Black Butler Preference ~ Your Sleep/Cuddles Together
Black Butler Masterlist
Sebastian
Tumblr media
Sebastian normally doesn't end up sleeping with you when he needs time to pass, but when he does you normally are the one looking for him and want to have him spend the long hours of the night holding you while you sleep. He always has his arms around you while you're asleep and gives you a kiss on the head of cheek before you fall asleep. You normally lay your head on the right side of his chest and wrap your one leg around his forcing him to hold you and wake you up if he needs to get up.
Ciel
Tumblr media
At first you wanted to keep your own room, but after a while you ended up moving into Ciel's room with him and slept every single night with him. Now every night is different with him. He might be the first one to bed or he won't be in bed until 1am. On the days where you are the last one to bed you cuddle up next to him, but you don't put your arms around him, you just lean into him as to not wake him. When you're the first one asleep Ciel doesn't hesitate to be the large spoon and gently kiss your neck to let you know that he's finally there in bed with you. Sebastian normally wakes both of you up in the morning so everyday you get up together.
Grell
Tumblr media
You don't live together or even near each other, but that doesn't matter whatsoever to Grell. She is the one to climb into bed last and cuddle against you and hold you in her arms as you gently lean your head on hers. You don't go a single night without having her next to you. In the morning you are the first to wake up and since you almost always have to see your supervisors you shower and she never seems to want you to have one without her either.
Claude
Tumblr media
It's a rare occasion for you two to be together when it's nighttime and normally you're cuddling together after some spicy time. Your head is in his chest and both of your arms are wrapped around him and he holds you gently rubbing your back making you fall asleep faster and faster. Your legs are wrapped together, and Claude normally doesn't let you go until you start to beg for him to let go. He wakes up a lot earlier than you do on these days, but he always leaves a note and a cup of tea waiting for you.
William
Tumblr media
Since William is very serious about his job and doesn't normally show any affection towards you when in public when it comes to going to sleep, he never lets you go. If you wake up in the night to go to the bathroom or are just feeling sick, his grip on you with keep you in his arms until he wakes up and let you get up. You either are spooning each other, or you are resting your head on Will's chest and falling asleep to his breathing. You almost always wake up with him as he can never find his glasses in the morning without turning on a bright light. When you wake up he's normally sitting on the edge of the bed facing away from you so you sit up and give him a gently good morning hug from behind.

Ch. I
It is yet another dark, gloomy, depressing day out in London today. Even with the threat of rain, people were out and about visiting shops and conducting typical business activities as usual.
Including Mavis, even if she hated being out and around others. But the growing pain in her stomach screamed to have something filling to satisfy itself basically forced her out.
Passing by numerous shops that sold a variety of things, clothes, food, accessories, etc. Mavis favored a spot near the heart of London, even if it was crawling with nobles and mercenaries. For here she could swiftly and easily sneak pieces of food off vendors tables without the owners knowing. And when they’d realize what had happened, she’d be long gone in the sea of humans. She’s been getting bolder and bolder, swiping items at first from family owned businesses and slowly escalating to corporate companies.
But, there’s a drawback for Mavis being in large crowds.
What was stronger than the smell of baked goods and street food being freshly made right there was the scent of human souls. It's like shoving a Thanksgiving dinner in front of someone who's been stranded in the jungle for 6 months without adequate food and water on hand.
That urge to just cull a human soul was growing day by day. It drove her nuts, so much so that she doesn't eat meat. The sight, color, smell and texture was intoxicating, but she forces herself to push those emotions down, no matter how loudly her stomach growls.
With her back as straight as it could get, she ventured on into the crowds of people, swallowing the saliva that flooded her mouth as her sensitive nose caught the wisps of other souls. Its been getting worse since she arrived in London sometime ago. She’s times before came close to actually attacking people, but would stop herself when her consciousness would return from the frenzy. The haunting memories of her childhood being the negotiator most of the time.
For today’s menu, Mavis craved something sweet. And the only good enough shop for her to steal from would be from the Funtom Company. Rumor had it that a mere child runs the company now, as well as being head of his family. These were whispers and judgmental words from citizens who had issues with a child running everything.
She remembered the day she found out that was the case, thinking to herself, ‘Even if he runs a successful Candy Company, I can't believe he's the head of the family. Earl Phantomhive. Parents dying in a tragic house fire, leaving the boy the only one alive. Poor thing, I almost pity him.’
She huffed lightly, comparing backstories of his and her own together mentally. ‘Though, you weren't turned into a monster. But I am curious about this infamous butler of his that tags along wherever he goes.’
She ceased her mental bickering when the sweet smell of the well known candy store hit her nose. A sly smirk tugged at the corners of her lips as she also spotted the company mascot on a small sign hanging over the main entrance.
‘Ahh..reminds me of father. Though that alone won't stop me from swiping some goodies!’
The shop was busy as usual, lots of kids with their parents browsing what Funtom offered as goods, along with young couples buying candy for one another. The typical crowd for the time of day.
Upon entering, Mavis snuck through the groups of people, purposefully avoiding the shop employees. There had been a sketch of her posted on the ‘Not Welcome In Store/Banned’ section of a newsletter board. Last thing needed was to be chased out of the store before getting a bite of the sweets.
Weaving in and out of the people, she finally made it to the baked sweet sitting on plates, awaiting grubby hands to take them. Brownies, cookies, cakes, cake slices, crepes, doughnuts, you name it, were all there and out in the open. Unattended, with the quick glance of her surroundings, Mavis began to pocket everything she could grab. Cookies, doughnuts and the one other reason why
she came out here in the first place.
‘Can't forget about the Butterscotch Brownies!’
Grabbing an exceptionally large handful of them she quietly pocketed the sweets before a voice shot out into the crowd.
“HEY! You’re supposed to not be here!”
“Crap!!”
She immediately turned around and booked it, pushing past the people in her way that tried to stop the robbery.
Reaching the door, she pulled it open and dashed through it, all the while her head was turned to show off her tongue to the ones that tried to stop her. She was home free, beginning to advance to the streets ahead when-
WHAM!
“Ugh..Damn it..” Her muffled voice crowed.
Wait.
Muffled?
Shooting open her silver colored eyes Mavis slowly observed what she ran into.
Black overcoat..
White undershirt..black tie..
A silver crest over the left breast pocket..
She took a sharp inhale. ‘This scent..I’ve smelled it before..Roses and Cinnamon..’ Slowly taking a step back, the customers gasped and murmured behind her. The sensitive hearing she has easily caught their voices.
“That mangy street rat ran into Earl Phantomhive! Er, well, his butler at least..”
‘You’ve gotta be shitting me.’ She groaned internally. Say goodbye to all that hard work for food I guess.
“Oh my. What is it that we have here?” A voice, so smooth and still as a lake spoke from above.
Quickly looking up her eyes widened at who the voice belonged to.
A man, tall and slender, with raven black hair, porcelain skin, and deep ruby red eyes observed her.
‘Oh fuck..’ Mavis nervously thought as she started to shiver lightly. ‘This man..he's the same as me..he’s a demon, and a ridiculously powerful one too..’ She stiffened up as his eyes traced her frame, slightly widening halfway around her body before relaxing again.
“Ah! Mr.Sebastian you’ve come at a good time! This harlot has been the one stealing all of the baked sweets! She’s got them in her pocket!”
Sebastian, briefly glanced at the store employee before going back down at the woman in front of him, a quick hand reaching into her pocket and pulling out the Butterscotch Brownie she snatched minutes before. He eyed the sweet then again the woman, a devilish smirk came across his face.
“So it appears. Good man, I’ll take her to the proper authorities.” He gave an eye closed smile, using his other hand to grab one of Mavis’s wrists, his attention snapping down to her. “Now then, Madam, I’m going to have to ask you to come with me.” His grip tightened, as if he'd snap her wrist if she refused.
Growling slightly, she stared back into his maroon eyes, “Fine.”
Again, Sebastian smiled and turned to leave, bringing Mavis into the public eye. The moment she was out of the building, she made a quick twist of her wrist and bent it in a way that Sebastian wasn’t expecting and yanked herself free from his grasp. Taking the newfound freedom from her short capture Mavis took a quick breath of air and turned hightail, running away from the man as quickly as she could.
“Hey! Get back here!” The same employee yelled out, lunging into the direction the thief ran in, only to be stopped by Sebastian’s hand being placed on his shoulder. “Don’t worry, she will be dealt with accordingly.”
The shopkeeper Looked up at the butler in clad black with a look of uncertainty. Nonetheless, he once again thanked Sebastian for his coincidental timing and went back inside.
“Sebastian. What was that all about?”
Turning on his heel, he looked down to a boy, dressed neatly and spiffy like with an eyepatch over his right eye. And with a small bow, he rose back up and replied, “My apologies Young Master, it seems our rat problem just ran off.”
“What? That girl? SHE got away from YOU?”
With his eyes staring at his master, he continued. “There’s something else..” He walked over and put a hand to his ear. “In other words, a supernatural problem.”
The boys single ocean blue eye widened, nodding to his butler. “We will speak of this back at the manor. Come, if it means what it's starting to sound like this needs our attention now. Reschedule the check in with the other shops too.”
