Clonetober #27 Clone Medics and Low Supplies part 11

In part 10 of this story, Kix went to the Medical Bay to sleep on the Medical Clone Brothers new beds because the baby kept kicking all night. After he left the room, THOSE 4 (Fives, Hardcase, Anakin, and Wrecker) found Kix & Jesse’s Ultrasound picture where they accidentally ripped it. Jesse threw Anakin’s lightsaber as THOSE 4 left their room. When Kix returned to his room, he showed Jesse that he has a flat disc chip that had a video of their baby’s first Ultrasound (I forgot that they also had their second Ultrasound on a different flat disc chip.). Kix and Jesse found out that there was a small camera in their room so they decided to sleep in the Medical Bay that night.

After they had a goodnight sleep in the Medical Clone Brothers’ Staffroom, they decided to go back to their room so they can plan on how they wanted to do their gender reveal. When they got to their room, Kix didn’t want to go in. He was afraid that there would be MORE hidden cameras in their room that he let go of Jesse’s hand. As Kix was slowly letting go of Jesse’s hand, Jesse turned around to see his loving Husband Kix shaking and that he was now starting to panic.

Jesse: (walks over to Kix) What’s wrong Dear? Are you cold? Do you need something to eat? Do you feel sick?

Kix: N….N….No. I….I….

Jesse: Wait. Are you scared that there will be more hidden cameras in our room?

Kix started to cry as he nodded his head.

Jesse: Oh Kix. (gives Kix a hug and starts rubbing the back of Kix’s head) Shhh…. It’s OK. I’m going to Cody and Rex so they can see if there’s any more hidden cameras. OK?

Kix nods as he wipes his tears away so he could look at Jesse’s eyes.

Jesse: OK. (pressed a button on his com) Rex? Cody? This is Jesse. Can you guys meet us at our room please?

Cody: This is Cody. Is everything alright?

Jesse: Not sure.

Cody: What do you mean not sure?

Jesse: (sigh) I’ll tell you guys when you guys get here. Oh. I almost forgot…Nevermind. Over and Out.

After Jesse talked to Cody & Rex on his com, Jesse knowest that Kix wasn’t standing next to him. As he looked around to see Kix sitting on the floor, his back against the wall while holding his knees. When Jesse saw Kix sitting on the floor, he knelt down to comfort him.

After 5 minutes went by, Rex & Cody finally arrived. Jesse stood up and told them what THOSE 4 did to their room. He also told them about what happened to their first baby’s Ultrasound pictures. When Cody heard about what THOSE 4 did, he was furious. Rex on the other hand was outraged, livid, pissed, and disgusted on how THOSE 4 invaded Kix & Jesse’s privacy and what happened to their first baby’s Ultrasound picture. The reason why Rex was more furious than Cody is because is already a father and that Cody is going to be a father soon.

Anyway, as Rex was leaving to find THOSE 4 idiots, Jesse immediately dropped to the floor as he put both of his hands on Kix’s stomach.

Rex: When I find THOSE…

Jesse: (yells) REX!!

Rex: (turns around) What?!?!

Jesse: (says in a calm voice while still having his hands on Kix’s stomach) If you’re going to swear, can you PLEASE do it somewhere else. I don’t want our baby to hear any swear words.

Rex: Uhh…(looks at Kix who is still sitting on the floor while Jesse still has his hands on Kix’s stomach) Oh? OHH…Yes. Sorry. (bends down and puts his left hand on top of Kix’s right hand and says in a calm voice) Kix. (Kix looks up at Rex) I’m so sorry for THOSE 4 for invading your guys’ privacy, especially for you Kix. When I find THOSE 4, I’m going to have a LONG talk with them and make sure that THEY apologize to you guys properly. OK?

Kix: (nods his head) Y…Ye…Yes! Th…Than…Thanks Sir!

Rex: (pats Kix’s right knee then puts his hand on Kix’s shoulder, patted it then shaked it) Alright.

After Rex said that, Rex stood up to go find THOSE 4 and yell at them (especially including some swear words) so they wouldn’t do the same thing to others. Once Rex was up, he made a call on his com. Rex made a call to their 3 ARC Clone Trooper Brothers Blitz, Colt, and Havoc to find THOSE 4 and have them stay in the ARC’s Barracks until Rex & Cody arrived. Rex then reaches out his hand to help Kix stand up. Kix looks at Jesse as if he’s asking for permission. The reason why Kix looked at Jesse to ask for permission (without saying anything) is because his HORMONES finally kicked in. What perfect timing right. NOT!

