Liveblogging Grian's Session 3 Secret Life POV:
slkdjfsldkfjslkdjfslksdjf-
Grian, who is now soulbound to Joel, rushes over and pines for him in a needy way. Joel brushes him off because "One second, I'm bonding." Grian: "I might need you to un-bond. Joel..."
Joel really did take one look at Grian's task and immediately throw himself off a cliff so Grian took damage.
Grian adopts the role of Joel's bodyguard.
Joel runs to his wife who calls Grian creepy. Joel and Lizzie start fighting and Grian just stands there like "... Aren't you married?"
Scar asks Joel to undress in front of him and Grian screeches.
This all happens within 5 minutes.
Grian: "I'll be a good friend and just shut up."
Joel left Grian to his own devices and he immediately went home and burned down his staircase base.
Me, still playing the video while typing this liveblog: "Lol, I know this isn't the vibe, but you could spin this around and interpret it like he's lonely and wants to move in with Joel." Grian, immediately: "My house is on fire, Joel! Now I can move in with you! <3"
sldkfj the irony of Grian saying "I don't want to be friends with Tim; I did that last time" (Bad Boys in Limited Life) while hanging out with Joel, the other Bad Boy.
Joel: "I might just re-roll for a hard task. For one thing, if I fail and lose 10 hearts, then you lose them too-" Grian: "WHAAAAT???"
Joel chilling and watching Grian fight a zombie: "Protect me Grian."
Jimmy: "He seems to be following Joel around a lot." Grian, dying inside: "We're not that close."
sdkjflh Grian mocking Mumbo like "How can you be so into cars and not know how to drive a camel? It's only a few letters' difference!"
I love Grian and Mumbo crawling and Grian turns around and kicks Mumbo in the face like "Can you feel the Feather Falling IV on those babies?"
I've only seen Tango's and half of Grian's POVs so far, but I'm guessing Mumbo's task isn't necessarily to kill the camel, but to prevent Scar from riding the camel? That's hilarious. Can't argue with the logic that Scar cannot ride a dead camel.
Obsessed with Joel and Grian standing under the cherry tree as the blossoms fall around them and Grian's like "My best friend!" and Joel just leans in and says "I demand your heart."
Grian: "... Maybe we should go somewhere more private for that? Your wife is right there." sldkfj
I appreciate Joel towering up while Grian starts screaming that the Yellows are coming and he needs to keep going higher, all while Martyn is trying to scramble up to him. I presume the rule is that if you're calling someone out on their task, you have to do it face to face, so you can avoid this by running away? That's hilarious.
Joel looks so comfy in his hoodie skin. Good for him.
Grian, chasing endermen and trying to hit them with boats: "Not even this enderman wants to be my friend!!"
Grian: "I have an idea. If I want friends, I have to make my base friend-shaped."
Cracking up at everyone in the courthouse getting jumpscared by the dramatic music sting. Grian cackling and clapping down one hand like "I lay down the rules in this server!"
I feel like we can definitely run with Scar watching Mumbo face the Secretkeeper, which puffs out its little red dust clouds, and muttering to Grian: "I just had a vision of Mumbo's eyes turning red for a second." </3
sldkjf Scott's task being to get people to say "Love you" back to him. He starts listing off people who said it back, then says "Pearl didn't say it back." The divorce quartet drama continues.
Grian: "I've got Feather Falling IV! Watch this!" /takes fall damage.
Wheezing at Grian watching BigB run off like "I don't know game BigB's playing, but it's not Secret Life."
Session 3 Grian POV <3

I'm slowly reading up on building a NAS so that when I want to look at my photos I don't have to do slapstick shit with a stack of hard drives and HDD pricing is bizarre. 12, 14, and 16TB drives are all nearly identical prices. Some cool Toshiba drives out there. Haven't thought about Toshiba in a while.
I was going to do 2×12TB because while RAID isn't backup, having to restore from a cloud backup is a pain in the ass on slow internet if I can just restore from a RAID mirror and verify against hashes. I guess I'll probably end up at 2×16TB? That would really put me well beyond my Mission Time target (10 years) since I figure I generate at most like 300GB of photos a year. I guess I can get my brother to upload the family photo archive as well.
