i’ve shared these songs before but they’re literally my top faves and i keep listening to them over and over sorry.
gods and monsters - lana del rey
this song just inspires my creativity in a way that is so difficult to put in words. i’ll never get tired of this song. i have some wip characters and worldbuilding entries in my drafts for moonlight falls, los aniegos, and lucky palms that i wrote while listening to this song. i also strongly associate it with some of my sims, particularly vlad.
save your tears (remix) - the weeknd and ariana grande
this is just a perfect collab. “met you once under a pisces moon” umm need i say more.
moonlight - ariana grande
this is such a dreamy opener to the dangerous woman album and her vocal performance is incredible. when it comes to sims, this is another song that makes me think of vlad. who else are you meeting under the moonlight? who?
touch it - ariana grande
her whistle notes at the end blow me away every time. the lyrics make me think of my sims amir and dani.
test drive - ariana grande
i love a car metaphor. idk this is just a cute catchy song. it makes me think of my sims rainer and elise, the whole positions album does.

Titans of AI industry Andrew Ng and Yann LeCun oppose call for pause on powerful AI systems
Join top executives in San Francisco on July 11-12, to hear how leaders are integrating and optimizing AI investments for success. Learn More
Two prominent figures in the artificial intelligence industry, Yann LeCun, the chief AI scientist at Meta, and Andrew Ng, the founder of Deeplearning.AI, argued against a proposed pause on the development of powerful AI systems in an online discussion on Friday.
The discussion, titled “Why the 6-Month AI Pause Is a Bad Idea,” was hosted on YouTube and drew thousands of viewers.
During the event, LeCun and Ng challenged an open letter that was signed by hundreds of artificial intelligence experts, tech entrepreneurs and scientists last month, calling for a moratorium of at least six months on the training of AI systems more advanced than GPT-4, a text-generating program that can produce realistic and coherent replies to almost any question or topic.
youtube
“We have thought at length about this six-month moratorium proposal and felt it was an important enough topic — I think it would actually cause significant harm if the government implemented it — that Yann and I felt like we wanted to chat with you here about it today,” Mr. Ng said in his opening remarks.

Ng first explained that the field of artificial intelligence had seen remarkable advances in recent decades, especially in the last few years. Deep learning techniques enabled the creation of generative AI systems that can produce realistic texts, images and sounds, such as ChatGPT, LLaMa, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion and Dall-E. These systems raised hopes for new applications and possibilities, but also concerns about their potential harms and risks.
Some of these concerns were related to the present and near future, such as fairness, bias and social economic displacement. Others were more speculative and distant, such as the emergence of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and its possible malicious or unintended consequences.
“There are probably several motivations from the various signatories of that letter,” said LeCun in his opening remarks. “Some of them are, perhaps on one extreme, worried about AGI being turned on and then eliminating humanity on short notice. I think few people really believe in this kind of scenario, or believe it’s a definite threat that cannot be stopped.”
“Then there are people who are more reasonable, who think that there is real potential harm and danger that needs to be dealt with — and I agree with them,” he continued. “There are a lot of issues with making AI systems controllable, and making them factual, if they’re supposed to provide information, etc., and making them non-toxic. There is a bit of a lack of imagination in the sense of, it’s not like future AI systems will be designed on the same blueprint as current auto-regressive LLMs like ChatGPT and GPT-4 or other systems before them like Galactica or Bard or whatever. I think there’s going to be new ideas that are gonna make those systems much more controllable.”
Growing debate over how to regulate AI
The online event was held amid a growing debate over how to regulate new LLMs that can produce realistic texts on almost any topic. These models, which are based on deep learning and trained on massive amounts of online data, have raised concerns about their potential for misuse and harm. The debate escalated three weeks ago, when OpenAI released GPT-4, its latest and most powerful model.
In their discussion, Mr. Ng and Mr. LaCun agreed that some regulation was necessary, but not at the expense of research and innovation. They argued that a pause on developing or deploying these models was unrealistic and counterproductive. They also called for more collaboration and transparency among researchers, governments and corporations to ensure the ethical and responsible use of these models.
“My first reaction to [the letter] is that calling for a delay in research and development smacks me of a new wave of obscurantism,” said LeCun. “Why slow down the progress of knowledge and science? Then there is the question of products…I’m all for regulating products that get in the hands of people. I don’t see the point of regulating research and development. I don’t think that serves any purpose other than reducing the knowledge that we could use to actually make technology better, safer.”
“While AI today has some risks of harm, like bias, fairness, concentration of power — those are real issues — I think it’s also creating tremendous value. I think with deep learning over the last 10 years, and even in the last year or so, the number of generative AI ideas and how to use it for education or healthcare, or responsive coaching, is incredibly exciting, and the value so many people are creating to help other people using AI.”
“I think as amazing as GPT-4 is today, building it even better than GPT-4 will help all of these applications and help a lot of people,” he added. “So pausing that progress seems like it would create a lot of harm and slow down the creation of very valuable stuff that will help a lot of people.”

