Traits Of People With Psychic Abilities 🔮

The hardest thing about having psychic gifts is that no one teaches you about them or makes you aware that you have them. For most people, it is not until a medium, energy/chart/card reader or even your Guides tell you that you have psychic gifts that you realize you do. Otherwise, these things are just overwhelming, intense or confusing parts of your reality that are normal to you and you probably think everyone else experiences it too until you realize otherwise.

So, I am going to discuss the four primary "clairs" - claircognizance, clairaudience, clairsentience and clairvoyance - and the indicators you might have them. Full disclosure: I have all four. So, these are things that I experience, too, and that I had to realize were psychic abilities.

If you exhibit most or even all of the listed traits of the ability, you probably have it and should look into honing/mastering it

CLAIRCOGNIZANCE (Psychic Knowing)

🔮 Whenever you're right, other people just know it and it hits them hard. If you make a valid point in an argument, the other person will either totally shut up or become wildly defensive or irrational trying to prove their point

🔮 Claircognizant people also regularly have others reject their advice or insights only to later on admit they were right all along

🔮 You get ideas and solutions that seem to come out of nowhere (real "light bulb" moments) that strongly energize or invigorate you. These are also known as "downloads"

🔮 You're a very accurate judge of character and have frequently pinpointed toxic, untrustworthy or insincere people before they were exposed (you can just SENSE fakeness from a mile off and really, really dislike it)

🔮 Extremely independent minded. You have an intense dislike of people telling you how to think and insist on trusting your own judgment

🔮 Claircognizant people give exceptionally good advice. It's always insightfully, exactly tailored to the other person and what they need to hear, to a degree that often amazes others. However, it feels almost impossible for them to find someone who can give them the same kind of guidance

🔮 You might constantly feel abandoned or neglected by God or your Spirit Guides. But, this is because they divinely trust you to find the answers and direction you need within, which you typically do. You are your own guide, in many ways

🔮Remarkably intelligent. Can process information very quickly and on multiple levels (literally, metaphorically, logically, emotionally). You can make connections that other people do not

🔮You are extremely receptive to signs from the Universe or your Guides, especially if they're repetitive. You easily "get the message", whether you like it or not

🔮 Claircognizance can actually be the hardest psychic ability to detect because a lot of it just feels like regular intelligence or good observation. In a lot of ways, it's the most "practical" psychic ability

CLAIRAUDIENCE (Psychic Hearing)

🔮 Clairaudient people often have insanely sharp hearing in a literal sense. It is one of their strongest senses, possibly the strongest. They can clearly hear conversations from very far away and are highly sensitive to loud or sudden noises

🔮 You "talk to yourself" a lot but in a productive way. It's like an actual conversation where you emerge with a new viewpoint than before. You also might not realize that, at times, you are actually talking to your Guides and are just hearing them in your voice

🔮Deep, deep love of music. It may be extremely easy for you to enter a trace-like or meditative state while listening to music

🔮 You could also frequently receive major signs and synchronicities through songs

🔮 Similar to those with claircognizance, clairaudient people seem to give the best advice and always know just what to say. This is largely because their words hold a LOT of power. A simple statement from them, whether positive or negative, can affect someone very deeply

🔮 You have always found it very easy to talk to God or other spiritual beings/presences. You might even hear their voice but this feels natural and not strange at all

🔮It sometimes feels like people don't hear what you just said, even though they obviously did. Certain things you say get ignored or repeated by someone else as if they came up with it. Your words are so powerful that they can make others shut down or latch on to them

🔮When you speak your mind in a group or public setting, you are met with more relief than opposition, with others remarking that you said what they were thinking but couldn't say. You might often even say the exact thing that someone is thinking at the moment it crosses their mind

🔮 You have unintentionally formed telepathic bonds with certain people in your life and/or have had telepathic conversations with people that led to physical communication, like wanting them to call you and they actually do, right after, or vice versa

CLAIRVOYANCE (Psychic Seeing)

🔮 You have VERY vivid dreams that are often very strange/nonlinear and you place a lot of importance on interpreting or understanding them. You may keep a dream journal or make journal entries about them

