In The Lap of Luxury, Chapter 15
Show: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Jemily
Rating: Explicit
Summary: Instead of joining the BAU after Doyle, Emily takes another undercover case with Interpol. This time, she's going undercover as herself. She's married Gabor Farkas, the American ambassador to Hungary (and a sex trafficker), in order to get information and track down the rest of the ring. Unfortunately, she's been with him for two years and hasn't found anything. Instead, she's bored, frustrated, and lonely, tired of being a trophy wife to someone who is never around. So, she hires an escort that can keep her company and give her as much sex as she wants. That escort? JJ. The thing is… Emily doesn't know that JJ is undercover, too.

Trivial Diffusion: Spencer Reid
Summary: Spencer and the reader have been pretending to be rivals for quite some time, jokingly taking shots at each other and trying to win games against each other to prove higher intelligence. One day, Spencer suggests they play something else and little do they know that game turns into a whole lot more play.
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader
Warning/Includes: playful hatred, friendly-fire rivalry, kissing, protected sex (hardly written), tension to smut to fluff.
A/N: lightly based on The Name of The Game, by ABBA
“You know what I think, Dr.Reid, is that secretly, deep, deep down in the skinny soul that fills your skinny body... you like me.” You teased, setting down your cards. That was it, the game was over, you had won.
Spencer Reid shook his head, “I would say we’re acquainted and not friends. Coworkers at worst.” He set down his cards to show you he had nearly nothing. Chances, chances, chances. “Derek, was she cheating? I think she was cheating.”
Derek Morgan was entirely asleep in his seat. It was just after the BAU had been sent on another big case and everyone had been working on it from the BAU until you all could get the jet. It was nearing nine o’clock but nearly everyone on the jet was sleeping from a day of overworking at home. All but you and ye of little faith. Hotch confirmed that the team didn’t start interacting with the police until tomorrow so that everyone could crash at the hotel before it all actually began, so it was a matter of time before everyone woke again.
Spencer was good at his games, knew probability well and could probably win against the averagely smart man, but not you. He could never beat you at cards and that nearly killed him, so every time you flew back to or from Quantico, he asked to play, hoping he would somehow win. This had been going on for months along with the little jokes and friendly fire you had with him. As much as you pretended to hate each other, you were both pretty transparent to the rest of the team.
“Sorry that I’m not your favourite member of the team,” you smiled at him playfully and tossed him the reorganized deck. He caught it with a small smile. “If you want, we can play something else and I’ll let you win.”
He shook his head and cracked his knuckles. “Battle of wits. Random trivia. I want to see you flail and drown.”
“Violent, Doc.” You raised your eyebrows at him. He had confidence in something just as risky- his mistake. There wasn't time, though. “We land in ten, though, so on the way home from this case if you’re up for it.”
“Are you too tired or are you afraid to lose?”
“Neither,” you sighed, cracking your knuckles. “Fine, you’re on.”
----
At the hotel, everyone was groaning and grumbling and ready to crash for the night. You guessed working from the BAU for two and a half days before getting to the case was too much for them, but with your cup of sugar with a little coffee, you were wide awake.
The second Hotch dolled out the keys, you grabbed Emily who was moving like a zombie and pulled her to her designated room. You were all lucky enough to get your own rooms on this case so once you dropped her and her bags off there then found your own room next to hers.
The first thing you did was pull yourself out of your office clothes and into your pyjamas. You slipped on long, flowy, pale blue, loose-fabric pants that felt cool against your skin as well as sat on your hips paired with a simple white tank top. You kept your bra on just to keep a little decency and let your hair fall down around your shoulders, brushing it through a little.
You were prepared to win against Spencer. That was it, flat out. You would win. You both were the geniuses of the team and he had been waiting for a moment to prove he was better than you in some way, but that would be his downfall. He wanted to win so desperately and you wouldn't let that happen.
It had been months of this snarky attitude from him that you know was only in play. Maybe this would make him give up when you won. You slipped out of your room and up to the door of the room you saw Spencer walk into. The knock you gave was quiet enough not to disturb anyone but him and it only took him a moment to answer, his lips pursed straight.
"Come in," he said, gesturing. You saw his eyes flicker over what you were wearing as he had probably never seen you so entirely casual. You narrowed your eyebrows at him as you slipped into his room.
The room was identical to yours but smelled a little different. "I love what you've done with the place, wow, Dr.Reid..." You joked, sitting on the edge of his bed. He shut the door slowly, pressing his back to it with that crooked smile of his. "So are you ready to lose?"
"I-I don't believe I am," he said, hands behind his back. Something was off... he didn't stutter when he was in that teasing pretend hatred. Never- it was always as if that was his comfort in trying to beat you. "Let's begin."
You raised your eyebrows and slid onto the floor at the edge of the bed and pat the spot in front of you against the wall. He didn't protest, in fact, he sat right down with his laptop.
"What's this?" You asked.
"This is Garcia who searched up trivia questions and will be asking us. To answer, we hit this button in front of us. If the answer is wrong, it goes to the other person. Got it?" Spencer set the computer up.
"Yeah..." you nodded, setting your eyes on Garcia. "Hey, Penelope!"
"If it isn't my favourite (Y/N)!" She exclaimed, blowing kisses through the screen. "I must admit I'm a little scared. Spencer here called me and he sounds like he's about to... murder you."
You looked up at Spencer through your eyelashes and back down at Penelope. "He's the one about to be murdered, Pen. Both of you, brace yourselves. I'm ready."
"And now I am even more scared, thank you for that Elton John and Madonna..." Penelope clicked through her computer.
Spencer looked at you now with confusion. For a genius, he wasn't very well-educated in celebrity culture. "This is why you're going down, Reid." You laughed.
His voice raised in pitch, "Because my-my-my name isn't Elton John and I don't understand the reference?" Oh, he was so going to lose.
Spencer set the button out. Convenient that he had them... maybe he'd been planning for this longer than you'd thought. Penelope on the screen sat to the right of you both and she had all her questions lined up. She did a little drumroll, then began.
"Name the number that is three more than one-fifth of one-tenth of one-half of 5,000, go!"
It took you a second but you and Spencer hit the button at the same time. "53!" You said in unison.
"Fuck!" You laughed, rubbing your eye.
There was a slight clicking noise on Garcia's end and you watched her face go from confusion to wide-eyed wonder. "You both are too smart for your own good-"
"Ne-Next question, please," Spencer said, his face in his hands. If the whole thing was like this, how would either one of you win?
More questions passed, some were ties, some were won by Spencer and some by you, but at the end of Penelope's list.. you had tied and it was 11:30pm. With each question, you felt the tension in the room worsen. Each loss, each win, your stomach had butterflies. Who was going to win this? You and Spencer, after an hour and a half of losses, wins, and ties and Garcia getting more scared by the second, you tied.