Sebastian got down on one knee. With a hand over his chest and spoke, “Yes, my lord.”
____________________________________________________
Mavis, now a safe distance away from the demonic butler, hissed at herself. “You idiot! Now not only don't you have any food, you’ve now got to deal with..THAT.” She spat out the word like acid, kicking some garbage in the alleyway she found after scaling buildings in the means to hide, the anger and frustration slowly boiling. Not only that, but her stomach was making the same Sirens call, trying to move her to feast on a human soul. Audible growls of hunger shook her body, and the aching pain that followed felt like a hot knife being stabbed into her belly.
“This..then that psychopathic red head from a few days ago..and now another demon in London. What more could come my way?” She grumbled, making a plan on what to do for the night.
‘Well..I have to find food, or else I’ll snap..that’s priority one. At least the dinner rush will happen soon..’
-later that night-
As she thought, the dinner rush began not long after the sun began to set. This time she stuck by the area she’s been calling ‘home’ for a few weeks now. Mainly sticking by the homeless folk that slept in the alleys and in broad daylight for everyone to observe.
Using her typical scavenger skills, Mavis again blended into a bustling crowd of people. She tried to focus on sights rather than scents, although seeing out of her eyes was just as much of a curse as her sense of smell. For she is able to physically see a person's soul. The shape, color and hue, and in some rare instances she could even see their textures. The mere sight of a soul doesn't catch her attention most of the time, it was the scent that was her enemy too.
It was already dark out. City workers scrambled to light the street lights to illuminate roads and sidewalks. Even without the light she could see everything around her like the sun had never set. Her night vision ability was really something to marvel at, even if it did make the things around her light up like a Christmas Tree.
Again she made it to an open table full of goods, checking her surroundings once more she began to pick out the ones that looked the best.
‘Mmmm…I’ll take you, you, you….’ She gasped loudly in her mind. ‘YOU!’ Her silver eyes widened. There before her was a Butterscotch Brownie, and only 2 were left. Muscle memory just lunged for the baked good, snatching the one and stuffing it into her pockets with the rest of them. Her swift swiping was silent, her clothing not even rustling.
Satisfied with her haul, Mavis slunked back into the crowd, disappearing into the sea of people.
She moved and weaved with bliss, not once bumping or brushing against anyone. Eventually she made it to another alley, quickly making her way to the very end of it and smothering herself against the brick wall, sinking down to the ground with her knees up to her chest. As a rabid animal finding fresh kill, the woman began to devour the sweets. Filling her stomach, but just barely. Even though she could taste and favor food like any other human, no matter how much she’d eat it wasn't enough. It only sufficed her hunger for a little while, a quarter of the day at most.
The Butterscotch Brownie was the only thing left to eat. Saliva dripped down the corner of her mouth, like a dog salivating for a bone. “Ohh you better be worth this!” She nearly moaned. Opening her maw, Mavis shoved the sweet inside, chewing the delectable tart and savoring its flavor to the fullest, before swallowing. Satisfied, Mavis moved closer to the wall, snuggling into the corner that met with the adjacent building with a tattered piece of cloth barely large enough to cover her body fully, slowly lulling herself to sleep.
Sure, she knew that it’d probably be best to keep a watchful eye out for demons and reapers, but today was the first day that Mavis’s screaming stomach calmed down. She didn't waste on the opportunity to rest.
Hopefully, she'll get a full night's rest if she’s lucky.
“My, my, you’re one hard woman to find.”
..Well nevermind I guess.
The millisecond those words hit Mavis’s ears, her eyes shot open and hovered over to the source of the sound.
A familiar scent followed close behind.
Roses and Cinnamon, with a new undiscovered hint of Earl Grey.
Her body moved on its own, quickly standing to her feet while her back pressed against the brick wall, hands holding onto a few of the bricks instinctively.
‘It wasn't worth it. Damn you!’
There at the opposite end of the alley, stood the same figure from before, the Phantomhive butler. The eyes he had made Mavis’s lips curl in distaste.
“It's a bothersome thing, isn't it? The anguish of a starving demon.” Sebastian’s smooth voice echoed in the restricted space. All was silent except the clicking of his dress shoes hitting the cobblestone pavement beneath them, making his way towards Mavis. In return she pressed herself harder to the wall, her teeth slightly sharpening in defense.
“Don't come any closer! I’m not in the mood to deal with you again today!” She protested, sending a small growl Sebastian’s way.
The soft sound curled around his ears, a sound he knows too well. It was a warning growl. “Mm, I’m afraid not. For you see, my Master's line of work would double if someone like you is out and about. The last thing he wants is the Queen to worry about her citizens.”
“Tch. To hell with her citizens. I know why you’re here, and I’m going to tell you once more, stay away. I’m not going to feed anytime soon.”
All Sebastian did was smile, and chuckle ever so slightly. “Ah, if I had a nickel for everytime I’ve heard that.” His eyes shifted to the telling color of bright magenta, seemingly illuminating brighter than the lamps in the dim alley.
Mavis in turn allowed her eye to do the same, showing off the piercing magenta color. All though in a much, much lower brightness. The iris slitting into a vertical shape. This made Sebastian stop in his tracks, staring at her.
“Oh? Well this is new..” He whispered to himself, though the woman caught it. His eyes squinted to Mavis’s chest, eyeing it curiously. She didn’t move, she knew that he was looking at her soul. With a quick breath in, Sebastian was stunned at her scent.
What he smelt was not only the familiar stench of a demon, but a new scent he didn’t notice before that the woman carried with her.
The sweet scent of honeysuckle and cedarwood, with a hint of the scent of..a forest?
Now, Sebastian would be lying if his own mouth didn't water in the presence of such a delectable soul, but being bound by contract, he couldn’t do anything about it. After all, it was his fault for being so picky about quality souls. His interest in the situation at hand was growing more however.
“Here I thought that you were some low life trying to get by. Though that is still the case-” he chuckled to himself slightly, before continuing. “However, in my many years of ‘life’ have I ever seen something as mysterious as you.” His lips curled back slightly, revealing 3 sharp top teeth and 2 sharp lower ones, all the while making his way to the woman. “Although it's been rumored of it happening, I’ve never seen one in person before..”
“Yes, yes, I’m well aware of what I am. But are you aware that I want nothing to do with someone like you?” She spat, putting one of her feet flat against the wall. If she had to escape, this would probably be the best way out.
“That I am. But I am bound by orders from my Master as I said to make contact with you. We cannot afford a rogue demon potentially starting a frenzied killing right now.”
She huffed with irritation, rolling her dual colored eyes at the man's words. “I already told you, I’m not going to feed. I haven’t culled anyone in over 17 years. Besides, I’m not looking for work. I have other important priorities to focus on than wasting time serving some moron tea when their legs work just fine.”
“Seems like she’s not listening, am I right, Sebastian?” A young voice called from behind the butler, along with the shadow of a child turning the corner from where the open road was.
“It appears so Young Mater. Perhaps our second plan could work.”
At the sight of the boy Mavis gritted her teeth together. ‘Not again, not like last time.’ She eyes him down. “What do you want, little pup?”
The boy squinted his one eye, staring back at her.
“How about a game?”
Mavis tensed slightly, “What do you mean..”
He walked up to his butler, cane in hand and stopped with the last sound being said cane striking the ground.
“I mean what it sounds like. The game is chase.”
The woman stayed silent, watching the little Earl.
“All you have to do is escape Sebastian for 5 minutes. If he catches you, you come back with us. If he doesn't, we will leave you until you lose control.”
She bit the inside of her cheek. Was she seriously considering his offer?
“What do I get out of it?”
“Food. A roof over your head and a bed. Though no one is ever allowed to live in my manor without being of some sort of use. You’d have to work, and, as you said, you’d bring me tea.” He shot a cocky smirk.
Huffing again and getting tired of looking over her shoulder, she replied. “Fine. If it means you’ll leave me alone.”
“Excellent. You get a 10 second head start. After that, Sebastian will come for you.” he pulled out a pocket watch, flipping it open. “Ten.-” Aaannnddd she’s gone.
The joints in Mavis’s wrists and feet swiveled backwards and began to pull her body up the brick wall, much like a spider. As she reached the top, she took a millisecond to glance back at the butler who wore a smirk of excitement, then flipped over onto the roof. Just out of view now she could hear the quiet voice of the boy ask Sebastian if that was how she got away earlier that day, which he confirmed.
‘I know just one place that might throw off that damn bird demon..’ She thought, slowly making her way closer and closer to the Thames River.
Ciel turned to his butler, with 7 seconds remaining. “Well? What do you think? Could she really be only a half demon?”
Sebastian hummed lightly, eyes glued to the roof the woman was last seen on. ”It's beginning to look like it, though I’ll see for myself in a few seconds.” He glanced down at the Earl, his ruby eyes lightly sharpening at the chase ahead.
