Lab Partners
Tumblr media
(Image taken from Pinterest, I believe the artist is teletwobees) More Nerd!Miguel here
Also, plz feel free to ask me about college/nerd!miguel bc he is in my thoughts now
Regret, that’s what you’re feeling as you bury your face in your arms, the lab table cool against your skin. You should’ve brought a jacket, but you didn’t have time, just raced out of your apartment to your car in leggings and a t-shirt with your letters printed across the back in purple and white bubble letters.
“Y/N are—are you okay?” Miguel’s voice is soft, the sound of his chair scraping against the floor not as soft, your head aching, pain piercing through your brain at the noise.
Your stomach rumbles and a wave of fatigue washes over you as you lift your head to look at him. “Got dragged to the bar last night.”
He’s wearing a soft looking, long sleeve dark blue shirt, the sleeves pushed up exposing his forearms, his glasses flecked with raindrops, his hair is tousled and slightly damp curling slightly at the ends.
“On a Thursday night?” He asks, his eyebrows furrowing as he unpacks the lab equipment.
“It’s the night everyone goes out, I don’t know why, and I hate it.” You whine, massaging your temples.
Miguel’s large warm hand presses against your forehead, and you startle for a moment, causing him to jolt back, stuttering apologies.
“I—I just wanted to make sure you weren’t sick.” He says, a light dusting of pink across his tanned cheekbones.
He’s got great cheekbones, really, he’s got great everything. Maybe it’s just the hangover talking, but you really want to kiss him. Well, you’ve wanted to kiss him since he sat next to you on the first day of class. And when he slid his notes over to you the month after when he saw you struggling to keep up with the professor’s supersonic lecturing speed.
“I mean, a hangover is a kind of sickness, I’m pretty sure.” You say, your own face burning, but you can’t tell if it from his touch or the hangover.
“Don’t they say to drink something for a hangover? A Bloody Mary or a mimosa? I heard the café off campus sells them until noon.” He suggests, nerves coloring his tone.
Is he trying to ask you out? No, he can’t be. He’s Miguel, the genius, shy and sweet, and definitely not interested in you, and your hectic, dramatic life with sisters you both love and hate depending on what week it is.
“Can’t drink in letters.” You tell him, fumbling for your water bottle and taking a long drink, your eyes fluttering closed as the cool water soothes your sore throat.
“Really?” He asks, and his eyes are on you when you open yours, lingering on your lips, then darting away.
“Yep, it’s like the number one rule for all sororities all across the U.S. movies always get it wrong, really pisses me off.” You grumble, putting your water bottle back in your bag and trying to muster the energy to focus on the assignment in front of you.
“Interesting.” Miguel says, taking his glasses off and cleaning them with the hem of his shirt.
Like an absolute pervert, your eyes shoot down to the exposed sliver of skin. Tanned and toned, you swallow hard as you rip your eyes away.
“Yep, Hollywood, they always try to make us look like drunk sluts. And look, I may be drunk occasionally, but I’m not a slut.”
Miguel’s eyes widen and he shakes his head. “I would never call you that—never think you were one, ever.”
You smile and pat his shoulder. “I know, Miguel, you’re too sweet for that.” You can’t help but let your hand drag down to his bicep, his stupidly firm bicep. “My sweet boy.”
His glasses clatter onto the lab table and Miguel scrambles to pick them up, slipping them back on. “Did you get to finish your assignment yet?”
You screw your eyes closed, swearing under your breath. “That’s what I forgot.”
“It’s due tomorrow.” He reminds you.
You nod and press the back of your hand to your forehead, willing your headache to recede. “Yes, yes, I know, I just shit, I totally forgot, and I’ve been so busy, we have this major philanthropy event coming up, and I’ve been up till two am all week helping paint the banner and I really don’t get anything we’re doing in here.”
You pause, sniffling, your eyes welling with tears, as you bite the inside of your cheek trying to keep from crying in the back of the lab.
“I could help you?” Miguel offers tentatively, fidgeting with his pen, his eyes darting between you and the table.
“Really? Miguel, that would be amazing.” You say, unable to resist the urge to lean over and wrap your arms around him.
He smells good, like expensive cologne, and old books.
You take a moment longer than necessary to pull back, basking in his warmth, in the way his strong arms wrap loosely around you before he gains the courage and crushes you to his chest.
“It’s no problem, why don’t we meet in the library around four? It looks like you’re almost done with it, so we shouldn’t be there for too long.” His voice low, calm, and warm vibrates in his chest, and you relax into his hold before pulling back and nodding.
“That would be perfect, thank you.” You beam at him, headache receding, the knot in your stomach unraveling, there’s something about him that’s so comforting, makes you feel safe.
He nods and focuses in on the PowerPoint the professor is going over. He looks so handsome, warm brown eyes flickering over the typed words, his broad shoulders still half turned towards you, his full lips parted ever so slightly as he mumbles to himself.
You rest your chin in your hand and watch him out of the corner of your eye, unable to keep from daydreaming about what it might be like to be his.
Miguel is going places, you know it. And you? You’ve always thought it might be fun to be a trophy wife, maybe Miguel needed a trophy wife?
You can see it now, standing next to him in a gorgeous red dress, your hand around his bicep as he accepts some award for genetics. You can almost feel his lips against yours as he thanks you for your support and dips you old movie style.
“Y/N I’ll see you at four, yeah?” Miguel’s voice pulls you from your daydreams. Class is over, you’ve taken zero notes, and he definitely caught you zoning out.
You nod, and quickly gather your things. “Yeah, yeah four, I’ll meet you there!”
(Also ummm I was in a sorority my entire time at college, so I am actually the expert and Hollywood gets everything soooo wrong it makes me legit angry😭)

Learn his way
Pairing: College!Bucky x Reader
Summary: Bucky is more interested in learning about you than biology
Word count: 1.5k
Warnings: none; just fluff and flirty Bucky
author‘s note: I love College!Bucky so much! This was fun :)
Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Barnes!” You sent the guy sitting right beside you - somehow moving closer to you every single one of your sessions - your signature glare, not the first one that day. “Biology!” you scolded, nodding at the textbook lying in front of Bucky and you. His pen had been poked in your side more times than you‘d be willing to count.
“Oh come on doll, we’ve been talking about biology since-” He took a quick glance at his phone lying beside him, “25 minutes. We only have another 20 so let’s talk about you.” He leaned back in his chair and put his hand on the back of your seat, clearly done with learning about the evolution of organisms. He locked his eyes on you, a playful smirk on his lips.
You groaned, rolling your eyes at him, as his smirk only grew, the corners of his mouth pulling up in his cheeks.
“We’re not here to talk about me Barnes, I’m trying to help you here.” You don’t know why you were even trying at this point. The textbook was still staring at you, unused for probably the rest of this session.
Bucky's phone, still lingering on the table in front of you, lit up with messages every few minutes, though he didn’t pay it any mind. His gaze set on you, biting his lip.
“You are helping doll,” he sounded strangely sincere and you narrowed your eyes at him. “But I hate that I know more about biology than you by now.”
You snorted to which he lifted a brow, mocking offense. “You should know more about biology than me though. Knowing me won’t help you pass the exam.” You now leaned back as well, folding your arms over your chest and holding his gaze.
Bucky straightened up, not holding back his smirk, amusement gleaming in his eyes beside something else you couldn’t quite place. A softness in his expression that didn’t really make sense to you.
“Tell you what,” he started and replaced his hand on the backrest of your chair, moving it further up. You could feel it touching your back. “For every right question about biology, you give me a fact of yourself.”
You roll your eyes again, breathing out a sigh. “Alright,” you nod reluctantly, “Fine.” You grabbed your textbook and browsed through the pages, trying to decide what to ask him.
He moved both his arms to his chest, crossing them in the front, and turned his body to you completely, his whole attention focused solely on you. He watched you intently searching through the pages, a soft smile on his lips.
You seemed to have found something because you lowered the textbook and looked back at him, a challenging smile forming on your lips.
“Nitrogen-fixing bacteria and cowpea demonstrate an ecological association known as-“ You looked at him raising an eyebrow to indicate he was supposed to finish the sentence, grinning sweetly.
He looked at you a few seconds longer before knocking his head back followed by an overly exaggerated groan. “Come on now doll that’s an unfair one,” he exclaimed, the corners of his mouth still twitching upwards, despite his protests.
“You want to know something about me, you gotta earn it Barnes.” You tilted your head, grinning widely back at him.
Bucky stared back at you for a few seconds but broke the eye contact breathing out a laugh. He took in a deep breath, cleared his throat, and faced you again. The smirk was back in an instant.
“Still waiting for an answer,” you sang
“Alright sweetheart, lemme think.” He clenched his jaw, and narrowed his eyes on the wall behind your shoulder, looking deep in thought.
He looked like he genuinely tried to remember what he could have known by now if he’d listened to you instead of poking his pen in your side and drawing a dog on your arm which he still claimed to be a wolf.
“Mutualism!“ he expressed after a while.
Your surprise matched his for a few seconds until his look morphed into a wide grin. Eyes sparkling, the corners of his mouth bringing up his cheeks, crinkles forming at his eyes. “That’s right, isn’t it? See doll, I learned!”
You hummed in contemplation, narrowing your eyes at him. “You cheated!”
He let out a sound of disapproval, his hand moving to his chest to lay over his heart. “You wound me doll, I would never!”
You took a deep breath in. “Alright whatever, that was right.” Looks like he did listen to you.
Bucky moved forward on his seat, one arm extending to lay over the backrest of your chair again. “Time for your part of the deal sweetheart. Tell me something about yourself”
You took a second to think of something insignificant to tell him. “I like pasta.”
He made sure to save that information in the back of his mind, already thinking about what he could do with it. There was this nice, cute pasta place he went to with his family after his sister got her driver's license and they wanted to celebrate. He’d love to take you there too since he doesn’t really get to talk to you outside of these tutor sessions because you always look so busy and stressed and he sure as hell doesn’t wanna worsen it. He was glad about anything you’d give him now that you were basically supposed to focus on him. And now that he had a small glimpse he just wanted more and more.
It continued like that. You asked him questions about biology, important for the exam in a week, and would grant him with a small fact about yourself as regards. He got more eager with every bit you gave him. Even if it was as simple as your favorite color. He knew exactly which sweater he’d wear the next session with you.
You told him about how you preferred cactuses because they didn’t require to get watered every day. You’d just forget. You shared a laugh after that. Bucky again taking notes in his head.
You told him about how you loved to read worn-out and used books because they already told a story themselves. You were a little sheepish after telling him that and he found it endearing. Fondness laced his features. He felt the sudden urge to search his grandparent's bookshelf for a book of your liking to gift to you. His grandparents surely wouldn’t notice but he assumed it’d be a little too early in your relationship - whatever it was - to give you a gift like that.
Spurred on by all the new things he found out about you and the small bond he felt arise, there was a spurt of confidence coming up within him. He reached out to brush the strands of your hair back behind your shoulder that had fallen in front of your face while leaning over the textbook. You looked up at him at the movement, eyes locked on one another.
“Give me another question doll,” he spoke slowly, a little nervous, his voice lower than before. His hand, still in your hair behind your shoulder slowly moved away, back against your chair. His gaze remained locked on yours. “And if I get this one right as well you gotta go out with me. What do you say?”
His gaze was careful, searching your face for a reaction. You couldn’t help the surprise etching on your features, eyebrows lifting. You sat up straight and looked away from him trying to formulate an answer, mouth opening and closing again.
“You don’t have to doll! You could just tell me something about yourself again. Anything really, I’m happy with tha-”
“Bucky!” you cut off his nervous rambling, sensing how tense he became. His arm brushed your back lightly with the way he shifted on his seat. Not wanting to see that troubled look on his face any longer you continued talking again. “I’d like that.”
Eyes growing wide, he let out a breathy laugh. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” You smiled back at him.
A new sort of energy surged through him and he rubbed his hands together before steadying himself on the table with one hand and on his chair with the other. He took a deep exaggerated breath and turned to you, feigning a serious expression though his eyes kept sparkling, betraying his act.
You let out a laugh and again searched for something to test him with. However, if you were honest with yourself you asked him something you were certain of him already knowing. Based on the sly smirk on his lips and the seconds he took to study you before providing you with an answer - the right one - he noticed. But he didn’t complain. And neither did you.
Guess he would be seeing you outside of your tutor sessions after all.

"Miguel, stop lying." You deadpan.
"What?! I'm not lying its true!" Miguel says in defense as you two are walking to your last lecture for the day.
"There is no way you have never tried Arroz con Leche. I refuse to believe you Miguel! With how much your mom cooks I find that hard to believe," You made a mental note to take Miguel to your parents house so your mom could make him rice pudding.
"I guess my mom just never had the want to make it? She never really made desserts often. When she did she usually made flan," Miguel shrugs.
"You are going to try Arroz con leche. You'll love it I promise," You guys stop outside the lecture hall and you look up at Miguel lovingly.
"I'm sure I will, Mi alma," He steps closer to you and pulls you in for a quick, but steamy kiss. His lips felt like pillows against yours and you melt into the kiss as his hands wander to your waist to pull you closer.
"mmm, I love your outfit today," He whispers against your lips before dipping his head to train kisses along your neck and shoulder.
"Always so beautiful," Miguel whispers against your skin. You quietly moan at the contact. Miguel's touches start to become less innocent, and the feeling of his plush lips dragging along your skin while he whispers praises in your ear makes your brain short circuit.
You shake your head and realize your location.
"Miguel, stop, we have to go inside." You laugh softly, trying to pry his head away from you. Miguel groans in defeat.
"This isn't over hermosa," Miguel whispers seductively into your ear which makes you regret pushing him off so soon.
You guys walk into class and you put your head down to avoid the judgmental gaze from the people who witnessed borderline porn in the hallway.
You find the empty seat next to Miguel as you take all your supplies for class out of your bookbag.
-
A few minutes into the lecture, you were taking notes until you saw your phone vibrate next to you. You look at the locked screen to see a text from Miguel that reads:
My place after class?
You furrow your eyebrows, wondering why he couldn't have just told you since he's right next to you. You look over to him to see him with a stupid smile on his face.
You nod a simple 'yes' to him before continuing your work.
For the rest of class you kept zoning off, thinking of all the things Miguel plans to do with you when you got back to the dorms.
You and Miguel usually only made out here and there but you guys never went further than that. You told him that you wanted to wait a bit until you were ready. He agreed, and tried his best to keep his hands to himself, though sometimes it got pretty heated with clothes being thrown around the room.
You thought back to the hallway incident and realized that Miguel had been a little more touchy than usual. You realized that he's become more needy and you cant help but squeeze your thighs together at the thought of Miguel being needy for you.
-
After class you and Miguel walked back to his dorm while linking your pinkies together.
once you got to his room, you kick off your shoes and plop on his bed, sighing loudly.
Miguel took off his shoes and crawled on top of you, careful not to crush you with his weight.
You giggle, "Miguel, get off your too heavy!"
He humms 'no' before snuggling closer to you. You laugh and pet his head. You hear him groan in pleasure, the rumble of his chest reverberating throughout your body.
He trails his hands lightly, up and down your arm and you cant help but laugh and yank your arm away.
"That tickles..." You say to him softly.
"Oh yeah?" He sits up more and starts tickling you on your stomach and your armpits.
You start laughing uncontrollably, as you squirm and kick your feet.
"MiGUELLlll!! STAWPP-P-P-P- HE-HE-HE-he-he!" You yell out. Miguel keeps tickling you while laughing along with you, looking at you with so much love and adoration. You smile makes his stomach all warm, and he cant help but stop and admire your pretty face.
"Hey...why'd you stop?" You pout slightly.
"Thought you told me too," He chuckles.
There is a comfortable silence between you two as Miguel pulls you to straddle his lap. He holds your face in both of his hands and just looks at you.
Yup.
He just stares.
For a good five minutes.
And you just sat there. Awkward...
Miguel finally spoke up after a million years and whispered, "So beautiful."
He gave you a small kiss on the nose, before kissing you on the cheek, then your forehead, then your other cheek, and then your chin.
Finally, very gently, almost not even there, he gave you a kiss on your lips, so slowly as if you were small clumped up ball of sand that looked like a rock and he didn't want to shatter it because it was just so delicate. (why tf didn't I just say glass?)
He kissed you again and you reciprocated, except more passion, and love put into it.
The kiss started to get more heated and Miguel wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you in closer so you were seated on his crotch.
You experimentally rocked your hips and Miguel groaned lowly.
"Y/n, stop." He groaned with his head thrown back as you kept rocking.
"Stop what?" You said innocently.
"D-don't, I dont wan't t-to.... You said-" He stuttered as he tried to get his words out. He was slowly losing his restraint with every rock of your hips.
"S'fine Miggy. I want to..." You whine in his ear as you feel a growing bulge beneath you.
You rocked you hips harder, feeling his tip rub against you clit, making you both shudder.
"Mmmm, fuck yes, mi amor do-don't stop..." Miguel moaned, his eyes hooded as he helped guide your hips against his.
Miguel started guiding your hips faster, making you grind harder on him. You felt wetness pool in your core, seeping through your underwear and onto your pants.
You whined and moaned in his ear as he moan into yours. Your breaths getting heavier and you head spinning even faster. Miguel started tugging at your pants.
"Take em' off," He all but whined into your ear. it took you a second to process what he was saying. You took your pants off, leaving you in your underwear, and Miguel took his off as well. You could see his print through his boxers, leaving little to the imagination.
You got nervous as you saw his size, and Miguel noticed this. He guided you back on his lap and gave you a passionate kiss.
"S'okay baby. We don't have to go all the way right now, okay?" Miguel whispered against your lips. You nodded impatiently, feeling the ache and tingling feeling in your core.
You continued grinding onto him, his hands roaming all parts of your body now. The sensation was even better due to the fact that the only thing separating you two was you guys' undergarments.
You moaned louder into Miguel's neck, and he silenced you with a passionate kiss. You dragged your fingers through his locks, pulling him closer while grinding faster.
"Mi-Miguel i-i'm gonna cum." You whine.
"Cum for me, amor." Miguel rasped into your ear.
Yours and Miguel's movements became more desperate as you were chasing your release.
You felt white hot pleasure crawling up your spine and pulsing throughout your body as you climaxed. Miguel started overstimulating your poor clit, now using you to chase his release.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, dame todo, d-dame todo," Miguel moaned loudly while begging in your ear.
He halted his movements abruptly and he groaned loudly as he came, drenching his boxers, the wetness seeping into your underwear.
"Fuuuuuuuck." He threw his head back and arched his back as he came hard.
You both were panting and moaning still as you came down from your highs. The slipperiness of Miguel and your release made it all the more pleasurable when you kept lightly rocking your hips.
Miguel finally groaned and stopped you from overstimulating him.
Miguel looked into your fucked out eyes and pulled you close.
"You okay, baby?" Miguel stroked your back, soothing your shaking body.
You nod, your brain evaporated from the intense amount of pleasure you received.
Miguel chuckles slightly at this and holds you close for a little while longer, whispering how much he loves you before cleaning you both up so you can sleep the rest of the day away.

Whenever you came home from school, you tried to savor every moment you could Steve before you had to leave Hawkins once again.
And because you weren’t living in Hawkins as much, you didn’t have your own home, leaving the two of you to hang out at your childhood home.
“You have a poster of Tom Cruise.” Steve snorted. You groaned under him, pulling him by his collar, bringing his lips back down to yours. Pulling away, Steve started to kiss down your jaw, towards your neck.
“Really, Steve.” You whined, your hands tugging on his hair, wrapping your legs around his waist, bucking your hips up to his. “I’m about to have sex with you and you’re worried about my room, you’ve seen it constantly.”
“But it’s cute.” He smirked, starting to push up the hem of your shirt, arching your back, letting him take it off for you. Continuing to kiss you, now at your collarbone, kissing between the valley of your breasts.
“Hurry up, my mom is gonna be home soon.” You urged, pushing his head down towards your legs.
Obliging, Steve didn’t take any more time, already digging his fingers under your panties, his finger circling your clit, while the other pulled them to the side. “Shit babe.”
Not answering him, you bucked your hips, wanting more. Replacing his mouth with his hand, his lips wrapped around your clit, eliciting a loud moan from you. Smirking against your cunt, pulling away, his fingers, gathered the spit before moving down towards your entrance. Continuing to lap up your clit, his fingers teasing against your entrance, slipping his fingers barely in before pulling back out.
Starting to whine, bucking your hips closer towards his face, Steve pulled his face away from you, slapping your cunt, you letting out a yelp.
“I will give you what I want.” He demanded, his gaze hard on yours. Nodding submissively, Steve gave a small smile, massaging your thighs before getting back down on his stomach.
Giving up with the teasing, Steve finally gave in to your needs, letting his two fingers slip through your entrance, already curling his fingers, seeing you were already falling apart from his touch.
Leaning up, Steve pulled down your bra, his lips wrapping around one of your nipples, his tongue swirling around, biting it softly, before licking it over. His fingers started to pick up rhythm, his thumb, moving up to clit to start circling it while continuing to finger you.
With all the stimulation, you felt your orgasm starting to approach, your back arching, trying to hold it in.
“Can feel you clenching around me.” Steve smirked, pulling away from your tits, now kneeling on his knees, “Cum for me baby, I know you can.”
Unbeknownst to the both of you as you chased your orgasm, your mother had entered the house downstairs, seeing Steve’s shoes by the door and not hearing the two of you in the living room.
“Such a good girl.” Steve mumbled softly, caressing your cheek, pecking a kiss on your nose.
Just before you could answer, you heard a knock on your door, both of your eyes widening. Pulling Steve off you, grabbing his shirt that was hanging off your bed. Steve climbed off your bed, trying to pull his pants while you got up, pushing him towards your closet.
“Just a second mom!” You called out, seeing Steve now in the closet, grabbing your shirt, and pulling your covers over your bare legs, “Come in.”
“Hey sweets.” Your mom smiled, leaning against your doorframe. “I thought you’d be out.”
“Oh no, I did my errands in the morning.” You gave her a smile. “Just resting in bed.”
You watched as your mom’s eyes wandered through your room, following her gaze, seeing how she eyed your closet.
“Your hair's a little messy.” She commented, your eyes widened, “And you look a bit sweaty.”
Fuck, you thought, she knows. Giving you look, you already knew she wanted you out of the room, getting up, you couldn’t even look at you, your eyes trailed to the ground as you walked out.
“Steve, are you in the closet?” She yelled, looking over at the closet.
Steve was conflicted, he didn’t want to answer but he knew your mom.
“Yeah.” He sighed, resting his head on the door.
“You decent?” You had a hoffied look on your face, hoping Steve would answer correctly.
“No.” His voice cracked.
“Get dressed and come out here!” She yelled, going towards your vanity, sitting on the chair. It took Steve a minute to come out, jumping when he saw her sitting on the chair.
“Hi!” She beamed at him. Steve couldn’t move, dead in his spot, starting at your mom. “You know I didn’t like you at first Steven.”
Your mom had worked down at the diner, one that most of the students from Hawkins High resided in after classes and she remembered the times she saw Steve there during his time during high school.
“Y/n is a sweet girl.” She reminded him. “And she’s away most of the year, and I would like to know that her boyfriend cares as much as he does when she is here and when she is away, you understand.”
“Yes ma’am.” Steve had always been scared of your mom since the two of you started dating, it was just you and her, and the two of you always looked out for each other.
“There’s a restaurant in the next town that she loves.” Your mother let on, “She has to go at least once every time she comes back home.” Steve caught on immediately, nodding his head rapidly in agreement.
“Good.” She smiled, getting up, “And fix your collar, I can see a hickey.”
Panicked, Steve looked in the mirror, seeing a hickey peeking out from the collar of his shirt.
“I’m sorry.” You apologize for your mom.
“Hey it’s fine.” Steve insisted, wrapping his arms around your waist, “It wasn’t anything bad.”
“You sure.” You asked, looking up at him. Shaking his head, Steve just leaned down, kissing your forehead.
“You hungry, wanna go get some lunch?” He asked, changing the subject.
“Always.” You smiled, “There’s this restaurant, the next town over, I love it.”
Steve just smiled, watching as you got ready, “I think I know the one.”