Then of course there were the tiebreakers which you both tied on. After five tiebreakers, Garcia was done. "Congrats, you're both smart as hell! I am tired, so I'll let you little birdies wrestle it out, just don't blame the injuries on me."
"Garcia, no-" Spencer protested, needing to win.
Penelope waved goodbye and Spencer reached for the laptop, but he couldn't stop her. "Garcia, out!" She ended the video call, leaving Spencer and you alone.
Well, nobody won now. Nobody lost either. Spencer, you could see he was done, just done. All the talk of winning and he really got so nervous he stuttered around you. You grinned, tilting your head against his bed and just laughing. Nobody won!
For some reason, the tension in the room was still thick. You noticed it when you finally stopped laughing at the circumstances when you looked at Spencer with his head in his hands. He wasn't really upset, he was just confused as to how it came to a draw with you like this.
"Was it my tits that threw off your game, Reid?" You teased, standing up and going to the coffee-maker in the corner of his room. "Is it okay if I have the Earl Grey here?"
"Yeah, that's- that's fine," he nodded, swallowing hard. His pretty face was still contorted into confusion. You hopped up on the counter and made the tea with the teabags complimentary to the hotel. "Did you cheat?"
"Did I what?" You laughed again, leaning over so your forearms resting on your thighs. "You think I have tricks up my sleeve, Reid, I'm not even wearing sleeves."
"My IQ tells me you should have lost."
"You and your noble IQ," you blew on your tea. "Want some tea?"
He rubbed his temples and stood up, walking over tiredly. You hadn't noticed what he was wearing at all, you'd been too focused on the trivia. He was wearing flannel pyjama pants and a large sweater. It was the most casual you'd seen him before. "Orange Pekoe, please."
"Got it," you turned and made him a cup of tea with the machine. You'd never really hung out with Spencer before away from work. On the jets, you were always still surrounded by coworkers. Even though you were alone with him earlier, Garcia's presence was there. Now it was just you, Spencer, and the tension that wouldn't seem to lift. It was unexplainable- how it was still there. What was it really and why wouldn't it thin out? "Here you go."
Through handing him the tea, your hands touched and you pretended to be disgusted by it for a laugh, but he just exhaled sharply. Spencer sat on the edge of his bed facing you on the counter, sweater sleeves over his hands that held the mug, curls falling over his face.
Why was he always looking like he was solving math questions in his head? When he drank his tea, you drank yours. Why were you even still in his room at all... he hardly liked you, he just wanted to win and now that neither of you had, you were still here? It was a question for both you and him, but would this question come to a draw as well?
"I don't think I've mentioned how much I like your hair, Reid." You said out of the blue. "I think I've been too focused on kicking your ass in every way possible to properly compliment you."
"You've never kicked my ass physically, so you can't say in every possible way if you-"
"I was trying to compliment you but if you want me to actually get up and kick you in the ass, I will." You threatened playfully. Spencer grinned down at his tea. "I just think you have nice hair and I am very jealous it's not mine." You opened and shut your fingers like a pair of scissors.
Spencer straightened himself out and shook his hair out of his face. "I- thank you?"
You nodded, "You're welcome."
No more words were said until you both finished your tea. Why were you still here? Why didn't he ask you to go and why did he keep looking at you with thoughts in his eyes and why the hell did the tension keep building? What was it leading to?
Spencer eventually stood up and placed his mug in the sink next to yours, standing next to where you sat on the counter. You looked at him through a strand of your hair that had fallen in your face and you moved it to better understand. He mirrored you for a second, pushing his hair behind his ear as well before asking that one, fatal question. The one question he gave, knowing that if you lost, he had won and if you answered correctly, you had won. It was the unofficial, official ending to the game, but at a risk.
"In the 1830s, what scientifically gifted woman led to the coining of the term 'scientist,' because 'man of science' didn’t apply?" He asked, his eyes narrowing in. This was it... damn it, your brain was scrambled... as to why? Unexplainable.
"Mary..." you said, grasping at something you knew but it was clouded by something else you couldn't recognize. As if a clock was ticking, your heart was pounding. "Mary, her name was Mary..."
Spencer just stood there, right next to where you sat on the counter as you searched, racking every inch of your brain to find it. You couldn't give up or else he had won and you'd never hear the end of it and he wouldn't play cards with you and you wouldn't have an excuse to talk to him... wait, where did all those thoughts come from.
"Reid, I have it, I know it, I just-"
He looked at the watch on his wrist, his loose curls falling over his face again. Goddamnit, Spencer Reid... You only had seconds as Spencer counted down. Mary... Mary Smith... Mary So- Mary Somer... Mary Somerville.
"One, ze-"
"Mary Somerville!" You said, maybe a little too loudly. But you knew it was too late. Spencer had won. You sat there, looking at your hands for a moment while he stood there in what seemed like shock at his winning, but the odd tension still pressed, even with your loss. It seemed like Spencer felt it too because you looked up at each other at the exact same time and it was a silently-made mutual decision that led to both your lips and his crashing into the other person's.
It happened so quickly- you opened your knees to allow him closer, your hands on either side of his face, holding his jaw as you kissed him with the same power he kissed you. His hands on your waist and knee. So this was what the tension lead to, huh?
Kissing him from slightly above him gave you the advantage of kissing harder, which he easily allowed and returned. You slid your fingers back into his hair, the hair you had so awkwardly complimented. Of course, you understood yourself and your awkward comments about his hair because in reality, you meant 'please kiss me already'.
There was no noise other than the travelling of hands, short breaths, and lips on lips in the room and that sound was much better than the entire silence from the moment before. Hatred was never hatred, not even when it was mock hatred. It was always that pending feeling of hidden lust that shied behind mockery and mindset. And it was fucking hot.
He didn't protest when you broke the kiss to pull his sweater over his head. He didn't care when you gripped his shoulder and pulled his hair with the other hand. All this time you'd spend pretending to be rivals was being released into the air in the means of pheromones and you were all he really wanted then, there, now.
It was becoming messier by the second as you pulled your tank top over your head and tossed it aside like you did his sweater. His hands of course travelled upward to where they needed to be. You'd thought him inexperienced, but perhaps you were wrong.
"I fucking hate you," you mumbled against his lips and tugging his hair, a grin playing on your lips as he reached to untie the strings of his pants. He looked up for a moment, his eyes were half-lidded but determined.
"I hate y-you too," he managed the same grin and pulled you back into that same kiss he performed so vehemently. Oh, he was a mess. Spencer Reid would be the death of you. His long fingers moved delicately over your body, leaving goosebumps over your chest and the feeling of ice trails on your hot skin. You wrapped your legs around him, keeping him trapped and close.
Your lips left his mouth, trailing down his cheek, then his jaw, below his jaw. His breath was sharp and your lips were teasing. He smelled good, too. If only you'd figured out things were supposed to be this way sooner...