Back to Mavis, she hopped from roof to roof, finally seeing the Thames ahead. She was looking for the specific bridge that ran over it, the one that was full of people no matter what time of day. She grinned at the glorious sight, making haste to the under part of the bridge where she knew the supports for the bridge had a hollow opening, there she'd clamper into the space and squished herself as far as she could. And that's exactly what she did, making sure no one would see her first, then snuck down the embankment, and under the bridge. But before going in the bride's support, she decided to slather her arms, legs, and cheeks with mud, to deter her scent from being as noticeable.
Again, Ciel patiently waited for the seconds to tick by. Finally seeing the needle of his pocket watch hit the 10 second mark, he didn't raise his head to look at the butler. He knew he’d follow his order. “Fetch.”
And, just as quickly as Mavis had, Sebastian was gone too. The only thing indicating his departure was the near silent steps of his dress shoes clinking on the shingles above.
‘Ah, I see what she’s done here.’ Sebastian stopped, glancing down at the area next to the river. ‘Trying to deceive my senses are we? Interesting..She’s clever, I’ll give her that. And it seems she knows how to play games..’ His eyes scanned the crowd below, choosing to start his search by the well known pub in the area.
Many nooks and crannies zig zagged around the suburb. This was an area known to teem with trouble, most notably where Jack the Ripper has committed most of his recent murders. He scaled down the building in a darkened alley and walked out into the opening, as if he had been walking there this whole time.
‘He’s already near me?! No, that can't be!’ Mavis drastically thought. The wind had changed direction in her favor, er, well, not really.. She easily caught the distinctive scent of a demon nearby, along mixed in the aroma was hints of cinnamon and roses, though the cinnamon was much more pungent being a spice and all. But her muscles tensed, straining to keep herself steadfast in the corner as she heard the faintest sound of those dress shoes clicking down the cobblestone road. Even though that kind of shoe was normally worn during this era, it was the sound of his shoes that concerned her.
Sebastian sighed and continued on, slowly making his way to the bridge.
‘Well I’m never going to find her this way. Might as well use primal instincts..’ He took in the wind, allowing the scents of London to penetrate his nose. The disgusting smells of excrement from horses and people, mixed in with the other typical scents of London stood out. But one scent in particular pushed those aside and garnered his attention, one he hasn't encountered before.
His lips curled into a dark smirk scenting the faintest aroma of a demon, a sour and dark type of, but mixed in it like a blended melody was hints of citrus. This stood out beyond the rest of London, and to fill the growing hunger in his stomach Sebastian began to move closer and closer to the bridge.
Back underneath, Mavis was panicking. Why did she agree to do this?! Dammit! And to add salt in the wound she agreed to even ‘play’ with a powerful, high ranking demon too!
Her thoughts of possible escape snapped to a halt, the knowing piercing pain in her head thumped hard against her skull. ‘Shit! I’ve been so focused on hiding that I didn't realize just how much energy I’m wasting just to do this!’ The raging headache going on now couldn't be dulled by any other pain. She bit her lip hard, unknowingly too hard, not paying attention to the feeling of liquid slowly dropping down her lips till it was too late.
Looking down to her horror, Mavis watched a singular drop of blood hit the ground. It’s impact echoing louder than the clopping of horse hooves against the pavement up above. Like flipping a switch, the sound of Sebastian’s dress shoes abruptly changed direction and started moving closer to the bridge. Eventually Mavis surmised that the man was right on top of the same support beam she was. Instinctively she drove her hand to cover her mouth, in an attempt to slow her rapid breaths.
Taking out his pocket watch, Sebastian peered down at the glass and clicked his tongue. ‘Oh dear, its already been 4 minutes and 30 seconds? This won't do at all.” He frowned. ‘To think.. I might be outsmarted by a half demon..’ The foul taste of the thought stained his tongue.
The butler resumed his walk, but stopped after a few steps as his ears picked up the soft sound of yelping. It was faint, he could just barely hear it, but in his line of work you get accustomed to the sounds of whimpering one way or another.
Turning around, his eyes scanned the crowd of bustling people who were on the bridge with him, it was close enough that maybe the woman was blending in with the crowds.
Then, he heard it again. The same yelping sound, this time slightly louder but not loud enough to draw attention from humans, but loud enough for animals and supernaturals to hear it.
Mavis looked up from between the cracks she could physically see Sebastian above her. The lanterns illuminated his form while hiding the features on his face, but there’s no doubt it was him. The only man on the bridge without a woman or friend beside him, and the distinctive 3 raised hairs atop of his head gave it away. As soon as her eyes adjusted to the blinding light of the hanging lanterns, Sebastian’s form was gone. Fear and anxiety soon set in.
And she had a right to be scared.
“My, aren’t you a well camouflage thing?” His voice slipped off his tongue and right into Mavis’s ear.
She squeaked and finally lost the strength in her arms and legs, now tumbling down to the muddy water bank face first with a hard ‘thud’. She groaned and started to heave herself up but was stopped by a firm hand gripping the back of her neck.
“Ah, ah, ah. Can’t have you running off now, you’ve been caught, little mouse.” Sebastian smirked, and in return Mavis gave a deep growl of displeasure; the grip this man had on her was so strong that if she even attempted to run her skin would most likely stay in his hand while her body left.
-
Ciel yet again looked at his watch, about to call Sebastian back till out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of the man in question walking towards him. He had to double take to be sure his ‘one good eye’ wasn’t deceiving him.
“Young Master, I come bearing a gift.” He chuckled.
With her arms folded and silver eyes fixed on anything else but the two of them was an irritated Mavis. ‘How could I let this happen AGAIN?! Screw this damn Bird Brain and runt of an Earl..’ She negatively thought. “I can see that Sebastian. Come, the carriage is waiting.” He turned impressively and began to walk to the horse drawn car. All the while, Mavis just kept her mouth shut the whole time, till she was put into said carriage. She reluctantly sat down, looking around the small space for an easy escape route to only find her chance would be to weave between her kidnappers. That or go through the glass window, which was out of the question. I mean, she did lose fair and square, and Mavis was a woman of her word (for the most part..depends on what it is.)
Both of Mavis’s captors sat across from her. Sebastian wasn’t driving this time as someone else was hired for the job.
“Now then, May I ask for your name?” Ciel quizzed, legs crossed over and back straight. His single deep royal blue eye practically pierced through the woman before him. “Mavis. Mavis Fairview.” She replied, hand on her chin and head leaning on the cool glass of the carriage.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Ms.Fairview. I’m Ciel Phantomhive, Earl of Phantomhive.” Before he continued the woman but in. “I know who you are. To the public eye you’re just a boy who lost everything. But to others, you’re known as the Queens Guard Dog.” She didn’t move her head, but her eyes slid over to the boy, who looked right back at her with surprise. Even the butler next to him couldn’t help but to mimic the same reaction as well.
“How-how did you know?”
“When you’re part of the actual underworld, word travels fast. Especially when you got him-” She slightly hissed, “As your lap dog too.” As she sneared at Sebastian, a thought crossed her mind. Ciel had started to gain notoriety at being a detective, and even solving what the Scotland Yard couldn’t do, so perhaps..he might be able to help her
In her own personal life, she wasn’t getting far with leads to look for the person/people that made her own special little hell on Earth, who caused her great pain and suffering and, just like anyone else, wanted revenge on them for doing so. But..could she really put down more time and waste possible energy for another Master who would ‘help’ her?
The chance would come soon enough. Afterall, what more could she gamble away? Nothing if I’m being honest. But for now she had to determine if these ‘people’ before her are worth the time. Ciel squinted his eye at her as she continued to stare, getting uncomfortable between that and the awkward silence that was soon apparent.
To break it, Ciel continued with a basic question. “Alright, seeing that you’ll be staying at the manor you’d have to work for me. No one is allowed to stay rent free. Have you ever had a job like a maid before?”
She sighed, angry that she’s going to answer truthfully. But its for the best. “Yes I have. I’ve been a maid and a butler before, But I much prefer the butler role.”
Ciel put a hand to his chin in thought. “Young Master, if I may-” Sebastian started, “Perhaps it would be best to have another butler in the house. She could be of some use to the troublemakers back at the manor.” Ciel’s face soured at the mention of the others. “Yes..It would be nice for once to not have anything go wrong.”
Mavis just looked between them, hoping the Earl wouldn’t say what she thinks he will.
“Alright, I’ll have you work under Sebastian. You’ll also be second in charge for our morons of servants.” Aaannnddd there it is. The thought of her having to work under this..sadistic demon made Mavis grind her teeth. Her K9’s peeking through her lips.
“Fine. But, I must ask something of you in return. If you help me I’ll comply, if you don’t I’ll leave the moment I see the chance.”
The both of them looked at each other quickly before looking back at Mavis. Sebastian’s eyes squinted slightly.
“As long as it's in the lines of what I can do, consider it done.”
She closed her eyes, head turning to face the both of them. When they opened, one eye was silver, the other glowing a bright magenta.
“Help me find the people that killed my father, and imprisoned me. Then, I’ll gladly work for you.”

Black Butler — Ciel Phantomhive x black, female oc
The air turned black all around me. My hair stood on end, a shiver raced down my spine and a lump came to my throat. It was him...the queen’s guard dog, the infamous Ciel Phantomhive and his loyal butler, Sebastian Michaelis.