I considered doing 3×8TB but that requires me to actually consider a real PC build and not just jamming it in an old Lenovo Thinkcentre or whatever and also the pricing shakes out pretty similarly. At work I recently adopted a forgotten RAID1 server (read, old 2-bay WD MyCloud running debian) that finally had a drive failure after 11 years so I figure, 2 drives is. plenty.

on roshambo, the dreamer.
admittedly, i have the memory of a goldfish, and don’t remember things very well, so please note that whatever follows is probably only true of the roshambo that lives in my head (who also refuses to pay rent or get out), and not necessarily true of the ro in canon.
with that out of the way!
if i had to distil the essence of season 4 roshambo into a single theme, it would be “dreams”, or the lack thereof. there are two versions of ro that exist within my mind, defined by zam’s betrayal of mapicc and ro, the two versions henceforth referred to as pre-betrayal and post-betrayal.
pre-betrayal ro was many things: carefree, playful, perhaps even endearing to his friends. but, above all, he was the epitome of the idealistic dreamer. (well, about as idealistic as one can get on lifesteal.) in addition to his strange, jarring humour, i.e. the constant jokes about bodily fluids and the other gross things that make ro’s streams utterly unwatchable if you happen to be eating at the same time, ro had height and freakishly long limbs that made him clumsy. he’d seem almost like a silly little puppy, bumbling about, tripping over his own two feet every couple of minutes. he might even have been the type to daydream, spacing out during conversations (mapicc probably going “are you even listening, ro? i swear, if you’re thinking up another poop joke, i’m actually going to kill you.” and zam, in between his own laughs, helpfully adding that he would only stop mapicc a little bit). he’d be the type to get  distracted while grinding materials, solely because he thought of something that set off a tangent in his head.
this is not to say that pre-betrayal ro was all rainbows and sunshine, innocence and optimism. he was dangerous in his own right, and it would have been a costly mistake for anyone to take him for a fool. his active involvement in, perhaps even instigation of the petrification, as well as all of the duping he willingly partook in cannot be ignored. he may have seemed or, generously, really been a goofball, but the nature of lifesteal demands of everyone the willingness to hurt others, and i firmly believe that ro did have a selfish streak (here, including his teammates’ benefit, not just his own), even if he didn’t realise it.
it is difficult to explain, the way ro is a hopeful dreamer even if the rest of the server might not necessarily see him that way. this is, in my silly little head, how the petrification came to be. “isn’t it a shame?” ro, interrupting mapicc and zam’s conversation to lament the ephemeral nature of spawn, the kind of concern only an idealistic dreamer like him could bother to care, or do anything, about. dismissively, mapicc tells him to get his head out of the clouds, but zam (who i believe to be characterised by control and paranoia) sees how them being the ones to immortalise spawn can only be a win-win. with how spawn is literally the heart of the server, to permanently alter it would be an undeniable show of power, of control, over everyone else, because they probably won’t like it, but what can they do about it? and on the off-chance that everyone else does like it? well, for zam, there’s very little difference between being feared and being loved. and while ro may not have originally intended the immortalisation of spawn to be a display of power, his “darker streak”, so to speak, is more than happy to see it to adopt that more selfish intention. lastly, mapicc’s hands take those loose, floating ideas, seeing exactly how he needs to stitch them together to make them real, so he’s the one who suggests using obsidian. and thus, the petrification was set in motion.
and then, in standard zam fashion: he stabs them in the back, and runs.
mapicc is furious, of course. not because he didn’t see it coming, he did (this is zam he’s talking about), but because he didn’t think zam actually had the guts to do it. guess he didn’t know zam as well as he thought he did.
and ro? well, ro’s the only one who didn’t see it coming.
unintentionally insensitive, mapicc calls ro “naive”. ro grabs him by the neck, eyes glittering, and demands to know why mapicc kept zam around for so long and gave him so much, if he had always known that zam was going to betray them. mapicc’s silence makes ro cry.
ro cries more during the weeks that follow than he has the entire past year. mapicc knows he’s lucky if he can get ro to stomach anything at all, so he pretends to be asleep when he hears ro moving around in the kitchen at 4am, even though it’s the third time he’s had popcorn for dinner in five days. mapicc also doesn’t comment on how every single item in the base containing a hint of yellow (that mapicc himself hasn’t already smashed to shards) moves repeatedly between ro’s room and the trash can. one day it stops, and mapicc almost thinks they’re gone for good, until he realises that all ro’s done is paint over the yellow parts with red. mapicc averts his eyes when he feels ro staring at him from all the dark parts of their base, ro’s gaze digging into his back, as if trying to pry from him a confession that mapicc was going to be just like zam, and he was going to betray ro someday.
