I realise I've shared Sezha without actually Sharing Sezha so behold, my boy
I've been having so much fun with this section of the lair, and I am a lore / story-building lair despite the actual lack of public lore, so have some rambles regarding him and his section of the lair below as I scream into the void about him q wq
warning: this is a hot mess of rambles
The acolytes are all 'new age' beasties compared to the rest of the lair, so younger sprites with smaller energy than the wizened elementals or eldritch critters from Oasis or Deepwoods. They first emerged from the far roots of the Deepwoods, tainted by the magics of the Solstice Trio, and as such are still bound to lands corrupted by the forest above. They're cave-dwelling creatures with albinistic traits, but all streaked with peacock tones from Solstice influence. As a whole, they're quick to act and quick to forgive, often tumbling into wild tousles out of nowhere due to some innate itch.
They're primal in a way that defies their age, acting on core instinct above logic at most times. The entire lair is curated by their instincts as well, tunnels burrowed to keep nails and sometimes teeth in shape due to their specific diet ( tainted fungi and roots from the forest ) causing some reactions to some reverting to more beastly forms than they started. Most of the Acolytes spend their time... pretty much having the time of their lives. Short lives, but still. They curate moss ( so much moss, ) sculpt sections out of the limestone to show praise to the Solstice ( which leads to ornate tunnels winding with scale-like patterns carved into the walls for most of the lair, ) and they eat their weight in plump mushrooms and ichor-tainted roots. There's nothing to complain for since they have their every need met for the time being, until something monumental changes they're more than happy to continue their strange little life below the ground.
Sezha is the lair curator -- the one that plans new winding tunnels or cellars for different types of jewel-toned mushroom growths, and decides the final colour palettes for new artistic projects run by Seiph and pong ( who are both equally as passionate about ensuring the subterranean lair is as beautiful as it is sustainable. ) He often spends his time ripping through the tunnels at full tilt, knowing the lair so well that he can whip past daintier sections of their artistic 'venture' into the depths without so much as rustling the daintiest of fungi. His body is more stoat-like than anything else, modified and specialised for this way of life away from the air, his feathery wings often just used for emoting rather than ever catching air beneath them.
When not 'working,' he spends a lot of his time breeding silkmoths, the colonies able to sustain some of their trades with the other branches of their alliance, but it's mostly just something he enjoys doing. Cocoons are often found tucked into his dense fur or strung carefully on wires and tucked into the crooks of his wings for safety. When a new fungi colony is settled into a new lair section, Sezha will often have plans made for new moth colonies to introduce.
He's meticulous about keeping himself tidy, often idly grooming his fur and feathers while discussing matters with other Acolytes. Most of the cave network have walls bound with marble rather than dusty stones or raw earth for that reason. His body is often painted with gold pigments, making him shine under glowlights and sparkle while streaking past.
The only time the Acolytes are able to properly leave their den is during the Solstice's wake, which lasts about two weeks in summer and winter. All four of these are usually a time for Sezha to simply exist and watch life continue above the surface, to enjoy the tones outside of his normal reach, and to memorise as much of it as he could to inspire him for the next six months of work.
BIG MESS OF RAMBLING but I love he so much, I love this section of the lair so much, they're all just literal goblin energy beans that love to make things pretty and consider themselves artists but half the time it's just hyper-fixation and so much needs to be knocked down and redone constantly like a giant ouroborous of cave networks. They dance and gnash teeth, create, destroy, worship, and repeat.
maybe some day I'll actually get my lair lore out properly but it's literally a 3-saga thing at this point because 3-generations of lair heads RIP.

Again not a dungeon meshi reader/watcher but every time I hear about that laois guy I get reminded of how my system had/has a hyperfixation on dragons so intense that we got that big fancy dragonology book and we treated it like the damn dragon Bible for like years
Now, obviously, we understand that there's different interpretations on mythical creatures, and no one interpretation on a dragon is necessarily gospel, but that multiple interpretations on the classic tale of beasts of scale and fire are completely valid and to be expected!
