“Goodnigth sweetheart.” Clark smiled at his teenage daughter before shutting the door and leaving her room. He wanted to say goodnight and check on her since she had been hold up in her doing homework.
“Night dad.” Y/n smiled waiting for him to shut the door and once he did she listened to hear when he was in his room with the door shut.
Once she heard the click of his door shutting that was all she needed before sneaking out her window. As she made it out of the house and down the driveway off the family farm she met up with her boyfriend Dean in his car.
“Hey. Did he notice?” Dean smiled asking after pecking her cheek with a kiss.
“Not a clue.” Y/n shook her head smiling back at the dirty blonde boy.
And with that the teenage couple was off to the date they had planned days prior.
Once it was over Dean had reluctantly dropped her back off at the end of the driveway. Y/n got out and as she climbed back through her window, she thought that it was surprisingly easy. But she spoke to soon.
“Where have you been?” Her father sat there in her room in her lounge chair at one corner.
“Uhhh, outside?” She played dumb, even thought it’s obvious shes lieing.
“Is that a question or an answer?” Clark asked his daughter unimpressed with her antics and actions.
“Both?” Y/n squints.
“You're grounded.” He states, as he waits for a reply but Y/n stays silent Clark asks. “Not gonna disagree?”
Y/n shakes her head. “Nope. It wouldn’t change your mind right?”
“No.” Clark states sternly.
“Then I’m good.” She nodded giving him a thumbs up.
“Go to sleep.” He says before leaving to go back to bed.
Y/n sighed before getting up and changing, getting ready for bed.
^     ^     ^
“So he grounded you?” Dean asked at lunch the next day at school.
“Well he caught me re-entering the house. So yeah.” Y/n confirmed. Her father literally caught her coming back through her window, of course she got grounded.
“That sucks.” Dean let out a sympathic sigh, before wrapping her arm around her shoulders. “So I’ll see you tonight?” He smirked, mischievously.
“How? I’m grounded.” Y/n raised an eyebrow to her boyfriend in question.
“Sneak in.” Dean shrugs without a care in the world of how bad of an idea this could be.
“I don’t know.” Y/n was very unsure of his idea.
“It’ll be fine.” He says waving off her concern as they both continue to eat their lunch.
^     ^     ^
Later that night Y/m couldn’t help laughing as quietly as she could, as she watched her boyfriend struggle to climb through her window.
“Your crazy.” She stated still laughing quietly so her father hopefully wouldn’t hear them.
“For you, yeah.” Dean smiled dopely up at her as he fell to her floor with a loud thud.
“Cheesy.” Y/n smiled with red blushing cheeks.
But only seconds later they both turn their heads having heard someone clear their throat in the doorway. As they looked over and there stood Clark kent, and y/n’s father looked anything but pleased.
“Oh. I’m in Y/n’s room huh?” Dean chose to play dumb like Y/n did the night before, looking around as if he’d never seen the room before.
“Yeah.” Clark answered not impressed, although slightly amused on the inside.
Dean turns around and leave’s back through the window where he came from.
“Soooooo…” Y/n stretched out not knowing what to say.
“You know I have super hearing. Right?” Clark questioned looking at her with a mixture of confusion and amusement. With the way her eyes widened he guessed not.
“So you heard - damn why do I always forget about her hearing!” Y/n shook her head and feel back onto her mattress.
“Your still grounded.” he stated although amused by her reaction he smiled shaking his head.
“Figured.” she nodded solemnly. Not like she helped her case anyway letting a boy sneak into her room.

~Child batsis meets child supersis~
Tumblr media
●Straight up, the first time they met they were like bffs. Almost like they have known each other their whole short lives.
●They met beacuse Damian is kinda bestfriends with Jon Kent, plus their dads are like work partners.
●A lot of sleepovers at the Wayne Manor or Kent farm.
●Helping Alfred make cookies.
●Pulling pranks on Jon and Damian.
●Making Bruce and Clark become pretty little princesses for tea parties. (Alfred took sooo many photos)
●Always being attached at the hip 24/7.
●Being known as the "best child duo".
●Matching outfits.
●Always sharing secrets with each other and not telling anyone. (Besides Alfred)
●Begging Bruce and Clark to have sleepovers or play dates.

A gift from Cadmus Pt.4
Tumblr media
Lex gently caressed his face as he finished up the last of his nightly skincare routine. The man wrapped his silk robe around his body and made his way to his bed. At his bedside, a duplicate of the rose he gave Y/n illuminated a soft glow. Using Magic wasn’t really his style, But it was the only way he could successfully invade Y/N’s mind. Gaining her trust will be far from easy.
He smiled before dragging down his sleeping mask.  “Active dreamer aren’t we? Let’s see what’s on that mind of yours child.”
Darkness. As far as the eye could see. Y/n flew to where she thought was up but there was nothing. The silence calmed her in a way. No responsibility, no need to try for anything, y/n was free to just… exist. As she floated around the empty space she heard the sound of static, as if an old tv was turning on. The bright screen turned on above Y/n shocking the poor girl. As her eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness On the screen Bruce stood with his back facing hers. She attempted to speak, but no sound was heard. Y/n pressed her hands on the screen and slammed it with all her might to no avail.
“She’s going to  cover for me. She’s been doing it anyway. You just don’t let her-”
Y/n felt comfortable hearing Jasons voice, But Bruce shook his head “absolutely not. She’d be useless.”
Useless?
Confused y/n attempted to call out to her family again.
“No, she’s too dangerous. A weapon cannot be controlled.”
A new being entered the screen. Now Clark stood next to Bruce. He too had his back facing her.
Y/n felt her chest tighten. It was hard to breathe, what was she watching? Why can’t she speak? She gripped her chest this was too much.
Connor, Tim, and Dick appeared behind Jason. Y/n noticed string behind Connor. When she followed it her ragged breathing worsened. Y/N’s body suddenly jerked backwards. It was as if someone had yanked her hair to see the bigger picture. Y/N’s eyes widened at the very giant Megan holding onto marionette handles.
She laughed “this is for your own good Y/n”
No. No no NO!
Y/n stepped back, horrified by the imagery in front of her. He pressed her hands on her head. laughter, random chatter, even car honks could be heard.
Y/n couldn’t take it. She fell to her knees “stop. Stop it. I’m not useless, I can help. It’s not my fault. I’m trying!”
The crescendo of the noise drove her mad. But all sound fell silent as A gentle hand was placed on top of her head. Y/n shook at her spot, the sudden silence startling her.
“It’s alright child. I’m here. I am proud.”
Y/n shakily looked up. Lex knelt infront of her with a gentle smile on his face “it’s ok.” He caresses her hair, the action greatly calming her. Her breathing still uncontrollable, eyes blurring her vision. Y/n pounced, hugging the bald man.
Lex was stunned. He didn’t expect her to… hug him. He slowly brought his hands down, returning the hug.
“They call you a weapon because they fear you Y/n. It’s human nature to fear what they do not understand.”
Y/n attempted to speak again but no volume could be heard. Lex’s words were cool as he continued to gently caress the girls head. Y/N’s breathing began to calm. Accepting the comfort.
“They’re right. You are a weapon. But a strong one child.”
Lex rose her head and wiped her fallen tears. Y/N’s crying quelled as she looked at his facial features. She saw no lie in his words.
“Show them how strong you are. Prove to them that you are worth their time! Ill always be here for you dear girl.”
6 Hours till…
Y/n gasped as she woke from her surreal nightmare. Her hands tightly gripped the sheets, looking around the unfamiliar room. Beads of sweat dripped down her face.
Disgusted, Y/n wiped her face with the sheets. She heard the sounds of birds chirping outside the window. A roosters crowing accompanied the sound. “How did I get here?”
Y/n remembered last night. Only Alfred showed up to her show. Alfred and Lex Luthor…
Beside the bed the mechanical flower bloomed and rotated slightly, grabbing Y/n attention. Gold, silver, ruby, diamond. All kinds of gems were bedazzled from the petals to the stem. Y/n gently picked up the flower, her eyes soaked in the beautiful creation. It calmed her as she remembered her dream.
Y/n brought the artificial plant close to her face “You’re beautiful”
The flower opened wider, it tilted its petals side to side. Y/n giggled “you’re sentient? Well. I know plants are but you are clearly not like any normal plant.”
The flower swayed from side to side as if it were responding to her. Y/n bit her bottom lip. Connor had sphere and wolf. This was hers. It didnt matter that Lex gave it to her. The door opened slightly starting the girl. She held the flower close as she turned her head to the entrance of the room.  Clark wore his very classic blue and white stripped pajamas “hey. You’re up early.”
Y/n held the flower closer to her.  Shifting her weight “Had a bad dream.”
“May I come in?”
Y/n looked down. To her surprise the flower closed up. It was wilted again which greatly confused her.
“Sure…”
Clark entered, the soft yellow light from the hallway dimly lit up the room. When he sat on the bed the mattress tilted slightly. “It’s 6am.”
Y/n nodded her head slightly “the early bird gets the worm.”
Clark looked at the glass jar that housed the wilted flower. “Lex is a dangerous man.”
Y/n didn’t respond. Nor did she make eye contact.
“He always has something up his sleeve. Be weary y/n I don’t think that’s safe.”
A dry chuckled escaped her lips “you speak like you’re any better.” Y/n began lightly tapping the glass.
“I’m sorry?”
Y/n finally looked up at him. She began tapping her temple with her index finger “you know what was taken from me. You know why I can’t participate in missions. It’s cause I’m a weapon.” Y/n slightly tilted her head “right?”
Clark froze. An anxious feeling loomed over him. “I don’t know what you mean y/n. Are you ok?”
Y/n felt… good. She made The man of steel stress. A soft knock caught the attention of both beings. Louis stood at the door with breakfast on a mini table. “You must be hungry Y/n.”
Louis looked at Clark’s tense shoulders “I didn’t interrupt anything did I?”
Y/n smiled. She playfully shook her head “nope. Uncle Clark and I were just talking.” Y/n got up from bed and took the breakfast tray with ease she placed the flower on the corner  “thank you for the breakfast.”
Y/n left the two alone. Clark let out an exasperated sigh as he brushed his fingers through his hair. Louis sat beside him, placing a hand on his stiff shoulders. “Are you ok?”
“Something wrong with Y/n.”
~~ 3 hours till~
The football game was frustrating. It was already bad enough to play in a team that underestimated her because she was a girl. She watched the ball get intercepted by the opponent and groaned. “You guys suck.”
“Well I don’t see you doing anything princess!”
Y/N’s eye twitched. She began hopping in place stretching her arms.  At the sound of the whistle their opponent got another point.
Y/n can see clark in the distance throw his hat down. “C’mon! Get the ball!” Other parents from her team commented on Clark’s behavior, making y/n smile but only for a short while.
As the team set up for the last play. The quarterback attempted to push Y/n. Unfortunately for him, he bumped into what felt like steel. Y/n turned “pass me the ball.” She poked his chest hard “if you want to win”
“Whatever freak.”
Clark heard the interaction and frowned. “You got this Y/n!” He clapped his hands in the hopes of motivating the girl. But her eyes, even from here he could see the cold sneer she gave him.
“Down… set… HIKE”
Y/n felt the ground beneath her sink as she channeled her strength to her calves then her feet. She skillfully dodged her opponents making herself wide open. Y/n watched the ball fly over her prompting her to run faster.
“Bruce please.”
“Not now Alfred.”
“If not now when?”
Y/n heard Alfred and Bruce crystals clear. She looked around but they weren’t here.
“Y/N! The ball!”
Y/n looked up. She came up short, the girl jumped making contact with the ball with her fingertips but it tipped over. Y/n landed on her back with a hard thud. The grass pricked at her skin.
No, she can’t loose. Not like this. Not when Clark is watching. The world watching.
“Is she ok?”
“What an idiot”
“Waisted talent.”
Noise. More noise. Everything moved in slow motion as the football fell. The sound of the whistle ten times louder. Cheers and frustration all around. Y/n felt dizzy, she covered her ears as the noise intensified. Everything was too loud.
“Pass the ball~ useless!” A teammate mocked.
The team crowded the poor girl. She brought her body as close a she could, like a ball.
“what the hell y/n I thought you said you had it?”
“Princess of Gothem? More like a spoiled brat.”
Y/n pressed her hands to her ears as tightly she could. This was super hearing. Somehow she unlocked a new ability. And this one was annoying. However, she did hear Bruce and Alfred. Meaning she has enough range to listen to what they were currently saying. Y/n took deep breaths, ignoring all the noise, searching for the one thing she wanted to hear.
Clark pushed her so called team out the way. His hight was intimidating as he looked down on her peers “leave.”
Some blew a raspberry while others scurried off to their coach. Clark knelt down “Y/n what’s happening.”
The girl sucked her teeth. She looked at his offered hand and slapped it away before standing up herself.
The Kryptonian was taken aback with the response “hey… you did great out there im sure the next season wills be-“
“Where’s my rose?”
Clark straightened his posture “in the car. Y/n what’s going on?”
Y/n pressed a hand to her ear “It would seem I’ve acquired super hearing. Now if you’ll excuse me.”
Y/n attempted to move past Clark but he stepped in front of her “sorry… given your behavior I’m not letting you go near that thing.”
“Not… letting.. me.”
Clark watched as Y/n knelt on one knee. Maybe the pain of the superhearing was getting too much? This could be a great teaching moment.
Y/n made sure her cleats were firmly on the grass “who said I needed your permission.”
It happened fast. So fast in fact you’d probably mistake her for a speedster. Y/n slammed all of her strength on her left foot, not caring for the multiple eye witnesses. She needed to leave. She needed her rose. She needed to know what the hell Bruce and Alfred were talking about.
Clark saw everything but he didn’t move. If he wanted to he could catch up to her but when and how did she have such skill with her powers. Connor didn’t even possess that level of skill when he came out his pod.
Clark reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone:
“Bruce. Something wrong with Y/n call me”
**Send** ~Meanwhile~
 Bruce interlocked his fingered looking upon the many screens.
One of them was a text from Clark. He didn’t read it but he did notice Y/n. Many cases consumed him, he was thankful Tim had been helping. However, no Jason. His son decided it would be best if he stole on of his motorcycles.
“One night Bruce. The ONE night you promised to show up and you’ve failed.”
Alfred’s words were snappy and cold. His disappointment strong. Bruce didn’t turn around to face him. Instead he leaned back “I’m sorry Alfred. I’ll make it up to her when I’m done.”
“W-what make it up to her? You’ll need to do more then that Bruce. She cried for you. Don’t you understand? That child has been carrying a burden all this time and you think it’ll be easy to make it up to her?”
The room fell silent once more. Of course Bruce had nothing to say.
“Of all people Lex Luthor made an appearance.”
Now Bruce was paying attention. He turned in his seat to face the Butler “what did he want?”
Alfred closed his eyes “nothing Bruce. He did something that you should have done. He even gave her a gift that-“
“And you let her keep it?”
Bruce turned back around facing a computer. He typed some things to see a red dot moving particularly fast, leaving metropolis “I thought you said she was with Clark…” Alfred also looked at the screen. He felt slight unease watching the tracker weave around “I left her there for the night. Something mustve happened in the game.”
Another alert popped up on the screen, a broadcast all throughout Ghothem. Bruce’s face fell at the horror that was on his screen.
“Oh batsyyy! I got one of your little birds~” The Joker sang ~~~
2 hours till…
Connor placed both hands on his face. The sounds of his team scrambling to find both Jason and Y/n was unnerving.
“Its ok, we’ll find them” Megan placed a hand on his hoping to calm connor down but it didnt work.
“I missed her game, I wasn’t even invited to her end of the year performance because of how busy ive been.” Connor stood “This is no time to be sitting here.
The zeta tubes announced Y/n’s presence. Connor and Megan quickly went to the entrance but were shocked at Y/n’s appearance.
She wore the same black domino mask that the rest of the bats use on her face. A black dress with white shoes and a Flower circled around her, the most off thing she wore however were the thick noise canciling headphones.
Megan stopped moving but Connor approached his younger sister giving her a big hug “where have you been?we’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
Megan noticed the lack of response from the girl. Her eyes cold and locked on to hers. She didnt even return the hug her brother gave. Majority of young Justice were present.
“Y/n cant know about whats happening with Jason. Keep her clear from the mission room.” Dick spoke through the mind link.
“Connor, get away from her. Somethings not right.”“Whats wrong?”“Y/n is acting totally strange. Theres also a creepy flower circling her.”Dick saw Zetannas face fell “Im on my way. Dont anger at all.”As she turned to leave Dick grabbed her arm “what do you know?”
“That flower could very much be a Familiar that amplifies negative emotions. How the hell could she have gotten something like that?” Connor heard everything that was said through the mind link. He slowly stood, but when he attempted to move away Y/n took his hand in hers.
“I would love to show you something big brother. Its about your girlfriend.” Y/n held onto connors hand in a vice grip. Y/n began walking to the living area “You too Megan, I dont want you left out.”
Connor and Megan looked at each other then back at Y/n. “Sit, get comfy.” Unbeknownst to them Y/n was all kinds of excited. Today would be the day she would expose the martian for all her misdeeds. She connected the laptop to the television and skillfully hacked into their cameras. Magan noticed the dates she was inputting and stood “Y/n what are you doing.”
Y/n’s grin was wide when she pressed play. The two watched as Magan erased Connors memories all thoes years ago.
“Its for your own good” Y/n said at the same time as Megan did in the video. Connor looked to His girlfriend then back to the screen. “What is this?”
Y/n couldnt contain her giggle. She pressed another button to show The meeting. Magan stood “Its not what it looks like Connor.”
He ignored her and continued to watch the screen with Y/n. she continuously tapped her temple with her finger “She played us Connor. She’s the reason why I can join missions. She used you Connor.”
Zettanna finally showed herself. She casted a spell towards Y/n but the girl was fast. Y/n lifted one of her legs and slammed it to the ground initiating her flight. “Problem?”
“Y/n give me the flower now.”
Y/n held onto her stomach as she laughed. The kid of maniacal laughter youd hear a villain do “Lex gave this to me. He was the only one that bothered to show up at my performance.”
Connor glared at Megan, the teen attempted to reach to him only for him to back away “We’re done”
He didnt let her speak as he himself jumped up to grab his sister. To his surprise it worked. When connor landed Zetanna ran up to them and grabbed the flower.
“Let me go! Connor! I showed you the truth and this is how you treat me!”
“Y/n stay still. This isnt like you.” Connor couldnt believe the strength his sister was dishing out. Zetanna grabbed the flower and threw it down right in front of her. Y/N let out a horrible scream as a black cloud left her body. Dick and Kalduer, all ran out to the scene. Connor finally let go and layed on his back breathing heavy. She was way too strong for a girl that size. Y/n crawled to the broken flower. Her quiet sobs grew as she tried to fix it “Why… why why why WHY! Its not… SHEs the one that ruined everything! Not me” Y/n screamed again at the loss of her new companion before bolting towards Megan. The martian flew high to dodge as best she could but Y/n grabbed her ankle and threw her to the other side of the room.