Let Me Love You | 3 - B. Barnes
Tumblr media
Character: college!Bucky x Female!Reader
Summary: On a mysterious, rainy night, Bucky witnesses a distressing encounter involving his crush.
Chapter 1 , Chapter 2 , Chapter 3 , Chapter 4 , Chapter 5 , -
Main Masterlist || support: Ko-fi
Thank you to everyone who has read this chapter. What are your thoughts? Please leave a comment; I'd love to hear your feedback. Thank you once again.
Tumblr media
You and Bucky sprinted away from Lloyd, hearts pounding in sync with the rhythm of your hurried steps, the adrenaline coursing through your veins dulling the ache of exhaustion.
Pausing to catch your breath, Bucky turned to you, concern etched on his face as he asked, "Are you okay?" Your response was worn as you admitted, "No, I'm not okay. I'm exhausted. I just want to go home and hide under my blanket."
Ever the caring friend, Bucky offered to drive you back to your apartment, a gesture that elicited a heartfelt "Thank you, Bucky" from your lips.
Upon arriving at your apartment, after Bucky had kindly dropped you off, the sound of a knock on your door sent a shiver down your spine.
'Knock,Knock,'
Fear gripped you, your mind racing with thoughts of Lloyd's relentless pursuit. However, to your immense relief, Bucky stood on the other side of the door.
Returning with a thoughtful gesture, he handed you something, saying, "For you. Good food could make you feel better." Before you could utter a word of gratitude, he swiftly turned and disappeared, leaving you standing there with a mix of emotions swirling inside you.
You carefully examined what was inside the plastic, finding a comforting sight—a steaming bowl of chicken soup. Gratitude washed over you as you realized how much you needed this warmth to soothe your empty stomach.
Recalling past instances, you couldn't help but contrast Bucky's thoughtful gesture with Lloyd's indifference; he never once checked on you when you were sick. Shaking your head, you pushed those memories aside, recognizing that they belonged to a time that was now behind you.
After luxuriating in a revitalizing shower to refresh yourself, you set about warming up the soup, eager to savor its nourishing goodness.
As you took the first sip, you felt the dizziness that had plagued you begin to dissipate, replaced by a comforting sense of relief. You made a mental note to express your gratitude to Bucky again the next time you crossed paths with him.
Just as you settled down to enjoy your meal, the shrill ring of your phone pierced the air, signaling an incoming call from your mother.
'Ring'
Setting down the soup spoon, you take a moment to sip the warm water, gathering yourself before answering the incoming call. With a deep breath, you bring the phone to your ear and utter a tentative, "Hello?"
On the other end, your mother's voice, Cecilia, sounds immediately concerned, "Don't tell me it's true you broke up with Lloyd?"
You let out a weary sigh, not wanting this breakup to escalate further, especially given your mother's fondness for Lloyd. "Yes, it's true."
Cecilia's tone turns to disapprove, "How? And Why? Don't let him get away, he's our golden ticket to get out from this town."
Your headache, which had just subsided, returns with a vengeance at her words. "Mom, he cheated on me."
Cecilia brushes off your concerns, "So? It's normal for a man with a bright future like him to have many women chasing him. You should've turned a blind eye. I heard from Lloyd's mother that a coach from the NFL league is recruiting him."
You exhale heavily, frustration bubbling up inside you. "I've worked tirelessly and studied hard to maintain my scholarship. I don't have time to watch whatever Lloyd does behind my back."
Cecilia's tone takes on a hint of resentment, "Oh, I see. Just because you became a St. Louis student, you think you're better?"
"That's not what I meant," you interject, feeling the conversation spiraling out of control. "You know what? I don't have time for this. Goodbye, Mom."
With that, you end the call and power off your phone, feeling drained. Glancing at the now unappetizing soup, you realize you just want to retreat into the solace of sleep.

The next day, with no classes scheduled, you requested a morning shift at work, preferring to avoid staying at your apartment to prevent any unexpected visits from Lloyd.
Today, you find yourself assuming the role of kitchen manager, a position you've earned through over a year of dedicated work, earning the trust of your manager. With the usual kitchen manager on leave due to health reasons, you've been tasked with overseeing operations for the day.
As you busy yourself assisting the cashier, your attention is drawn to the entrance by the familiar sight of Bucky and his two friends strolling in. Steve's grumbling about hunger prompts Bucky to suggest a visit to WHAM Burger, their usual haunt. Bucky insists on the visit rather than opting for delivery, eager for the chance to see you.
Welcoming them warmly, you greet them with a smile. "Welcome to WHAM Burger. What would you like to order?"
Observing your tired demeanor, Bucky admires your resilience and spirit. "Three cheeseburgers, three orders of fries, and three Cokes, please."
"Alright," you reply, masking your fatigue with determination. "You guys can take a seat, and I'll bring it over to your table."
As they settle in at their table, Bucky notices you approaching with their meals. However, his attention is caught by the unexpected addition of 12 chicken nuggets on the tray. "Y/N, we didn't order these," he points out.
You wink playfully at him, a gesture of gratitude. "My treat. Thank you for your help yesterday, Bucky."
Bucky can feel his cheeks flushing as Sam, seated beside him, notices and flicks his ear.
"Ouch," Bucky exclaims, rubbing his ear sheepishly.
Your laughter rings out at Bucky's reaction, adding a lightness to the atmosphere.
The light atmosphere in the restaurant swiftly turned dark as Lloyd, accompanied by Nicky and the rest of the football team, entered the establishment. A smirk adorned Nicky's face, her presence feeling like a taunt as she appeared to flaunt her newfound proximity to Lloyd.
Lloyd's casual remark did little to ease the tension as he addressed you, "Don't mind us, we just came here for a quick breakfast."
With a flourish, Nicky produced her black credit card, offering to foot the bill, "My treat." The football team erupted into cheers at the prospect.
Lloyd, with a smile playing on his lips, added, "Great, and we could use Y/N's employee discount."
Nicky's gaze shifted to you expectantly, awaiting your confirmation "Really?"
Raising an eyebrow, you couldn't believe the audacity of the situation. "That discount only applies to me," you retorted firmly. Working here, you've always utilized the employee discount, which Lloyd had benefited from in the past.
But to expect it for a party of 24 people? That was pushing it. You knew that allowing such a large discount would likely result in repercussions from your manager, perhaps even costing you your job.
You felt the weight of 24 pairs of eyes bearing down on you, and under their collective gaze, you couldn't help but feel small. Even the manager's expectant look added to the pressure.
Then, a comforting hand gently grasped your arm, and you turned to see Bucky standing beside you. His reassuring nod gave you a sense of calm amidst the chaos, "It's gonna be alright."
"Huh?" you uttered in confusion.
As Lloyd crossed his arms, his disapproval evident, he glanced between you and Bucky with a dismissive "Tsk," unable to comprehend your choice.
However, before you could respond, the manager, Thesa, intervened. With a professional smile, she addressed the football team, acknowledging their presence with gratitude.
"Thank you for coming to WHAM Burger, our football champions. It's an honor to have you here. As a token of our appreciation, today's order will be on us."
The unexpected gesture elicited cheers from everyone, except Nicky, whose opportunity to embarrass you had been thwarted.
Feeling a wave of relief wash over you, you couldn't help but feel fortunate for the turn of events, even if you weren't entirely sure what had transpired.
Thesa's call snapped your attention, and you nodded in response. "Sure," you agreed before casting a quick glance at Bucky. "I'm needed in the kitchen. See you guys at the uni." With that, you hurriedly made your way to the kitchen, leaving the dining area behind.
As you scurried off, Bucky watched your retreating figure, a sense of concern etched on his features. However, his attention was soon diverted when he felt a gaze burning into him. Turning, he found himself locking eyes with Lloyd, who radiated hostility.
Beside him, Steve noticed the tension and issued a warning. "You better watch out, punk."
Bucky simply nodded in acknowledgment. "I know," he replied, his tone resolute.
Sam, ever observant, chimed in with a question. "Did you help Y/N just now?"
Before Bucky could respond, Steve jumped in. "Of course, he did. He can't let his crush get bullied like that."
The word 'bullied' lingered in Bucky's mind, igniting a protective instinct within him. He vowed silently to ensure you never experienced such treatment, especially not within his domain.
Indeed, while only a few people on campus knew, within WHAM Burger, everyone was aware that Bucky Barnes was the son of the owner of this famous food chain restaurant.
Yet, despite the recognition that came with his lineage, Bucky remained grounded and humble, striving to earn his place through hard work and dedication rather than relying solely on his family name.
And now, upon discovering that his number one girl is being underestimated like this, Bucky feels compelled to protect her.

When Nessa proposed she wanted to set you up with her boyfriends frat mate, you didn’t know what to expect. All you knew was that she was desperate to help you loose your virginity.
So, after a couple days of convincing, you give in. But not before calling your best friend to drag him along. You call Joel immediately after Nessa tells you about the party. He had been your best friend since 6th grade. You met him in math class and after pestering him for a piece of gum. When he finally gave in, you continued to pester him until you completely weaseled your way into his life. And since then, you had been inseparable.
You and Joel had watched each other go through countless crushes and relationships, but nothing stuck for either of you. Joel was a little more proactive, and had done a lot more than you had ever done. Including losing his virginity. But, you promised each other to keep each other in the loop. So here you are, last minute on the Wednesday before the party, waiting for him to pick up as the phone rings.
"Jo, hey." You say quickly after he picks up.
"What's up, Buttercup?" He says, panting slightly.
    "You good?"
"Yeah, sorry, I'm just at the job sight." He says, trying to catch his breath.
"Still? It's 7?" You frown, looking at the alarm on your desk.
"Yeah, Dad's got us cleaning and shit." He sighs, "so what's up?"
"Oh, yeah. Right." You laugh, "What are your plans Friday night?"
"Tommy's got a football game, but I can get out of it if you wanted to do something." He answers.
"There's a party. A Halloween party." You say, flipping a page of your textbook and start writing.
"Oh, y'know I'm not really into that kinda shit." He says. You can picture the little scowl he unintentionally does.
      "Please? For me?" You whine.
"Why do you want me to go so bad, college?" He chuckled. You can imagine him standing at the job sight. Breathing heavy in his work pants and neon orange t-shirt. He'd be panting slightly, beads of sweat running down his forehead, curls messy and hands dirty from a tough day at work. His biceps bulging in the t-shirt and his thighs tight against the fabric of his pants.
"Nessa is trying to set me up with one of the football guys, I need my bodyguard just in case things get rocky." You says, the eraser of your pencil pressing against your lip as you read and talk,
"Nessa? Your roommate?" He asks. Joel and Nessa don't get along.
"Please, Jo." You drag out his nickname.
"I don't wear costumes." He says flatly.
"What if i buy you one?" You propose.
"You're not spending money on me." He argues.
"Wear dark clothes. I'll just get a mask or something." You suggest, "you don't even have to wear it, just hold it."
He sighs from the other line, "Fine. I'll wear dark clothes. And I'll be at your dorm at 7:30."
"Really?" You ask, smiling brightly as you look down at your desk with a smitten face.
"Really, Princess." That's what he called you whenever you got you way. It always made you feel like you had a little butterfly flying around your rib cage.
"Thank you. I love you." You giggle, going back to writing notes.
"Love you too, College." He says, you can hear the smirk in his voice. "Well, I gotta go. I'll see you then?"
     "See you then, Jo."

The crowd is immediately overwhelming to Joel. As the group approaches the frat house, there a guy throwing up an the sidewalk. He's dressed as Luigi. His mustache lays crumbled at his feet while he groans. Joel automatically thinks of 3,001 excuses to get the hell out of there. But each excuse is thrown away after he thinks about you. What if something happens to you? So he stays. Stuffing part of the werewolf mask you bought into his back pocket. Reluctantly grabbing a beer from the huge cooler once you're inside and cracking it open. He watches as you and Nessa take out your own alcohol and soda can to make a mixed drink.
Earlier that night, he arrived at your dorm to see you all dolled up. A winged liner and a cherry red lipstick being the most notable out of your makeup look. For him at least. You were wearing a white, pirate styled shirt with a worn brown vest. In a material that made Joel cringe slightly. Your skirt was fluffy, and short, exposing your thighs in the cold air. You wore converse, just like he had. You were dressed as Little Red Riding Hood. Shoving a cheap werewolf mask into his hands, thanking him for wearing exactly what you had told him. Which was a navy crewneck and dark denim. He was your big bad wolf.
He sighs, standing beside them, feeling wildly out of place. You had brought him to the same frat before. After a Longhorns game. An invitation reached out by Nessa and her boyfriend who was in the frat. But before then, he was drinking and it was easier to make conversation about football, and not his shitty costume. He swallows his pride and watches you giggle with your bad influence of a roommate. Or so he believed her to be.
You turn to see him staring, throwing a crooked smile in his direction before taking a long sip of your drink. Which had mostly alcohol and a drop of Dr Pepper. "Can you hold my soda, Joel?" You ask, with your usual puppy eyes and fake pout.
He grumbles and grabs it from you, double fisting a Busch lite and your Dr Pepper. While holding your soda and following you around, all Joel could think about were his little brothers words. 'You're the boyfriend with absolutely no benefits.' And Joel couldn't deny it any longer. He helped move you into your dorm, he picks you up when you drink too much with Nessa, he holds you when your shitty boyfriends screw you over, and he holds your drinks at parties so you can flirt with other guys. And he gets nothing but a 'thanks Joel! You're the best!'
It took him way too long to realize that he's the friend zone king. He sits on its shitty throne next to the guy who says 'Where's my hug?' His stomach churns. His throat burning hot and his head is spinning.
"Nessa said Kayden and Theo are on the lawn." You shout over the music into Joel's ear, the proximity making his heart jump.
"The hell are they doin' out there?" He asks back.
"Keg-stand, fucking idiots." You grumble and Joel laughs, agreeing. Which earns him a glare from Nessa. To which he sticks his tongue out back.
Nessa grabs onto you, leading you out towards the lawn. You immediately grab onto Joel's forearm and drag him with you two. He sighs, downing half of his beer as he walks with you to the lawn. A sea of drunk college students dressed in silly or slutty costumes litter the lawn. Nessa's boyfriend, Theo, is in the middle of a keg stand, and Kayden is cheering from the side with a jug full of alcohol. God, Joel wanted to lose his shit and bang on his chest in pure anger. You were nervous about that fucker?
You look to Joel with an uneasy smile, he doesn't return it. "How do I even communicate with him?" You ask Joel.
"You run away as fast as you can," he gives you an unimpressed look as he says it. He's not joking.
You give him an exaggerated eye roll and shake your head. "You told me you'd be good for advice, Miller."
"That's my best advice, Princess," he says easily, crossing his arms over his chest. His beer can lazily hanging in his fingertips. Which are lightly gripping the top.
You swallow, watching as Kayden chugs an impressive amount of whatever alcohol was mixed in the jug of what used to be Arizona tea. "I guess I should probably introduce myself."
Joel's jaw clenches as he watches you go, wanting to grab you and shake sense into you. What could you possibly see in that guy? What could possibly be romantic about a arizona jug with a unexplained green liquid sloshing around inside it? What could possibly be attractive about the piss-water beer he was spilling all over himself. With one tight squeeze, he crashes the can, wandering away to find a recycle bin.
He heads back inside reluctantly, chewing the inside of his cheek while his mind churns out a million scenarios where you turn out hurt. Or someone else's. A huff escapes his lips as he tosses the can into the recycle bin and immediately heads into the kitchen for another. In the kitchen, there's a group of other Mario characters. Joel clocks them as Luigi's group. He wonders if they know poor Luigi is puking his guts out.
Laughing to himself, he cracks open a second beer and leans against the counter, observing as people come and go from the kitchen. He sips slowly, judging people's costumes, laughter, and their drunken speeches. He wonders how people got drunk so fast, or if him and your group really arrived as late as Nessa made it seem. He sets his beer down next to him, still holding onto your Dr Pepper. His hand covering the open top. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees a princess peach approaching. Her dress short, and white knee high boots. Her blonde hair was curled and she had a tiny crown on her head. She looked good.
"You're bleeding." She says, pointing to his empty hand. Looking down, he realized he must've cut himself while crushing his can in his earlier frustration.
He looks back up with a slow blink, "thanks." He grumbles, not really sure what to say, "you know if they keep a first aid kit in this dump?"
Peach laughs with a nod, moving past him and looking under the sink. She grabs out a small, red first aid kit. Joel sets down your Dr Pepper. He moves to the sink, washing off the blood from the small, deep cut. He rips a paper towel from his freehand and dabs the cut. Once he's finished, Peach put a paw patrol bandaid on the left side of his palm, where the cut is.
"All fixed, soldier." She says with a giggle.
"Thanks," he says, inspecting the bandaid made for children, "oh, and if you're missing a Luigi, he's out on the lawn. Buddy seems like he's had a rough night.
Peach let's out a loud giggle, Joel flinches at the sound. "Oh, that's just Damon. He's been drinking since noon."
"Since noon?"
"Yeah, it's normal i promise." She says, her hand falling onto his bicep as she laughs. She squeezes it lightly and his eyes widen slightly.
Joel shifts, not really sure how to handle a unwanted touch from a stranger. Her hand dropped as soon as it came. He let out a huff in relief, shifting his converse against the kitchen tile. "He should probably stop drinkin' so much." He said awkwardly.
      Peach shrugs, "it's college."
At the tail end of their conversation, you slip into the kitchen. You're red hood is down now, and your solo cup is completely empty. Having been downed after you listens to Kayden tell you about football through a slurred voice. After realizing there was no chance of social resuscitation, you head inside to find Joel. Hopefully getting the hell out of there. You walk through the sliding glass door and through the dining room. When you reach the kitchen you stop in you tracks at the sight of Joel.
As you stand there, a realization creeps up on you. You've seen this film. You've seen it a thousand times. Every time you've entered a room, you've watched it play. A perfect play through every single time. Joel stands against the kitchen counter with another beer in his hands. He's grumbling something to a girl dressed as Princess Peach. As she laughs at what he said, her delicate hand slaps his bicep, grabbing onto it as she leans forward and lets out a flirtatious giggle. You watch him blink slowly, realizing whatever he said to the girl wasn't a joke. He wasn't trying to be funny.
Continuing to watch, you stand in the entrance. He stands up from where he was leaning on the counter, no longer relying on it to hold him up. You watch as he slams his second beer, your Dr Pepper still in his right hand. His hand is covering the top. Another few blinks and his whiskey eyes are on you.
Everything from there feels like a total cliche. He turns away from Princess Peach, eyes still on you. He mutters a farewell. You watch him closely as he stares you down. He's crossing the room, eyes fixated on your form. The white pirate-styled top, and the brown vest. His eyes fall to the short red skirt and the beat up converse on your feet. The noise around you cancels out into merely a whisper, your heartbeat gets faster as you realize what's happening to you. No, what's happened. What's always been there. What is becoming so painfully obvious that you physically can't keep up with the way your brain spins.
He's there and everyone else is just an obstacle. Blocking you from running to him. You wonder if that's how it's been this whole time. If your own stupidity and oblivious nature has been your obstacle this whole time. If this moment was destined since you had plopped a boat made out of the gum wrapper from the gum he gave you on his desk in 6th grade. You wonder if had he asked you to homecoming instead of Charlie Winkler, would you have already realized it. Would you have already realized that there's absolutely no one in this world that makes you feel the way he does?
As he gets closer, fire spreads through your body, and suddenly he's grabbing your wrist. He says something, but you're locked into a shock induced state. You completely zone out as his face leans closer. Your eyes take in his thick, furrowed brow and the slight scrunch on his forehead. His lips are downturned and you suddenly realize how long it's been since he's shaved. His stubble much longer than he had ever kept it before.
"Hey, you good?" His smooth drawl snaps you back into reality, he's waving a large hand in front of your face, "Earth to College."
You blink a few times, "Joel. Hi." You choke out awkwardly, staring at him.
     "You good? Where's Kyle?"
"Kayden." You correct, throwing out your solo cup. Then grabbing the Dr Pepper from his hands and throwing that out too.
"Same thing," he shrugs, "Where is he?"
"I wasn't into him." You say quickly, "Wanna get some air? I'm feeling a little overwhelmed."
He immediately looks concerned, his hand landing on the small of your back, "What's wrong? Are you alright?"
You nod quickly, "I'm fine, i promise. C'mon, let's go upstairs."
You grab his hand and lead him out to the living room and up the stairs of the frat. He follows behind, holding onto your hand tightly. He looks behind and around himself, not really knowing what to expect. Or what people would think about people heading into the bedroom of a frat member without said frat member being present.
You reach a door with Theo's name on it. Carefully, you peak your head in. Once you know it's clear of horny and drunk college students, you open the door fully. Joel steps through, looking around at the slightly messy room.
"You're sure we can be up here?" Joel says, awkwardly shifting his weight as you plop down on Theo's bed.
"He said I could use it if i needed too." You smile, playing with the hem of your skirt.
He just nods, converse dragging slightly on the rug under his feet and towards the bed. As he sits down slowly, you listen to the muffled music from the yard. A shitty, yet classic, Pitbull song plays and you hear drunken screams. You ignore it, not wanting to focus on anything else but the overbearing scent of Joel's teakwood cologne. The one you got him for his 20th birthday. How was he so perfect?
"So, that kid didn't catch your interest?" Joel asks, his sweaty hands rubbing on the denim covering his thighs.
"He smelled like wet pennies," you laugh, nudging his shoulder lightly.
He laughs with you. It's thunderous sound, one you've always been incredibly fond of. You giggle slightly, a lovesick haze clouding your brain as he looks over to you. For a moment, it's quiet between you both. A complete contrast to the chaos outside. Both of your breathing the only sound left in the room. His eyes flicking from your eyes to your cherry red lips. He snaps out of his daze, looking forwards, "I think if someone told me I smelled like pennies, I'd cry." He says teasingly, nudging your knee.
"You don't smell like pennies." You lean closer.
    "Promise?"
"Promise." You nod, giggling as you lean your head on his shoulder.
His arm wraps around you, rubbing your shoulder over your smooth red cape. The hood tangled in the back from ripping it off your head after Kayden accidentally spilled his unidentified alcohol beverage on it earlier. You nuzzle your head on his muscular shoulder, inhaling his strong scent. His navy crewneck is soft against your cheek as you look down at the dark denim on his strong thighs.
You both sit in silence for a few moment, the tension in the air getting thicker as the seconds tick by. Eventually, you get restless. Your voice cuts through the quiet room as you lift your head up slightly to look up at him. "You want to stay with me in the dorms tonight?" You ask softly.
"I would love that." he says softly, leaning forward and placing his forehead on yours. His hand reaches to grab your wrist as it sits on your lap. He rubs your wrist slowly, running across a prominent vein that meets your palm.
Suddenly, his free hand wraps around the back of your head, gently and quickly pulling you in. Before you can process whats happening, his lips press against yours. You melt into the kiss without another thought. His hand slides down and holds your face, his other hand dropping your wrist and reaching up behind your head. His long fingers running through your hair as you kiss. Your hands lay on his chest, squeezing him slightly when he pressed deeper. The kiss turns to into a heavy make out as he starts getting a bit carried away at the taste of your cherry lipstick. The kiss gets sloppy, making you squeeze your thighs together from the sudden burn between your legs. He breaks the kiss, breathing heavy, his hands on your hips. He's looking down at you with rosy cheeks. "Was that okay?" His voice was soft.
You pant softly, your lips swollen from his passionate kiss. "Mhm," you nod.
He quickly steals another kiss from you, shifting to face you. You go right back to making out again. He has a tight hold on your waist with one hand. His left hand traveling up to your back. You hold yourself up on the bed with your hand spread behind you. Your arm is thrown over his shoulder and around the back of his neck. His tongue pushes against yours, pulling you in for a kiss. It lasts for a few seconds that seem to be last a lifetime. His hand grips tighter at your waist, breathing heavily after he eventually broke the kiss. "I want you.." He whispers. His eyes are heavy and he's gazing at you in a way you didn't believe was possible.
"I'm yours." You whisper without another thought, smiling.
He pulls himself even closer, slowly and gently lying you down before leaning on top of you. He places his hand flat on your spine, whilst his other hand goes to your thigh. He kisses your neck and collarbone, the taste of your skin driving him crazy. For a moment, he loses himself in the taste, before he begins to wonder if you're feeling alright. He pauses again, letting himself catch breath before checking on you. "Are you comfortable? Do you want to continue this?"
You nod, your fingers playing with the curls on the back of his neck. His hand is on your thigh, rubbing it lightly. "Yeah, I'm comfortable." You nod softly.
He beams, a slight huff of excited laughter hitting your face. "You'll let me know if it's too much?" He asks softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
"Mhm." You hum, pushing his head down to continue the kiss. He happily accepts the invitation, squeezing your thigh gently as his other arm is still wrapping under you as you lay on Theo's bed.
You both make out for a few more minutes. The touches become more and more heated with each second. Your nails dig into his shoulders as his hand travels up your thigh to rest on your hip underneath your skirt. A small moan rumbles against his lips as your back arched slightly against the mattress. His finger loops under the band of underwear on your hip.
As he begins to tug slightly, the door flys open and you and Joel rip apart from each other. Joel hops off the bed, scratching the back of his neck as his other hand travels to his front pocket. A poor attempt to hide the bulge in his jeans. You sit up on the bed, fixing your skirt and hair as you both look at the door.
Theo and Nessa stand at the door, their jaws dropped open at the sight in front of them. “No way,” A drunken Nessa giggled, covering her mouth.
“Nessa! Hi!” You squeak, getting up from the bed as the two drunken vampires giggle.
Joel’s face is beet red as his hands are stuck into his front pockets. You look over to see red lipstick smudged on his lips, some even in his stubble. You got hit with embarrassment, using your thumb to wipe around your lips to wipe off any smudged lipstick. “We were just getting some air.”
“More like sharing some air,” Theo laughs.
“Go back to the dorms,” Nessa smirks. “I’ll be here tonight.”
Instead of arguing you nod, grabbing onto Joel’s arm and leading him out of the room. The door closes behind you and you both look at each other in awe and embarrassment.
“Dude.” You breath out, a slow smile creeping onto your lips.
“That…” he tries to find words in his flustered state, “that was awkward.”
You both laugh, leaning into each other in a post make out haze. He tugs you into his arms for a moment, pulling you close as he rubs your back slowly. He presses a firm kiss to the crown of your head before pulling apart again.
“Should we head to your dorm?” He asks softly, biting the inside of his lip.
You smirk, grabbing his wrist. “C’mon, cowboy.”

