“yeah? because i’m starting to think that’s all it is.”

“you don’t know anything—”

“yeah, we’ll why don’t you go and run off with him like he wants, huh? the way i think you’re secretly wanting to, the way ali did,” he nearly growls. his chest heaves as he drops his hand to his knee, leaving you to stand in the space between his thighs.

“johnny,” you say softly.

“that’s what you want, isn’t it? that’s what everyone wants. to leave me in the dust,” he says.

“johnny, no,” you say again, bringing your own hands down to rest on his shoulders. “look at me please.”

“This place looks pretty expensive.” Miguel was awed as he walked into the perfectly decorated jewelry store. “Which means chicks will dig anything from here,” Hawk smirked. “Once again [name] isn’t a chick.” Miguel didn't know why he trusted Hawk and Demetri to help him with this. They were both losers when it came to relationships. It took them 4years to finally confess to liking each other. He was starting to wish he had waited for his mom or Sam to be free.

“Look given your past experiences, it’s best if you buy something more expensive. You know, to seal the deal.” Demetri perked as the teens walked up to the display of heavily shiny jewelry. “Get this one, no this one, or this one. There’s so many to choose from.” Demetri looked as if he was spazzing out. “Dude your freaking out again,” Hawk mentioned then turned to focus back on Miguel. “So what are we thinking? Earrings? Necklace?” The clerk asked. “I don’t know yet, it’s our 1st anniversary and I just wanted to give him something special.” Miguel grinned at the clerk. She couldn’t help but give the same grin back. “I think I have something you may like, give me one moment.” She smiled and left towards the back room.

“Why don’t you give me anniversary gifts?” Demetri asked crossing his arms together and giving his boyfriend an eye roll. “Probably because you force me to celebrate all our first. First kiss, first time holding hands in public, hell you even celebrate our first time seeing each other as a couple.” Hawk shot back. Before Demetri could shoot back a comeback, the young clerk came back with a box of nicely arranged bracelets. She pointed to one specifically. “This one has top of the line 18k white gold bracelet, surrounded by 60 Pavé Diamonds, for a extra fee we’re willing to give you a chance to engrave anything you want into it. It’s can be your anniversary date, a quote, a name, anything of the natural.” Holy shit. Miguel only understands a quarter of what she said but the bracelet itself was definitely worth the listen.

“What’s the price?” He asked still memorized by the gorgeousness of the bracelet itself. “Well, right now this one-of-a-kind bracelet is sitting at about 899$ but with the engraving, it could bounce up to about 950$. However plus tax and if you want our insurance plan that’ll all equal up to roughly 1,238$.” She finished. Miguel let out a modified laugh. That’s more than his paycheck in two months. “Can we look for a cheaper option?” Miguel smiled. “And by cheaper he means a LOT more.” Hawk chipped in which sent a smack on the back of his head by Demetri.

That’s when he saw it. A necklace with a cute bear charm attached to it. The exact stuffed animal he won you on your first date. “How about that.” He pointed. “That is indeed on our cheaper side. 210$ with engravings it’ll be 260$.” Miguel gave the clerk a huge smile. That was perfect and in his price range. “I’ll take it, with engravings also.”

“Gift time!” You enthused as Miguel sat on your bed. You stood from your position and went over to the hiding spot of Miguel’s gift and returned to your spot in front of him on the bed. “I wanna go first.” You smiled and handed him the gift. He nervously unwrapped it but smiled when he got to the gift itself. He lifted a big book from the box and opened it and saw all the memories you’ve made together, even before becoming a couple. “I love it, baby.” He smiled and leaned over to set a sweet, simple kiss on your cheek.

“My turn now.” He handed you a much smaller box and a lighter box. You lifted the top to reveal the gift inside, and to your surprise it was empty. “ um I think yo-.” You cut off your sentence when you saw Miguel holding a shiny necklace with a cute bear hanging in the middle. “No way.” You laughed not even trying to contain your excitement. You turned around allowing Miguel to place the necklace around your neck. It surprisingly felt a tad bit heavy but it was so worth it. “You have no idea how much this means to me.” You smiled planting a long passionate kiss on his lips.

summary: football player! miguel, nerd! reader, miguel and y/n have both liked eachother but haven’t confessed, miguel’s teammates have convinced him to ask her to homecoming, after the homecoming game, he went up to her and asked her if she wanted to go to homecoming with him. (lowercase intended) (this was based off a tiktok i saw but i lost the tiktok so i tried my best)

miguel and you had both gone to the same elementary schools to highschool. though y’all grew up together you both go distant when you got into ap classes and didn’t see him as often. though you did a smile at him when you both passed by eachother.

homecoming day, 3:30, y/n’s house

you enter your house, backpack in hand, keys in the other. knowing your mom isn’t home you went upstairs and got ready to go to the football game your friends forced you to go to. they even had to bribe you with food. you wiped off the old makeup putting on new makeup, you headed to your dressing room. and picked out an outfit.

