Hola, soy Jared y bienvenido de nuevo edición del este blog. En el mundo del hoy, es obvio que el cambio climático es una crisis que empeora cada día. El cambio climático provoca temperaturas mucho más altas que pueden provocar sequías devastadoras y otros fenómenos naturales. Debido a esto, también debería ser obvio que para abordar la preservación del medio ambiente, también hay que trabajar para resolver el cambio climático.

El cambio climático es causado principalmente por un exceso de gases de efecto invernadero en nuestra atmósfera. En América Latina, uno de los principales emisores de gases de efecto invernadero es el transporte.

Los países latinoamericanos han tratado de resolver este problema mejorando sus sistemas de transporte porque permiten que las personas que usarían automóviles tomen un autobús o un tren, lo que obviamente es mucho mejor para el medio ambiente. Las ciudades como Guayaquil y Medellín (en Ecuador y Colombia respectivamente) también compraron cada una 50 autobuses eléctricos en 2019 para hacer que sus flotas sean más eficientes energéticamente. Sin embargo, el líder en sistemas de tránsito "limpios para el entorno" es Santiago de Chile.

Santiago es el primero en latinoamericano en la lucha contra el cambio climático y planea tener autobuses totalmente eléctricos para el ano 2030. Luchar contra el cambio climático también es bueno para las economías de estos países, ya que será mucho más probable que los turistas visiten entornos limpios y seguros que entornos que no son afectados por el cambio climático. Estos lugares incluyen muchos mencionados en el blog de Luke y Rishabh, como el volcán misti en Arequipa y los parques nacionales en Costa Rica. ¡Hola a todos! En mis dos últimas publicaciones de blog hablé sobre los problemas ambientales que afectan a América del Sur. En mi última entrada de blog del semestre hablaré sobre las formas en que personas y organizaciones en América del Sur han intentado combatir algunos de estos problemas.

Por ejemplo, en un intento de luchar contra la deforestación en Sudamérica, los países han establecido y ampliado parques nacionales, reservas de vida silvestre y áreas protegidas. También han fortalecido las leyes y regulaciones ambientales para detener la tala ilegal y la deforestación ilegal. Esto implica mejorar el seguimiento, el patrullaje y las consecuencias de las sanciones por infringir estas normas.

Esos fueron ejemplos de cómo el gobierno ha tratado de detener estos problemas ambientales, pero también hay formas en que la gente común y corriente puede ayudar. Por ejemplo, con el problema de la contaminación que destruye los arrecifes de coral en América Latina, que hablé en mi entrada anterior del blog, puedes ayudar de muchas maneras. Puede reducir el uso de plástico, ya que representan una gran amenaza para el medio ambiente marino. Cuando viaje o visite zonas costeras con arrecifes de coral, elija recorridos que sigan prácticas sostenibles y ecológicas. Otra forma de ayudar es participar en grupos comunitarios locales que se centran en ayudar a la conservación marina. En Latinoamérica existen muchos grupos de limpieza de playas como "CleanUpTheWorld" que viaja por todo el país con voluntarios para ayudar a limpiar el mundo.

Creo que la publicación de nuestro blog tenía muchas similitudes con la publicación del blog de Luke y Rishabh. Esto se debe a que en la publicación de su blog hablaron mucho sobre los maravillosos destinos turísticos de América Latina y en la publicación de nuestro blog hablamos de cómo a veces el turismo conduce a problemas ambientales. Por ejemplo, en la publicación de su blog mencionaron la Reserva Paisajística Nor Yauyos-Cochas, que es una de las formas en que Perú ha tratado de luchar contra la expansión del turismo que conduce a la deforestación.