Dick couldnt belive the sight of his preciouse sister. She was animalistic in a way. He reached into his shoe and pulled out Kryptonite. Y/n’s knees wobbled as she fell to the floor.
“You too…”
All this betrayal. Y/n felt her heart tightened as the people who she once called family look at her like she was the monster. The only person who cared it seemed were Alfred and Jason. Y/n’s fetal attempt of escape was sad.
“Guys I found where the jokers keeping Jason!” Garfield came running out with a proud smile only for him to see the state of everyone.
Y/n looked up. Dick turned letting his guard down only slightly. Jason was taken. By the Joker. No… no way in hell will she let anything happen to someones whos had her back all this time. “Where. Is he…”
Dick Finally looked down at his sister while still holding onto the Kryptonite. She felt a light pinch on her neck before everything went black. Dick put the stone away, picking her up. “I'll take her to the cave… inform Batman about this.

Clark Kent x Female Reader/ daughter
Request - Could you do a Clark Kent X daughter reader were they he is lecturing her on how dangerous it was not to tell him she had powers and she tells him she kept it to herself after overhearing him talk about how it would be either Jonathan or Jordan that got powers not her.
Tumblr media
You go to the kitchen and you see your dad and Jordan outside. Lois is drinking her coffee and Jon is getting ready.
“What are they doing?” You asked.
“Jordan, just discovered he got powers. Now, your dad is teaching him how to control his powers” Lois said.
“That’s so cool, he has powers,” You said.
“It is cool, but he has to be careful around people and not tell everyone,” Lois said.
“Does Jonathan has powers?” You asked.
“Not sure, Y/n,” Lois said.
You use your super hearing, Jordan isn't happy about having powers because he is worried about hurting someone. And you haven't told anyone that you have powers. You watch your dad hug Jordan and try to comfort him.
“Y/n, you heard that Jordan has powers now,” Jonathan said.
“Yeah. What about you?” You asked.
“I don't have powers. But I think it will be cool to have super strength” Jonathan said.
“Yeah, that will be cool” You smiled.
Later, Clark called you and your brothers to a family meeting.
“Jordan has powers now but I will train him to control it. But we cannot tell anyone about this” Clark said.
“He serious. Not everyone will have good intentions about this. There are people who hate and want to cause harm to those who have special abilities” Lois said.
“I won't tell anyone,” You said.
“Good. Boys?” Clark said.
“We won't tell anyone,” Jonathan said.
“Me too,” Jordan said.
Later, Clark starts to train the boys to find out if Jonathan has powers. You wanted to train with them but you start to remember what they said...
It's the middle of the night, you hear your parents talking in the kitchen.
“Do you think, Jonathan has powers or will get them?” Lois asked.
“Not sure. Jordan has a long way to learn about his powers” Clark said.
“I don't think Y/n, has powers. She isn't showing signs, I think it's good right now that she doesn't have powers” Lois said.
“I don't think she has powers. I need to focus on Jordan because I'm worried he might hurt someone if his emotions got the best of him” Clark said.
You didn't bother to keep hearing what they had to say, you went back to your bedroom.
----
You wanted to spend time with your dad, but it didn't happen. He was spending time with you but something came up.
“Dad, I thought we would finish the show. It's almost done” You said.
“Y/n, we can finish it another time,” Clark said.
“We haven't watched it in a month,” You said.
“Your brother needs my help. I don't want him to get hurt when he is flying” Clark said.
He is going to take Jordan to The Fortress of Solitude.
“Just forget it,” You said and walked away.
You went to your bedroom and lay on your bed. Your dad is still busy with Jordan and Jon.
“Y/n, are you okay?” Lois asked.
“I’m fine,” You said.
“It seems like something is bothering you,” Lois said.
“How can you tell?” You asked.
“A mother knows. When you want to talk about it, I will listen” Lois said.
You didn't want to talk about it for right now, your mom gave you space. Clark is still training the boys and when they came back home, they start to talk about what they have been doing. You are feeling jealous and you don't tell them you have powers.
“Y/n, dinner is ready,” Lois said.
“I will eat later,” You said.
“Y/n, you should have seen Jordan, he almost flew more than ten seconds,” Jon said.
“Whatever,” You said.
“Y/n-” Clark said.
You didn't bother to stay and hear what your dad had to say. You just went to your bedroom. Your brothers went to check up on you, but you didn't want to talk with them.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✯
Your parents took you and your brothers to National City, and your aunt Alex did a surprise birthday party for Kara. Everyone is having fun and you are kinda having fun. You hear your dad talking about Jordan having powers and how proud he is.
“Y/n, do you think Jordan will have the suit color like dad?” Jonathan said.
“I don't know, probably. Everyone seems happy that he has powers” You mumbled.
“Don’t tell anyone, but Jordan told Sarah about having powers” Jonathan said.
“How did you find out?” You asked.
“I heard him them talk. But she promised not to tell anyone and I believe her” Jonathan said.
“Everyone thinks, you would have powers but I won't,” You said.
“It would be cool to have speed and the football team can win a trophy” Jonathan smiled.
You hugged your aunt Kara and gave her a birthday card. But suddenly the moment got ruined because Toy Master arrived. Some toys started to explode and other toys attacked everyone else. Jordan still struggles to use his powers but Red Tornado arrived and he starts to fight with Clark and Kara.
Alex is using her gun to attack, Your mom is taking the others to safety. A toy was about to attack your mom
“Mom!” You yelled.
You used heat vision to destroy the toy. Everyone is in shock and speechless, you used your heat vision again.
“Since did you get powers!?” Lois yelled.
“I-I... A few months?...” You stuttered.
“Y/n... Why, you didn't tell us?” Clark asked.
The red tornado was going to punch you, but you grabbed his fist. You are stronger than you punched him to the ground.
“Woah! Where did you learn that!?” Jordan asked
“Training,” You said.
After a while of stopping them, your dad started to yell at you.
“Y/n, you were reckless for not telling us that you have powers!” Clark yelled.
“You and Mom were happier that Jordan had powers. You and Mom spent more time with him!” You yelled.
“You two need to stop yelling. Talk and really listen to each other” Lois said.
“Where did you learn your training?” Clark asked.
“On YouTube... From HeroManager. He has powers and he posts videos of what he can do. His name is Shazam. I have been training alone when everyone is asleep or you are with Jordan, which is all the time” You said.
“Y/n, you are not off the hook. You could have got hurt or hurt someone else. You are grounded” Clark said.
“For what!? You and Mom only cared about Jordan and his powers. When something came up for me, you and Mom would leave and go be with Jordan. I'm out of here” You said.
“Y/n, you are not going -” Lois said.
You didn't care and you used speed to leave.
“I will go look for her. I will be back” Clark said.
Clark left and he starts to search the city. You are sitting on the roof on the edge, and you sighed. You are looking down and you sighed again.
He found you and he sits next to you.
“I’m not going to yell,” Clark said.
“Sorry, I left,” You said.
“I’m sorry. We should have asked you if you had powers. Having powers for the first time can be hard for anyone, it was hard for me when I first came to Earth. I know have been spending more time with Jordan. But I was impressed by how you did on your own, Y/n” Clark said.
“Dad, it wasn't easy. I really did want to tell you and Mom but I heard you two talk and I changed my mind” You said.
“I do want to train you if you let me. What do you know so far” Clark said.
“Yeah, it will be okay if you train me. I have, heat vision, speed, flight, and super strength... So far” You said.
He put his arm around you and he smiled at you. You and your dad stood there for a while and just talked.
Later, you and Clark go home. You show your family the youtube channel of Shazam, then you explained how you learned to control your powers.
----
You have been training with Jordan. Clark makes sure to spend time with you and your brothers besides just training. Lois always starts to worry when you and Jordan want to fight bad guys.

My Masterlist

Story is no longer self-insert, go to the masterlist to read the new reworked story!
Genre: action, angst, fluff, comfort
Pairing: platonic!Jason Todd x reader, platonic!batfam x reader, secondary!Kara Danvers x reader
Warnings: offensive language, descriptions of violence, blood, dead bodies, and a panic attack
Description: Y/n Wayne, is dealing with her past and spending time with her girlfriend when she sees a mysterious figure that feels hauntingly familiar.
Y/n’s  Abilities: Trained in hand-to-hand combat and is trained to use most weapons.
Y/n’s pronouns: she/her
Word Count: 1642
It wasn’t like this was the first time that this had happened. Someone finds you on the bathroom floor gasping for air, wishing you were dead. You knew it wouldn’t be the last time either.
“Y/n, look at me.”
You only ever saw flashes when you were awake, the blood, the crowbar, the body. Sometimes it would just be the sound, of screaming. Almost always screaming. The type that makes you nauseous. Sometimes yours. Sometimes your fathers. And sometimes his. God your chest hurts, you try to breathe but you’re met with fire in your lungs.
“Sis, I need… focus…at me.”
You blink hard, trying to dig yourself out of the hole you were in, you see dark hair which doesn’t do much in helping figure out who this is. But you can’t breathe, this shouldn’t matter. It’s hard to grasp what’s real, the sound of metal hitting concrete or calming whispers. They’re both fuzzy and feel wrong, this shouldn’t be happening. A hand on your face, its thumb attempting to soothe you. Dick. Dad would be rubbing your back, if you allowed him to be near you. It’s not like you want to remember but sometimes you feel like you deserve it. You get what you earn, right? You’re the one that survived.
“Start noting things in the room, to ground you.” His voice is shaking a little but it’s soothing nonetheless.
You see his face, Jason’s face, so clearly for a second. It’s covered in blood and you can’t help but stare. His dead eyes stare back. A hand guides yours, drifting over what feels like smooth ice, tile. You’re not there, it’s not the concrete of the warehouse. You’re not looking at your dead best friend, it’s just Dick. You grab his hand that's on yours and count his fingers. He’s real and that all you need to know for now.
That’s when you shoved him away.
***
You are sitting in the study with your head bowed down as your father paces across the floor. He’s fidgeting with the sleeve of his jacket.
“We have to talk about this, it's been months.” You’ve only ever heard him this desperate once before. “At this point, you don't have to talk to me. Talk to Dick or Alfred, I can see if I can get into contact with your mom. I’ll get you a therapist or a priest, just tell someone. You’ve shut everyone out and you know that I’ve been here.  You know what I’ve lost and been through, you’re old enough to know and understand all of it now!”
You were on the verge of tears. You couldn’t look at him. His pain just increased yours. You wish you could just be done with this.
“Jesus, Y/n, let me help you,” he almost screamed. A sob escaped your throat. One that had been building up in your months-long silence. Bruce put his hand on your shoulder. “Please,” his voice broke and you wrapped your arms around his body.
***
“He needs this.” You looked down at a boy, four years younger than you. Who is currently studying a Batarang.
“I can’t. I can’t do this again.”
You turned to your father. “He’ll just go out on his own… He’ll die. You know it. Do you want that?”
“Will you be okay with this?” You could hear the sob bubbling in his throat. One that will never come out.
“Will you?” you breathe.
You both stood in silence. Afraid of what would come next.
“He would hate this.” You laughed. “He would think that we’re replacing him. But we both know we’ll never be able to do that.” You start to walk away as your father just stands there. You pause. “Do it,” you command and he starts to descend the staircase.
*****
“Babe, we’re gonna be late!” you yelled to your girlfriend in the apartment you shared.
“Ready!”
God, couldn’t you have super speed? “I hate when you do that.”
“I know.” she grinned, tucking back one of your loose hairs. “But you love me anyways.”
You gave her an unimpressed smile. “There may be another reason.” You lunged your body out to stare obviously at her ass.
“Oh stop that!” She slapped your arm. You loved when that happened. When she gets frustrated and her accent comes out. God, what you’d do to give her everything she deserves?
She doesn’t talk about it much, her home, Krypton. So you never ask, you know it’s painful. Or that it can be but the days she does talk about it, you allow yourself to continue the conversation but you never push. She’s told you stories about various gardens her parents would take her to, school, going to her parents' work, her friends, the birth of her baby cousin, and she’s shared some about the death of Krypton. She’s as healed as one could expect.
Some days she’s just angry, you’ve seen the footage of her. She feels alone she lost everyone she ever knew. But she finds hope in Clark, Connor, and Jon. Sometimes even Krypto. She finds hope in you and you see it in her too that maybe your days will shine brighter. She struggles but she’s strong in more ways than one.
You kiss her lovingly, grab your purse, and lead her out the door of your shared apartment.
***
Kara giggles when you arrive at the Daily Planet, taking your hand and you go into the building. She puts her hand on your back as the elevator doors open to the top floor. Clark makes eye contact with you and smiles. He makes his way over and gives you both a hug.
“Hiya, kid!” God, he’s so much but he doesn’t suck the life out of you at the very least. He invited you both because Kara wanted to see about talking to someone for an interview and you wanted to make a few deals with CEOs.
“How’s Jon?” she smiles.
His smile grows. Is he glowing? Is that one of his abilities? “He’s doing great, since he started middle school he’s really enjoyed anything art…”
You see Lois walking that way, thank god. Clark’s great but is too nice for your taste.
“…I’m really proud of him. He really seems to just want to help people.” Lois taps him on his shoulder. His face softens to something closer to admiration rather than pride. “Hi.” Her face reflects his, softening a little. You look at Kara and she looks at you. Her face is as soft as Clark’s and you know you are in bliss.
“So,” Lois starts, she grabs Kara’s arm, “I can start to introduce you to everyone.”
Lois leads Kara away and you turn to Clark. “Wanye Enterprises has a Banquet in two weeks. I would love to see both of you there. Either as friends or journalists, whichever you prefer.”
“I’m sure we could both find good stories to pursue there.” He pats the side of your arm, his face is showing pride again.
He did see you grow up, you were what? Two or three when Bruce decided he need some extra help with you and Dick. You of course don't remember meeting him so he’s just always been there, your  Uncle Clark. You were seven when you figured out he was Superman, you were the one that told Dick. You thought it was obvious and that he should’ve figured it out.
“Send us the details for it and we’ll be there.”
You excuse yourself and find a few CEOs to chat with, you tell them of the Banquet and how it will help both Gotham and Metropolis. You convince some to attend, some to donate, and some to reach out to Kara for an interview.
After the incident, you decided to take a break from being a superhero and you focused on your studies. You climbed the ladder at Wayne Enterprises faster than anyone could expect. People like to say it is because you’re Bruce’s daughter but you quickly prove to them that you are worthy of your position. It took a little while for people to even consider calling you charming but once they did it never stopped. When you stopped being angry all the time was when you perfected your skills and began to excel at manipulating million and billionaires.
At some point during the night, your hair started to stand on end. You weren’t sure what it was but you were going to trust your instincts, it had saved your life more times than you could count. You could feel it in your bones something was wrong.
People started to trickle out. By eleven everyone has left, it’s just four of you now.
You all start to clean up, most things go in the trash but anything salvageable you pack up to donate. Once everything is cleaned and put away, Lois and Clark grab their things from their offices as Kara takes you by your arm and walks you to the elevator. She presses the button causing it to light up. Something is wrong, you look around while you wait. Nothing is different, nothing looks off. You’ve been here a million times and nothing has changed. You would know. That’s when you look out the window.
A figure outside on a rooftop. Your pulse is racing and you feel your body start to shake. Something is familiar about it. You let go of Kara’s arm, walking closer to the window. Each step is slow like you’re trying not to scare it away. Your instincts kick in and you couch down a little.
“What’s wrong?” Kara’s voice is deeper than usual. Serious.
A figure stands on a rooftop, he’s staring at you. Most of his body is obscured by the darkness but you do see a red helmet. No. This is wrong, he shouldn’t be there. This isn’t right. You blink hard and in the next moment, he’s gone.

“I’m in. Robin, what’s your status?” Bruce spoke into the earpiece, swiftly moving through the shadows of the lab. It was a simple mission: get into the lab Lex Luthor had created under Gotham City, collect intel needed to take down said lab, and leave. Unfortunately, it’s never really that simple, is it?
“I’m in, making my way through the west wing, cover is still intact,” Damian muttered back.
“Good. Nightwing?”
“Just entered the center lab, heading down to the bottom level now, haven't been spotted,” Dick said, making his way down the steps, careful to remain silent.
“Good. Remember the objective. In and Out.” Bruce muttered as he continued, searching for the locked file cabinet he was looking for.
“Files located. Ready for extraction” Damian said quietly through the intercom.
“I’ve made it to the bottom level. Requesting immediate backup, there's something here you guys need to see” Dick’s voice echoed through the earpiece, “They’ve made another clone.”
Bruce stopped what he was doing, silently making his way down the hall towards the staircase Dick took around a half hour before, “I'm on my way. Damian?”
“Heading there now. Files are downloaded.”
Upon arriving at the lower level, Dick bypasses security to let them in, making sure to reactivate the lock behind them, “Look.”
He gestured to the incubation tube not far from them, inside of it stood a young woman, who looked no older than 20, wearing a black skin-tight suit, a familiar “S” symbol adorning her chest, only it was the center of another symbol, the bat symbol, with bat ears at the top and bat wings on either side of it, a dark burgundy color with gold lining along the edges. The plaque below the tube read:
Attempt 1: G6B24
Specimen 1: Superman (Identity: Unknown)
Specimen 2: Batman (Identity: Unknown)
Status: Failed - Shows excessive signs of emotional intelligence (unfit for purpose), Subject is not invulnerable, Lacks thermal vision
‘Emotional Intelligence’ you must have shown hesitation, a moral compass.
“Father… what are we going to do?” Damian asked, he was at a loss, part of him felt slightly threatened, if you were taken in, he would no longer be the only child related to Bruce by DNA, and you were older, stronger— perhaps you would take his place, the place he’d finally felt he truly belonged; however he remained silent, his past self likely would have attempted to argue against your rescue, but he’d grown, he knew deep down you deserved a chance at this life just as much as he did.
Bruce looked up at your unconscious figure, at a loss for words, you were his daughter, intentional or not, there was a part of him in you, he only hoped that part wouldn't screw you over for life. As surprised as he was, he had an obligation to you the same way he did with Dick, Jason, Tim, Cass, Steph, Barbara, Duke, Damian, and every other vigilante he had taken under his wing.
His Batman instincts kicked in very quickly though, immediately refocusing himself, reading through the files, in an attempt to prepare himself for any possible scenario, he turned to Dick.
“Find all the DNA samples they have belonging to both me and Superman, we’re taking them,” he said, making sure to not hyper-focus on the thoughts flooding his mind.
“We’re not just leaving her here, are we? The plaque says ‘failed’. Who knows what could happen to her?” Dick said, he was frustrated.
Conner had gotten a chance to build a life for himself. You deserved one too, the mere thought of Bruce wanting to leave you there angered him.
“She’s coming with us. Damian, watch the door, Dick, find the samples," Bruce said gruffly, moving to the tube, bypassing the database to open it, without setting off any system safeguards. He reached into his utility belt and pulled out his shard of kryptonite, just in case it was needed to neutralize you.
