One of my seniors brought an iced chai latte thing with foam, and cinnamon, and who knows what else to class this morning, and everyone- including me- was like, “I don’t know what that is, but I want one!”
I didn’t get one, but I did end up getting a caramel frappe on my way home.
It was a pretty easy teaching day for me. My GOV students had read Federalist 78 for homework, so I started class by discussing that with them, and I was pretty happy about how well they’d grasped Hamilton’s points. They had answers for every question I asked them. It was great. Afterwards, I assigned a bit of research on the SCOTUS cases that are required for the AP exam (I put slips of paper with the names of the cases into a bag and had each student draw a slip at random). I answered a handful of questions, and walked around to eyeball their work every ten minutes or so, but otherwise I used the time to get some things together for upcoming lessons in both GOV and World.
Like I said: it was a pretty easy teaching day.
And it was a pretty great coaching day. It was the last day of indoor track for the boys team (tomorrow for the girls team), so we did a little mini competition: 40m sprints, stairs, standing broad jump. The Head Coach also shared the news that the spring season is looking like it’ll be a total go. The AD sent out the competition schedule the other day, practices will begin March 29th, sign-ups will be a week or two before that. That got everyone pretty excited.
I’ve been saying to a lot of people lately (family members, teacher friends in districts that are just now opening, other friends who are curious about what my year’s been like) that it’s wild how close to normal things are. Like, yeah, we’re wearing masks and social distancing, and there are some things we can’t do, and there are still students/staff who have to quarantine every now and then… but teaching and learning are happening, classes are going well, students are participating in their extracurriculars, student council is planning the next spirit week, they’re even starting to talk about graduation.
The pandemic is ever-present, but there’s still life being lived here, you know? We’re all finding a way.
Sometimes, I even think we’re thriving.

👉 It is What it is, What it is.
How many times have you heard this phrase?
We all hear this on a daily basis and in many different scenarios but you know What, it is What it is.
STOP THE MADNESS now!
🔥 It is not What it is.
🔥 It may not be How it should be
…and it needs to STOP.
You need to stop whatever it is in its tracks and DON’T be afraid to:

How to be free?
Many don’t even realize that they are held captive in their own prison. How we define happiness usually are the chains that keep us bound. The “gathering” process we use to define said happiness. Possessions and places in our external world. New material things like houses, cars, jobs, toys, and even spouses. Trips to exotic places to get away from the everyday boredom.
These beliefs keep us in prison away from true happiness. From a sustainable happiness.
To truly help others be free, we have to first understand what holds us captive and release our own chains. Though there can be many chains that hold us, the main one is within our our thoughts. The ones that keep us from a true sustainable happiness.
Our Limiting Beliefs
The beliefs of the Ego. The belief of hiding vulnerability. The belief of acceptance from others. The belief that we have to be someone we are not. The belief we are not worthy. And so many more.
We have to learn to identify each and every chain that binds us and then we can start to cut them loose and free ourselves before we can truly help others.
As long as we are bound, we will unconsciously help others bind themselves with the same limiting beliefs we share.
Challenge all your beliefs. Discover the ones that are holding you down. Replace them with new ones that will free you. You are the warden to your own prison if you use your power. Otherwise, you just stay the prisoner.
To help others reach freedom, learn to free yourself first.
If this reached you or there was something that truly resonated with you, please like and share in hopes this will maybe reach someone that it could help.

In parte è…

💐 In The Name Of Allah The Most Gracious The Most Merciful
💌 If you wish to be happy, don’t do the following:
Don’t think Allah hates you when “friends” start disappearing.
Allah may have answered some of your supplications
By keeping you away from those with bad intentions,
Who sabotage themselves through lying and gossiping.
Don’t prefer love music to daily Qur'an reading.
To strengthen your faith/Imaan, read the Qur'an often.
Don’t admire dancers who are talented at dancing.
Look up to the pious who obtain peace through praying,
As their souls rest through frequent Qur'an recitation.
Don’t wish you could afford luxurious cars and mansions,
Frequently traveling and dining at restaurants.
Not being so wealthy is actually a blessing,
When you recall that worldly joys aren’t permanent,
And the poor enter Jannah before the rich Muslims.
Don’t compare your current gifts to someone’s achievements.
Don’t assume you’re the only soul prone to suffering.
Don’t forget refugees worldwide, the orphaned children,
Men with mountains of debts, and women who lost husbands.
Don’t guess life is useless due to stress or depression.
To be happy on the inside, embrace contentment.
Always thank Allah that He chose you to be Muslim.
Be grateful and patient with what Allah has destined,
Aware that Allah knows what’s best for your well-being.
Patiently never quit till you reach Jannah’s entrance.