Despite the modern days that we lived in, Ciel was born into old 19th century money. He was substantially rich and could afford such a luxury as having a butler at his every whim.
I was a mere peasant in his wake—though, using that term was quite insensitive in the 21st century, it still held true—and, yet, as the daughter of Ciel’s biggest investor I was being forced to meet him in a formal setting.
His home required as much.
The only relief this soon-to-be-disastrous dinner brought was Ciel’s dear gardener, Finnian, and an old friend of mine.
I grinned when his bright green eyes met my own red irises and, in turn, his eyes grew impossibly wider and brighter as he smiled happily at me, a strong wave of his gloved hand indicating his welcoming hello. “Vinterny! What’re you doing here?”
He ran up to me as I staggered behind my father in these God forsaken heels. “Finny!” The blonde attacked me with a tight hug and a contagious laugh. Though, throughout our merry reunion, I felt the lingering stare of Ciel’s blue eye. Once as bright as Finny’s, grew dark with the unfairness of life.
“Mr. Phantomhive,” my father began when we had finally reached the entrance steps that Ciel and Sebastian towered on, “thank you for inviting me to dine with you. This is my daughter, Vinterny.” I bowed my head in acknowledgment before glancing up at the lord of the rather large estate.
Because of his young age at only twenty-two (two years younger than I) he held a youthful face fixed with a permanent glare. His light pink lips were downcast in a bored frown. And his skin was so porcelain white, it’s as if he’s never seen the light of day. Or basked in rays of the moon. His hair was a pale blue, and looked silky to the touch. He wore a white button down, blue slacks and black dress shoes. And in his right hand was a vintage cane…there had never been any talk of him having a limp.
Finnian pulled me from my thoughts. “You’re here to have dinner, is that it?” I nod to Finny with a small smile. “Then, I’ll show you the garden! I work on it, y’know!” His aura glows with pride. “Is that alright with you, my lord?” We both turn to look back at Ciel. He stares at me for a while, his eye calculating, before giving Finny a curt nod. “Yes, that’s fine, just don’t destroy my rose bushes again.”
I blink. His voice. Smooth and certain and if water could speak, rainstorms would sound like him.
Finny gives a pout. “Aw. Gimme a break, it’s only happened five times.” The blonde takes my hand. “C’mon Vinterny, I’ll introduce you to Mey-Rin and Bard!” I chuckle, “Alright, alright, no need to tug. Lead the way.”
Dinner was filled with the chatter of business and the click-clacking of dishes in the kitchen. And, I swear, there was an explosion back there at one point. Sebastian excusing himself from his master’s side at that very moment only proved my suspicions of a cooking experiment gone wrong.
Poor Bard is going to be chewed and spat out by the time the night’s over. Finnian most likely won’t let him hear the end of it…of course, until he makes his own fair share of mistakes.
I slightly chuckle into my hand at the thought.
“Lady Sparrow, might I inquire what’s so funny?” I pause in the middle of my laugh and glimpse at the one who beckoned my name. A small smirk played at his lips.
I rub the back of my neck. “Oh, I just had an entertaining thought, that’s all. Sorry if I interrupted you.”
“No need for apologies, Lady Sparrow, in fact I think I’d rather speak with you; I’ve been told you come up with most of the designs sent to me and my company. Is that right?” I hastily nod. I was not expecting to get called out tonight.
“Then, would it be alright to get your number? There’s some things I’d like to discuss with you.” I turn to look at my father, but he only shrugs. What help he was. Jeez.
“Yes, of course.”
__
“I’ve never thought to ask but, how do you know Finnian?”
I look up from the documents scattered along the floor with a thoughtful hum and needed stretch. “He and I were raised in the same orphanage before my father found me. We lost contact once I started working for the company at sixteen. The day I came to the manor with my father was our first time seeing each other in eight years.”
Ciel is quiet for a while and I almost go back to doing my previous task before I hear him clear his throat. “Did you ever have feelings for him?”
“Feelings for Finny?” I cough on a suppressed laugh. “No, I’ve never thought of him that way. He’s my best friend.”
I stare at Ciel for a moment, his skin tinted with a light-colored blush, “Why do you ask?”
He only shrugs returning back to his work. The conversation was over.
Ciel’s right eye is always covered by two layers. A plain black eye patch and his hair. There is never a moment that this part of him is uncovered.
Until he lays in bed.
At night, under white sheets, Lord Phantomhive is at his most vulnerable. (Well, as much as he allows himself to be).
I learned this one night when he had called me at four in the morning—only a few hours before we both had to get up for a mutual business trip.
His usual collected voice wavered from the tears he had shed in his sleep. It was then that Ciel revealed he suffered from horrible nightmares. Lost memories of his torturous past. And I told him whenever he had those dreams, the ones that keep him up at night, to call me and I’ll come over to comfort him.
Sleeping in his bed soon became a weekly thing. A routine everyone quickly adjusted to.
And that first morning I woke up with him curled into my side, his eye was uncovered. There sat a large scar starting from right above his eyebrow to the beginning of his cheek. It was as if someone had took a shard of glass and cut him. The intent to inflict purposeful pain was evident in the scar that remained.
When he awoke his eye fluttered open. Unlike his left, his right eye was just like the rest of him: pale. The sky blue was almost white, as if to mimic being clear. It was pretty.
As his brain began to catch up with the rest of his body, he soon realized his eye was no longer covered and he became embarrassed…maybe even ashamed.
“It’s alright Ciel,” I began, “I think your eye is quite pretty. It tells a story. You don’t have to hide it from me.”
With that reassurance he curled up against me once more and we both fell asleep again throughout the early hours of the morning.
I fell in love when I didn’t recognize my feelings and, in turn, my love became deeper, more intense—I couldn’t prevent it.
I grew in sync with him. His quirks and mannerisms and feelings. He’s so stoic, it took time to understand him internally from his external stoicism. Some times he seemed unbothered by the antics of his servants but, I’ve come to see the twitch of his eyebrow or the tightening grip of his fingers around his cane. Or when I would stroll into his office with a different dessert from the previous day and the right cup of brewed tea, his lips would curl up slightly. And when he and Sebastian would crack a particularly difficult case, his eye would gleam with pride.
And his favorite color was obviously blue.
I’ve gotten to know him for who he is and not just as the queen’s guard dog or as the boy who lost his parents in a fire at a very young age.
The moment when I came to the revelation that I was in love was the same day I thought about what it would be like to be the lady of the Phantomhive manor…and the day that I became his first kiss.
Ciel had invited me on a long night drive to the city of London (since his estate was pretty far off in a secluded part of the countryside) and I had been lost in my thoughts, staring out into the deathless evergreen of forests on each side of the road. “Your thoughts have you in such a trance. Might I ask what’s boggling your mind?”
His voice, smooth and arousing, cut me from my thoughts and I blink back into reality before turning my gaze towards him. “Nothing much, just wondering what it would be like to be Lady of your estate.”
His eye grows wide as if I had just spilled the most devious of gossip. I suppose I had always been a bit too truthful.
“And what made you think of that?” Ciel visibly gulps. I only shrug, as if unbothered, “No reason; my mind tends to come up with interesting scenarios that I can’t bring forth into my own life.” However, my heart was racing a mile a minute—I really needed to learn how to keep my mouth shut.
“Scenarios?” He echoed. “Entertain me with an example…if that’s alright.”
I shrug again and decided to dive deep into risks that night. “I couldn’t count on my fingers how many times I’ve daydreamed scenarios on finally building up the courage to kiss you.”
He freezes. A slow blink in recollection of my words. “You want to kiss me?” I let a few moments pass before I nod my head in response. And he grows silent.
Did I just fuck up?
My thoughts were running ragged until he spoke again, “You’d be my first kiss.”
I was driven shocked by his words. “Really? Well…is that alright with you?” In the dimmed lighting of the moon I could see him gulp again before he nods his head slowly. “Do me one favor then,” I mumble. He hums. “Let me see your eyes…both of them.” Ciel stiffens up but, to my surprise, he obliged my request and carefully removed his eyepatch. I turn his head to look at me with my thumb and index placed on the edge of his chin and I run my free hand through his bangs, pushing them upwards into his hair.
Then, his eye was displayed. Just as pretty as it was the first and last time I saw it. Scarred, pale and painful. And I kiss him there. Sweetly and soft. Before kissing his lips which were chapped and cushion-like and tasted of the day’s blueberry tart and lavender earl grey tea.
We kissed until we couldn’t breathe then, we kissed again.
“Master, we’ve arrived,” Sebastian’s voice is placid and teasing. And, though, Ciel was embarrassed (emphasized with a harsh blush), I laughed and pecked his lips before taking my leave from the car.
Ciel loved me, too.
There’s only one nickname that causes Ciel to shiver with need…, and it was a name I only called him when we were alone. It was a name to be respected and not repeated amongst others.
Beloved.
Finny was the only one who knew I called Ciel this, he’s the one that helped me come up with it. And it affected my husband in the best way possible.
He becomes pliant and quiet and let’s me unwind him after a hard day’s work in his office or in town to check on his company or to help the queen.
“Beloved…come and lay with me, hmmm?”