🔮 Prophetic or psychic dreams. You have had multiple instances of dreams that predicted future events or told you what was going on currently with someone else that you wouldn't have known otherwise, including how they may be feeling toward you

🔮 You have always had an absolutely wild imagination, which may have been very overwhelming as a kid. Being a huge daydreamer (to the point where it could be maladaptive) as well as a highly creative person is often an indicator of clairvoyance

🔮 You've seen spirits before. You might have had a memorable instance of seeing a deceased loved one, even if you never met them in this life

🔮 Clairvoyants usually have very striking/piercing eyes. Like clairaudience, it's an ability that can also show up in a literal way. You may constantly hear that your gaze makes people nervous because it's like you can "see right through them"

🔮 You could have the ability to see auras but this often takes some developing. Same with seeing spirits.

In general, clairvoyance is the most unusual and unsettling psychic gift, imo. Seeing things like that can be scary! So, clairvoyants often learn to suppress a great deal of their gift early in life to feel safe (to the point where they may feel like they don't even have it). For this reason, for many people, it manifests most obviously through dreams until they work at it

🔮 Highly visual. You can very clearly picture situations and events in your mind, like a mini-movie playing in your head, and get lost in it. And no, everyone can't do that

🔮 You might have had very intense nightmares as a kid as well as a major fear of the dark. That could still carry on into adulthood (no judgment!) If you've ever dreamed of some weird, terrifying, otherworldly being you couldn't explain, you were probably being visited by them in your sleep

🔮 Clairvoyants tend to have an incredibly deep love of either movies and television or visual art

🔮 A very natural or totally self-taught aptitude for astrology or Tarot (especially the latter). An exceptional ability to just look at a birth chart or the cards and gain an abundance of information about a person or situation

🔮 You see various faces and images whenever you're meditating. Again, this could be communication from the other side. You actually might struggle to meditate at times because too many distracting "pictures" pop up in your mind

CLAIRSENTIENCE (Psychic Feeling)

🔮 Emotionally intense and highly sensitive. It's not enough to just be an empath. Clairsentient people have VERY powerful emotions of their own, to the point where it can be scary, and that only makes it easier to very deeply feel others' emotions

🔮Also, clairsentient people are very easily projected on. You are an emotional mirror. People can either take their negative states and insecurities out on you or they can feel wonderfully healed and hopeful and joyous just from your presence

🔮 From a young age, you have always been very emotionally intelligent and wise beyond your years. One key reason why is that you actually allow yourself to FEEL whatever you're feeling. You don't bury or run from your emotions

🔮 You can feel other people coming or sense their energy, even when you can't see or hear them. You would feel the difference between being alone in a house and someone quietly being in the other room

🔮 You might frequently feel like you're not alone or are being watched. You're not crazy! You feel spirits whenever they're around, especially your Guides

🔮 Extremely intuitive. You just know when something feels right or wrong and generally find it very easy to listen to and trust your gut

🔮 Regularly feeling sad or angry or tired without knowing why or having a reason. During these times, you're most likely picking up on the emotions of others you have a bond with, whether they're in your vicinity or far away, and confusing them with your own

🔮Clairsentient individuals seem to always know when someone is faking it, when they say "they're fine" and convince everyone but you. This is even truer of those you're close to or have known a long time

🔮 You have or once struggled with intense anxiety regarding big crowds or overwhelming social events. Even if you're outgoing, in a social setting you have a way of keeping to yourself and protecting your energy. Also, you definitely need time alone to recharge

🔮 People demand a lot of you emotionally. Strangers can spill their deepest secrets to you and friends may constantly seek your comfort or support. Your energy is very healing and you have to protect it or it will be taken advantage of (even if it's sometimes not done out of malice)

🔮 Children and animals feel really safe around you or strongly gravitate towards you. It might be a funny pattern in your life that fussy babies are very calmed by your touch or defensive/aggressive pets become friendly or docile with you

🔮 People with clairsentience tend to be great performers because their displays of emotion have an unusually strong effect on others. Again, you mirror others' feelings back to them and bring their emotions to the surface

Claircognizance is a perception that allows one to intuitively know information without any external cues. It's also called "psychic knowing". People with claircognizance often receive sudden insights or answers to questions that they didn't consciously think about. They may have a strong sense of conviction about certain things, even if they can't explain how they know.

