Another little snippet from the Day 2 soulmate fic for codywan week:
Warning for Kenobi spoilers below the read more
Leia was afraid, but one of the troopers was terrified. The two in white armor seemed bored, but the one in black with the big rifle was simultaneously scared and void of emotion, and she frowned, staring at him with her head tilted, knowing she’d never met anyone who felt like him. Current predicament almost entirely forgotten, she tried to solve the puzzle of why he felt so strange. Maybe he was some type of being she had never encountered.
But he felt worried for someone specifically and for her which didn’t make any sense at all. He didn’t know her, and the other troopers didn’t care at all about what happened to her.
Something about him reminded her of Ben.
“Are you okay?”
The two troopers in white turned to look at her and she scrunched up her nose. “I wasn’t talking to you. I was talking to him.”
The one in black didn’t move or say a word, but that scared part of his mind focused on her, curious.
“Quiet kid,” one of the stormtroopers mumbled, and Leia rolled her eyes.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“I said be quiet.”
“You can’t tell me what to do. I’m a princess of Alderaan. I give the orders here.”
One of the two bored troopers snorted. “Nice try, Princess.”
“Do you have a name?”
“CC-2224.”
“That sounds like a droid name. Are you a droid?”
“I’m no clanker.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“You going to let a kid talk to you like that, Commander?” The stormtrooper on her left was clearly taunting the trooper in black as his companion laughed.
“Both of you out. Guard the door. Alert me if you see even a glimpse of Kenobi. Neither of you can handle him.”
“You can’t take a Jedi.”
“This particular one I can. Easily.”
The stormtroopers shuffled out muttering under their breath, and the remaining trooper removed his helmet. There was grey in his hair and a scar down the left side of his face, and his expression was impassive. His feelings were a mess, however, and Leia still hadn’t figured that part out yet so she kept focusing on it, reaching out to the part that wanted to be free. Maybe that part would help her.
He was so close. Just a little bit more…
The trooper dropped to his knees with a ragged shout, cradling his head in his hands. When he sat back on his heels there was clear fluid running from his nose, but the feeling of wrongness was gone, and the part that reminded her of Ben for some reason was all that remained. He gaped at her, hands coming up to wipe at his face, and he shook his head as if he didn’t believe what had just occurred.
“What did you do?”
“Part of you felt wrong.”
She had simply reached out to the other part. She wasn’t exactly sure what she had done or if she had even done anything at all.
The man swore viciously and stood up, wobbling a little like a newborn animal learning how to walk. She was grateful when he freed her from the restraints and set her on the floor, and she immediately reached for his hand, knowing somehow that he was safe and that he would keep her safe.
“Can you tell me your real name now?”
“Cody. I’m Cody.” He gave a sharp little laugh though Leia wasn’t sure what was funny, and he didn’t seem particularly amused. “And you’re Leia?”
“I’m Leia.”
“And Obi-Wan is looking for you.”
Leia hesitated. “She said he was dead and wasn’t coming for me.”
“Well she lied.” Cody glanced at the door, and Leia heard one thud and then another.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea…”
“I’ll be on a mission to Kiros in three days, with only a small squad. Please, I can send you our coordinates. And once you find us, I can stun my crew. We’ll have a full hour or so to ourselves. Please, Obi-Wan, these years have been a torture without you.”
Obi-Wan sighed, knowing all too well what Cody was talking about. Besides, if anything, it must be even worse for Cody, considering the organisation he was surrounded with.
“I know. I’ll be there.”
“As soon as I see you, I’ll try to kill you. I won’t be able to help it. Make sure you’re armed. And bring something you can tie me up with, securely.”

CodyWan Week Day 5: Wings + Sith(/Purge Trooper) @codywanweek
I didn't wanna draw something too similar to what I posted last year, so I figured this would work ^^
In this AU I imagine that one day in the war Obi-Wan just kinda snapped and decided to ditch the Jedi Order and the Republic to pursue peace for the Clones instead. So he's not really affiliated with the Sith and Cody obviously isn't a Purge Trooper, but the sentiment stands lol
The wings look the way they do, because I wanted to lean into the whole "on the run"-aesthetic and make them look ragged and burned, but I liked this, so I didn't go further.

Because last night’s episode inspired angst and this idea was floating around after the first two episodes, have a snippet of my Codywan Week soulmate fic.
Warning: Kenobi episode 3 spoilers below the cut:
Obi-Wan could feel the phantom pain of the burns in the dreamworld, but they did not hurt nearly as much as Anakin’s anger and hatred had in his mind. They did not ache like Cody did in their bond, guilt and despair threatening to consume him even as he ran fingers gingerly along the sweep of white as his temple, a slow, repetitive motion meant to soothe both of them. He had heard Cody’s screams echoing his own, had seen the trooper in the black armor drop to his knees, but he remembered little after that save for agony and a rage that burned hotter even than the flames.
The physical pain was minimal while he was asleep, but he still felt as though he was burning alive.
“I’m sorry.” Cody’s voice was quiet and raw, and all Obi-Wan could do was nod his head ever so slightly where it rested against his thigh. Doing more took energy he did not have. Cody had no reason to apologize. He was a prisoner in his own mind and at that point had to be an unwilling partner in their soul bond.
“I am sorry as well. I may have deserved that, but you did not.”
“Why the hell would you deserve that?” Cody looked down sharply, brow furrowing, and Obi-Wan closed his eyes and swallowed, heart seizing in his chest before he shook his head. Pity and sorrow curled through their bond, and Cody returned to running his fingers through Obi-Wan’s unruly hair, combing out the tangles and singed edges. “Whatever you think you did… it didn’t warrant being burned alive.”