Anyways…Jesse gives Kix a smile and nods his head as he slowly releases his hands off Kix’s stomach. Once Jesse let go, Kix turned to look at Rex. Kix reached out his hand so Rex could pull him up. Once Kix was off the floor, Cody noticed something.

Cody: Uhh…Kix?

Kix: (turns towards Cody) Umm….Yes?

Cody: Are you feeling OK?

Kix: Yeah. I’m feeling better now and it’s all thanks to guys for helping.

Cody: OK…But are you sure?

Kix nodded but Cody still didn’t believe that Kix was OK.

Jesse: Cody…Kix said that he’s fine. Why do you keep on asking if he’s OK?

Without saying anything, Cody pointed his finger down at Kix. When Kix looked down to see what Cody was pointing at, he was shocked that he jerked his head up as he started to blush with embarrassment. When Jesse saw it, he put both his hands on Kix’s shoulders as he kept looking up & down at Kix. He did this 5 TIMES before saying anything.

Jesse: Are you….?

Kix shook his head before Jesse could finish his sentence.

Jesse: Wait….(looks around and then whispers to Kix) Did you…?

Kix nervously chuckles before Jesse could finish his sentence again. Yep. Kix pissed his pants. I forgot to mention that Kix was wearing a new pair of well… “WAS” a new pair of purple hospital scrubs before he pissed them that is. He wore them because they felt comfortable since his chestplate kept jabbing into his pregnant stomach. Also, he felt undignified and embarrassed if he walked around in his blacks in front of his Clone Brothers, Shaaki Ti, and his loving Husband Jesse.

Anyway…Once Jesse, Cody, and Rex “SAW” what just happened, Jesse ran into their room and grabbed the big comforter off their bed, Rex stood in front of Kix until Jesse came back, and Cody commed Coric to come down to do a physical examination on Kix and to get R2-D2 or any droid down here to scan Jesse & Kix’s room for any more cameras. Cody also asked Coric to get a new pair of scrubs and no questions asking why. After he finished the call, Jesse came running back with the big comforter. He checked it front and back to see if there were any hidden cameras on it before wrapping it around Kix.

5 minutes later, Coric came to help but he was not alone. He brought along R2-D2, Medical Backpack, a scanner, and Xavier who was not only holding a new Grass Green Scrubs but also a Purple Dots 1 piece Hospital Gown. When Kix saw that, he glared at Cody. Cody booked it after Kix glared at him as he left Rex under the AT-TE (the saying “Leaving someone under the bus”) so Rex had to explain to Coric and unfortunately Xavier what happened. Especially when he told them that Kix pissed his pants. When they heard this, Coric had an unfazed look but Xavier just broke out in a laughing fit because Coric has been reading pregnancy and labor (if he has to help Kix deliver Kix & Jesse’s baby) books on his Holopad. He’s been doing this ever since Kix told Coric that he’s pregnant with Jesse’s baby. Coric has also been taking classes at one of the Hospitals on Coruscant on how to deliver a baby and what things you will need when you’re delivering a baby. The Doctors and Nurses kept on asking him if he would like to deliver someone’s baby but Coric didn’t want to deliver someone’s else's baby. He kept saying this to them when someone at the Hospital would ask him if he would like to. “Sorry but no. I would like to deliver one of my Brothers’ baby.” Everytime he would say that, the Doctors and Nurses would respect his wishes.

Coric has been talking to himself that he hopes that he might/will be the one who will physically deliver Kix’s baby and not the Midwife Droid. Coric has been daydreaming of being the one who helps Kix with the delivery but he respects Kix & Jesse especially Kix wishes on how they want their baby to be born. Even if Coric can’t be the one to help Kix deliver the baby, Kix & Jesse asked Coric to be there to help the Midwife Droid with cleaning the baby after it’s born and Kix too, supervise through the labor to make sure everything is going OK, and to help Jesse on coaching Kix during labor. Coric was very happy and honored to help them when they told him at their 3rd month Ultrasound check up.

