 Anyway, the basic plot is that Superman succumbed to mind control (or is under the influence of kryptonite, magic, etc. it's not that important) and Batman is trying to take him down after he's already wreaked a good part of the city. Unfortunately, he doesn't snap out of it in time but when he catches a glimpse of Bruce's face, he remembers a wonderful night they had together at a Wayne gala. 

 This doesn't really fit in any of the canon timelines but I did take inspiration from the newer Justice League, Batman, and Superman animated movies for their costumes!

Bruce scowled at the monitor in front of him, tapping idly at the edge of the desk. These pieces weren't coming together. It wasn't right.

"Did that monitor piss you off, Bruce?"

Bruce sighed, turning to look behind him at Clark, who had, unsurprisingly, let himself in to the cave.

"No. This case."

Clark hummed softly, walking over. He put a hand on the back of Bruce's seat, leaning down to pick up his teacup and sip from him.

"Hnng," Bruce grumbled, eyes tracking his hand as it slid back into view to put the cup down.

"What are you working on anyway?"

Clark's hand slid from the back of the chair onto Bruce's shoulder.

"Some financial files aren't adding up for a suspect. He's having more expenses then income, and yet isn't in debt."

"So he's getting cash from somewhere."

"Yes, but what."

Clark opened his mouth but Bruce ignored him and kept talking.

"Why are you here?"

"Jason called me, actually."

Bruce's eyebrow shot up, and he sat back in his seat, turning to face Clark.

"Did he now?"

"Yup. Wanted help on a homework assignment."

"Why didn't he ask me?"

"Said something about the broody bat being too consumed with work. . . That and he thought a reporter might be more helpful with a research paper then a billionaire Playboy."

Bruce scoffed. Clark still had his hand on the back of the chair, but since they were facing each other, this meant Clark was practically leaning over him.

"Am I a Playboy?" He inquired, eyebrow raising again.

"No. Not really. But you like to pretend to be. Something about a cover?" Clark asked, leaning in closer to press a kiss to Bruce's forehead.

Bruce grunted.

"I gotta get upstairs, I just wanted to stop and say hi first."

"Are you going to be spending the night then?"

"Geesh, I dunno, I have work in the morning."

Bruce liked to think he kept his face neutral, just kept his eyebrow raised and tilted his head slightly, blinking up at Clark.

"Dang, you don't gotta pout," Clark laughed. "I guess I can stay, but don't expect me to be here when you wake up."

"I wasn't pouting."

Clark just laughed again, bending to kiss Bruce softly. Bruce just titled his face up into it, but otherwise made no attempt to reciprocate. Clark pulled away and shook his head softly.

"Ah, I forgot. Batman doesn't do emotions."

He was grinning slightly, but it didn't reach his eyes. He started to straighten, but Bruce snapped his hand out quickly and snagged Clark's belt, holding him in place. Now it was Clark's turn to raise an eyebrow.

"Clark. . ."

"Yes dear?"

Dear, darling, babe, sugar, honey, boo, and other various petnames Clark had for him.

"Don't be dramatic," Bruce huffed out, reaching up to hook his fingers in the collar of Clark's shirt and pull the man down for another kiss.

"Pot, meet Kettle," Clark murmured softly, just barely loud enough for Bruce to hear before they were kissing again.

He may have bit Clark's lip in retaliation.

"I'm gonna go help Jason now. Be safe. Call if you need anything."

Clark gave him one last quick kiss before pulling away. Bruce watched him turn and walk away, to the stairs up into the mansion. He just shook his head fondly and turned back to glaring at his monitor.

Surprisingly, Jason never joined him that night.

He didn't call back to the cave to question it, figured the boy was doing school, which was good. He was too far behind.

Bruce himself didn't get back until well after 1am, and even then that was just because he had to go to work tomorrow as well.

He spent a few minutes logging a few reports into the computer before stripping and showering, and then heading up to the mansion. Alfred was waiting with a hot meal, so he ate, sitting in the kitchen and staring at the floor.

"Clark?"

"I believe he is in your room, reading," Alfred explained, cleaning up dishes.

"Jason?"

"Already asleep. Poor lad was exhausted from all the studying he and Mister Clark did."

Bruce grunted acknowledgement, finishing his food and passing the plate over.

"Good night, Alfred."

"Good night, Master Bruce. Sleep well."

Bruce turned and trudged his way upstairs. He was exhausted and his body ached. But sure enough, when he pushed the door open, he found one Clark Kent sat in bed, reading a book that he had likely stolen from the downstairs library.

"Oh, the mighty hero returns."

Bruce grunted out a greeting, shutting the door behind him. He started undressing as he walked, stripping down to his boxers and crawling into bed beside Clark, laying on his side with his back to him.

"Long night?"

Bruce just grunted again.

Clark chuckled at him, setting the book down and then flicking off the light. He slipped an arm around Bruce and pressed into his back, chin on his shoulder.

"No good night kiss?"

"No."

"Harsh."

Bruce smirked lightly, opening his eyes and looking up to find Clark Kent's stupid face grinning at him.

"Fine. One good night kiss."

One good night kiss turned into two, and then three, and then pushed past kissing.

"I see why you wanted me to spend the night now," Clark teased, later, pulling Bruce up against him once more.

Bruce just let him, too exhausted to be anything more then deadweight in Clark's arms. Not that it bothered Clark any.

"Shut up, Smallville."

Clark laughed softly in Bruce's ear, nuzzling at his neck.

"Good night, Bruce."

"Good night, Clark. Make sure Jason wakes up in time?"

Clark hummed an affirmative, then dropped his head to the pillow, falling asleep stupidly quick. Bruce just sighed and settled in against his boyfriends chest, hoping sleep would come for him that easily.
