The Hero of Tython, just before the attempt to capture the Emperor: If Jomar's vision comes true and I get captured and brainwashed by the Emperor, just be aware that if I act on any impulses that I have held back from, that's his fault not mine. Doc: Holding back, huh? ;))) The Hero of Tython: This is a message and part of a system of messages; pay attention to it! This message is a warning about danger. The danger is to the body, and it can kill. The form of danger is an emanation of energy.

the inquisitor balmorra story involves less actual genetic fuckery than I think it should tbh. this serum's only meant for colicoids? I think the inquisitor should be able to be like "okay what if I had colicoid dna then"
is it absurd? yes. but I think taket does suggest this because. listen. shes got scientific curiosity in her but she doesn't have much actual background education. it's just the right combination for her to suggest something absolutely batshit and I think it'd be fun if it Sort of Works. or at least is one of those things where it doesn't actually change how the serum works but just fucks with her DNA a bit and might contribute to the whole mess with what is mostly the forcewalking sickness.
get to the mother machine and it's like "what the fuck did you DO?"

Returning
"Balmorra-" Tai began, but Ivanye shook his head.
"I was born on Balmorra," he said evenly, "Unless something has drastically changed in the last decade or so, I am aware of the current situation regarding the Imperial occupation."
"You didn't say you were from Balmorra," Aluani accused.
"I'm not," Ivanye enunciated primly, "I was born there, I left when I was still young and, quite frankly, I had no intention of ever returning." Tai seemed mystified.
"Why wouldn't you want to go home?"
"Tython is my home," Ivanye said, as calm and collected as ever, "And before that it was Dromund Kaas. Make no mistake, my parents may have been Resistance fighters, but I was raised Imperial." Tai shook his head, mentally comparing the young jedi's features to various Resistance members.
"Your mom wouldn't happen to be Chemish Or, would she?" Tai asked weakly. Ivanye bristled.
"She lost any right to call herself my mother. When our parents were arrested, my brother and I were given new names and identities and adopted out to good Imperial families. If I hadn't have been force sensitive, or if the Sith had been kinder to me, I might have stayed Imperial," Ivanye shook his head, "You don't need to brief me on the situation. Just tell me who my contact is."
"A Resistance Fighter by the name of Zenith. He's pretty paranoid, so you'll need to activate jammers around Bugtown. Be careful of the colicoids." Ivanye saluted Tai with his unlit saber as he moved to disembark.
"Tharan, would you and Holiday care to join me?"
"Jedi, it would be my genuine pleasure," the scientist responded, falling into step with Ivanye as they exited onto Balmorran soil.

Progressing forward through the story this second play through and I’ve recorded way more clips, mostly of Cal and Merrin
This interaction between Armias and Cal is great. The way cal dodges and immediately force grabs the gun to show he’s not hostile and try and explain himself is nicely done.
This scene has always felt very dark to me seeing that brother Armias was just crushed by an Imperial Drill ship and cal can’t do anything to save him.
Along with that Cal couldn’t have held those boulders up no matter which way you’re looking at it, Merrin stepping in with her magic saved his life.
After such a sad scene here’s a random Mosey photo

Legend of Lightning Chapter 76. Battle of the Makaran plains
Tumblr media
https://archiveofourown.org/works/43208574/chapters/118574104
Vajra watched Kira floating in a Kolto tank. Her hair formed a red halo around her head. Ordinarily, she wouldn’t need this, but kolto was not yet readily available, even with all the stocks seized from the… enemy. Which was why they were using kolto-infused water instead.
At least Kira was getting some much-needed sleep.
Vajra pressed his head against the transparisteel and sighed. He wrestled with his guilt. He’d flippantly told the surrendered enemies—the Balmorrans—that he’d not killed many of their family. And on the surface, that was true. But that hid the fact that he had killed a hundred-and-eighty-three people. He’d felt nothing when he killed them all, but now… what was wrong with him?
Did it truly matter so little to him, when he’d thought he was slaughtering Imperials? Were their lives of less value than Republic ones? How the frick could he have thought something so shallow?! All life was sacred, all life had to be treasured and protected… and he had simply chosen to kill so many.
How many is that, now? He asked himself. Not counting the Colicoids, six thousand, nine-hundred-and-twenty-two. He yearned for any help whatsoever… but he couldn’t contact Master Satele and Jasme, and Kira was unconscious! “Tee Seven? I need help, buddy. I’m lost. I feel so isolated. Weak.”
The droid whistled encouragingly, and Vajra hugged it tight. “Thank you.”