i just saw a tiktok of the i carly episode where carly is running away from the nerdy guy bc he kept trying to kiss her and now i’m thinking bucky.
like you’re steve’s sister and you’ve always been seen as the stereotypical “annoying younger sister” while you have the stereotypical “crush on your brothers best friend.” no biggie.
he would come over all the time, hang out, watch movies, spend the night, whatever. sometimes he even came over just because he’s board and waiting on steve to get back from one of his courses or something.
he was nice to you though, as much as he liked to agree with steve that you were a nuisance. the soft smiles he gave you proved otherwise.
sometimes he would even invite you to watch movies with them, going as far as to wrapping his arm around you if you got scared during a particularly gruesome halloween movie marathon.
but there’s one day in particular where your government professor demanded your project be worked on in pairs and this guy was very persistent in being your partner. as soon as it was announced to be partner work, he was turning to you and writing down his number. you didn’t really get a chance to say no to the guy.
you think his name was john? Lord knows.
so there you were, upstairs in your room, trying to get a game plan for this treacherous project. well, the project itself wouldn’t be treacherous, but working with john would be.
“okay, so they want us to map out the different circuits in the-“
“yea, yea whatever,” he cut you off as you began writing in your notebook, taking your pencil and the paper to set it aside. “we both know that’s not why i’m here.”
you waited a breath, “actually, that is why you’re here. that’s the only reason i even talked to you,” you shrugged with your brows pulled together in confusion.
as much as you try to be a nice person, this guy had practically forced you to partner with him and you’d be damned if he’s going to assume your own intentions.
“sure it is,” he inched closer to you, his hand trailing up to your cheek before you got up from your chair and pushed him away by nudging his chest.
“woah there, buddy boy,” you scoffed as you backed away from him. “i dunno what signals you misread here, but i’m not into-“
“i’m not misreading anything,” he shook his head as he stepped closer to you. “i get it though; you wanna play hard to get. it’s cute, really.”
“i see,” he forced out a laugh. “this is a joke. not a very good one, but points for trying,” you gave him two thumbs up before pushing his chest once more with your fist. “now back away.”
he leaned in once more before you dodged out of his way, pushing him down and beelining for the door, screaming steve’s name in your wake.
“steve! stevie! he’s trying to kiss me!” you continued as you finally made your way to the living room where he and bucky typically resided.
upon entrance, there was no steve to be seen, but you heard johns footsteps following not too far behind. bucky, however, was there. he was already on his feet, making his way towards you in your panting state.
“what’s goin’ on?” one of his hands went for your shoulder, the other going towards your waist. “breathe for me, doll.”
“he’s trying to shove his lips on my face and i don’t want that,” you dramatically paraphrased.
his face went stoic at your admission before he turned towards the incoming footsteps. john froze as his sight landed on bucky. you swore you heard an audible gulp as bucky approached him. you were sure from john’s perspective he had augmented himself to appear more threatening. not that bucky needed it, he had plenty of muscle that when paired with the right look, he could be easily intimidating.
“i didn’t-“ john cut himself off as bucky stood right before him. “i swear, i-“
“are you trying to say you didn’t try to kiss her?” he cut john off. “are you calling her a liar?” he barely towered over the pathetic man, but with the way john was cowering bucky had seemed five feet taller than him. “my princess isn’t a liar.”
“no! no, i-“ he threw his hands up in defense.
“i mean, i get she’s gorgeous, but that doesn’t mean you get to do whatever you want with her,” bucky shoved his shoulder gently. “didn’t your ma’ ever teach you how to properly court a lady?”
“she-i’m sorry, man,” john panted out. “look, i didn’t know she was taken, like at all. i didn’t mean any-“
“i don’t care what you meant,” he swiftly grabbed his arm and turned john around, pinning it behind his back as he hissed out in pain. “i don’t ever want to see you so much as breathe near her again, got it?”
“yea-yes!” he nodded exaggeratedly. “i swear, man! i won’t be a problem!”
“good,” he used this time to usher him out the door, slamming it as soon as he turned back around.
“thank you, jamie,” you sighed as you plopped down on the coach where he had once resided. “i don’t even know why he thought he would be able to pull that off,” you scoffed as you shook your head, grabbing the remote and changing the channel.
“hey, i was watching a documentary!” he interrupted your thought process as he snatched the remote from your hands.
you chuckled lightly as you replayed the entire scene in your head. you kicked your feet up on the ottoman, trying to bite back a smile as you said, “so… you think i’m gorgeous, huh?”
he sighed as he plopped down beside you, his arm thrown on the back of the couch, “if you ever tell steve he’s gonna chop my head off.”
“well, as your princess, i can’t let that happen, can i?” you teased as you gently nudged his shoulder.
“look, that got him off your back, didn’t it?” his voice rose an entire octave as he threw his hands up in defense.
“he also thought i was taken,” you pointed out. “probably by you, might i add.”
“look, he got out of your hair, right?” you nodded. “then my job is done.”
“i’m just saying,” you sighed as you stared at the boring documentary he certainly was no longer focused on. “he’s probably gonna tell his friends. then they’re gonna tell their friends, and you get the point. meaning now everyone’s gonna think i’m taken by some strong, protective… guy.”
“what’s so bad about that?” he chuckled as he didn’t try at all to hide his little smile. “you don’t want people thinking i’m your strong, protective guy?”
“no, it’s just that-“
“sorry i’m late, buck!” steve rushed in the door.
you and bucky inched away from one another, which was odd. you weren’t doing anything, but it felt like you had crossed a line.
“debate went on so much longer this time, an argument broke out and then we had to recollect before final rebuttals and everything,” he rambled out as he plopped down in his favorite recliner. “so, how’re you guys doing?”
“we’re-“
“fine,” bucky cut you off. “we’re fine. nothing eventful. nothing happened. nothing at all, really.”
he turned to you with a slight smirk before turning back to steve.
oh, this was gonna be fun.

You did it - you graduated. You fucking graduated.
The smile on your face was so big it hurt as you searched the seats for your Bucky. Other than Val and Ana, who were in this crowd of caps and gowns with you, Bucky was the only one here for you.
You hadn't told your parents about the graduation ceremony. They didn't agree with the art path you'd chosen and they'd been anything but supportive. So, you left them out of your big day. But that was okay, because Bucky with his gray blue eyes - the ones that reminded you of an ocean storm - were glinting with pride when you found them.
Bucky was the one that had been there through your countless nights of studying for finals. He would even read through your final papers, giving you a second set of eyes on your work. He took care of you when you ran yourself into the ground, prying your studies from your hands and drawing you a bath. He'd sit with you, wash your hair and help you relax. When you'd be ready to get out, he'd pat you down with a fluffy warm towel before making you come undone on his tongue or his fingers. Afterwards, you'd sit down with a clear mind and ready to work on the next thing.
He was standing at the bottom of the stands, trying to stay as out of the way as best he could. When you spotted each other, his smile grew to match yours. There were flowers in his right hand and a colorful lei in his left. His arms flew out, almost smacking the family that was passing him with the flowers before he stepped toward you.
You closed the distance faster than he planned to, jumping at him and wrapping your arms around his neck as a fit of giggles burst from your lips. His arms secured around your sides to keep you steady as he caught his balance, burying his nose in the crook of your neck in the process.
"God, I'm so proud of you, sugar," he spoke into your skin before placing a kiss there and pulling away. He slipped just far enough from your grasp to hand you the bouquet - the sunflowers and roses and baby's breath radiant in the sunshine. While your head was ducked down to look at the flowers, he gently placed the matching lei over you to rest around your neck.
You looked up at him after he deemed it was in a good spot and he stopped messing with it.
"Thanks, Bucky," You leaned up to press a kiss to his lips, his hands coming up to cup your cheeks. He hummed into your lips before pulling away, rubbing his calloused thumbs along the apples of your cheeks.
"We need a picture," He said, suddenly looking around for someone to take a photo of the two of you. You couldn't hold in the giggle that slipped past your lips as he stopped someone, a guy who happily stopped and set his stuff down. He took Bucky's phone, and Bucky stepped back towards you, wrapping his arm around you and pulling you to him.
You smiled, made funny faces at the camera and each other, kissed, smiled again. The stranger was more than happy to take as many as you two wanted. But you told him just one more nice one, offering him a smile.
But something caught your eye.
You could feel Bucky nudging you, trying to gain your attention, but you couldn't pull your eyes away. Bucky's blurry figure reached for his phone from the man, thanking him you're sure - and apologizing for your sudden change in behavior. Once the man was gone, he stepped in front of you, blocking your eyes from what they were locked on.
"Hey," He grasped the sides of your arms, leaning down just a bit to be eye level with you, finally getting your attention. "What's wrong?"
Before you got the chance to answer, you both heard your name being called from just behind Bucky. You watched his brows scrunch in curiosity at the unrecognizable voices before he looked over his shoulder. He turned back to you, worry lining every crease of his features.
"Who're they?" He whispered, before they could get close enough.
You took a breath to try to steel yourself against the disapproval and disappointment you were sure was coming your way. "My parents."
Bucky's demeanor shifted immediately. To anyone else, it would appear as if he was just standing up straight, getting ready to greet someone, but you could feel the tenseness in his hands. They tightened just a bit, squeezing the flesh of your arm before they dragged down to your hands.
"Do you want me to tell them to leave?" He asked, and you knew he would. He would do anything you asked.
But you needed to face this yourself. This wasn't like when John showed up at your door and you couldn't have cared less what happened. You'd never see him again. These were your parents, and as much as they haven't been around lately, if there was a chance you could have a good relationship with them, you had to try.
You needed to try.
"No," You muttered, watching them get closer, "I got it." He gave you a tiny nod, and kissed the top of your head before turning out of the way, sliding his fingers in between your own - giving you an anchor point just in case.
"What're you guys doing here?" You asked as they walked up to you. Your father held his arms out, waiting for a hug. You begrudgingly let go of Bucky's hand, handed him your bouquet and wrapped your arms around your father.
It was awkward at first, after going so long without this, but at the same time it was really nice to have a hug from him again. He let you go and your mother held her arms out in a similar way, and you hugged her too.
"Oh it's so good to see you, honey," She said, squeezing you a little too tight and planting a kiss on your cheek before letting you go.
"Uh, yeah," You backed away, your hand reaching for Bucky's behind you. He laced your fingers together immediately. "But what are you doing here?"
"Well we wanted to see our girl walk the stage!" Your father exclaimed, putting his hands on his hips.
"How did you know where it was? Or when it was? I never sent out an invite," You muttered, hoping they wouldn't be too upset about that fact.
"Well, we still get mail from the school. They sent it to us," Your mom answered, "Though we would've loved a call from you instead."
"Yeah, sorry," you said.
"Well, honey, aren't you going to introduce us to your friend here?" Your mother asked, gesturing to Bucky.
"Right, right, um," You turned to look at him, a tight smile gracing his lips, "This is James, my boyfriend. James, these are my parents."
He plastered on a smile you could tell was forced and he offered his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you." He shook their hands before stepping back behind you.
"We'd love to take you to dinner to celebrate, if you have time?" Your mother asked, hope dripping from her words.
"Oh, uh," You looked at Bucky, "Do we have time before you need to be at the bar?"
If you were going to take this opportunity, you wanted Bucky there. Not for anything in particular, but just to be with you - so you weren't alone with them. That simple thought had your insides churning. But if he had work, then you just wouldn't go and that was just fine with you too.
He tilted his head down so your parents wouldn't hear, "We have time if you want to go, but I can always say we don't have time. It's up to you." He leaned back again, looking at you with such sincerity you almost lost your breath and you had to tear your eyes from his back to your parents.
"Sure,” you said with a tight smile, “We can do a short dinner."
~
Dinner was going surprisingly well - so far. Your parents hadn't brought up the art career thing, and they were actually being extremely pleasant and being nice to Bucky too which was a bonus. Maybe this could work after all.
"If you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go wash up." He leaned over, placing a gentle kiss on your cheek before he stood and walked off to the restroom.
"You didn't have to bring him you know," your mother said, not even looking up from her plate. "We don't bite."
"I'm sorry?"
"The man," she elaborated as if that made everything that much clearer.
"You mean my boyfriend?"
"We just think it's time you come home, honey. Find you a nice place not too far from the house, how does that sound," your father tried to change the subject.
"I don't want to come home."
"Why not? We're there," your father started. You gave him a moment to try and think of something else as a reason, but he fumbled, and eventually settled on, "Some of your old friends are still there, too."
"I want to stay here, with Bucky," You explained, setting your fork down and twisting the napkin in your lap.
"You shouldn't even be with him sweetie," Your mom stated, "Spending every night in a filthy bar, doing god knows what. It's not right, not for you."
You tilted your nose up just a tad, and steeled your gaze as best you could. Bucky had given you a few examples of how to at least look like nothings getting to you over the past few months whenever you got to watch him throw someone out of the bar. So you used what you could remember and just hoped it was working.
"How do you know if it's filthy? You've never been there."
"Well, even so, you still shouldn't be wasting your time there. You need to be working towards a career."
"I am," You explained, "I go to the bar to paint. I paint pictures of the customers, if they agree, and most do. I'm building my portfo—"
"Oh honey, don't you think it's time to give that up?" Your mother asked, "You don't really expect to make a living with that do you?"
It was like a punch to the gut, just like it was every time. Your stomach dropped and took all your breath with you. Looking down at your hands, you couldn't help the half hearted chuckle that you let slip. You had a feeling this is how it would go. That they weren't really here to celebrate with you. To celebrate you. They were just here to try to take you home. To get you to put yourself in a job you hated in some gloomy office like they did.
God forbid you tried to do something you loved.
Shaking your head, you took a breath. "You guys are unbelievable." You muttered.
"Honey, you need to speak up, you know it's impolite to—"
"You're unbelievable." You cut off your father, looking up and staring them both down. "Un-fucking-believable."
You pulled your napkin from your lap, throwing it on the table as you gathered your purse.
"What're you doing?" Your mother demanded as you stood.
"You're unbelievable," you sneered, "God, I thought — I thought maybe, just maybe, this time was different." You shouldered your purse and dusted the wrinkles from the skirt of your dress.
"What do you mean?" Your mother asked.
"You guys won't let me just be happy will you? You want to see me live my life the same way you lived yours and here's a newsflash for you — I don't want that. I never have and I never will. Being successful isn't all about how much money you make, or if you're fucking CEO of some uptight company." You took a breath to steady yourself, the weight on your chest starting to feel too heavy as it clogged your throat and pricked at your eyes. Crying when you're mad - it was why you never talked back. Well, you’d talked back, but not like this.  But enough was enough.
"That man's gotten in your head hasn't he," Your mother suggested, and that was the final straw.
"How dare you," You stated. "Why can't you take credit for what you say? Or the way you made me feel all these years. Bucky has been nothing but perfect to me. He makes me feel heard and seen. He supports me, why can't you?"
You fought the tears in your eyes as you heard a certain pair of footsteps approaching.
"Hey, what's going on?" Bucky asked as he walked up, but then he turned to you and his face fell. The easy going look in his eyes morphed into concern and worry as he reached for your cheeks. "Hey, what's wrong?"
You caught his hands, pulling them down. "We're leaving." His back straightened as he nodded, letting go of your hands for just long enough to grab his jacket.
He glanced at your parents who were still sitting at the table and he muttered, "It was nice meeting you. Don't worry about the bill, it's already taken care of."
You turned at that, because of course he would sneak away to pay, he did that half the time when you went on double dates with Steve and Peggy — Steve taking it the other half of the time. You should've known he wasn't actually going to the restroom.
Within a moment he was next to you, his hand on the small of your back.
He helped you into the car, where you took some deep breaths to try and calm down.
You didn’t know if you were angry at them for doing this to you again. Breaking you down to tears just because you weren’t like them. Or if you were angry at yourself for allowing them a moment to do it again. For allowing it to even get to you after all this time. For giving them a reaction.
A squeeze to your bare thigh caught your attention, and you blinked out of your thoughts. Bucky at some point had moved the car. You were parked again but no longer in front of the restaurant.
“Do you want to talk about what happened,” he gently asked, his voice just barely above a whisper as he squeezed your leg again before he flipped his hand over, holding it open, waiting for you to take it. You laced your fingers together, allowing the feel of his calloused hand in yours to complete grounding you, to bring you out of your head so you could be present in this car with him.
“It's nothing that hasn’t happened before.” Even them trying to blame Bucky wasn’t new. They always tried to blame someone else as the reason why you wouldn’t listen to them — obey them. "I should be used to it by now."
"Don't say that."
"Why not? It's not like they said anything I haven't heard before," You looked at him now, allowing him to see the tear streaks that ran down your cheeks and the redness to your eyes. "I shouldn't have given them a chance to do that. We shouldn't have gone to dinner with them."
"Maybe," He started, reaching up to wipe your cheeks with his knuckles, "But now you can say you tried. And I think trying at least is worth it." He wrapped his hand around the back of your neck, pulling you forward so he could kiss your forehead, "And it shouldn't matter if you think you should be 'used to it' by now, they shouldn't speak to you like that. Especially because you're their daughter."
You hummed in agreement, closing your eyes and taking a moment to revel in the feeling of his hand still on the back of your neck. He pulled you further forward into his neck. Taking a deep inhale, you let the smell of sandalwood and leather - the smell of him - flood your senses, calming you. You didn't even care that you were smushed together over the center console, it's leather rubbing uncomfortably against your skin.
He let you stay there for a moment as he cradled your head against him with one hand and traced delicate patterns over your arm with his other.
"Well," He mumbled into your hair, "You're all dolled up, let's go celebrate you."
You pulled your head away from his neck to sit back in your seat. "I kind of just want to go home." You muttered, glancing at him from where you sat.
He sighed, "You don't wanna try to save the night?"
"I mean yeah that'd be nice," You fiddled with the skirt to your dress as the weight on your chest just grew heavier by the minute. "If I didn't feel like this right now."
"Will you let me try to save it?" He asked. You turned to him, narrowing your eyes as you watched him. A small smile started to grow on your lips as you saw his tells.
"What did you do?" He put his eyes back towards the road as he pulled the car away from the curb with a smirk on his lips.
"I didn't do anything," He said, relaxing into his seat as if you weren't staring holes into the side of his face. "Quit your staring."
"No," You said, turning your body in our seat to angle towards him, "Not until you tell me what you did."
"I told you, I didn't do anything."
"You're lying. You get this smugness about you when you lie," You commented and his face twitched.
"I do not."
"You do," You sat back in your seat, crossing your arms over your chest without taking your eyes off of him. "Your lips start twitching and your left eyebrow raises just a hair."
He laughed, glancing between you and the road. "I didn't do anything, but just let me make tonight better okay?" He placed his hand on your thigh again, gripping your muscle.
"Fine, if you must," You jokingly sneered at him, scrunching your nose and getting another laugh in return as his hand started to massage your leg.
The weight in your chest was still there, but it was lighter now - manageable. You could breathe again, and you no longer had tears in your lashes. A wave of gratitude washed over you, flooding your senses as you looked out to the road. You didn't know what you'd do if you didn't have Bucky there to keep you somewhat grounded. What else they would've tried to say had he not been there, creating an opening for you to exit the conversation.
And you didn't even want to think about how you would've handled the aftermath had you not had him with you. Before him, you would've locked yourself in your room, letting the sadness and the grief take hold of your heart as you cried. Ana would come home and she would pick up on it right away, and she always knew it was because of them. She would dig out your favorite movie, make popcorn and drag you out of your room, making you spend time with her. She always got through to you, eventually cheering you up.
But Bucky was different. He'd become your calm. Just having his hand in yours or resting on your leg like it was now, was enough to keep you from sinking into the sorrow. The way he'd get you to smile or laugh, sometimes even turning your tears into laughing ones.
A brush against your clothed core pulled you from your head and you looked down.
His hand had dragged up your thigh, pushing your skirt up, and his pinky was lightly dragging across the front of your panties. You turned your head to face him.
"What do you think you're doing?" You asked, fighting the smile that was trying to break through.
"Oh, nothing," He muttered, not taking his eyes off the road as his fingers found the edge of the fabric and pulled it aside.
"It doesn't seem like -" a small gasp broke past your lips as he slipped his middle and ring finger through your folds, "- like nothing."
He smirked, side eyeing you. "I'm just having some fun."
You went to retort, to say anything in return, but you fell silent at the feeling of his two fingers sinking into you, all the way to the knuckle.
"Just relax," he whispered, slowly dragging his fingers out before sinking them back in. "Let daddy play with you."
He continued slowly torturing you, slowly pumping his fingers in and out, occasionally removing them to play with your clit before putting them back. All the while, driving to the bar, with a smirk on his face and pretending you weren't moaning in your seat and that he wasn't doing anything at all. As if he wasn't getting you to grind down on his hand as you tried to get just a little more friction from his skin or to get his fingers just a little deeper.
You hated when he did stuff like this to you. Tease you just because he can and because he does it so well. But you couldn't help but love it.
It always made what came after that much better.
He pulled into his spot in the parking lot, removing his fingers from you and throwing the car in park before he raised his fingers to his lips, wrapping them around his digits, cleaning them of your juices.
"C'mon," He said, moving to open the door.
"You're not gonna finish what you started?" You asked, your jaw slacked open as you watched him step out.
"I will," he winked at you, "if you're good tonight."
His door shut and you scoffed, whipping your head around to push your door open before he could get to it.
"That's just mean," You swung your legs out of the car, your heels touching down on the loose gravel. Before you could push yourself up, there was a hand in front of you attached to a scowling Bucky. You could tell it was fake though, the way his lips twitched giving it away.
He didn't respond, choosing to lean in and planted a kiss on your neck instead, sending shivers down your spine that settled low in your core. Damn him.
You let him help you out of the car, doing your best to ignore how wet you were as you grasped his hand and allowed him to support you as you stood. Even in your heels, you were still shorter than him. He leaned down, grabbing your purse from your seat and handing it to you before offering his elbow to help keep steady as you walked through the door to the bar.
He pulled the door open for you, allowing you to step through first.
The second you walked in, the bar erupted in cheers, startling you as all of your friends appeared before you. Ana and Val ran up to you, engulfing you in a tight embrace as you looked around, trying to take it all in.
There was a banner hung over the bar that had graduation caps drawn on it and Congratulations written across it in bubble letters. A platter of cupcakes and a stack of party hats were set up along the bar top and confetti littering every other surface.
All of Bucky's regulars, who allowed you to paint portraits of them, were scattered around the room, all clapping and hollering. Steve and Peggy stood behind the bar with Sam and Natalia. And even some of your classmates were scattered among the other patrons.
"What is this?" You turned to Bucky who stood behind you.
"We all wanted to throw you a party," he explained, "Everyone chipped in to celebrate you-"
"Don't let him be humble about this!" Sam shouted over the crowd, "He planned all of this!"
You looked back to Bucky, seeing his cheeks flare as he tried to avoid your eyes. This was one of the things you loved about him.  He loved to do things for you, but the second he had to own up to the fact that it was his idea, he got shy and flustered.
You tore yourself from your friend's arms and buried your face in his chest, wrapping your hands around his back. His arms settled around your shoulders, wrapping around your head as he rested his cheek on top of your hair.
"Thanks Bucky," you muttered against the fabric of his shirt and the rumble of his voice vibrated your lips when he replied.
"You're welcome, sugar," he pulled you back so he could see you, "I'm proud of you. We all are."
~
Watching you dance your heart out was one of Bucky's favorite things to do. The way you moved your hips, swaying to the beat and making your skirt flow around your legs. The fabric wrapped around your legs, giving him teasing peeks of your upper thighs as it fluttered a little too high when you spun around. It was a bonus that you wore heels tonight - your legs looked stunning.
You always had a carefree smile on your face when you danced too. As if you were so lost in the music that everyone else faded away. Except for Bucky. And he knew it too.
He'd get up next to you, lightly brushing his fingers against the exposed skin of your arms or your back, leaning down to plant a kiss on your neck. Your body always responded to his, leaning into his touch, letting the movement of his hands guide the way your body swayed. Tipping your head to the side, giving him more access to the skin of your neck. But it would only last for a few minutes.
Then he'd be gone, slipping past you to get to Steve, or to Sam, or to the cake. Leaving you to dance and mingle with everyone who showed up for you.
You'd reach out in the direction he left, trying to catch his hand or his arm before he got too far, but you were never quite quick enough. He was still teasing you, and he knew it was working.
The darkness alone in your irises made his breath hitch, swallowing around the sudden dryness. But then you had to go and run your fingers through your hair, pushing it away from your face as you gnawed on the edge of your bottom lip.
If he didn't do something about you soon, the rest of the party would be in for a show to say the least. They almost did get a show when you were playing pool with your friends, the way you looked bent over the pool table had him in a chokehold and he had to restrain himself from taking you then and there.
He made his way to you, the way your body turned on instinct to allow him the space to be near you telling him you knew he was coming before you looked at him.
"Come with me," Bucky's lips brushed against your ear as spoke, his breath tickling your skin and his arms coming to wrap around your waist. You turned your head to face him, your noses brushing as he pulled back.
You nodded, grabbing his hand so he could lead you to his office. The click of your heels against the hardwood floor was like a ticking clock as you followed him. Once that door closed, it was only a matter of time until he had you coming undone. Whether it was going to be on his tongue, his fingers, his thigh, or his cock - well that was the question that'd taken over your brain.
You stepped into his office, the click of the door and the lock ringing in your ears as you looked around.
You'd been in here plenty of times, but Bucky had a habit of rearranging more often than he probably should. Almost every time, something was moved around and it had almost become a game for you to find what he changed.
It never took you long though, and this time was no different. After a quick glance around, you spotted the frame on his desk. Usually, any photos or any of your paintings he'd have on the wall. He rarely kept things on his desk that weren't work related, so this was definitely new.
You walked around the side of the solid wood desk, dragging your fingers along its smooth surface until you were next to his chair. Picking up the frame, a smile broke out on your face.
"When did you have time to frame this?" You asked, turning around the photo of the two of you after your graduation ceremony from earlier that day. "We've been together literally all day."
"I have my ways," he muttered, walking around the desk to stand behind you, resting his hands on your hips and squeezing. He raised one hand, pulling the photo from your hand and setting it back on the desk.
"Oh, and I don't get to know them?" You asked as you rested your hands over his as one of them started to wander up, trailing up your stomach and your chest until it came to loosely wrap around the front of your neck. His fingers grabbed your jaw, turning your head so he could see your face.
"They aren't important right now," His lips brushed against yours as he spoke, his breath fanning your face as he glanced between your eyes and your lips and back again. His other hand slipped from your hold, moving down your skirt, and pulling the fabric up.
"What is important then?" You asked, your voice barely above a whisper as the feeling of his hand dragging across your thigh threatened to take all of your attention.
"You," his lips captured yours, pulling your bottom one between his teeth before he let your tongue tangle with his own. His fingers pushed past the fabric of your panties again and he groaned into your mouth, his hand on your jaw tightening as he pulled away. "You're still soaked."
A whine crept up your throat, and you bit your lip to try and keep it from getting out as the pads of his fingertips drew slow circles across your clit. Not once did he look away as his fingers traveled lower, pushing through your folds before two of them sunk into your core again.
Gasping, you let your lip go and your whine filled the air. His lips pursed as he shushed you, "You know I love hearing you, but if you don't want them - " he tipped his head toward the door, " - to hear you, then you gotta be quiet."
Gulping down another whine as his fingers dragged against your walls, you nodded and pushed back into him, feeling the growing bulge there.
"Please," you asked, fighting the whimper that threatened to break through.
"Please, what sugar?" He smirked. Damn him. Ever since you let that name slip a few weeks ago, he'd been using it to his advantage.
"Daddy," Your voice hitched as you swallowed another sound.
"You want my cock?" He asked, speeding up his fingers and making you arch your back into him again. Placing your hands against the table to keep you from falling over, you nodded. "Do you think you've been good tonight?"
You nodded, a weak "yes" tumbling from your lips as you fought to keep your eyes open and on him. His hand moved from your neck to the back of your head, gripping your hair as he pulled you in again, crushing his lips to yours.
"I think you deserve it," He pulled back, "You’re always such a good girl for me."
His fingers slipped out of you and he flicked them across your clit, sending a jolt through your body, before he pulled his hand away and worked on his belt. At the same time, his other hand left your hair and moved to the spot between your shoulders, gently pushing you.
"Lean over for me, baby."
You settled yourself over the desk, the coolness of it like a shock to your hot skin and the stretch in your legs from heels burning your legs in the best way. He pulled your skirt up over your butt and pulled your underwear to the side.
"Oh look at you," He whispered, sounding as wrecked as you already felt. "So pretty for me like this." He dragged his fingers through your folds again, making you push back against his touch and grip the edge of the desk as you bit your lip. "God, I love when you're soaked like this."
"Stop teasing," You whined, looking over your shoulder and not caring how desperate you might have sounded. "Please - need you."
Bucky cooed, leaning over you, "Gonna be quiet for me? Like a good girl?"
You nodded, as a whispered "promise" fell from your lips.
Your jaw slacked as the head of cock pushed through your folds, gliding back and forth, gathering as much of your slick as he could before he straightened his back and sunk into you in one movement.
A heavy breath left his lips and you could tell he was trying to be just as quiet as you, but the stifled moan that filtered through your ears made your knees weak as they slightly buckled and knocked against the drawer.
He dragged himself in and out of you slowly as he grabbed your hips, helping guide you back onto him.
"Fuck," he whispered, "you always take me so well."
A whine bubbled up and past your lips as he sped up his pace, his hips rocking into yours as he pulled your butt up so he could go even deeper. A loud groan clawed its way out of your throat as the knot in your stomach started to grow.
Bucky had ruined you for anyone else. Even yourself on some occasions - your hand proved to be almost useless compared to him now. The way he knew your body so well, knew exactly how to pull you apart the quickest way possible - or the slowest if he wanted.
He reached forward, wrapping his hand around your mouth and pulled your head back, "Shit - you drive me crazy you know that?" He huffed, pounding into you as the cup of pens knocked over, "Just wanna be buried in you forever."
You whined against his hand, thankful it was there to keep you from being found out, but your need to hear him took over your brain. Reaching your hand up, you carded your fingers through his hair before grabbing a fistful of it and tugging.
He bent forward, burying his face in your neck and moaning into your skin. He angled himself to hit that perfect spot again, nailing it over and over as your knees buckled and the knot in your gut snapped.
A silent scream broke through the gaps in his fingertips as your climax racked through you.
But he didn't stop. He kept nailing that spot at a brutal pace and the pressure began to build again. Letting go of the desk's edge, you reached up to his arm, digging your nails into his skin and leaving red lines in your wake.
The hand on your hip dived down for your clit. He rolled the bundle of nerves between his fingers in time with his thrusts, the sensation sending a jolt through your nerves. It was almost enough to send you crashing a second time. Almost
But it was the feel of his cock twitch, a warmth following as he bit your shoulder, that had you unraveling under him. A loud groan vibrated through your skin as he buried himself as deep as he could go as all of your muscles tightened and you moaned against his hand.
"Breathe, baby," he hummed into your ear. "I've got you."
Your blood was rushing in your ears once your body relaxed again and you were able to take a deep, shaky inhale through your nose, your knees finally giving out as they rested against the drawer.
"I got you," Bucky whispered again as he gently guided your head to lay against the desk before he pulled his hand off your lips and he brushed the hair from your eyes.
The dazed look you gave him had him cooing at you. "You did so well, sugar."
You hummed, blinking your eyes closed as you let the coolness of the desk cool you down, a lazy smile gracing your lips.
Once you deemed you had the strength to stand, he pulled himself from you, sliding your underwear back into place.
"I want to see myself dripping from you as we walk to the car," he said, causing another fire to light across your skin.
He reached to steady you as you stood, your legs wobbling under you. He made you sit against the edge of the desk so he could reach down and pull your heels off your feet, setting them to the side.
"I'll get the car and bring it around the front so you don't have to walk in the parking lot, okay?" He asked, seeming to see how wrecked you really were. He could tell just by the heavy but spaced out look in your eyes that you were ready to go home.
"I'll draw you a bath when we get home. How's that sound?" He stood, catching your face between his hands as he smiled at you.
"That sounds nice," You hummed, leaning forward to press your lips against his. "Will you get in with me?"
He hummed against your lips, "You know I will."
You giggled at that, pushing him off of you. "Go on then."
He chuckled at you, leaning in for one more kiss before he said he'd be quick. He left you sitting against his desk, the music from the bar filtering through the door when he opened it to step out.
You took a moment before you stood, reaching down to grab your heels and pushing yourself off the desk. You leaned over to pick up the knocked over cup of pens and saw the photo again.
The way he was looking at you nearly made you sit down. The fact that there was so much adoration in his eyes - so much love - stole your breath from you.
You never thought that you'd find someone like him - not this early in your adulthood anyways. And to be able to see him giving you that look, you couldn't help the overwhelming feeling that flooded your chest and bubbled up, tears pricking at your eyes.
"You ready?" His voice came from the doorway and you set the photo down, taking a breath and nodding. His smile faltered when you looked up and he saw the tears in your eyes, "Everything okay?"
You nodded, walking around the desk and grabbing his hand.
"Everything's perfect."