Khepri!

The concept of a character sacrificing their humanity in the pursuit of their goal is an idea I'm immensely fond of. So I of course absolutely adore Taylor's transcendence into Khepri (and the similar examples present in WB's other works).

Not only is it the culmination of Taylor's character arc, it further shows how extremely capable she is as throughout the book she continually shows the ability to better use other people's powers, coming up with ideas they never would have and implementing them incredibly well - the first example that comes to mind being turning Clockblocker's ability to freeze things in the universe, immune to any effects, into a way of cutting through anything (focusing that power into a thin wire).

Khepri is an incredible part of Worm and certainly a personal favorite section of the book.

This was my first real attempt at a background, and while obviously simplistic I quite like how it turned out.

Taylor's design here is almost identical to how I drew her as Weaver, the only change being the lack of blue trim on some of her armor panels and the addition of the neck guard. The neck guard is a carry over from an earlier idea for this piece where Taylor's face would be completely blacked out, only her gold-turned eyes visible.

Figuring out looks for Doormaker and Clairvoyant were a struggle as they both have next to no physical descriptions, like a number of minor Parahumans characters, and Clairvoyant has two conflicting descriptions of what his eyes (or where his eyes should be, as it were) look like - either being like ash trays, per the first description, or just being expanses of skin, the second description and all future ones.

“Nanamin,” Yuji calls, finding his teacher standing in the back of the assembly hall, his face pale. “What does this mean?”

“It means we’re getting a visitor,” Nanami frowns, hands tensed at his sides.

“Then why is everyone so worried?”

“Because,” Gojo joins in, grinning, having appeared out of nowhere. “Everyone here is a worrywart. Nothing is going to happen.”

“Did you not receive the code?” Nanami raises a brow. “The damned Reaper Repeller is coming. The kids don’t deserve to be lied to.”

“…What’s the Reaper Repeller?” Yuji tilts his head to the side. “Some weapon?”

“I met her a couple times,” Gojo’s smile widens. “She’s pretty damn cool. She’s part of the International Squad and can see the future, so when she shows up it either means that our superiors deemed that a mission needed an extra hand, or that she saw something and is coming to change what she saw. Last time, she saw that I was gonna make a building fall or something, so she gave me a certain set of rules, like what to not do. No buildings fell, so she’s pretty legit.”

“That was an 18C18 code,” Nanami grumbles. “That didn’t even require an assembly. This is an 18J18.”

“…What’s that one, again?” Gojo gives a sheepish smile.

“I’m so lost,” Yuji mumbles, looking between the two. “18?”

Megumi walks up, followed by Nobara, and joins the conversation. “This is a J?”

Nanami nods.

“How do you break down the codes?” Nobara adds.

Nanami sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “The eighteens are for R and R, due to her nickname. The letter in the middle represents what she saw. For example, she showed up to Canada a few months ago on a code 18A18, which meant a battle would cause some sort of dispute that would stir trouble. B means she saw a civilian or two die. C means she saw mass civilian death. And so on, until J. It’s the maximum letter.”

“And?” Nobara pushes, raising a brow.

“It means she saw something very bad, and everyone has been gathered to be told who is set to die.”

Stepping off the jet, you haul your suitcase behind you, and are immediately greeted by two men. You know them both — you studied the entire Japanese Sorcerer database on your way here.

Kiyotaka Ijichi, clad in a suit with a grimace on his face.

Masamichi Yaga, principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High and teacher to one of the students you watched die.

“We would welcome you, but we know you aren’t here with good news,” Yaga says with a sigh, straightening his uniform. “Please, follow us. Ijichi will take your bags.

The pilot of your jet is already helping Mila unload the twenty-three suitcases you brought, all full to the brim with weapons and necessary training items you handpicked to make sure you turn the gate of Shibuya.