The tube opened slowly, a swoosh sound filling the air as the cold fog escaped the tube, spilling into the air, your eyes fluttering open as you looked around, your eyes focusing on him.
You flew at him, full speed, pushing him against the wall with a thud, knocking the wind out of him, your eyes boring into his, glowing red, just as you were about to terminate him with your heat vision, he uttered the safe word he had seen in your file.
“Blue Pineapple” he grunted out, the red in your eyes fading away instantly, as you stared at him with wide eyes. You backed away slowly, lowering yourself to the floor. Your eyes fixed on him once again.
You recognized him from your programming, the man whose combat skills were engraved into your mind.
“Batman?”
Dick and Damian rushed over, making sure Bruce was okay. He was fine.
Dick turned to you, holding out his hand, “Come with me. We need to get you out of here, you aren’t safe here.”
You stared at him, your eyes narrowing, “Why should I trust you?”
Dick sighed, Those damn Wayne genetics, he kept his hand extended to you, “Because we’re helping you escape, if you come with us, you can meet Superman, be a hero just like him and Batman, you could actually see the world” he promised.
"I know what the world looks like." you stated bluntly.
He sighed, his hand not wavering, "But have you ever experienced it? Let us show you what that's like. You can have a life."
You thought for a moment, before letting out a small grunt, nodding at him and taking his hand, allowing them to lead you out of the lab grounds seemingly undetected.
When you stepped out, you stopped, eyes completely transfixed on the brilliant night sky. Blends of blues and purples and grays danced together to make the beautiful endless abyss above you. You knew every color there was. You knew everything, but at the same time you really didn't. You stared up at the stars, you knew how they came to be, you knew every scientific explanation there was yet seeing them… it made you feel a way you couldn’t explain.
They led you to the batmobile, situating you in the back seat with Damian, starting the drive to the Batcave. Bruce dialed Clark’s number into the keypad, it rang twice before he picked up.
“Hello?”
“Meet me in the Batcave. It’s urgent. Bring Conner.”
“What’s going o-”
He hung up.
Dick covered his mouth to hide his snicker, “So, Bruce, you and Clark have an official love child now, right? What will Lois think?” he feigned concern, placing the back of his hand over his forehead, committing to the drama, “Oh, how scandalous, I mean really, the shame! I can already see the headlines ‘Billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne turned common whore after breaking up happy metropolis family’”
Damian covered his laugh with a cough.
You looked at the three of them, utterly confused, still processing what was going on.
Bruce huffed, shooting them both a glare, “Dick, be mature.”
Dick smiled, “I can't help myself, just wait til Jason finds out.” He smiled in excitement, as they pulled into the side entrance of the Batcave.
Bruce let out a deep, tired sigh.
Tumblr media
Clark sat in silence in the Batcave, Conner standing to his left, his eyes wide as he stared at you, possessing some features belonging to both he and Bruce, and other features that seemed to be entirely your own.
You stared back, that same stoic nature radiating off of you that radiates off the Batman, however, he noted the defensive look in your eyes, one so similar to the one he saw in Conner when he first met him. He eyed your suit, noting the familiar “S” symbol, only it was a burgundy color, a rather interesting combination of the Batman and Superman emblems, and he was utterly confused.
He looked over at Bruce, still in his bat suit, his cowl pulled off, “Bruce, what the hell is going on?”
“I had to call you here because Luthor decided to create another clone. I did the DNA test, Clark, she’s a combination of both our DNA” Bruce looked at him, Dick and Damian standing to his right. It was silent for a moment, you felt like a guinea pig, the way they all stared at you. It made you angry.
Conner was the first to speak, stepping forward before opening his mouth, choosing his words carefully, “What’s your name?”
You responded immediately, it felt automatic. “Experiment attempt number one. Code G6B24. I was made to be the future killer of the Batman and the Kriptonian.”
He nodded slowly, “I’m a clone too, and Clark took me in— well, he took me in eventually— that’s besides the point. He showed me how to become my own person, we can help you do that too.”
You looked at him, eyes softening ever so slightly, but you kept your guard up like your Batman programming taught you to. “I was made to be a killer, if I don’t do what I was made to do, what am I worth?” you said quietly, voice unwavering.
Damian watched you, your words striking him in a way he hadn't expected them to, he understood what you were saying all too well.
Bruce decided to speak up next, “You were created, it’s not your fault what their intentions were when they did so. What you become from here on out is your choice.”
You stayed silent, eyes darting around the room—What is this feeling? Vulnerability? You knew it by definition, like you did most other feelings, but feeling them… it was different.
Dick noted the way you seemed overwhelmed, he approached you slowly, pulling up two chairs, motioning for you to sit, you chose to remain standing until he sat down first.
“You know, we trust you, we want to figure out a way for you to become the best you can be. On your terms” he said, offering you a small smile.
You looked around, the others nodded in agreement, “I was made to be only the best parts of you” you said, your gaze focusing on Clark and Bruce, they both put their best qualities forward to help others, how could you use those same qualities to destroy that?
“I… don’t want to be a killer. They said I was too… human. I thought I’d failed them.”
Damian decided to step forward, “You didn’t fail anyone, you are meant for greater things. You haven't killed anyone, you can choose your path. If the path you choose is the Robin mantle... I am willing to work with that.”
At this, the other men in the room turned to look at him, Clark and Conner were slack-jawed, this was the same kid who fought Tim tooth and nail over this mantle. The same mantle he was just… willing to give you?
Meanwhile Dick had a proud smile on his face, you thought you saw a small tear in his eye.
Bruce’s face seemed unreadable, however, you took notice of the way the corners of his lips turned up for a split second. before reverting back to their natural state.
You weren’t sure what to say, again, you knew what this mantle was, by definition. The reality was you had no sense of what it meant, the weight it carried. And you knew that.
“Thank you, but I feel like that title isn’t mine to take. I think I need to… become something that's true to who I am, whatever that may be.”
Bruce looked at you, the corner of his lip barely twitching up into a smile, a smile so subtle that only someone of your… background would notice, an attempt of his towards getting you more comfortable, “We should start with a name.”
You looked at Conner, he gave you an encouraging smile.
“Like I chose Conner, so now I’m Conner Kent,” he said with a small shrug, “You can choose whatever you want.”
“I see,” you thought for a moment, “I like Y/n.”
Clark smiled, standing up and clapping his hands together, “Great! Y/n Kent, has a nice ring to it.”
“Wayne.”
He turned towards Bruce, eyes narrowing slightly, “Kent.”
“Wayne.”
This time Conner spoke, “Kent.”
The three men stared at each other, arms crossed mirroring each-other’s glares.
Dick cut in, “How about Grayson?”
“No.” came their simultaneous response.
Dick frowned, slumping in the seat next to yours, “Jeez.”
Damian spoke next, “I suppose Al Ghul is off the table…”
Dick snorted, breaking out into a fit of laughter, you grinned softly at the sounds of his laughter, it reminded you of a windshield wiper.
Conner sighed, “Fine, what about Wayne-Kent?”
Bruce huffed, “I suppose.”
Clark nodded, the smile returning to his face as he turned to you, “Y/n Wayne-Kent”
You nodded, “I like it.”
Dick could help but laugh from beside you, “It's like I'm watching reality tv. Love me some baby mama drama.”
Clark opened his mouth to speak and closed it, before sighing and looking at Bruce, who just pinched the bridge of his nose.
Conner chuckled at the sight, turning to Damian, who’s lip quirked up in amusement.
Bruce looked up, his attention directed towards you, “Y/n, you can stay here for the night, I’ve asked Alfred to set up a room for you. Clark, Conner, come by tomorrow with Lois and Jon, I’ve called the others to come by as well, we’ll get everything situated tomorrow. For now, get some rest.”
Everyone nodded, Clark and Conner heading to the exit of the cave, Damian, Dick and Bruce leading you to the room that was prepared for you.
Dick brought you a sweater and some sweatpants to change into, closing the door with a soft, “Goodnight, kiddo.”
You changed in silence, slowly getting under the covers and drifting off to sleep, marking the start of your new life. Tomorrow would be an interesting day.
Tumblr media
You woke up the next morning, to a soft knock on the door, your super hearing picking it up better than you would have liked. You opened the door, revealing an older man you hadn’t seen before. He smiled softly, giving you an instantaneous sense of comfort you couldn’t explain.
“Hello Miss Y/n. My name is Alfred, I am the butler,” he greeted you, handing you a folded set of clothes, “Master Kent chose these for you, however if they are not to your liking, do let me know.”
“They’re fine…Thank you.”
He smiled warmly, the kind old man giving you a nod, “Once you've changed, do come down, I’ve prepared breakfast. The other members of the family will arrive soon to meet you.”
You gave him a short nod, he smiled again, your demeanor reminding him of the young Bruce he’d looked after all those years ago. He shut your door softly before retreating down the staircase, leaving you in your room to change.
You picked up the small note that rested at the top of the pile, reading it over.
Comfortable, Practical, and cool. Hope you like it. - Conner
You looked down at the neatly folded clothes, unfolding a black long sleeve turtleneck shirt, the material was thick but breathable, you slipped it on with ease, the foreign material soft against your skin, you appreciated that it didn’t suffocate you.
You reached for the pants next, dark gray cargo pants, these were thicker, and the had an overwhelming amount of pockets. You slipped them on before slipping on the boots that were at the bottom of the stack and exiting the room, going down the staircase.
Upon entering the dining room, you were met with Bruce sitting at the head of the table, reading the paper calmly eating his pancakes, to his right sat Dick chatting excitedly to the boy next to him, who smiled at him as he listened, he was a slender boy with black hair who looked a bit younger than Dick. Then there was Alred, calmly enjoying his breakfast. Finally there was Damian on the other side of Bruce, leaving an empty seat between Damian and Alred. You sat down, the pale boy noticing you first.
Bruce looked up, “Tim, this is Y/n.”
“Hello.” You sat up awkwardly. One thing you never learned was how to navigate social interactions.
He studied you for a moment, offering you a small smile, “I’m Tim.”
You gave a nod, returning his smile with a smaller one of your own.
“She knows, by the way.” Dick chimed in.
His eyes widened, was that why you were there?
“How?”
All eyes are on you. You opened your mouth to speak but Damian spoke first.
“She’s a clone. Father will explain everything when everyone else arrives so as to not waste time, until then, hold on to your childish curiosity. I’d like to enjoy my breakfast.”
Dick nodded, “She was literally made for this shit.”
“Watch your language Master Dick, it is deplorable to speak in such a way at the table, much less in the presence of a lady.”
Dick blushed, “Sorry Alfred.”
Bruce simply gave a nod.
Tim slumped back in his seat, wanting to ask you questions about your abilities, your earliest memories, who were you a clone of, how your programming worked, the boy was itching to know it all.
Breakfast passed by relatively quickly after that, you weren’t bombarded with questions, much to your relief. Alfred kindly asked you how you slept to which you replied that you slept well. The sound of casual conversation and glassware scraping together filling the room. You enjoyed observing the atmosphere.
Tumblr media
Clark and Conner were the first to arrive at the manor, greeting you happily, with them was a woman and a younger boy, who immediately went to sit by Damian.
Clark brought them over to you, the woman smiled warmly at you. It made you feel safe.
She held your hand in hers, “My name is Lois,” her voice was kind, genuine. You noted how she carried herself. Strong, secure, honest.
Clark was quick to bring Jon over, excited to introduce him, “This is my son, Jon.”
“Hi!”  he beamed at you, you smiled, he was cute. Cheerful as he smiled brightly at you.
“Hello, my name is Y/n.” you greeted the two, who smiled at you.
Conner was the next to approach, “Did you like the clothes? I picked them out cause it was all I used to wear, but who knows, you may want something more… fashionable.”
You smiled softly, “They're nice, thank you.”
“On that note actually,” Clark said, “I was thinking we can take you shopping later, Bruce and I can pay.”
Bruce deadpanned, “That’s a joke, right?”
He smiled, “Of course, you’re paying for everything.”
“Sounds about right.”
Chatter filled the room not long after, Jon and Damian catching up on the couch while Conner and Tim started a conversation of their own.
The next people to arrive were three young women, blonde, brunette, and red hair. They had arrived together.
The blonde spoke first, “Why'd you call us here Bruce? We had planned for brunch.” She bitterly narrowed her eyes at him, the brunette behind her giving a short nod of agreement.
Bruce sighed, “We’re waiting on Jason. He’s late.”
“As always.” The redhead said with a sigh, though you could see she wasn't actually upset.
The blonde girl turned to you first smiling, “I’m Stephanie, but call me Steph. I’m assuming you’ll be joining our vigilante posse.” She seemed funny, and kind, like she truly cared for those around her.
“Somewhat, I don’t really know. I’m Y/n.” You said bluntly.
“Pretty name.” She smiled, gesturing to the red haired woman behind her, “This is Barbara, but she's really just Babs.” She then gestured to the brunette, “That’s Cass. She’s lovely.”
You looked at them and nodded, “It’s nice to meet you.”
Barbara smiled warmly at you, “You too, I’m so glad there’ll be another girl around, we can always use more company.” She smiled at you so kindly, despite having only just met you. Her voice was sweet, like honey.
Cass smiled softly at you, “Come to brunch with us later. Or, lunch, now since Jason is holding us up.”
You nodded your lip quirking up into a small smile, “I’d enjoy that.”
Truthfully, you didn't know what the fuck brunch was. But she said lunch and that you knew. You'd find out about brunch later.
Then, as if on cue, the man in question arrived, walking through the door, slipping off his brown jacket and tossing it on the couch. He was tall, with a stocky frame, jet black hair with a white streak on the front.
“This better be good.”
Tim mumbled, “Finally”
“Miss me Timmy?”
“Quite the contrary.”
The one called Jason laughed before giving him a small nudge, to which Tim swatted his hand away.
His eyes fixed on you, then on Bruce.
“Dude, seriously? Another one? You have a problem man. You’d think you would’ve stopped after me.”
Bruce stood up, “Jason, sit down. Now that you’re all here I wanted to introduce you to Y/n. She’s a clone, made from both mine, and Clark’s DNA.”
“Holy shit, man.”
“Jason, will you shut up?”
“Never.”
“As I was saying, she’ll be here in the manor for the time being, I’ll be training her and assessing her combat technique.”
“Hold on,” Clark interjected, “She should come with us, she needs to get the hang of her powers.”
“Clark, I have a state of the art training area in the cave.”
“So? We’re supers, all we need is an open field.”
“We need to assess her combat skills, and also assess the extent of her powers. She isn’t invulnerable. We need to prioritize getting to the bottom of that.”
Clark huffed but nodded, understanding the full extent of your abilities was vital in actually training you.
“It’s like I’m watching a custody battle.” muttered Steph, Barbara laughing quietly beside her.
“Wait- So Y/n is basically if you and Clark had a baby?” Tim gawked at them, his eyes shifting from Bruce to Clark, to you. When his eyes landed on you, he fired questions like he was on a time limit.
“How do Bruce’s genetics affect your abilities? Are you immune to kryptonite and invulnerable? How does your thermal vision work? Enhanced strength? Can you fly? Can you fly as fast as Superman? Do you have combat training? How do y-”
Conner smacked a hand over his mouth, leading him back to his seat, “Lets try not to overwhelm her with the questions.” He chuckled.
Tim nodded, looking up at you, “Sorry, Y/n.”
“That’s okay. To answer your questions, his genetics don’t necessarily have a huge impact on any of my abilities, I was created with every available video of Batman fighting embedded into my mind, and the combat skills were engraved in my memory, I should be able to replicate his fighting style to a tee. I’m not invulnerable, but in theory, the stealth I was programmed with allows me to stay agile enough that I shouldn’t often get hurt. I don't have thermal vision, but I do have laser vision, enhanced strength, and flight, although I haven’t tested how fast I actually can fly. And like I said, my combat training is essentially the combat footage uploaded into my mind.”
Tim had nodded, eyes trained on yours in complete interest as you answered each question, occasionally jotting something down on the notes app of his phone.
Lois narrowed her eyes slightly at both Bruce and Clark, “I do hope you’re factoring in giving her the opportunity to build an actual social life. Maybe get her enrolled in school.”
“She has doctorate-level information on several different topics stored into her mind, as well as fluency in 8 languages. I think she’ll be fine, Lois,” Bruce replied.
She rolled her eyes, “Okay, so school’s not necessary, what about building a social life for herself? That’s important.”
“There’s Young Justice,” Conner said, “I figured she’d join.”
Tim nodded in agreement, “I can help her get situated.”
“Where will I stay?” you asked, you didn’t particularly enjoy how they were all discussing you as if you weren't there, but there honestly wasn’t much you could do.
“You can stay at the manor, or you can stay with the team, but it'd be best if you lived here in the Manor.” Bruce replied.
“Why isn’t Metropolis an option?” Clark muttered.
“Because it’s more practical to have her here in Gotham, living with Tim will make it easier to adjust to the team.”
“I want time with her, Bruce.”
“You’ll get it. We’ll have her assessed, then three times a week she’ll train and get a hold of her powers with you.”
Clark nodded, satisfied with that answer.
Lois spoke again, turning to you, “Y/n, how does that sound to you?”
You blinked. “It sounds fine. My super hearing allows me to hear every conversation proficiently.”
She chuckled softly, “It’s a figure of speech sweetheart, I meant if you’re okay with everything that was said, you’ve been a bit quiet.”
You felt your face grow hot, “Oh. Yeah, I’m okay with it.”
Clark gave you a fond smile.
Bruce looked at you and smiled softly, a barely noticeable one, but a smile nonetheless.
The bulk of the conversation was over. The people in the room falling into easy conversation with one another, you look around, not sure what to do. That is until Jason approaches you, a kind smile on his face.
“Hey Y/n, I’m Jason, I’ll be honest, you probably won't see me too often cause I can barely stand being around Bruce, but… if he’s ever a dick, call me and I’ll either punch him for you and take you somewhere he’s not.” he grinned, “Or both.”
You laughed softly, “I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you.”
He nodded, “I’ll be raiding the kitchen, but if anyone asks, I left.” He shoots you a grin before slipping away.
It’s not long after that when Jon approaches you, Damian by his side, he shoots you a toothy grin, “So, you’re like, my sister now, right?”
You’re not sure how to respond, but you feel a puddle of warmth pooling in your heart, it’s nice. You smile at him softly, “I suppose so.”
He grins, “And that would also make you Damian’s sister. right?”
“I suppose so.”
“See Damian, we’re blood brothers by extension.”
“Jon, that is the most imbecilic logic I’ve ever encountered. Just because Y/n is both my blood and yours doesn’t mean–”
“Blood brothers!” He had shouted cheerfully, before walking away and over to Lois to inform her of the good news.
Damian sighed, though you took notice of the soft smile that flashed across his face, you concluded that he cared for him.
A lot of people in this family– Bruce’s family specifically, tend to hide affection, despite the fact that it is apparent to you that they feel it. You decide not to focus on it, people are complicated.
