this took waaaay too long for being a silly riff on a mega-obscure support chain, but here we are. also, hi! I'm alive!
(I'll probably cave and post this to Twitter and Reddit eventually but part of my extended hiatus has been the mental exhaustion watching those two websites get run into the ground by their executives and wondering if I should just jump ship altogether... I mean, I don't have to tell y'all twice LOL)

Disney really failed to make sure Frollo has no appealing traits the moment they casted Tony Jay to voice him.
I mean, you expect me not to swoon over that voice?! That beautiful barritone?! The deep devine vocals?!

Bathing together … something so tender and intimate. Dimiclaude taking turns washing each other’s hair, laying together in the warm water and relaxing from the tiring week, talking about everything and nothing or simply enjoying the silent company.
The first time they did it and Claude offered to wash his hair, Dimitri most probably cried a little and ended up falling asleep with Claude playing at his hair. And for Claude, it feels nice, to be bare and exposed to someone (both physically and mentally)— something he has never allowed himself, something he couldn’t afford when he constantly had to be on guard since childhood. It’s a very soul-healing activity for the both of them, and they always look forward to it at the end of their week.

OTD in Music History: Legendary French composer, pianist, and music critic Claude Debussy (1862 - 1918) looks on as his first great orchestral masterpiece -- "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" -- receives its world premiere in Paris in 1894. Today, Debussy's "Afternoon of a Faun" is widely hailed as a turning point in the evolution of Western music.
As Debussy himself later explained:
"This music is a very free illustration of [Stephane] Mallarme's [1842 - 1898] beautiful poem [of the same name]. By no means does it claim to be a synthesis of that poem, however; rather, there is a succession of scenes through which pass the desires and dreams of the faun in the heat of the afternoon... until, tired of pursuing the timorous flight of nymphs and naiads, he succumbs to intoxicating sleep in which he can finally realize his dreams of possession in Universal Nature..."
Mallarme himself was actually philosophically opposed to the idea that one of his poems might be used as the basis for a musical composition. He was bowled over by the world premiere performance of "Afternoon of a Faun" (which he attended at Debussy's invitation), however, and he hastened to congratulate Debussy in a letter:
"I have just come out of the concert, deeply moved. A marvel! Your illustration of the 'Afternoon of a Faun' presents no dissonance with my text, but rather goes much further, really, into nostalgia and into light… with finesse, with sensuality, with richness… I press your hand admiringly."
PICTURED: A portrait photograph of Debussy (c. 1900), along with a beautiful autograph letter, written in September 1905 on decorative hotel letterhead, in which Debussy sent his publisher corrections to the draft parts of one of his other great orchestral masterpieces: "La Mer" ("The Sea").
"La Mer" received its world premiere in Paris just a few weeks after this letter was written.
