Abducted is a solo or co-op story-telling tabletop role-playing game that places players in the shoes of a human character who has been abruptly abducted by an alien race.
Players create both their human character and their alien character, determining their characteristics and motivations, and then utilize a deck of playing cards, with corresponding in-game tables, as prompts to progress the story forward.
As the game unfolds, players journal their experiences in first-person, chronicling their struggles to understand and communicate with their alien captors, their attempts to escape, and the emotional toll of being forcibly removed from their home planet.
With each draw of the deck, players are presented with new challenges and opportunities, and must use their wit, cunning, empathy, or aggression to navigate the alien environment they find themselves in. Abducted is a game that tests players' ability to think creatively, empathize deeply, and write compelling narratives as they craft their own unique stories of survival in a world that is completely foreign to them.
(Co-op rules for 1 human and 1 alien player are included!)
The game is available now for FREE on itch.io:

Inktober 26: Remove
GUYS, THE THERMAL DRILL, GO GET IT
Payday gang's all here, plus cloakers in ambush. One of them should probably move.
You see, we are janitors. We remove those unsightly piles of gold and cash cluttering up your vault, leaving them spotless and tidy for your convenience. Feel free to redecorate, now that you have the space.
Inspired by the cover art for R6 Siege

Videogames I wish were real #75
A hectic co-op game where you and your friends go trick or treating in a neighborhood. Before the start of each game everyone gets to pick their costume. More than one player can wear the same costume, but beware, for if someone has already given candy to a vampire, the second or third vampires that knock on their door might get less candy, or be accused of having already visited that house. Each map is randomly generated, and a costume that might work well in one neighborhood might not be very successful in another (a kraken costume in a seaside town will be a hit, but dressing up as an obscure anime character in an old residential neighborhood might generate more questions than candy).
All levels have powerups scattered around that will allow you to switch costumes, double your candy for a certain amount of time, or point you towards the houses that are currently giving out more candy. However, all levels will also have obstacles, such as overzealous parents that will immobilize you for several seconds while they insist you wear a jacket, neighbors with a vendetta against candy that will take some of your hard earned sweets and trade them for toothpaste, or feisty dogs you will have to outrun.
Once the timer runs out, whoever has managed to amass the biggest mountain of candy will be crowned as the candy champion.

bg3 has quickly become my favourite game and this screenshot means the absolute world to me ive always wanted to play d&d but never had a chance to due to social anxiety and the friends/family i grew up around finding anything like that to be 'cringe' and responding grossly to stuff like live action roleplay, d&d campaigns and ren fairs. so grateful that i could finally have the d&d campaign experience i always dreamed of with my best friend @vigodraws i finally feel confident enough to tackle the anxiety surrounding IRL campaigns and hope to one day join in with a group of friendly like-minded people - without the fear of judgement from people that don't know how to have a good time lol ngl bg3 changed my life

Okay, I gotta ask, am I the only one who thinks Resident Evil 5 and 6 weren't that bad...?
Like, okay, yes there was a tonal departure and as far as 6 goes it was a little too far out from the shoreline in that regard. But...like...
Those games were actually amazing.
I think I played RE5 10+ times with my best friend throughout my childhood. There has NEVER been a game I've done that with since, besides Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3.
I absolutely fucking loathe this feeling/opinion that Co-Op and action doesn't belong in horror games. It doesn't belong in every horror game, but it absolutely does not deserve to be vilified and shunned out of the genre.
Yes, it is scary when you're completely defenseless and your only option is to run and hide. But it's also scary when you're running low on bullets and you have to make every single shot count. Encounters being limited to just running or hiding is...restraining, bordering on boring at times.
It's scary when you enter a low visibility area that's dark or foggy and your range suddenly means nothing.
It's scary when you realize you just emptied an entire mag of ammo into an enemy or a corpse because you panicked.
Suddenly there's an enemy that you can't kill with your previously established means and you have to juggle your pursuer alongside other enemy types.
Maybe there's an enemy variant that will instantly kill you if it reaches you, invoking a primordial fear every time you hear or see it.
It's scary when your Co-Op partner sees or hears something that's not there. Or they get downed and now their life is on the line placing you under immense pressure. Or if there's a section where you're separated from eachother and you're forced to be on your own away from the comfort that is having a friend to watch your back...
That level of control the game gives you and then takes away makes it more scary.
Suddenly it's all up to you to handle whatever monstrosity appears rather than just avoid it. That level of control that "action" gives you in horror games exists to be twisted and broken to scare you.
A good horror game can have Co-Op and action in it and still be scary. A good horror game uses those to its own benefit.
I mean, one of the only good parts about Dead Space 3 was the way they played around with hallucinations in Co-Op.
And I mean...like...come on. I need games to play with my friends. Co-Op or multiplayer shouldn't be forced into every game, but, it also shouldn't be preemptively written off or gouged out because it can be done well.

Update: Made a huge improvement to the way the player character is lit in dark areas. 💡
Self-shadowing was far too extreme to have enabled when using a spotlight from top-down view, as large hats would result in the player's body being nearly unlit.
I've also updated cloth and skin materials so now the model is more evenly lit no matter how you spin the camera, even if there are no other lights in the environment illuminating the player.
Besides looking better aesthetically, this enhancement was also an improvement to gameplay because it's easier to read your character's animations now that they're never fully obscured by shadows.
Another bonus is that this is more efficient than the previous system with more shadows that looked worse.

Over a full month since my last update. Time really does fly by doesn't it?
For those who I've left cliff hanging, I intend to continue developing Indie Tourney III. July was a busy month. A combination of my new summer job, family events, my first time fighting in Art Fight. Soon, I'll be moving into college too. I cannot make concrete promises on a start date, but I am estimating to have the map complete (and the tourney started) near the end of August. I know for a fact that the finished map will likely look like this, a sketch. Rendering the whole thing in color would be a recipe for insanity :')
Now... what's new?
Logic & Optics - Being the mystic island of puzzles with mysterious origins, naturally many of these structures are uninhabited and showing their age. Landscapes from all the four representatives are present, from line-tracing panels, to the Workshop's infernal machinery, to the towering cubic village, and the perspective-bended monuments. Paired together, they fill the island with an aura of grandeur, attracting adventurers both hardened and new, but all sharing an appetite for ingenuity.
Team-Building Exercises - Welcome to The Co-op Campgrounds! A fusion of both your classic camp away spots and jungle-style training grounds, complete with log cabins, watchtowers, and a soccer field. As a boot camp for Co-op play, every aspect has been designed to include an essence of companionship and teamwork. You'll need to communicate closely with your partner to ring the bell at each course's end. The same goes for the sports events that put your skills to the test! You'll be sleeping together in bunks too, a perfect time to come up with activities of comradery on your own! Not to worry, the warden tents are always open to share your state of mind or report the trolls of fellow campers.
