Legends Arceus is such a good game if you try to play it from a character's POV. I personally do it with most pokemon games because it's just a thing I've done since I was like seven I think BUT it just adds FLAVOR. Blorboify your experience.

Like. OK. Say you play as Akari but HC her as Dawn being isekai'd, partial memory wipe maybe if that's your jam. Does she choose Oshawott because it reminds her of Piplup at home, wherever home may be? Does she hear about Almighty Sinnoh and vaguely recall something about adventures with friends, something so close that she just can't quite grasp onto? Does she feel this... unease around Cyllene, even though she knows Cyllene has done nothing but be helpful and stand up for her so far?

Currently in my playthrough, Playing as Drew and having this immense adverse gut reaction to Melli? Frowning at Akari, knowing she seems familiar from... somewhere, assuming Drew and Dawn have crossed paths coordinating. Or him seeing Irida's red headbandy thing and short bobbed hair, and feeling this jolt of familiarity that he feels like he should know like the back of his hand? Picking wildflowers in Cobalt Coastlands, trying to grasp onto fleeting memories of flowers and conversations on far-off beaches?

A funnier option: Playing as Ash, being surrounded by people you vaguely swear you know one way or another but having to deal with the fact that to them you're just some guy that fell out of the sky?

Possibly the funniest: Playing as Iris/Cilan/whoever in Unova and seeing Ingo like HEY WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE

Currently I've been seeing a lot of people claim that Elesa is Lacey's mom or that Clay can't be her father. But I have evidence that disproves the former and evidence that proves the latter, as well as evidence of who Lacey's mom could actually be.

For starters, the line that people keep using as evidence that Elesa IS Lacey's mom doesn't even exist. Lacey never says it.

The other piece of evidence people use is that Lacey uses a Plusle and Minun in the first battle you have with her. However I think this is likely just to demonstrate that BBA exclusively does double battles. Plusle and Minun were introduced in gen 3 alongside double battles. Their abilities, Plus and Minus (abilities also being introduced in gen 3) benefit from being on the field together. With Lacey liking cute Pokémon it makes sense that she'd pick them to use occasionally.

Lastly, her home town is Nimbasa. However it's important to note that Nimbasa is only a short road and a bridge away from Driftveil. It's likely that Clay just lives in Nimbasa and goes to Driftveil for work, rather than living in Driftveil. Her living in Nimbasa doesn't automatically make Elesa her mother.

Next, I have evidence for why Clay is ABSOLUTELY Lacey's father. Starting with looking at appearances. Game Freak loves making it obvious when a character is related to other characters. They tend to look very similar. The only thing we know for sure is that Lacey's father is a Unovan gym leader. The male gym leaders in Unova are as follows:

Cilan

Chili

Cress

Burgh

Clay

Brycen

Drayden

Cheren

Marlon

We can already rule out the Striaton trio, as they're way too young to be having any children. We can rule out Drayden as well, as it's pretty obvious that Drayton is meant to be related to him in some way. If Lacey was also related to him, either her or Drayton would have mentioned it. That leaves Burgh, Clay, Brycen, Cheren, and Marlon as possible candidates. Based on appearances, Lacey shares the most similarities with...Clay. I've circled them here:

Finally, we have the obvious. Lacey's ace is Excadrill. The same as Clay.

Now, I believe I know who Lacey's mother may be. Of course I'm not claiming this as canon. Until Gamefreak decides to confirm anything (if they ever do), this is really just a headcanon.

Now, many people believe that Lacey's mother cannot be a gym leader, as Cyrano only mentions her father being a gym leader, not both parents. However, it's likely that he only mentioned her father because he's from Unova, and Lacey's mother is a gym leader from a different region. It's possible he's just not very familiar with other regions and their gym leaders.

Now which region is Lacey's mother from, you ask? Well, none other than our very own Paldea!

I propose that Lacey's mother is...

Tulip!

Now, I wouldn't just make a claim without evidence, so here's my evidence!

Now like I said, I'm not claiming this to be cannon. But the resemblance is VERY striking that I couldn't just ignore the similarities between the two. So, unless Gamefreak decides to reveal Lacey's mom and it isn't Tulip, my headcanon is that Tulip is Lacey's mother.

Can I project for a second?

What if the reason that Iris acts rude at first is because she just thinks that's how social interactions are supposed to go?