hidden truths
summary: who would have thought a childish game of 7 minutes in heaven would eventually bring you two together? (a classic enemies to lovers)
pairing: percy hynes white x reader
a/n: hi, thank you for showing so much love for the xavier fic! i’ve been working on this for a while and i’m finally happy with it. i hope you guys enjoy! for the sake of the story, percy is in his blonde era (one of his best)
warnings: really not much but there’s a part where it gets a little steamy.
…………………………………………………………………………….
percy hynes white was the epitome of an annoying frat boy. the only reason you have to tolerate him is because of mutual friends and similar classes. if you had it your way, you would never be in his presence.
“y/n, c’mon it’s not a party without you. you never miss the frat parties,” emma clings to your arm giving her best puppy dog eyes.
“fine em, i’ll go. only because i enjoy free drinks though.”
“yes! yes! me and naomi are gonna swing by your dorm to get ready,” emma gives you the biggest grin making you roll your eyes. she slides back into her seat that was sitting across from you.
“okay. who else is going?”
“if i’m not mistaken the whole group is going.”
“wait a second. which frat house party is it?”
“definitely not the one percy and georgie are in,” emma mumbled under her breath. you glared at her with a clenched jaw.
“you’ve got to be fucking kidding me. emma, you know i can’t stand percy.”
“you can’t back out! you have to just ignore him,” she looks at her phone and realized she was running late for her class. “well look at time. i gotta go but i love you and i’ll see you later!”
emma gathers all of her books off the table and rushes to give your cheek a small peck. you were sure you wanted to kill her.
“i seriously hate you!” you yell out to the girl currently running towards the door.
“no you don’t!” was the last thing you heard from her before she makes her out of the door.
-
true to her word, naomi and emma came by your shared dorm room with jenna. you still weren’t sure if you wanted to go. handling the stress of your math class with the midterm exam was enough on your plate. now you have to deal with percy for another night out.
“get dressed before we’re late,” jenna looks at you through her long mirror.
“you literally can’t be late to a frat party jenna and i have nothing to wear. so i can’t go.” you put on your best smile to make yourself seem innocent. naomi shakes her head at you and immediately walks to your closet.
she was searching for a minute before finding the perfect party outfit. naomi pulls out your black leather mini skirt with a simple dark green cropped shirt. walking over to you, she hands you the outfit and wordlessly points to the bathroom.
“oo i know just the shoes for this outfit!” emma digs through your shoes and pulls out your black chunky platform heels. she hands you the shoes as you reluctantly go to the bathroom.
once you fully got dressed and ready, you took one look in the bathroom mirror silently admitting your friends picked out a great outfit.
“see you look hot. percy isn’t gonna know what hits him,” naomi throws you a wink.
“this is torture enough. let’s go before i change my mind,” you grabbed a dark washed jean jacket and your phone. the other three girls grabbed their belongings and everyone walked out the door.
-
“okay ground rules. one, we have to let each other know when someone is leaving. two, at least try to stick together. and three, y/n try not to argue with percy,” naomi says to the three of you while linking arms with you.
“tell that to blondie.”
finally making it to the frat house, music was blasting. at least they were playing the hood music you thought to yourself.
“ladies! welcome to the party. the drinks are in the kitchen and you guys are the last of the group to come,” georgie greets all you with a smile. you take the time to hug him before stepping in.
“wow sweetheart. didn’t think you had it in you to actually dress decent,” percy gazes at you with a smug grin.
you turned to glare at him, “don’t call me that and you’re certainly not going to ruin my night.” you tried to walk pass him but he grabs your wrist to stop your movements.
“hey lighten up buttercup. it’s a party!” you scuffed at him and walked passed him again but not without making sure to bump his shoulder. you made your way to the kitchen where you seen joy, hunter, and oliver.
“y/n, don’t kill me for what i’m about to say. are you sure you and percy don’t like each other? i mean i can’t be the only one who sees the tension.”
“hunter, we have tension because we hate each other. joy can you pass me a red cup?” you take the cup from joy to start pouring your drink.
“maybe you guys just need to fuck.” jenna gasped at oliver’s words and nods her head enthusiastically .
“ollie you are so right. you guys need to like fuck it out of your systems. or at least makeout.”
“fuck off. i would never think about touching him,” you threw your drink down your throat feeling the light burn of the alcohol.
-
“y/n we’re playing 7 minutes in heaven! you gotta come play with us,” joy waved you over. sitting in a circle sat georgie, hunter, jenna, emma, oliver, naomi, joy, percy and a couple of other people you assumed where either in a frat or sorority house.
“eh why not,” you shrugged your shoulders and walked over to squeeze in the middle of oliver and naomi.
rounds go by and different pairs had gonna into the closet coming out a giggling mess. it’s what happens when you mix alcohol and single college kids.
“percy it’s your turn to spin the bottle,” hunter hands the bottle to him. percy places it on the floor and gives it a good spin. you had seen where one of the girls desperately looked like she wanted the bottle to land on her. how pathetic you thought to yourself.
please don’t land on me
please don’t land on me
please don’t land on me
you continued to chant this in your head as the bottle was nearing to a stop. holding a breath you didn’t realize you were holding the bottle finally stops. percy looks up from the bottle and eyes you, of course it lands on you.
“y/n and percy step up and get in the closet!” emma cheered clearly too excited for whatever was gonna happen. percy was the first to stand up and held a hand out to help you up. you huffed and took his hand as he gently pulled you up. huh, has his hands always been this soft?
“remember 7 minutes. no more and no less,” georgie pushes you both into the empty closet and closes the door. you were not drunk enough for this.
“so we finally alone now,” percy leaned up against one side of the wall and leaned on the other side.
“yeah, don’t try anything blondie.”
“oh c’mon sweetheart. you know you like when i flirt with you.”
“who told you that lie.”
“you did. with your body,” you could just hear the grin he had. maybe you do enjoy he’s flirty words. at least sometimes… but he could never know that due his ego. it didn’t need to be any bigger than it already was.
“how exactly did you even come up with that conclusion?” you kissed your teeth and moved both of your arms to cross in front of you. percy moves the short distance to cage you between his arms and the wall he rested his hands on above your head.
“don’t think i don’t see when you slightly squirm or your pouting face to stop you from possibly blushing. face it honey, you’re just as attracted to me as i’m attracted to you.” your breath hitched upon hearing this from him.
“careful now. one might think your head is getting a bit big there. just full of lies,” you were so glad he couldn’t actually see you. he was a little right, for some reason you’ve always been attracted to him.
“lies? yeah okay,” he bent his head down more to your face. “if i kissed you right now, you’re saying you wouldn’t kiss back?” feeling the coolness of his breath touch your lips made you nervous all of a sudden.
“no. i would not kiss back,” it was lie and both of you knew that. he chuckled lightly and shook his head.
percy takes his hands off the wall and planted one at the base of your neck while the other one was on your cheek. he pulls you into a needy kiss. immediately you responded by kissing him equally as needy. you felt him smirk into the kiss, such an asshole you thought.
he uses the hand that was on your cheek to slide down and hike your thigh up to his leg. “jump,” he low said against your lips. you completed his request with a small jump to wrap both legs around his waist. your skirt had ridden up allowing him to have more access to your ass while your arms took their place around his shoulders.
“see sweetheart? you do want me,” he teased you by nudging his nose with your nose.
“just kiss me again idiot.”
“you’re being a bit mean for someone that’s not in charge right now. you know damn well i have no problem with putting you down right now. but you wouldn’t like, would you babe?” his words were sent straight down to your core and a small whine slipped out of your mouth. you wanted him so bad.
“do you want me to beg you?” you feel his shoulders shrug upwards, “i’d love to see you beg me.”
“percy please-“ he cuts you off bringing his mouth right back on yours. your fingers start to tangle themselves into his hair pulling ever so slightly. percy lets his hands squeeze your ass making you lightly gasp. taking the quick opportunity to push his tongue into your mouth some how making you more needier than ever.
your tongues battled for dominance and he presses more into you. he maneuvers his hand in between both of your bodies to touch the waistband of your panties. you moan into his mouth, “you want me right there huh?” you nodded your head quickly as your chest felt heavy.
“i know baby,” percy bent his head to the crook of your neck and laid open mouth kisses on your neck. “the first time i finally get to fuck you, it will be done probably. i need to see your face as you cum for me.” he taps your back thigh for you to unwrap your legs from around his waist.
he gently lets you down and helps you fix your skirt. “don’t worry, i’ll have you under me in a couple of minutes,” he kisses your cheek quickly while running his fingers through his hair to push it further back.
as if on cue, the closet door swings open revealing everyone staring right back at you. you became flustered instantly and put your head down to look at your shoes. percy’s hand touches your waist to lightly push you out the closet.
“we’re going back to the dorms. enjoy the rest of the party guys,” you snapped your head up to look at him and slapped his chest. “i’m not gonna lie sweetheart.”
you rolled your eyes at him and go to jenna who held your jacket and purse out to you with a smirk. you avoided her gaze and thanked her quietly. percy’s hand takes its place around your waist to guide you out the front door.
-
the walk back to the dorms was silent. but not an awkward silence, it was quite comfortable. your hands constantly bumping each other as if you guys wanted to hold hands but wasn’t sure.
“my feet kinda hurt,” you break the silence with your very truthful statement. he looks down at your pouting face and smiles.
“you want a piggyback ride?”
“please?”
he nods his head and bent over to allow you hop on his back. immediately he loops his arms under your legs and pulled down each side of your skirt, so no one seen anything. you placed your arms around his shoulders again and leaned your chin on his head.
“you okay?”
“yes thank you.”
this feels too natural with percy. kissing him, being in his arms and having him pressed against you felt real. you weren’t even sure if he felt the same way but this feeling sent your stomach fluttering with butterflies.
“hey percy, can i ask you a question?” you whispered to him as if you were too shy to ask the question.
“what’s up?”
“why do we hate each other? or at least did hate each other?”
he sighed and licked his lips, “y/n i never hated you. you’re gonna think this is stupid and pretty cliché but i only did that to get your attention really.” you genuinely start laughing at the ridiculous of the boy.
“percy, if you were just nicer to me when we first met then we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
“i know but i have you now, right?” now he was nervous for your answer. would it all go back to how it was before after tonight or will tonight change everything?
“yeah. you have me now,” he smiled and let go of one of your thighs to bring your hand to his lips placing a delicate kiss.

it was finally friday, the night of the first home hockey game. you were in the bathroom, trying desperately to curl the back of your head, but no luck.
you huffed, “mia! can you come here real quick?!”
your voice echoed, her footsteps being your sign that she heard you. she opened the door to your bedroom, walking into the small half bathroom.
“what’s up?” she met your eyes in the mirror, cracking a smile at how distressed you look.
“can you curl the back of my hair, please?”
she smiled, holding her hand out for the curling wand. she sectioned your hair, grabbing a reasonably sized chunk before wrapping it around the barrel.
“so,” she dragged the ‘o’, “you excited for tonight?”
you shrugged, “i suppose. would be nice to actually see tom play.”
“oh, i meant to ask,” she said, “but how did you two even start dating? was it the night of the party?”
you bit down on your bottom lip, “yeah, yeah. i guess we sorta kinda just clicked? i don’t really know how to explain it.”
she smiled, “i was just making sure this is something you really wanted. i mean, i know i’m one to talk, but with everything that happened with jack, i just want to make sure you’re okay.”
you smiled softly at her in the mirror, “i’m okay, i just want to move on and be happy again.”
“understandable,” she said, “what he did was so fucked up. he’s lucky i haven’t seen him yet because i will quite literally give him an ass whooping.”
you laughed, “i love you.”
she smiled back at you, “i love you, too,” she turned the curling wand off, placing it down on the sink before admiring her work, “and you’re all set, hot stuff.”
you smiled, “thanks.”
“i’m gonna go make sure sarah isn’t trying to leave the house with sweatpants on.” she said and you laughed as she made her way back down the steps.
your phone buzzed on the counter, a message popping up on your screen. you grabbed the phone, plopping down on your stomach onto the mattress.
tom dropped something off for you at your door see you soon :)
you locked your phone before running down the steps, laughing as you heard sarah’s complaining about the outfit mia suggested she wore tonight. you opened the front door, a bag sitting on the carpet in the hallway.
you grabbed it and shut the door, reading the sticky note that was plopped on top of whatever was inside the bag.
fake girlfriend or not, there’s no one else i’d want wearing my last name tonight.
the tickets are at the bottom, see you tonight :)  - tom
you pulled out the black jersey, the stitching on the back reading tom’s last name and his number. you smiled, grabbing your phone out of the back pocket of your jeans.
y/n thank you! i love it
you slipped your phone back into your pocket, jogging up the stairs. you entered sarah’s room where mia was laying on the bed, smiling contently with her efforts on getting mia to dress up a little bit. you entered the room, your eyes immediately going wide at sarah’s outfit.
“you look hot!”
“see, told you,” mia said, throwing her hands up in the air, “wear the outfit!”
she was in a black turtleneck sweater tucked into the front of her light wash jeans that quite literally fit her like a glove. she wore a pair of black booties with them, with some light makeup on (courtesy of mia).
sarah hardly ever got dressed up like this anymore, which she never really had to. she looked gorgeous either way. but ever since her and her ex boyfriend broke up, she’d lost the motivation to throw on cute outfits, just opting in on staying in sweats or pajamas all day. if there was a party, it was leggings, one of her comfort hoodies, and her beat up pair of converse that were now considered her ‘frat shoes’.
you and mia both tried to get her back to being her confident, carefree self. but, it was hard. hard for all of you, especially sarah. at the end of the day, you both just wanted her happy again.
“mia, this bra is suffocating my tits,” she said, tugging at the cups, “how the fuck do you wear this everyday?”
you both laughed, “you’ll get used to it.”
“what’s that, y/n?” mia asked, nodding towards the bag in your hand. you smiled, grabbing the material from the bag and holding it up for both the girls to see.
“no way!”
“shut the fuck up!!”
you laughed, smiling, “i know, i know.”
“that’s so cute,” mia said, sticking her bottom lip out. sarah agreed, nodding her head as she put a hand over her heart.
“finally, y/n finding someone who treats her right.”
you chuckled, fishing the tickets out of the bottom of the bag, “here’s our tickets. we should probably leave soon.”
“yes ma’am,” mia said, fakely saluting you.
sarah and you laughed, each of you departing to your own rooms to finish up getting ready and to grab your things.
                               ─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
the arena was packed for the first home game filled with a bunch of parents and college kids hoping for their team to win. tom was nice enough to get you, mia and sarah seats right near the ice.
“okay, can i just say, i love tom. i mean, look at these seats.”
you smiled over at sarah, “yeah, it was really nice of him.”
mia was looking around at the people near you, seeing if anyone else you guys knew showed up for the game. she immediately whipped her head back around to you, slapping your arm to get your attention.
“jack’s here.”
there’s that nervous pit again.
“wait, where?” sarah asked, moving to turn around in her seat. mia reached over you and grabbed her arm to stop.
“don’t look at him! he’s a couple rows up.”
great.
your phone buzzed in your pocket, you fished it out and tapped on the message notification.
tom hey, how're your seats?
y/n they’re great! other than the fact that jack is a couple rows behind me but otherwise they’re great :)
tom oh shit, i’m sorry i can have someone come get you and move you guys if you want
y/n no, no it’s okay
you bit down on your bottom lip, fingers hovering over the keyboard.
let’s just make him jealous, like we said we would
tom with pleasure.  see you after the game
y/n  good luck :)
you locked your phone, mia turning to look at you, “you okay?”
you nodded, tucking a piece of hair away from your face, “yeah, actually. i am.”
it wasn’t a complete lie. sure, seeing jack was like a sucker punch to the gut, but you decided to not let it overpower you tonight. you were here with your best friends, supporting one of the nicest, funniest, caring guys you’ve ever met.
as the night went on, you and your friends cheered on tom’s team. he scored the winning goal and the arena erupted with cheers and applause. you, mia and sarah immediately jumped out of your seats, screaming and cheering as tom shrugged off his helmet and was hugged by his team. once everyone had calmed down, he skated over to your section, holding up a heart made out of his hands. you smiled, holding up one back.
his subtle jab of rubbing it into jack’s face. smooth.
once the arena cleared out, you let mia and sarah head back in mia’s car as you waited for tom. you were waiting in the lobby, scrolling on your phone trying to pass time.
“hey,” you heard a voice and looked up to see jack, “didn’t know you liked our hockey team.”
you slipped your phone into your pocket, clearing your throat, “uh, yeah. kinda getting back into liking hockey.”
he nodded, “yeah. i mean, sleeping with the captain of the team kinda helps, doesn’t it?”
you opened your mouth to speak, but felt a hand wrap around your waist. you were immediately enveloped in the scent of tom’s cologne.
“hey, baby,” he said, leaning in and pressing a kiss to your cheek. you masked the surprise that ran through your body, smiling over at him as he looked over at jack, “sorry, didn’t catch your name, mate. you are?”
jack’s eyes narrowed on tom’s figure, “jack.”
“jack, i’m tom, nice to meet you.” he said, holding out his hand for him to shake. jack didn’t accept the handshake, but just shifted his gaze to you.
“didn’t you say jocks aren’t your type?” he asked, and eyebrow raised at you.
“funny how we both said things we didn’t mean.” you spit back. he opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by his friends calling his name behind him. he rolled his eyes, turning around and walking towards his group.
“pleasure was all mine, mate! see you later!” tom called back after him. you let a chuckle escape your mouth as he unwrapped his arm from around you, turning to face you, “you okay?”
you nodded, “yeah. thank you.”
“that’s what i’m here for,” he smiled, “hungry? we can get something to eat before i drop you off at home?”
you nodded, “sounds good.”
he nodded towards the door, the two of you walking out towards the parking lot. he opened the passenger side door for you. you thanked him before he jogged around to his side, buckling in and starting the car before passing you his phone.
“put on whatever you want.”
you scrolled through his spotify, finding a couple songs you knew and put them on through the car speakers. he pulled into the parking lot to one of the diners in town. the two of you made your way inside before sitting in a booth across from one another.
you scanned over the menu, “what’re you going to get?”
he hummed, “don’t know. kinda going back and forth between the club and the chicken parm. what about you?”
you hummed, twisting your lips in thought, “the grilled cheese and tomato soup sounds good.”
he smiled, “does sound good.”
once the two of you ordered and got your food, you made small talk about the game.
“i don’t think jack likes me much.” tom chuckled, taking a sip of his drink.
“no, really?” you smiled, voice laced with sarcasm, “what gave it away? was it the blatant ignoring or was it something else i didn’t pick up on?”
he smiled, “not that i care about his opinion of me, but he could’ve at least shook my hand.”
you nodded in agreement, “yeah, no, he didn’t have to be such a dick about it.”
the bill came and after trying to grab it from him for about five minutes, you finally let him pay. you walked out, letting him open the car door for you, as he always does. you two were on the way back to your house, laughing and enjoying comfortable conversation.
“so, tell me,” he said, “are you really not into the jock type?”
you nodded, “yeah, i mean, guys who i’ve met who were athletes were like the stereotypical jock type. the huge ego, kinda kept their girlfriend by their side as arm candy, never really cared about the woman they were with, you know?”
he nodded, “yeah, i don’t really get how guys can do that. any guy who doesn’t worship their girl is a dick, in my opinion.”
you smiled, “are you the type of guy to worship your girl?”
“oh, yeah,” he said, “i mean, if you don’t then what’s the point, y’know?”
“i get you,” you said, “in my opinion, taylor didn’t deserve you.”
he smiled over at you, “a lot of other people would agree with you.”
who would willingly break tom’s heart? i mean, c’mon, he’s the definition of a perfect boyfriend.
no, stop thinking like that.
he pulled up in front of the house. you looked over at him, his brown eyes meeting yours.
“do you want to come inside?” you didn’t even notice the words were falling from your lips until you heard your own voice.
“sure.” he smiled, turning the car off. he followed you inside, mia and sarah sitting on the couch.
“hey,” you said, shutting the door and locking it, your eyes falling onto the tv, “what’re you guys watching?”
“the new episode of love island,” mia said, “shh.”
you looked at tom who was smiling at you. you rolled your eyes playfully, “okay, you guys have fun. we’re going upstairs.”
sarah gave you a thumbs up as the two of you climbed the stairs. you made your way to your room and shut the door. tom took a seat onto your bed, watching as you walked over to the dresser.
“i might have a pair of sweats you can change into,” you said, digging through one of the drawers, “if you want to stay.”
he smiled, “i’d love to stay.”
you smiled back at him before handing him the sweatpants, “i can uhm, find a t-shirt or something if you don’t want to sleep in your sweatshirt.”
“i’m good for now,” he smiled, taking the sweatpants into his hands, “thank you.”
you nodded, “the bathroom is over there.”
he nodded, walking into the bathroom. you quickly changed into a pair of leggings and a tanktop, sitting on the bed as he came out of the bathroom. he joined you on the bed, putting his phone on the nightstand.
“wanna watch a movie or something?”
he nodded, “yeah, anything in mind?”
you hummed as you clicked onto netflix, “i heard the new movie on netflix is good. something about a girl who’s in fake relationship or something.”
he let out a chuckle as you smiled over at him, “how fitting. maybe we could learn a thing or two.”
you clicked on the movie, the both of you getting situated on the bed. you two were mainly talking rather than paying attention. he was propped up on his elbow, facing you as you laid down on your side.
his eyes scanned your face, “oh, you have an eyelash.”
you reached up under the eye he pointed to, attempting to wipe it away.
“did i get it?”
he smiled softly, “no, here,”
he reached up gently and pinched the eyelash between his fingers. you smiled as he scanned your face again. you did the same, his face softly illuminated from the light from the tv. he looked like a dream, his curls flopped over his forehead. you didn’t realize how close the two of you had gotten until you could feel his warm breath fan your face. he reached over and moved  a piece of hair from your face.
“what’re you thinking about?” you asked softly.
“how i broke one of the rules.”
you raised an eyebrow, “which one?”
“the first one,” he said, “‘no strings attached’. i can’t help it. you’re all that’s been on my mind ever since i met you.”
you let out a shaky breath at how close he was, “i may have broken that one, too.”
he smiled, “let’s scrap the rules. i want to explore this, whatever kind of feelings we may or may not have… if that’s what you want.”
“yeah,” you said, “fuck the rules.”
he smiled wider, “is it alright if i kiss you right now?”
“please.”