you finish getting ready and head downstairs to your garage. getting on your motorcycle you head to the football game.

arriving to the football game, you find your girl-friends. you see them huddle up and you run up to them. they flinch and laugh it off when you give them a confused face. “are y’all okay?” you say worried. they nod. “c’mon we’re gonna miss the beginning.” rory says and drags us along. you all sit down on the middle row.

at the end of the game; authors pov

miguel just got a touch down. everyone cheered. the buzzer sounded. miguel got surrounded by his teammates carrying him up, cheering loudly for him. once they put miguel down they talked about the homecoming proposal.

reader’s pov

you had gotten up, heading for the exit. “uhh! y/n wait i need to tie my shoe..” rory says and crouches down near the fences to the football field. you wait and see miguel out of the corner of your eye. “rory. how slow can you tie your shoe?” you say, inpatient. “uhm. y/n?” miguel says, you turn around. his friends are surrounding him. “yes?” you say confused. he lifts up his football jersey and shows a white shirt with black letters and check boxes. “will you be my homecoming date? yes or no.”holy shit. he has a black sharpie on his right, having the left holding his shirt. you grab the sharpie and put a check mark on the yes. when you finish the check mark he immediately holds your face and kisses you, your light lipstick left a kiss stain on his right cheek. after the kiss, his teammates come up to him, hyping him up. rory and lily hug you, you were so optimistic.

you finish putting on some make up and finish with your hair, doing simple light curls. you move away from your vanity and glance at the homecoming dress you had bought in a rush. you had bought the dress after miguel confessed, not knowing you would actually go to homecoming. you smile and head to your closet looking at yourself in the long mirror.

you finally arrive at the venue where the homecoming is being held. you enter, texting miguel and your friends trying to find them

rory🤗🤗: bitch i see your bf hurry up

lily😽: miguel is asking us where you at. we’re near the food, hurry up.

you were headed to the food table, have not eaten something before getting to the venue. miguel comes up to you and gives you a corsage with a pink tulip. you give him a kiss on the lips, not wanting to make out in front of your friends.

“ugh, you make me sick,” Rory says rolling her eyes and lily agrees. you and Miguel smile. a slow song starts to play and you a Miguel look at each other. “can i have this dance with you? m’lady?” he says and puts a handout. “yes you may, if you don’t ever say m’lady again.” you say with a smile. you both head to the dance floor and you place your hands on his shoulder and his hands are on your waist. “you look so pretty tonight,” he says smiling. “only tonight?” you say jokingly. he immediately gets nervous. “i’m kidding, thank you miggs. you look amazing too.” you say and place a kiss on his cheek. his face flushed with a pink tint. god he’s so pretty in this lighting. you think, smiling ear to ear.

The more and more you talk about Miguel and Robby and Xolo Mariduena and Tanner Buchanan, the more I realize that yeah….. Xolo does sorta suck and Miguel is somewhat of a problematic main character as well lol. Anyways… what other projects will Tanner be in?

I just saw this in my box because for some reason, it only showed up once I had log out and than back into my account.

So, I apologize for not answering it sooner, but I it wasn't showing up.

I'm definitely not a fan of Xolo, because the way he treated Tanner on his birthday was just just mean and than he had the audacity to laugh about the whole thing later on his podcast as if it was funny.

I don't care if Xolo didn't think Tanner was the height he claimed to be or not. You don't continually mock someone about it to the point that they get so uncomfterable that they literally leave the room to get away from you and than laugh about it later.

I mean Tanner was so uncomfterable that he literally left the room and went to stay in his own room with Lizze at the hotel where they were all crashing, because he doesn't like conflict and decided to spend the rest of his birthday away from everyone else, rather than be that uncomfterable.

That's just messed up! And than Xolo did a whole podcast about it later and laughed about it as if the whole situation was funny. Even worse, during the podcast Xolo mentioned that Jacob and Mary saw Tanner was getting upset (and tried to tell him to stop), but he just kept bothering him.

I can't stand bullies like that.

As far as Miguel as a character, he was somewhat nicer in season 5 and I could actually see them getting along in the future.

However, I will never agree with the way he treated Robby in the past (especially since Miguel never got called out for targeting Robby for literally no reason).

Robby had never done anything to make him believe he was going to pursue a relationship with Sam. Once Robby learned she had a boyfriend, he backed off and then remained only friends until Sam herself made the first move after the break up (and even then he was hesitant to begin a relationship with her).

That is not the behavior of someone who steals your girlfriend. Which is why it annoyed me in season 5 when Hawk tried to start shit about Robby talking to Sam at the dojo. Like they're friends? Why do all the other boys have such extreme jealousy issues? Sam can't talk to other guys? It's beyond ridiculous.

So I don't like season 1-4 version of Miguel at all.

But I might be able to tolerate the season 5 version as long as he gets his head out of his ass and doesn't start shit for no reason that puts Robby in the crossfire.