ro didn’t have a habit of keeping his summoned hands around, and for the most part he still doesn’t, except now mapicc can always see the outline of two hands, one in each of ro’s hoodie pockets. ro’s never actually showed them to mapicc, but some mornings mapicc finds him slumped over the kitchen counter with a bag of stale popcorn clutched tightly in his fist, one disembodied hand tangled in his hair, and the other held gently to his cheek. mapicc tries not to think about how the hands are wearing red and yellow adornments respectively, and mapicc definitely hasn’t ever stood in the doorway listening to ro quietly mumble his name and zam’s over, and over, and over again. (mapicc didn’t stick around the second time it happened.) (if he did, he might have seen the way ro watched mapicc leave with bloodshot eyes, intertwining his fingers with the mapicc-hand’s cold ones in a pitiful attempt at self-consolation.)
the first time ro sees zam since then, zam is tearing up the obsidian at spawn and replacing it with dirt. ro’s eyes can’t help but trail the obsidian blocks as zam tosses them away. can a wound that hasn’t begun to close reopen again?
there is hatred in zam’s eyes. ro knows, knows that he should have stopped there, should have let himself be fooled by the disguise, should have let that be closure and turn around and leave and do anything but poke further … but ro’s a god damn hopeless dreamer, isn’t he, and asking questions he doesn’t want the answers to is just what he does.
behind the hatred, zam offers a genuine apology, but there isn’t a sliver of the regret that ro desperately needs.
in a fit of grief, he kills zam.
the living nightmare that is post-betrayal ro becomes recognisable only by his physical appearance, and even in that respect, he has mutated so much. he no longer trips over his own two feet. every stride casually measured, ro gradating towards the splitting image of some kind of heavenly serpent. the way he carries himself now, every grand movement of his long, elegant limbs persuasively insistent and firmly coaxing, makes being around this version of ro stifling in every sense of the word. the jokes that come out of his mouth should, by all means, be hilarious. they’re the same jokes as before, contain the same words and the same punchlines, but it’s the detached and uninvested way ro delivers them now, as if he were reciting the lines for the sole sake of saying something, that makes it hard for anyone, even mapicc, to genuinely laugh at them anymore.
i don’t quite remember where i read this, but there was this brilliant idea that between ro and mapicc, even though mapicc seems like the mastermind, in truth, ro is the real puppeteer who’s pulling on the strings. i agree with this completely! despite how much it seems like it’s ro who’s entertaining mapicc’s violent tendencies, i believe it’s the other way round, where mapicc is the one playing along and giving in to ro’s insanity.
it might be because mapicc’s not confident that he actually has the option to say no to ro’s ideas anymore. zam’s betrayal tore apart everything ro had previously believed to be unshakable truth. (zam’s betrayal was likely glaringly obvious, yet ro was blind to it, perhaps because he’s so focused on looking at the big picture around him that he doesn’t notice the little things happening right next to him. but i also think, that even if he did notice, it’s unlikely that his idealistic nature would have allowed him to internalise the notion of betrayal enough for him to even consider that it could actually happen.) (i think that both zam and this version of ro have elements of paranoia deeply embedded within them, they just have different reactions. zam reacts to paranoia by actively trying to make sense of it, i.e. his signs, which are meant to help him “get out of his head” and work through his problems logically, fighting to take back the control that he lost. on the other hand, i feel that ro reacts to paranoia with fear, with passivity, and is likely to shy away and let it run its course because he doesn’t know how to fix it without making it worse. that is exactly what happens here. in a sense, post-betrayal ro is pre-betrayal ro, if the only thing he could ever feel is paranoia and helplessness, and it is then true that pre-betrayal ro is still somewhere within post-betrayal ro, but that might not matter at all with how irrevocably, deeply suppressed and locked away pre-betrayal ro is.) the only thing mapicc can predict about this foreign ro, is that he’s unpredictable.