Because that's how I was as a (autistic) kid - my classmates picked on me and were popular and well-liked, so at some point I figured that if I started picking on my classmates, then people would laugh along and begin to like me.

Safe to say, that did not happen and I learned better, lol.

But think about how Iris only had one friend from her hometown growing up, and how she struggled to fit in with her classmates because she was seen as a "troublemaker."

To be fair, the flashbacks only show other students politely refusing to play with her. But if I fill in the blanks with students whispering, snickering and making jabs at her when she "acted out" in class, then her early-series behavior - like calling Ash a little kid an excessive amount - starts to make more sense to me.

And although Ash bickers with her at times, his and Cilan's kindness proves to Iris that no, social interaction doesn't have to go like that, that it's okay for her to let her walls come down and be vulnerable!!

This is just a loose idea I have, so no worries if you don't agree! I just love how complex Iris's character is and I relate to a bunch of it. Whatever you think, there's way more depth to it all than her just being mean for the sake of it, and I wish more people appreciated that!

So I’m taking this and running with it because you didn’t clarify what kind of headcanons. So Ash is defiantly aged in this one

Cilan is the one who gets Ash into weed. Not even smoking but just edibles.

Ash got his ass rocked by a Seismitoad while fucking around in a muddy pond. it was under the water and he stepped directly on it's head by complete accident. he kept whining about the bruises so Cilan gave him a 5mlg just so he would stfu.

he's introduced to Mario Kart and Sonic somehow in between going through Castelia City and Nimbasa City

Ash has already started to box and dance before he get's to Unova so he ask's if the Nimbasa Twin's wanted to rumble around after their dual battle with him and Cilan.

Emmet refuses but Ingo takes Ash on and quickly becomes he best sparring partner Ash has ever had so far. in the end Ash extends his stay in the city for just a full day of boxing with Ingo, thankful that the man took a day off to do so.

if Alder was asked who he favored the most out of all the trainer's he met during that year, he'd pick Cilan without hesitation. Ash is a close second but Alder doesn't like how quick to anger he is, especially when trip's around.

Unova as a whole is defiantly a trail in patience for Ash. since Pikachu's aren't native to Unova a lot of rich people or influencer's try to put a price on the Pokémon. wanting Pikachu for their own gains.

it take's everything in Ash not to swing at Iris near the middle of their travels because she hadn't dropped the 'kid' thing yet. in reality he doesn't lift a finger but mentally Iris has most likely died at least thrice by now.

the reason why is most likely related back when he was traveling through Kanto and how Misty bit at his heels for acting like such a kid despite Ash being 10 years old. he feels guilty that Misty and Brock both had to grow up fast but that doesn't mean Ash has too. he's learned it's better to let the insult roll off his back and not put to much wind to the flames but Iris just won't give up.

Iris had grown up quickly as well despite being a year and a half younger then Ash and about three years younger then Cilan. she's jealous that could see the world through rose colored glasses and take them off when things start to get serious.

she doesn't realize that she can do that too until much later, like around the time when Ash is in Alola for a time frame, but it's hard for her to do.

both Iris and Ash realize that Cilan's a mean and sassy drunk, he's like a year older then the legal age drinking limit in Unova, until they get knocked out of the league during the final battles. sitting by the green haired chef who's somehow gathered a group of people so they could just shit talk.

it's definitely the first time Iris and Ash has seen this so their off to the side. contemplating on whether or not to approach their friend or not. choosing to just stay in ear shot and keeping Cilan in their eye sights in case the chef bolts off to somewhere.

Ash ends up tasering Trip at some point during the entire Unova arc. no one knows how it happened and Trip actively refuses to even speak to Ash and his friends afterwards for a while.

Ash and Iris originally thought that there was some hella sexual tension between Cilan and Burgundy only to realize that it went deeper then that.

apparently Burgundy liked another connoisseur girl that was a rank above her but that girl liked Cilan instead of Burgundy. the girl publicly turned down Burgundy before going and also publicly asking Cilan for a date.

what Burgundy doesn't know is that Cilan had left mid date after realizing just how bad the girl was. absolutely clueless about what happened to Burgundy.

Iris knows most of the story but Ash is the one who knows all of it. they both agree it's 'not their turf' so they don't bringing anything up.

Ash and Georgia are so neutral towards each other that if they were left alone in a room, it would be completely silent because they would just ignore each other.