Poor Doctor Reid's hands were so cold compared to your body. You let them explore as you continued to kiss and lightly bite his neck. It was your turn to ask the question of risk, "Do you want this, Reid?"
He nodded more than he needed to, kissing you properly again. "Yes." A solid, strict, and determined- yet lust-filled yes. It was signal enough. Kissing led to touching and more touching lead to breathing harder. You doubted Spencer Reid was a virgin at all with the way he knew exactly where to touch...
He didn't even bother taking you to the bed that was six feet away from the counter. He didn't care and neither did you and it took him a second to actually get going, but once he did, everything fell right into place. His touch was soft, but his hips rough. You were breathing hard as he went, doing everything perfectly with his perfect body and his perfect hair right back in his face. He looked like hell, but in the best possible way.
Spencer Reid was, in fact, the death of you. Everything was in haze- breathing, kissing, touches, thrusts, trying to be as quiet as you could but small whimpers slipped from your lips and occasionally noises from him. Your nails in his shoulder and on his back as he practically fell to pieces in front of you, coming undone the same way you did only seconds later. You had to physically cover your mouth to stay quiet.
The air became ten times hotter when he rested his head on your bare shoulder, not even bothering to pull out. He was there, you were there... you had just fucked the man who you had pretended was your enemy and god, was it good. You were surprised that this had happened at all, it was so unbelievably unguessed earlier. You just wanted to win and your loss came to a prize anyway.
He took a second to recover, then kissed your shoulder which was unexpected and oddly sweet. You thought it was rivalry sex to diffuse tension, but that wasn't how it felt to you anymore and... maybe not to him either. Spencer pulled out, discarding protection and cleaning himself up a little. No words were spoken now as he put his pyjama pants back on and you fixed yourself up too, slipping your legs into your loose pants and tank top back over your head.
You took a cup that was belonging to the hotel and filled it with water, then you slipped off the counter and handed it to Spencer. When he took it, he looked just like you probably had when he had kissed your shoulder. "Thank you." He said, blinking a few times. Were things awkward for him now? Was he expecting you to leave, now?
"I can go if you want me to, Spencer," you said, pointing back at the door. "If I've overstayed, I'm sorry."
"N-no-" he blurted, nearly spitting his water out. "No, you haven't overstayed, I like you here- I just... I don't know how good that was and my mind is kind of everywhere because it happened so quickly and it was all so-so-so unexpected and I... wow."
He ran a hand through his hair frantically, his fingers shaking a little. There were those butterflies again...
"Spencer, it was good. It was more than good, holy fuck." You assured him, stepping closer. He set down the cup of water. "You did so well, I can hardly-" Your shaking knee gave out at just the right time and he caught you by your hands before you hit the ground. "See?"
He was smiling that shy, crooked grin. Everything was ten times sweeter now and it seemed like maybe you didn't really need to pretend to hate him anymore. It's much easier to humiliate, degrade and just generally shit all over someone than it is to admit that you like them. But here you were, looking up at him.
"I told you, Dr.Reid, that somewhere deep down, you liked me."
"Coworkers at worst," he reminded you jokingly.
"You just fucked me nearly senseless, I don't think 'coworkers at worst' works on me anymore." You grinned, reaching up to tuck his hair behind his ears. "Just kiss me again, Dr.Reid."
He didn't even hesitate to take your face in his hands, kissing you sweetly, a little different than earlier. This time he wasn't entirely frenzied by the rush and need to touch and grasp and this time, there was meaning... there was diffusion... and it was loving.
The only real issue was that tomorrow, both of you had to face a team full of profilers who would take greatly accurate guesses as to why you and Spencer suddenly got along.

Spin the bottle
This fills my JJ/Elle square for @cmbingo The team is in for an interesting night at Rossi’s.
It’s one of those nights that we are all hanging out at Rossi’s. We’ve all had a hard week and it’s nice to just relax. I glance across the room to Elle, who is my girlfriend. We agreed to keep it a secret for now. What I really want to do is go make out with her, but I can’t. She smiles at me, making me want her more.
Rossi walks into the room at that point. “I have alcohol.” He says. We all reach for it at the same time. After a couple of hours, we have all relaxed completely with help from the alcohol. “We should play spin the bottle.” I hear myself saying. “JJ, aren’t we a little old for that?” Spencer asks.
I chuckle and mess with Spencer’s hair. “We are never too old for spin the bottle.” I say. After about ten minutes, everyone except Spencer has agreed to play. We sit in a circle on the floor. We are all talking excitedly to each other. “Quiet people.” I say hyped for the game to get started. “When it lands on you, you can choose truth, dare, or kiss. It’s up to you.” I say.
I spin it to start and it lands on Hotch. He says dare and we decide to blind fold him until it lands on him again. After that, it lands on Elle. She gets up and walks over to me. She tilts my head up and gives me a gentle kiss. Rossi and Derek whistle. I blush.
We continue the game for a while. At some point, Elle decided to annoy me. Every time it landed on her, she kissed someone different. It’s starting to piss me off. I just want to kiss and make out with her and instead she's teasing me. It lands on me next. I choose kiss. I walk over to Elle and crash my lips on hers. It’s not a gentle kiss. It’s passionate and deep. When I finally pull away, everyone else is looking at us. I lean down and whisper in her ear “Mine.”
I walk back over and sit down without saying a word. Both of us are still trying to catch our breaths. I’m not usually the possessive one, but right now I just want her for myself. She has a huge smile on her face. “JJ, what was that about?” Spence asks since he's the only one with a clear head. “She’s my girlfriend and it was annoying me that she was kissing other people.” Elle blushes when I say that. “JJ, we agreed to keep it a secret!” She says with a laugh. At that point, everyone is giggling.
For the rest of the night, I sit next to Elle. I cuddle her and drop kisses on her lips at random times. None of us are sober enough to drive, so we all crash at Rossi’s for the night. I cuddle up to Elle and fall asleep quickly.
The next morning, I wake up curled around a sleeping Elle. I get up to go find aspirin. I have a headache from last night. I walk into the kitchen to find Rossi, Hotch, and Spencer sitting at the table. “Good morning. Rossi, please tell me you have aspirin somewhere?” I say. He tosses me a bottle. “So JJ, how long have you been seeing Elle?” Spencer asks. “Fuck. Did I really kiss her possessively last night?” I’m screwed. “Yeah, you did.” Spencer says. Rossi laughs and Hotch looks surprised. “How much do you remember about last night Hotch?” “Um, not much after we decided to play truth or dare.” He says. I sigh.
Elle, Derek, and Penelope walk into the kitchen at that point. “Elle, Spencer and Rossi remember last night, but Hotch doesn’t. Sadly we have to tell them again.” I say sadly. She laughs. Derek and Penelope are both confused. “JJ and I are dating. She kinda made out with me last night during truth or dare.” Elle says. I blush and hide my head in my hands. “This is so embarrassing.” I mumble. Elle walks over, pulls my hands away, and kisses me. “I’m not embarrassed. It just means I can kiss you when I want.” I kiss her passionately, glad that I can kiss her whenever now.

