The Kaiser-Jeep Corporation, synonymous with four-wheel drive, had to compete not only against the Scout from International Harvester in 1966, but also had to fight back the new Ford Bronco, which was poaching in its territory. Thus, in January 1967, the Jeepster Commando saw the light of day. The models of 1968 to 1971 had little new to offer. But already in February 1970 it had been a change of ownership. It came to the Corporation with the American Motors Corporation. AMC had to wait until 1972 before the not so bad front-end redesign was visible in the showrooms. This one we saw in Switzerland this year appears to be an early AMC intermediate model.