My daughter opted for a change of pace tonight. She told me she wanted to play SWTOR but when I went to log into Fhalx, she stopped me. With great seriousness she informed me...
Tumblr media
“IT’S BANTHA TIME.”
She missed CattGirl and her beloved Bantha, Isabela, and wanted to take a ride while singing (very loudly) “IT’S BANTHA TIME IN THE BANTHA ZONE!”
She still loathes the Colicoids and was not excited that we had to go back to Bugtown. “Why can’t it be People Town instead??!” She demanded. I did not have a satisfying answer.
Additionally...
Tumblr media
Zenith “is still a grouchy grouch”...
Tumblr media
Vengeance was sworn on Darth Lachris for stealing Fhalx’s hairstyle...
Tumblr media
And CattGirl and Isabela got into a race with this fellow and his tauntaun. Isabela lost, but my daughter says “that’s okay because Tauntauns are cute and we still had fun”.

Headcanon - how did the gree go extinct?
😅 I can't tell if you want me to say "I don't know, how?" or link the Wikipedia article, but on looking through the article for the answer, I found out they're not! At the time of the Clone Wars, their culture is certainly endangered and they've lost a lot of knowledge and ability to work their ancient tech, but they're still alive. I did not know this, so thank you for bringing it to my attention.
Here's the link to the article and a copy of the relevant section:
In the final years of the Galactic Republic, the Gree were still best known as a species that had built a civilization that predated the Republic. As a result, the worlds of the Gree were considered a xenoarcheaologist's treasure trove that contained artifacts of exotic and advanced technology. These relics were guarded by a Gree culture which had degenerated to a point where they were no longer able to use much of their own technology. During the Rise of the Empire era, the glory days of the Gree were long over and their history and technological secrets mostly lost.
During the Separatist Crisis, Count Dooku formerly of the Jedi Order was sighted within the Gree Enclave where the Senate Bureau of Intelligence had reports of a man matching his description being on board the mobile Rokak'k Baran station. There were also claims of him utilizing a vessel with a particle-wake unlike any encountered before that led to Director Armand Isard commenting that contact was being made with Gree crafters to inquire if they knew anything about the technology employed. At this point in their history, the Gree still operated and built some unique items. Count Dooku's personal Geonosian solar sailer was fitted with an ancient, mysterious sail of Gree manufacture.
The Trident-class assault ships created by the Colicoid Creation Nest drew upon the ancient designs of the Gree Enclave. Midway through the Clone Wars, the Pollux Poi assassin droids were purchased by Count Dooku from the Gree and utilized on Jabiim. The Gree remained an obscure species, known only to specialists in alien cultures such as clone trooper commander CC-1004. CC-1004 adopted the name "Gree" to demonstrate his knowledge of galactic species, knowing that anyone who commented on his chosen name would share his interest in sentientology.
On the other hand, Gree were almost entirely unfamiliar with standard galactic technology. They were particularly contemptuous of droids, which were not a part of Gree technology. Modern Gree became reduced to mere caretakers of decaying wonders. First contact with the Gree by the Galactic Empire was made by Captain Marrix during a scouting expedition through their sector of space. He was apparently highly respected by the Gree to the point that he was allowed to visit their homeworld once. The Empire maintained a small consulate on Gree though there was no governor or garrison. The Imperial Consul-General maintained a small force under his command that included a Carrack-class light cruiser. Skalus served as the Imperial Consul-General on the Gree world of Asation.
(I would like to note that ancient Gree used foreign droids frequently to communicate with other cultures, as we see in Pat-aK (pot-ah-kay) and his cohort on Coruscant in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Pat-aK is in the Senate building and starts the planet story that's available to Republic classes. He and his cohort communicated almost exclusively in Gree color language, which was causing some difficulties the player character is able to solve.)

[Adi] “...Krayn has no idea she is a Jedi. It is well known that he considers all Jedi his enemies and all his crew are ordered to execute any captured Jedi on the spot. It has taken Siri almost two years to gain this level of power in the Krayn organization. We cannot jeopardize her safety." "But Anakin is with her — " "Then she will protect him," Adi Gallia said firmly. "I am not sure if sending another Jedi is wise. It could compromise her identity." "Perhaps," Mace Windu said. "But perhaps we have waited long enough. If the Colicoids are involved, that intensifies the pressure to bring about the collapse of the spice trade."
the Mom Energy of Adi being like ‘ifk we can’t risk her safety this would be super extra even more dangerous’ and the Dad Energy of Mace being like ‘idk but maybe we should get her the fuck out before shit hits the fan and she’s stuck’

I've always been really curious about the Colicoids. Maybe it's just because I think their droids look cool as shit, but those droids are almost all we know about them, as far as I can tell, and I really want to flesh them out some more.