BLACKOUT | Ao3 / *FFN | A Criminal Minds fanfiction | Rating: Explicit | The first part of a two- to three-book series called Illuminate.
Genre: Tragedy / Angst / Dark / Crime / Mystery
BLACKOUT SUMMARY:
“I couldn’t protect him, Dave. Within half a year, I’ve failed him twice.” Aaron balanced his head onto his fingertips. “You didn’t fail him, Aaron. Not now, and not when Maeve was murdered. We’re a team; no one is at any greater fault than the other for what’s happened . . .” Aaron let out a heavy, lamenting sigh. “For this unsub—whatever the motivation was before, subjugating a law official is going to give him a transgressive high. Reid’s time with him—however short or long—is going to be unpleasant.”
Peculiarly dismembered men are unearthed in the forest, and the locals request the assistance of more experienced investigators. The profile is complex and mercurial, leaving the team without substantial evidence to work with. So they wait on their perpetrator to ignite a series of events that will supplement their data for assessment. They don’t foresee that data being one of their own. Darkness descends.
And yet.
---
ILLUMINATE SERIES SUMMARY: The depth of anguish that Spencer Reid falls into after Maeve is murdered seems so profound that those around him aren't sure they can help him find purchase on solid ground to walk again. Then an abyss opens its maw, swallows him, and hides him within its shadowy bowels. It seems the grace of light will never be able to reach him.
And yet.
---
SPOTIFY PLAYLIST This playlist isn't in any specific order. As mentioned for the playlist description, it depicts a spectrum of moods/scenes for the entire Illuminate series—from soothing to psychedelic, deranged to dazed, romantic to wrathful, anguished to ambitious—in the views of the protagonists, antagonists, and all who fall in between.
The genres are vast—from Alternative Indie to Folk music to Screamo/Rock Ballads, from Instrumental to Smooth Jazz to Electronic/Experimental, from original works to artist covers, from English to Japanese to French to Xhosa—and spans many decades.
Though some of the music is intended to pair with specific scenes and/or characters, I'll leave that to the listener, as portions can pertain to multiple scenarios and characters. Some of the music is intended for future events not yet unfurled in the series.
---
*Though the Blackout is complete on both AO3 and FFN, the FFN version doesn't have many key updates as of 2/24/23. Both versions will be going through an editing phase in the next month or two. It's highly recommended to read the AO3 version.

You want me?
Do you think you can do a hotch x Spencer where they adopt a child (or teen) with a disability? I don't know what else to put in because I dint really ask often so I hope this is enough 😔😔 I hope this is okay 😅 Thought a nice short and sweet fic would be nice. _________ Aaron looked at the young teenager who stood quietly in the door frame, her hands twitching slightly. The other children laughed as they interacted and played with the parents and couples that came to adopt. Aaron smiled and walked slowly over to her. "Hi there. My name is Aaron." He spoke with a smile and extended his hand out to her. The girls eyes widened at the sudden introduction. "H-Hello." She stuttered. A sudden jolt in her form suprised Aaron. Her arms began to twitch and her head slumpt forward and back up again. "I have a tic dissorder. If you're wondering." She spoke as she looked to the ground. "I have met a few people before with a tic dissorder." Aaron smiled as she finally rose her head to look at him. "Really?" She asked curiously. "Mmhmm" He nodded. "There you are! You just vanished." Spencer laughed as he made his way over to Aaron and linked his arm with his. "Hello. What's your name?" Spencer smiled as he focused on the teenager in front of him. "I'm y/n." "Nice to meet you y/n." Spencer smiled. "How come you aren't with the other kids?" Spencer asked. Y/n's tic jolted again violetly. "Because those families don't want me. They all want normal kids without any problems. They don't want someone like me." Both Aaron and Spencer could see the sadness in her face. "Well we like you. Don't we Aaron." Spencer squeezed Aaron's hand lightly. "We do." Aaron responded. Aaron smiled widely as he continued. "What do you say you come home with us? We will organise the paperwork. If thats what you want." "You...you want me?" Y/n asked in disbelief and poined at herself. Her arms jolting in the process. Both Aaron and Spencer nodded. "Who wouldn't like you y/n." "But I am weird. I will embarrass you in public." Y/n shook her head. "You could never embarrass us y/n. We like you for who you are." A tear dropped from y/n's face as she ran towards them both, embracing them in a hug. "I would love to come live with you." The both of them hugged her. "Well lets go get that paperwork then." ________ Y/n's arms jolted and shook as she walked over to everyone. Aaron and Spencer had invited their team around for dinner so they could all meet her. Garcia smiled as she saw her friends adopted daughter and embraced her in a squeezy hug. "You are just the most gorgeous thing I have ever seen!" Garcia yelled for the fith time and placed her hands on y/n's cheeks, pinching them slightly. Y/n laughed at the Garcia's excitement and hugged her back. "So how are you getting along with Jack?" Derek asked as he stood beside her. "Jack is awesome. I have always wanted a little brother." Y/n's head and arms jolted again, causing her to finish her conversation. "What age did you notice your tic dissorder?" Derek asked curiously. "Oh ummm...it was around when I was seven." Y/n jolted again and sighed. "The tic's get very annoying." Y/n felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up to see Aaron. "You can go to sleep if you need to. It's already one in the morning." He spoke quietly to her. "Yeah. I think I might." Y/n shook again. "I'm pretty tired." Y/n hugged Aaron and then quickly hugged Spencer too. "Are you going to bed?" Spencer asked as he hugged her back. Y/n nodded her head. "Okay. I promise to let you sleep in late. Spencer kissed her forehead and watched as y/n said her goodbye's and left. Aaron wrapped his arms around Spencer and kissed his cheek. Rossi chuckled at them both. "You two are wonderful parents already. I don't know what you were so worried about." Spencer snuggled closer to his boyfriend and smiled. "Thank you David."

Olden times
This fills my midevil square for @cmbingo
As I’m wandering the grounds of the castle, I see the gates open. Two soldiers pull a maiden in. Once the gate is closed, I walk over to her. “Your majesty, you should wait for your husband.” My husband Aaron, is the king and rules the land. Just because I can’t make any rules doesn’t mean I don’t advise my husband.
The girl looks young. She’s wearing a plain blue dress with a belt. She has leather handcuffs and is crying. I’m wearing a red dress with flare sleeves. My belt is adorned with silver and gold. I have a velvet pouch on. I look down at her. Then I turn and look at a soldier. “Why is she here?” “Your majesty, you really should wait for your husband.” I glare at him.
