SIMBLR PSA: Stop putting story posts, cas screenshots, dollhouse builds, room builds, build screesnhots, renders, and etc. in #ts4cc tag!!!
Tumblr media
Many of you aren't even using CC in your builds or screenshots, so why would you tag them as CC?
As a general rule of thumb: if it isn't actual, downloadable custom content and it also doesn't link to CC, it shouldn't be in the CC tag. People use the #ts4cc tag to "shop" for custom content: and story posts/screenshots of your sims or builds don't belong there, even if your sim happens to be wearing CC or the build you're showing off has CC in it. Posts unrelated to downloadable, linked custom content will clog the tag and make finding the actual downloadable content more challenging, and this will ultimately lead to people blocking you so that your posts don't show up when they're trying to shop for cc. Trust me, you're not going to receive more likes or engagement by purposely misusing a tag.
Some possibly applicable tag alternatives:
#simblr
#ts4
#sims 4
#the sims 4
#ts4 gameplay
#ts4 legacy
#ts4 story
#ts4 legacy challenge (Only if you are doing a legacy challenge obviously. You can also use a tag associated with your specific legacy challenge that was likely provided by the OG creator.)
#sims 4
#ts4 screenshots
#ts4 cas
#ts4 build
#show us your sims
#the sims community
I'm sure there are even more alternatives, but these are the popular ones that I see used most often. Remember, if it isn't downloadable cc, it should not be in the cc tag. There are new people here on simblr every day, so I assume many new blogs might not know this and that's why the #ts4cc tag is filled with a mess of unrelated content. Tumblr's tagging system already sucks - please do not make it worse! Hope this is helpful to someone!

One of the only times I bothered to make something digital. I work exclusively on a phone so it's a pain in the everything arm related. This is my second Rainworld OC (the first being Kipper, a Rivulet based Scug). I adore this goof and now you can as well. Also, that lore is *slightly* outdated cuz world building is going well. Don't disregard it though because if you care, you'll remember this for later. :>

👀 the sign in my building's trash room says that recycling is emptied twice a week but the bin has been full since we moved in and today somebody COMPLETELY clogged the trash chute with recyclables. it had the air of rage-filled premeditation.

I thought your comment comparing COVID to the AIDS crisis was very interesting.
I lived through the AIDS crisis. It happened during and right after I graduated from nursing school. And of course, I wound up getting ME/CFS.
Something important to realize: people with HIV were and are far less disabled than people with Long COVID or ME/CFS. Especially these days, when essentially HIV disease is a controllable chronic illness. Back then, it was usually only the last year of illness that really laid people out. So they could form a huge and very militant movement, especially when people who were HIV positive but not yet having symptoms were the majority of AIDS activists.
People with Long COVID and ME/CFS are nowhere near able to do what the old AIDS activists did. Also, in the developed world, AIDS was primarily a disease of men, whereas 80% of people with ME/CFS and probably 60 -70% of people with Long COVID are women. Complaining of just those problems like exhaustion and pain that are most likely to be dismissed by physicians.
Any movement building around Long COVID has to take this into account.
(Previous post that was referred to in the ask here: [Link] )
Hi! First of all, thank you for responding to my post, thinking it had any merit, and for your perspective. (Also, thank you for whatever work you were able to do to help people as a nurse during the crisis; truly invaluable.) I feel like I won't be able to compose a very coherent response, but I'll try!!!
That's. Really scary!!!!!! To hear that some aspects at least of the current pandemic are worse or more of a challenge than the AIDS crisis!!! I hadn't considered before the difference in ability of post-infection before. I know not everyone post-covid has obvious symptoms and problems right away, but the propaganda has been really effective and makes them think that there isn't a problem at all. (I've heard before that during the AIDS crisis there were people who would think that because their initial HIV infection was mild they were in the clear, so that makes me wonder if it was to the same extent, or what ended up happening there.) I guess maybe for a movement to happen, more people who aren't already sick have to care, which is difficult because of the propaganda and attitudes in society around individualism. I think one positive thing is that I've heard stories that suggest there is a certain percentage of people who do care once they learn that covid is both A. as much still here as it was before, and B. dangerous in ways they didn't even know about (though they should also care about the more commonly known danger to already disabled people), they're just so ignorant and in the dark due to the government and media covering it up. Maybe grassroots information campaigns would be a good place to start, make some posters to put up or something. I could probably make some posters...
I hadn't heard that gender statistic about long covid before. It's always seemed to me like a lot of medical statistics that have to do with internal experiences like pain and fatigue are weighted more towards women vs men, which I always wondered if it was due to society liking to tell men not to admit to any 'weaknesses', and research about long covid isn't as robust as it should be, but who knows maybe that is just the case for some reason. If that is true I can see what you mean about it being an obstacle for anyone perceived as a woman's pain to be taken seriously, and also people of colour, since covid disproportionally affects people of colour due to class structure reasons. Though also, during the AIDS crisis when it was gay and trans people, a lot of doctors didn't even want to touch them or be in the same room as them.
Anyways! Thank you again very much for what you had to say, I think it's very valuable. I'll tag this post so that maybe some other people who would be interested in reading it can see it. Hope you have a good evening/morning/day!
