Some cool birds I saw on a uni trip in the Alcazar de San Juan lakes. Definitely the best thing I've ever seen in Ciudad Real. Also it was really cool seeing wild flamingos.
Yesterday I was visiting this magnificent site located in the province of Ciudad Real. It is one of those unknown gems that are scattered throughout our country and that are not as famous as others but that keep a lot of history among their stones and that are worth a visit.
Former Templar fortress of the Order of Calatrava, intended to stop the advance of the Arabs during the Reconquest and which, later, during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs, became a Monastery. In its decline it was a victim of the great Lisbon earthquake in 1755 because the aftershocks reached here.
Currently, after a series of restoration and consolidation campaigns, it has an interesting tour explaining what life was like in a castle-fortress.
Accompanied by good footwear and the courage to climb slopes, you will be surprised.
@jackredfieldwasmyjacob The voting results from Castilla-La Mancha (×) in the elections for the Autonomous community's government, in general PSOE was the most voted party, although it's scary to see Vox getting more votes that in the previous voting and being the most voted party in 5 towns, although in two towns from Guadalajara, Unidas Podemos was the most voted party, Albendiego and Zarzuela de Jadraque you're doing amazing sweetie (they're very small towns, Albendiego has around 46 inhabitants and Zarzuela de Jadraque has 38).
Btw Sánchez has set a new date for the General Elections, instead of 10th December, it will be on 23th July.

“The Motilla del Azuer (Daimiel, Ciudad Real, Spain) is the most representative archaeological site of the Bronze Age in La Mancha region (2200-1300 BC). The term ‘motilla’ refers to a fortified settlement that is surrounded by a flat landscape, being the Motilla del Azuer its best-known example.
Nowadays the best-preserved part of the site is the fortified enclosure which contains a complex defensive system made up of concentric walls that belong to different construction stages. As central features, an impressive tower and a deep, open-air well where the water necessary for daily life was gathered.”

Calzada de Oropesa-> Unión de Ciudadanos Independientes (UICN)