I know that they are not supposed to question me. I pull the dagger hidden in the dress out. I don’t do anything with it, just hold it. “Why is she here?” “She stole this.” He holds out a necklace with a large ruby surrounded by smaller ones. “Okay. Give me the necklace and her personal belongings. You may leave now.” They do as I ask.
A minute later, Aaron walks up. “Did you scare the soldiers again Jennifer?” I smile. “I couldn’t help it.” He gives me a quick kiss on the cheek. “What do we have here?” “A thief. I can deal with her.” He nods. “Good. I have plans to decide on. I will see you later.” He kisses my hand before walking away.
“What’s your name?” I address the girl for the first time. “Emily, your majesty.” She looks scared. I would be as well if I were her. I motion to a soldier and he comes over. “My chambers.” He nods “Yes your majesty.” He pulls Emily up and walks her into my room. He pushes her down into a chair and attaches her handcuffs to a bar at the back. “Thank you. You are dismissed.” “Thank you, your majesty.” He leaves and we sit in silence.
I get up and place the necklace and her personal belongings on my desk. I open her pouch to find a couple pieces of bread, a dagger, and a handkerchief. It has initials on it. I recognize them immediately. They are my sons. “I have an idea of what really happened. Why don’t you tell me what really happened.” I tell her kindly. “I’m so sorry your majesty. I know I shouldn’t have stolen it.”
I glare at her. “That’s not the truth.” I hold up the handkerchief with the initials showing. “I’m sorry.” She whispers. “You didn’t steal this did you? I’m guessing Derek gave it to you, but nobody believed you.” I stare at her. “Yes. It’s true, your majesty.” I pull a cord and my hand maiden Alex walks in. “Yes, your majesty?” “I need you to let Derek know I need to see him right away.” “Yes your majesty.”
“I’m going to take the handcuffs off. If you move from that chair, they will go back on. Do you understand?” “Yes your majesty.” I take the cuffs off and she places her hands in her lap. She’s twisting the fabric of her dress in her hands.
We sat in silence for five minutes. My door is knocked on. “Come in.” Derek walks in. “Hey mom, what’s so important?” I’m not looking forward to this part. “We have a situation that needs explaining.” He walks over to me and sees Emily. She doesn’t meet his eyes.
“Why is she here?” He growls. “Sit down Derek. She got accused of stealing this.” I hold up the necklace.”Mom, I gave her that. Over a month ago.” I nod. “I figured as much. We can’t just let things like this slide. You should know this by now.” He gulps. “I know, I’m sorry mom.”
I look at Emily. She looks scared. She’s covered in dirt and her hair is very tangled. I pull the cord and Alex walks in. “What can I do for you, your majesty?” “Take Emily to the bath and make her presentable. Give her one of the plain dresses you wear and bring her back to my room.” “Yes your majesty.” She escorts Emily out of the room.
Derek looks worried. “You’re going to punish her aren’t you?” I sigh. “I have to set an example. I’m not sure what to do yet. I need to talk to your father first. Go to your room and stay put until someone comes to get you.” “Okay. Please be nice.” He leaves and I sigh.
I walk to Aaron’s office and knock. The door opens and his servant comes out. “What can I do for you, your majesty?” “I need to speak to my husband about a pressing matter.” He walks back in. Five minutes later, most of his advisers leave. I walk in once the room is clear. His servant is still there. I nod at him. “You are dismissed.” He bows and leaves.
“Jennifer, what is going on?” “The thief from earlier, she and Derek are dating.” He’s pissed. “How the hell did this happen?” I shake my head. “I have no clue.” “Where are they now?” “Dereks in his room and the girl is getting cleaned up. Alex is with her. Aaron, how do we fix this?” “I’m not sure. Derek has always been promised to the next kingdom over. He’s supposed to help unite the kingdoms.”
At that moment, the door is knocked on. Aaron opens it. Alex walks in. “Your majesty, the girl is clean. I left her tied to the chair in your room.” “Thank you. Go wait in my room with her. No one else is allowed to talk to her.” “Yes your majesty.” She leaves.
“Jennifer, we can’t let this continue.” “I know. I have an idea on how she can pay off her debt to us.” “What is it?” “Have her work in the castle. Make it so she has a job in solitude and the only person she can talk to is Alex.” He nods slowly. “Do you think Alex would lie to you about her talking to Derek?” “No, I trust her. She’s been loyal for years. She knows if I find out she lied, it won’t just be her job on the line.” “Okay. Go talk to her. I’ll deal with Derek.” “Thanks honey, good luck.”
I head back to my room. Emily is tied to the chair she was in before. Alex is sitting on a chair in the corner. It’s a chair that I provided for her a while ago. When she sees me, she rises. “Your majesty, is there anything else I can help you with?” “Take a seat. I have a job for you.” “Yes your majesty.”
I turn and look at Emily. “Even if you weren’t completely aware of Derek's plans for the future, you should have know He wouldn’t be allowed to marry you.” “Yes your majesty.” “Here’s what’s going to happen. You are going to work in the laundry room. There is another girl there now. She will show you the ropes and will then be reassigned. The other girl working it is also being punished.  You are not allowed to talk to anyone other than Alex or I. Do you understand?”
“Yes your majesty.” She bows her head. “Alex, make sure you put the ankle cuff on her. You can show her to the laundry room and then return to your normal duties. We will discuss this more later.” “Of course, thank you, your majesty.” She and Emily both leave.
The chain the ankle cuff is attached to is long enough to reach the laundry room and the connected bedroom and bathroom. Meals will be brought to her. It’s the easiest punishment we have. It also doesn’t require much communication. My door is knocked on. “Come in.” Aaron walks in.
“She’s going to be in the laundry room with the ankle cuff on.” “Good choice. Derek is not happy. I tried to make him understand that this was for the best, but he doesn’t get it.” “It’s going to be hard for him for a little while. He’ll get through it and come out stronger.” “You’re right. I’m going to go to bed. Planning on joining me soon?” “Yes, I just have one more thing to do and then I’ll be there.”
After he leaves, I throw the bread that she has away. I put her dagger and the handkerchief in the safe in the room. I take the necklace and put it back in the family vault. Then I head to bed. Whatever else needs to be done can wait.

BAU Corporations
Part 2. This fills my jealousy square for @cmbingo
Part 1
“Hello Sean.” “Hello Aaron, we need to talk.” I sigh. “What do you want to talk about?” “The company. You know it’s supposed to be mine.” “Sean, I know you feel that way, but dad left it to me. Please understand that.” He rolls his eyes at me.
My door is knocked on. “Come in.” Penelope walks in. “Mr.Hotchner, your 11:30 appointment is here.” “Thank you. Tell them I will be out in just a minute.” “Yes sir.” Once the door closes behind her, we continue the conversation. “I have a meeting to start developing a new project. I hope you don’t mind.” “That’s fine.” “Feel free to walk around the building. We can have lunch at that Italian place you like at 1.” “Sure.” He walks out and I let out a breath of relief. Dealing with Sean is always hard.