“My associate will get them,” you gesture to Mila, who is currently hooking all of the bags onto her extra limbs, leaning back a little from the weight. You grip the handle of your singular personal suitcase.

The two men nod, not bothering to even try arguing with you. Why would they, when you’ve come with death biting your heels?

You slip sunglasses off of your forehead and over your eyes, following them as you approach three cars, sleek and black with a subtle Jujutsu symbol on the back license plate.

It’s a short car ride over, one in which you and Mila sit silently in the back of a limo, while Yaga tries to ask you questions. Nobody gets a private briefing, that’s just how you operate. You avoid all his inquiries with vague comments, crossing your legs and sipping a glass of sparkling water. International sorcerers are known for kind of being hardasses anyway, so

You pull up to the school in no time, and Yaga escorts you and Mila through the building, down hallways and around corners. Eventually, he stops outside a large set of double doors and turns to face you.

“This is the assembly hall. All of Japan’s sorcerers are gathered behind these doors,” he gestures to the entrance. “Please remember that we have children in there.”

“I know,” you whisper. “One of them dies.”

Yaga goes very still, and you walk past him, opening the doors and immediately finding yourself on a slightly elevated platform.

A massive crowd of dark blue uniforms stands before you, all falling quiet at your entry.

You step forward, approaching a podium. Mila has her spider limbs tucked away, as to not appear threatening. She hands you a stack of papers, and you gather them, placing them on the podium as you lean forward to speak onto the microphone.

“Good Evening, sorcerers. My name is (Y/n). I won’t stretch this meeting to be longer than needed. My technique is Clairvoyance, and I am here because I have seen the future of a battle here in Japan. It will take place in Shibuya, on October 31st.”

A murmur goes through the crowd, but you clear your throat to recapture their full attention.

“I do not want you to be afraid. My visions can be changed. Without me, there will be sorcerer death, irrevocable damage, and the snuffing out of thousands of lives, including civilians. But I am here to help. To do so effectively, I will call forward the names of the affected. I will save your lives. Stop you from losing limbs. Prevent disaster. Do not be afraid.”

The room goes deadly silent.

“Nanami Kento.”

And just like that, the crowd erupts once more.

A man in the back of the crowd — the blond that you saw burnt and ultimately exploded — nods to the pink-haired boy at his side and starts making his way through the crowd.

With a sharp raising of my hand, the crowd goes silent once more, as Nanami passes soldiers who give him solemn nods.

“Kugisaki Nobara.”

You continue calling names, until you have at least a dozen sorcerers in front of you. Too many are children. There are managers, too, and other people in suits.

Your eyes skim the crowd, then fall back to your paper, which has crumpled in your grip. You call the last name, knowing what reaction you’ll get.

“Gojo Satoru.”

The crowd erupts, the room filling shouts and surprised cries and confused discussion.

The Untouchable.

You take a steadying breath at the rowdiness and gesture towards a private briefing room to your left, raising your voice to a shout.

“I will now ask for those who have been called to follow my associate here into a separate room. You all will be privately briefed. The rest of you… you will get the minimum details from your superiors.”

With that, you step back from the podium, and even more of the gathered sorcerers start shouting, demanding more details. You ignore them — you have to. Mila guides the called ones into a side room, just as you approach a small group of superiors and give them the very basics: there will be a city cratering, and the start of many bad, bad situations. You inform them that you will be making ideal teams for the mission, which you will release in a few days’ time.

With dragging feet, you force yourself to walk to the side room, where all of the ill-fated sorcerers are.

So far, at least.

Dealing with the future is a tricky business. Changing one thing, even so simple as this meeting, will cause different futures, which you will see and have to adapt to.

You swing open the door, and find everyone already sitting at a long, oval table.

“I’m sure you’re all not happy to be here,” you take a corner of the room to stand in, crossing your arms and attempting to look as non threatening as possible. “Unfortunately, this meeting is necessary. I’ll call you each one by one into a private space, to be told what will happen without intervention. From there, we’ll talk about options—”

“(Y/n),” Gojo interrupts, leaning back in his chair like this is all just a game. “You know me. I don’t really need to be here, do I?”

