[Caption: moodboard with various images to convey an aesthetic. The set includes a young Claire possessed by Castiel, illuminated in light while they hold Jimmy’s head before Castiel passes to him; the back of a woman that looks as if feathers are growing from her; the torso of a woman in a golden armour; a lake inside a mountain, with beautiful flowers around; a close-up to an eye with a drawing of angels inside it; a golden nebulae in space; the statue of an angel with a flower crown; and a picture of Kathryn Newton (Claire’s actress) with her hand extended in front of her and casting a shadow on her face.]
For day 3 of @angelfishofthelord follower celebration (wings / eyes), I ended up thinking of this very different alternate version of the Apocalypseverse that sometimes sneaks into my mind. I intend to write it at some point, probably placing it inside of a longer fic like the Wayward Sisters AU series I intend to write some day (and maybe using this version, or something close to it, for other times I’ll write fics set circa s13-14, because why not).
But since that day is a long time away (and the moment where I’d actually implement this idea even more), I wanted to offer a small ~glimpse into how I picture it. One key difference would be the setting itself, which in my mind looks nothing at all like the greyish dystopia of the show. I picture the angels in this world descending upon the Earth once it’s clear God has abandoned it and they have no way to fulfill the prophecy without the true vessels. They come in all their angelic glory, presenting themselves as guides and rulers to humanity that’ll bring about the promised paradise (with veeeeery mixed results as to how humans receive them ^^U). It’s another type of the end of the world, but it looks like an utopia on the surface.
Another aspect of this AU I’ve thought about (without getting too much into the details because it’s likely I’ll change and add things in the meantime) is that, as the moodboard suggests, in this world Claire, and not Jimmy, is Castiel’s vessel. Although in this case she’s still present and they ~coexist in one body, avoiding humans and angels alike.
As I said, my idea would be to write this in one of my WIPs: a series I want to write for the Wayward Sisters characters as a sort of... “what if the show had gotten made”. Keeping some things from s13-onwards, maybe, but disregarding others (also, bringing in a lot of female characters from past seasons. I already have this whole thing with demon!Bela all planned out lol). The (tentative) plan would be to implement this alternate apocalypseverse, with focus on Claire and au!Claire.