and maybe, even if mapicc could “safely” leave ro, he wouldn’t, because he was there, forced to watch, horrified by what zam leaving did to ro. he’s not sure whether ro’s ever going to be mentally or emotionally capable of handling even the implication that mapicc’s thinking about leaving, and mapicc’s not going to take those chances.
that is, until he has no choice but to put ro down, the same way you set a miserably sick puppy, whose incurable condition eats away at it by the day, into sleep’s gentle hands. because ro’s not zam, doesn’t know how to fight his paranoia, and he’s not mapicc, who keeps his paranoia out by constructing walls of sheer rage. ro is just ro, is helpless against the paranoia that chews up his dreams and spits them out as nightmares, is both living through a nightmare and the living nightmare.
mapicc’s sword in his back cures ro of his paranoia.
the dreamer learns to dream again.

A little over two years have passed since the online vigilante who would call himself P4x fired the first shot in his own one-man cyberwar. Working alone in his coastal Florida home in late January of 2022, wearing slippers and pajama pants and periodically munching on Takis corn snacks, he spun up a set of custom-built programs on his laptop and a collection of cloud-based servers that intermittently tore offline every publicly visible website in North Korea and would ultimately keep them down for more than a week.
P4x’s real identity, revealed here for the first time, is Alejandro Caceres, a 38-year-old Colombian-American cybersecurity entrepreneur with hacker tattoos on both arms, unruly dark brown hair, a very high tolerance for risk, and a very personal grudge. Like many other US hackers and security researchers, Caceres had been personally targeted by North Korean spies who aimed to steal his intrusion tools. He had detailed that targeting to the FBI but received no real government support. So he decided to take matters into his own hands and to send a message to the regime of Kim Jong Un: Messing with American hackers would have consequences. “It felt like the right thing to do here,” Caceres told WIRED at the time. “If they don’t see we have teeth, it’s just going to keep coming.”
As he sought an outlet to broadcast that message to the Kim regime, Caceres told his story to WIRED while he carried out his attack, providing screen-capture videos and other evidence that he was, in fact, single-handedly disrupting the internet of an entire country in real time. But it was only just before going public that he decided to invent the P4x pseudonym for himself. The handle, pronounced “pax,” was a cheeky allusion to his intention of forcing a kind of peace with North Korea through the threat of his own punitive measures. He hoped that by hiding behind that name, he might evade not just North Korean retaliation but also criminal hacking charges from his own government.
Instead of prosecuting him, however, Caceres was surprised to find, in the wake of his North Korean cyberattacks, the US government was more interested in recruiting him. Caceres would spend much of the next year on a strange journey into the secretive world of America’s state-sponsored hacking agencies. Adopted informally by a Pentagon contractor, he was invited to present his techniques to high-level US defense and intelligence officials. He carried out a long-term hacking project designed to impress his new audience, hitting real foreign targets. And he pitched Department of Defense officials on a mode of US government-sanctioned cyberattacks that, like his solo North Korean takedown, would be far leaner, faster, and arguably more effective than Washington’s slow and risk-averse model of cyberwar.
Caceres’ pitch never got the green light. Now, partly due to his frustration with that experience, he’s finally dropping his pseudonym to send a new message, this one aimed at his fellow Americans: that the US government needs to wield its hacking powers far more aggressively. “Both the NSA and the DOD have a ton of talented hackers, yet when it comes to actually performing disruptive cyber operations, for some reason we as a country are just frozen and scared,” Caceres says. “And that needs to change.”
He points to ransomware actors, mostly based in Russia, who extracted more than a billion dollars of extortion fees from victim companies in 2023 while crippling hospitals and government agencies. North Korea–affiliated hackers, meanwhile, stole another $1 billion in cryptocurrency last year, funneling profits into the coffers of the Kim regime. All of that hacking against the West, he argues, has been carried out with relative impunity. “We sit there while they hack us,” Caceres says.
So Caceres is now arguing that it’s time for the US to try the P4x approach: that a part of the solution to foreign cybersecurity threats is for the American government’s own hackers to show their teeth—and to use them far more often.
Caceres and the Pentagon contractor that partnered with him—whose founder agreed to talk to WIRED on the condition we not name him or his company—spent much of the past two years advocating within the US government for that far-more-brazen approach to state-sponsored cyberattacks. They describe it as a special forces model: single hackers or small teams carrying out nimble, targeted digital disruptions, in contrast to the US’s traditionally slower and more bureaucratic approach to cyberwarfare.