Anyway…After Xavier finished his laughing fit, Coric opened the door so R2-D2 could find more hidden cameras. They were shocked when they found 7 hidden cameras that R2-D2 found. 6 of the 7 hidden cameras were in their room and the 7 one was in the bathroom. The hidden camera that R2-D2 found was hiding behind a shampoo and a conditioner bottle which was weird because both Kix & Jesse didn’t have hair on top of their heads. Both of them didn’t really think about it. They just thought that either one of them bought it for their baby girl. Luckly, the “hidden” camera was hidden REALLY good behind the bottles that the camera didn’t have a chance to record anything. Plus, the camera wasn’t waterproof. Thank the (whatever you believe in) that nothing was caught on the camera.

After they found all the hidden cameras, everyone except Kix who was crying on Jesse’s neck and still wrapped up in the blanket were furious at what THOSE 4 (Fives, Hardcase, Anakin, and Wrecker) did.

Xavier: I can’t believe that THOSE….

Rex & Coric & Jesse: (yells) XAVIER!!!

Xavier: (jumps) Wh….What? (looks around) All I was going to say was that I can’t believe that THOSE….

Rex: Kid?!?!

Xavier: (turns to look at Rex with a trembling voice) Y….Ye….Yes….S…Si….Sir?!?!

Rex: (sighs) If you're going to swear, (voice gets intense) I suggest that you do it somewhere else and not here.

Xavier: Uhh…(sees Rex motioning his head and eyes towards Kix & Jesse) Oh….Sorry Kix. Sorry Jesse. (sighs) I’ll be right back. (starts to walk away)

Rex: (yells) Xavier! Where are you going Kid?

Xavier didn’t turn around and kept on walking. Rex started to walk to catch up with him but Coric stopped him when he put his hand on Rex’s shoulder.

Coric: Let him go Rex.

Rex: What?!

Coric: (sighs) When Xavier gets like that, he needs to calm down. He usually swears when he’s mad. It’s a good thing that we were able to stop him before he could unleash his frustration.

Jesse: (coughs) Sorry to interrupt your conversation but I need to help Kix get clean so you can give him his physical examination.

Rex: (nods his head) Of course. I’ll be back with THOSE 4 so they can give you guys their EXTREME sincerely apologies. Let me know when you guys are ready for Cody, me, and THOSE 4 to come. It might be a couple of hours until we see you guys again. That should give you plenty of time to finish Kix’s physical examination, to calm down, and hopefully be able to get a good nap since what just happened to you guys. Especially for you Kix.

Kix nodded his head into Jesse’s neck. He looked like a Loth-Cat or a Tooka who was rubbing its neck on its owners’ neck as a way to show affection toward them. Boy! Is Kix’s HORMONES weird or what?!?!

Rex: Alright. Do you have 2 bags I can have? One for 6 hidden cameras and the other one for the 7 one that was found in the shower/bath tub. I don’t want the wet one to get the other hidden cameras ruined. Just in case something was recorded of THOSE 4 setting up the hidden cameras.

Coric: Alright. (opened his backpack and helped Rex put the hidden cameras in the bags then handed it back to Rex) There you go. When you see THOSE 4, please give them my EXTREMELY SINCERELY GREETINGS for what they did to Kix. I give you permission to swear at them.

Jesse: Same thing for me please but double….No. Triple the swear words.

Everyone except Kix laughed.

Rex: (with a smile on) Alright. I’ll make sure that they hear the things you said to me to them.

Jesse: Thank you Sir. (gives a smile to Rex then kisses Kix’s forehead) It’s going to be OK Dear. Rex, Cody, and our ARC Clone Trooper Brothers take care of everything that THOSE 4 did. OK?

Kix nods his head as he is still clinging onto Jesse but now has his head on Jesse’s chest.

Jesse: (smiles at Kix while still rubbing Kix’s back) Is there anything you want to tell Rex on what you want to say about THOSE 4?

Kix nods.

Jesse: (smiles at Kix while still rubbing Kix’s back) OK. What do you want to tell THOSE 4?

