Upon waking up fully, Ky realizes the game has shifted and that they must form an alliance with Seraph least he get outnumbered
Seraph thinks Genesis’ eyes are pretty cool too and that he’s in need of fixing so goes along with it (he too has a secret agenda but for Reeve)
Hours later Seraph wakes up to Ky slamming his door open.
“Lily is gay!”
Seraph frowns. “I thought we were waiting for her to realize because it was rude to tell her first.”
Ky nods, flopping onto Seraph’s bed with his glasses askew and hair looking like a full bird’s nest. “Yes. And trust me she has but there’s something more important now than her realizing.”
Seraph cocks his head, waiting. Other people didn’t like how quiet and still they were while they waited like this, but his siblings never seemed to mind. Eventually Ky continued, “If Lily can’t have Barret win anymore she’s going to go for Vincent which means she is going to work with Jayden which—“
“That’s… not good.” Seraph’s nose scrunches as he thinks. “Dark Nation would try to eat the lizards.”
Ky nods. “So we have to team up too if we don’t want Rufus as our first and soon to be dead step dad.”
Seraph hums, thinking. Ky let him, only occasionally prodding him to blink when he forgot. They were nice like that.
“Genesis has pretty eyes.” He says at last like that answered everything.
Ky grins. “You’re the best Seraph. Now c’mon dad’s gotta be done with breakfast by now.”

tiktok music is so evil not just because pop musicians are now writing 1:30 min long soundbites, but because even those soundbites are edited into extatic weapons of consumerism that contribute to further inflation in sensation and frayed nerves, so now we need to bring back bad boredom in mainstream music (boring because bad) (my enemy) before we can bring back good boredom in mainstream music (boring because boredom has a place in the arts)

A couple of weeks ago I was talking with Starry and Luna, and Luna said something about the way that I portray Jing Yuan that really stuck with me:
[Jing Yuan] gives such a vibe of someone that's passively suicidal
Like they're not actively trying to kill themselves, but were they to face death in the eyes they would stare right back. Like they don't care anymore if they were to die, and would let it happen
The more I think about this, the more it's true. He's at peace with the concept of death to... an uncomfortable degree. He thinks about it a lot. Thinks about what his death would be like, how he might meet his demise, the potential aftermath. He has absolutely no desires to take his own life, nor would he dare to, but he's clearly waiting for his end, whatever that may entail. He's been expecting it for a long time, after all. He's the type where, if someone told him they could kill him, his response would be to tilt his head and sincerely ask "then why don't you?"
Jing Yuan, for all his playfulness and kindness and enthusiasm, also gives an impression that he's only around still because he has too much to do, too much to fix, too much to care for that has little to do with himself. It is very clear he does not live for himself. He treats every single battle like it's his last; look at what happened with Phantylia, after all. He speaks about death -- his death, likely at the hands of another, with so much casualness and even mild intrigue, like it's a fact he's long since accepted and is waiting for. And he is. He's not bitter or sad about it at all. Truthfully, I think the biggest reason aside from obligation to the Luofu that he's lasted this past decade and a half or so is because he found Yanqing and decided to raise him. Yanqing needs him. He will not leave yet.
His selflessness, too, is such a blatantly obvious example of his passive suicidal tendencies. He's always been a very sincere, generous and noble person, but becoming selfless to the point of never seeking anything for oneself and not even entertaining that possibility only happened after he lost the HCQ -- all the reason he had to be selfish in the first place. He lost one of his best friends, his mentor, his fiancees. There's no point in wanting anything for yourself if you're just going to lose it all and die anyway.
This puts a different spin onto his kindness and playfulness, too. He only carries a shadow of the enthusiasm he had in the HCQ, but still, he kept that much. He cares not for his legacy, but when it comes to the people who know him personally, he wants to be remembered with fondness for his kindness and his love. He wants to show that, despite the pain and grief he suffered in his life, one can still have the capacity to be kind and act on that kindness, and that they should.
...Sad, isn't it? Even his last moments would be for another person, a lesson in love.