I had been reading a book in bed, Ciel had trudged in through the cracked door of our room with bags under his eye and a disheartened look. Though, it was some time mid-noon, he looked as if he hadn’t slept in days, he needed a nap. Without much else other than a low grunt, he stripped himself of his work clothes, took off his eyepatch and immediately came to rest on top of me.
I chuckle softly as I cover him with the comforter before running my hands through his hair. “We can spend the rest of the day here.” He grunts again and then, his breath fell even.
“My beloved,” I murmur in between my smile, “I love you.”

Chapter 2
Vincent Phantomhive x Demon OC
Ciel Phantomhive x motherly figure demon oc
OC name: Violet Brynn
Warnings: Violence, cursing, fighting between Violet and Vincent, Violet breaking an order, asthma attack, time skip of 10 years
Tumblr media
Sitting in the carriage, Violet sat beside Vincent not a word escaping her lips. Instead her cat eyes sat outside eyeing the new environment. The scenery was filled with tents, gates, animals, and cheerful children that watched and waited for the tickets for the circus to begin selling. The thought of such things made her grimace, but the thought of cracking through the missing childrens case made her thirsty.
But when she looked in front of her where the oldest of twins sat, Ciel, she got angry at Vincent for bringing him along. He was a child, and there are children going missing in these parts, and he brings his son with. Vincent said that it was nothing but a test to make sure she actually protects his children.
Stepping from the carriage, she helped Ciel out then turned her gaze from Vincent eyeing every inch of the circus's setup. She took in any suspicious scent, any type ritual that could've been used against children. Ciel looked up at her, watching her closely with his big blue eyes. Her golden gaze turned watching a man with bright orange hair with joker type makeup and clothing on. Suddenly he turned with a smile purple meeting gold, which she just turned allowing Ciel to walk first towards the ticket stand, 2 paces behind him and Vincent by her side.
Once inside they picked their spots, Ciel sitting between each adult. Each act peaked Violet's attention, but the moment William T Spears was on that tightrope, she cursed head lowering once she realized she was now stuck with having to deal with a grim reaper. She lowered her head, palm pressing into her forehead migraine already forming.
"Stay put.." she softly spoke. She stood up walking down from the seats and making her way through people and sneaking behind the scenes. Her heels clicked, gold eyes shinning in the darkness of the tent. She followed the scent of the grim reaper, growing more and more disgusted the closer she got.
"William." she spoke. He hummed turning his head towards the cat demon present behind him. "I knew I smelled a demon. I truly expected a more vulgar choice.." he coldly spoke pushing his glasses back into place. "Well if your here then this must be the place of the missing children." she hummed looking towards the men, women, and children that walked through the tent with smiles. "Indeed. Though this is my catch, meaning it has nothing to do with you." he growled. He aimed his death syth towards her, the claw like blade etched out towards her; but she caught it before it struck her blood rushing from her knuckles. Turning her knuckles she tossed it aside eyeing the damage of her hand.
He ran towards her, but she jumped up grabbing onto a bar flipping herself on top of it. Bloodied fingers wrapped around the metal before pushing herself into a standing stance. Her head turned taking in a strong scent of another demon. William seemed to notice it as well, because he stopped his pace, head turning searching for the same scent as she.
"This one is much vulgar.." William mumbled. "Are calling me sweet William.. I think that's the nicest you've ever been to me." she flirted. "Do not make me vomit." he growled. She jumped back to the ground, standing straight but the sounds of Ciel's voice made her attention snap to him. She turned her head following his voice, ignoring William's calls towards her.
She walked up behind Vincent, who turned his head noticing her return. Ciel moved back so he stood beside her, his gemstone gaze sat on a tall male dressed in a butler uniform. Her golden gaze met his auburn one, the two eyeing one another. She tucked Ciel between her and Vincent, gold eyes turning violet humming towards Vincent.
"Who is he?" the lord questioned. "A demon." she softly answered. "Another contract then?" Vincent asked. "Possibly. Or just one that decided to come up to the human world for the sake of a free meal." she answered. Vincent looked over towards her, nothing the way her gaze sat on the window of the carriage. "Do you know him?" he suddenly questioned. "I've known thousands of demons. I can not remember each changing form of those I know in hell. But given the way he looked at me he may know me." she spoke. 'he will be trouble..' she thought to herself.
Tumblr media
"Why us?! Why don't you go and do it!" Violet yelled towards Vincent. "Because I'm too well known." he answered firmly. "So your sending me and your son into a circus that is kidnapping children?!" she called out. "I understand me, but you're own child!!" she yelled. "It's your job to protect him is it not?" he questioned. "Well.. yes but it's dangerous!" she argued.
That argument lasted for a good 2 hours, before Violet was pushed into the carriage with Ciel beside her. She had her fists clenched in her lap trying her hardest to figure out how she was going to be doing this. They took in refuges, homeless people that where in need of a family.
The moment the carriage came to a stop she stepped out helping the young master out after. He was dressed in a normal outfit for those that could be considered homeless or poor, nothing like what he would usually wear. While she was in her pentagram bralette that hooked to her short skirt with thigh stockings, purple hair tied into a high ponytail, and a short jacket sitting on her shoulders. She just looked like an assassin, or a guarded protector.
She pushed gently on the boys shoulder allowing him to walk ahead of her towards the man that called himself Joker. He turned his head smiling at the the visitors holding his hands out. "My my! What can I do for you strangers?" he happily spoke. "I heard you take in those that are in need for help." the boy spoke before she could. "My mother and I are in need of a home.. We are both very talented in many genres!" Ciel convinced.
"Well all newcomers must have an audition before becoming part of the circus. But we're always taking in young things like you!" Joker spoke. Violet's head quickly shot over towards him eyeing him closely. He looked at her, his smile faded as he watched her closely. "My don't you pretty eyes love.. I don't believe I've ever seen eyes that color of gold before." he softly spoke. Her cheeks where caressed with pink, a small smile appearing on her lips. "Please sir.. We are desperate. My husband had kicked us from his manor leaving us with little to go to." she pleaded.
"Well I certainly can't let a beautiful lady and her child to the streets. Oh what the hell, if you don't pass the audition then there's always more options for ye!" he happily said. "Thank you sir." she hummed bowing her head in respect.
Tumblr media
Now passing the audition was painful, not for her but it certainly was for Ciel. Boy couldn't throw a knife properly but with the her help and the mask of pebbles smacking against the blade forcing them into the target, he passed the knife throwing course. But with the tightrope, she was deemed for punishment for most likely Bruising his pale skin.
She helped Ciel down from the ladder, kneeling in front of his straightening his clothing out. "Are you okay?" she softly questioned. He hummed looking to the side watching each of the auditions. "That man from last night is here as well.." he spoke. "Yes, I noticed him during the knife throwing.. Just stay away from him as much as possible." she softly spoke, standing to her full height.
"My! And here I thought you where gonna fall!" Joker called out. He looked at Violet first smiling, his hand stroking her chin as if thinking deeply. "Hmm... Now it's only to come up with names! You my dear are very talented, skilled in every aspect! Davina.." he suddenly spoke. She cocked her head to the side confused by the name. "Why beloved?" she questioned. "It matches. Now for ye little guy! You're awfully cute.. so why not Smile!" he happily spoke.
Ciel's cheeks got bright red looking up at Violet eyeing her closely. She smiled down at him touching the top of his head. "Now come on give us a smile little guy!" Joker happily spoke. Her gold eyes shifted back towards the man eyeing him closely, not really listening as people awed at Ciel's big bright smile.
Once finally escaping from the man, shivers running down the demons spine at each comment he threw towards her. Entering the tent she was given, gold eyes skimming over everything before meeting Auburn ones. "Oh come on.." she mumbled. She immediately turned around not interested in sharing a tent with another demon. She'd rather sleep with the snakes than be in here with another of her kind. Her heels clicked as she walked out, only to bump into Joker.
It was really wasn't her night.
Either demon, or overly flirtatious circus actor..
She chose Demon because she bowed her head at Joker and reentered the tent moving towards the untouched bed. She didn't sleep but it was still a nice thought to have a bed. She laid down, pressing her arm over her eyes ignoring the scent of William entering. "So what are two demons doing here anyway?" he questioned harshly. "Well.. I know why she's here. But you don't have a master Sebastian." William growled.
'Sebastian?' she thought. 'where have I heard that name before??' she questioned herself. Turning her head she eyed the demon closely, trying to whisk her brain into remembering who exactly he is. But a sharp yell interrupted her thoughts body shooting up and rushing out of the tent following Ciel's yell. She came to a stop when she noticed snakes slithering around the boy. She reached out grabbing him by the back of his shirt and lifting him away from the reptiles.
Joker came running gasping when he almost stepped on one of the creatures. "Damn Snake.. these should be locked up!" Joker called out to the Snake whisperer. Ciel had curled into her, arm wrapped around his waist holding him close. "My apologies young lad.. They mean no harm, simply just appear and disappear type thing.." joker huffed scratching the back of his neck.