Sidewalk Kisses

Art cred: mia_bobrhia
“No, so then we get to the next chapter, the one we were supposed to read before class, right? And this dumbass goes wait, who’s Ophelia again? We’re literally reading Hamlet; the book cover is that super famous painting of Ophelia, and he doesn’t even know who she is.” You rant, waving your hands wildly in frustration, recounting the drama from your last class as you and Miguel take the back way to your next classes. You’re walking down the cracked sidewalk, the large looming trees above, birds singing in their branches, it’s quiet, no one else is around.
Miguel hums in halfhearted acknowledgment, and you look over at him, slowing your pace.
“Sorry, I know I’m being dramatic, but it just pisses me off.” You say, and Miguel can see you curling in on yourself.
“Don’t apologize, I’m just enjoying listening.” He says, trying to blink himself out of the trace your beauty has put him in. “And looking at you.”
You look so pretty, your hair tied up, a few strands falling perfectly, framing your face, the sun on your skin, the flowers blooming on the trees and bushes behind you.
You give him a shy smile, looking up at him through your mascara adorned lashes. “You’re so sweet.”
It’s his turn to be shy, and he ducks his head. “It’s easy to be sweet to you, you deserve it.”
You smack his arm playfully, full on beaming at him now. “Shut up, I adore you.”
I love you. The words sit on the tip of his tongue, poised, ready for action, but he chokes them down. “Now who’s being too sweet?”
You giggle, and it’s like music, like bells, like everything he’s ever wanted to hear. He loves to hear you laugh.
Miguel wants to kiss you, but he knows once he starts, he won’t be able to stop, and you both have classes to get to.
“Yeah, yeah, but anyways, so Dr. Wrinkler is like young man she is the very reason we’re reading this book. And dumbass just says I thought we were reading Hamlet because of Hamlet. Literally starts arguing with the professor! And I’m just sitting there dumbfounded, but also happy because I didn’t actually read the chapter before class, so I don’t mind him wasting class time.” You admit, giving Miguel an impish smile.
“My girlfriend, the ever-diligent student, is secretly a rule breaker, who would’ve known?” He jokes, glancing over at you when you stop dead in your tracks. “What’s wrong?”
You smile and go up on your toes, pressing your lips against his cheek. “I just don’t think I’ve ever heard you call me your girlfriend before; I like it.”
His cheeks warm and he ducks his head. “I…I like it too.”
You coo at him and smother his face with quick kisses, wrapping your arms around his neck to pull him down to your height, angling your lips against his in a way that feels both romantic and wildly inappropriate. His head spins and he can’t stop a whimper from escaping when your nails graze against the nape of his neck, and your tongue traces the seam of his lips.
You smile against him, tangling your hands in his hair, manicured nails massaging his scalp, his glasses digging into the bridge of his nose a bit. He doesn’t care, you could devour him, break him into tiny pieces, melt him down, mold him into something new, whatever you want as long as you keep kissing him.
His hands go to your waist, pulling you closer, instinct taking over as he explores every inch of your mouth, the tip of his tongue running across yours, his grip tightening when he feels your breathing speed up.
You break away, breathing harshly, leaning into him like your knees are weak. “You’re um—you’re really good at that.”
“Only with you, mi dulce.” He says, and it’s not a lie, it’s the truest thing he knows. He likes kissing you, it comes naturally, everything he does you like and vice versa, there’s no wrong moves with you. “You inspire greatness in me.”
“Who knew you had such a silver tongue?” You tease, looking up at him with your pupils blown wide, your hands trailing lower, caressing his broad back.
Maybe he could convince you to skip class?
“If you would let me, I could show you more of it.” The words are honeyed, far smoother than he thought they would be, and Miguel holds his breath as he waits for your response.
Your breath catches in your throat and blink at him, stunned, flustered, lips parted in shock, or maybe anticipation? It’s an intoxicating expression, one that fuels him, fills him with courage.
“Déjame mostrarte cómo me has inspirado, mi musa, déjame arrodillarme ante ti, pintarte, tocarte, adorarte.” He whispers, drunk on your reaction, on the feeling of all your attention focused solely on him. Trsl: Let me show you how you have inspired me, my muse, let me kneel before you, paint you, touch you, worship you.
“Oh…” You breathe out, as you tilt your head subconsciously, your eyes flickering down to his lips.
He doesn’t need any other instruction, and he closes the distance, humming at the way you melt into him. He could do this forever, just you and him in the quiet of the day, sheltered by the shadow of the trees.
A sharp wolf whistle breaks you two apart.
“Damn, y/n, is that Honor Council approved?” Kelsy, one of your sisters’ calls, making you turn on your heel.
“I don’t know, why don’t you tell me, Ms. Honor Council Chairman?” You call back, rolling your eyes playfully.
“It’s not, but we’re going to be late for class, so I’ll excuse it.” Kelsy says, linking her arm with yours and pulling you towards the direction of your class, casting a sympathetic look over her shoulder towards Miguel. “Sorry lover boy, gotta steal your girl, good grades and all that.”
He just nods, feeling back in that daze from before. It’s only the sight of you blowing him a kiss that breaks the trance, and he forces himself to head to his own class, the feeling of your lips on his still lingering.

One minute.
One minute did it take for the class to end and yet it felt like an eternity.
You stared at the clock in anticipation, not paying an ounce of attention to what your professor was talking about.
Was he even talking?
Were you supposed to write something down?
You wouldn’t know.
RIING
Finally, the blissful sound of the bell pierced through the monotony.
You took your eyes off the clock in the far corner of the lecture hall, a sigh of relief leaving your lips and started packing your stuff.
“Alright class! See you on Monday! Have a great weekend.” Your professor exclaimed before walking out of the hall with a wave.
Amidst the chorus of thank you’s and see you on Monday’s and packing your laptop in your bag, alongside your pen and notebook (basically for small, unnecessary doodles, instead of notes) including your water bottle, you noticed Wanda slipping onto the bench beside you with her backpack draped over her right shoulder and an amused smile plastered on her face.
“Late again,” she teased.
You groaned. “Blame that slowpoke of a bus driver.”
“You know you can always ride with Pietro and me.” She nudged your shoulder playfully.
You offered her a grateful smile but shook your head. “It’s inconvenient for you.”
After being forced to live on campus for your first year of college you decided to get a small apartment to save some money and get the privacy you wanted and needed. Living on campus was expensive enough and with the small amount of money you got for working in a café and babysitting sometimes in the evening there wasn’t much left for you to enjoy yourself a little.
You never really enjoyed living in a dorm together with someone you didn’t know and sharing that same space. Your roommate for that first year was perpetually boisterous and tried dragging you to every party within a five-mile radius. Despite your initial resistance, you eventually succumbed to peer pressure. After enduring an eternity of loud music and plastic cups thrust into your hand, you found yourself in the grim confines of a bathroom stall, holding back your roommate‘s unruly hair as she retched into the toilet bowl. It was a moment of disillusionment that solidified your resolve to seek solitude and sanctuary away from the chaos of dormitory life.
Though you hated every minute of that day, in the end, you were glad you went, because it was where you met Wanda.
As fate would have it, Wanda found herself reluctantly dragged to the same party by none other than her brother, Pietro. Aforementioned guy managed to catch your roommate since she ‘accidentally’ slipped in front of him. She kept giggling with his arms draped around her and you apologized to him and Wanda though you knew it was actually really not your fault.
So while your roommate occupied Pietro you had a pleasant conversation with his sister. You clicked immediately.
“It takes ten minutes Y/n, it’s truly no big deal.”
“Well, I’ll keep it in mind! Thanks, Wan!”
You walked out of the hall and crossed campus together. Since you just had this one lecture today you signed in for a shift at the café you worked at and were just about to bid Wanda goodbye when-
“Maximoff!”
You didn’t make any attempt to even try not to roll your eyes.
Wanda turned around and so did you eventually, not concealing your dissatisfaction with the approaching guy, a scowl forming on your face.
Bucky Barnes.
Of course.
Now, there were a lot of things you tolerated. It was hard to rile you up, but Bucky Barnes? He exceeded every limit.
You couldn’t stand the guy. And he knew it.
He caught up to you girls and kept his attention on your friend.
“Hey, Wanda! You have a minute?”
Before she could react he turned to you, pretending to see you just now.
“Oh. Y/n! Haven’t seen you there.”
You wanted to punch that arrogant grin off his face.
“What do you want?”
“Well as I was gonna ask Wanda,” he emphasized her name with a playful drawl and turned to her, “You and your brother are coming today right? Sam got the drinks and we got a new beer pong table. We gotta initiate it correctly.”
Another eye roll escaped you as Wanda shot you a brief, amused glance before addressing Bucky. “Pietro‘ll come. The party was the only thing he talked about this morning.”
“Perfect!” Bucky grinned. “You‘ll come too right? You can have a plus one!” He nodded his head towards you while meeting your steely gaze with unwavering confidence.
“Nothing will get me to enter your stupid frat party Barnes!” you retorted dryly.
Bucky’s grin remained firmly in place, his cockiness bordering on infuriating.
“Well I‘ll be there,” he declared, turning his attention toward you with a smirk.
You cocked your head. “There’s the reason why.”
A soft sigh from Wanda diverted your attention, prompting you to check the time on your phone.
“Whatever, I gotta go!” With a brief hug, you bid her goodbye.
“Text me later?”
“Course, Wan!”
You flashed her a quick smile before striding away, ignoring Bucky’s futile attempt to prolong the conversation.
„Where ya going?” he shouted after you.
„Work!” Your response was curt and you continued your way.
****
“That‘ll be 4.75$.”
The girl in front of you swiped her card through the card reader and you placed the cup with her latte on the counter separating you.
You thanked her for the small tip and turned away when she left, to stock up on the coffee beans. You leaned down and grabbed the bag out of a drawer from under the counter as you heard the door to the shop open.
Your coworker went to the storage room to store the milk that came in a few minutes before and it wasn’t that busy so you were good on your own out front.
“Just a sec!” you called while opening the bag and pouring the beans in, standing with your back to the counter.
“All good! I‘m in no hurry.”
You stilled for a second, almost pouring over the beans. Although you couldn’t see him right now you could tell he wore that shit-eating grin again.
You pulled the bag away harshly with a few falling out. You would take care of that later. Probably not though.
You put the bag aside, preparing yourself to turn around, and came face to face with the one and only Bucky Barnes.
Seriously?
Two times in a day?
You wiped over your apron and met his gaze. “What can I get you?” You tried feigning that kindness you were supposed to show your guests though you knew you could try more.
Not taken aback by your grimace and still slightly annoyed tone he leaned on the counter and pretended to contemplate what to get.
You crossed your arms over your chest and stared at him.
“I think I‘ll go for a black coffee,” He grinned at you.
You uncrossed your arms to get to work. “Small, medium, large?” You were really trying to stay professional here.
“I‘ll take it medium, doll.”
It wasn’t the first time he called you that, though you‘ve heard it come out of his mouth plenty of times to plenty of girls so you guessed he didn’t even recognize he was calling you that too.
You got to work while Bucky watched you intently, still leaning on the counter.
You hoped he would stay silent but guessed that thought was futile since he walked in here.
“So, you think about coming?”
“No.”
“No, you haven’t thought about it or no, you aren’t coming?”
“Both”
It wasn’t the first time he somehow tried to get you to come to one of his frat parties. Be it through Wanda or Pietro or just blatantly asking you to come. You knew your answer every time. He should have known that too but he seemingly never stopped trying.
“Aww, come on doll! Already put you on the list.”
“Do whatever you please Barnes but I‘m not coming,” you retorted while finishing up his coffee and sliding it across the counter over to him. “That‘ll be 2.95$.”
lWill Wanda come?” He didn’t attempt to grab the cup, instead he stayed rooted and looked at you.
“Don‘t know. Maybe”
After that party your former roommate dragged you to, you avoided them at all costs and managed not to attend any other. Wanda sometimes came along with Pietro to get him back home after drinking too much. You considered coming along for moral support a few times but didn’t want to give Bucky the satisfaction of getting you to come. And Wanda always claimed she‘d be fine.
He leaned to take the cup of coffee and a milk pack from beside where you were standing.
“Alright well, you know where to go,” he slid over a 5$ bill. “Keep the change!” He lifted the cup a bit. “And thanks!” Giving you his signature smirk.
“Barnes that‘s too much for a single coffee!” you protested and were about to collect his change but he was already halfway out of the shop.
“Keep it!” he threw over his shoulder and you looked after him a little irritated.
His persistence annoyed you to no end so why did your lips curl up in a smile, despite yourself?
****
You didn’t come.
It was nearly midnight and you found yourself nestled in your bed, the soft glow of your laptop illuminating the room as you rewatched a movie for the umpteenth time.
There probably would be a few things you’d like to do instead, but going to one of Bucky's notorious frat parties, will just never be one of them.
You couldn’t even really tell why you held such a grudge against the guy. He never really was explicitly rude or anything, yet there was something about his demeanor that rubbed you the wrong way.
Bucky Barnes had been a constant presence on campus since day one. Whether it was in the hallways or outside the building, Bucky was always surrounded by a rotating cast of admirers, girls vying for his attention. It became a familiar sight to see him engrossed in conversation with yet another girl, his charm seemingly boundless.
Amidst the flurry of attention and admiration that surrounded Bucky, there were moments when his gaze seemed to linger in your direction as if seeking to ensnare your attention as he did with others. You‘d catch him looking at you in the hallways. You‘d see him standing outside your lecture hall, although he didn’t even attend this class. However, you never attempted to acknowledge him and were set on keeping your distance.
In your second semester, you found yourself sharing a course with him. That was where he first initiated interactions with you. At first, it was a subtle passing glance, a nod, and a smile of acknowledgment, but soon his efforts to engage with you became more pronounced. It started with a request for notes when he wasn’t there the other day. And then there were times when you ran late and he saved you a seat beside him, sending you a wave and a charming grin.
But then you would watch him effortlessly flirt with other girls, letting them sit on his lap and whispering in their ear, you having the front row seat. You couldn’t pinpoint why his flirting with other girls left a bitter taste in your mouth, but it deepened your reservation, solidifying your decision to maintain a sense of distance.
Despite not sharing any classes with Bucky in your second year, he seemed determined not to let your lack of proximity deter his efforts to engage with you. His persistent attempts to catch your attention continued unabated - although you never gave him much to work with - seeming to find a way to cross paths with you all the time.
The first time he asked you to come to one of his frat parties, you were sitting in a small booth at a café near campus, nursing a latte and discussing your professors together with Wanda and Pietro.
You laugh. “Right? She once even gave-”
“Pietro! Hey, man,” comes his voice across the café and Bucky Barnes approaches you three.
You drop your smile and divert your attention to your latte as Bucky greets Pietro and Wanda.
“Y/n! Nice to see you.” His voice dripping with charm.
Upon hearing your name you lift your head and offer a strained smile, hoping to convey at least a semblance of politeness.
“Hi,” you answer lamely, not an ounce of enthusiasm found in your voice.
Bucky’s smirk deepens in response, a knowing glint in his eyes.
Your smile turns into a grimace.
“You coming tonight man?” he asked Pietro.
“Course Buck! I‘ll be there.”
“Great!” His attention turns to you.
“You girls are welcome too, you know.”Although addressing both, Wanda and you, he keeps his gaze on you.
“Yeah, no thanks!”
“We’ll think about it!”
Wanda sends you a glare, reminding you to stay nice. Though Bucky doesn’t seem fazed by your lack of interest, the boyish smirk still present on his lips.
“Well, I‘d be happy to see you.”
You don’t even have time to answer him when a brunette, standing at the counter, calls his name.
You look in her direction though his eyes remain on you a few seconds longer until he turns away and bids his goodbye. Wanda and Pietro answer him while you remain silent, taking refuge in your coffee cup.
He was attractive, you gotta give him that but you never were someone to go after looks. There were so many more important things to see in people. Sure, you don’t know how he treated or saw his flings, or hookups, or whatever but you supposed you didn’t wanna know.
****
After you worked your ass off at the café during the weekend you were more than unpleased to be sitting in your lecture hall at 8 in the morning on a Monday. At least the bus was on time you supposed.
Wanda slid in beside you and put down a cup of coffee in front of you before unpacking her backpack.
“Oh god Wan, you‘re an Angel!” You took a big sip and sighed dramatically.
Wanda snickered softly, organizing her notes.
“You know, Pietro told me someone was a bit disappointed,” she began and you looked at her confused.
“The party,” she continued but you just stared at her oblivious.
She sighed. “He hoped you‘d come this time.” She studied you with a careful expression but you saw the corners of her lips turning up lightly.
You blinked. “Why would he think that?”
Wanda shrugged. “Well he‘s pretty persistent,” She studied you some more and you began to feel uneasy, “You could give him a chance.”
“Huh?” you mumbled, caught off guard.
Turning toward you fully, Wanda leaned in slightly. “I don‘t really know him that well, but he‘s different with you. Pietro‘s mentioned it. He‘s never made this much effort with anyone else.“
Perplexed, you pondered her words.
“And honestly,” Wanda continued, “He‘s a nice guy. I mean I get he‘s got girls around all the time-”
You grimaced.
“-but he‘s not the guy to lead anyone on or make someone feel worthless, I‘m sure of it.”
That got you silent and you looked at her, pouting your lips in contemplation.
“He had a girlfriend once but as far as Pietro knows it didn’t end well. She moved away and they tried that long-distance relationship crap-”
You raised an eyebrow.
“-but she then started seeing someone else without telling him.”
You exhaled deeply, processing the information. “Alright well that sucks..sure..but is that a reason to use girls like that?”
“How are you so sure that‘s what this is?” Wanda countered
Before you could respond, your professor arrived, saving you from further discussion. You were kinda glad he was on time cause you really had no idea how to answer that. You couldn’t know what he does with those girls. What he told them. How he treated them. How he made them feel.
Actually
You didn’t know anything about him at all.
****
Nearly two weeks had passed and you haven’t seen Bucky since he came by the café you worked at. Despite your efforts to push him out of your mind, you found yourself occasionally thinking about him or scanning the hallways for a glimpse of him.
Wanda got sick the day prior so you were sitting alone in class. After making idle conversation with some fellow students, you decided to stay back and finish up your notes.
You heard footsteps approaching but didn’t look up until someone settled beside you.
“That looks kinda complicated.”
Irritation bubbled up, but you were surprised to find you didn’t immediately feel the urge to roll your eyes all the way up to your brain at the sound of his voice. Reluctantly, you turned to face him, a sigh leaving your lips
“What are you doing here? This isn’t even your class!”
“Came looking for ya,” he replied, that familiar smirk playing on his lips.
You returned your attention back to your notes. “What for?”
“Shouldn’t you be able to tell?” He grinned and bumped your upper arm lightly.
That was the first time he initiated any form of physical contact and you weren’t sure what to make of it.
“Another party, I assume,” you remarked plainly.
“Smart girl! Missed you the last time.”
“Then have fun missing me this time as well,“ you retorted, not bothering to look at him.
You felt his eyes on your profile but didn’t turn to him.
“Well just wanted to let you know you‘re still on the list,” he said, his voice laced with that characteristic smirk.
That dude really wouldn’t give up, would he?
Quickly finishing your notes and packing away your things, you draped your bag over your shoulder, ready to leave the hall. As you turned to go, you glanced back at him.
“I‘ll think about it,” you said, your tone dripping with sarcasm, though deep down you couldn’t deny that small part of you, that was considering his invitation this time.
****
The party started by now.
Standing in your bedroom you wavered on the threshold of the decision to go to his party or not.
You found yourself grappling with uncertainty, questioning the motivations behind your sudden inclination to attend the party. Was it a twinge of guilt for his past misfortunes that nudged you towards empathy? Or perhaps a genuine curiosity sparked by the desire to unravel the enigma of his persistent invitations?
You pondered, your thoughts swirling. Perhaps this was all a game to him? Or maybe there was something deeper, something he needed to prove to himself or to others.
Yet, the idea of subjecting yourself to potential humiliation at a frat party churned your stomach. You had no desire to be caught in the whirlwind of debauchery and recklessness.
But Wanda didn’t really make him seem like the kinda guy to pull shit like that.
Though how could she be sure?
The sudden ringing of your phone shattered the swirling thoughts that had consumed you, pulling you back to the present moment. With a grateful sigh, you glanced down at the screen, Wanda’s name lighting it up.
“Hey Wan,” you greeted her while laying back on your bed.
“Hey Y/n. I assume you‘re not at the party.”
“Nope, you know me”
“Okay well, could I ask for a favor?” Wanda‘s voice held a hint of hesitation.
You sat up. “Yeah, sure Wan, what’s up?”
“Pietro will need someone to pick him up later but I‘m still feeling pretty shitty at the moment and…I don’t know I was thinking maybe-“
“You‘re asking me to pick him up?” you finished her sentence, sighing deeply.
“Kinda yeah,” Wanda confirmed sheepishly.
You chuckled. “Sure, I can do that Wan, no Problem.”
You could hear the relief in Wanda’s breath. “Thank you babes, I owe you! You can take his car, I‘ll leave the keys under the pot outside.”
“You don’t owe me anything Wan, I‘m glad I can help! You stay in bed and rest, alright? I‘ll take care of your brother,” you assured her.
After exchanging a few more words, you hung up and prepared to leave. Opting for a casual outfit you threw on some wash jeans and a shirt.
Considering you spent a good amount of time on spiraling whether to go or not it got rather late already and it still would take you some time to get to Pietros car and to the party.
You grabbed the keys from under the pot, got in the car and started driving. It‘s been a while since you made use of your license considering you couldn’t afford your own vehicle, but you managed.
As you parked the car and stepped out onto the pavement, the distant throb of bass pulsed through the air, a tangible force that seemed to reverberate through your entire being. With each step towards the fraternity house, the music grew louder, assaulting your senses with its relentless intensity.
You walked up to the guy standing at the door with a ripped sheet of paper in his hand. You assumed that was what Bucky referred to as list.
“Hey, uh, I‘m here to pick up Pietro Maximoff,” you stated, hoping to avoid being drawn into the revelry inside.
The guy‘s smirk was infuriating as he chuckled dismissively. “Oh I‘m sure he‘s a little busy right now.”
Suppressing a sigh, you resisted the urge to roll your eyes at his remark.
“What‘s your name sweetie, you could always go in and join the party.”
“Yeah no I‘m fine, I‘ll just-”
“Wait, are you the infamous Y/n?”
You blinked. You were not entirely used to people knowing your name. You‘d like to believe you were nobody. Whether on campus nor in general. So why did this random guy know your name and call you infamous?
You didn’t have to answer, instead the guy nodded towards the door, granting you entry with a casual wave.
“Come on in, Buck will be thrilled to see you,” he remarked, stepping aside to let you pass.
Feeling utterly disoriented and out of place, you stepped inside, your senses assaulted by the overwhelming cacophony of noise and the oppressive heat of the crowded room. The stench of sweat and alcohol hung heavy in the air, causing you to wrinkle your nose in disgust. With each step, the floor seemed to cling to your shoes, a sticky reminder why you avoided this for so long.
You tried to adjust to the flickering lights and internally scolded the person who decided those colors were a good match when you heard your name be called.
“Y/n?”
You weren’t surprised to hear his voice since it was partly his party but you were surprised he recognized you this fast since you just stepped inside. Was he watching the door?
His smile greeted you as he stood before you, and you were blinded for a second there.
“You‘re here!”
“Uh, well I‘m kinda just here to pick up Pietro. Wanda asked me to.”
Bucky’s smile faltered slightly at your words. Clearing his throat, he offered a tentative response. “Oh. Well, haven’t seen him,” he exclaimed, his gaze momentarily flickering away before returning to meet yours.
As Pietro‘s slurred voice called out your name, you turned to see your friend stumbling towards you, a wide grin plastered across his face. He draped an arm around your shoulders, and you instinctively supported him, wrapping your own arm around his waist to steady him.
“What‘re you doin‘ here, princessa?” Pietro slurred, his words punctuated by a drunken laugh.
You laughed. “Came here to pick you up, Piet. Wanda’s still not feeling well.”
But Pietro, clearly undeterred by your explanation, attempted to pull you along with him, his movements unsteady as he swayed on the spot within your hold.
“Let‘s get you a drink, princessa,” he insisted, his grip tightening around you.
Refusing to indulge his request, you gently guided him towards the door, ignoring his protests. As you turned to leave, you caught sight of Bucky, his jaw clenched and his eyes darting away from your close proximity.
“I guess thanks for the invite Barnes but this really isn’t my scene.” You gave him a tight lipped smile and turned to Pietro again.
Meanwhile, Bucky remained rooted to the spot, his gaze fixed on the door you just disappeared behind.

