On the 9th of September, thirteen years ago, 2NE1 released their first studio album, To Anyone.
Musically, the album has been classified as mainly a pop record, and integrates other genres including R&B, dance, and hip hop.
The album was subject to mixed to positive reviews from music critics. While it was praised for its production quality, complaints were often made about the overuse of auto-tune software. Nonetheless, To Anyone was a commercial success in South Korea, debuting at number one on the Gaon Album Chart and was the number one album on Gaon's monthly chart. In total, the album has sold over 150,000 copies. To Anyone went on to win Album of the Year at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards and Melon Music Awards.
The "triple title tracks" were all released in conjunction with the album and peaked within the top three positions on the Gaon Digital Chart, making 2NE1 the first Korean artists to promote three songs at once.
The album reached #7 on the Gaon 2010 yearly charts with 122,845 copies sold. In Japan, the Korean edition of the album reached #27 on the Oricon weekly charts and sold 4,122 copies.
The song "Go Away" reached #16 on the Gaon 2010 digital yearly charts with 2,444,933 copies sold, and the song "Can't Nobody" reached #20 with 2,327,146 copies sold, making To Anyone the only release with more than one song on the 2010 Gaon Digital Top 20 chart.

I really find it very upsetting how, the moment that somebody's trauma trigger is the slur spit in their face as they were brutally beaten, but also YOU like using that word, suddenly you don't even pretend to respect them anymore.
Y'all will reduce people's actual triggers down to mockery. I am so tired of people undermining the very real trauma that I went through, strawmanning it into "people whining because they don't like a word" or "people arguing over words"
I'm literally just asking people to respect that they should not assume that somebody is okay with being called a word that many people are still traumatized by, and that they should also not pretend as though we are bad people because our trauma is different than theirs.
And apparently that's too much to ask.