You chat a bit with various people in the room, Lois telling you that you’re always welcome to visit whenever you’d like, Barbara talking to you about how her work as Oracle, Steph telling you all about the other vigilantes you’ll probably end up crossing paths with. Tim and Conner sat by you, telling you all about the team and the people you’ll meet once all your training is done.
Slowly, people start to leave, you saw Jason slip out the front door first, sending you a wink. Dick left not long after, needing to return to his responsibilities in Bludhaven, making sure to tell you you’re always welcome to visit him over there. Then Clark left with Lois, Jon, and Conner, leaving the residents of the manor plus, Cass, Steph and Barbara.
Damian and Tim had retreated to their rooms, while Alfred busied himself with household chores, Bruce stood up, approaching you before saying, “Did you still want to go shopping? You’ll need training clothes.”
You nodded, “Yes, please.”
Steph perked up, rushing towards the two of you, “Oh, we have to come.”
“Steph, you go shopping every week. With my card.”
Barbara chimed in, “It’s not about that Bruce, you have a terrible fashion sense. We can’t let you impose that onto Y/n.”
Cass nodded in agreement.
“We’re just buying training clothes.”
“She can’t wear training clothes in her daily life,” Steph rolled her eyes, “She needs a wardrobe.”
You smiled, “I would like a wardrobe.”
“See?”
Bruce sighed but nodded, “Let's go then.”
Steph cheered while Barbara and Cass high-fived behind her, it was an amusing site.
Tumblr media
When you arrived at the mall, Steph immediately linked arms with you, dragging you around to her favorite stores, paying no mind to your super strength potentially being able to accidentally break her arm. It caught you off guard, not only the physical display of affection, but the trust.
Again, you felt that soft puddle of warmth pool in your chest. You could get used to that.
You had gotten to know Barbara and Cass fairly well during the trip as well, Barbara was sweet, she and Steph made you laugh more than you thought you could. Cass and you got along well too, she picked out the clothes you liked the most, always nodding in approval when you would try anything on, a soft smile on her face. The three of them opened their group up to you so quickly, it had surprised you, you felt that with their company you were better able to navigate finding yourself.
The four of you hadn’t paid much mind to Bruce trailing behind you as you went from store to store, not that he minded. He held a fond smile as he observed the four of you giggling, talking, and having a good time.
He knew his focus on training was important, but he also knew Lois was right (not that he’d admit that to anyone), you needed a social life too. And he knew your heightened emotional intelligence would surely allow you to obtain that, you just needed to blossom, and allow yourself to break free of the restraints you put on yourself.
He’d lost count of how many times he had swiped his card that day, at some point he had decided to just start waiting by the front, once you guys were ready, he’d walk over, swipe his card, and you guys would move on to the next shop. He wouldn't say this to anyone, but he enjoyed doing things like this, taking care of the people he cares about.
The last store you had gone to was WayneTech, it was Bruce’s idea. You needed a phone in order to keep everyone’s contacts. So they brought you there where you got the latest model of their cell phone line, it was sleek and thin. You picked out a case and you got a screen protector. Bruce had told you that once you got to the Batcave he’d input league contacts, safety features, as well as league-level security settings.
By the end of the trip it was early in the evening, Bruce had his arms absolutely filled with shopping bags, and what he couldn’t carry was carried by you and Steph. The five of you stepped out into the parking lot, the sun setting, casting a deep orange hue on the parking lot. You took in the image in front of you, you didn’t know suns could set so beautifully.
The ride home was nice, the car was filled with the soft chatter of the four of you, Bruce didn’t feel the need to listen in. The soft music playing on the stereo as a background was a nice addition to the atmosphere.
When you’d arrived at the manor, the girls had bid you goodbye, but not before making sure they had your number to add you to their group chat. You were warned by Steph that Cass’s meme game could not be beat. You were slightly confused but nodded, a happy smile on your face. They each gave you a hug before getting in their cars and heading off.
The walk into the manor was silent, but not awkward, mainly the two of you taking armfuls of bags up to your room.
As he shut the door, Bruce turned to you, “It’s not too late, if you want, we could start out on some training.”
You nodded, going into your room to change, “I’ll be down there in a bit.”
He nodded, walking away to change as well.
You entered the Batcave shortly after, comfortable in your black sweatpants, and a black long sleeve athletic shirt. Now, having a better opportunity to take it all in, it was massive. You looked to your left to see Damian sparring with Tim in one of the further training areas. You walked over to Bruce, he gave you a small smile, leading you to the second training area by Tim and Damian, who by now had stopped sparring, in favor of observing your skill.
“You can replicate my fighting style to a tee, right?”
You nodded.
“Let’s see it.”
You charged first, making sure to suppress your strength, your movements swift and calculated, landing a fast right kick to his abdomen. He sidestepped, landing a swift punch to your side. You kept attempting attacks on eachother, each one dodging the other flawlessly.
Tim and Damian watched in awe as the two of you gracefully moved, as if you were dancing. This went on for several minutes, until you attempted a fast left kick to his side, which he caught, using as leverage to flip you over on your back.
Your limbs ached, you looked up at him, “How did you do that?”
He held a hand out to help you up, “I’m not as fast with my left kicks as I am with my right ones. My weaknesses are your weaknesses.”
You nodded. Made sense.
“You have good technique, and you replicate my fighting perfectly, but that’s all it is. A replication. You need to make it your own. Adapt it in accordance with your abilities, you can’t do that now because Clark hasn’t trained you, but in time you will.”
You nodded, your chest swelling with pride at his compliment, you knew after your training with Clark you would be able to better adjust your fighting style.
Damian walked over to you, “Y/n. I’d like to spar, you’ve proven to be a worthy opponent.”
You nodded, it would be good to spar with someone with a different fighting style. Tim sat down to the side, perfectly content with just observing for now, like earlier, he occasionally jotted down some notes on his phone. You decided you didn’t mind it. It was endearing.
This time, Damian charged first, landing a swift right kick to your ribs, you turned and landed a hard kick to his chest, sending him back, before he flipped and caught himself, running towards you again. His smaller frame provided him with an advantage as he jumped onto your shoulders, before he could land his blow, you flipped your body, sending him to the floor, landing on his back with a thud. You crouched over him, extending your hand.
“You okay?”
“Fine.” he took your hand, getting up to his feet, you gave him a soft smile, which he returned, giving you a nod of approval. He, like Bruce, didn’t often use his words, but you were able to discern their intentions just fine.
Bruce then led you to a machine he had in the cave, where it analyzed your genetics in comparison to Clark’s, he had determined you were missing the genetic composition that happened to be the main source of invulnerability, therefore the reason you were the way you were. You are unfortunately still weak when exposed to kryptonite.
You were tired by the end of the night. You felt you had bonded with Damian, he had asked you to spar with him another time, to which you agreed.
Tumblr media
The next day, Bruce had sent you over to Smallville, where Clark had decided on training you, ‘A good old fashioned open field’ were his exact words.
He made sure to send you wearing your original suit, not knowing how fast you would be flying, just in case, only you didn’t like it, so you opted to wear some sweats over the suit.
And there you were, floating about 300 feet in the air with him, as he explained the basics of flying.
“You want to create your own leverage, using your flight, you should be able to do this.” He bent one leg, tilting to the right as he effortlessly glided in that direction, he repeated the action only now going in the opposite direction.
You nodded, imitating his movements, gliding from side to side before stopping and looking at him. He smiled brightly at you, “You’re doing great, kid. There was never a point where you didn’t have powers, so this should be easy. Now, we’ll test your speed.”
You nodded, “How are we doing that?”
He pulled out a stopwatch, “I’m going to wait here while you fly to Gotham and back. You know the route?”
You nodded.
“Okay… and…. Go!”
You immediately shot forward, a slightly bumpy start but your body adapted immediately, you felt the wind whip through your hair, and a smile spread across your face as you made a U-turn around Gotham, making it back to Clark in seconds.
“2.6 seconds. That’s good.” He smiled at you.
You went on like that for the next few hours, him giving you encouraging words of advice, and you gained better control over your abilities, him providing you with tips he learned over the years. For that last hour, Jon and Conner joined the two of you, the four of you eventually just playing air tag until Martha and Lois called you in for dinner.
They insisted you stay for dinner, and you had no mind to refuse, spending time with them was nice. Jon insisted he sat next to you at dinner, excitedly talking your ear off about whatever he’d gotten to that day, and sharing his favorite stories about Damian with you. He acts like he doesn't like people, but he’s got a soft spot for a lot of us, were his exact words. You honestly completely agreed, you smiled at him as he continued talking.
That day you’d gotten to know Martha and Jonanthan Kent, who insisted you called them Ma and Pa. They instantly coddled you as if they’d known you since birth, though, in a way, that is technically the case.
They didn't let you leave empty handed, sending you off with tupper-ware filled with leftovers, cookies and pie. You thanked them for their hospitality and headed back to the manor.
Tumblr media
The next few months were mainly doing morning and evening training with Bruce, occasionally Dick would stop by to train with you, always telling you he was proud of your improvement, which never failed to make you glow just a little brighter with pride. He’d begun a tradition where he would treat you to a burger after training, or whatever it was you were craving. He said that it was his goal to get you to try every fast food joint in Gotham, deciding that it was just an essential part of living there. You quickly decided you hated fast food, but never said anything because that wasn’t at all what mattered to you, what mattered to you was the bond you were creating with your older brother.
Your relationship with Bruce wasn’t perfect. There were times you saw how focused he was on his mission, neglecting the feelings of those around him, he could be an asshole. And with you still navigating your emotions, you’d get angry and yell, and so would he. If you saw him brushing off Damian, or Tim, one look at the crestfallen expressions on their faces was enough to get you angry. You shouldn’t have been surprised, truthfully, you weren’t. You were too similar. You were just fortunate enough to be surrounded by people early on who could convince you to let them in.
Regardless of the imperfections between you and Bruce, you knew he cared. He always showed it with the small smile he’d give you as he held up two tickets to the movie you had wanted to see. Or in the way he’d lure everyone into the living room with snacks for a movie night. Or how he’d try his best to always express to you that you were doing well. That you were enough, and that you deserved to be there.
You’d grown closer with Tim, too, always willing to help him with his assignments (not that he often needed it, but on the rare occasions his sleep deprived self couldn’t wrap his head around a problem). You’d often go to him when you needed help figuring something out on your phone, to which he would offer a simple solution you hadn’t seen before.
Tim was kind, he showed he cared for you by fixing things, when you cracked your screen protector by accidentally tapping it too hard, he made you a new one that could withstand the force of a bullet. He learned to confide in you over time, telling you about Bernard, expressing his worries to you about whether or not he’s good enough. You’d always tell him he was more than good enough.
Damian had taken to calling you ‘sister’, often challenging and teasing you when he could, you’d developed a relationship where he’d go to you for company. You’d sit in the garden and take in the life around you, while he sat a few feet away and drew it.
Once, he drew you while you weren’t looking, when he finished, he handed it to you without a word and walked away. In the bottom right corner you read ‘Y/n Wayne-Kent’ in neat handwriting, just below that, ‘sister’. That was the first time he’d used that word for you. Your heart swelled.
You continued seeing Steph, Barbara, and Cass, regularly having lunch with them and talking with them on the phone. Barbara, or as you now called her, Babs, was always there to guide you when you needed it, she’d often send you small gifts from time to time, like jewelry that reminded her of you.
Cass and you would often find the most peaceful company in each other. She would listen to you talk about all the things you'd been learning, telling you about her own experience adjusting to a new life.
Steph and you bonded over poorly written hallmark movies, she always giggled madly when you would point out plot inconsistencies, wearing the most confused expression she had ever seen on a person, you didn’t understand why at first, you would just state facts, but you always enjoyed the time with her. She always says you guys should start a podcast, and you always agree. You hope she never asks you what a podcast is... because you genuinely didn't know.
True to his word, you didn’t see Jason often, but there were a few instances  where you felt particularly suffocated by Bruce’s training that you took him up on his offer to take you somewhere he wasn’t. Those moments were... nice. Every time, he would bring food, and take you to his apartment, where you talked about books and he introduced you to some of his favorite movies. You didn’t know why he and Bruce didn’t get along, but you chose not to pry.
Alfred had taken a liking to you instantly, he enjoyed giving you etiquette lessons, and would bake all kinds of scones and cookies for you to try. His humor was at times very dry and sarcastic, which never failed to make you laugh. He taught you how to bake once, finding you were exceptionally good at it, ‘Miss Y/n, I think we’ve found your natural talent’. You hadn’t expected to be good at it, but Alfred said you were phenomenal.
You’d also train with Clark 3 times a week, getting even closer with the Kents, integrating yourself in both families. It was interesting being part of two very different families. But you wouldn’t have it any other way.
Clark had shown you a lot about your powers, but it was never just training. It had become a necessity for the two of you to fly to some famous landmark and have lunch together, before flying back to Smallville for more training.
Clark was constantly trying his best for you, he still had his regrets from his initial relationship with Conner, and although he was forgiven and their relationship was rebuilt, he knew he lost time. And he absolutely refused to repeat that and hurt someone else who didn’t deserve it.
You always stayed for dinner, you found that you could never say no to Jon, the one time you tried was awful, you felt so bad that you went back the next day and took him shopping. With Bruce's card, duh.
Jon was stuck to you like glue whenever you were over. He always insisted on sitting by you and talking to you about whatever he’d been up to. He flew around with you a lot, you guys would play games that he taught you how to play. Your favorite moments were when he and Damian would allow you in to watch them play video games because ‘How do you not know how to play video games? That’s just wrong. We’ll teach you.’
Conner had spent more and more time with you as well, telling you about a lot of social cues, the importance of boundaries, etc. He was determined to help you adjust in every way he could, he shared his experiences with you when he first started working in teams. You learned a lot from him, he was very affectionate with you, but in that awkward-older-brother way. He’d give you a soft pat on the back and a smile, he knew you’d do just fine.
Lois became your role model, you truly admired her. She was strong, outspoken, confident. She helped you not be afraid of forming your own opinions and voicing them. One time she saw you yell at Bruce over something he’d done, and all she could do was smile proudly.
These people whose lives you just appeared in one day, very quickly became your family. Every day you were reminded of how lucky you were to have come to care for them as much as you do. Bonding with them was nice, and you very quickly understood the appeal of having family.
These are people who care for you unconditionally, simply because they want to. Because every moment that they spend with you, they choose to.
And just like that, you were ready to meet the team. You had learned to combine your combat skills with your powers, if you need to, you can fight in mid air. You’d learned to incorporate your abilities into your technique to enhance your own personal style. And it felt amazing.
You knew every possible way to deliver an effective, non-lethal blow.  Of course, you needed a suit. Bruce offered to enhance the one you had worn the day they rescued you, but you wanted a new one. To you, that suit represented what you were created to be, and that is not who you are. You wanted something true to yourself, and he understood and wholeheartedly supported you. Damian helped you make a sketch, and together you’d designed the perfect representation of you. And you became Eclipse. The alignment of two heroes, though unintentional, created a whole new hero. You.

Platonic!Damian Wayne x WonderGirl!Reader x Platonic!Jon Kent
Summary: A short story on “really want to see just a cute little platonic relationship with a reader who’s wonder woman’s daughter with damian wayne and jon kent. like a mini trinity goofing around while bruce, clark and diana are like “oh hell 😐”
A/n: Inspired by this post
Masterlist - Tip Jar
“Obviously Jon will be the best leader.” Y/n declares, finger outright pointing towards the half kryptonian. Damian’s snorts at such a blasphemous proclamation.
“That is ridiculous, I am obviously the best suited to be a leader. If you two went on a mission by yourselves you would not even develop a sound strategy. Jon would come up with a half-baked plan which will quickly crumble, while you would just go to the location and wreck havoc until you win.” Damian accuses, a signature bat frown now adorning his features.
Y/n just rolls her eyes with a groan. “It’s part of my strategy to overwhelm the enemy… it always works.” Which only grates on Damian’s nerves.
“You are only proving my point further. It is reckless and stupid. You cannot be successful by being a brute.” A high pitched gasp escapes, Y/n’s hands now slamming down onto the table.
“Shut up Damian! Just because you don’t like my battle strategy, doesn’t mean you’re better.” Smirking he crosses his arms over his chest, feet now kicked up on top of the hologram table.
“I am better than you, because I am smarter, stronger and better trained than you.” Jon slouches further back into his seat, nervousness creeping up his spin at the familiar dispute.
“Guys… let’s just calm down -“
“Oh shut up you annoying little rat! How about a game of capture the flag to prove who should be the teams leader. Whoever captures the flag wins!” Y/n asserts, fist outstretched waiting for Jon and Damian to fist bump in agreement.
“You are on Little Wonder.” Damian stretches his fist out, bumping the young wonders knuckles with his own. Y/n only clenches her jaw in irritation.
“Don’t call me that, Shorty!”
“Not all of us are born with Amazonian genetics freak!” Y/n and Damian are just about pressing noses, now playing an unspoken game of chicken.
Jon continues to stand behind them pinching the bridge of his nose. The soft ticks and beeps sounding off from the technology around them. The Justice watchtower now shifting and readjusting before settling back to a set position. “Guys… I’m not encouraging this I’m out.” Jon crosses his arms, launching himself backwards into the leather seat again, he turns his attention back to the holographic table, checking for his Dad’s location and only hoping that the pin is moving back towards the tower. Y/n and Damian only meet eyes with a knowing smirk.
“Jon’s the flag?” Y/n asks only getting a small nod from Damian.
“On your mark.” Damian says which only makes Jon’s eye bulge.
“Guys - stop! I said I didn’t want to be part of your games!” The two devils only smile as if not hearing his refusal.
“Get set.” Y/n says, the two now shifting their weight to the balls of their heels. Jon growls twisting and taking off in a quick dash.
“Go!” Damian and Y/n both shout taking off at inhuman speeds, eager to catch their human(?) flag.
Damian pulls out his bat gun, launching a wire and hook into the long wall in an attempt to quick zip line towards Jon only for Y/n to grab the wire and snap it with her bare hands.
“Leave me alone!” Jon shouts, the sonic sound of his shout vibrating the objects around him.
“You’re mine!” Y/n springs out, grabbing the corner of Jon’s jacket only for Jon to step away launching Y/n head first into the large computers and screens with a loud crack. The screens glass sprays across the floor, the Amazonian only jumps up and bounds towards Jon without a second to spare.
“Launch emergency Kryptonite!” Damian shouts into his suit mic now throwing lethal batarangs and recalling the projectiles. Jon only evading the objects by mere millimeters.
The projectiles where only continuously puncturing the steel walls and solid objects around. Sparks fly as Damian hits an electric reserve.
The red emergency lights now blaring a warning.
But the three pay no mind to the danger alarm, Y/n and Damian too absorbed in capturing their objective. Jon too distracted to not getting injured.
————
“Code Red, Watchtower is under attack.” An AI Voice announces into the earpieces of the Justice team. “Permission to counter attack the enemy by any means necessary?”
