i've started a little series of weekly posts documenting every MoC i made (digitally) over the last few years:

Week 10: 2023

for the galaxy explorer, Some GWP ideas, the bricklink designer program,my gripes with an ideas set, being abandoned, some potted blocks, classic defender mini and a bit more Rock Raiders stuff

this is the last week.

i got the 10497 galaxy explorer as a christmas present in 2022 and i wanted to make a base for it. this is of course based on the printed baseplate that was included in the original 928 (or 497) galaxy explorer in 1979. its build atop a 50x50 baseplate.

my first idea of a possible GWP inspired by the trend of GWPs being remakes of older sets, like 40567 forest hideout, 40580 blacktron cruiser, 40601 majisto's magical workshop and 40581 tahu and takua was this MoC.

I chose 7708 Uplink from Exo-Force to base my GWP MoC on even though 7701 Grand titan was my first Exo-Force set (and the first one i got from shop@home), because it's a smaller set and thus more suited as a GWP (also i think that joker hair looks better in purple and would be more fitting as a modern version of the Exo-force rubber hairpieces for Ryo and less for takeshi imho)

the original Tumblr App-icon. but in lego.

i made this to be my current Phone background. the grey greebles are my lockscreen and the Ace flag is my homescreen, so that unlocking my phone imbues the background with colour.

this is my First MoC i posted on Tumblr at the same time i posted it on reddit.

i love 21340 tales from the space age, but i had a few gripes with the added fourth art piece and i felt the need to analyse why exactly i thought it wasn't as good as the others and how i would try to fix it.

Bricklink opened their designer Program to the public with series 1 in that year and i wanted to add something based on one of my favourite MoC ideas i ever had. the abandoned factory i posted back in week 2. i hd the idea of an old, abandoned industrial building that you could give walls using your (probably huge) collection of brick seperators. i cannot remember if i posted it anywhere or not. and why i didn't if i didn't.

yipieeee! it's Tbh, the autism creature. my first MoC iv'e only posted to tumblr.

oh god, this one. someone asked me to build them a MoC based on a house they wanted to buy on zillo. i made it for them, took a bit longer than i thought it would and even though i've been pretty transparent about this, they ghosted me.

oh well.

cheesy brick studios made a Video where he made some minecraft Potted plants inspired by 10329 tiny plants.

this then inspired me to make some bigger versions of (almost) all minecraft potted plants.

40650 creator land rover classic defender released that year and i wanted to make it look more like it's Icons counterpart (10317).

i think it looks nice. even though it is not on par with the 8 wide speed champions sets....

some More Rock raiders!!! this time in the style of another possible GWP, so no neon green or orange, sadly, because those colours were discontinued just as i finished building this MoC.

an who are these little guys?, you might ask. well they're also Rock Raiders MoCs, based on the a little one person Mining transport that i cannot find the reference i used. and i cannot remember what they're called.

this is it. the final week. i have no idea what to do to continue with my MoCs, maybe something yearly? making at least óne MoC every week? i dont know. but i know i'll make a master post sometime later this week where i'll link every one of these Ten weeks.

Packing was the easiest part of moving. It wasn’t like Quackity had a whole lot anyway, and he could assume Tilín didn’t either. Gegg was a different story with a room already made full of love for her. It was a temporary stay anyway, assuming Gegg would be fine with the idea of going between he and Bad

Everything was ready. Bags were set, clothes packed (there’s a black trenchcoat sleeve dangling out, staring at him from his suitcase), everything was ready. Everything but Quackity.

There was a nagging as he stood in the middle of the room Bad let him stay in. It hasn't changed from the day he started to stay in it. There had been urges a few times just to add a touch of something. Not that it was permanent, most of his homes were just planks with little decor. It never needed to be more when it would be gone by the next month. Maybe it would be a disaster, a classic petty dispute, or an explosion, either way, it would be gone.

As he stood in the middle of the room he felt wrong. There was excitement towards the idea of living with his best friends Charlie and Mariana, Luzu eventually if the other can prove to him ghoul was staying, why wouldn’t there be excitement? Lingering was the thought that perhaps the Quackity was different.

Last time they hung out they were the same duo Quackity remembered them to be. The only one out of place was him. Every so often there was a chill that ran down his spine, shivering with skin cold as a rock, every action he took was paired with an underlying fear that he would disappear all at once.

They both knew him but maybe not as well as they thought.

Quackity barely knew himself. Faces that blend together but don’t make him up. Who is he this time? Nothing but a cold washed up duck.

He should tell Bad he was going to go. Bad. The one who offered him a place first, who helped him crack his shell and get out of the Federation, and the one who took care of their shared kid in his absence.

The only one who fully knew what the hell was up with Quackity. It’s almost embarrassing how Bad has seen Quackity cry and worse by Bad letting him cry on them. At least when he cried around Charlie and Mariana they weren’t there to see it. Chayanne was the only one. Sadly.

On the bed was his communicator. Cracked but with a whole new lockscreen from the time Tilín and Gegg met. He should message Charlie. The fear of confronting Charlie later stopped him.

