although jason has only been OPEN in soho for a few weeks, business was steady. a seemingly neverending flow of patrons in the morning to get their caffeine fix before another work day. fill. tamp. pour. froth. that’s him on autopilot practically every morning while someone else handles the food and money. truthfully, it’s a bit of a bitch to be the only barista in the shop at the moment, but his crew’s still a skeleton and he’ll have time to build. he’s gotten a few regulars, and the little rainbow flag he’s slapped on the front counter has garnered a few patrons to return and have a chat with him. jason has just finished abigail from that accounting firm’s coffee when, like clockwork, he arrives. black on black, sunglasses inside his store and red hair. it’s the third time he’s seen him, but maybe it’s the red hair that makes him stick out from the rest of the crowd. jason vaguely recalls the man’s name, crowley, who orders the same triple shot coffee and half a dozen of his pastries. crowley doesn’t look like he’d scarf down those pastries by himself, but jason doesn’t judge. instead, he smiles as the redhead approaches the counter.
