I'm one of those people who can lucid dream. That means that when I'm dreaming, I'm aware that I'm sleeping and I can actively control the dream and make whatever I want happen.

It doesn't *always* work - but it's a useful skill when I want to escape a nightmare!

This is the inspiration behind my newest short story "Candlelight Memories."

I thought, "what if dreams were not just dreams, and we were influencing another world through them?"

Clandlelight Memories is the result: bittersweet, mysterious and magically queer!

Plus, the opening line is one of my favorite I've ever written:

We met for the first time the night all the stars fell from the sky.

D - DATE. What is your muse’s ideal date? where / who with / etc?

Hard to tell- Mariko isn't exactly the romantic type. Probably it would be like a classic hangout but a bit more special: a movie date with clandlelight and great food, a trip with a nice picnic, things like that. She doesn't care for gifts, it's the experience that counts... But she does appreciate great food at all times!

A - AFFECTION. How does your muse show affection?

Mainly by acting thoughtful: Mariko is a bit of a tsundere, so she'd be the one blushing madly while telling her partner she cooked dinner or baked them a cake (or tried to, her cooking skills are disastrous). She'd make sure the significant other is safe, protected, and content. And she'd also show physical affection when sure no one is around to see it -- to her it's a very private moment, and she likes to keep it at that.

T - TRUE LOVE.  Does your muse believe in true love?

To Mariko, love is a lot about loyalty, and hence she's likely to believe in it when she's in love, although she'd not all lovey-dovey about the concept. If it things did not work out in the long run, she'd just think the other person wasn't the right one, but whenever someone is important enough to her to be seen as her loved one, she'd make sure to give them all the truest love she's capable of.

E - EMBRACE.  Does your muse like hugs? What are their hugs like?

She does, a lot, and not necessarily in romantic relationships -- but she's very shy and needs to feel very close around someone to go for one. She likes to give tight hugs, wrapping her arms around the other one as much as size allows it. To her, hugs should feel safe, and that's the feeling she tries to go for.

M - not gonna answer it as in the list, the ask is the same as for D, oddly enough

O - ODE. Does your muse have a way with words?

God, no. Mariko is awkward, tomboyish, really not good with love declarations. But she is genuine and sincere, and whenever declaring her feelings/intentions, the other one won't have a doubt she means each word she says. Even if she might stammer a bit.

N - NAUGHTY. What is your muse like in bed?

To Mariko, sexual moments are also filled with feelings, as she wouldn't go for them otherwise. She'd be flustered and nervous on her first time with someone, but as she gets more confident, she'd slowly show her most passionate side. In the end, she's a power bottom.

L - LOVE.  Who does your muse love?

It's a bit thread-dependent. In one, she's in a relationship with Shallot (and so far, it's her most balanced love, as well as fully reciprocated). In another one, she was in love with Fu, but sadly, he only saw her as a friend.

I - I LOVE YOU.  Does your muse find ‘i love you’ easy or hard to say?

Yes, because to her, those are important words. Once she gets more familiar with being in a relationship, she'd find it easier to say them, but never casually anyways.

G - GIFT.  Is your muse good at gift - giving or do they struggle to get it right?

I'd say so -- she always makes sure gifts are meaningful and personal, so she can come up with very original ideas to make them as unique as possible.

H - HEART.  Is your muse quick or slow to give their heart away?

Pretty slow -- Mariko is more the "slow burn" kind of person, and it takes her quite a lot to lower her defenses and allow herself to feel certain feelings. Plus, she can be kinda naive and oblivious, which doesn't help.

W - WEDDING. Would your muse get married? why / why not?

The idea would freak her out, to be honest. Mariko is a free and ambitious spirit, and she'd be afraid a wedding would tie her down, or that it would come with expectations she isn't willing to fulfill (like babies). To her, a marriage is just a promise of love and indivisibility, and nothing more than that; she would consider it only when feeling really safe and confident about a relationship and the boundaries coming with it.

X - XOXO.  Does your muse use / like pet names?

She doesn't mind them, as long as they're not sappy. She would mainly go for silly/joking one, mostly to tease the other person (e.g. she calls Shallot "pinehead" because of the shape of his hair).