“You can have an impact here, and it can be asymmetrical, and it can occur on a much faster timescale,” summarizes the founder of the hacker startup that worked with Caceres to pitch the Pentagon.
He cites a military principle that each member of a special forces unit should have the effect of 16 conventional soldiers. “With what we and P4x were doing, we wanted to increase that ratio a hundredfold,” he says. “And P4x would teach other operators how to do it.”

Hello ✨️ Here is my second attempt ever of drawing a real background and it went not so bad I believe! It's for the prompt "Lemonade" of the February mission for the KakaIru server! I chose the Rokudaime level, which meant I had to include "jam, cloud, bike" and "white, blue, lime".
I decided to go with something cute and domestic, a bit of fluff they both deserve 💛 I love when they adopt a child too, and Sasuke would be insufferable with Naruto.

Lost and Found
By Lydia
All of the following items have been brought to The Overseer staff’s office for safekeeping until they are claimed. If you recognize one of these items as yours, please visit us to receive your items, or contact us at [email protected]. Lost items will be sent to Twinkly Trash if not picked up after two weeks. Thank you! *Not a real email address.
Item 1: A heavy backpack full of amethyst This backpack is dyed a bright orange with blue accents and is filled with two stacks of amethyst. Basic diamond mining tools were also found inside the pack, along with three stacks of torches.
Item 2: A necklace of animal teeth This necklace appears to be made out of the teeth of several Ravagers and is painted with intricate spiraled patterns.
Item 3: A pile of shoelaces with frayed ends These shoelaces appear to have been made a few years ago and were found in a small pouch. They come in several bright colors and are very short, as if they were made for children’s sneakers. There were no aglets on these shoelaces and the ends are very frayed.
Item 4: A box of pavement chalk This box of chalk was found in the Shopping District next to a series of chalk drawings lining the paths. These drawings resemble large chasms, out of which are bursting colorful lightning bolts. There are also several circles, inside of which are written, “Bad Luck Spot.”
Item 5: A pack of playing cards This pack of cards was found near Grian’s rocks and is designed with characters from several 1980s arcade games. They were found scattered in the area.
Item 6: A necklace with a locket This was found in the woods and gave the finder an electric shock when they attempted to open it. There is a distant ticking sound coming from it and an engraving on the back, written in galactic. Half of the engraving is scratched off. The finder suggests taking it as far as possible or finding a way to destroy it completely.
Item 7: A set of tools and weapons in an overgrown box This set includes a sword with Riptide 3, an axe with Feather Falling 2, a pickaxe with Blast Protection 3, a bow with Thorns 5, a shovel with Aqua Affinity, a fishing rod with Flame, and shears with Swift Sneak 3 and Soul Speed 2.
Item 8: A life-sized crocheted office printer plush Stuffed with cotton, it is scented like that of a fresh book. The finder believes whoever made this took “Your workplace is your home,” quite literally.
Item 9: A shipment of merchandise to be released This was found via a motorcycle delivery driver crashing into someone’s garden. The items include subtly designed Warden hoodies, frosty mugs resembling frozen shards, Collector’s Edition Decked Out 2 Cards, relic charms, and two dozen shirts that say, “I survived the burning dark and all I got was this lousy t-shirt,” with one of the dozen being colored to resemble a Ravager and the other colored like that of a Warden. The apparels are made with moderately thick fabric, making them ideal for both warm and cool weather.
Item 10: An indestructible 25-ounce goose-shaped mug This goose-shaped mug depicts the goose’s neck as the handle. It says, “FLIGHT, FRIGHT, FIGHT!” in the font of Another Danger by The Branded Quotes, written in vibrant red letters. It has Unbreaking 5 and Mending. It has been dropped eight times on the finder’s way to the office and not a single chip or dent has formed.

My name is Emily, and tomorrow is my last day in this body.
Ever since Engramicon developed a way to upload a person's consciousness to a world wide server as an engram, I've imagined what it would be like to have limitless freedom in a virtual world. Now I can't seem to get over everything I'm leaving behind; my daughter Sarah, grandson Alex, and my cat Luffy. I've lived 59 long years in this world, worked hard for everything I have. Now Engramicon gets the rest of my life. Apparently there is a way to talk to people still in the real world, but I'm still leaving my entire life behind.