I walk out to see Emily sitting there. “Come in Mrs.Prentiss.” She follows me into the office. We both sit down. “What did you want to talk to me about?” I’m on edge and I think she can tell. “I just wanted to tell you that I’ll take the job.” I slightly smile. “I am glad to hear it.” I hand her a file. “This is what the plan for the project is right now. Look it over and see what you think. Let me know what seems good and what needs to change.” “Thank you sir.” “Is there anything else I can help you with?” “No sir, that’s it.”
She leaves and Penelope walks in. “What’s up Penelope?” She frowns. “We have a problem.” I sigh in frustration. “Let me guess. It has something to do with Sean?” “Yes. He sent a letter to the board asking to take control of the company for you.” “Fuck.” She laughs. “They won’t let him have the company.” “I hope you’re right. This is going to be a bigger issue that his usual ones. I’m meeting him for lunch, so I should go.”
I walk slowly to the restaurant we are meeting at. I walk in to see Sean already sitting at a table. I walk over and sit down. I’m pissed at him. “Hey Aaron.” “Don’t you dare pretend everything is fine.” “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
I pull out my phone and open the letter he sent. Penelope forwarded it to me. “You need to relax Aaron. The company should be mine and this should make it happen.” “Sean, you’ve been jealous since I inherited the business. It’s time to let it go.” I glare at him.
“You know this was supposed to be mine. Dad changed it last minute to be yours.” I frown. I’ve never heard about this. “Why did he do that?” “Because he thought you were the perfect son. Not a screw up like me.” I shake my head. “I was a screw up as well. It took me a long time to get my act together.” He narrows his eyes. “Do you think that means anything?”
At that moment, the waitress comes to take our order. We order and sit in silence for a minute. “This company is rightfully mine. I will get it back no matter what it takes.” I sigh. “Can we please talk about something else?”
“Sure. How about that pretty woman who was waiting for you?” I groan. “She’s heading up a new project and she had some ideas to share with me.” “Sure.” Our food comes and we eat in silence. Once we are done and waiting for the bill, we talk again. “Sean, I think you should go back home soon. The company can run smoothly without you.” He scoffs. “Nope. I’m getting a hotel room and staying until the board makes a decision.””Okay, I need to leave to get to my next meeting.”
I get up and leave him to pay the bill. When I walk back towards my office, I can hear whispering. There’s always gossip when Sean comes. I’m used to it by now. I go back to my office and run my hands through my hair. Penelope walks in. “How’d it go?” “It was horrible. Plus he’s staying until the board makes a decision.” I’m exhausted mentally by now. “What’s left for today?” “You have one meeting and Mrs.Prentiss would like to talk to you at some point.” “Thanks Pen. I’ll head to the meeting room now.”
I head for the conference room. There’s no one else in it yet. I take a seat a little ways back. The meeting room fills up slowly. I nod as people say hello. I’m in my head right now. It’s not great for a meeting. The meeting starts and I find it hard to concentrate. I take notes and will go back over them later. If people notice I’m not concentrating, they don’t say a thing.
I head back to my office after the meeting. Now I just have to have a conversation with Emily and then I can relax. Penelope walks in once I sit down. She looks at me and frowns. “You need to take a break from all of this. Come have drinks with me and Morgan after work. It will be fun and a distraction.” I can’t believe I’m going to agree, but it will be a nice break. “Fine.” She cheers. “Now have your meeting with Mrs.Prentiss and then we can leave.” I eye her. “Did you finish your own work?” “Mostly.” I sigh “Go tell Mrs.Prentiss we can meet now and go do your work.” “Fine.”
She leaves and I look down at the papers on the desk. My phone dings. It’s an email from the board. They want to meet with me on Monday. I’m not happy about this. My door is knocked on. “Come in.” Emily walks in and takes a seat. “What can I help you with?” I’m on edge and she can tell. “Sir, are you alright?” “Yes, why wouldn’t I be?” I snap at her, but she doesn’t flinch or back down. “Okay, I looked over the file. I think there’s a lot of positive changes that can be made. Some of the things in the file are good and should be kept.” “Okay. Write up a document explaining what needs to be changed.” I glance up at her to see she has a puzzled expression.
“Mrs.Prentiss, I am okay. I’ll see you on Monday.” I’m short with her. “Sir, if you ever want to talk about anything, I’m willing to listen.” I take a deep breath. “My asshole brother is here.” I mutter. “Why is he an asshole?” “He’s jealous of me and wants to take the company that I’ve built over the past five years away from me.” She frowns. “Can he legally do that?” “No he can’t, but he’s not going to stop trying until he’s hit every dead end. This time, he found a huge way to make my life hell again.” “I’m sorry to hear that sir.” “Thank you. You are not allowed to talk about this to anyone.” “Yes sir.” “Good night Mrs.Prentiss.” “You too sir.” She leaves after that.
Penelope walks in. “You’re done, which means we can leave.” I groan. “Why did I agree to this?” “Because you looooovvvveee me.” I smile at her. I follow Penelope to the bar we’re going to. Once we park, she pulls me into the bar before I can back out. We find Morgan sitting at a small table with fries, wings, and a drink. “Hey babe.” He looks up and sees me. “Hey love, how was work?” “Fine. Now I want to get drunk and forget about everything.” I chuckle at that.
“You must be Aaron. It’s nice to meet you.” “You too.” “I’m going to go get a drink. Hotch, you need one as well.” I follow her to the bar. She gets a margarita and I get coke and rum.
The rest of the night is an adventure. Penelope gets super drunk, which I haven’t seen her do since college. I have a slight buzz. Derek is passed out on the floor. I wake Derek up and manage to get him to my car. Then I go back in and convince Penelope it’s time to go. I drive to my house. I don’t know where they live and I don’t feel like trying to figure it out right now.
I manage to get both of them into the house and to my spare room. It is not easy. They are finally both in the bed. I go to my own room and get ready for bed. I go to sleep quickly. I wake up early as usual. I go downstairs and make a pot of coffee. I start to make breakfast as I drink my coffee. When breakfast is almost ready, Derek comes walking down the stairs.
“Penelope still asleep?” “Yeah, what the hell happened last night?” I laugh. “You passed out at the bar and Penelope was super drunk. I didn’t know where you guys live. Neither of you was helpful with getting in my car last night. I figured getting an address out of you wouldn’t happen.” He laughs. “Yeah, I forgot how much I had to drink, but it must have been a lot.” We sit down to eat together.
About half an hour later, Penelope comes down the stairs. “Hotch, why are we here?” I laugh at her.  “You guys were a complete mess last night and I don’t know your address.” “Oh fuck. I’m so sorry Hotch.” “It’s fine. You can make it up to me by not asking me to come out with you for 2 months.” She pouts. “Fine. I’m going to take a shower.” She turns and walks back up the stairs.