however if you call an Eastern dragon a coatl I'm going to come to your house and slaughter your family
#THEY'RE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT#yes they have similarities but coatls have WINGS typically and dont usually have other limbs. they're more serpentine birds#meanwhile Eastern dragons (Chinese depictions for example) don't typically have wings and are more lizard-like#like Mushu !!!!!!!! Mushu is an Eastern dragon#and then there's drakes and wyrms. which are entirely different bc they can't really fly#drakes are more like draconic horses or dogs. no wings but four limbs and a tail with a reptilian appearance#wyrms are more serpentine with no limbs and no wings. though i think some interpretations of wyrms give them like.. two forelimbs#then there's wyverns. wyverns have two legs and two wings instead of the typical eight limbs (four limbs two wings)#(i also perosnally hold true to the interpretation of wyverns with poisonous stingers for tails but that's just me cause i think its cool)#..... how much of this is just me talking abiut dragons#explodes.#oh yeah and obv there's the HTTYD interpretations which i adore! they're interesting#the designs are so fascinating and from what ive seen seem to have some science behind them#and arent just the typical western style of dragons. which nothing wrong with the western style it's a classic ofc#but it's still fun to see some variation!!#and ofc there's WOF#which holds true to Western dragons in simple anatomy but has its own variations and of course its own lore#then there's. fuck i forget the name but it's a fantasy story based in China i believe#i loved it so much it was so cool#anyways it had a dragon character named Seryu. I love Seryu. he my favorite#anyways i liked the interpretation of dragons there bc iirc it held true to ummmmm some Chinese mythology involving dragons#cause Eastern mythology of drahons is . so much diffetent than Western#Western dragons are commonly very monstrous creatures‚ usually very animalistic#they tend to embody the Christian concept of greed/gluttony hence why they're so typically monstrous/villainous#which i find interesting but i wont get into that#meanwhile. i wanna say Eastern dragon legends more revolve around the idea of a dragon as more of a godly/fae-type creature?#that's probably a poor comparison but that's how i interpreted it. agian im probahly wronf about all of this#im some weirdo rambling about dragons on the internet. dont trust me explicitly#i need to get more dragon mythology books#HELP I REACHED THE TAG LIMIT I DIDNT THINK THAT WAS POSSIBLE GOOD LORD OKAY I'LL SHUT UP NOW

I was thinking about character interactions (as per usual) and decided out of curiosity to check some size differences and. I completely forgot that banes are that tiny. Why did nobody remind me that banes are so itty bitty. like. comparatively, anyway,
Tumblr media
in all fairness yes ridgies are massive, but good lird i'm. giggling. because the proposed way that these two met was skark (the ridge) biting sprog (the bane). in my head they were around the same size so I just imagined skark chomping onto his shoulder or something but this has me realizing that. more accurately. skark could've just Picked sprog up and fuckin ATE him with this size difference. my goodness
also here's the site i used to map this out

hey if you don’t mind, I’ve become interested in flight rising, but I’m kinda confused on how to start, so if you’re fine with this, could you explain on how to start? Thanks :3
No problem! I will do my best to try and explaining. Dropping under read more while i sit here and ramble for a bit.
So to start off, you wanna pick what flight you want to join. You can choose based on aesthetic, lore, etc. but know that the main function and the only thing this choice really has an affect on is what eye-type/element your progenitors and dragons you hatch from your nests will be. The choice in flight won't limit any other site functions, aside from flight specific forums and auctions. So there's no pressure for picking a 'best' flight. Just pick which one you like the most.
And if you're still not sure, don't worry because it's not a permanent decision. You can always change your flight later (the first change is free, but subsequent changes after will cost 1500 gems, the premium currency of the game. But you can do this as many times as you like, the only real restriction is the 6 month cool down before you can change it again).
After picking your flight, you can now make your first dragon, which will be your custom progenitor.
You can pick between any of the 4 plentiful breeds: Fae, Guardian, Mirror, or Tundra. And you can pick the primary and secondary color for your dragon (primary being the main body's color, and secondary being the wing's color), the tertiary (accents color) will be randomly picked after you complete your dragon.
While your choices here mater a little bit more, once again a lot of the choices made here can be changed later. The biggest thing is picking colors you really like, since there is no way to change a dragon's colors without a premium currency item that completely randomizes all 3 of it's current colors. Which can give you better or worse results.
Other than that, you can change it to any of the other available dragon breeds on the site (the one exception being imperials, as they are a kickstarter breed thus their scrolls are not easily available, if ever at all). You can give it all sorts of different genes, and you can even change the pose of the dragon. the only thing you CAN'T change on a dragon is the eye color/element of the dragon, which will be picked by your starting flight. Though you can change the eye 'type' (cosmetic style of the eyes).
After making your first progenitor, the game will give you your 2nd one, which is completely randomized (withing the same restrictions as the custom). This is your random progenitor, and is the game's way of giving you your first breeding pair of dragons (though you don't have to actually breed them if you don't want to, up to you).