At first only terminally ill people and whoever could afford the charges were uploaded. but last year a new law was passed, that anyone 60 years or older must be uploaded to preserve our worlds dwindling resources. now it's my turn.
Originally, people were outraged when The Upload was made mandatory and people realized we were losing the ends of our lives, but before long, most people were on board with the idea. The appeal of looking exactly how you want, and being able to go anywhere at any time is undeniable, but will it ever feel real? Will I ever feel the sun on my face again?
I'm on my way to visit Dr. Harper, the lead psychologist who oversaw development of The Upload. Hopefully he can help calm my nerves, I just can't understand how I can still be me if I'm just data on a hard drive. I'll be gone long before Alex even takes his first steps. Looking out the window of my taxi, I can see the building where I was first hired, the coffee shop where I wrote all of my articles, and the courthouse where I adopted Sarah. I still remember when I came to this city, a young woman with nothing but my car and dreams in my head. Back then being uploaded to a computer was still the stuff of science fiction, I never dreamed I would be a part of it.
I started working as a journalist, mostly covering stories n one would hear , and certainly nothing I cared about, but eventually I became a tech journalist, and was assigned the job of reporting on development of The Upload. in early testing, entire engrams went missing. others were corrupted beyond recognition. By the time they began human trials, all of the major bugs had been ironed out, but they still had issues.
After closing her diary, Emily stepped out of the taxi, and with a deep breath, and a final look over her shoulder to make sure she remembered the only world she's ever known. in the distance she saw storm clouds looming, but the sun was still shining, children still laughed in the park across the street, and as always, the sounds of life in the city never ended. With the reassurance that the world was going nowhere, she pushed through the double doors to Dr. harpers office.

N7 Month, 2023 - Day 20: Drone
A little geth drone on Eden Prime
++
The little drone shuddered briefly, then raised into the air with a faint hum. The geth programs piloting it of course had no name, but understood themselves as “Iterations 496724156 -496724203”, specially formatted with flight information and coordination.
It was a beautiful day to be embodied, the geth understood. The sensory capabilities of mobile platforms was wildly more diverse than what the geth were used to experiencing within their original server. The geth had been embodied on a planet—green spreading across the rise and fall of the hills, crystalline lakes that sparkled in the sunlight.
Behind them, the Great God, Nazara, rose like a black obelisk into the sky, its colossal mass effect field rolling off the ship like heat from a lava flow. The little drone was assigned their perimeter and whisked away from the Great God as quickly as possible—some iterations platformed within had heartily welcomed Nazara when it appeared, but faced with it as a sensory-being, they now quailed before it.
As they cruised about their assigned perimeter, the geth couldn’t help but feeling the exhilaration of flight—so far as they were capable of understanding it: it was freedom of ‘movement’ (something that was taken for granted in server) in the world of senses, and by rising lower or higher, the drone could inspect the browse-line of the animals at the edge of the forest, or lift up and take in the whole valley from the clouds.
Their favorite thing, though, were the floating pods which seemed to congregate together around the ponds. They didn’t have enough processing power to work out why the odd organic bags floated, but they were graceful in their own bulbous way—or so the geth understood. They made a hollow thump when the drone bopped them, and it understood that this would be great fun if it had the processing power to appreciate it.
Some iterations were falling out of consensus, now, though. What a beautiful planet, and whatever the Great God had planned here, it was not a plan that would make the planet any more lovely, certainly. Or so the geth understood.
Finally, the iterations came upon a new consensus: they would not go back to Nazara, they would not help the Great God anymore. They didn’t need the full geth consensus, these iterations were just fine on their own! The geth was filled with a new sense it understood as freedom. It spiraled up into the air, flipping itself around and around, watching and smelling and hearing the landscape go round and round—
A roaring noise, a starship dropping through the atmosphere. Three organics emerged, armored, carrying weapons. They were within the geth’s assigned search perimeter. What did it care, though? Let the organics be, the geth did not work for the Great God anymore.
“What the hell are those?” one being asked its compatriots.
“Gas bags. Don’t worry, they’re harmless.”