Penelope has spent so much time at my house, that the guest bathroom has all of her favorite things for a shower. She’s kind of like the sister I never had. Me and Derek talk while Penelope takes her shower.
“Penelope has told me a little bit about you. What is it like owning the BAU corporations?” I sigh. He gives me a questioning look. “Usually I enjoy it. Right now my brother Sean is in town. He wants the company for himself.” I sigh and look down. “Is there a reason he thinks he should have it?” “When I first started, I didn’t want the business. He thinks that means I’m not qualified to run it. I love it now and I’m going to do whatever I can to keep it.”
Penelope comes back downstairs at that point. We eat breakfast and talk. Penelope teases me about Emily. Derek looks confused. Penelope, to my embarrassment, explains that I have a little bit of a crush on one of my employees. I try to defend myself, but it doesn’t work.
I walked into the office on Monday morning. I am not looking forward to today. Penelope stops me on the way in. “Sean and the company lawyer are already in there.” “Thanks.” I give myself a minute to relax and then walk in.
Sean looks pissed and the lawyer looks annoyed. “Mr.Hotchner, the board held a meeting about this matter today. Due to the contracts both you and Sean signed when your father passed, Sean has no legal right to the company. There is no reason to take this matter further.” I sigh in relief. “Thank you for letting me know.” I shake his hand and he leaves.
“I didn’t know they made you sign a contract as well.” “Well they did.” “Sean, why do you think the company should be yours so much?” I’m confused why he hasn’t dropped this beforehand. “Dad told me that I would inherit the company once he died. This was a year and a half before he died. When it was announced that you would inherit it, I was pissed. Dad had just died, so I couldn’t be mad at him. I could be mad at you for accepting it.”
I nod in understanding. “I’m sorry Sean. I didn’t know any of this at the time. We can’t go back and change the past. Hopefully we can begin to repair our relationship from here.” He nods. “I’m going home. I’ll let you know when I get there safely.” “Thanks. Have a good flight.”
Penelope walks in once he leaves. “How’d it go?” I sigh in relief. “Good. Sean is going home. The lawyer said that he has no legal right to the company.” “I’m glad.” “Me too. Now shoo. I have work to do.” She leaves and I get to work.
Emily’s POV
The past week has been a chaotic experience. Once I agreed to take on the eco project and wrote up a proposal, Mr.Hotchner gave me a team to help me implement my plan. It’s weird having people reporting to me. Mr.Hotchner hasn’t asked to meet with me in a while. I don’t understand why.
The next day, I walked into chaos. The plan we were trying to work on hit a huge snag. “How did this happen?” “We forgot to get the budget for this approved and now we can’t order anything until it gets approved.” “Okay. I will talk to Mr.Hotchner today and see if I can get it approved.”
With that problem solved, I go back to my office. I sit down and switch my computer on. An email from my dad pops up. Fuck. What can he possibly want now? I open it to see he wants money like always. I close it and the tears start. I give myself five minutes. Then I pull myself together.
I walk to Mr.Hotchner office and ask his secretary if he’s busy. She lets him know I’m here and says I can go in. I walk in to see him sitting at his desk. I take a seat across from him. “What can I help you with Mrs.Prentiss?” He asks. “I need to get a budget approved.” My voice breaks and he can tell. “Emily, what’s wrong?”

BAU Corporations
My next entry for @cmbingo. This fills my business au square.
part 2
I stand up and stretch from my desk. I walk to the glass window overlooking the city. I’m the CEO of BAU corporations. My father started the company twenty years ago. When he died, I inherited the business. I didn’t want the business to start with. I got used to the lifestyle and what the expectations with the job were. It’s been five years since I became CEO. The company has broken many sales records since I took over. Most people think that all I care about is money.
My door is knocked on. “Come in.” My secretary Penelope walks in. “Hotch, your 10:00 interview is here.” “Thank you. You can send her in.” Penelope leaves. I take a seat behind my desk. The door is knocked on again. “Come in.” A petite woman with blond hair walks in. “Helly Mrs.Jareau please take a seat.” She hesitantly takes a seat and leans away from me. “Do you have a problem with me mrs.Jareau?” I make eye contact and she quickly looks away. “No sir.” She’s scared and I can tell. I’ve been through too many employees to not know the signs.
“Mrs.Jareau, this is only going to work if you are honest with me. Now, what is the issue?” She scoots back on the chair as far as she can. “I’m sorry sir. It’s just that…” I stare at her. “Just what? I don’t have all day.” I’m annoyed at this woman I hardly know. Unless she can turn it around in the next five minutes, she’s not getting the job. “I’m sorry sir. I just admire you.” I glance at her. I know that she won’t fit in with our team the moment she says that. “I’m sorry Mrs.Jareau, but I don’t think you’re the right fit for the job.” She looks sad. I push a button and Penelope opens the door.
“You don’t have another interview for half an hour Hotch.” I nod. “Thanks.” She closes the door. Penelope is the only person whose first name I use. She’s also the only one allowed to call me Hotch. She was my best friend in college. When I took over, she didn’t have a job, so I hired her on the spot. It took a little convincing for her to be my secretary. There were a couple other women doing it before her and she would get mad about it. She finally decided to do the job herself.
I spent the half hour working on a pitch for our next meeting. I’m trying to hire someone with new ideas that fits with the team. My team respects me and knows what I expect. When they don’t finish the work they were given, I give them some stupid punishment like not being allowed some privilege they had earned in the past.
My door is knocked on. “Come in.” Penelope walks in. “Hey, your next interview is here.” “Thanks. You can send them in.” I sigh when she leaves. A woman with black hair walks in. “Did I tell you you could come in?” I glare at her. “Your secretary said I could come in. I didn’t think I needed to ask again.” She holds my gaze as she says this. “Have a seat Mrs.Prentiss.” She sits, her hands resting on my desk. “What makes you think you can do this job?” “I’ve been working in the industry for years. I’ve traveled all over the world and have contacts that can help me.”
I glare at her. “Are you trying to brag Mrs.Prentiss?” “No sir, I’m sorry sir.” I nod. “What do you think of the eco project we’re beginning?” I’m curious about her. “In all honesty, it’s crap.” I raise my eyebrows. “You want to be eco friendly, but you’re not changing anything in your company. You need to change something to make it real.” She sits in silence realizing she just insulted my business. “Mrs.Prentiss, I am unfortunately out of time for today. I pick up a file that no one but me has seen. “I want to see you back here on Monday at 7 sharp. Look over this and write up a report on it.” I hand her the folder. “Thank you sir.” I open the door for her.
I close the door behind her and Penelope walks in. “You walked her to the door Hotch.” “Yeah, I think I’m going to hire her. I gave her a file to look over. It’s a fake project, but I want to see how she does with it before I offer her the job. You can cancel the rest of the interviews.” She smiles. “This means you can be done early and come out for drinks with me and Morgan.”