Elsa's Tynamo has a thing for Ash's Pikachu after their gym battle and it takes a while to peel the eel Pokémon off of Pikachu after it gets healed up.

Rating how likely Ash's companions are to date him

Starting from the beginning

Misty 5/10 I think theyd date for like a month straight except Ash would not realize any of their excursions were dates nor would he know they are dating. He'd only find out via her kissing him after like the 5th date and then there'd be this big embarrassing revelation, and the two would immediately choose to pretend none of this had ever happened.

Brock 0/10 he is a whole 5 years older and strictly into women

Tracey 0/10 approximately 5 years older than Ash and therefore he'd never consider it but i do think hes bisexual and i just need to put that out there.

May 0/10 they are SO siblings core you cannot convince me otherwise. I will fight you if you say otherwise.

Max 2/10 Max would have one of those cute younger kid crushes on Ash if not for the fact that Max is too smart for that

Dawn 7/10 its very obvious to everyone around them that they are dating and actively so. But both of them think this is normal friend behavior. But eventually Dawn realizes shes just been using him cuz of her own comphet and shes actually a lesbian. He didnt even notice tho so honestly its fine. They have a conversation about it and the phrase "no need to worry" gets used no less than 3 times

Iris -12/10 the mere idea of going on a date with Ash would make her vomit

Cilan 0/10 hes even older than brock

Serena 4/10 like she obvi has that crush on him so she wants to date him. However I think she'd be way more clear in asking him out. And would probs not count any potentially datelike excursions as dating cuz she wants him to be 100% aware and into her too. Unfortunately for her this will never happen cuz hes gay.

5 reasons I love Negaishipping

1. Iris and Ash’s dynamic

The main reason I like Negaishipping is that Ash and Iris are both playful, spirited and fiery, and you don’t have to change either of their characters to envision them together. They share a similar goal (Pokemon Master and Dragon master - respectively), they’re skilled battlers, both adore Pokemon, and they share a love for travelling and exploring. Whenever Cilan is busy (with cooking, for example), Ash and Iris are seen swinging on vines, playing around or battling.

One could argue Iris is harsh towards Ash, like calling him a kid. I’d like to clarify that her “kid” comment comes from Iris’ insecurity - as shown later in the BW anime. Iris had a bad experience when she went to school - unable to make friends. So when she met Ash, she was afraid to express herself fully. It’s only with Ash and Cilan’s friendship she was able to open herself up and bloom.

Now does trauma excuse picking on others? No! Which is why the narrative never paints Iris as being right in calling Ash a kid. Usually she is seen being just as excited as Ash is - or Ash/ Cilan calls her out on her childishness.

2. How supportive they are of each other

Ash knows he won’t  need a backup plan because he knows and trusts in Iris’ abilities to calm down Dragonite.

This has happened another time too - in BW episode 27. Ash is the only one to trust in Iris’ ability to read Dragon Type’s hearts, even when Cilan and the others brushed her off.

Look at how sure she is of him aww

Cilan being the reasonable sommelier while Ash is biased af. We love to see it

Iris has proved plenty of times that she can take care of herself - and even jumps after Ash when he is in danger. That still doesn’t stop Ash from throwing a protecting arm over her (❁´◡`❁)

Iris happily staying awake to help Ash take care of Scraggy (Axew is helping out, too!)

Helping out by playing with the Pokemon so Ash can help Oshawott train!

Roxie’s fanbase works hard, but Iris works harder

Cheering alone isn’t working, so Iris dresses up and puts on make-up - and drags Cilan along, too! All to ensure that Ash wins the battle!

3. Their cute date in Nimbasa City

I love everything about this episode

Ash rejected an opportunity to battle the subway masters just to go have fun with Iris

They watched a football game

Had a tennis match

Watched a musical

And had ice cream

They were about to head to to the ferris wheel as well, but had to help out a lost Axew. All in all, it’s nice to see them goof off and just have fun together.

4. Their reunion

I love everything about this episode. From how Pikachu was super excited to meet Iris from the get go - and even noticed her scent on the letter she sent to Ash!

Ash hurrying to Unova to meet up with Iris. While Goh ran to catch pokemon, Ash went straight ahead to Opelucid gym

Ash yelling Iris’ name excitedly while running ahead

Pikachu excitedly greeting her by jumping and nuzzling her cheek.