Cut Crease Door - Eco Lifestyle EP - 4t3 conversion
First: if not for @enable--llamas help, this door couldn’t be converted AT ALL - EA did some bizarre witchcraft with the UV mapping that made the door look like SHIT in TSRW/TS3, and I had no idea of fixing it. She also baked a fresh new texture, so, kudos to her too!
This one was converted before mom passed away, but only now I’m on the mood for uploading it. I’ve been SLOWLY returning to converting, I have more stuff to release, but if you want weekly updates like I did when converting Realm of Magic, forget it. I can’t do it.
2 tiles, BGC, at Build > Doors, $95 (Eco Lifestyle build items are INCREDIBLY cheap). Recolor channels in the preview pics.
And look, I shouldn’t have to post this, but it has been a while since my requests were closed and it will be a while until they open, IF they open. I got some really rude conversion requests the days after mom’s passing without a please, or thank you, or implying I’m an idiot for not getting what they want at the first time (English’s not my first language, and their wording WAS unclear), that made me SERIOUSLY think about 1) leave the (public) community and only sharing conversions privately or 2) outright charging money per request, despite hating the practice.
A little respect goes a long way, folks. Come the fuck on.

(Not to get discourse-y either but I wanted to add to your post so I'm jumping over to your asks because otherwise, your post will be a mile long haha)
I'm so glad I bounced out off the reddit after I saw that first thread because I think I would have had a conniption if I read any other thinkpieces on Pete. The audacity to use someone's anxiety to justify why you don't like a team is kind of gross. I just feel so sorry for Pete (and other "S Tiers") honestly. They have to be performing at 110% every mcc or every little second is picked apart and a million critiques are written up. It must be exhausting. Pete needs to come over to tumblr, we love him here! And don't even get me started on the "Jimmy having good chemistry with Grian" thing... Poor Jimmy. He's so incredibly slept on as a player. Have you seen his speed bridging?? It's so good now! And he's great in combat and has super clear communication skills. But I just have to say this whole thing is so funny because here on tumblr, the mcc-updates post for lime llamas has double the notes of any other team. There is obviously an audience for this team and reddit is just salty it's not them.
I also agree completely that Scott has done an amazing job on these teams and that reddit (and twitter lmao) needs to calm down and take a breath. Thank goodness the other teams come out tonight and maybe that will give them something else to latch onto so we all can enjoy the lime llama's in peace <3
it's just so funny because even on the reddit lime is the 2nd most upvoted team (behind only the legendary krakens), and the 2nd team to have over 1k upvotes (not even the dream and tommy team has that many). and there's also multiple posts with hundreds of upvotes criticising it. so like - do you people like this team or not??? make your damn minds up??????
the comments trying to blame pete "getting the same teams" on his anxiety and what not were truly so disgusting to read because they're so utterly baseless, invasive and disrespectful. just because someone is open about their anxiety and how it affects them/how they deal with it, it doesn't mean you get to freely weaponise it and put words in their mouth when they've never said anything of the sort. and there were also comments outright saying they blame scott which is also awful - the way people were comparing the teams of other s-tiers to pete's made it sound like scott has it out for him specifically or some shit. just like you said, there is a massive audience for this team and it's right here, and i don't have any doubts that lime 21 is going to make cyan 20's already incredibly strong tumblr viewership ratio look like child's play. i definitely would really love to see pete team with people like phil, tubbo, ranboo etc etc too, but you can say that without disrespecting the actual teams we do get. calling teams or collabs of any kind "stale" always is just so disrespectful because dude - you're not the one playing in these events. you're not the one making the videos. you can have your opinions of course, but if you're only expecting ccs to do exactly what you want them to do, or you're expecting scott to make mcc teams exactly as you want them, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.
and "jimmy and grian have good chemistry (mcc pride)"........ at least they could've chosen ginger 19 as an example, which was just 4 months ago. jimmy is genuinely an amazing mcc player - he was a fantastic and very efficient floater to grian in mcc 19 buildmart, which enabled ginger to come 1st in that game. and he by far did the best on that team during battle box - he got 10 kills and even rose up to top 10 in the overall rankings after bb was over because of how well he did during it. he also got two top 10 and three top 15 map finishes in tgttos, and played a huge role in ginger's tgttos being as strong across the board as it was (literally the 3rd best tgttos of all time). people on the reddit post about him and using "chemistry" as an empty compliment have pointed out how he's been very consistent this season and especially in his past few events, and i really can't wait to see him this event because he's going to do so well while still being positive, funny and wholesome as he always is.
i'm just going to detach myself from the reddit and from other platforms for mcc stuff and stick to tumblr tbh, it's just a lot better and more comfy here while on reddit or discord people just get really nasty because they get ahead of themselves and think everything should be according to what they want and that their opinions need to be heard at all times
