One of the things I love about Clark and Lois' relationship is how very *mutual* it is.
So often in relationships in media we get couples that are PASSIONATE but on a day to day level it feels like they barely knew each other or barely like each other (Ross & Rachel, I'm looking at you). Or, we'd see one partner who was UTTERLY DEVOTED to the other partner who was portrayed as perfection, ideal, above all others. ONE partner is "lucky" to be with the other.
Clark and Lois mutually, unequivocally LIKE each other. Clark is just as smitten with Lois as she is with him. They see each other very, very clearly. Even though Lois is occasionally stricken with a bout of insecurity at the idea of being with a superhero, she also sees Clark's flaws and treats him as a full human (alien) being. Clark, in turn, sees the tornado that is Lois for everything that she is and he *loves it*.
They not only accept each other just as they are, they *delight* in each other. They want the best for each other. They celebrate each other. They encourage and cheer each other on to do the things they love. They are safe to be themselves with each other. They are *happy* together.
So often writers make relationships about conflict or struggle, the *fight* to be together, people who love each other but just can't seem to find the right timing, people who feel so much for each other but can't seem to find any place of rest or peace with each other. The conflict or roller coaster IS the relationship, and if you take that away there's nothing left for them to share anymore.
I love writing that allows the relationship to be a loving, safe and settled thing. I love seeing people who can just breathe and relax with their partner, romantic or platonic.
I see it also in Kaz & Inej, in Jesper & Wylan, and platonically in The Doctor & Donna, in Leslie Knope & Ann Perkins, Charlie & Tao...
I want more of that, please and thank you.

of the many, MANY, sequences where superman saves lois, this one’s one of my favorites! dunno if any of you guys have watched the old 40s cartoons but they’re quite fun!

Superman: The Man of Steel #0
’’Mr. Veg-o-matic" 💀
Also one of my favorite Superman tropes is 'person trying to kill Clark Kent but they don't know he's Superman so all the attempts fail and they get frustrated' bring it to live action!

so everyone is fighting over whether Lois is justified in being upset or not.
but…personally I’m focusing on how the writers spoon fed us their adorable relationship from the get go, then sadisticly ripped it away. You deviant bastards, you.
but joke’s aside, it’s quite refreshing how they’re subverting the classic clark and lois dynamic. So It will be interesting to see how they rebuild from that.
Also, I’m really hoping Lois’s memory doesn’t get erased (looking at you Superman 2).

An ode to Smallville Lois Lane, part 1:
In her very first episode in season 4, Lois visits LIONEL FUCKING LUTHOR in prison and proceeds to leave HIM unsettled.
She's just arrived in the scene, she's a freshman in college, she's grieving her cousin and has just dealt with amnesia Clark being odd AF and she manages to walk directly into the lions den, look straight into Lionel's shifty, manipulative eyes, and not blink. Lionel has to completely rethink his view of her by the time she walks out of that room, and *do you know how rare it is for Lionel Luthor to question his assumptions*?? But here's Lois, setting him back on his heels in 3 minutes flat.
There was zero chance THIS Lois Lane was ever going to be limited to 4 or 5 episodes. Everyone knew she was absolute gold from this very first episode.