“The kids!” Superman exclaims, Batman redirecting the route of the Batship.
“Permission denied.” Batman grumbles into his mic. Worry now coating the features of Clark.
“What foe could be attacking the tower right now?” Diana voices, hoping that the answer will relieve some distress. Batman only grumbles a reply.
“Probably the kids.”
————-
Arriving to the tower the big three stand at the teleport entry, eyeing the mass damage that has occurred on the tower in the short moments they were gone. All of the screens are cracked and ruin, the holographic projector now laying on the floor in a broke heap. Sparks flying away from live wires.
“I caught him first!” Damian shouts, yanking Jon towards him.
“What are you stupid?! I caught him first!” Y/n shouts yanking Jon into her grasp. Jumping up she locks her legs around his torso, arms wrapping firmly around Jon’s neck in a lock. “You can claim him if you wretch my dead body off of him.”
“Fine.” Damian says coldly, taking a step back and launching himself onto the two making them tumble over with a loud thud. Yelps and grasps coming from the three now strewn a-crossed the floor. Jon now trapped between his two friends, thrashing limbs.
“What is going on here?” Diana yells making Y/n instantly release her grip and scrambling to get up only to slam into the floor as Damian’s grip is still wrapped around her ankle. The three slowly look up at their parents faces who are angry to say the least. “How could you let this happen.”
Y/n kicks her foot at Damian, before finally standing up, Y/n slouches under the angry gaze of her mother. “We couldn’t decide on a leader so we made it a competition of capture the flag… Jon’s the flag.” Diana’s eye twitched at the absurdity of your words. The watch tower was destroyed because their super kids decided to settle an argument with ‘Capture the Flag.’
“And added inflicted millions of dollars in damages in the process. You’re all in big trouble.” Clark reprimands, his usual friendly demeanour now replaced with stern anger.
“But Dad! I didn’t even want to be part of this stupid game!” Jon whines which only makes Y/n and Damian shoot Jon a silent deathly look.
“A good leader would’ve prevented a dispute in their team.” Clark reprimands Jon which only makes him bow his head in shame.
“You’re all clearly not ready for a serious role in the hero’s league if you plan of settling disputes with childish games and inflicting mass damage in the process - Clark, Diana and I will re-evaluate your readiness. Until then, the Little Three team is banned from missions.”
“What?! This is so unfair!” Y/n exclaims in exasperation. The hero’s team banned before they even got started. They hadn’t even picked a leader for crying out loud.
“What is unfair is that Jon, Damian and yourself have destroyed perfectly good resources all for a game.” Clark reprimands. “Jon your grounded, you will be staying home for the rest of the summer completing all farm chores including mine.” Jon groans at his punishment.
It was Bruce’s turn to supply Damian a punishment. “No vigilante work until you move stocks to cover the cost of your handiwork.” Damian stands stick straight, accepting his punishment without resistance.
“Yes father.”
Diana leans over, her brows knitting together in irritation. “Listen here missy!” Before Diana could utter another word, Y/n’s hands reach out to her mothers face, pressing her fingers into her mothers pinched brows, as if making Diana not frown would resolve her anger. Y/n begins to jut her lip out and stare up at her mother with big shining eyes.
“I’m sorry Mama, please don’t be mad.” Her soft and delicate voice pulling at Diana’s heartstrings.
“…it’s okay baby…” Diana folds instantly to her adorable daughter. “Just don’t do it again.” She coos giving her precious girl a big kiss on the cheek. Y/n only looks at her fellow mates with the cheekiest of grins.
The two boys stare in disbelief as Y/n escape parental punishment, especially as she is the instigator of the incident. Jon decides to take the plunge. “Dad-“
“Don’t even try it son.”

His Little Girl - Clark Kent x Reader
Tumblr media
Requested by Anon - Can I have some sweet Superdad!Clark? Where he holds his baby girl, Lara, and it’s all fluff! Please!
***
Clark’s cape floated around him as he carefully opened the balcony door. The apartment was silent. He listened, smiling at the sound of your heartbeat. It was slower. You must have fell asleep.
Tilting his head, he caught the quick, fluttering heartbeat of his newborn daughter. He sucked in a breath as a wail erupted through the apartment.
Clark dashed to the nursery. “Hush, sweetheart.” He glanced down at his fussing baby, taking in her dark hair and perfect little face. A face that was so like yours. His heart melted. He cradled her in his arms, gently lifting her up against his chest.
Lara quieted, her little eyes opened. Her hand rested on his chest, right on the S. Clark hummed a lullaby Ma used to sing to him. A smile pulled at his lips. He heard you shift in the next room.
"Go back to sleep, little Lara. I know you're not hungry," Clark sang softly to the tune of the lullaby. Throughout saving the world tonight, Clark listened for you and Lara. For his own peace of mind, to know you were safe. He knew you fed her just an hour ago.
"And your diaper isn't dirty." Clark smirked. "So were you just lonely, honey?" Lara cooed softly. Clark held his finger out to her, letting her take it. She squeezed it as gently as the flap of a butterflies wing.
He sighed as he heard a shuffle behind him. “Clark? Is she okay?” You wrapped your arms around his waist, resting your cheek against his back.
“She’s okay. Just wanted some attention.” Clark glanced at you, smiling when you were almost asleep. “Go back to bed, sweetheart. I have her.”
You hummed, staying where you were. “How is the world?”
Clark chuckled. “Good, in less trouble now.” He turned in your arms. You almost slumped to the floor, but he caught you in one arm. “Woah there, let’s put you back to bed.”
“But I’m lonely too.” You melted into him. Clark kissed the top of your head. Lara cooed again. “We missed you.”
Clark chuckled. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” You tilted your head up blindly, puckering your lips. Clark kissed you sweetly.
He pulled away and gently guided you back to your bedroom. “Go back to sleep, love. I’ll join you in a minute.”
You hummed, eyes closed as he lifted the covers for you to climb into bed. He chuckled when you seemed to pass out immediately. It would be interesting to see if you remembered this in the morning.
Lara whined. Clark sang softly to her as he walked back to the nursey. She was so little, so fragile. He studied her, pacing the room to rock her back to sleep. “I don’t know how my parents had the strength to send me off. It must have been like tearing their heart out.” Clark kissed her forehead. Lara cooed.
“Of course, I would do it to save your life.” Tears filled his eyes. He took a deep breath. “But I hope it would never come to that.”
Lara’s eyes closed. Clark listened as her heartbeat slowed, easing back into sleep. He gently laid her back in her bassinet. “Good night, little Lara.”
Moonlight drifted in through the window. Clark pulled himself away from Lara and went back into your bedroom. You were still fast asleep. Clark leaned down to kiss your cheek before moving to clean himself up.
“Clark?” You mumbled softly, rolling over once he climbed into bed. “Is Lara okay?”
“She’s fine.” He pulled you into his arms. You rested your head on his chest. He listened to your breathing, even and steady.
Looking down at you, Clark felt content. More content than he had been in his whole life. He closed his eyes and let himself drift off into dreamland.

Gloss & Glasses: Chapter One (940 words)
Pairing: Clark Kent x reader
Warnings: none for this chapter
___
The people wanted to know. That’s what you told yourself as you walked through Arkham Asylum. You were being escorted by two armed guards and trying not to make eye contact with anyone in the cells. You had heard of Gotham’s crazies but you’d never come face to face with any. But the criminals around you weren’t who you were worried about.
Last week, you paced your father’s office venting to him about how boring your magazine seemed. You were running out of shocking fashion trends and celebrity scandals to report on. So, as your heels clicked back and forth and you reapplied your lipgloss anxiously for the third time, your father sighed.
“Why don’t you try reporting on crime? And real important events?” He suggested, as he always did. Perry White was so proud when his daughter told him she was going to college for journalism. However, after she graduated, and showed no interest in newspapers, crime, or anything of the sort, he was very disappointed.
“What billionaires are up to is important. The people wanna know. And besides-” you were cut off by one of your dad’s reporters.
He poked his head in, “Harley Quinn’s been arrested again. Sent to Arkham.”
“Bill, if you have to say again in a tone like that, do you really think it’s news?” Perry looked at him, unamused.
Bill said nothing, simply nodded, and stepped out again.
“What were you saying?” your dad brought his attention back to you.
“I just had an idea…”
So, here you were, sitting across the glass from the infamous Harley Quinn. She sat criss-cross on the ground on her side of the glass and smiled eerily at you.
“I love all the pink,” she told you, motioning to your outfit. You could most commonly be seen wearing pink and/or preppy clothes. Though your father worked for everything your family had, you very much dressed in the old money style mixed with a bit of Mean Girls. You’ve even been compared to Elle Woods.
You smiled back at her, though yours was much less ‘I’m-going-to-kill-you’ and more genuine. “Thank you. Mind if I record?” You showed her your audio recorder.
Harley tightened her pigtails one by one and grinned, “Go for it, kiddo. I gotta say… No one’s ever come here to ask me about my style before.”
As you hit record, you chuckled, “Yeah, and I think that is so unfair. I mean, come on, you even made your jumpsuit look cute. You’ve got to be one of the top three best-dressed criminals.”
After an hour of chatting, the interview turned into a casual conversation. You’d actually gotten to know Harley Quinn and the evolution of her costumes pretty well. And after another hour, you were ready to write up a whole two-pager all about her and her style.
“Thank you so much for the interview. I promise I’ll get you a copy- I’m allowed to do that, right?” you stood, looking back at one of the guards who had escorted you. He gave a simple nod and that was enough.
“Ah! I’m so excited! Thank you for the girl talk. It’s been too long since anyone tried to talk to me like a person,” Harley also stood, walking backward to sit on her bed.
The day you returned to Metropolis was a Sunday. You silently cursed yourself for telling your dad you’d be in the office Monday. Though you didn’t work for him, he did let you take up office space at the Daily Planet and use his software (as well as your own, of course) all for free.
Out of habit, before bed, you looked out your window to see if you could catch a glimpse of Superman. He was a new hero in Metropolis and you, along with most cityfolk, were very eager to see what he could do.
With no sign of him this time around, you decided to start up your skincare. The routine you had was incredible. You knew you had an addiction to buying creams, face masks, and new things to keep yourself looking good, but who cared? Your skin was clear, and your heart was happy.
As soon as you put on the same mask you usually wear to bed, you heard car alarms down below your apartment. Rushing to grab your camera, you raced to your back porch and looked down. You fumbled with the camera, trying your best to capture what you could see. Of course it would fall ten stories down.
“No!” You tried to grab it but it was just out of your reach.
Then, the exact thing you were trying to photograph flew your camera up to you. “Drop something, miss?” he had a kind and very handsome voice. It was deep and confident.
“Suh- Suh- Suh-” You slowly took your camera from his hand while he hovered just above the ground.
“Hi, I’m Superman.”
The next day, you rushed into work eager to tell your father who you met. But when you walked into (more barged into) his office, he had a young man with glasses sitting at the desk.
“Oh, Clark, this is (Y/N), my daughter. Her office is that obnoxiously decorated one next door. (Y/N), this is Clark, my newest reporter.”
As the two of you were introduced, you couldn’t help but feel he seemed familiar to you somehow.
He politely waved at you with an awkward and shy smile, “Hi, there. Good to meet you.” His voice had a sweetness to it, and a midwestern accent. However, he looked at you like he already knew you.

Can we have more Clark Kent x Wayne! Sister reader?
Bruce’s reaction when he finds out? How does he find out?
It's not quite what you asked for, but here's how Alfred found out because somehow that's funnier in my head.
Alfred shouldered the door to your apartment open, bags of groceries in his hands- you may have moved out. You may be perfectly capable of fending for yourself but- Alfred enjoyed doing it for you. He slept better at night if he knew your fridge was stocked and you had things easily accessible for when you'd been awake too long or were simply too tired after a long day in the lab to do much more than shamble about.
What he didn't expect to find was the woman he loved like a daughter, very much naked and very much asleep on her lover's chest on the couch.
And though he didn't want to get closer and find out, he was certain your current paramour was Superman. "Oh dear," he said, setting bags down carefully.
It was unclear if the Kryptonian had already been about to wake up or if Alfred's arrival had awoken him, but when a pair of startlingly blue eyes regarded him, looking sheepish Alfred chuckled as he fumbled to throw a blanket over you even as he turned his back.
"I won't tell if you don't, Mr. Kent," he murmured.
"Alfred you should have called," you tell him, sitting up carefully and pulling your dressing gown on, face burning.
"Apologies," he said sincerely, not turning until you'd gotten yourself covered and Clark had slunk into your bedroom- as much as one can slink using superspeed. "I did not think I'd find you- entertaining this early. Master Bruce was under the impression you were working."
"I was," you answer, face still burning. "Until I wasn't. Clark came and dragged me out of the lab-"
"You were exhausted," Clark said, frowning slightly, "Genius or not you still need sleep-" He emerged from the bedroom and squeezed your shoulders gently as he bent to kiss the top of your head.
"Ah," Alfred said, "So this isn't a 'new' arrangement?" It made sense. You'd been a little less focused as of late. And not home as often... Alfred thought you were just working on something big- Bruce had thought you were cracking under the pressure.
"Alfred-" you start, flustering.
"Please," Alfred snorted, "The number of women I've caught your brother with- At least this was my own fault. I'd just like to know how you intend to keep this-"
"I've managed it from him for like 3 months so far," you snort. "Four more weeks and I win-"
Alfred shook his head, "You won't make it more than two. He's bound to get-"
"You're not going to tell him, are you?" you pout.
"God no," Alfred said shuddering. "Can you imagine the sulking?"

----------
[Daxam after the explosion of Krypton]
Someone woke you up, and you were confused when you saw the fear in the eyes of your maid. "What's happening?" She didn't have the time to reply when you both heard screams and cries. She took your hand and dragged you out of the castle.
"Ms. Y/n, Krypton exploded, and it is falling on Daxam. I need to make sure you can escape." She found a Kryptonian pod and pushed you in.
"No, Abbie, I don't want to leave you." You started to cry, "Come with me, please." You plead, but she shook her head.
"You're the princess of Daxam, miss. You have to go and survive." She hugged you and apologized, "I'm sorry, Y/N." She was crying as well.
"You can't leave me. I need you, and mom, and dad and my brother" she brushed her thumb on your cheek to calm you down, "and I'm only 5, I'll not survive without you. Please Abbie" you plead again.
"I already put data in it; it'll bring you to a planet called Earth," she kissed your forehead before starting the pod. "Don't forget, miss, you're a princess; act like one," she said as she placed her hand on the window, and you reciprocated: "Good luck, miss Y/N."
You were flying into space without saying anything.The journey should have been quick, but your pod collided with an asteroid, sending you to the phantom zone.You are imprisoned for the next 27 years before miraculously escaping.
[Earth, a town near Metropolis]
When you landed on Earth, Clark was already Superman. He found your pod when you lend and helped you, and because of him, you found a new home in this new world. The (y/l/n)s were good parents; they always wanted a new child, so when the Superman asked for their assistance, they couldn't say no.
The first years were difficult, you missed your family and Abbie too. But fortunately, you were glad to have a new big brother who was a jerk but not a Don Juan and a big sister who was always here when you needed her.
After a few years and many late-night conversations with your sister, Jessy, you decide to live a life that makes you proud. Since this moment, you were not the princess of Daxam; you were just Y/n Y/l/n, daughter of James and Kathryn (Y/l/n), and the little sister of Mike and Jessy. It was all you needed, at least before you went to high school. You met her there; she was stunning and beautiful; you couldn't count how many times you were lost in her green eyes, and her black hair, which contrasted nicely with her pale skin, was also quite nice.Her name: Lena Luthor.
After taking some advice from your friends and your siblings, you asked her out, and she accepted. You started dating one month after your first date, and three years later you married her. With her job at Luthor Corp and your job at Daily Planet, you almost have time to spend together, but you decided to have a child, you carried her, and it was the most beautiful thing in your life after Lena.Her name was Lilly; you thought it was a pretty name, and it was the minimum for your pretty princess.
Time flies, Lex has gone insane just after you and Lilly move to National City. Lois found you a job at Catco where you could work less and spend more time with your daughter. Unfortunately, that means you were not here when Lex tied your wife to a chair in his office and threatened to kill you. She was aware of your past and the fact that you were a daxamite, but she didn't mind; all she cared about was the fact that you adored her and Lilly above all else.
[Present]
It's been a while now since Lena came to Central City, and you will not lie; you were pretty glad. Lilly loves you, but she missed her other mom too. Today you decided to have lunch with your wife, and you brought your daughter. It was a little surprise to Lena, but it was a surprise for you when you knocked and opened the door to find an older woman with your wife. She looked familiar, but you couldn't tell where you saw her.
The little girl didn't hesitate and rushed to her mom to greet her with a hug, and the green-eyed woman picked her up. "Hi little princess, I missed you," she cooed, and you smiled at the interaction. She looked at you and seemed to recall something, so she cleared her throat and came to a halt beside you, kissing you and saying, "Rhea, this is my wife, and Lilly is our daughter."She introduced you. "Y/n, this is Rhea. She asked for my help on a new project." She explained, and you nodded.
You offered your hand at Reah, and she shook it. "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Rhea; I hope she'll not bother you too much," you joked, and your wife punched your shoulder. "You know that doesn't hurt me, honey," you said, and Lena rolled her eyes.
"Mommy, I'm hungry." Lilly said.
"Oh, I think it's my clue to leave." The older brunette said,
"No, you can stay and eat with us." You offered.
"Oh no, I don't want to ruin a mother-daughter moment," she said, and she pocked the cheek of the little girl, who giggled,
"You don't ruin anything, Rhea." Lena said this time,
"Don't worry, there is someone who wait for me too," she said before walking to the door. "I'll see you soon, Lena." The three of you waved your hands, and she left.
"I like her," you said. "I just hope this new project will not take all your time."
The CEO kissed your cheek this time "I promise. Now let's go to eat."
~~~~~~
After your first meeting with Rhea, the woman was always here when you visited L-Corp. It was not really bothering, she was pretty good with your daughter, and Luly seems to like her too. You were waiting for your wife that night, and you were reading a bedtime story to your little princess when she said something that caught your attention: "Mama, Mrs. Rhea, look like you." You stopped reading the story and looked at her,
"What do you mean, princess?" you asked softly,
"Yeah, she looks like you, and she looks like Mike too." You frowned your brows; you hadn't met Mike, Kara's new friend, yet. Lilly and Lena liked to say you had some common point with him, but you didn't know him. "Do you think she's from Da-Dax..." She searched for the right word, and it was cute to look at.
"Daxam, baby girl. And I don't know; I almost forgot everything about it. It's been a while you know." She nodded, "Now it's time to sleep, little princess. Tomorrow we will go to the carnival with mommy," you said, and she was so excited.
You left her bedroom when you were sure she was sleeping. You looked at the time and noticed it was late, and Lena didn't reply to your texts or your calls. You thought for a moment before calling Alex. "Hey Alex," you said when she answered the phone,
"Hey Y/n, it's late. Aren't you supposed to sleep?" She worriedly asked.