Afterwards, you're free to access any of the site's functions and get started playing.
One thing i like to recommend to new players is going to your account settings and turning on selective feed style (located towards the bottom of the settings):
Tumblr media
This is an INCREDIBLY helpful setting for managing food supplies, since the rng for general feed can get pretty greedy, and a lot of times you'll have dragons with varied diets prioritizing eating food that might be the only type certain dragons can eat, and will leave them unfed as the other dragons eat up all the food first (dragons like ridgebacks and coatls can only eat seafood, etc. etc.)
This allows you to manage what dragons eat what. Got a bunch of greens but not a lot of seafood? Get those guardians to eat their dang vegetables and stop hogging the seafood from your starving ridgebacks.
And if some days you don't really feel like sorting through each food type and just want to feed all (i know i do sometimes), no worries. cause selective feeding still has a 'feed all' button:
Tumblr media
It really is just the normal feeding function but better.
Why feed dragons? Besides them needing energy to participate in site functions like coli or breeding, if you keep your dragons well fed (keep the total clan energy above 80%, or above the 2nd bar) for 3 days in a row (when the blue bar fills up), you get some nice helpful bonuses to your daily activities, the biggest ones being +5 gather turns and +15% exp in the Coliseum.
Tumblr media
And as long as you keep them well fed, you will always have these bonuses.
Some other things to note that i don't really have an order for, but feel they need to be mentioned:
Unlocking apparel slots is a permanent global upgrade to your account, and is not per dragon. If you unlock a slot, that applies to all dragons, new or old. This is something that seems to trip up every single new player, myself included, and so i always like to mention it.
Hibernal den is a secondary storage for dragons that can be a lot easier to open slots for, especially when your main lair expansions start to get very expensive. However, keep in mind that dragons in the hibernal den CAN NOT be used for regular site functions. They can not breed, be used in the coliseum, and can not bond with familiars (tho you can still put familiars on them if you want to). On the plus side though, dragons in the hib den never lose energy and never need to be fed. So the hib den is perfect for storing dragons that you really like, but don't really use for anything, like coli or breeding. Also note, when a dragon is taken out of the hib den, they will have a 30 day cool down before they can be put back into the hib den.
If it's not on by default, would highly recommend going to the settings in your hoard and check marking the setting for 'Highlight items that have important uses for other features.' This will add helpful markers to items in your hoard if they are used for any other site functions, and what those functions are. It'll even display if it has multiple uses. like Swipp Swap Trades, Bladwin recipes, or hib den quests. It is SO incredibly useful, given just how many different items are needed for different things, and is a lot to keep track of. If you're not sure what an icon on an item means, you can hover over it and it'll tell you.
While there is a premium currency and a premium item market, you can play this game totally for free. it can take some time depending on what you're after, but it's for sure doable. You can sell items and dragons on the Auction House for gems, or can trade on the forums. playing this game for a little over 9 years now, i think i've only ever spent actual money on it twice? so is for sure doable.
The Game Database is your best friend <3 It is very helpful for finding items, find where those items come from, and finding what those items need or what they cost if it applies. Certain cycled items will have their data removed when they are not currently available, but that's where Comments tab comes in, as many super helpful players have marked down a lot of the info for them for these instances. The comments are also good for finding out how much marketplace items costs when on flight discount.
And that's about all i can think of right off for helpful tips for starting out new. I'm sure i'm missing a bunch of obvious stuff, my memory is not great for these types of things ;>_> If anyone else has something to add that i missed, feel free to add to this. Hope this helps! And enjoy dragon economics! :D

OC x Canon Dynamic Rambling
Ft. Kaeya and Poca (mentioned OC)
The short version is basically that they are best friends to lovers. Poca's the shy and anxious one and Kaeya is the charming and flirtatious one. (This came out a lot longer than I anticipated. Don't ask me if I'm okay-) Here are things I think they would like about each other:
Kaeya's Pros
Likes his friendliness, it makes her feel more at ease when talking to him. Poca struggles a bit when it comes to socializing and tends to overthink. She doesn't worry as much when she interacts with Kaeya.
Likes how mysterious he is. Poca's very curious and likes to learn things about people, sometimes it borders nosiness. (It's why despite being a shy person, I consider her an extrovert. She enjoys socializing bc she can learn more about people she likes.) Him being almost impossible to read would probably be one of the main things that draws her to him.