Kix: (crying) Tel…Tell the…them th…tha…that (started to hyperventilate) I…I’m s…sor…sorry for so…so m…ma….many pe…peo…people yel….yelling at them f…fo…for what th…the…they d…di…did p…pl…plea…PLEASE! (cries)

Jesse: (went from smiling to confused) Uhh…

Kix: (feels the baby kicking his stomach) A…Al…Als…Also, PL…PLEASE tell them that th…the Baby s…(cries) sa…SAYS the sa…sam…SAME thing p…pl…plea…PLEASE. Th…Tha…THANK… yo…yo…YOU! (cries)

Rex: (smiles and chuckles) You got it. I’ll make sure that they hear all your guys' voices. (looks down at R2-D2) Now I don’t want you to say anything in front of Kix just in case he thinks that you’re saying any swear words. Especially (air quotes) “the baby.” OK?

R2 moves his head then rolls away. As R2 rolls away, Rex tells them that he will be back with the others to apologize. Rex then grabs the 2 bags that have the hidden cameras off the floor, grabs it in one hand, and then runs to catch up with R2. Man can that little guy zoom.

Clonetober Round-Up!

All my Clonetober2021 drawings together! Thank you @clonetober for organizing this event! I had a ton of fun and I’m so proud of myself for drawing so much despite being really busy for almost all of October. I even did a few things that were outside of my comfort zone (looking at you, Rex with the foreshortening and Kix with that particular angled profile xD). You can find the bigger versions of these on my clonetober2021 tag or my art tag.

I hope I can color some of my favorites soon! (I think I need the Order 66 Pizzas one as a sticker, ngl.) Which ones would you want to see colored?

Family holo for their first Halloween! You know that Plo is the parent that every kid wants to trick-or-treat with. He dresses up with the Pack but doesn’t embarrass them in front of their friends, and if someone (naming no names, but Comet) gets scared, he’ll be real subtle about holding hands.

I really wasn’t sure I’d finish this one before Halloween, never mind in time for day 26 of Clonetober (the prompt is “Wolfpack”), but I had a rainy day and a strong desire to just sit and colour something. And this one...she’s got a lot of colours 😂 There’s a non-holo version under the cut if you want to see them in all their saturated glory.

Clonetober #31 Remembrance and Rescue

Don’t worry. I’m still working on #27. I just thought you guys might want to read this while you wait for of the story. Please enjoy!

Since some of you know that Echo (sorry for those who don’t know) but Echo is ALIVE! He survived (most of his body) but has a new look. For those who don’t know what he looks like now, just think of Cyborg from Teen Titans, only less robot. Anyway, as I thought that if Echo survived, maybe the Domino Squad is STILL ALIVE since they were stationed on Rishi Moon.

Everything was peaceful after Chancellor Palpatine was arrested (in my stories) and the Clones could have a family of their own until Echo and The Bad Batch (with Omega and Crosshair) got a message from the Rishi Moon. The Bad Batch thought that the signal was from a different planet but Echo knew that voice. That was Droidbait. Echo begged the Bad Batch to go there to see if he was still alive. They told him that it was years ago but decided to go anyway. Echo and Omega gave Hunter the sad puppy eyes which made it work. They were going to the Rishi Moon NOW.

Echo was so excited that he told Rex and Cody that they got a message from Droidbait on Rishi Moon. Echo told them that he could survive, then his Domino Brothers could too. Rex and Cody decided to go with them (on a bigger ship to fit everyone) to see if Echo was telling the truth.

As they were traveling through space, Echo couldn’t stop talking about the amazing adventures that he had with his Domino Brothers. He told Omega and some of the others (mostly Omega who wanted to learn more of her new Big Brother Echo) on how they got their names and that they almost didn’t pass their training. He told Omega that Fives and Cutup were always pranksters, Droidbait got shot almost all the time when they were training, and Hevy was like the Alpha Dog of their Squad.

Echo started crying as he told Omega and the others about his Brothers. He missed those times with them. All those memories that he kept locked inside him for years were now opened to his new Squad. Omega, Rex, and the Bad Batch would take turns comforting him until they landed on the planet.

When Tech spoke on the intercom telling everyone that they were here, Echo whipped his tears away and ran out of the ship as soon as the door opened to the outside. He almost knocked Hunter over in the process. Echo started calling for his Brothers and heard voices calling out from one of the caves. Echo ran into the caves to see Droidbait, Cutup, and SURPRISINGLY Hevy were ALL ALIVE. Echo asked them HOW they survived the explosion and getting shot at. Echo also wanted to know HOW Cutup survived being eaten by the Rishi Eel.