Since that day at the party three weeks ago, Bucky had been somewhat of a ghost, disappearing from the usual campus scene. Despite not seeing him, thoughts of him seemed to linger in the back of your mind and you caught yourself looking out for him in the hallways.
You made your way to the restrooms between your two classes of the day cause you just had to drown yourself in coffee on your 4-hour shift in the café this morning.
After locking yourself in one of the cabins that still held toilet paper you heard the door to the restroom creak open and made out the hushed voices of two girls filtering in. One of them clearly crying.
“What’s wrong with me? He literally jumped in bed with every other girl on campus! Why not me?” the girl sobbed hysterically while her friend got her some paper towels from the dispenser.
You rolled your eyes at her antics and decided to just wait out until they left.
“I don’t know El, but Jake did say something about him wanting to change.” You could picture her gesturing quotation marks with her fingers at the ‘wanting to change’ part. And though you weren’t quite the type to gossip you held your breath and listened intently.
The other girl blew her nose while her friend continued.
“He hasn’t been to a party for the last, I don’t know, maybe three weeks or something. Just stayed locked in his room. That’s what Jake told me. Don’t know what to make out of it though,” the girl chuckled, “I mean it’s Bucky we’re talking about.”
As Bucky’s name entered the conversation, your ears perked up, and you felt compelled to listen. Thoughts swirl in your mind, multiplying like rabbits in a field. Was that night you picked up Pietro the last party he attended? Why the sudden disappearance into seclusion? Why would he lock himself in his room? Why did he dump that girl? You didn’t know who that Jake dude was but you weren’t sure if he was right.
You snapped out of your thoughts to catch the still crying girl whine again. “But I tried really hard Meg! I pinned notes on his locker, I smiled at him all the time, I sent him my notes from history per mail, the one time he didn’t come and I slipped my phone number into his backpack when he wasn’t looking-”
Suddenly you were grateful for standing right beside a toilet cause you felt the urge to vomit.
“-and he just straight up told me he’s not interested?!”
You heard the other girl, Meg, probably short for Meghan or something but why would you care, sigh. “I’m sorry El, but maybe he’s really just trying to become better than that.”
The crying thankfully stopped and was replaced by a scoff and an exasperated intake of breath. Personally, you’d describe it as overly dramatic but who were you to judge.
As the girls finally departed, leaving behind the remnants of their dramatic exchange, you released a sigh of relief.
After finishing what you came in here for in the first place you left the restroom as well and walked through the hallway on your way to your next class.
And as god, or the devil, or Mother Nature, or something the fuck else wouldn’t have it any other way there he was. Bucky was standing at his locker, taking a look at a pink piece of paper in his hand for only a second before crumpling it in his fist. You could only guess what it was.
He turned to the trash can to throw it in there and when he looked back up he met your gaze. His eyes lit up at seeing you, but nevertheless, you noticed the tired look he wore and couldn’t help but feel kinda bad for him.
Normally when passing Bucky in the hallway you wouldn’t spare him an attention spawn over two seconds but here you were giving him a somewhat genuine smile, a rare display of empathy, which he reciprocated immediately.
Even as you turned the corner and continued on your way, you couldn’t shake the sensation of his eyes lingering on you. You couldn’t suppress the warmth spreading in your stomach.
Bucky stopped asking you to come to his parties. As far as you knew he didn’t even attend them himself anymore. You shared with Wanda what you overheard in the restroom, and after confirming with Pietro, it became clear that Bucky was indeed making some significant changes in his lifestyle.
Bucky Barnes was truly an enigma.
Armed with insider information from Wanda, you learned that Bucky refrained from being seen with any girl for weeks and stopped planning and attending the frat parties. He seemingly even talked about leaving the fraternity altogether.
You don’t know what to do with those information but you did notice a shift yourself. You saw Bucky again two times since you passed him in the hallway a few days ago.
You were walking through the library together with Pietro and Wanda when you saw him sitting there in the far corner with his textbook open and a pencil poised. You stood and drank in the sight of him for a moment. His brows were furrowed deep in concentration and he lightly tapped his pen on his notebook rhythmically. He let his hair grow out a little, wisps falling onto his forehead. He sure as hell was a sight for sore eyes.
As if he picked up on your staring he lifted his head and looked over in your direction. The intensity of Bucky’s gaze sent a jolt through you, causing your heart to race as you hastily averted your eyes, feigning interest in the books on the nearby shelf. Despite your attempt to appear nonchalant, you could feel the warmth of his gaze lingering on you.
Stealing another glance in his direction, finding him still watching you, his soft smile a stark contrast to the cocky grin you were accustomed to. The corners of your mouth lifted ever so slightly without having your consent.
The sudden interruption of Pietro’s arm around your shoulders broke the spell between Bucky and you, snapping him out of his reverie. With a subtle shift in his posture, he straightened his back and lowered his head back to his textbook.
The other time, yesterday, you decided to join Wanda and grab something to eat at the canteen. As you stood in line with Wanda you were the one to feel eyes on you, prompting you to turn and find Bucky’s piercing blue gaze fixed on you.
Your lips curled in a smile and Bucky’s sweet grin in response sent a flutter through your chest.
To your own disappointment, you ended up sitting with your back to him throughout eating, though you pushed it aside.
****
It was a long day.
You had a shift at the café this morning and then went straight to Uni where you dragged yourself through your classes of the day. It was already starting to get dark when you walked around campus to get to your bus station.
This was your routine on Wednesdays but something felt weird. There was a shiver creeping up your spine and you tightened your coat around yourself, hugging your waist, as a response to that feeling of unease.
“Hey! Girl!”
Your heart dropped at the shout and although it came from behind you, you just knew it was meant for you. Unconsciously you picked up your pace, hugging yourself tighter and scolding yourself for not getting pepper spray.
“Hey, you! I’m talking to you!”
You heard quick footsteps approaching you from behind and let out a gasp as rough hands grabbed onto your wrist, turning you to the man with that gruff voice.
He was tall. His beard, grizzly and grossly outgrown, held a few drops of whatever might be in the bottle he held in his other hand. His clothes were lumpy and held stains, dark eyes pierced through you.
“I’m sure you’re so kind to give a man some money for cigarettes, little girl, huh?”
You stared at the man in front of you, frozen out of fear. Your heart plummeted in your chest and you felt the hand around your wrist tightening. You swallowed thickly but your throat still felt like sandpaper. You wanted to talk but nothing left your mouth.
“Well if I don’t get money you could always pay me differently,” He licked his lips and his eyes roamed over your body. He got hold of your other wrist and you suppressed a whimper.
You wanted to yell at him to let you go. You wanted to kick him where the sun wouldn’t shine. You wanted to scream for anybody to help you. But you couldn’t. You were frozen in place, your voice lost in your throat.
“Hey!”
Another voice.
“Let her go!”
You knew this voice. It was oddly familiar, but you couldn’t comprehend how you knew it.
There was a figure approaching in long, fast strikes and you wanted to go take a look but the man still standing in front of you grabbed you even tighter, which led to another gasp exiting your lips.
You heard your name called and looked in the direction of the newcomer.
Bucky.
It was Bucky.
Relief flooded your body and you finally were able to take a controlled intake of breath again.
“Do you know this guy?” Bucky's concerned gaze bored into you and you shook your head weakly.
That’s all he needed to turn to the guy still having a hold on your wrists. “You let her go right now!” The dangerously low and calm tone of his voice and the way he was talking to you way softer just seconds before letting you shiver.
The other guy scoffed and let your wrists fall to take a step back, holding his arms up in a surrendering kind of way. Bucky immediately stepped in front of you. “Relax man, did nothing to that girl!”
“You better want to stay the hell away from her or anyone else. I don’t want to see you here again!” Bucky’s voice was laced with a dark, threatening tone, his stance unwavering as he shielded you from the menacing stranger. Despite the age difference, Bucky’s intimidation factor was undeniable.
Said man scoffed and stumbled away a little. Bucky kept watching him till he was out of sight and turned to you in an instant. Not sure if you were okay to be touched, his hands hovered over your arms as he leaned down to catch your eye, his concern evident in every gesture.
“Hey, Y/n, are you okay?”
Your gaze remained fixated on his collarbone, unable to meet his eyes. Absentmindedly, you rubbed the wrist of your right wrist, where the man had gripped you, feeling the tenderness and likely bruises forming there.
“Doll please look at me!” he pleaded, though you remained stoic, your emotions tightly locked away. His worry was palpable, evident in the furrow of his brows and the hesitant hover of his hands, unsure of how to comfort you.
“Eyes up here sweetheart, please!” His voice was softer than you‘ve ever heard. Slowly, almost reluctantly, you lifted your head, allowing your gaze to trail up his face until your eyes met his. There was a hint of panic in his expression, his eyes searching yours with such urgency, that it was almost overwhelming. You felt a lump form in your throat at the raw emotion reflected in his blue orbs.
“That’s it doll! Just like that!” He let out a breath of relief but never took his eyes off of you. He signaled to your wrists without breaking eye contact. “Can I take a look?”
You swallowed thickly, your throat tight with emotion, but you gave a slight nod, granting Bucky permission to inspect your wrists. Gently he took your right hand in his left, lifting your sleeves with the other to reveal the red and purple marks beneath. His touch was featherlight as he trailed his fingertips over your sensitive skin, but when you recoiled slightly, he pulled back immediately, murmuring an apology.
With your eyes trained on your wrist, you felt Bucky's finger under your chin to tilt your head up gently, coaxing you to look at him once more. “I’ve got you doll, okay? He’s gone. It‘s alright!” he reassured you, a hint of fury underlying his voice as he recalled the man who caused you harm and left you in this state.
Taking a hesitant hold of your hand once again, Bucky brushed his thumb soothingly over the back, his eyes never leaving yours as he watched you intently.
Despite your curt nod, you found yourself avoiding his gaze once more.
“I know it’s hard sweetheart but I really need you to say something. Need to make sure you’re okay. Can you do that for me?” Bucky’s voice was filled with gentleness, patience, and genuine concern, causing a lump to form in your throat.
Taking a deep breath, you mustered the strength to look at him again, your eyes glazed from the overwhelming emotions consuming you.
“Thank you,” you whispered, your voice barely audible, but Bucky heard you.
He squeezed your hand lightly and rubbed his other hand along your upper arm. “No need to thank me, sweetheart! I’m glad I was there!”
“Me too,” you found yourself saying, unable to hold back the gratitude flooding your heart. It was a miracle that Bucky showed up at the right moment, and you will forever be grateful for his intervention. The thought of what could have happened if he hadn’t been there sent a shiver down your spine.
The corners of his mouth turned up slightly and he watched you with such fondness and adoration, your knees grew weak. You even managed to muster a small smile in return.
You took a deep, shuddering breath in, feeling the awkwardness settling in as you realized you had never been that close to Bucky before. Although you felt surprisingly grounded in his presence, you couldn’t shake the discomfort of the situation.
Releasing his hand, you rubbed your forehead, avoiding his gaze as you tried to find the right words. “Uhm...thank you, Bucky, really, but I think I’m just gonna…,” you trailed off, gesturing towards the bus stop in the near distance.
“Woah hold on now doll! I’m not gonna let you go home alone!” Bucky protested, shaking his head.
“It‘s fine Barnes really! I’m just gonna call Wanda or Pietro. Surely one of them can come pick me up,” you didn’t really consider calling them but you’d feel bad for inconveniencing Bucky when he would be at his flat in a few minutes himself.
But Bucky was determined.
“No need to call them. I’ll drive you! Sam has a car and we’re just, like, two minutes away,” he pleaded, gaze so intense, almost forcing you to look away.
You sighed, feeling torn. “That’s really nice but I don’t wanna bother you furthermo-”
“Y/n you’re not bothering me! Never! Now please let me do this. Let me take you home,” he interrupted gently but firmly, his grip on your elbow a reassuring presence. You tried to conceal your lingering stress, but nothing could hide it from him.
“I-I can’t ask you to do that,” you murmured, your eyes shifting.
“I’m the one asking sweetheart. Please let me drive you home.” His eyes were hard to discern in the dim light, but the sincerity and concern in his voice were unmistakable.
With a sigh and a final look at the bus stop, you nodded slowly. “Okay,” you whispered.
A smile spread on Bucky's face and he gently turned the hand on your elbow to the small of your back to lead you to the flat house.
As you approached the building, you recognized it from the brief time you spent at the party. However, without the thumping bass, overpowering smell of alcohol, and chaotic atmosphere, the place appeared surprisingly cozy in the dim light
Never once leaving contact with your back he guided you to a room at the end of the hallway. He knocks on the door softly.
“Took your sweet time man-” a guy, Sam you assumed him to be, standing in the doorframe, stopped talking upon noticing you. A slow smile curled upon his lips. “Can see why.”
“It’s not how it looks like,” Bucky hissed quickly, talking through his teeth. “Can I borrow your car?”
“Sure, man,” confirmed Sam, reaching for a key from a hook beside the door. “Don’t be too late for class tomorrow,” he added with a wink.
A lump formed in your throat as you grappled with your thoughts. It was natural to assume Bucky would have certain expectations given his reputation. After all, he was known for his past behavior of sleeping around. The transformation he seemingly went through couldn’t happen overnight, after all.
You found it hard to believe that Bucky would take advantage of your vulnerability, especially considering how he came to your rescue during the unsettling encounter just moments before. Yet, despite this reassurance, your mind continued to wrestle with uncertainty, plagued by lingering doubts and fears.
Bucky could feel you tense beside him and shot daggers at Sam even when said guy already disappeared behind the door.
As he walked you to Sam’s car, Bucky held the door open for you, guiding you inside with gentle reassurance. Determined not to leave you alone for too long, he rushed around the front of the car to take the driver’s seat.
During the drive, silence filled the car as you tried to calm your breathing, focusing on the passing scenery outside the window. Your efforts to quell your anxiety were hardly manageable, due to the bouncing of your leg and your trembling hands, fiddling with the fabric of your jacket.
Bucky discreetly stole glances at you as he drove, noticing your nervousness.
15 minutes of driving later, Bucky came to a halt in front of your apartment complex. You unbuckled yourself and before you realized what was going on Bucky opened the door at your side. You didn’t even notice him getting out of the car.
Feeling weak in your knees you got out of the car. Bucky walked you to your door, hands held by his side in case you needed him and his presence offered you a sense of comfort. As you came to a halt in front of your door, you turned your body to him, trying to muster up a smile. You attempted to convey your gratitude although that unease still lingered in your bones.
“Thank you, Barnes! For everything!”
“No need to thank me, Y/n. I’m glad I could help. Will you be okay though?” His concern was genuine, struggling to leave your side.
He looked so hesitant to leave you, it would have been adorable in other circumstances. You felt guilty for entertaining the thought he would take advantage of your situation. You even believe he would be relieved if you asked him to stay with you. You had to admit, the comfort his presence gave you was easing your anxiety, though you couldn’t ask him to stay.
You conjured up a smile. “I’ll be fine,” you assured him, unlocking your door. Bucky stayed rooted on the spot, returning an unsure smile, looking torn. “I’m gonna be okay, really! Get home safe, Barnes.”
Bucky cleared his throat, evading his eyes for a moment and taking a reluctant step backward, but he remained turned to you. After exchanging a quick goodbye you disappeared behind your door.
Bucky watched you climb the stairs through the small window in the door, his gaze unwavering even as the hallway inside turned dark again. He remained rooted outside, his thoughts consumed by concern for your well-being.
Bucky couldn’t shake the desire to talk to you again, especially since that night at the party. He tried so hard to muster up the courage, never having a problem in that department before, but he was a nervous wreck. Now, in an unexpected turn of events he did get to talk to you again, however, he despised how it had unfolded. Seeing you struggle to hold back tears, desperately trying not to break down in front of him, pained him deeply. It hurt to witness your shock, pleading with you to snap out of your state.
The thought of what could have happened if he hadn’t returned, if he hadn’t forgotten his notebook, made him feel sick to his stomach. The mere idea of leaving you to face that situation alone was unbearable to him. Now leaving you alone so shaken felt inherently wrong in any sense, but he acknowledged he didn’t know you well enough to override your request that you would be fine. His instincts urged him to stay but he had to respect your words and your space.
Bucky seethed at the thought of Sam insinuating that he would use you in such a way. Sure, Sam didn’t know what happened to you and it wasn’t his fault Bucky had a reputation like that, but somehow it made him angry. You meant more to him than that. The mere suggestion of exploiting you for his own gain left a bitter taste in his mouth, and he silently vowed to prove Sam wrong by showing you the genuine depth of his feelings and intentions.
Girls constantly approached Bucky, attempting to touch him in the hallways or slipping their phone numbers into his locker, backpack, or books. Just the other day, a particularly bold girl even tried to write her number on his hand. Although she didn’t succeed, Bucky found himself standing in front of the sink for a while, scrubbing at his hand to erase any trace of her advances.
Bucky knew that he was viewed as nothing more than a means for physical pleasure. And he was okay with that, for an embarrassingly long time. The idea of being in a committed relationship and facing the responsibilities that came with it used to repulse him. His desires were simple - a brief encounter with no strings attached, followed by a swift departure, leaving no room for emotional entanglements. At a certain time, one smirk of a pretty girl was enough to jump into bed with her.
You were pretty too. Beautiful even. He acknowledged that day one. But never did he consider reducing you to a mere physical encounter. He noticed you in the hallways and felt intrigued, contemplating flirting with you just like he did with all the other girls. However, there was something different about you. He felt nervous around you, realizing that he cared about your opinion of him more than he cared to admit. He was strangely exhilarated at finding out you would share a class in second semester, trying to find a way to build some kind of connection with you.
That night, as you expressed your disinterest in frat parties, he felt the pull you had on him, without even knowing you well. The alcohol at the party suddenly tasted sour, the air felt stifling, the crowd too dense, the music too deafening, and the girls vying for his attention became an unwelcome intrusion. Their advances left him feeling an overwhelming sense of distress.
He found himself longing to leave his old reputation behind. He wanted something meaningful, something real, and the only person he could imagine it being with was you.
But right now?
Bucky’s heart sank as he got back to Sam’s car, feeling the strong urge to stay with you and ensure your safety. Sitting in front of the steering wheel and staring at your building, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he should be by your side.
You got stuck in your head after examining your bruised wrists and trying to cool down the swelling with an ice pack. Before your panic attack rendered you useless to do anything you managed to call Wanda and she talked you through it. You stayed on the phone with her until you fell asleep.
****
As you woke up, a familiar sense of unease settled over you, accompanied by trembling hands and a racing heart. The thought of facing another day filled with potential triggers made you hesitate. You did want to attend class, unfortunately, though the looming threat of another panic attack weighed heavily on your mind. With a sigh, you made the decision to prioritize your well-being and called in sick, sending a text to Wanda to let her know.
As said girl joined you later, bearing notes and takeout, you found solace in her company on your small couch, eating and talking.
“So uhm,” Wanda began, seemingly nonchalant, but you knew her better than that, ears perking up. “I wasn’t sure if I should tell you but after Science class, I met Bucky waiting outside the hall. He was looking for you.”
Your chewing slowed as you processed her words, eyebrows knitting together, looking at her.
“He came up to me, to ask where you were and if you were okay.”
You swallowed, a wave of panic surged within you. “You didn’t tell him-”
“No! No, of course not,” she interjected you hastily, words tumbling over each other in her haste to reassure you. “I just told him you weren’t feeling well and called in sick but I don’t think he really bought that.” Her smile was sympathetic.
Your appetite forgotten you let your fork clatter into the plastic container, your forehead finding its way to the backside of the couch with a groan of frustration.
Wanda’s light chuckle broke through your troubled thoughts. “He also asked me for your number,” she revealed, her tone surprisingly casual given the weight of her words.
“What?” Your head snapped up, eyes widening in disbelief.
“Didn’t give it to him, don’t worry, though I kinda felt bad for the guy. He looked miserable.” Her voice tinged with sympathy.
Taking a deep breath, you attempted to calm the whirlwind of emotions swirling within you. Gratitude mingled with apprehension as you recalled Bucky’s unexpected kindness during yesterday’s ordeal. You remembered how his proximity seemed to ground you, warmth spreading through your body at the comfort he provided. You could still feel the lingering sensation of his hand on your back, even a day later. And yet, the intensity of those feelings scared you, threatening to unravel the carefully constructed walls you had built around your heart.
“Hey,” Wanda called out softly, her words carrying a gentle insistence. “He genuinely seemed worried. And I’m not trying to get you to befriend him or whatever but…he really is a nice guy, Y/n.”
Your gaze was fixed on Wanda, contemplation furrowing your brow.
“Listen, I don’t know what your problem is with Bucky, but-” she gave you a careful glance, “-if I’m being honest, I don’t think you know it either sweetie.”
Wanda’s words resonated with a truth you had been reluctant to acknowledge. Bucky’s genuine concern had managed to pierce through the barriers you had erected, leaving you grappling with conflicting emotions. Why did you hold onto this grudge so tightly? Was it merely a shield against vulnerability?
As you reflected on Bucky’s actions, a sense of clarity washed over you. There was truly no valid reason to hold onto the grudge you had harbored against him. He truly had consistently shown kindness and concern towards you.
Recalling the instances where he had gone out of his way to make you comfortable, a wave of gratitude washed over you. From saving you a seat in class to rescuing you from a precarious situation with a homeless man to checking in on your well-being through Wanda, Bucky had proven himself to be a decent and caring person.
With a newfound perspective, you realized that perhaps it was time to give him a change.
****
The bus was late, as usual. Today, though, you couldn’t summon the energy to care. Your mind was still swirling with thoughts, and fatigue weighed heavily on you.
Wanda saved you a seat in class, checking in on you again and although you felt way better than yesterday, you couldn’t concentrate. The voice of your professor was merely a blurred murmur in the back of your mind.
With some time to kill before your next class, you and Wanda decided to grab a coffee. However, you barely made it out of your lecture hall before hearing your name called.
Heaving a sigh, you turned around and came face to face with an approaching Bucky.
He came to a halt, looking a little sheepish now that he was standing in front of you. With his hands stuffed in his pockets, and his hair a little disheveled, he cleared his throat, seemingly unsure of where to begin.
“I’ll head out already, Y/n. Take your time.” Wanda spoke up, giving you a quick hug before passing by Bucky and throwing you a wink over her shoulder.
Bucky cleared his throat again, shuffling on his feet a little before meeting your eyes. “So, uhm, are you okay?”
A soft smile tugged at the corners of your mouth, touched by his concern. “I’m fine,” you assured him, fidgeting with your fingers. “Thank you, again!” You added quietly.
He waved away your gratitude with a casual gesture. “No need to thank me doll. I’m glad I could help.”
He smiled softly, biting his lip, though there was a hint of something more in his expression. Sensing he still had something on his mind, trying to figure out how to say it, you remained silent.
“Listen, uh...,” he began, clenching his jaw and avoiding eye contact. “I wanted to apologize for…well for being pushy about the parties and all. Shouldn’t have bothered you like that.”
You blinked, taken aback by his unexpected apology. “Oh, uhm..it’s okay Barnes, really.”
He shook his head, letting out a breath. “Nah, it’s not. This isn’t your scene, should have respected that.” He opened his mouth again but closed it right after, swallowing.
“Don’t worry about it Barnes, it’s alright, seriously.” A tinge of disappointment lingered within you. The realization hit you, that without his invitations to parties, he might not seek you out as often. He only ever did, when asking you to come to his parties. So it would mean he might not annoyingly interrupt you in class, or approach you on campus anymore. You scolded yourself for feeling that way but you somehow didn’t want to lose that.
Needing to take hold of your thoughts, you wanted to get away from here. Your lips curled in a smile. “Alright, uhm, Wanda’s probably waiting for me so-” You were about to turn away but Bucky called your name again.
“Hey, uh-” he seemed nervous, his voice wavering slightly and he cleared his throat, a hand coming up to run through his hair. “You could always come to me - I mean, the frat - when you’re here late. I can always drive you again. Make sure you get home safe.”
He felt bad for bringing up the topic again, but he wanted you to know that he genuinely cared and would feel better if you reached out to him. He would gladly drive you home again, hoping you’d consider taking him up on his offer.
Surprised once more, you blinked at him, processing his offer. You mustered up a smile. “That’s nice, really Barnes, but I think I’ll be okay.”
“Alright, well, just know that I’ll be there if you change your mind,” Bucky replied, his tone sincere, expression soft.
You smiled again, nodded, and bid him goodbye.
Reflecting on the interaction, you couldn’t help but agree with Wanda. Bucky Barnes was a decent guy, held back by his reputation.