Penelope has been trying to convince me to go out for drinks with her and her boyfriend for months. I don’t like social situations, which is why I didn’t like this job to start with. “Pen, I have work to finish today.” She sighs. “Fine Hotch. Only because you found someone to hire. Don’t forget I know the one thing that will always make you come with.” She laughs. I groan. “I shouldn’t have told you that.” “Too bad.” I flip her off as she leaves and she just laughs at me.
I finished the pitch I was working on earlier. Once I’m done, I pull up Emily Prentiss’ file. I click on it and open it. It has a lot of information in it. She signed forms giving us access to all of it. Her school transcripts could have been better. She has places with lots of absences. She got good grades even with missing school. She has a business degree and a minor in psychology and Spanish. It’s something I wouldn’t have thought of.
I look at her background check. Her adult life has been clean. Yet she has a juvenile record. She got arrested for stealing food. She said it was for her and her mom. She was given probation and had been clean since then. There was also a sealed case report. I decided to not look at that.
I push a button and Penelope comes in. “Penelope, when Mrs.Prentiss gets her on Monday, have her change into the required outfit.” She nods. The required outfit is a white button up shirt, a red tie, a black blazer with the company logo on it. There is a black skirt or black slacks. The shoes are all black dress shoes. If you are wearing a skirt, you must wear the white knee high socks as well. Your hair must always be secured out of your face. I go home to an empty house again. All I’ve focused on for the past five years is my job.
The next Monday at 7:30, my door is knocked on. “Come in.” Emily walks in. Her tie is not tied and shoved into the blazer pocket. The blazer is hanging over her arm. She has a pair of black slacks on and the correct shoes. Her hair lays in long waves over one side of her face. “Here’s your file.” “Take a seat.” I look over the report and am very happy at how she did. “You got the job.” I state. “Thank you sir.” She gets up to leave. “Mrs.Prentiss, we are not done here.”
She sits back down and pouts. The pout gives me butterflies. “Mrs.Prentiss, your uniform is not worn correctly. Fix it or I will fix it for you.” She doesn’t move. I give her five minutes. “Fine. I thought we weren’t going to have this problem. I noticed it a little on Friday, but I was hoping I was wrong. Stand up.” She does. She set her blazer on the desk. I pull the tie out and lift her collar. I tie the tie in place and start to take her hair in my hands. She jumps away from me. “What the fuck.” I frown at her. “I gave you the chance to do it yourself. Now, your hair has to be pulled back. For now, I’m going to put it in a ponytail.” I take her hair again and she shudders, but let’s me do it. I then hold out the blazer for her to put on.
“Mrs.Prentiss, are we going to have a problem with your uniform in the future?” “No sir.” The door is knocked on. “Sir, I’m ready if she is.” “Prentiss, this is who you will be reporting to. This is Alex Blake.” Emily nods. Alex gives her a glare. “I understand sir.” I nod. “Mrs.Blake, I want a report of her progress at the end of the day.” “Yes sir.” I excuse both of them.
Emily’s POV
I follow Alex out of the room. We walk down a few hallways. She leads me into a room broker up into cubicles with one private room. I follow her to the furthest cubicle from the door. “This is your desk.If you don’t behave. You will lose privileges.” “Okay.” She sighs but let’s it go. Alex leaves me to get settled.
Hotch touching my hair really bothered me. I thought that things were maybe getting better. My dad used to come home from his day job and hit me and my mother. I left home as soon as I could. I haven’t had a man touch my hair since then.
I get to work on the file on my desk. Alex walks in at the end of the day. “How did it go?” “Pretty well.” I hand her the file. She opens it and flips through it. “This is good, but not great. I’ll give you some pointers. Also mr.Hotchner wants to see you in his office at 7 tomorrow.” I nod.
Hotch's POV
Tuesday morning, my door is knocked on. “Come in.” Emily walks into my office. “I heard you wanted to see me sir.” I can hear the annoyance in her voice. I give her a once over. Her tie still isn’t on. Her hair isn’t pulled back, just her bangs are pinned back. “Mrs.Prentiss, fix your uniform.” She puts the tie on, but doesn’t touch her hair. “Your hair needs to be tied back.” She slowly does it. I hand her a file. “Look this over. I want it revised and returned to me by the end of the day.” “Yes sir.” “You can go now Mrs.Prentiss.” She gets up and leaves.
Penelope walks in two minutes later. “Hotch, what did you do to that poor girl?” I glare at her. “Pen, she needs to learn the rules.” “Give her a break. It’s her second day. What happened?” I sigh. She knows me too well. “Nothing.” She sticks her tongue out at me. “I know something happened, so tell me.” “Have I ever told you how much I hate you?” She laughs at me.
I sigh. “Fine. Sean’s coming.” “I’m sorry Hotch. I know how hard that is for you.” I nod. “He still believes that I stole the company from him. He should be here on Friday.” She puts her hand on mine. “I’ll make sure someone picks him up at the airport and brings him straight to your office.” “You’re the best Penelope, now I have work to do.” She smiles and leaves.
I spend the rest of the day going over briefings from meetings I had yesterday. I take notes on what I want to revisit and what just needs to be finalized. At 5:30, my door is knocked on. “Come in.” Emily walks in and hands me the file.
“Take a seat.” I can tell that she’s tense. I read over her report. “You have a knack for this. This file and yesterday’s were tests for me to see how you would do.” She seems confused. “I want you to be in charge of the eco project.” Her jaw drops. “You will give me weekly updates. Before you make changes, you need to get my approval.” “T-thank you sir. Can I ask, why are you letting me be in charge?” She’s skeptical. “You’re willing to take risks. You called me out on the first day. You’re willing to speak your mind and I think you can make this a great project.” She’s stunned. “Here’s my card. Give it some thought. Tomorrow you can work on other projects that have already started to be developed. Let me know what you decide.” “Thank you sir.”
She lets herself out. Penelope comes in. “I thought you had left for the night?” She glares at me. “What?” “Did you apologize to her?” “No, I didn’t. I know I should have, but I couldn’t do it.” She shakes her head. “Hotch, you need to cut her some slack.” I shrug. “She’ll be fine. I just gave her the eco project.”
She gasps. “I thought you said that was done and you were going to move on to rollout.” “Well, she called my bull.” I slightly smile. “You like her don’t you.” I blush. “Shut up Penelope.” “Hahaha, okay, I’ll see you tomorrow boss.” I shake my head as she leaves.
Friday comes all too soon. Emily still hasn’t given me an answer. I really want her to do it. She would be great at it. Sean should be here soon and I’m not looking forward to it. Penelope texts me that he’s landed. I groan. Time to be an adult and play nice. He gets here half an hour later. My door is knocked on. “Come in.” Sean walks in.
“Hello Sean.” “Hello Aaron, we need to talk.”
