Düşük bütçeli korku filmlerindeki akıl hastanesine düşmüş bir adamdım. Ne kadar bağırır çağırırsam, olmam gereken yerin tam da burası olduğunu o kadar kanıtlamış oluyordum.

I know we all love the last scene and "what is an ocean, but a multitude of drops", but for me Yoona-939's short arc is one of the most poignant and heart wrenching. and if nothing else, it demonstrates how important art can be

God, i rewatched Cloud Atlas. I’m still in my 20s but this might be the movie of my life. They really elevated the original novel into a true tale of humanity, past future and now. Reminded me why I believe in us, in love, in the ties that bind. You can bet I was sobbing by the end.
The choice to repeat actors, transcending ethnicity and gender was genius. When sonmi and her resistance boyfriend meet again but in a past life, when frobisher says “I don’t think it was an accident I saw you first,” while the lawyer did indeed see the slave first, and a myriad of other instances… I feel like I should get on my knees and thank the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer everyday.
The endlessly fascinating take on reincarnation (which I do not remember being present in the novel) must also be highlighted. The pair of heroes (the main one always designated by the birthmark) vs the repeating actors and their characters show different but not contradictory possibilities. Tom hanks’ characters throughout the ages evolve until he becomes the hero, but at the same time I do believe the two heroes were always the same.
Not to be a bitch I do think understanding this movie emotionally is a litmus test for your humanity.

“Ser es ser percibido, por eso sólo puedes conocerte a ti mismo a través de los ojos del otro. La naturaleza de nuestras vidas mortales se halla en las consecuencias de nuestras palabras y nuestros actos, que no cesan de retroalimentarse a través del tiempo.”