“You do.”

“What’s gonna happen, I get a scratch? Lose a limb? Shoko will fix all of that,” he drawls, putting his hands behind his head.

“Gojo, you’re going to be sealed in a box, and then a shit ton of people are going to die or be injured trying to save your ass,” you reply, narrowing your eyes. “You need to be here.”

No more arguments come.

You step forward, softening your expression, and your eyes land on the blond man, sans goggles — Nanami Kento. He’s handsome, even if in the back of your mind you still see that burned half of him. You decide he’ll be the first.

“Kento, right?” You drop the formalities — which you’re happy to do anyway, since you usually struggle with those when you’re in Japan. “Please, come with me.”

His jaw tenses as his eyes flick over you, and then he stands. You escort him into a small private room, closing the door behind you. There’s three comfortable chairs and a little coffee table, which has tissues and a pitcher of water with glasses on it. Comfort items, because people often cry.

Kento sits in one chair, and you take the one across from him. He’s exactly as you imagined in your vision. Tall, muscular, with a sharp jaw to match. He smells like vanilla and cedar. Except this time, the putrid scent of burning flesh is left out. He’s so… lovely.

“Lay it on me,” he clasps his hands together in his lap, after pulling his goggles off.

You chew your bottom lip. You usually don’t have issues with this part of the process; the bluntness is part of your job. But something about this man is putting you off, making your mind stagger behind your duty. Typically, there’s a sniffling/worried/sobbing/angry person in front of you. But Kento? He’s so… ready for this. Not upset at all.

“You would die a hero,” you whisper.

Then you blink, realizing what you said. There’s no need for comfort here. Excessive sweetening of the truth is just counterproductive. And yet, something in you is screaming at you not to stop.

“In your current fate, a curse burns half of your body. And yet, you still fight. On death’s door, you would be noble. A good mentor for your students. One they would miss dearly,” a tear pricks at the edge of your eye. “The curse by the name of Mahito is the one to finish you off. But we will stop that path. You will live, that I can be sure of. I’m sure your future has already changed, just because this conversation is setting the base for the weeks of prevention training to come.”

If anything is going through his head, he doesn’t show it. “Does your technique show you when the future changes?”

You scratch the back of your neck. “In a way. My technique has a mind of it’s own. I can typically foresee imminent death a few moments before it happens, but I can also get mass visions like I got of Shibuya. If I need something more specific, like to see if your future changes, I would have to touch you, and then see what my technique gives… me…”

You trail off as he holds out his hand, eyes focused with intent.

“Please,” he murmurs.

You nod, slowly sliding your hand against his—

“Oh my gods, that’s a lot of roses,” your jaw drops, eyes widening at the sight before you.

Your bed is littered with roses. The floor is covered in its petals. It’s beautiful, and the scent fills your nose with a loveliness like no other.

“You deserve every last one,” Kento grins, coming up behind you and kissing the nape of your neck. His arms slide around your waist. “For honoring me in being my wife.”

“Wife,” you giggle, tossing your head back to gaze up at him. “I’m never gonna get used to that. Mrs. Nanami,” your tone becomes sing-songy as you admire your engagement ring.

“Always and forever, my love,” he leans down, claiming your mouth with his. His thumbs rub against your hips, then move inwards, moving up and down the seam of your jeans crotch, as you feel him against your ass—

You pull your hand away quickly, blinking as you snap back to reality. You look to his hand, then to his face, but all you can see are his lips, those lips that kisses you better than you’ve ever been kissed in that vision—

“What did you see?” He asks, leaning forward. “What did you see?”

You open and close your mouth. Once. Twice. Thrice.

“Well…” you start, chewing your lip. “…You live past Shibuya, that I’m certain of.”

Relief crosses his face, and he relaxes, all as your heart pounds harder.

You glance down at your left hand, the hand that now feels too light without a diamond on it. Then you glance back up to him, and even though his expression gives nothing away, you know from that vision that something else is brewing in that beautiful, beautiful head of his.

Because this man? Nanami Kento?

He’ll be your husband.