Her eyes glowed dangerously, head lowered against Ciel checking his asthma and heath. She was gonna kill Victor for sending us to this place, putting the kid in danger of a reaper and another demon. "It's perfectly fine. Tell me is there anyway I can share a tent with my son.. I do not feel comfortable sharing a tent with man such as black." she questioned Joker.
Joker hummed in thought, looking around the tents before smiling softly. "I can look into it for you love." he softly spoke ushering Snake off with the reptiles, allowing the two to separate but Ciel was still standing behind the girl wishing for her protection.

sometimes thinking about oc’s relationships is like ‘syre would do anything for ciel and would make a deal to keep his soul forever without a second thought’ and sometimes it’s like ‘and taiyin and venti share a bed, and venti sprawls out all over them in the night, but he weighs next to nothing so it’s fine, and taiyin wouldn’t mind that much even if he did.’

sᴇʙᴀsᴛɪᴀɴ ᴍɪᴄʜᴀᴇʟɪs x ᴏᴄ ᴠᴀᴍᴘɪʀᴇ
In the midst of a dense forest, I wandered for what felt like an eternity, my throat parched, and my body weary. My once pristine clothes were now tattered and stained with blood, a testament to the trials I had endured. As I stumbled through the undergrowth, each step a struggle against exhaustion, I prayed for respite.
"Just a moment's rest," I murmured to myself, collapsing against the gnarled trunk of an ancient tree. But when I awoke, the velvet sky adorned with shimmering stars betrayed the passing of more than just a few minutes.
Thirst clawed at my throat, a primal need demanding satisfaction. I staggered onward, driven by an insatiable hunger that gnawed at my very being. Finally, I emerged from the oppressive embrace of the forest, blinking in the dim light of a moonlit clearing.
A town lay before me, its cobblestone streets winding like veins through the heart of London. Every corner seemed to hold secrets, every alleyway a potential sanctuary. I approached a passerby, my voice a desperate plea in the night.
"Sir! Sir, I implore you, I am in dire need of assistance!"
The man's eyes widened in shock at the sight of me, my clothes torn and bloodied. But there was no time for explanations, only action.
"Quickly, take me to a secluded place where we may speak in private," I urged, my tone urgent yet laced with a hint of danger.
With a nod of understanding, the man led me to a shadowed alleyway, his concern overshadowed by a growing sense of curiosity. As he gently set me down, I wasted no time in revealing my true nature.
"So, my dear sir," I whispered, my voice low and hypnotic, "can you guess what comes next?"
Before he could comprehend the danger that lurked beneath my genteel facade, I sank my fangs into his flesh, the metallic tang of his blood flooding my senses. With each swallow, I felt a surge of power coursing through my veins, the hunger within me finally sated.
In the heart of Victorian London, amidst the gaslit streets and whispered secrets, a creature of the night found solace in the darkness, and a willing victim fell prey to the allure of the unknown.

Both of the men's eyes widened, mouth slightly open at what they had just heard. Ciel soon collected himself, blinking before he said anything else. “Your father? I’ll see what I can do. It’ll be helpful if I had more information, mind giving me some?”
Mavis looked down at the floor of the carriage before returning her gaze to the young Earl and Sebastian as she started. “You might’ve heard of him, Vogeljunge. My father, Marquis Fairview. He was a powerful full fledged demon. I don’t know how he met my human mother, he died before I got to know.” She paused for the both of them to register this info.
Ciel turned to his butler, “Does it ring a bell at all?”
With a gloved hand to his chin, Sebastian pondered. “Do you mean the Tungsten Demon?”
Mavis nodded. “I know that you represent a crow or a raven, but my father represented the Clouded Leopard. That’s why I’m able to swivel my joints like this-” She rotated her shoulders around, causing Ciel to cringe loudly and recoil. “Eugh! Stop that at once!”
She squinted and chuckled loudly.
Then, a thought popped into the boy's mind, gaze soon landing on Sebastian as he stared at Mavis with more intensity and interest. ‘Oh no.’ “Wait a minute-” He started, “Aren’t..aren’t leopards..c..cats?!” The look Sebastian had gave it away. “OH NO. No, no, no, no, no. It’s ONE thing for me to be allergic to them, but it's a whole other thing when I’ve just employed a Cat Demon!” He faltered, ‘soul’ seemingly leaving his body.
Mavis couldn’t help but chuckle softly. “So do I still have a job, Young Master?” She teased, smirking as this boy who acted like the world was beneath his foot melted into his cushioned seat. While she had the short fun with Ciel, Mavis stopped smirking when the nagging feeling of eyes boring into her very core was stuck on her body. Turning her head slowly, she saw Sebastian, stiffening slightly as his eyes were deadlocked into hers. She wasn’t expecting the man to have such an intense gaze, it was like he was staring at free food.
His eyes were glued to her body, silently taking in her features that slowly led to what she was saying was true. Her hair, though somewhat long, was slick and straight, except for the back that spiked upwards like a cactus. The odd coloration of her hair as well was a dead giveaway, a dreamy dark sky blue with black spots dotted throughout the strands. He remembered now when he saw her in the alley, how her hair ‘fluffed’ slightly in an attempt to make herself look bigger. Then it was the fangs, longer than his own when his barely peeked through his lips one of hers was far longer.
‘A cat demon, hmm?’ He thought, a smile forming on his lips. ‘Oh, I can't wait to play with this girl.’
“Anyway..You said something about imprisonment?”
“Ah, yes, when my father died I was taken by some Church. I was too young to fully understand what was really going on, all I remember from that day was him disappearing before my eyes.”
Ciel nodded. “As I said, I will look into it and do as much as I can.”
Mavis sighed. ‘I can tell by the way this boys' talking that he's serious..At least he’s better than the other one.’ She smiled, and held out a hand, which caught Ciel off guard but eventually took. “Deal.” Was all she said.
The rest of the ride was made in silence, other than the occasional question here and there. Soon Mavis caught sight of a large manor ahead. “I’m assuming that this is yours?” She asked Ciel who nodded. “Welcome to the Phantomhive Manor, Mavis.”
A small smile creased her lips. As quickly as the manor came into view, they were already up at the front entrance, stopping the carriage before a staircase leading to the main doors. Sebastian got out first, coming around the carriage and opening the door, allowing the young Master to come out first, followed by Mavis, who swatted Sebastian’s open hand for her to take. “Don't get any bright ideas. Or else this cat will come and eat the pesky bird.” She hissed and growled deeply. The sounds of her growls were equivalent to a tigers or a lions, though not as loud. Something that only Clouded Leopards can do.
Sebastian pulled his hand back and just eyed Mavis walking behind his master. A new feeling rushed through his body making him shiver ever so slightly. ‘She really is something else..’ He smirked.
The duo waited at the top of the stairs for the head butler to come back and open the door. As he did, Sebastian kept his eyes on Mavis, while she stared back. Hers not wavering with their emotion.
Grasping the doorknob, Sebastian opened the door and allowed the two to step inside.
Ciel’s manor wasn’t what Mavis was expecting. IN fact, it was much nicer than she had envisioned.
The checkered floor was waxed and polished till you could see your reflection, the air felt clean to breathe, and everything was well up to date and maintained. The last place she worked at had half, if not then 1/4th of the cleanliness that this manor has. “Wow..” She muttered, looking up at the ceiling, the wood up above was bloody polished too!!
Amidst her mesmerization Mavis’s ears picked up the sound of footsteps. Quick footsteps, and more than two pairs coming right for them.
She swirled her head just in time to see 3 new people rushing into the Grand Hall.
“The Young Master is back, yes he is!”
“Ah, and Mr.Sebastian too! Welcome back!”
“Oi, who's the lass?” A man, with blonde hair, scruffy facial hair, a cigarette in his mouth as a cooks uniform covered his body inquired, approaching the woman.
“This is Ms. Mavis Fairview, she will be our new butler, and your second boss.” Sebastian replied while removing Ciel’s coat, hat, and cane.
The chef walked up to Mavis’s face, hand on his chin. Smoke from his cigarette infiltrated her nose with a sharp pain.
“You sure that this is a woman, Sebastian? Looks kinda like a guy..” Silver colored eyes squinted at the man before pinching the burning end of his cigarette out after giving the tips of her fingers a quick lick. “I beg to differ.” She hissed lightly, causing the American to stamper back in surprise. “I-I’m so sorry Ms. Fairview!” He bowed. The woman just huffed and looked at the last 2. “W-Welcome Ms.Fairview!!” They said in unison.
Her lips pursed slightly. ‘Hmm..they’re rough around the edges, but they’re better than the last batch.’
“Mavis, that’s Baldroy, the Manors head chef.” Sebastian introduced the still stunned man. Then mentioned to the others. “And this, is Mey-Rin the house maid, she's..special, in her own way.” Mey-Rin nodded. “Yes, I tend to accidentally trip over my feet lots a times cause of my glasses..” She lightly adjusted them while blushing at how close the clad butler had gotten to her. “And finally this is the Gardner, Finny. He has some impeccable strength.” Finny just smiled.
The soft sounds of laughter from down below caught Sebastian’s attention. “Ah, terribly sorry, this is Tanaka, head butler of the previous Earl Phantomhive.” Tanaka chuckled, holding a yunomi (a tall tea cup from Japanese culture.)
