What's Rebirth?

Rebirth is an AU based on the game Sky: Children of the Light! The base premise of the game is that a cluster of connected worlds, now in ruin and disarray from previous glory ages, have needed guiding hands to help cleanse the lands and bring life back to them. The spirits from the worlds, back in their heydays, send new souls down from the stars to help regrow the world to some shimmer of its former light. There's a very common ritual of collecting chunks of light, and bringing them to be released back into the stars, thus freeing past light children that have suffered during the quest.

Rebirth follows the loose plot given within canon game lore (which isn't saying a lot, the lore is few and far between), with Merlin being one of the trusted Elders (spirits of high respect that watch over the light children from the stars above). Early on, Merlin sends down his last life's apprentice, a boy named Hisirdoux, to be reborn as a light, and help shepard the new children already filling the realms. Some choose to linger and then move on to their own, building villages and towns, and select few have stuck around and been companions of sorts. This is the situation within Rebirth, where Douxie and a small group of other light children (compiled of the Guardians of Arcadia, sans one) go and help new fallen lights. The fic follows the group ushering a new light through the routine of each realm.

And here's a bit from the actual WIP!

The fic itself will most likely be a chapter a realm, with six main realms, and perhaps a two parter for the final seventh world, seeing as it's split into two in the game already. The main reason I haven't worked on this is because I've experienced some slight burnout on the game it's based on, but I still love it dearly.