You groan "You're such a mom." And she laughed "do you know where is Lena? I tried to call her, but she didn't reply, and she didn't reply to my texts. I'm starting to worry." You admitted and you heard her sighed
"Y/N, we have a problem," she said, and you started to worry about your wife "We think she has been trapped and kidnapped by Mike's mom. But don't worry, Kara is on it."
"Where are you?" A wave of rage begins to wash over you.Alex told you where she was, you called Jessy, and she took Lilly with her for the night before you almost flew to where your friends was. When you reached the older Danvers, she was in front of a portal. She told you Kara was on the other side, and you didn't hesitate to run after her.
On the ship, you found Kara, Mike, Rhea, and an angry Superman. "What the hell?" you yelled, and every gaze was on you. "why Clark look like he's in front of a bad guy?" you asked, and the black-haired Kryptonian walked to you before he was stopped by Kara. You looked at Rhea and said, "You. Where is my wife?" You asked
"What Lena is your wife?" Mon-el said, and you focused on him.
"I saw you somewhere," you said, and some flashes from your childhood started to run in your mind. "Mon-el?" you asked, and you tilted your head. "But how? You were supposed to be dead when Krypton fell on Daxam." You were more than confused. He was about to reply when Rhea attacked you with a dagger made of lead. Thanks to your training with Clark, you successfully dodged it and attacked her back.
"Who are you?" the man  asked you.
"I'm Y/n, princess of Daxam," you said, and the room froze at your confession.
"Wait, Y/n like--" your brother wanted to say something, but Rhea cut him off,
"It's impossible," she said."My daughter died, Krypton took me my daughter," she explained, and now everything makes sense—the familiar look, the fact that Lena and Lilly always say you look like both of them.
"Mother?" you asked, and you didn't trust what you said. All this time, you thought you were the only one who survived. "But how should you be dead, both of you?" you asked, as tears streamed down your cheeks. "Wait, if you're both alive, that's mean father and Abbie too." At your sentence, Rhea was hit by a wave of guilt. Mon-El looked at her and didn't say anything.
She shook her head, and you cried harder. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I'm really sorry." She kept repeating it as if it would make you stop, but it didn't. And honestly, neither of them could make you feel better. You wanted to yell at them because they didn't protect Abbie, but an alarm stopped you.
"What is this?" you asked, and a guard ran to where you were before stopping and panting,
"My queen, the humans... They sent lead into the atmosphere." he announced, and the three of you widen your eyes
"What?" You said, but you didn't wait for any response before leaving the ship—thankfully, it was on top of the building. When your feet were definitely on the ground, you started to run. You had to find Lilly; she can't be exposed to the lead. Even if she was half human, she would be affected by the lead.
[North Pole, Fortress of Solitude, a few minutes earlier]
After Lena crossed the portal, Luke closed it. "What are you doing?" the young Luthor asked, but her mom didn't look at her.
"We needed to get away, and we did. Now what happens to them? That's not our problem." Lillian said nonchalantly, "But we have another problem." She said, and her daughter tilted her head with confusion, "ThisRhea sent all her army to conquer us, but we can stop her." Her voice was cold and calm, but she was a little worried, even if she didn't let it show. She is attached to Lilly, and she can't imagine what they could do to her.
"And what are your plan?"Lena asked coldly.
"We know they're weak against lead; it's their kryptonite." She took a little box "Lex had planned to use this to diffuse kryptonite in the atmosphere to kill Superman, but if you change it, it could diffuse lead." She informed her,
"And why would I do that?" The CEO scuffed,
"Because we both know you have a reason who is 4 years old and could be in danger if they found her." Lillian said,
"But my wife is a daxamite too." Lena reminded her,
"Yeah, I know, and I have something that could help her not be affected." She said casually, "So?"
Lena examined her mother and the cyborg beside her "deal."She said it quietly but enough to be heard by her mom, who now had a smile on her face.
Only a few minutes later, your genius wife finished the modification and activated the device.
[National City, present]
You knocked on the door of Jessy's apartment, she opened quickly and inspected you before leading you to her sofa. "What happened to you? Where is Lena?" she asked, afraid of your condition.
"Someone diffuses lead in the—" you coughed, "atmosphere," you finished, coughing.
"Wait who? And why?" Your sister asked,
"I don't know, but I need to contact Lena. Lilly will be affected by the lead, and she's the only one who could help us." You declared, Jess wanted to say something, but her phone rang; it was Lena.
"Lena, where are you?... what? Yeah, she's with me ... Right now? Okay, she's with me too, in my apartment... Yeah see you soon." she hangs on and turned to you "it was Lena she's in her way to come here. She'll be here soon. You should rest. I'll bring you water," she said as she walked to the kitchen.
You walked to Jessy's room and opened the door. You saw Lilly. She was sleeping, but suddenly she started to cough and was now awake. You took her in your arms and made your way back to the living room. Jessy came back and gave you both a glass of water. It's been more than twenty years now since you were on earth, so you knew you could stay a little longer, but you were worried for Lilly. Fortunately, Lena didn't make you wait too long.
You heard a knock on the door, and your big sis opened it. She smiled when she saw Lena, but her smile disappeared when she saw the woman behind her. "Oh Lillian, what a surprise." she said coldly, but let them step inside.
When you saw the familiar green eyes you were relieved and then you saw your mother-in-law, you suppressed a caught "Mother-in-law." you greeted her
"Daughter-in-law" She greeted you back, "You seemed more alive the last time I saw you," she joked, and you chuckled,
"Granny Lillian." Lilly greeted her, and the older Luthor's heart almost dropped when she heard the voice of her granddaughter.
"Hey princess, did you catch a cold?" Lena asked when she noticed her daughter's condition.
"No, someone diffused lead in the atmosphere," you replied, and the youngest Luthor coughed against your chest. "Hey, it's okay, Princess," you ran your hand through her hair. "Mommy is here; she'll find a way to help you." you whispered loudly against her temple.
Lena covered her mouth with her hands. It couldn't be real. Her baby girl shouldn't be affected by the lead, she's human too. Lillian noticed and decided to speak, "We have something that could help her." She informed you.
You didn't have to think too long about it, you understood they couldn't save both of you. "Hey princess, do you want to show the gift uncle Mike gave you to your granny?" You asked softly, and she nodded before getting up and walking to her bedroom. You started to walk to the kitchen and made eye contact with your wife. She got the hint and followed you.
"I'm sorry," she barely said between sobs.
"Hey, darling... *cough*... it's okay. You'll help Lilly, and I'm sure you'll find a solution for me after that." You kissed her forehead gently.
"I was not talking about this," she admitted. You didn't say anything; you just studied her eyes.
"It was you?" You asked her, and she nodded. She was crying harder, and you locked her between your arms. She could hear your heartbeats, but they were so ecstatic she couldn't feel safe, "I know why you did that." You whispered, and you ran a hand through her hair, "I'm not angry or anything, Lena. Just promise me you'll do anything to heal Lilly." She gently drew back and locked her gaze on yours.You only saw sadness and fear in her eyes, and it was killing you.
"I promise. But we have to do something for you." She replied, and you smiled softly.
"It's okay, my queen; I'm sure Superman and Supergirl won't mind if I stay in the fortress for a while." You tried to reassure her, or you. You didn't really know, but you can't let her feel bad for something she couldn't control. "I'm okay, Lena, I promise."
Jessy came in the kitchen, and you looked at her. "Lilly is feeling better now." She informed you, and Lena was relieved. You wanted to rush to your baby girl and take her in your arms, but you fell to the ground.
When you awoke, you were in the fortress. You could feel the lead in your lungs, but the pain slowly went away. You looked around and noticed a floating robot."Good morning, Mrs. Y/l/n-Luthor, I'm Kelex," he said.
"Oh, nice to meet you, Kelex." You looked around. "We are in the fortress, right?" you asked.
"That's right. Supergirl brought you here after you collapsed in your sister's apartment," he explained.
"Oh," was all you could say."Do you know where the others are?" you asked.
"They were back in National City. But you can't see them right now." he said, and you looked confused. "The atmosphere is not totally free of lead. You must stay here, safe," he explained.
"Do you know until when?" you asked, a little saddened by the revelation.
"We don't know, but don't worry, I'll let Mrs. Luthor and Kara know you're awake. They could come to see you during your time here." he said, and you nodded.
"Okay, it'll be fun. At least, I hope," you muttered.
Next of Kin - Bruce Wayne x (f)Pennyworth!Reader
Tumblr media
Words: 8419 Pairing: Bruce Wayne x (f)Pennyworth!Reader Featuring: Lois Lane, Clark Kent, Alfred Pennyworth, random nurses and doctors Warnings: Hospital, hurt, mentions explosions, Gotham Flood, mentions gunshot, swearing, panic attack, yelling, implied smut Rated T for content and swearing. (Nothing is graphic, but there’s a lot of discussion.) Summary: You moved to Metropolis many years ago for school. Now, after graduating and having a successful career, you’re surprised to get a phone call from someone from your past. When you find out it’s about your dad, it’s time to go back to Gotham. Author’s Note: This takes place at the end of The Batman 2022. Alfred is your dad and you’re a year-ish younger than Bruce. This deals with the aftermath of the flood, and since we don’t see much of it in the movie, I had to make up my own explanations; like being transported on rafts. Also, I know Lois and Clark are not in The Batman, but I have them here and I like having them be a part of the story :)
Bruce / Full Masterlist
Bruce watched from outside the room. Alfred was asleep and hooked up to a few machines with a nurse and doctor in the room. A few minutes passed of Bruce silently watching before the doctor came out to talk to him.
She explained that they sedated him to help with his pain, and he would hopefully wake up in a few hours. Finally, she asked, “Is there anyone else we should notify? Next of kin?”
Bruce almost said no, not wanting to have to make the call. But he quickly got over it and said, “I’ll call his daughter.” The doctor nodded at his response and left Bruce alone. He wasn’t sure if she said anything else; he was stuck in his head now about having to call you. Bruce looked at Alfred again, seeing the nurse mess with a few things in his room.
Finally, he took a deep breath and turned to find a seat not too far away from Alfred’s room. Bruce scrolled through his contacts, scrolling quickly to your name and trying his hardest not to hesitate. He had no reason to be nervous, right?
Before he could talk himself out of calling you, he pressed the call button. It only rang for a few seconds before it was answered.
“Hello?” A woman said, but it wasn’t you.
“Uh,” Bruce started. “Who is this?”
The woman paused for a second. “You’re the one who called this phone. Shouldn’t you know who it is?”
Bruce was taken aback by the sudden bluntness. “I know who I called, but your voice isn’t hers,” He said, then asked where you were.
“Ah, she’s in a meeting. Left her phone with me.”
That cleared up almost nothing for Bruce.
“Why did you answer then?” He asked.
He heard a little background noise, which made sense for where you work. “I wasn’t going to, but then I saw that the contact said answer! So I did. Can I take a message?” She asked. He was worried; why were you still at work? It’s late. Who schedules a meeting this late?
“Just tell her Bruce called. It’s urgent,” He said, being blunt like the woman who answered your phone was.
“I will let her know once she’s out of her meeting, Bruce.” The woman said.
“Thanks,” Bruce finished and hung up before the woman could say another word. Looking at your contact photo for only another second, he shoved his phone back into his pocket and walked back to look at Alfred again. One more look before he got back to work.
However, on the other side of that phone call was a pair of reporters confused about the mysterious phone call. “So, the person behind the answer!, money emoji, and black heart emoji is named Bruce?” Clark asked Lois. “What else did he say?”
Lois set your phone down on your desk and turned back to Clark. “Not much. He was confused why she didn’t answer her phone, and he said it was an urgent matter,” Lois said. “Also, who the hell puts contacts in as emojis and a reminder to answer? Are all of her contacts that cryptic?” Lois asked.
Clark laughed at how distraught Lois was over how you had Bruce in as the contact. “Let’s find out,” Clark said, pulled his phone out, and called you. They were both disappointed when his call came up as merely Clark Kent.
“Okay, so either he’s an old friend, and she put his contact when they were in middle school, or it’s intentionally cryptic,” Lois deduced.
“Does it really matter?” Clark asked.
“Yes!” She demanded. “A mysterious man who doesn’t even have a normal contact name calls her, is upset when he doesn’t recognize her voice, then says something is urgent? Plus, calling late at night?” Lois asked. “Is he an informant for stories? Or could he be a secret boyfriend?” She continued. “The possibilities are endless, really, Smallville.”
Clark shook his head and moved to sit back in his chair. “Maybe we should just ask her when the meeting’s over.”
“You’re no fun,” Lois said but gave in and went back to her computer.
A painful ten minutes later, you walked out of the meeting room and back to your desk next to Clark and Lois. When they realized you were done, they stared at you as you walked across the Daily Planet’s floor. It was almost empty, being later than anyone would like to be at work. But work’s work, and you had to talk to Perry about what you were working on since it was being published soon. “What’s that look for, guys?” You asked them.
“Who’s Bruce?” Lois asked, not giving any time for you to sit down.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. “Bruce who?”
“I don’t know; that’s why I’m asking you!” Lois exploded. “He called, and I answered. His contact came up as answer! Followed by a money emoji and a black heart emoji. What does that even mean?”
It took a minute for you to register what Lois said. “Wait, he really called?” You set everything down and picked up your phone, scrolling to the recently called to see that he really did.
“Yeah, and he was mad when you didn’t answer. Who is he?” Lois egged on.
“He’s an old friend from before I moved here,” You quickly explained, eyes fixated on his contact name in the recent calls. “What did he say?”
Lois shrugged, looking at Clark with raised brows. This was obviously a surprise to you, and they were still trying to figure out how to react. “All he said was that it was urgent,” She finished.
“I’ve gotta call him back,” You said, and before they could say anything else, you ran out of the room to the elevators.
Ringing, ringing, ringing. Bruce really called you, huh? Sure, you guys were good friends growing up, but you hadn’t talked to him since you left for college many years ago.
On the fifth ring, Bruce answered by saying your name. “Hey, Bruce,” You replied. “Sorry about earlier; I was in a meeting. And I apologize for Lois answering. What was urgent?”
Bruce decided not to ask why you were still at work but let the question hang for a moment. “Your dad is in the hospital.”
If you didn’t have such a death grip on your phone in anticipation of talking to Bruce, you would have dropped and broken your phone at those six words. “W-what?” You barely asked.
“There was an explosion. Two hours ago. I don’t know if you’ve been seeing what’s going on here, but…” Bruce trailed off. “It was intended for me. Alfred opened the letter before I got home, and it exploded. He’s okay right now, but they had to sedate him. I needed to tell you.”
“He’s at the hospital right now?” You asked; the elevator dinged, and you got off at the lobby.
“Yes.”
“Are you there?”
“No. I got called to business,” Bruce said. “But he’s asleep right now.”
Bruce waited through your silence, letting you comprehend everything. “I’ll be there in three hours,” You said, turning right back around and getting back in the elevator.
“I don’t think that’s wise, I’m sorry,” Bruce said. “It’s not safe right now. There’s a serial killer still running around, and I was supposed to be his next victim. They’re worried he could take another shot at me. It won’t be safe,” Bruce tried his hardest to convince you not to come to Gotham. He wasn’t lying; it wasn’t safe. You just don’t know the extent that he’s involved.
“I don’t care,” You said. “It’s my dad, Bruce. I need to be there,” You told him.
He sighed, easily folding. “Okay. Call me when you get here,” He told you.
“I will. See you in three-ish hours,” You said. You both said goodbye, then ended the call. Just in time, the elevator dinged again, and you walked back into the newsroom floor. Heading right for your desk, you started to shove everything into your bag and throw your jacket on.
“Woah, what happened?” Clark asked, directing Lois’ attention to you, too.
You shook your head, holding back tears and worry. “I’m going to Gotham. Right now.”
“Gotham?” Lois asked. “Why would you want to do that?”
“Bruce just told me my dad’s in the hospital. There was an explosion.” You didn’t explain any further.
Clark and Lois exchanged a worried look. “An explosion?” Clark asked. “I haven’t seen any news about an explosion. Well, besides the one at Wayne Tower-” He said, and you made a noise, almost a laugh, that confirmed his thought. “Oh?”
“Yeah, the Bruce that called is Bruce Wayne, and my dad is his butler. Apparently, someone tried to kill Bruce. My dad opened his letter and got hurt,” You spit out, talking faster than either of them could comprehend. “So I’m going to Gotham to be with my dad.”
“Well, let us know if you need anything. If you want us to come, we’ll be there,” Lois offered a sympathetic smile. “And once your dad is better and you’re back, I’m going to need all the details about Mr. Money and Black Heart Emoji,” She winked.
You appreciated her humor, and it did make you smile a little. It might have been only for a second, but it was nice.
After you left the Daily Planet, Lois turned to Clark with an evil smile on her face. “So, she’s friends with Bruce Wayne. How didn’t we know that?” Lois said.
Clark shook his head in disappointment. “Wow, I can’t believe she had a life before meeting us,” Clark said dramatically.
“I know!” Lois echoed.
Bruce didn’t answer when you got into town. You didn’t think much of it, it was late when he called earlier, and now it’s even later. He probably went to bed.
You drove straight to Gotham Hospital to see if you could see your dad. It was the middle of the night, but hopefully Bruce told them you were coming so you could still see him. It was easy enough to park your car and rush inside, explaining the situation to the nurse. She wasn’t supposed to let you see him, but if you didn’t say anything, she’d let you go back. Obviously, you agreed, and she directed you to your dad’s room.
Down the hall, you looked at different room numbers until you found the right one. Once you did, you bolted into the room and next to your dad. You called for him a few times, but he didn’t respond. Still asleep. Machines beeped around the room, but he seemed okay. As okay as a man with explosion burns and sedation can be, but okay. Once you sat on the chair next to him, you checked your phone to see a missed call from Bruce and a text.
Answer! 💵🖤: Did you make it to Gotham? You: Yes. Just got to the hospital, in my dad’s room. He’s still asleep. Answer! 💵🖤: I’ll be there soon.
You didn’t respond again, but you did think that maybe you should change his contact name. You kept it secret so in case anyone saw your phone, no one would know that it was the Bruce Wayne, but it was a little over-dramatic. Oh well, that didn’t matter right now. You put your phone back in your pocket and just watched your dad, making sure his breathing was okay, and the machines were in order.
You weren’t sure how long you sat there with a blank mind, but you came out of it when the door opened, and Bruce walked in. “Hey,” He said.
“Hey,” You replied, looking away from Alfred for the first time since you put your phone away.
“He’s still out?” He asked.
You didn’t say anything, just nodded, then looked back to your dad. Bruce moved the other chair that was in a corner of the room and sat it next to you. “How was the drive?” Bruce asked.
“I blacked out for most of it, so I guess it was okay,” You told him. You knew Bruce was trying to make small conversation to ease your anxiety about your dad, but you weren’t sure any of it would help.