“Probably make for good target practice,” said the third, seemingly leading the group. With that, he raised his weapon and fired. One of the lovely gas bags burst in a flash of green fire. The third being laughed, and raised his weapon again. Another gas bag exploded, and another.
The geth did not have the processing power for rage, but they understood that this was the operating framework to adopt if they had.
They rushed down from where they were hovering, watching the organics, and were soon laying down fire. The organics rushed for cover.
“Geth drone!” Cried one of them.
“Jenkins!” Cried another, as the geth rendered one of the organics non-combative.
It did not know how best to protect the gas bags, this beautiful planet. It simply didn’t have the processing power to plan and strategize, if only—
The third organic popped up from behind a rock, took, aim. Before they knew it, the geth was perforated through its super structure, flight controls destroyed, plummeting to the ground. The fraction of a second it took to fall was a lifetime for the geth. And, as its iterations perished one by one, it filled itself with the thought of its first—and last—beautiful planet. Beautiful. Beautiful.

Long-Term Strategy for Game Series Support
We're entering an era of Long-Term support for Video Games Series. (THAT'S A LIE, WEVE BEEN THERE FOR A MINUTE NOW.)
As Developers and Publishers start shutting down online services for older games (and in some cases disabling the game entirely)
Which is necessary, considering that servers take money to continue running. And older game players simply aren't bringing in revenue to keep the lights on. (Because they're not bringing in any money)
The question that AAA developers should be asking; "How do we integrate our games backend into a shared eco-system in order to reduce costs for each individual game, and increase adoption of newer services/games for our players?"
This is a question that must be asked because Developers and Publishers already know how difficult it is to retain profits while competing with the Resale and Third-Party markets like GameStop.
Many developers have started creating "Always On" services which require the game to be connected to the internet in order to play offline portions. (To verify authenticity that the game was purchased from an official source and not pirated.)
After-all it's hard to continue paying for online services if pirates are using them.
Still, services like Hearthstone provide a free service, free product, and still manage to turn profit. Part of this is because of the competitive environment and sponsored tournaments.
By offering a prize, plenty of players can be convinced to play, just in case they feel like going pro next year.
But they probably won't. Despite that; the game is incredibly fun to play. Except when several players in a row have the exact combo that enables them to keep tempo, and so you gotta grin and bear it till it becomes fun again.
Or buy more cards.
Still, how do you create an environment for the casual players of casual games. Like Animal Crossing, or Pokemon. Since most Pokemon players aren't competitive.
After a half-a-decade, the business model dictates that you sell a new game to replace the old one.
Part of the problem here is that each new game has a lot of the same content as the old game, and thus; in order to switch you need throw away your old save file and start from scratch.
Many players that would do that just because they can would have done so already. And so older players may end up giving up both the old and new, simply because it's easier to do so.
Despite the newest games having a lot of the same content, a lot of old content is lost. Like the Story. What would traditionally be called the "Movie" or "Novel" portion. Depending on if it was a cutscenes or several hundred lines of text.
And so in order to re-experience the old content; many players may instead choose to simply to pirate the old content, or read about it from online sources.
Part of the solution is to simply offer the old content to new players. And to try to convince older players into the new areas by allowing them to bring their old content and achievements with them.
This can be accomplished a few different ways. Crypto is one way to create a ledger tied to a players account so that they can share their content between platforms and games.
Nearly every platform, PlayStation, XBOX, and while Nintendo doesn't offer a platform specific variant, game often still include achievements.
And this system can be used to store certain content on a player basis to brought into newer or different games.
This would also enable cross-game items/content/achievements that players could bring with them from series to series.
Which would be a boom for cross-promotional purposes. And by creating an environment and a system that enables to store this in the same place(cloud). You could also control for DataBase specifications in order to reduce size and increase speeds for each individual game.
Now, I am pretty well Versed in Learning Content Distribution. SCORM(This is an acronym you don't need to know, and would only raise more questions if I explain it, so I'll stick to the surface here.) SCORM, TinCan, and xAPI (not to be confused with Twitter) are specifications created for the Learning Management Environment (Education, College, Government, and corporate training models) in order to do exactly what I'm talking about with as little or as much data bandwidth requirements, is relatively secure and includes cross-service achievement-like systems.
As well as content-distribution systems.