As soon as the Omega & The Bad Batch came into the cave (Echo told his Squad Brothers about his guests), they sat in the cave listening to how they SURVIVED after the Battle. Echo asked how Droidbait survived after he got blasted by the droids.

Droidbait told him & the others that after he got shot, he pretended to be dead as the droid walked by. Once the droids were out of sight, he slowly got up and went into the vent that led to a secret bunker in one of the caves and placed a Bacta Patch to heal his wound. Droidbait then snuck back on the base to see if another of his squad was still ALIVE. As he was looking around, he saw that Sergeant O’Niner and his other Clone Brothers (not his Squad Brothers) were all DEAD. He tried to save them but with no luck. He did get a chance to hear Sergeant O’Niner take his last breath saying to Droidbait, “It was an Honor having….having (coughs) to have you here not for having you work with us….(takes a breath in) but a caring Brother. May the force be with you. (he took his last breath).”

After Echo heard that, he couldn’t stop but to cry after hearing what Droidbait had to say. Once Echo pulled himself together, he asked Cutup how he Survived after getting swallowed up by the Rishi Eel. Cutup told Echo and the others that since they had been at the base for a LONG TIME, he was able to bond with Rishi Eel. He taught the Rishi Eel some tricks if something ever BAD was happening, it would pick him up and drop him in the cave. He gave the Rishi Eel a name. Cutup told them that the Rishi Eel is a girl and that her name is “Chi Chi”. Cutup said that Chi Chi was going to bring Echo and the others into the cave but didn’t want to because she was afraid of getting shot at again. Echo did ask him where Chi Chi was. Cutup told him that he found her dead after he saw Echo & Fives leave in a ship. Echo didn’t want to tell him that Rex shot Chi Chi. Anyway, it was now time for Echo to ask HOW did Hevy survived after they saw the base blow up.

When Echo was about to asked how in the galaxy did Hevy survived, he looked at Hevy’s legs. He realized that Hevy had the same thing as Echo did only more different. Hevy was wearing Super Battle Droid Legs on. Hevy told Echo and the others that when he was about to hit the button on Gonk Droid, Droidbait IMMEDIATELY tossed a rope to Hevy from the air ducts so he could pull Hevy down in the cave after he pushed the button. Hevy was able to make it into the cave before the base blew up but lost his legs in the process. Hevy was in the Baca Tank that they had in the cave for 6 months. They had in the other caves a food & supplies storage and a place to sleep. They tried to contact someone but were still recovering from their injuries.

Echo was surprised that his Squad was still alive that he fainted. Lucky that Crosshair caught him before he could hit the floor. Wrecker helped carry Echo to the ship with his Domino Squad Brothers followed on board. Once they were all on the ship, Crosshair & Hunter piloted the ship while Tech gave the Domino Squad a check up to make sure that Echo was doing OK before they went back to Kamino for some real Medical Help. Domino Squad was a little bit hesitant on the thought of being used at EXPERIMENTS by the Kaminoans. Tech told them that they WON'T let the Kaminoans come see them. That made the Domino Squad feel more at ease.

Once they landed on Kamino, the Domino Squad got a STANDING OVATION as they stepped off the ship. The Domino Squad was shocked that their Brothers were proud of how they survived. They got hugs and compliments as they walked to the Medical Bay to get treated.

After a month of being in the Medical Bay (had Kamino Clone Guards outside their rooms so the Kaminoans wouldn’t enter the Domino Squad’s rooms also, Hevy got some new metal legs), Domino Squad & Echo got a BIG surprise. Domino Squad if Echo knew what the BIG surprise was. Even Echo had no clue. All he knows is that Rex, Cody, and the Bad Batch told them to put on the blind folds on as they guided them to a room. Once they were in the room, they told the Domino Squad and Echo to take off their blind folds. As soon as they took the blind folds off, they saw that their LAST Brother of their Squad Fives was STILL ALIVE! He was in a Bacta Tank. Kix (who was in the room making sure that Fives was doing OK) told them that Fives is doing better and that they will be able to see each other in a few weeks.