You saw Bruce nod out of the corner of your eye, still not taking your eyes off Alfred. “How’s work? I noticed you were there late tonight.”
You shrugged. “I like it. And being there late is sometimes how it goes. I’m working on an important story about to be published, and we had to have a last-minute meeting. My friends were waiting for me because we were going to get drinks, but then I came here,” You said.
“The one that answered your phone was interesting,” Bruce said. He was also staring at Alfred, trying his hardest not to make it awkward. But how do you not have awkwardness when you haven’t seen each other in seven years? Sure, you guys exchanged happy birthdays through texts, but Bruce had been traveling up until two years ago, and he’s always busy with work, so you guys were out of touch. Even for holidays you didn’t come back to Gotham, your dad usually came to Metropolis, or you met on vacations.
You stifled a laugh as you thought about how Lois could be. “Yeah, Lois can be a bit intimidating. I think she was more so to you because of the cryptic contact name I have for you.”
“Cryptic?” Bruce asked.
“Yeah, remember, I put you in as not your name before I left in case anyone saw it or stole my phone. I didn’t want your number exposed,” You said.
Again, Bruce nodded. “Right, forgot about that. Do you balance out her intimidating people?” He asked, trying to keep the conversation light and not about what happened to Alfred.
“No, I’m the middle. Clark is the pushover,” You said.
“Clark?”
“Yeah, he’s a farm boy from Kansas. Real soft-spoken but a sweet guy. He balances out Lois,” You flashed a small smile. “The three of us work as a team a lot, plus a photographer. It’s a good team.”
Bruce finally looked away from Alfred to look at you, who was still looking at Alfred. “Well, I’m glad Metropolis has been good to you.”
“It has. I do miss being with dad and hanging out with you, though,” You said. Just as you finished that thought, you noticed your dad’s eyes move, and his body shift. Bruce’s head snapped back over to Alfred once he realized he was waking up.
Alfred’s eyes opened slowly, and you were smiling. When he realized it was you sitting in front of him, a smile grew on his face, too. “Am I dreaming?” He croaked out.
“No, dad, I’m here,” You said.
Alfred relaxed in his smile, then shifted his eyes to Bruce next to you. His smile grew upon seeing that Bruce was there, too. His two favorite people in the world were waiting for him.
Bruce’s expression hadn’t changed since he walked in. “I need to talk with you,” Bruce said.
“He just woke up, Bruce; give him a few minutes,” You tried to stop him.
Weakly, Alfred shook his head. “It’s fine. What do we need to discuss?”
Bruce turned to you again. “Do you mind letting me speak with your dad privately for a few minutes?” He asked.
You shot him a small glare, then stood up. “Fine, but only a few minutes.” You told your dad you’d be right back, then left the room and shut the door. You stood outside but couldn’t hear anything since they were talking quietly. You watched your dad’s smile fade and decided you couldn’t watch anymore and pulled out your phone again. You had a few missed texts from Clark and Lois, so you thought it was best to respond to them.
Lois: Let us know when you make it to Gotham Clark: Safely, please! Lois: You should live life on the edge sometimes, Smallville. Clark: Gotham is a lot different than Metropolis. I just want her to be safe. You: I made it safely a little while ago. I’m at the hospital with my dad and Bruce. Lois: Good!
You felt your phone buzz a few more times, but you had already lost focus and abandoned texting. The conversation between your dad and Bruce looked strange. Alfred looked upset at one point, then went back to being calm, and Bruce’s composure never seemed to change. After a few minutes of just watching them, your dad slowly raised his hand and called you in.
Sitting back in the chair, he reached for both yours and Bruce’s hands. “You two are so important to me; you know that,” Your dad said. You thought he would continue, but Bruce caught his attention when he looked out the window, and his eyes followed. There was a weird light in the sky, something you had never seen before. “You should go,” Alfred said, directed at Bruce.
“Right,” Bruce said, slowly let go of Alfred’s hand and stood up. He looked at you once more before leaving. “Call me if anything changes. I have some more work I have to do,” He explained. You nodded, and Bruce left.
Alfred looked back at you, smiling again. “Dad,” You started. “What is that?” You pointed at the window, the weird bat-shaped light.
“It’s the bat-signal, I think it’s called. It tells the Batman he’s needed,” He explained.
“The bat-signal? The who?” You asked again.
Alfred ticked his tongue. “That’s right; you don’t know about him. There’s a man protecting Gotham, working with the police, who wears a bat-shaped suit. I don’t know how the general public feels about him, the Batman,” Alfred elaborated. “Kind of like Superman, but I don’t believe Batman has any superpowers—just a funny suit,” He said. “The Riddler has been leaving notes for him. That’s how I knew there was an explosive. Inside the envelope was a fireproof bag with to the Batman written on the front.”
“Oh, so-” You went to ask another question, but you were cut off by a nurse coming in.
“I’m glad to see you awake, Mr. Pennyworth. How are you feeling?” She asked, and your dad started answering her questions as she marked things down. You let her do her job, just sitting in your chair and waiting. Again, you were distracted by your phone buzzing.
Lois: Good! Clark: Everything going well? Lois: Did you throw your phone out of the window right after you sent that text? Clark: I’m sure she’s just with her dad, she’ll respond when she can. You: Yes, sorry, I was talking to dad. You: Also did you guys know there's a superman opposite in Gotham? Lois: what is that supposed to mean? You: There’s a man who dresses up as a bat to protect Gotham. But he doesn't have any superpowers and people don't like him. Clark: I’ve heard of him, but I've heard it’s a myth. You: he's not a myth, there was something addressed “to the batman” when my dad opened the exploding letter, so… Lois: Bruce Wayne AND a batman? Wow, you have so much to tell us. Lois: also, how’s your dad? You: he’ll be okay and that's all I care about Lois: and Mr. 💵🖤?
As you read that text, you snapped back to reality as the nurse was speaking to you. “I’m sorry, Miss Pennyworth, but we need to run some tests on your dad, and visitors were supposed to leave a while ago,” The nurse said. “You can return in the morning,” She smiled.
“Oh, okay, just let me say goodbye, and I’ll head out,” You said, sending two more texts to your group chat to keep them satisfied.
You: That’s always a loaded question. You: Brb, the hospital is kicking me out and I gotta say bye to him
The nurse typed some more things on her computer while you said goodbye. “Call me if anything changes, dad,” You told him.
“You worry too much,” He smiled, “But I will. Get a good night’s rest. I’m sure you’re tired after your drive,” He said.
“I will, but, uh-”
“Go to the Tower. Your room is still yours,” He answered your question before you could even ask it. “I’ll be okay.”
You nodded, squeezing his hand once more. “Okay, I’ll be back here bright and early,” You promised. One more goodbye and you gathered your bag and coat and exited the room, then the hospital. Before making the drive to Wayne Tower, you checked your phone again and responded to a few more texts.
Clark: do you have a place to stay? You: Yeah, my dad said my room at wayne tower is still mine so I'm just going there. Lois: Your room at Wayne Tower???? Girl, why have you not done an exclusive on Bruce Wayne? Clark: I assume because of her journalistic integrity, Lois Lois: Lame.
Shaking your head at Lois’ last text, you set the phone down and focused on the road. You were worried about going to the Tower and seeing the aftermath of the explosion, but it seemed mostly cleaned up. You used the key that was still on your keyring to get into the residential entrance and head upstairs. You frightened Dory for only a second before she realized it was just you, and you explained why you were there, even if she put it all together.
She bid you goodnight as you walked to your room, and she went back to her place on the couch, anxious out of her mind. But you couldn’t worry about that now; you were exhausted.
As soon as the hospital allowed visitors, you were there. You’d been at your dad’s beside all day, save for bathroom breaks and when you went to the cafeteria for food. The doctor assured the both of you that he would make a full recovery, and it’s a good thing he realized it was an explosive and threw it to the other side of the room. If he had been holding it when it went off, things could have been much worse.
Throughout the day, your dad told you what had been going on in Gotham for the last week. You had heard a few things here and there about important people murdered, but that wasn’t your story to cover, and you had been so busy you never got to do your own research. Hearing it from your dad was a bit worrying, especially when he told you why Riddler wanted Bruce dead. Hopefully they’ll both be safe, and the police will catch Riddler soon.
That hope was quickly answered, as later that night, Riddler was caught after shooting Carmine Falcone.
Now, it was almost time for the hospital to close visiting hours, but you convinced the nurse to kick you out last so you could watch the new mayor’s speech. She allowed it, warning you that she could only give you maybe an hour. You thanked her and turned up the volume on the shitty hospital TV. News anchors talked as they waited for Bella Reál to give her electoral speech.
The anchors left the screen as the cameras changed to a live view of Gotham Square Garden, and people celebrated. Just as she was about to start her speech, both you and your dad jumped at the loud, strange noises outside.
“Was that an explosion?” He asked.
You stood up and walked over to the window, only to be met with a few subsequent explosions in the distance. “Holy shit!” You shouted and backed away from the window. At the same time, the celebrations on the TV were gone as “BREAKING NEWS” flashed on the screen, and the anchors returned. They started talking about explosions causing the dam wall to lose its integrity and water is coming into the city. They warn everyone to stay inside if they are, and if you’re outside, to get inside. Many people headed to Gotham Square Garden because so many people were already nearby or the water forced them there.
You pulled your phone out and called Bruce. You had no idea where he was, and you were muttering to yourself, hoping he was at Wayne Tower. But he didn’t answer, and that didn’t ease your worry in the slightest.
“Sweetheart,” Alfred caught your attention. “He’s okay, I promise,” He said. “Trust me.”
“How do you know?” You asked while calling Bruce again.
Alfred sighed. “I just do. He said he was…going to bed early tonight. He sent me a message.”
“So he’s at the Tower?”
“Yes, I believe so. He’s okay,” Your dad assured you. You didn’t stop trying to call Bruce; you needed confirmation. The news reports played behind you, now reporting from inside Gotham Square Garden. People piled in, water quickly surrounding them. Suddenly, Bella Reál was shot: some kind of Riddler followers were there, prepared, ready to take people out. You and your dad watched silently, your phone still dialing Bruce, and the Batman showed up.
You gave up on calling Bruce, but that did not stop you from freaking out. Why isn’t he answering? By now, the number of times you’ve called him, he should’ve woken up and answered. But now you’re worried he’s hurt, too.
“Honey, please just trust me. Bruce is okay,” Alfred tried to promise you. “Take a deep breath and relax with me. It will be all right,” He held his hand out for you to walk back to his side. You slowly took your dad’s hand and sat back in your chair. He watched you take slow, deep breaths like he guided and hoped you would actually relax. How Alfred wished he could tell you why he was so certain Bruce was okay…
Solely for your dad’s sanity, you pretended to fully trust him that Bruce is okay. Inside you may be freaking out, but on the outside, you showed that you were calming down.
For now, the two of you sat in silence, watching the chaotic news report that cut out every few minutes. There was no way you were leaving the hospital now, not until everything calmed down and you could possibly even think about how to get back to Wayne Tower, let alone back to Metropolis. So, with nurses running around the hallways, probably preparing for patients from Gotham Square Garden and others hurt by the flood.
As you sat with your dad, you weren’t sure what to say. You wanted to call Bruce again, but had to hold back. You jumped when you felt your phone buzz, hoping it was finally an update from Bruce. Instead, it was just your friends.
Lois: Just saw what happened in Gotham. Are you ok?? Clark: What did I miss? Lois: A bunch of cars exploded and the city is flooding Clark: What??? You: I’m okay. I’m at the hospital with my dad, visiting hours almost finished but now I’m stuck here until it’s safer to leave. Clark: When do we think that is? You: Not sure. Lots of people are stuck in GSG and the new mayor was shot. Batman is there but the live feed keeps cutting out, so not entirely sure what’s going on. You: Also I’m pretending to not freak out because my dad keeps telling me he’s okay but I’ve called Bruce 20 times and he hasn’t answered. I’m so worried he got caught in the flood and got hurt. Lois: I hope he’s okay and just not seeing your calls. I’m so glad you and your dad are safe. Clark: Me too. Don’t leave the hospital if you can’t get back to Wayne Tower safely. You: I know. But I also can’t wait to get there to see if Bruce really is just sleeping and fine.
The conversation died off, both of your friends offering their support. Now with them updated, there was only one person you needed to hear from.
A few hours later, after barely speaking and your dad falling in and out of sleep, his doctor came into the room. “I don’t want to do this to you and your father, Miss Pennyworth, but with how quickly your father is recovering, we are going to discharge him in the morning,” She told you.
“Discharge him? How are we supposed to get back home with the city underwater?” You asked.
“I have received reports that there will be people, the police, helping transport from the hospital to their homes, so no one else gets hurt. Truthfully, your dad just needs rest and to stay on top of his medicines, and he will make a full recovery. I’m sure he will be happy to be back in his own bed to do so,” She tried to make this situation sound as appealing as possible, but you knew the real reason he was being discharged:
Your dad is in recovery, not active treatment. They’ve run tests and received no damaging results, luckily. But with the city flooding, many more people were hurt and needed active attention; you’re sure they just want the room for other patients. It made sense, but it didn’t make you any less worried about your dad and his condition.
“We will continue to monitor him throughout the night, and if nothing changes, he will be discharged in the morning, and GCPD and volunteers will ensure your safe return home. I am fully confident that Mr. Pennyworth will only prove to get better, granted he takes it easy and takes his medicine,” The doctor continued.
“I understand. I’m not going anywhere, so I’ll see you if anything changes or he’s being discharged,” You told her, and she offered a sympathetic smile and a goodnight before walking to another patient’s room.
Great.
You: lol hospital is kicking my dad out because they need room for flood patients. Clark: Is your dad well enough to leave? You: I guess we’ll find out. The doctor seemed confident that he’s got a perfect recovery but I’m still worried. Lois: How the hell are you getting back to Wayne Tower? The city is underwater! You: Not sure, but the doctor said something about GCPD and volunteers helping people to their homes. Lois: Wow. We’ve got you guys in our thoughts!
You didn’t realize it, but “the morning” is only a few more hours away. This night has already felt like an eternity, waiting for any update on the situation, your dad’s health, and still not hearing from Bruce.
Before you knew it, you were being woken up by your dad shaking your shoulder. “What are you doing out of bed?” You asked him when you realized he was standing.
“We’re leaving,” He said.
“It’s not morning yet?” You said, but it came out as a question.
Alfred looked to the window. “It is. The doctor came in and updated me on what she told you earlier, gave me my medicine, and I signed the discharge papers. A nurse also just came and said the people are ready for us to help us get home,” He explained and grabbed your hand to get you out of the chair.
“You already signed the papers? I haven’t even talked to the doctor!” You tried to object this entire situation.
“Honey,” Your dad started, “I talked to her. She says I will recover fine, and I believe her. Plus, I’m sure they need the room for more urgent matters,” He said, starting toward the door with his hand holding yours.
There was no point in arguing with him; what’s done is already done. This also meant that you finally got to find out if Bruce is okay, like your dad keeps demanding.
Outside, there were people wearing brightly colored vests to direct attention. Depending on where in the city you were, there were different water levels. But, for total safety, some kind of rafts were used for the hospital area since the inner part of the city was very much so underwater.
“Where to?” The man asked your dad.
Alfred told him the address. “It’s the Wayne Tower. I’m the butler,” He quickly explained.
The man nodded and reiterated the information to another man and that man to another man. It seemed like most people were headed to the outer city, away from the major flooding, but Wayne Tower was surrounded by water-filled streets, so it caused for more danger and worry about transporting.
“I’ll take them,” A deep voice offered. “Keep taking others to the outer city. I can get them to Wayne Tower safely,” The fucking Batman assured you, your father, and GCPD.
Just a few days ago, you didn’t even know this man existed, and now he was going to escort you to Wayne Tower?
However, no one objected, and instead, you and your dad were helped into the raft. The transport to the Tower was silent as you watched the quiet city, you tried to not let your anxiety build as you got closer to the Tower. You were hoping that Bruce was just asleep (for multiple days?), but what if he wasn’t? What then?
“The main entrance is blocked by the water, so I will help you in through a window,” Batman said as the raft approached Wayne Tower. If by a stroke of luck, the window you and your dad were going to enter was the hallway where the bedrooms are. Once Batman got the window easily open, he helped your dad inside first, then you. When your feet touched the floor, you ran down the hallway to Bruce’s room and threw the door open.
“Dad, he’s not here!” You said, panicked.
Alfred shook his head. “Perhaps he is downstairs?”
“He hasn’t responded to me in days, something’s wrong,” You ignored his idea and walked back to the window, making close eye contact with Batman. “I know you’re busy, but please, I need to know that Bruce Wayne is okay and safe.”
“He is.”
“How do you know?” You asked, your voice getting louder, worrying that he was lying. How would Batman know?
Batman turned his head to the side. “Miss Pennyworth, I just need you to trust me; he’s okay and safe,” Batman said.
You groaned loudly and threw your hands in the air, clearly frustrated. “How am I supposed to trust you? I don’t know you! How do you know Bruce is okay? He’s not here, but he doesn’t leave the Tower! Ever!” You shouted. “Where would he be? If he left, I’m worried he got caught in the flood!”
“Darling,” Your dad caught your attention. “I’m sure Batman has many important things to do-”
“Yeah! Like find a missing person!” You said. Slowly, Alfred walked closer to you and grabbed your arm, but you didn’t let him get in a word. You tried to walk toward the window again, but your dad had a tough grip on your arm to hold you back. You took a deep breath to calm yourself, but it didn’t work. “I haven’t heard from him in over a day, not even a text! I need you to find him, I need him to be okay!”
Batman’s masked face stayed the same blank expression. “He is okay.”
“Stop telling me that!” You shouted, this time almost breaking away from your dad’s grip, but he was still holding you. “You continuing to insist it only makes me believe the opposite!”
Your dad tried calming you down, putting his other hand on your other arm and turning you to look at him, but you wouldn’t hear it. Finally, Batman said your first name, loud enough to stop your rampage. It shocked you to hear him say your name, which helped in silencing you. Your head turned to the window when he said your name, and you watched when he entered the Tower, shut the window behind himself, and then shut the curtains.
Slowly, Batman looked down, and his hands went up to his face. He grabbed the edge of his mask and lifted it off, you staring in awe. Once the mask was almost fully off, he looked up at you. “I promise, I’m okay,” He—Bruce—said. “Just really busy.”
Your shoulders relaxed, and your dad let go. “Oh,” was all you could croak out.
“Sorry I didn’t answer. I left my phone here,” He said. “I didn’t know you were so worried.”
“Well, yeah!” You expressed, a big sigh following. “I want to say this makes a lot of sense, but I’m gonna need some time to process.”
Bruce cracked the smallest smile and looked to Alfred, who gave him one nod in response. “Okay, you process. I’m going to go help some more people. I will definitely be back tonight, and we can talk about whatever you want,” He said.