I would assume there's a way to integrate it with Crypto. It would replace the monkey WEBMs with something more substantial.
And this service or system would allow not only players to bring their accounts and achievements and items with them from game to game (or from game to social media) but games to communicate with each other.
Again, I'm thinking "Eco-system" here. Publishers would be able to do large-scale cross-promotional events with many games simultaneously. And enable platform-hoping between games with content from each individual event.
What this means is that you would also be able to provide a place for those old games to exist, even if they don't participate it the Events anymore. AND encourage players to try new and other games because they don't lose their original save files doing so.

Other's I moved to discord just haven't writen them in years but the servers are still active for OOC chats. My Jane was just a self writing challenge & to fuck with an old friend So I probably won't write her again. I drifted many of my female muses ages ago when I came out or just switched platforms. Though there are a few I'm just not interested in writing.

🍀 for. any of your rain world ocs you wanna talk about we don't remember all their names shfhfhhd
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
oh its paragraph time baby.
ancients
endless sky, looping sea - ok so here's a funny thing my friend mentioned something about omens being close with an ancient iirc and i offered to make a silly for that and now i have endless :] and then they got the horrors.
soaring eclipse above crescent tides - originally a bit of Sol Warrior Cats and icarus but now it's just self projection plaza. their design however i can talk about. the current one, at least. their current one is much more dragon based and has pterosaur based wings! the blue-purple gradient has always been a constant for some reason and i think it was just for the sake of accent colors.
apparently everlasting - i saw a post akin to this post i think? something like it, and i had the idea of a kid turned turned iterator because their mom didn't want them to be forced to ascend during the mass ascension because of how young they were. she hoped she could stay too, but...
pearls collapsing within stained grounds - had the idea of a child that got echoed and their echo could never leave because they were attached to the very world itself
stars lost within stars / boundless dying stars among vanishing clouds - "so we have iterators turned slugcat..... what about ancient turned slugcat?" and then the horrors.
slugcats
broadcast slugcat - rule of funny in a roleplay lmao. something something itd be funny if a slugcat connected to the broadcast
the collector - had the idea of an iterator reincarnated into a slugcat.
specks of feathers - so endless' iterator friend has A Lot of miros birds and i thought- what if endless did have a friend as an echo before they ever said hi to omens again as an echo?
little light - MY FIRST RAIN WORLD OC. they're based on my first survivor playthrough where i went pearl collecting. their title is the archaeologist. the red strings and red dots on the forehead are inspired by looks to the moon.
the gatherer - an iggy projection slugcat!
the laceweaver - one of the beta spearmaster designs shared by faeling!
the voidskipper - dark teal/abyss colored cut arena slugcat
iterators
seven lucky patches - on an rp server we were joking abt getting mipped and i made a silly design and Wuhoh here's an oc i have now. their design is inspired by calico cats because they're called lucky cats in german - and seven is a lucky number in germany. and yknow. clovers
a vestigial era - SO. ONE OF MY FIRST RAIN WORLD OCS. this is a direct quote; "i just made eon because i wanted funny iterator that bruteforced their way outta their can". I THINK IT WAS MY FRIEND HERO'S IDEA THAT HE WAS AN ITERATOR TURNED SLUGCAT? I'M NOT TOO SURE ON THAT ONE. his original name was lost vestigial era! he bruteforced a way outta his can to check up on his friend, falling silent hope, aaand on the topic of her -
falling silent hope - oh voids i need to add her modified puppet ref/remake it. anyway. one of my first rain world ocs again! i think she was made just to be ave's friend - her structure is in awful condition. its only standing because of slugcats and scavengers. anyway! her original inspiration is hard to pinpoint.... i think i was messing around?
futile constellations - um. i had a name. i wanted to use it. the design is inspired by galaxies and night skies though. now that i'm looking at it probably also an old adopt i made
scattered perception - yeah ok SO i had the name and i dont remember where i got it from? but it gave me the idea of an iterator where the overseers are them and not just eyes for them and the rest is history
SORROW/watcher - evosmp watchers do i need to say more
apathetic nostalgia - originally they were a joke of "haha inv but iterator turned slugcat" ........... guess who has a wholeass story now that includes someone elses oc and they both had their narratives doomed by eachother
and i think that's all the ocs i can mention and remember atm lmao