Echo couldn’t wait to tell Fives all the things that happened to him but was sad because he didn’t want to leave his Old Squad. Luckily Hunter told him that he can always visit the Bad Batch Squad whenever he wants to. Echo told Hunter that he wants to be with his Domino Brothers but he also wanted to be with the Bad Batch. As he was thinking on who he should stay with, Crosshair told him that Echo’s Squad can join the Bad Batch Squad because family is most important. The Bad Batch, Omega, and the Domino Squad liked that idea. Tech told everyone that if they were going to join together that they would need a new name. They just had to wait until Fives woke up.

After Fives was doing better, they started to come up with a new name. They had a hard time figuring out what to call themselves. Omega came up with a name. She told them that we should be called the “99’s Domino Batch”. Everyone liked that idea. Even Crosshair liked it. Finally, Echo was happy to have his Old Squad and his New Squad as One WHOLE Squad.

The Spaces Between

“What does the Force feel like?”

It’s dark out, and the vast sea of stars above them glitters faintly, casting pinpricks of light into Obi-Wan’s eyes. The forest rustles with the sounds of late evening, and farther away, a muted, human hum. The company is making camp, settling down for the next night on this unnamed planet. It’s peaceful here, and when things are so beautifully uncomplicated the quiet whispers guilt into Cody’s mind. One way or another, they’ve brought war to rest beneath its branches.

“Cody, you can ask anything of me you wish,” Obi-Wan had said. “I hope you know that.”

And there was a beat of silence, waiting for Cody to say something like thank you or I understand or that means a lot. But he didn’t. The words had tumbled from his mouth unbidden, and now his tongue throbbed where he wished he’d bitten them back.

Obi-Wan leans back, slightly, fixing his gaze on something beyond the stars, and Cody opens his mouth to apologize. But the Jedi beats him to it, as Jedi often do. “What an interesting question.” His beard curves softly along the lines of his smile.

Cody ducks his head down, sheepish, but he cannot take it back now. Obi-Wan is unfazed.

“I suppose it is hard to describe, because I have never been without it,” he muses. “We teach that it flows through us - we are its instruments, in a sense.” He shifts again, turning back to Cody. There is something compelling in the depths of his eyes, lit softly with kindness and care. Cody always wondered if that was it - that constant, undefined existence - or if that was simply the way Kenobi was. Maybe it was both.

So Obi-Wan sat back, pointing towards the spaces between the stars, telling snatches of stories Cody didn’t fully understand - moments stolen from when they were younglings, learning to meditate in the crèche, ancient fables of light and dark from thousands of years ago.

But Cody got it when Obi-Wan looked into his eyes, and smiled, and gestured towards the faraway sounds of the men, in their newly-built camp among the trees. Light glowed from their tents. A fire crackled subtly, and threads of woodsmoke wisped past Cody’s nose. Someone was singing - probably Wooley - and someone else laughed and added their voice to the song. Waxer, who would be clinging to Boil’s arm trying to get him to join in.

Cody could feel the warmth from here.

And it practically made Obi-Wan glow. He drank it in like it was mixed with the air, re-emitted it and tangled the air with something indescribable. His eyes glowed with that something, his body relaxed until he just was. He reached for Cody’s hand, and his fingers tingled with life and energy and meaning.

There was something my Master used to say, Obi-Wan tells him.

It surrounds us. It penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.

Cody looks back for the distant lights of his brothers. They’re singing, now, all together, and someone laughs when someone else is purposely off-key and the fire snaps merrily like an arrhythmic kind of percussion.

There’s something warm in his chest, a careful, kindly glow. His breaths come easier, and he can’t feel the bite of the breeze on the back of his throat anymore. Obi-Wan rubs his thumb over the back of Cody's hand, and the same warmth seems to live in all of the places their skin meets. It drifts in the air with the smoke and the sounds of the forest and the nameless melody around the fire.

Nowhere, and everywhere, and all of the places in between.

One final Obi-Wan and Cody for @clonetober - I can't believe it's almost over. I thought it was fitting to do them again. I wasn't expecting to get to know Cody this month as well as I have, but I'm so glad I have. He's such a beautiful character.

I do feel bad that the rest of the 212th hasn't really gotten the love they deserve (from me, anyway). It's been easier to psychoanalyze one person at a time, admittedly; but the rest of the guys in gold are quite high on my list of priorities.