“Just be safe,” You advised, and Bruce nodded and exited through the window again after putting his mask back on. Once he was far enough away, you turned around quickly. “He’s Batman?” You asked your dad, voice slightly raised. Again, Alfred only nodded. “If you had told me that, it would have saved me a lot of worrying!”
This time, your dad laughed. “I don’t know about that. I think you would have only worried more.”
You rolled your eyes, not giving him the satisfaction of telling him he was right. After you got him into bed and filled up some water, you felt you could finally relax for the first time since arriving in Gotham. Though, you would be checking on your dad every few hours to make sure everything was okay.
Sitting down on your bed, you checked your phone again.
Clark: Please keep us updated, we’ve been worrying sick about you guys Lois: Yes, please do! You: Dad and I made it back to Wayne Tower. The Batman actually escorted us. Lois: WHAT Clark: So he’s really not a myth then? You: Nah, not a myth. Just kinda weird. Lois: Huh, a man in a bat suit with no superpowers is kinda weird? Never would’ve guessed. Lois: How’s 💵🖤? You: He’s fine, he lost his phone. Lois: Oh, good. Glad he’s okay! Clark: Also, you need to call Perry. We told him your current situation, and he wants you to do a story on your first-hand experience since everyone else is just reporting from afar. You: I hope he likes my review of Gotham Hospital’s food.
You called Perry shortly after Clark told you to, and you apologized to him that you weren’t sure when you’d be able to get back to Metropolis because of the flood. He had to understand because there was nothing you could do until there was a safe way out of Gotham. However, he was going to use this opportunity of having one of his reporters literally in the middle of the mess going on in Gotham.
You told him you’d write an article, but it would be focused on the flood. You weren’t comfortable discussing the Riddler’s victims, especially since you didn’t get to Gotham until that was already passed. He was fine with that, mostly worried about getting flood coverage, which you would do.
Between checking on your dad every few hours and trying to write this article, time passed faster than you realized. Before you knew it, the sun was set, and you were starving. Luckily, the kitchen is always stocked, so you could make something for you and your dad to eat, even if he didn’t have much of an appetite.
He ate in bed, and you stayed in the kitchen to eat for easier cleanup. As you scrolled through your phone, replying to Lois and Clark’s random, much less worried, texts, you jumped when you saw Bruce out of the corner of your eye.
“Oh, hey, you scared me,” You watched him approach where you were sitting.
“Didn’t mean to, sorry,” Bruce apologized. “How’s Alfred?”
You shrugged. “He’s resting. I gave him dinner, but I don’t think he’ll eat much of it,” You explained. “Speaking of, I made enough for you; it’s over on the counter,” You gestured toward it. “I figured you’d be hungry after such a long day.”
“I’m not so sure,” Bruce sighed, and instead of going to get the food, he sat across from you. “It’s bad out there.”
“I don’t doubt that, unfortunately. Gotham is already bad enough, now with most of the city underwater...” You trailed off.
“I’m worried about the parts that aren’t flooded, and we can’t get to. Crime will be worse there, and who’s to say what will happen after all the water is gone? Someone’s going to try to claim the area,” Bruce said. “Even I can’t get over to those areas to try to prevent it. It was hard enough to get back here without being spotted.”
You set your fork down and looked into Bruce’s eyes. “Why did you become Batman?”
Bruce didn’t say anything at first, surprised by the question. He coughed, giving himself a few seconds to regain his thoughts. “Uh, a few reasons. My parents, crime in the city,” He said, giving a half-assed answer, but it was good enough for you. “Just the right thing to do.”
“You really had me worried, Bruce,” You said. “I was killing myself over the fact that you weren’t responding to me. I thought you got seriously hurt.”
“I had no idea you were,” He replied. “If I knew, I would have gone about things differently.”
You raised your eyebrows. “You would have told me if you knew I was worried?”
“I don’t know. I only told you because you were nearly having a panic attack, and I couldn’t explain how I knew Bruce Wayne was okay, so the easiest way was to show you,” Bruce explained. “If I knew ahead of time you’d be so worried, I would have at least come up with a better cover story,” He joked slightly, allowing a small smile to crack.
“Yeah, that probably would’ve helped. My dad just kept insisting you were asleep, which didn’t make sense to me. But he was so adamant!” You complained.
You noticed Bruce’s smile fall as he looked serious again. “It’s been so long since you’ve been here that I didn’t think you would care at all.”
“Why wouldn’t I care? I know I’ve been in Metropolis for years, but you’ve always been my friend. Of course, I care!” You said.
Bruce shrugged. “Like I said, it’s been so long. You haven’t been back to Gotham since you left for school. Then you got a career, some good friends, a boyfriend-”
“Boyfriend? Who’s my boyfriend?” You cut him off.
He stared at you for a second, clearly confused. “I thought the guy on your team was your boyfriend.”
“Clark?” You laughed. “No, he’s great, but I have no clue where you got that from,” You said. “He’s in love with Lois, but Lois is in love with Superman.”
“So, he’s not…?” Bruce asked carefully.
“He’s not. What made you think that?” You asked, but Bruce didn’t answer fast enough for your satisfaction. “You just jumped to a conclusion, huh?”
Bruce shook his head in disappointment at himself. “I guess so,” He said. But he totally, totally, did. He heard you talk about that guy once and made a connection that wasn’t even there.
“Were you upset that you thought I had a boyfriend?” You smirked.
“What?”
“Was there even the smallest chance that you were jealous of my boyfriend from Metropolis?” You asked, your smirk still there as you teased Bruce.
Bruce furrowed his face. “Jealous?”
Your smirk turned into a soft smile. “I’m just messing with you, Bruce.”
He nodded, and the conversation died off. You had finished your dinner, so the two of you were sitting there in silence. Bruce was stuck in his head again, trying to deduce if he was jealous. Was he? Was he jealous of this man he thought was your boyfriend? Or was he jealous of your life and how different it is from his? He didn’t know what he was jealous over, but he quickly discovered he was jealous about something.
He might hide himself and his emotions from most of the world, but he grew up with you. If there was one person he was comfortable sharing his emotions with, it was you.
Bruce took a deep breath as he looked at his hands fiddling on the table. “I think I was.”
“Think you were…about what?” You asked, not a clue what he was referencing.
“Jealous,” He repeated. “I think I was jealous. Of the guy.”
You were still confused. He was answering your questions, but the context was not there. “The guy? Clark?”
“Yeah. When I thought he was your boyfriend,” Bruce admitted.
“Oh?” You asked. “You were jealous of my not-boyfriend?” You asked, and you were now putting things together. “How come?”
Bruce huffed when he realized that you were catching on. “Are you going to make me spell it out?”
“Spell what out?” You continued playing dumb.
Now completely sure you were teasing him, Bruce rolled his eyes and stood up. You were still sitting in your chair and watched as Bruce walked around the small table. He stopped when he was right beside you and you turned your body to look up at him, the teasing look still on your face. “Hey,” You said, innocent, as you kept looking up at him standing over you.
“Hey,” He repeated and swiftly put his hand gently under your chin, leaning in and giving you a kiss. It was short and sweet, and he released quickly. Bruce may have pulled back, but he was only a few inches away. “There, does that spell it out?” He asked, now teasing you.
Your teasing look turned into a fuller smile, and you reached up to pull him back in for another kiss. This kiss lasted longer, and without breaking apart, you stood up out of the chair to get closer. Your hands wrapped around each other, and the kiss continued much longer than either of you expected; almost like you’d both been waiting seven years for this.
When you finally released for air, you replied to his question. “I think it spells it out,” You said breathlessly.
This time, Bruce didn’t have anything to reply with besides pulling you back to him. It was definitely something both of you had been waiting for for over seven years, so now was the perfect excuse to make up for lost time. Stuck in Gotham, in a secluded Tower surrounded by water? Yes, making up for lost time seemed like the only option as you two moved from the kitchen and down the hall.
You: Bruce thought Clark was my boyfriend. Clark: ?????? Clark: I’ve never even talked to this guy, where did that come from? You: I told him about my job and mentioned you guys, and he jumped to conclusions. Lois: So, how did you find out that he thought that? He asked? You: yeah he asked Lois: and? You: I told him no. You: Completely unrelated, it’s a good thing Gotham and Metropolis are only 3 hours apart. Clark: What are you implying there You: idk You: Also unrelated, he’s a good kisser Lois: YOU LEAVE METROPOLIS FOR THREE DAYS AND YOU’RE KISSING BRUCE WAYNE????? You: I have no idea what you’re talking about. Lois: WELLLLL GOOD MORNING HUH Lois: I cannot wait to hear all about Mr. 💵🖤 Lois: Does this mean I can meet him? Will he give me an exclusive? Clark: I thought I told you the reason she hasn’t done an exclusive with him is because of her journalistic integrity. Lois: Yeah, HERS! Not mine! I can do an exclusive on Mr. 💵🖤 kissing our girl!
You laughed at the texts, trying your hardest not to be loud. You knew telling them would make for a big reaction from Lois, but it was more than you expected. Holding back your laughs only made her texts funnier, especially because you could hear her voice in your head saying them as you read.
“What’s going on?”
You looked to your side to see that Bruce was awake. “Oh, nothing. I was texting with Clark and Lois, and they made me laugh, sorry.”
“It’s okay,” He grumbled and sat up a little to fluff his pillow. “What time is it?”
“Eight.”
Bruce groaned and fell back into his pillow. “Why are you awake so early?”
“I had some important emails to answer. Oh, also, Lois wants to know if you’d give her an exclusive,” You smiled, trying not to laugh again.
He looked at you, no expression on his face. “No,” He said. “I’m going back to sleep until my alarm goes off,” He said and promptly shut his eyes.
“Goodnight,” You shook your head and went back to your phone.
You: He says no. Lois: I’ll break him down. Clark: I don’t know if you should let Lois meet Bruce. You: I think I agree, Clark. Lois: One day he’ll visit Metropolis. Lois: He’ll visit you at the Daily Planet. Lois: And that’s when I’ll strike. Lois: I WILL get that exclusive from the elusive, mysterious Mr. Bruce “💵🖤” Wayne.
You laughed again at Lois’s texts, unable to hold back this time.
“Shhhhhh,” Bruce pleaded, and you quickly apologized. “Put the phone down and go back to sleep,” He mumbled, not even opening his eyes.
You: Good luck with that, Lois. You: But I’ve got to go. I keep laughing and I woke up Bruce. He told me to go back to sleep. Lois: oops Lois: WAIT Lois: HUH? Lois: ARE YOU IN THE SAME BED??? You: talk later! Clark: Bye! Lois: OH I CAN’T WAIT TILL YOU’RE BACK, YOU CAN’T ESCAPE ME THEN!
With one more laugh, Bruce’s eyes opened. “I’m begging you,” He reached to push the phone out of your hands, but missed as you were already moving it back to the nightstand.
“I just told them I’d talk later. We can go back to sleep,” You said and adjusted to lay back down fully. “But not for too long.”
Bruce smiled slightly when you faced him, finally ready to go back to sleep.
Oh, this was totally worth the wait.
AGFC pt.5
Tumblr media
A/n: Last chapter for now. I'm happy with this kind of conclusion. I've been feeling a bit down lately with my writing. like... insecure about it. I have all these W.I.Ps and Ideas but I don't think I got that oomph that I had when I started this blog ya know. If Im going to continue this series then it'll probably follow Young Justice season 3. Maybe Y/n will make an appearance in season 2 with Kaldure ya know. Anyway! Enjoy, let me know what you think :) Stay hydrated! Drink water plz
Y/n knew Jason was dead. It didn’t matter how fast her father was on his batmobile. She did the math, he won’t get there in time. Y/n sat in an isolated room, no different from the one Clark had put her in all those years ago. Except this time she was in the bat cave. She scratched at her inhibitor collar as she reflected on all the memories that Megan had stolen from her. No wonder Lex was after her, she was talented. Her fighting style was unmatched. With the right pressure points her opponent can lose control of their arm. A simple tap on a nerve and they’re out of the fight. Suddenly the door opened revealing Alfred holding on to a tray of cookies. A dry laugh escaped the girl before she turned her body to face away from the butler.
“Lady Y/n-”
“Bruce will be mad at you if you’re here. He might disown you Alfie.”
Alfred closed his eyes. It pained him to see her like this. He placed the tray down and took a seat behind her. She felt his presence, but more importantly she felt a slight draft coming into her cell.
“I’ll speak to Bruce about this. Y/n understand that you are an amazing girl. Capable of so much good in the world.”
Now y/n felt tears swell her eyes “I’m a weapon Alfred. Do you think someone dressed like this saves people? Ha! And what of that Martian girl. She gets a slap on the wrist for messing with our memories.”
Alfred was about to say something but The sound of Tim’s voice echoed in the cave.
“Bruce said not to talk to her till he got back.”
That finally set her off. Y/n closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She was going to save Jason. Then she’ll run away. Forget this family. Forget everyone!
Y/n quickly stood and Jammed two fingers along Alfred’s shoulders stunning the man. She then applied pressure to other parts of his back and arms successfully subduing him. Alfred fell to the floor as numbness seeped throughout his body. he looked back in shock as Y/n grabbed a cookie that had fallen and fled the cell. But she wasn’t in the clear yet. She needed to get the inhibitor color off. Tim took a stance infront of where the key cards were held.
“You’re not getting pass me Y/n”
Tim didn’t expect her to move so fast. He was able to block and evade some of her moves but as soon as she applied pressure on his calves he fell over.
“Pressure points works wonders when your facing an opponent bigger than you Timmy.” Y/n successfully knocked the teen out. She reached for the keycard and removed the collor. In an instant her powers returned.
“Don’t miss y/n please.”
Y/n flew to the door, looking down at the only man who showed up to all her events. Who fed her, to took care of her with all his heart. “I’m sorry Alfred. Goodbye.”
***
Y/n couldn’t believe she actually made it. Her flight was slow but by pushing her feet against the air using her strength she was able to speed as fast as she ever could. It created a popping sound with every step, greatly satisfying her.  Y/n broke into the safe house. Jason layed limp on the floor, y/n heard the sound of ticking. She frantically looked for the bomb.
“N-no time” Jason gasped for air, he didn’t know who was there to save him but he’s sure glad they’re here.
Y/n seemingly ignored his cry and continued searching. She was good at disarming bombes. Y/n confidently pulled out the bomb and clipped the right wire successfully stopping the threat. The girl laughed, she did it. She saved her brother. Y/n flew to Jason and grabbed under his arms. “Sorry Jay. I don’t know how to carry you properly. But I disarmed the bomb so we’re good.”
Y/n felt Jason’s body relax slightly as she dragged him out the door. It was then that she heard another beeping sound. Then another. Panicked she followed them to the walls of the shed. There were more. Was the bomb a trap?
Tick
Tok
Tik tik tok tik
“Y/n? What’s wrong.” Jason attempted to sit up but his broken bones sent pain throughout his body.”
“No. This wasn’t suppose to happen I. There’s more bombs. I can’t disarm them all. I… what.”
Y/n felt dizzy as the flush of sounds overwhelmed her again. Seemingly from every angle in the world. Jason crawled towards his younger sister. He accepted his fate but she gave him hope. Here he was thinking he was a failure. The motion happened so quick y/n cradled herself into a ball again pressing her ears together. She felt Jason enveloping her in a hug. “I got ya kid.”
*Boom*
~~~
~~
~
Y/n fluttered her eyes open. Snow fell from the sky. A mixture of white with black soot fell atop her nose.
Thump-thump
She heard the sound of a drum. When she tried to get up she noticed an arm over her.
Thump…. Thump.
No. It wasn’t a drum it was a heartbeat. Y/n frantically got to her knees to look down at her Brother. His mask and costume ripped. She herself felt pain along the side on her body. But no injury could amount to what she was facing.
“No… no no Jason no hang on. I’ll get help. I’ll find dad. I- I can still-“
Thump
Thump
“You- so cool-“ Jason attempted to smile. There was nothing she could do. It pained him to leave her like this. Y/n placed both of her hands on her face. Then to his chest. She can hear every pop and crackle from his broken bones.
Thump
…..
“Jay…. Speak to me. Please.”
Y/n didn’t scream. She was tired of that. Jason probably wouldn’t want that. She hugged her brother as the sobs grew louder. This wasn’t suppose to happen. She was suppose to prove to everyone that she was capable of being a hero. How could she explain this to Bruce? What would Connor think?
“What have you done?”
The dark knights deep voice made y/n freeze. She looked up, she felt tiny when looking at her armored father “He… protected me. I tried to save him I… I tried to-“
“What you did is got him KILLED Y/n!”
Y/n flinched. He never raised his voice like this.
Bruce realized his mistake. He walked towards them but Y/n frantically shuffled back. Just like she did Clark.
“You think I killed him? Ha…hahaha”
0 hours till Y/n Wayne Broke.
Y/n pressed her hands over her eyes “where were you! WHERE ARE YOU WHEN WE NEED YOU.” She looked up to see Bruce walking away with Jason. Not looking back at her at all “You never show up. And when you do YOUR LATE.”
Bruce turned to see y/n roll frantically on the grounds. Her laughter and pained screams haunted him.
“We’re just your solders. That’s why Dick left.” Y/n felt a different kind of pressure well up in her eyes. She looked to the sky and saw red.
Bruce watched as y/n shot lasers out of her eyes. He closed his eyes
“I’m sorry” he whispered. Bruce left with Jason, his priorities shifting.
Y/n heard him but she didn’t care. For a being who hears everything, that comment fell on deaf ears. For the first time she was alone. Was she free? She didn’t know. Y/n closed her eyes. She rose from the ground like a ghost and flew to the only person who’d maybe treat her fine.
***
Lex finished his nightly skin care routine. Feeling refreshed and ready for the day. What he didn’t expect was to find Y/n floating behind him. He let out a squeal before realizing it was the clone. Her eyes shut. Outfit ripped and burned. Blood dripping from her side as impailed glass seemingly pulsaded from her.
“You said I was a weapon they feared.” She said in a low tone.
She was broken. Lex smiled, he didn’t think it would work that fast. What must’ve happened to have this girl seek comfort from him of all people. Lex opened his arm.
“Come child. Together we can show them.”
Y/n slowly flew into his arms. No tears left to shed. Drifting off to sleep.
Epilogue
Bruce returned to the cave with Jason in his arms. His shoulders felt heavy, he’d failed his children like never before. Alfred quickly ran to his side but no words were exchanged. Bruce looked up at the butler, the pain in his eyes was severe.
The sound of the zeta tube chimed. Connor practically ran through with Tim close behind.
“I tried to stop him but-“
Both boys saw Jason. Connor noticed the lack of his sister.
“Where is she? What happened?”
Tim began shaking his head as he fell to the ground. Impossible she’s half Kryptonian. Alfred frowned aswell.
Connor clenched his fists “BRUCE! Where is my sister.” He too had time to reflect on his stolen memories, and he felt stupid. How didn’t he know she did something to them.
“I’m sorry… she’s gone.”
Alfred covered his mouth. Guilt began to sink in.
“N-no… no.” Connor fell to his knees.
On that day, Two members of the bat family were declared dead.
