I find it really sad that I need a heating blanket in the summer.

But I find it extra sad that my heating blanket stopped working.

I have circulation and nerve issues that mean once I get cold, especially in my legs, only external heat can warm me up. A regular blanket or layers won’t do anything and I’ll still be freezing. My skin often feels like ice to touch and when this happens, I get really violently sick. A warm bath or heating blanket seems to work.

I can’t afford a new heating blanket right now. Does anyone with similar issues have suggestions on how to warm up without needing constant baths? Because that is also expensive. But it is so uncomfortable to be sick and in pain from being so cold.

Random side note - I bet I’m not alone in this and now I wish I could get a heating blanket covered through medical coverage. Dang.

Edit: thank you for the ideas! I’ll be trying the hot water bottle under a blanket thing! And also, someone sent me money on kofi towards a new heating blanket which is so incredibly sweet. So thank you!

William Harvey's Discovery of Blood Circulation

The human body's system of blood circulation was discovered by the English physician and anatomist William Harvey (1578-1657) in 1628. Harvey determined the relationship between the blood system of arteries and veins and the regular contractions of the heart. The discovery, one of the most important in the Scientific Revolution, replaced the prevailing views on the blood system, which had been held since antiquity. Harvey's work inspired further studies of the circulatory system, particularly the connection with the lungs, while his method of using experimentation and evidence to support his theory became standard scientific practice.

My circulation is awful, like i can't even cross my legs for a few minutes without one of my legs falling asleep, or have a certain part of my elbow resting on anything (even a fucking pillow) without the side of my hand falling asleep, and my hands and feet get really cold, like sometimes when i'm trying to go to sleep my feet will be so cold that i can't, even if i have thick socks on and/or have my blanket wrapped around them, it's awful, and my hands nearly always cold, thankfully it isn't as annoying as my feet being cold, i can't even check my temperature with my hands cause they're always cold and so it always makes it seem as if i have a fever even when i have a perfectly good temperature, the one upside of my hands being cold tho is that if my face feels too warm i can use my hands to mitigate that