Sunlight streamed through the windows of the library, casting warm beams that danced upon the wooden tables and bookshelves. It was a stark contrast to the earlier rain, which had cloaked the world outside in a shroud of grey.
The faint whispers of fellow students, the gentle rustle of pages, and the occasional creak of wooden chairs created a soothing ambiance while you browsed through your textbook.
A groan from beside you, however, interrupted that. You lifted your head, diverting your attention to your friend sitting beside you.
“Why is all the information so scattered? Can’t find shit for this stupid paper.” Wanda exclaimed, her brow furrowed in frustration as she stared at her laptop screen.
As you chuckled and leaned in to help Wanda navigate through the vast sea of information on the internet, a sudden gust of wind sent a shiver down your spine, causing you to instinctively turn your head towards the entrance of the library. In walked Bucky, accompanied by the familiar figure of Sam. You quickly everted your gaze, not wanting to be caught staring.
In the two weeks since your conversation, there had been a palpable change in the air whenever Bucky and you crossed paths. And that was a lot. You haven’t necessarily exchanged words but you grew more enthusiastic when seeing him, sending a smile his way, which he reciprocated immediately.
You were sitting in a café last week, nursing a latte, while having light conversation with Wanda and Pietro, as you recognized Bucky standing at the counter. Without thinking you lifted your hand and waved at him when he looked in your direction. His face lit up, crinkles forming at the corners of his eyes as he smiled and eagerly waved back. He seemed to contemplate walking over to you, your hopes rising for a second, but his name called by the barista snapped his head away from you. After getting his coffee he sent another smile your way but left the café. Wanda and Pietro wasted no time in teasing you mercilessly after he was out of sight. The blush on your cheeks evidence of your embarrassment.
“God, this is getting ridiculous,” Wanda scoffed, amusement lacing her features. You turned to her, a hint of confusion evident on your face, oblivious to what she was referring to. She nodded subtly to the side, her attention still fixed on her laptop screen. Following her nod, you spotted Bucky and Sam standing in the near distance, both seemingly focused in your direction.
Sam's face lit up with a mischievous grin and he started walking toward you girls, clapping Bucky on the back. Bucky looked visibly distressed, running a hand through his hair, before following behind.
Sam took a seat in front of Wanda and you, his toothy smile lighting up his face. “Ladies,” he acknowledged playfully.
Wanda laughed, continuing to type on her laptop. “What do you want Wilson?” she asked teasingly.
Sam leaned back in his chair, his grin widening. “Just wanted to say hi,” he replied casually, shrugging his shoulders.
Meanwhile, Bucky took a seat next to Sam, looking a little awkward. He shuffled a little, leaning his elbows onto the table.
“Well hi, then,” Wanda said, finally looking up.
As Sam and Wanda dove into a discussion about their research papers, exchanging ideas and sharing insights, Bucky and you found yourselves stealing glances at each other.
There was a warmth in Bucky’s eyes, a softness you still were trying to get accustomed to. You felt a flutter of excitement in your chest, you didn’t even try to suppress.
Bucky cleared his throat, looking solely at you. “What’s your paper about?” he asked, his voice gentle yet filled with curiosity.
You smiled, grateful for the new opportunity to engage him in conversation. “I’m researching the impact of technology on interpersonal relationships,” you replied, the initial awkwardness fading away.
Bucky nodded, his interest piqued. With that you delved into a light conversation, discussing your topic in more detail, diving into the various aspects you were exploring and the questions you hoped to answer. Bucky’s gaze never wavered, his attention fully captivated by your words. You noticed that whenever you tried to turn the conversation back to him, Bucky seemed more interested in talking about you.
As the conversation between Bucky and you flowed effortlessly, you found yourselves delving into deeper topics. Bucky’s genuine curiosity about you as a person was evident, and you felt a surge of warmth spreading throughout your body at his interest in getting to know you better. He asked about your hobbies, your favorite books, your dreams for the future - anything and everything he could think of to get to know you better. A spark elicited in Bucky’s eyes at some point, as if he found something in your words that resonated with him on a deeper level.
It felt like you talked to Bucky for hours though it couldn’t have been more than half an hour. The presence of Wanda and Sam had long faded into the background, as Bucky and you connected. To your disappointment, Sam and Bucky had another class and bid you girls goodbye, wishing you good luck with your papers furthermore.
Wanda held her mouth after they left but the knowing smirk in her glance spoke volumes.
****
Weeks passed in a blissful blur. Your encounters with Bucky on campus evolved into something more than just brief exchanges. Conversations became the norm, each one stretching longer than the last, until you found yourself losing track of time altogether, arriving late to class oftentimes. Whenever your schedules allowed it, Wanda and you would meet up with Bucky and Sam to grab some coffee.
The soft smiles filled with adoration that Bucky sent your way didn’t go unnoticed, even when he thought you weren’t looking. You also noticed the little gestures, the quick hugs, he never seemed to pull away from fist, the hover of his hand over your back when walking around campus with you. He pulled you closer to his side a few days ago, his hand gently gripping the sleeve of your jacket as you navigated through the crowded hallway. Your heart skipped a beat at that.
And then there were moments when he seemed on the verge of saying something before parting ways, his lips parting as if he wanted to speak his mind, but then thinking better of it and closing his mouth with a clear of his throat and a hand running through his brown locks. His former cockiness seemed to have given way to a newfound shyness. He was holding back, afraid to cross some invisible line but you didn’t know how to approach him on that.
You also didn’t know if you eventually could cross a line at this moment. Darkness enveloped the campus, casting eerie shadows that danced in the dim light of the flickering lampposts. Wanda and Pietro were out of town and you decided to stay a little longer and finish up your notes. A bad move on your part.
The once bustling grounds now lay deserted, devoid of the usual throngs of students. A sense of unease settled in the pit of your stomach, gnawing at you with every step. The silence was deafening, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves in the wind or the distant hum of a passing car. Every shadow seemed to hold a hidden threat, every rustle of the wind a whisper of danger.
You were thinking about the offer Bucky had made you a few weeks ago to go by his flat and let him drive you home again. You considered going to him but although he had made you that offer you didn’t want to inconvenience him. And just walking to his flat and asking him to drive you home? It seemed weird. But as your anxiety intensified and your hands started to tremble, you found yourself walking towards his flat on autopilot. The memory of your previous panic attack loomed large in your mind, threatening to engulf you once again.
There was a guy standing in the doorway with a cigarette in hand. You were approaching cautiously, not sure if this was a good idea.
“Hey, you lost?”
The sound of the stranger’s voice jolted you out of your anxious reverie, pulling you back to the present, momentarily breaking the spell of fear that had gripped you.
You took a deep breath, trying to steady your nerves as you responded. “Uhm, actually I wanted...to Bucky.” Your voice wavered slightly, betraying the uncertainty that still lingered within you.
The stranger raised an eyebrow, eyeing you curiously as he took a drag from his cigarette. “Huh,” he muttered, looking you up and down. “Guy hasn’t had a girl over in weeks.”
You cleared your throat, too caught up in your own anxious thoughts to care about the stranger’s assumptions.
“Well, is he here?”
He nodded, a sly smirk forming on his lips. “Up the stairs, last door to the left,” he replied, gesturing vaguely in the direction of the staircase.
With a weak “thank you” you stepped past him and walked up the stairs, your heart pounding in your chest.
You stood in front of his door, staring at it long enough to notice the cracks in the woods, marring it’s surface, splinters standing out. Your lip was held in a death grip, teeth biting down on it. With a hesitant breath, you finally mustered up the courage to give the door a soft knock, the sound echoing faintly in the empty hallway. As you withdrew your hand you hid the shakiness in the folds of your sleeves.
There was a groan on the other side of the door, as response to your knock. A lump burned in your throat and you played with the thought to just bold out of that house again when you heard the doorknob turning.
“Sam, come on man-” Bucky stopped talking abruptly upon seeing you. His eyes grew wide, eyebrows shooting up, surprise clear as day upon his face.
“Y/n? I-Wow, uh, I didn’t expect you here,” Bucky stammered, shuffling on his feet and his hand running through his disheveled hair in a futile attempt to compose himself.
“Uhm,” you choked out, looking at you feet. “I-I’m sorry for bothering you, I just…I didn’t-”
“Hey, hey, doll, it’s alright,” he met you in the hallway, a hand coming up to your upper arm in a sense of urgency. He hooked his finger under your chin to lift your head. You met his eyes, your heart leaving your chest altogether. His face was twisted in worry, brows furrowed deeply, eyes so focused on you, the intensity of it washed over you like a wave. Your breaths still came in too elated, heart beating erratically. “Take some deep breaths for me sweetheart, follow my lead, come on.” He urged you softly.
With Bucky’s guidance, you focused on your breathing, drawing in slow, steady inhalations and exhaling the tension that had taken hold of your body. His thumb continued to trace soothing circles on his skin. As you followed Bucky’s lead, the erratic beat of your heart gradually slowed to a more steady rhythm.
“Atta girl, that’s it!” he whispered, rubbing his other hand up and down your arm. He nodded at you to keep breathing, eyes so intense it was the only thing you could focus on.
Standing directly in front of you and focusing on your eyes, he let your chin up to gently grab your other arm. “You wanna tell me what happened?” His low and gentle tone soothing you.
You took a deep breath, feeling ridiculous out of a sudden to stand here and burden him. “I-My bus didn’t come and-and I don’t know, I got scared I guess and…God I’m sorry Bucky I shouldn’t have come I-”
“Hold on a sec doll,” he interjected, brows pulled together further, concern dripping from his words. “You stayed on campus until now?” A confirming but weak nod of you let Bucky heave a breath. “There’s no need to apologize, sweetheart, I told you you could come, didn’t I? And god help me, I’m glad you did.”
He looked pained to some extent, but mustered up a warm smile. You bit the inside of your cheek, eyes still shifting with uncertainty and your hands were still secured in your sleeves, the nagging thought that you were burdening him still lingering at the back of your mind. Your tense posture didn’t go unnoticed by Bucky and he pulled you in his embrace, engulfing you in a warm hug. He never hugged you like that before but with the way his arms around you tightened and he leaned his head against yours, he supposedly wanted to.
As Bucky held you close, his warm breath tickling your ear and sending shivers down your spine, he whispered words of comfort and reassurance that washed over you like a gentle breeze. You couldn’t quite make out what he was saying, all you could do was melt into his embrace and let the soothing cadence of his voice and the tenderness in his touch ease the knots of anxiety that had gripped your chest.
Bucky withdrew slightly to look at you again, his gaze filled with affection and tenderness. “You want me to drive you home, doll?” he whispered, maintaining the close proximity you two harbored.
As you pondered his question, conflicted emotions swirled within you. Initially, you had sought Bucky out precisely for this reason - to ask for a ride home. But now, something had shifted. The idea of being dropped off alone at home felt less appealing. Wanda and Pietro were likely unavailable, and you hesitated to inconvenience anyone else. Yet, the thought of being alone right now was equally unsettling.
Sensing your hesitation, Bucky gently lifted your head again with his finger under your chin, guiding your gaze to meet his. There was a soft smile you came face to face with. “Sam’s not here for tonight…Do you wanna stay? It’s just us.”
The offer was tempting, but you couldn’t shake the worry of being a bother. “That’s nice Bucky, but I-I don’t want to intrude,” you murmured, matching his quiet tone.
“You’d never intrude, sweetheart! Don’t ever worry about that, alright?” His hand found its way to the small of your back, guiding you into his room.
You settled on his bed as he led you there and couldn’t help but steal a glance around the room. It was surprisingly tidy, save for a small pile of clothes scattered on the floor. Overall, the atmosphere felt organized and put together. Your eyes drifted to his desk - again, neatly arranged - where a framed picture caught your attention. In it was a clearly younger Bucky, with chubby cheeks and a toothy grin. Standing behind him was a man who bore a striking resemblance to him, his father you guessed. A woman was beside him, dark hair in a bun atop her head and a radiant smile, presumably his mother. Cradled in the woman’s arms was a little girl, short brunette hair a little disheveled, and with a pacifier in her mouth but a joyful grin on her face.
A soft smile tugged at your lips as you took in the sight of his family. While Bucky had mentioned having a sister during your conversation in the library, he had never shown you pictures before.
Bucky entered your field of vision, settling down beside you with a glass of water in hand. He held it out to you and you thanked him gratefully, taking a sip.
You felt Bucky shifting beside you, wiping his hands on his jeans, betraying his nervousness. “Do you-” His voice was raspy and he cleared his throat, starting again, “Do you need anything? Are you hungry? Can I get you something?”
You huffed out a laugh, throwing him a grateful smile. “I’m good, Bucky, thank you!”
A hesitant hand came to rest on your knee. “You let me know if there’s something, alright?”
“Will do, Buck!”
He gave you a look. “I mean it, doll!”
You chuckled, being surprised by how easily Bucky managed to ground you, getting you out of your nervous spiraling. “I know, Barnes.”
Bucky watched you, own lips curled in a soft smile. You returned his gaze, warmth spreading through you at the sparkle in his eyes. His hand remained secure on your knee, his thumb tracing gentle circles on your jeans, a gesture that made you yearn for his touch on your skin instead. The amount of adoration twinkling in his gaze made you weak. Seconds ticked by and you still were looking at each other. There was something in his gaze that couldn’t bring yourself to look anywhere else. A magnetic pull you were drawn to, holding you captive. You noticed his blues flicker down to your lips for a brief moment, and in response, your own eyes permitted themselves to wander to his. The movement of his thumb stilled on your leg, his hand laying flat and you could feel him leaning in.
Bucky often found himself lost in thoughts about kissing you. When the urge washed over him he imagined leaning in and capturing your lips with his own. But he had always held back, hesitant to take that final step without knowing if you wanted it too.
One time, when you two were walking together through campus, the wind was relentless, whipping your hair around your face as you tried in vain to tame it. Despite your efforts though, the wind was hard to go against and after the fifth failed attempt at trying to tame your hair, you started laughing, Bucky joining in. As he watched you, your hair obscuring your view, he couldn’t help the warmth swelling in his heart, the fondness that made his smile ache in his cheeks at the sight of your laughter. He found himself wishing to pull you close, to gently brush the strands of hair away from your face, and to kiss you with all the pent-up longing he felt. In that moment, all he wanted was to express the depth of his feelings for you in a kiss that would leave you breathless.
He often daydreamed about kissing you in the library. Surrounded by the soft glow of sunlight streaming through the windows, you sat immersed in your studies, your face illuminated by the gentle light. You looked so beautiful, all he could do was admire you. If only you had lifted your head from your notebook, you would have seen the adoring smile that graced his lips. He longed to express his affection for you in the form of a tender kiss, holding you close and sharing a moment of intimacy amidst the quiet serenity of the library. But he couldn’t do that, so he took the chance and admired you from afar.
But the one time he almost really did it was the time you called him ‘Bucky’ for the first time.
You sit in your usual café, nursing a large cup of coffee, the rich aroma wafting up to greet you with each sip. Bucky is seated in front of you, idly fiddling with the sugar packages stored in a box on the table. Your notebook lies open in front of you, pages filled with scribbled notes from your recent class.
After class, Bucky had caught up with you, asking what you were up to. You had mentioned grabbing a coffee and finishing up some notes, and he had decided to tag along. However, as you now sit together in the cozy café, it seems Bucky isn’t entirely pleased with the lack of attention you’re giving him, his relentlessness evident as he fidgets with the sugar packets in front of him.
He grumpily rearranges the sugar packages for the fourth time, his irritation palpable as you remain engrossed in your writing. You hear the crinkle of a sugar packet being opened.
“I don’t need any more sugar in my coffee, Barnes,” you warn him teasingly, without lifting your head from your notebook.
“Everyone needs a little sweetness in their life, doll!” he retorts with a knowing grin, tossing you a wink as you glance back at him. With a mischievous smirk, he lets the sugar cascade into your cup.
“Whatever you say,” you reply with a laugh in your breath, shaking your head in amusement before returning your focus to your notes.
You hear him open another package and let out a sigh. “You better not do that,” you warn again, eyes not lifting.
Another rip of a sugar packet catches your attention, and you perk up to see Bucky holding both open packages over your cup, letting the sugar pour in.
“Bucky!” you exclaim, the volume of your voice drawing glances from other café patrons, but you’re too focused on the playful banter to acknowledge them. “God, I can’t believe you did that,” you groan, pulling your cup closer to your side, in mock exasperation.
As your gaze locks with his, you’re prepared to scold him further but the look on his face catches you off guard. His eyes are wide, mouth agape, morphing into a beaming smile, white teeth on display.
Your eyebrows shoot up in confusion. “What?”
“Thought I’d never get to hear you say it, doll,” Bucky laughs out, eyes sparking.
“What did I say?” you ask, puzzled by his reaction.
He leans forward, elbows resting on the table while his eyes remain fixed on you. That beaming smile is still plastered on his face, and his blue orbs seem to glow with amusement, sparking brighter than usual.
“You called me Bucky,” he points out, his voice tings with delight.
You took a deep breath in, regretting your slip-up. “Shit, I guess I did.”
Bucky now crosses his arms over his chest, leaning against the back of his seat. He doesn’t seem able to stop the smile on his face. “If all it took was to annoy you then Imma keep doing that from now on,” he declared with a playful glint in his eyes.
Head in your hands you let out a groan. Bucky barks out a laugh in front of you and you reluctantly lift your head to look at him. You point a finger at him. “I’ll keep calling you Bucky, if you stop being annoying!” you propose, trying to stay serious but not being able to stop the corners of your mouth from lifting.
“Can’t say no to that,” Bucky conceded, smile growing fond, affection radiating from him in waves.
He never stopped annoying you but you kept calling him Bucky.
But now, as he sat in front of you, his hand resting on your leg, Bucky felt the familiar urge resurface. You were in his room, smiling at him, looking so beautiful, it took his breath away. Yet, despite the overwhelming desire, he knew he would never take that final step without your explicit consent, considering the circumstances you were here right now. Your state earlier left him uneasy and a nagging guilt was gnawing within him, thinking about that night he had driven you home and then left you alone that shaken. So he needed you to want this, to be sure you were okay. He felt sick at the thought of taking advantage of you in any way.
Thus, he did lean in but didn’t go further than a few inches, giving you the opportunity to make the next move or the space to show him you weren’t ready for that.
Your eyes darted to his lips once more, leaning in yourself. Your forehead touched after some moments, noses brushing and you saw Bucky’s eyes flutter close, still not moving further. You took a few seconds before closing the gap and pressing your lips to his. Bucky let out a breath through his nose, slowly moving his lips in sync with yours. Again, he let you lead the kiss. His other hand made his way up to your face, the gentle touch of his fingertips brushing over your skin before tenderly cradling your cheek.
Eventually, you pulled away, opening your eyes but staying close to his face. Your hazy smile mirrored his, and he pulled your head back slowly, pressing a kiss to your forehead before looking back at you, fondness clear on his features. “Are you okay?” he whispered, his fingers still caressing your cheek as his intense eyes locked on yours.
You nodded, your voice barely above a whisper as you held his gaze. “Yeah.”
After a few tender moments of loving touches and whispered assurances, Bucky handed you a change of clothes and let you use the bathroom.
Emerging from the bathroom, you were now dressed in a pair of his black shorts and a shirt, the fabric enveloping you in Bucky’s comforting scent. It made your stomach do flips, feeling at ease. A soft smile graced your lips as you took in the familiar aroma.
“I got another blanket, in case you got cold…,” he trailed off as he caught sight of you. His eyes swept up and down your figure, admiring how his clothes draped over your form. Though you couldn’t quite read his expression, the slight blush coloring his cheeks was enough to make you smile sheepishly in response. Bucky cleared his throat, he did that a lot around you, and turned away a little, composing himself.
There wasn’t much space in his bed you recognized as you settled in, but somehow you didn’t mind that much. Bucky sat down on the bed, looking troubled.
“Buck? Something wrong?”
Bucky took a breath, shaking his head slightly. “No,” he breathed out, an inner turmoil in his eyes, “I just..I can sleep in Sams’ bed. Maybe tha-”
“Hey,” you interrupted him softly, “I don’t mind Bucky, really! We can share.” He didn’t look convinced so you sat up straighter and heaved a breath, trying again. “And It would make me feel better,” you admitted quietly.
That did him in, breathing out a sigh and settling in beside you. Though he relented, he still was tense beside you, his muscles stiff. His shoulders were touching yours, so he felt you starting to shiver a little. His head snapped to you in an instant.
“Are you cold? Let me get another blan-” Bucky began, already halfway off the bed before you interrupted him once more.
“Hold on! I..uhm,” you hesitated, searching for the right words to express your request, “Could you maybe…cuddle me?” You fiddled with your fingers, a little nervous about how he would react.
To your relief, you heard him shuffle towards you, and soon you felt his arm wrapping around you. You smiled and turned, positioning your back against his chest. His other arm moved hesitantly under your pillow, enveloping you in a comforting embrace. With Bucky’s presence surrounding you, you felt a sense of security wash over you, easing any lingering nerves.
“Like that?” he breathed in your hair, a whisper so full of emotion.
“Yeah,” you breathed back, a sense of gratitude washing over you, “Thank you!” It wasn’t just a thank you for holding you in that moment; it was a thank you for everything he had done for you. It was a thank you for pulling you out of your anxiety, for saving you from a panic attack you surely would have endured if it wasn’t for him. It was a thank you for him offering his comfort and support in so many ways. And it was a thank you for inviting you to his many parties because although you never really went, it was the foundation of your current relationship.
And he knew. He knew the depth of your gratitude, the depth of your feelings. Because he had learned to read and understand you. Because he had learned to love you. And he would tell you when he thought you were ready to hear it. For now, all he could do was hold you close, squeeze you just a little tighter, and silently convey his unwavering support and profound affection.