Iris happily announcing she’s champion now - and getting even more happy that surprise worked perfectly. Ash even blushes ddkjhgdjgdfg

Getting lost in each other multiple times- and Drayden and Goh has to snap them out of it respectively 

Helping Dragonite enjoy battling - even if that means giving Ash an advantage.

They are so compatible, aww

5. Their Pokemon

Another bonus of Negai is that their pokemon are dynamic and share different kind of bonds together. I’d say Best Wishes’ strong suit is giving the characters engaging and lively personalities - and Ash and Iris’ pokemon are no different

Since I watch Pokemon mainy for the Pokemon, it’s nice that my OTP has pokemon that also mesh well together (even if they are rivals).

Nice to see that Iris consider Ash close enough to call their pokemon “brothers” 

Axew and Scraggy are best friends / rivals!

Emolga and Snivy have a rivalry going on

Same do Iris’ Dragonite and Ash’s Charizard

Ash’s Dragonite approves of Iris’ (I looove the detail of the antennas shaping a heart) Brock said a pokemon often reflect the trainer’s true feelings, so does this mean ... ? jkjk!!! XD But we can conclude that Ash and Iris, no matter if you ship them romantically or platonically, share a wonderful bond.

black and white 3: Gym Challenge

Unova is the only region to show more than 8 gyms in both the games and the anime so I think it’s be awesome to have the be the first to have more than 8 gyms for the player to challenge.

New Things

Pick up the trend of having no set Gym Order, but have the player able to pick from 3 home towns, one on each peninsula(?). Typically what ever gyms closest to it would be the player’s “First” gym but it isn’t entirely necessary to do so.

The hometown of the player is based on the Starter selected, as Prof. Bianca (Aspen) has shipped the pokemon to you with a note to meet her to get a newly minted pokedex.

Traveling across Unova is made easier as you can travel around across Unova via Gear Station early on OR the newly introduced Braviary/Mandibuzz Taxi

the Taxi Cab drivers and Depot Agents hate each others guts with a BURNING passion

There is also the Cirrus Ferry: boat that transports people from Virbank to Castelia and vice-versa

here’s where you would see Roxie’s dad as Captain as one of the boats, having found this a more reliable source of income than fishing

You only need 8 badges but Each Gym offers a TM/HM that the player may or may not want/need to explore Unova

The number of Gym Badges a player has determines the difficulty of the Gym Trainers and the Gym Leader’s Team (like how it’s implied to be in the manga/anime)

Not sure if ya mean as of now or includin' those from a coupla years ago. Might as well do both; never hurts ta cover all bases. This is... Pretty damn long, just warnin' y'all.

•The Striaton trio (think their individual names were Cress, Chili an' Cilan) kinda depended too much on each other. Guess that just comes with bein' a triplet, but I'm pretty sure that's a big weakness fer all three of them. They're so confident someone has their back that they ain't got plans for when no one can back them up.

•Honestly I wasn't too sure about Cheren at first; kid was goal-driven when I first met him on his Gym challenge. Which is admirable, and I'd been there, but he was a little too much so. Didn't think much about what he'd do after becomin' Champion; hell, I don't think he even knew why he was goin' for it so hard. Thank goodness for Lenora.

•Speakin' of, she and Hawes are... Wouldn't say close friends, haven't known em as long as I have, say, Joe, but decent enough associates. I've donated fossils to their museum on numerous occasions, and the woman treats each one with care, even before they're revived. Very strong willed and not afraid ta speak her mind or argue her case. Always good ta have someone like that on yer side! And even though he don't count as part of the League, Hawes is a very thorough researcher. Also knows a ridiculous amount of trivial things. Seriously, who needs to know what an aglet is?

•Anyway, Roxie is a bit of an odd one. My first impression of her made me think she was just a loud little punk, but she's actually surprisingly responsible. Thought she'd prioritize her band above Virbank, but girl has no problems wit puttin' that aside until Virbank's problems are solved. Still ain't a big fan of her music, but that's more personal tastes.

•Most creative types tend to be eccentric almost to the point a' hysterics, but Burgh is surprisingly calm. Keeps his cool 'n most situations, an' I can probably count the times I've heard him raise his voice on one hand. His Gym designs are out there, almost to be expected, but hey, least he ain't jumpin' off windmills right?