Quackity looked at the walls. What did Quackity want to paint them before? Maybe as a joke he would paint them. A parting gift.

Out of his trance Quackity grabbed his bags and put them in the closet just so they were out of the way. Of course. Once again he stood in the middle of the room thinking about what he could paint it. As a joke. (It helped cloud away his thinking. Running from things always felt familiar.)

A week. Painting would give him a week. A week to try and fix himself up and find out what his problem was. All he had to do was figure it out.

But first where could he find paint?

I’VE SAID THIS BEFORE but he has a letterboxd where he reviews every movie in terms of how realistic/plausible the science in it is. he has a lot of followers because people think its a bit. it is not

he’s watched the mandalorian 284784th times.. its his comfort show. whenever he’s stressed he goes home and puts it on

he’s allergic to fur but that doesn’t stop him from longingly gazing at animals through pet shop windows

doesn’t like eating out. he’ll absolutely do it for a date, but by himself? nah. he’s a genius, he can cook up those recipes 100% better than any chef can, and he knows it.

not that he does tho. he lives off of sandwiches and protein bars

he loves capybaras. if he had a tiktok his fyp would be science vids, robotics & capybaras

his music taste is mostly classical (canon) but i also think he’d enjoy classic rock. i think he found a love for it after he formed a band with adam and marcus.

he does have a few pop guilty pleasures though. will never admit it.

he is absolutely a hopeless romantic. doesn’t want to admit it, but he is whipped for whoever he’s with. all of their dates must be perfectly planned and over the top romantic. i’m talking lady and the tramping some spaghetti over candlelight.

he’s definitely done a lot of astronomy themed dates! stargazing, going to those light show auditoriums, etc.

total cuddle bug. before he got with his s/o he spent most of his downtime in the lab. but now, most of his free time is spent under the covers with them, clinging to them like a koala, grunting grumpily whenever they try to maneuver themselves out of bed

i think his love languages are words of affirmation, physical touch & gift giving all combined. he thrives off of praise, loves hearing confirmation that they love him. he loves spending all of his free time cuddling them, even just holding their hand in public spaces is enough to make him dizzy. but, i also think he’d love giving them gifts, especially ones he’s made in the lab himself. it’s little tokens of his appreciation.

his lockscreen, computer desktop and twitter banner are absolutely all pictures of his s/o

tbh he probably carries around a photo of them in his wallet

i think he has trouble verbally asking for physical affection, but not at all asking for it physically. making grabby hands until they hug him. putting his entire body weight on them when they’re lying on the couch. slouching his body onto theirs while they’re making a snack in the kitchen. forcing his face into the palm of their hand.

etc etc!! i could literally talk about chase for hours. he’s my princess <3

My aforementioned multitasking! at the dining hall was undertaken as a distraction from a tsunami of sad that came crashing down as I stood in line to order food. While you claim it is within my character to do so, I find myself alarmed by the amount of stimulation I must seek out to dispel my negative thoughts. The high generated from each trip to jim is immediately followed by a low of insufficient interesting activity, accompanied by a classic cry! at the dorm desk. In the six days since September 4th, there have been tears departing my eyes in 8 different hours. What the fuck?

The most recent such instance, post-push-day-and-subsequent-unwise-shoppers-and-dollarama-run-during-which-i-carried-so-much-shit-you-don’t-even-know, though brief, was followed by a moment of reflection as I glanced at myself in my mirror designed for those much taller than myself. As I studied my reflection, tears now long dried and my face returned to its usual stellar state, I was nearly brought to tears once again (which would have been disastrous, mind you, as the time flashed by my lockscreen now began with a 5 as opposed to a 4) by the realization that the marks you had left on me were nearly invisible. Like your intentionally shedded hairs, slowly being blown into the hallway by my upright fan (as opposed to a stan or a casual fan, duh), the traces of you, of your presence in Toronto, the capital city of Ontario (isn’t that WILD?!), are gradually fading.

I miss your skin.

These words, written on a note slipped subtly into the pocket of fictional, bisexual but in denial 70s rock star Ryan Ross, by fictional, openly gay and slutty 70s rock band roadie Brendon Urie in Vol. 2 (Wolves vs. Hearts), chapter 13, of beggarsnotes' iconic tripartite (plus extras) pre-split Panic! at the Disco fanfiction The Heart Rate of a Mouse, may apply here, but they, like most historical perspectives on psychology, are not an adequate representation of the comprehensive nature of the subject in question. Perhaps the exorbitant amount of time we spent together immediately prior to our geographical separation may be to blame, but nevertheless, I miss more of you than simply your skin. I miss the smell of your hair as you lay on my chest and restrict my ability to breathe (as my lungs, already limited in capacity, lay screaming in protest). I miss the absolutely absurd expression with which you look up at me with your head between my legs (like a permanent megamind meme). I miss being nibbled on like a fucking chew toy, leaving various parts of my body to spend the next days aching in disapproval. I miss more, probably, but I am sick of writing and I want to watch Gilmore Girls.
