inspired by the 7 comfort movies tag post i decided i wanted to make one for video games! tag 7 people and list 7 comfort video games!
1) disco elysium (there is something so comforting about seeing me and my best friend in two middle aged miserable pixelated dudes having a supernatural detective adventure)
2) the witcher 3 (but also the whole series i just like the third one better)
3) stardew valley
4) uncharted series
5) yakuza series in its entirety but especially 0
6) red dead redemption 2
7) civilization 6
tagging: @kulemii @kuukigajan @kylorens @dontymon @all-sanity-is-now-beyond-me @dpurut @luis-serras but everyone who wants to do is greatly encouraged the tag list is a formality lmao
I used to play civ 4 a lot (eh moderate amount) in high school and my main was Alexander the Great and I really liked playing with standard - larger sized maps and I swear to god every time I played a game where America spawned into the world they were in last place the ENTIRE game.
Every.
Single.
Time.
One time I even accidentally made an American Diaspora by defeating all the American cities/land but for some reason this didn’t trigger the game to recognize America as an extinct civilization and instead kept George Washington on the board as a leader of a landless civilization with the lowest possible score
me, every time i open civ 6, knowing its a damn like: "ok time for a quick game. i wont spend 40-50 hours over a period of two weeks on this one this time, prommy"
"average civ builds 3 walls an era" factoid actualy just statistical error. average civ builds 0 walls per era. Spiders Georgia, who lives in hills & builds over 10,000 each turn, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
Weird Domination Victory tonight on Civ6. Entirely Loyalty pressure based...
I played Gaul.
First Arabia and England (and a handful of city states) had no place to settle, I had a nice ring going on the coast, so I gave Arabia a poorly placed interior city. England settled London before I gave them a city. London was settled in a not so great area as well, given that I had land locked them next to a volcano and in a desert.
Gandhi folded under the pressure of being too close to three of my cities. Swooped in and picked up Delhi after the rebellion.
Kept on building up my cites and sending out scouts while Arabia and England slowly devolved into rebellion, and then reclaimed my gifted city and took London.
By this time, my scouts had found France and Sweden, so I sent some settlers their way to settle in a ring around Paris and Stockholm.
After a pronounced wait, Catherine folded first, I snatched Paris, and twenty turns later, as Stockholm rebelled, I was awarded a Domination Victory without becoming a warmonger.