“Its a pleasure to meet you all.” Mavis replied, bowing slightly in respect.
‘At least she knows some manners..some.’ Thought Sebastian. “Young Master, may I show Ms.Fairview to the servants quarters?” Ciel looked up at him, as his Butlers face tried to hide the temptation to get closer to the new woman only because of what she was. “No you may not. You’re coming with me so I can retire. Mey-Rin will show Mavis to her quarters.”
“Y-yes Master!” She piped up, clambering over to the woman and taking her hand then quickly dragging her away. “Finally another lady in the house! Honestly being the only woman here was suffocating, yes it was!” She smiled, surprising Mavis. Here she was expecting Ciel to allow Sebastian to show her to her room.
Him.
Who was a man.
But also a demon.
To show Mavis, a new employee, and a woman, to her room by himself. As if he couldn’t sense where she'd go if he didn't.
As the two left, Sebastian turned to the last two servants and excused them to rest for the night.
------------
Mey-Rin proudly walked the new employee to her new room, while also explaining some of the areas of the Phantomhive mansion that they passed by without giving Mavis a traditional tour. “Ah! Here we are!” She suddenly stopped in front of a door, making Mavis run into her. “Oops, my bad!”
She rubbed her nose lightly. “It's fine, I should’ve been paying attention.”
Mey-Rin opened the door for the new butler, allowing Mavis to go in first, then herself. “Since you’ll be Sebastian's second in command you get a slightly bigger room than the rest of us, ‘bigger’ only because you’ve got a walk in bathroom, yes you do!”
Mavis looked around, it was a simple get up, and a hell of a lot better than where she’s been sleeping recently. Especially her last job, they made her sleep like an animal. Not like she isn't one though, but still.
“Thank you Mey-Rin, I look forward to working with you tomorrow.” She bowed again, making the house maid blush lightly. “Y-yes of course! If you wish to bathe, there are towels in the dresser here. Goodnight, Ms.Fairview.” And then, Mavis was alone. ‘I wonder if shes a mind reader. I thought about bathing before sleeping in these over the top silk-cashmere sheets.’ She thought.
Meanwhile, Sebastian was undressing the young Earl, discussing about the day, more so about Mavis.
“Young Master? What are your thoughts on Ms.Fairview?” Sebastian perked up, folding the boys' day clothes neatly together. Ciel closed his one exposed eye, pondering. “I’m still unsure, but if what you say is true, that she’s a half demon, then that only leaves some other possibilities left. We shall see how she does tomorrow. For now, once you’re done here, bring her one of our extra butler suits.” He paused, turning to the servant. “Only. The suit.”
Sebastian smirked, and bowed with a hand to his ‘heart’, “Yes, my Lord.”
“Ah, much needed..” Mavis smirked, sinking into the bath water more. Only her upper torso was exposed, hair slightly damp from the steam, and a content smile on her lips. Warm baths were the best, being able to just sit in liquid warmth and not give a care in the world was so calming. Much better than waiting for rain, or swimming in the Thames.
That is, till her sensitive ears picked up the knock at her door. “If it's who I think it is, I'm not interested.” She blatantly spat out, now irritated that her peace was disturbed.
“I’m only here to deliver your new uniform, Ms.Fairview.”
Of course he is. With a slight growl, she pushed herself up and closed the bathroom door a little more before muttering, “Fine. But nothing else.”
With the door opening, Sebastian entered and noticed that the woman was bathing. He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t tempted to go in and join her.
“And please, drop the formality, just call me Mavis.” She barked. In return she heard a soft, “Of course, Mavis.” With the uniform now on the bed, Sebastian opened and closed the door.
Thinking he had left, Mavis returned to her ‘paradise’. Not noticing that she was purring softly from her comfort.
“My, you really are a Cat Demon aren’t you?”
Damn it. So much for paradise.
The woman squeaked, and let out a low hiss, further confirming Sebastian’s suspicions. He chuckled, leaning into the bathroom’s door frame. Her gaze immediately landed on the man, anger boiling slowly. “Watch your tongue. I am in no mood for chasing a bird around the manor right now.” She said with a knifes edge, adding into her seriousness. Sebastian just stood there chuckling to himself while Mavis sat vulnerable in the tub. She’s pretty much at the demon's mercy.
“And a defiant one at that. It's not often that other demons, humans even, are even remotely interesting. But you…something really intrigues me.” Sebastians’s words rolled off his tongue without any hesitation. “I’ve heard of half demons existing before, but nothing about them living into adulthood.” He smiled, eyes looking right into hers. “I’ll show you the mansion in the morning. For now, get some rest, little kitten.”
‘Kitten?!’ She inwardly screamed. To be called in such a derogatory way..it ticked her. But she did notice one thing while looking into Sebastian’s eyes. His eyes didn’t hold malice, or danger, not even a hint of a thought of doing something to ehr. Which caught her off guard, the demons she’s met before wanted her in every way possible, soul included. She’s grown used to those lustful eyes. But she didn't see it in this Raven Demon.
“Alright, thank you, Sebastian.” Was all she said, head turned away from him. This time, she actually heard him utter a soft ‘you’re welcome’ and then properly left the room. “Perverted bird brain..” Mavis said to herself.
After the nice bath, the need for rest soon came upon her body. Yes, while it is true that demons don't need to sleep, or wish to (typically), Mavis still had human ailments that she couldn't escape from. Exhaustion, illness, injury, instability, anything a human can get, she can too. She is also able to get seriously injured, while being able to still heal due to her demonic attribute, but it takes days for an injury like that to heal.
Slipping into some light night clothing, Mavis peeled the sheets of her new bed back and plopped herself down right in the middle of the mattress. The softness of the materials, and the hardly used bed below her easily allowed her to fall asleep.

What’s up. I too have gotten hooked on Black Butler. After 3 years of not being in the fandom anymore. I have a fanfic idea for you. It’s a Ciel x reader so it’s going to be more on the angst side but still fluffy and funny if you look at it from an angle. It’s Ciel. C’mon.
So basically the reader is very similar to him. Being that she also has intense trauma and is extremely stoic and cold. On the other hand she’s also considered eerie and ominous looking. Soon Ciel after a while starts having feeling for the reader, he sees her as someone who understands him completely and fully. Ciel starts showing that he’s interested in being in a more intimate relationship with the reader other then just being partners. The reader of course rejects all these moves even though she also likes him, not only because he’s engaged but because she knows he’s a manipulator. After a long time of driving Sebastian insane with the pinning and rejecting, Lizzy finds out about Ciel’s feelings for the reader and confronts both of them. She’s lightly bitterly and is crying at first but she does want Ciel to be happy and is good friends with the reader (and she’s an Angel) so she doesn’t hold him back. Now the reader and Ciel are in a situation where they can show there feeling for each other freely but have no idea where to start.
Just so that you have a small reference to what I mean by a stoic and eerie looking reader I have a drawing of my Black Butler OC that you can take notes from (you don’t have to just here if you want lmfao)
Tumblr media
Thank you, hopefully it’s not too long or complicated. You don’t have to write this if you don’t feel comfortable enough just tell me if you’re not going to write it or not. Have a good day!
Troubled Love - Ciel Phantomhive
Tumblr media
A/N: I’m so sorry this took so long! This is a long one that I wanted to take time on and work on when I felt like I could write this to the best of my ability. First of all, your drawing is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! I’m literally in love with it! I hope this turned out ok! I also completely skipped over the part where the reader is an angel and didn’t see it until I finished this, so I hope it’s ok that I left that bit out. Let me know if you’d like me to rewrite this properly <3
Warning/s: mentions of night terrors, mentions of panic attacks (no descriptions)
You had met the Earl Phantomhive around the time his parents had passed. You had met the Phantomhive through the grapevine of the Queen’s ‘guard dogs’, and didn’t really get to know the young boy until he returned, demon butler by his side. It was then the two of you were paired for missions. The Queen saw similarities between the two of you, and thought it would be well for you to become friends with the Earl.
You see, due to your past, you weren’t the most sociable person out there. You preferred to keep to yourself, and refrained from interacting with others as much as you could. It played in your favor that most feared you, both due to your reputation with the queen as well as the way you presented yourself. It was almost as if no one could touch you.
Until you officially met Ciel. The two of you worked well together. What you lacked in skill and intelligence, he made up for, and vice versa. It also helped that Sebastian was there. In fact, the demon butler and his master took a liking to you, even going as far as inviting you to stay at the Estate when they learned that you didn’t have an official residence. You agreed hesitantly. While you were comfortable around the two, you couldn’t bear the thought of being vulnerable around them. You were traumatized at a young age, leaving you plagued with nightmares and flashbacks from time to time. Opening yourself up to Ciel was a huge step for you, one you were unsure how to handle.
Ciel, on the other hand, was ecstatic. He’d never admit it, partially due to his personality and partially due to his engagement to Lizzy, but the Earl had begun developing feelings for you. It was more than a petty middle school crush that other boys his age experienced. He had been feeling this way for quite some time now, and couldn’t quite name his emotions until he spoke of it with Sebastian. It was worth the endless teasing that lasted weeks, but Ciel had now finally realized how much he truly loved you. And now you’re going to be living with him.