•Elesa is incredibly no-nonsense, an' with a stubborn streak ta rival Lenora. Very much a good problem solver, and accomplished a lot on her own very quickly. And on top a' that, able to keep succeedin', or at least minimize losses. That's the hardest part 'n businesses like hers (and mine, but different areas entirely).

•Skyla's a good girl--bit airheaded at times, 'f you'll pardon the pun, but loyal and ain't afraid ta help someone through tough times. Livin' as close to the Celestial Tower will probably do that.

•I'll be honest, Brycen was a bit of a strange one fer me. He's not bad, but he could be... Well, pretty damn dramatic. Not that Burgh doesn't sometimes have moments, but Burgh's theatrics are usually... How ta put this, quieter and somewhat predictable? Whereas Brycen could easily jump from one end a' the spectrum to the next quicker 'n you could blink. Made it hard ta really read him.

•Drayden... Is a good mayor, and an intimidatin' Gym Leader. To be expected when ya decide to work wit Dragon types. But there've been times where I don't think he focuses on himself enough. I don't even mean the wrestlin' dragons bit, I'm talkin' about how he tends to ignore his own problems in favor of helpin' others with their own. Which I can admire, he's helped me out of a slump once, but sometimes ya got to give yerself time to address a personal problem before it gets worse.

•Marlon is a good kid. Good heart, even if he ain't the sharpest pick 'n the box. Or the most alert, fer that matter.

•Marshall struck me as a bit compulsive at first, but he's actually got quite the quick-thinkin' head on his shoulders.

•No hard feelings against her, but there are times where Caitlyn can come off as... Uncaring, which irks me. I understand that probably ain't her fault, but it's one a' those things that makes me glad ta not work with her too often.

•Not fond of Grimsley's penchant fer risk, but as long as it ain't my money on the line I won't throw mud on him for it.

•Shauntal's a smart girl, but sometimes she talks too damn fast. Her writing's good according to some of my workers though.

•Alder was a bit too laid back as Champion in my opinion, but then again I do understand his reasoning for travelin' around the region instead a' stayin' cooped up with paperwork. Probably helped him understand folks more, which is a key element in a good Champion.

•And finally, Iris. I think she can be a bit hotheaded and impulsive at times, but that can be said for a lot of kids. And becomin' Champion certainly calmed her down a tad. Yer doin'great so far sweetheart, keep it up.

Pokeani characters at ur moms house

Brock: Take a wild fucking guess.

Misty and Max: Physically restraining Brock; trying to get him to stop hitting on your mom.

Ash and Dawn: Keep picking up all the photos and knick-knacks on the shelves and going "ooh pretty!!"

Cilan: Side-eyeing Ash and Dawn, trying to subtly beg them to cut it out. It's not working.

Gary: Saying something under his breath about how "my milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard."

Lillie: Scolds Gary for being sexist and gross.

Lana: Congratulates Gary on his milkshakes.

Goh and Chloe: Sitting on the couch in introverted silence, ready to go home now.

May: Raided the pantry for snacks without asking permission.

Paul: Was hiding in the pantry until May got there. Annoyed at the prospect of having to exist in the same space as other people. Plops himself in between Chloe and Goh but says nothing.

Iris: In ur mom's bed (having an age-appropriate pillow fight with Bonnie).

Conway: On a ladder, peeking through the bedroom window, clearly up to no good. Apparently not dissuaded by the sight of Bonnie and Iris's pillow fight.

Bonnie: Notices Conway and opens the window to give him a shove. He's now at the hospital with several fractures (deserved).

Serena, Kiawe and Mallow: Actually making friendly conversation with ur mom, genuinely interested in what she has to say.

Clemont and Sophocles: Messing with the settings on the smart TV, downloading apps that no one who actually lives there will ever use.

Drew: Examining the flower vases to see if there are any roses he can steal. For reasons.

Dawn: Finds a vase with a rose in it and goes to bring it to Drew, but trips over someone's foot and drops it. There's now broken glass and dirt all over the floor.

Tracey: Already found the broom and dustpan and has his hair slicked back. He's on the case, ready to remedy the situation in a timely manner.

Brock: Attempts to sweep everything up with his hands in a bid to impress ur mom. Now has cuts all over his fingers.

Misty: Helps Brock bandage his fingers, all while saying something about "sweet sweet karma."

Harley: Amidst the chaos, is swapping the family photos with replicas where he photoshopped his face over ur mom's. Just for shits and giggles.