Likes how reliable he is. The way Kaeya does things may be unconventional to most, but Poca likes how he's always able to get things done. She respects how much work he is willing to put in order to help someone even when he doesn't get recognition for it. Along with her older sister and kinda sorta Coatl, I feel like Kaeya would be one of the people she relies on the most and doesn't want to let down.
Likes his reassurance. Poca admires his confidence and how sure he is during situations, it makes her feel safe. Even though she likes to craft and make art whether it be sewing, stitching, or drawing, she does have her doubts and hesitates thanks to overthinking and anxiety. Sometimes, she ends up scrapping ideas. It's because of Kaeya's assurance and assistance that she doesn't give up on her ideas as much.
Likes his timid side. She often gets a bit flustered by his usual confidence, so she thinks it's endearing when she sees him be more reserved and shy, especially when he's doing an act of service and becomes timid at the thought of others knowing what he's doing for them. It makes her feel more comfortable around him because she understands how he feels and wants to reassure him the same way he does for her. (Spoilers for his Hangout! I would like to imagine that Poca's shy about dancing and Kaeya encourages her to try it with him. He also seemed to be shy about singing in his Hangout and so I'd imagine Poca would be happy to encourage him in turn.)
Likes that he listens to her. As I said previously, Poca is a very curious and nosy person. She may come off as shy at first, but she does enjoy drama. Even though Kaeya is secretive, he does also enjoy gossip. I'd imagine Poca would ramble about her travels in Teyvat and Kaeya would listen to her patiently. It's not always as transactional as that though, especially not when they grow closer. Unlike Kaeya, Poca isn't good at hiding her feelings and wears them her emotions on her sleeve. If she's having a hard time, she trusts him enough to tell him about it and is grateful that he's there to listen when she feels alone.
Likes his voice. It's very calming to her, alluring, and soothing to listen to. It's another thing about him that makes her feel safe. It's what she likes about him the most physically speaking.
Poca's Pros
Likes her honesty. I'm not sure if he would say it out loud, but Kaeya admires how honest Poca is to herself. He keeps his cards close to his chest and doesn't reveal many things to other people because he learned what could happen if were to do so the very hard way through his confrontation with Diluc. Despite this, he admires how Poca is able to be so open. It nice how direct she is about her feelings and how straightforward she is when it comes to saying what she thinks. It makes communicating with her easier. Even if others think she's strange and even if that hurts her, she doesn't stop being herself.
Likes her creativity. Kaeya thinks Poca's ideas and creations are impressive. Seeing how focused she is when she works and watching how excited she gets when she succeeds is something that puts a smile on his face and makes him want to help her bring her ideas to life. He thinks it's endearing hearing the passion in her voice when she explains her ideas to him and seeing the joy in her face when she is able to make them come true. He wants to be there to watch her wildest dreams come true and to help her make them come true.
Likes her unpredictability. If there's anything that attracts Kaeya, it's spontaneity. It's strange. Even though Poca's feelings are very easy to read, it's her mood swings that are unpredictable. Poca has many sides to her, they all slowly begin to show as she grows closer to someone. Kaeya finds this entertaining and attractive in the same way that Poca is attracted to his mystique. He likes how there always seems to be a side to her that he hasn't seen yet, it makes bonding with her and getting to know her exciting.
Likes her humor. Kaeya finds Poca's reaction to certain things amusing and her directness to be funny. He often laughs at the jokes she makes. This makes Poca feel happy and a bit flustered, she likes seeing him express joy and feels proud of herself for being able to make him laugh.
Likes how knowledgable she is. This is another thing Kaeya finds both entertaining and admirable about her. Poca knows a lot and has learned a lot from her travels. She likes to learn about stuff, especially obscure things that little people know. It makes it all the more exciting when she gets to share it with those she likes spending time with. Kaeya is no exception. She likes sharing what she has learned with him and he enjoys listening to what she wants to share. Given how obscure some of the subjects Poca talks about are and how some discoveries are hidden in specific regions that she has traveled to, Kaeya is almost always interested in what Poca has to say.
Likes how understanding she is. Kaeya respects how considerate Poca can be. She's open to not just learn about things for the sake of it, but also to try and grow from it. Even though Kaeya's methods are unconventional in the eyes of many, Poca sees how effective they can be and sees the effort he puts into his work. It's something Kaeya appreciates about her.
Likes her face. I feel like with the facial features she has, Kaeya would think she looks endearing and so it's the physical trait he likes about her the most.
Alright, that's everything I can think of. Sorry that this is so long >_<