Ciel was unsure of how to show his love for you without a) making it obvious, and b) letting Lizzy know. Don’t get him wrong, Ciel truly did like Lizzy and he didn’t want to do anything to hurt her, but he loved you more than her. The boy opted to spend time with you doing small things, such as reading together or just simply sitting in the same room as you as the two of you worked separately. You were hesitant of all this at first, because you were used to being alone so often, but over time you became more comfortable.
This time spent between the two of you went from silence to small chatter. Ciel would ask how your day has been, and you’d answer then return the question. It took months of living together and getting accustomed to each other’s emotions to begin discussing deeper topics. You were both severely traumatized children who never learned how to cope with said trauma. Sure, Ciel had Sebastian, but he was a demon and therefore was incapable of feeling human emotions. So he tried talking to you.
Ciel wouldn’t ever say much about the death of his family or the events that came afterwards, but he wanted to be vulnerable around you. The boy hoped that this would bring the two of you even closer, and then he’d be comfortable enough to confess his love for you. Except every time he tried to have a deep conversation, you would turn him down almost immediately. There was one week in particular when you were having vivid night terrors, causing you to get only a few hours of sleep a night. You would wake up screaming until you couldn’t anymore, and often suffered intense panic attacks afterwards. Usually Sebastian would try and help but you would only push him away, barely muttering about how you were alright and didn’t need any help.
These night terrors always woke Ciel, and after the third night he came bursting into your room in the place of Sebastian. He desperately tried to calm you down, to try and talk to you, but you refused his help. It broke his heart to see you this way, and to know that you were unwilling to accept his help hurt him even more. How could the two of you be together if you wouldn’t let him help you?
The next day during breakfast, Ciel offered to let you speak to him anytime about anything you needed. Whether it be to get something off of your chest, or just to rant about anything, he would be there for you. You weren’t sure how you felt about his offer, so you only nodded and took a bite of your food.
The Earl Phantomhive invited you on an afternoon walk after dinner. At first you hesitantly agreed, only because Sebastian would be following closely. Yet once you saw the extravagant clothing the boy was wearing, you quickly retreated back to your room and feigned illness. It took some convincing, but Ciel finally left you to ‘recover’. In reality, you curled up on the floor, leaning against the door as you silently cried to yourself.
You were so torn between your emotions. It was blatantly obvious that Ciel saw you as more than just a friend, and he wanted to take your relationship to the next level. You wondered if your own emotions were just as easy to see. You wouldn’t admit it just yet, but you were beginning to fall for Ciel yourself. Although you hadn’t opened up much to the boy, it was easy to feel comfortable and see him. The two of you shared similar pasts, and you hadn’t met anyone else that made you feel as safe and comfortable as the Earl did.
Despite your feelings for the boy, there was one major red flag following closely behind him. Ciel was a master manipulator. It was clear as day that Ciel knew just how to act to get what he wanted, knew what to say to get his way. You weren’t even sure if he had manipulated you at some point, he was that good. Oh, and he’s also engaged.
You wanted to take Ciel up on all of his romantic gestures. You wanted to go on late night walks with him, go to balls (even though neither of you particularly enjoyed them), or even just spend the evening together almost every night of the week. Yet you couldn’t bring yourself to give in to the urge.
This carried on for months. Ciel would ‘discreetly’ ask you out on small dates, and you would turn him down and most commonly retreat to your room. Once you left, Ciel’s small smile would fall and he would immediately turn to Sebastian with downcast eyes.
Sebastian was the only one Ciel could confess to at this point. He couldn’t go to Izzy, obviously, and he couldn’t go to you, so he was left with his demon butler. It was a part of their bedtime routine now. Sebastian would dress Ciel for bed, asking him about his day and his plans for the next. Ciel would grumble about paperwork before quickly changing the subject to his failed attempts of asking you out. He’d seek advice from the demon before turning in for the night.
It wasn’t until six months after Ciel’s first attempt to ask you out that Lizzy was caught in the crossfire. It wasn’t intentional, and Ciel would have never said anything if he were aware of her presence.
Lizzy had planned another surprise visit and stay at the Phantomhive Manor. She had arrived later than expected due to an extreme thunderstorm causing a delay in travel. Upon arriving at the manor, she let herself in and immediately ran to where she assumed Ciel would be in his study as her maid carried in her baggage. Lizzy quickly but silently ran to Ciel’s study, throwing open the door.
“Ciel!” she squealed in the highest pitch her voice could achieve. “Supri– oh.” Lizzy frowned slightly when she noticed the empty room. It looked as though Ciel hadn’t been there in a while. Shaking her head, the girl grinned widely yet again when she could hear faint voices coming from down the hall. Upon further expectation, she realized the voices were coming from the library.
Elizabeth wasted no time in bursting into the room rather loudly, causing you and Ciel to quite literally jump out of your seats with fear. Ciel’s hand even ghosted over the firearm he had tucked into his boot.
“Ciel!” Lizzy squeals again. She runs over to the two of you, about to tackle the poor boy in a hug before realizing what was going on between the two of you.
You had to admit, this wasn’t the ideal position to see your fiance and your best friend in. It wasn't anything too terrible, but it could definitely raise some questions. You were practically laying in Ciel’s lap, your legs draped over his as your head rested against his shoulder. A book rested against your legs where Ciel was reading to you a mere moment ago. You both were dressed in your night clothes, and overall this was a very rare sight of Ciel.
Lizzy’s smile immediately dropped to a deep frown, her bright green eyes welling with tears. “Y/N? Ciel? What’s going on?”
You jumped out of Ciel’s lap and to the other side of the couch. Your heart was beating out of your chest, fear coursing through your veins. This is exactly why you never wanted to act on your feelings for Ciel, for fear of ruining not only his relationship with Lizzy, but also your own. “Lizzy,” Ciel says quickly, standing and tossing the forgotten book onto the couch. He tried to reach out to the girl but she only took a step back and wiped at her eyes.
“I should have seen it coming,” she chokes through a broken cry. “I knew this day would come.” It takes a moment for Lizzy to calm herself down, but she wipes the last of her tears away as Ciel tries to comfort her.
“It’s ok,” she cuts him off from his senseless babbling, pushing his outstretched arms away. “I’ve known for a long time that this day would come.” Glossy green eyes met your e/c ones as she smiled softly. “I can see how much the two of you love each other,” she confesses. “And as much as I love the two of you, I can’t bear knowing I am what is keeping you from being together.” Lizzy’s gaze shifted to her fiance. “I love you Ciel. So much that I want you to be happy.” Her warm hands slowly reached for his own, giving them a gentle squeeze. “So I’m ending our engagement.” Pressing one last kiss against Ciel’s cheek, Lizzy let go.
“I can only hope the best for the two of you.” Just like that, she was gone.
You and Ciel couldn’t bear to look at each other, let alone speak. You weren’t sure how to feel. You finally had the freedom to be with the man you were learning to love, yet at what cost? Did you just lose your best friend? What do you know? Ciel was asking himself the same questions. But it didn’t take long for him to drop beside you back on the couch, slowly turning to you.
“What do we do now?” you asked, voice barely above a whisper.
“I don’t know,” Ciel confessed. “To be honest, I think I need some time to process this.”
You nodded, then stood quickly. “Of course, I understand.” You retreated back to your bedroom as soon as possible, diving under the covers and staring at the ceiling. You were finally free to express your love for Ciel, yet unsure what the next steps were. It was going to take time to figure out your relationship status with the Earl, and what to do next, but it will be worth the wait.

Orwell Chess Actor!AU II
A/N: I am running with this idea that has consumed my brain instead of studying for chem exam.
The three Phantomhive actors have to periodically dye their hair to the ebony-blue shade b/c they didn’t like how the wigs looked on them. They also have to wear colored contacts—luckily for them, the costume director found a brand that didn’t irritate their eyes at all.
They’re also the most likely to be found sleeping around the set, particularly in the dormitory scenes—every child actor’s SnapChat story has one nap photo of the trio.
The scariest adult actors were Sebastian’s, Snape’s, and Mad-Eye Moody’s actors, but Sebastian’s was redeemed when he took off the red-colored contacts.
Malfoy’s actor had to put on sunscreen twice every hour if they were filming outside b/c he’d burn so easily. The other child actors (i.e. Harry’s) brought a thick black umbrella to shade him, and that quickly became a popular spot to hang out if they weren’t filming.
Snape’s actor is rather fond of the Phantomhive child actors, citing high praise for their acting ability (the trio just says that they act as spoiled as they can get). He’s actually in charge of them when they go on interviews, funnily enough.
When Viola Holmes’ actress comes on set for a cameo (b/c the HPHM TV is running at the same time for some reason), it’s the best day for the other child actors. She’s very good at handling them as she used to be a child actress herself.
Celaena’s actress had to learn BSL (British Sign Language) for the third season & Hermione & Draco’s actors basically joined her with no warning. There’s several scenes written in due to them picking it up.
Ron’s actor acc has the record for most wands broken b/c he puts it into his back jean pocket & forgets about it. He, then, proceeds to break them when he sits down.
