Was asked to draw an interaction between Joseph & Hol Horse with Hol Horse puzzled about the amazing power of “hamon”. And of course, Joseph loving to have an audience, is recounting how he bested one of the infamous Pillar Men with his Clacker Volley.
Trade with @mysteriousdragon2 ヽ(•̀ω•́ )ゝ✧ - thank you so much for the fun trade!
"If you could make a JJBA game, what genre would it be (eg. puzzle, RPG, sidescroller, etc.)?"
Now that I'm updating this reply, first things out of the way: rest in peace JoJo's Pitter Patter Pop! because you were a perfect little game and I loved playing you every single day for as long as I had you. Match 3 type games are my delight and this game had just about everything I wanted from a JJBA game.
That being said, I love sidescrollers, and if I could make anything, I would go for a JJBA version of The Lost Vikings.
For those who had never played the game, The Lost Vikings (and its sequel) featured three main characters, each of whom had two unique skills: one could run really fast and clear obstacles by bashing them like a battering ram, another could use a sword and shoot arrows from his bow, and the third one had a shield that he could use to block attacks as well as glide through the air. In order to get through a ton of levels and beat the final boss, these three characters had to cooperate in turns, which meant that you switched between them to complete puzzles, sometimes part by part and other times in rapid succession. Whatever you did, you had to get all three of them to the exit, else the next level would not unlock. I loved getting through puzzles and challenges with the Vikings, and I think this game mechanic would work perfectly with JJBA characters because the Ripple and the various Stands could be their unique skills!
Here are some examples (La Squadra and bonus JoJos):
Risotto + Metallica: Ability to pull or push metal objects; could create and shoot knife projectiles as an attack.
Formaggio + Little Feet: Ability to shrink, which means Formaggio can get through small openings; he could also shrink certain objects to pick them up and resize them later if necessary.
Prosciutto + Grateful Dead: Ability to instantly kill enemies (and teammates) if they are on screen and destroy living barriers.
Pesci + Beach Boy: Ability to manipulate out-of-reach objects or snag and detain enemies with his hook.
Ghiaccio + White Album: Ability to create ice trails or platforms that he can skate across; he could also be a defender due to the armor.
Melone + Baby Face: Ability to interact with any eletronic interfaces; he could also tag enemies to create a Junior, but this is a risky move and takes time.
Illuso + Man In The Mirror: Ability to teleport between two reflective surfaces (this is automatic and based on level design). He could also detain enemies in these surfaces for a short period of time.
Sorbet + Gelato: Ability to work as a team of two; think one standing on the other's shoulders to get onto a higher platform. Might also carry weapons and jump enemies.
BONUS:
Jonathan + the Ripple: Ability to use the Ripple in open areas with sunlight; otherwise he attacks with Pluck.
Joseph + the Ripple: Ability to use the Ripple in open areas with sunlight; otherwise he does ranged attacks with the Clacker Volley.
Jotaro + Star Platinum: Ability to stop time so he can reposition himself or his teammates; can use Star Finger to activate out-of-reach objects.
Josuke + Crazy Diamond: Ability to heal teammates completely at the cost of some of his own health; able to fix broken objects.
Giorno + Gold Experience: Ability to turn certain inanimate objects into living things, such as transforming an object at the base of a tall wall into a vine that he can then use as a ladder.
Jolyne + Stone Free: Ability to use her string to climb onto high platforms or dissolve into string and get through loose obstacles like prison bars.
ALL THIS AND MANY MORE, IN ALL SORTS OF COMBINATIONS:
Since The Lost Vikings was about three characters cooperating, I would basically want this game to feature three characters at a time. Perhaps there is a story mode where you go through several arcs featuring different characters, which gives you a fun plot to follow and shows you examples of different skill dynamics, and then you would get to unlock arcade mode and a level editor where you can create your own levels and select which characters you want to play with! You would start by selecting the characters, of course, and the editor would periodically perform a check to make sure that you are creating interactive objects and obstacles that are actually beatable by one of the characters. If you swapped out any of the characters later, the editor would mark all obstacles that are now unbeatable so you could change them to something else and make the game playable again. I think it would be a huge hit.
I really should've mentioned this sooner but "what" is up with the quote marks being used for emphasis in this part? Had diagonal letters not been invented in the 1890s?
Alright so in addition to stands and whatever Gyro is doing with his clacker volley, this part also just has Grappler Baki style physiology-magic. I can roll with this.
Who needs the power to command fire or whatever when u have a little guy who tells u to believe in yourself?
okay I get the idea here (and it's nicely set up, we've been hearing about the Santana winds for this whole first leg of the race) but surely if it's making his cloak billow out behind him, that would also mean that it's pushing him backwards rather than forwards?
Stephen Steel, poor irish immigrant who became a circus performer and eventually gets rich because a bunch of people (probably) running a separate scam hand him a ginormous pile of cash to excecute a ridiculous idea he had, also fits into this theme of the American Dream being accessible to people who are outcasts from society.
He... also seems to be trying to marry a woman many many years younger than him, but y'know, you don't need to be a perfect guy to fit into a theme.
Fun real fact: The first video(ish) cameras were in fact invented to document horse-running! Specifically to settle a bet about whether all their feet simultaneously leave the ground
Important rules update: You cannot use a weapon to impede other riders. Or, y'know, at least the judges don't like it when you do and might apply a penalty to you. Going down 20 places in the finishing ranking is fairly severe but I might expect someone to just be disqualified for that! Which apparently would normally happen but if you're cool and mysterious enough you can get a pass.
I don't understand how this spinning stuff works. I feel like I'm probably not going to for quite a while.
Alright, alright, alright. I know y'all got your requests in, and I AM working on them, I swear. But let me just-
I got these clackers you can buy at the Dollar Tree and I've just been playing with it all day since I found it in my bucket of junk. Not only that, Benjamin the cat is enjoying them very much as well. I keep clacking them and whispering like a madman "Clacker volley."