Warnings: just a bit of swearing, use of y/n like twice, mentions of drinking, mentions of sex, hurt no comfort
A/N: tried to redeem myself after that other ellie fix because i absolutely hate it anyways this is probably gonna be a series
Plot: you found ellie cheating at a party and a month later you see her again
Word count: 1,700
Part one??
be with whoever you want
i don’t care, i don’t care
The blaring lights of the party you were at made your head start to hurt. Not to mention all the people crowding around, the heat from the dozens of bodies moving across the room.
Ellie had said she was going to get a drink, 15 minutes ago. She must have gotten lost because it couldn’t have taken that long.
You awkwardly stumble in between all the people, making your way to the kitchen. It was less busy but there were still groups of friends standing around. A bad feeling already settled down in your stomach, almost as if your gut was telling you to turn around and leave immediately.
Just as you step in, you see Ellie standing with a girl, a smile plastered on her face. Their conversation is muffled but you make out most of it.
“I mean, I was just looking for a drink but I think I found something better.”
She places a hand on the girl’s waist, pulling her closer. They stare at each other for a while, everything pausing.
She wouldn’t.
The girl reaches upwards, wrapping her arms around Ellie’s neck and kissing her, you nearly fall backwards, the weight of the world seeming to crush you.
You have to stop yourself from letting out a gut-wrenching sob, deep in your soul. How could she? What the fuck happened in fifteen minutes to make her forget about you so quickly?
Before you realise what you’re doing, you find yourself walking out of the party, trying to get away from everything. It was the middle of August but somehow you were so cold, desperately trying to calm yourself down.
You called an Uber, not bothering to leave a message about why you were leaving. Out of all of the things Ellie could do, cheating on you was the last thing you could’ve thought.
She couldn’t even be bothered to hide it, blatantly kissing someone in the middle of a party you were at. It all seemed fake. You just willed yourself to wake up and find out that this was just some sick joke.
No matter what you did, the scene played through in your mind, a never-ending loop.
I think I found something better.
~
It had been four weeks since the party. The first few days went quickly, you didn’t think of her much, mainly at night when it was colder and lonely. But like many things, you had to push through it. You couldn’t let her dictate everything in your life.
After a week you started to think more. How long would it be until you talked again? No, you couldn’t fail so easily. You had to show restraint.
Evenings had become the worst time, being alone with just your thoughts and a very depressing music taste with only songs about being heartbroken and left behind. Not even your favourite shows could distract you. Everything reminded you of her, every shade of green like her eyes, sarcastic jokes making you remember the same ones she made.
Ellie wasn’t holding up well either, going to any and every party she was invited to in hopes of seeing you but ultimately being disappointed when you didn’t show up and ending the night with a temporary fling, trying to fill the hole you left. Nothing worked. It was only until her friends reminded her that you had left that she realised.
They explained to her that you had seen them and that you needed a break.
It became useless to leave her apartment anymore. She didn’t eat, didn’t sleep. Not that she wanted to. She was just—there.
Dina had noticed Ellie’s lack of enthusiasm and started dragging her outside whenever she could, making sure that she was taking care of herself and being healthy. Other than you, Dina was the only person who took an interest in Ellie and eventually they saw eye-to-eye. It was gradual but the feelings were mutual, both of them having similar interests.
You started seeing other people too, none of them making you feel the same way, however. It was enough to rely on but you weren’t committed. Maybe some of Ellie’s traits were rubbing off of you.
“You okay?”
You’re caught off guard by the person accompanying you. She was a sufficient person, kind, and caring, but she cared a little too much.
It really didn’t make sense how you were annoyed at her checking up on you but cried when Ellie would leave for days at a time. Hell, you had even forgotten her name.
“Hm? Oh, yeah, I’m fine.” You pick up a pack of grapes instinctively without realising that Ellie was the one who ate them when you bought them.
“Are you sure? You’ve been acting weird all day.” She comes up to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
“I’m fine,” you snap, leaving the basket and walking to another aisle.
Did she deserve that? No, not at all but a month had been the longest you’ve gone without seeing Ellie. Before that, it was 3 days, mainly because the urge to fuck someone became too annoying to ignore.
You angrily walk up and down the dairy aisle, thinking about everything. Did she not want you anymore? Surely a month was enough time to heal and forget everything? If you guys were going to get back together it would have happened a while ago. Maybe this was it?
As if she knew you were thinking about her, she turns down the aisle, stopping when she sees you. You can see her contemplate whether or not turning around would be a good idea but she takes a deep breath, inching closer.
She looked the same, her shoulders slightly slumped when she came towards you. What did she have to say now?
“Hey.”
“Hi.”
That was it. After a month of not seeing each other that’s all you had to say.
“How are you?” She asks, breaking the silence and sticking her hands in the pockets of her hoodie.
“I’m good, you?”
She just nods, “I’m fine as well.”
You both stand awkwardly, the freezing temperature of the fridges finally hitting you. Another person walks behind El.
“I was thinking about making pasta tonight. How does that sound?”
Ellie looks up at you before turning back, “That sounds great, um, this is y/n, Dina.”
Dina? Did she find someone else so quickly? How could she do that? It wasn’t even the girl at the party.
“Oh cool, how’d you know Ellie?”
“We were friends a while ago,” you say, holding your arms to your chest, withholding the truth. It was clearly not a good idea to spill all the messy details of your semi-relationship.
You say goodbye and walk away as fast as you could, tears trying to force out of your eyes. God, you were so stupid. Of course, she found someone else. Did you expect her to wait years? It was over now.
You wanted to feel relieved, happy that you could move on now but all you felt was pain, deep down in your soul, past your heart.
“I’m outside.”
You walk past your “partner”, telling her that you would wait in the parking lot, away from anyone. It was all too much. How could everything change in a matter of seconds like that?
Sitting on the edge of the pavement, you think about the first time you met Ellie. It was a party, one of your friend’s birthdays or something. She spotted you by yourself, standing in a corner after you caught your girlfriend cheating, again. It didn’t take much for you to go back to her apartment and spend the night and eventually, it became regular.
It was almost funny how you got cheated on twice, like history repeating itself. When it happened the first time you promised yourself that it wouldn't happen again but you got played.
Ellie didn’t make it feel meaningless, she cared. But she never showed it, the most affection she displayed was kissing your neck or hand and that was it.
When she walks out of the grocery store you see her place a hand on Dina’s face, bringing her lips close and actually kissing her. Properly. It nearly made you sob. The way she closed her eyes and helped with bags. Why couldn’t she do that with you?
They walk up to their car before El looks back at you and tells Dina to wait. Walking considerably slowly, she stands in front of you.
“So, what are you doing now?”
“It’s only been a month, El, nothing has changed.”
She sits down, still keeping a few inches between the two of you. “You don’t look okay.”
“How can you tell? You were never around to care about me.”
Humming in agreement, she sighs, going silent for a while. The silence isn’t comforting or uneasy, it was just silence. No one said anything. After about three minutes, she stands up again, not looking at you.
“I hope you know that I didn’t mean for it to end like that.”
You nod, trying to get her to make eye contact but it doesn’t happen. She didn’t mean for it to end like that. It? So she was aware of the way things ended but chose to say nothing.
You couldn’t stand even if you wanted to, it hurt too much. From their car you see Dina point towards you and Ellie shakes her head. She then responds by basically making out with her, basically having a front-row view, seeing everything through the windshield.
“Hey, I was looking for you, are you sure you’re okay?” The girl you were with comes out, holding a few bags.
“It’s over, I can’t even remember your fucking name let alone why I even agreed to be with you.”
You walk off before you can see her reaction. It felt bad, of course, but it was true.
Ellie remembered drinking herself to sleep when you weren’t there. The drowning in her chest, the look on your face when you closed the door after getting your stuff from her apartment, tattooed on her eyelids, a constant reminder of the hurt she caused.

“That’s it for today. You’re all dismissed.” Book bags and jackets zip loudly as the small lecture center begins to empty. You start packing up your things, but you don’t get out of your seat yet. This certainly has been your favorite of all the classes you’ve taken in the past four years. White Collar Crime, taught by Professor Barnes, is one of the most interesting courses you’ve taken, and you also love the professor.
Prof. Barnes is a lawyer by day, and a lecturer by evening, as he says. And though he’s often incredibly busy with cases, it's easy to see how passionate he is about teaching. You watch as he packs up his belongings, a few students quickly asking him questions about the upcoming exam. Prof. Barnes used to seem scary and intimidating to you, but after a few weeks, you started catching glimpses of his grin, of light in his eye, and you’ve been a goner ever since.
His features are sharp, and he always looks so put together. His brown hair is clipped close on the sides and kept short on top, which suits his personality well. His broody exterior is one that most people fear, but it just draws you in, and you can’t seem to stay away.
You grab your things and start toward the front of the room. Typically, you make up a question as an excuse to talk to him, but today you have a real one. You’re the last student in the room, and Prof. Barnes is already watching you approach.
“Hi,” you greet, rocking back and forth on your heels momentarily. “Last week, you mentioned being able to go over our exam answers with you, so we know what to study. Could I schedule time with you to do that?” You do your best not to let your eyes drift from his, but it’s tough. His shirts are always perfectly tailored to him, showing off his broad shoulders and strong legs.
Prof. Barnes doesn’t smile, but you can see the warmth in his eyes, which is better, in your opinion. “Of course. Do you have time now? This was my last class of the evening, so we can just go right to my office.” Your heart stutters in your chest at his words. You’ve gone to his office hours a few times, but there’ve always been other students outside or in the office with you. You’ve never been alone with him like that.
And as it turns out, you don’t have anything going on for the rest of the night. “That works for me,” you say, grinning. Prof. Barnes leads the way out of the lecture hall and to the building where his office is. Even though neither of you speaks the entire way, you’re buzzing. He walks close enough that sometimes your arms brush, and you can smell his cologne.
When you arrive in his office, Prof. Barnes instructs you to sit across from him at his desk while he gets everything ready. The office is filled with books and papers, organized in a way that doesn’t quite make sense to you, but you can imagine it’s perfect for Prof. Barnes. Your eyes trail over the spines of the books, and you notice that not all are law books, but many of them are classics.
“So, here’s your last exam,” he says, pulling your attention back to him. Prof. Barnes has laid out your scantron page as well as the exam itself, and has your grades pulled up on his computer. “You did very well, which I’m not surprised by, and the questions you did get wrong, the whole class struggled with.” Your mind short-circuits as he speaks. He’s paid enough attention to you not to be surprised by your good grade? The class itself isn’t very big, all things considered, but there are 50 students, and this isn’t the only class he teaches.
“Oh, thank you, Sir,” you reply shyly, surprised that that’s what you called him. You’ve never addressed him that way, but you love how it felt. The corner of his mouth tips up into an almost smile as he suppresses a slight shiver.
“You don’t have to call me that,” he adds, flipping through the exam booklet. You quirk an eyebrow, silently asking him to elaborate, but he doesn’t. He finds the first question you got wrong. “So here’s what you said,” he points to your answer on the scantron. “What do you think the right answer is?”
His bright blue eyes watch you as you think, tracing over your features like he’s trying to analyze you. You try not to shrink under his gaze.
“Differential association?” You suggest, not entirely sure of the response, but the way Prof. Barnes’ eyes light up tells you you’re right.
“Correct,” he says, marking down your answer on a new sheet of paper. “Good girl.” The words slip out, almost as if he didn’t mean for you to hear them, but you did, and they go straight to your lower belly, lighting a spark. Prof. Barnes doesn’t acknowledge what he’s said, opting to continue through the other questions you missed.
Each time you answer a question correctly, he smiles a little more, and looks a little more pleased. But all you can focus on is how he called you ‘good girl’. It echoes through your head, making your heart beat faster and heat lick in your belly.
As you answer the last question, Prof. Barnes’ tongue traces over his lower lip. Your eyes track the movement, and you suck in a breath. He nods, indicating your answer is correct and clasps his hands on the desk.
“You’re more than ready for the exam,” he tells you, keeping eye contact. “You need to give yourself more credit, and trust that you know the answer. You’re smart. Trust your gut, okay?” You nod, unable to tear your eyes away from his.
“Thank you, Sir,” you say, voice breathy. Alarm bells go off in your head that you’ve definitely alerted Prof. Barnes to the state that you’re in, but honestly, you don’t care. You’re sure women throw themselves at him constantly, probably even some students. He’s handsome in that classic way, strong features and bright eyes. He knows he’s attractive; he knows people want him.
He’s close enough that if you leaned in a bit, you could kiss him. You’re desperate to know what his lips would feel like against yours, what he’d taste like. Would he hold your face to lead the kiss? Would his fingers tangle in your hair?
Even though you don’t want to, you stand and gather your things. As you walk toward the door, you hear Prof. Barnes approach. He reaches the door before you and stands in front of it, blocking your exit.
He opens his mouth but closes it immediately like he isn’t sure what to say. His eyebrows furrow, and he takes a deep breath. “You liked it,” he states, as if that’s enough information for you to go off of. When you don’t respond, he continues. “You liked when you called me ‘sir’ and when I said you were a good girl.” His voice doesn’t waver, but he fists his hands like he’s holding himself back from something.
Your lips fall open, stunned at his observation. The way he’s speaking to you now makes the coil in your belly tighten, thinking about how he’d called you a good girl only fueling the feeling.
“You’re easy to read,” he continues. “You always stay after class to ask me questions. You come to my office hours when we both know damn well you don’t need the help. You bit your lip when you called me ‘sir’. You shivered when I called you ‘good girl’.” Your breathing has sped up, causing your chest to heave.
You don’t know what to say. You’re not sure you’d know how to speak even if you had the words.
“You thought I wouldn't figure it out, didn’t you, sweetheart?” He steps toward you, grips your jacket, which you’ve been clutching to your chest this whole time, and tugs it from your arms. “You thought I hadn’t seen you, that I hadn’t noticed you.”
You nod as he closes the distance between you. His smell invades your nostrils, making you feel dizzy.
“Well, I noticed, sweetheart.” Prof. Barnes places his hands on the sides of your jaw, thumbs brushing over your cheeks. He’s giving you time to pull away, giving you an out. But you don’t want it. You rest your hands in the bend of his arms and nod, giving him the permission he needs.
Prof. Barnes leans in and kisses you, pressing his lips gently to yours. He tilts your head slightly like you imagined he would, but you could never have imagined how soft his lips are. How good it feels to have his breath wash over your cheek. He tastes like coffee and something sweet, something distinctly him. He pulls you closer, removing the small space between your bodies, leaving you pressed against his chest. Prof. Barnes’ left hand leaves your face, shifting to cup the side of your neck before sliding down your back. It settles on your lower back, pressing you into him even more.
You whimper into the kiss at the feeling of him, of being so close, and he takes the opportunity to nip at your bottom lip. When he pulls away, you’re breathless. “You taste so sweet,” he muses, a smile growing on his face. “Just like I knew you would.”
Tumblr media
For the next two weeks, Professor Barnes cancels class. Even when he’s busy with a case, he never cancels; he just switches the class to online. You can’t help but feel like it’s because of you. Because of the kiss.
The kiss.
It plays on repeat in your head; it follows you into your dreams. How his lips molded to yours and his hands held your head, how they pressed you into him. It was all so perfect; it felt so right. But maybe it didn’t feel that way for Prof. Barnes. After he’d kissed you, you’d stayed for a little longer, wrapped up in him, but he got a call and had to leave right after. He’d kissed you on the way out, saying he’d see you soon, but you haven’t.
You were supposed to have Prof. Barnes’ class today. It was supposed to be a review day for the exam next class, but again, class is canceled. Once you finish your morning classes, you have no reason to stay on campus, so you start walking back to your apartment. Your phone buzzes, and when you pull it out, you find another text from your roommate begging you to go out tonight. You’ve been trying to get out of it, but you’re in the mood for a distraction, so you give in.
Later that night, you find yourself at one of the bars near campus. It’s not as packed as you thought, so you go to the bar and almost immediately get the bartender’s attention. He leans over the bar to hear you better, but you don’t miss the way his eyes roam over your figure before reaching your eyes again.
“What can I getcha?” He asks, giving you a smile. You rattle off your order and something for your roommate and make pleasant, if not flirtatious, conversation with the bartender. He’s cute but not really your type. Your type these days has been older, broodier, more intense…
You need to stop thinking about Professor Barnes. You need to get him out of your system.
The bartender, whose name you’ve learned is Troy, sets your drinks down in front of you with a wink, and you smile in return, sliding the cash over to him. Your roommate grabs her drink quickly before running off to say hi to one of her other friends, leaving you at the bar alone. You turn around to find somewhere a little less crowded when you feel someone’s eyes on you.
It takes you a second, but your gaze connects with two familiar bright blue eyes, and your breath catches in your throat.

She saw me.
I watch as the bartender gets her attention again, and though I can’t hear what they’re saying, I see her smile at him. I clench my teeth at the sight. The bartender slides something across the bar to her, and she looks surprised but accepts it, tucking it into the back pocket of her tight jeans.
She looks incredible tonight in her fitted shirt and those jeans that make her ass look perfect. The bartender gets pulled away to do his job, and I watch as the woman that has occupied my thoughts for so long turns back around and finds me in the crowd.
She is like a ray of fucking sunshine, so bright in my life, and as she walks toward me slowly, I can practically feel her warmth already. She approaches me tentatively like she’s worried I’ll disappear the moment she gets close enough to touch.
“Professor Barnes,” she whispers, but I hear her despite the noise of the crowd. It’s pathetic, the way my cock hardens just at her voice, but she has me wrapped around her little finger, whether she realizes it or not.
“Sweetheart,” I reply. I don’t miss the way she shivers, the way heat flares in her eyes.
“Where’ve you been?” She asks, fiddling with the straw in her drink. She’s avoiding eye contact, but I want to see her beautiful eyes. I stand, towering over her, and that gets her attention. She tilts her head up, and I have to stifle a groan at the sight of her looking up at me with those doe eyes.
“Did you miss me, sweetheart?” She nods just a little as if her head did it without her mind’s consent. I let my fingers trail up her bare arm, her skin soft against my calloused hand, until my hand cups her jaw. She leans into my touch, and I brush my thumb over her cheek.
I lean in, getting close enough that her shaking breaths fan over my face, and whisper, “I missed you too.” She tilts her head to try and kiss me, but I hold her face still. We’re in a bar on campus full of students. I can’t risk us being seen like this. Even touching her is dangerous.
“Oh.” She sounds defeated, and my chest squeezes. I’m not rejecting her. Quite the opposite, actually.
“The things I want to do to you, sweetheart,” I tell her, leaning my forehead against hers. “I cannot do in this bar.” Her breath stutters and her eyes glaze over with need. She quickly downs her drink and finds her roommate to tell her she’s leaving. When she returns to me, her nerves and excitement pour from her, and I feel myself beginning to smile.
“Where are we going?” She asks, her tongue darting out to wet her lower lip. I tangle my fingers with her and tug her toward the door. My car is parked a block away. I didn’t drink. I didn’t come here to drink, so I’m good to drive.
The drive to my place is only about 10 minutes, but it feels like hours. I grip the steering wheel so tightly that my knuckles go pale. I’m desperate to taste her again, to feel her writhing against me. I’d wanted to take her right then and there in my office, but it was too risky. I’m so close to having her after waiting for what’s felt like forever.
We pull into the driveway of my house, and I watch her take a deep breath. I can tell she’s nervous, but I also see the way she’s watching my every move, the way she so clearly wants me.
I shut the front door behind her, and I’m on her. I press her back against the door and kiss her. She tastes so fucking good, so soft and sweet against my lips. She grips my jacket as my fingers tangle in her hair. My tongue swipes across the seam of her lips, and she opens for me with a moan.
“You’re so sweet, baby,” I whisper against her lips. She shudders, arching against me. My cock is hard in my jeans, and I grind against her to show her just how much she affects me. I kiss her again, drinking in the way she reacts to every touch.
“Please,” she moans. I pull back slightly and take in the way her face is twisted in pleasure.
“Please, what, sweetheart?” She furrows her brows in frustration, and I can’t help but smirk as she does it. She’s so worked up, but I want her begging.
She pants for a moment before finding her words. “I just need you,” she whispers. “Please, Sir, I need you so bad.” Her voice comes out a needy whine, and the way she calls me sir nearly sends me over the edge.
“Good girl.” I press a bruising kiss to her again before I pick her up princess-style. I walk her up the stairs to my bedroom and toss her on my bed. I can’t believe I haven’t done this sooner, that I tried to deny myself the pleasure of seeing her on my bed, panting and wanting.
I shrug off my jacket and toss it aside before approaching the bed. She looks up at me with big doe eyes, those eyes that watch me every time we’re in class, the ones that I’ve seen in my dreams. I lean over the bed and grab her ankles, tugging her until her legs hang over the edge.
She watches my hands as I run my hands up her legs, appreciating every beautiful curve of her body. My fingers tease the skin above her waistband. I move to unbutton her jeans, waiting for her to tell me to go on, and once she nods, I peel them off her.
I am breathless, utterly hypnotized by her as I kneel at the foot of the bed. Her panties are simple, lacy and black, and when I run my thumb up and down over her pussy, she lets out the most beautiful moan.
“You know how long I’ve wanted this?” I ask, rubbing a circle over her clit. She shakes her head, fisting the sheets. “Since the day I saw you, I’ve wanted you. Every time you came to my office, I wanted to kick everyone out and put you over my desk. I’ve wanted to keep you after class every day, have you moaning my name so loud it would echo in the lecture hall.”
When she lets out a strangled moan, I pull her panties down and revel in how gorgeous and wet she is. I tuck her panties into my pocket and run my hands over her bare skin. She shivers and tries to pull her legs together, but I don’t let her.
“I’ve wanted to taste you since I saw you. You gonna let me taste you, sweetheart?” I ask, adding a teasing tone to my voice.
“Please,” she begs. “Please, Sir.” I grin at her pussy and dive in. The second my tongue swipes over her pussy she arches, her fingers digging into my hair. She lets out a string of expletives as I suck her clit and explore her perfect cunt.
She tastes so much better than I ever could have imagined, and I know I’ll be addicted to this forever. She is so responsive, so sensitive to every swipe of my tongue, and all it does is make me work harder for her. I graze my teeth over her clit, and she jolts but pulls my hair more, guiding me to exactly where she wants me.
I work her up more and more until I feel her trembling beneath me. “You wanna come, sweetheart?” I ask, sliding a finger into her pussy. She’s hot and tight around my finger, and I feel her clench around it.
“Yes, please,” she replies, voice breathy from the pleasure. I click my tongue in mock-disappointment. I nip at her inner thigh, soothing the bite with a kiss.
“Please, who? Who’s making you feel good? Who’s gonna make you come?” She squirms a little and tries to get me to keep eating her out, but I don’t give in, no matter how much I want to keep tasting her.
“Please, Sir,” she amends. “You’re making me feel so good, please, Sir. I need you so bad.”
“Such a good girl,” I groan. I double my efforts on her clit and slide a second finger inside her, hitting a spot that makes her twitch.
Her legs tighten around my head as she comes, and it takes everything in me to not come right along with her. I ease up when I notice her getting too sensitive and kiss my way up her body.
“You’re perfect,” I tell her, sucking a mark on her neck. She helps me pull her shirt and bra off before she starts working my shirt off as well. A moment later, we’re both naked, and I love the way her eyes trace over every inch of me.
She pulls me in for another kiss, and I lean on my forearms, keeping myself hovering just over her.
“I’ve wanted this for so long,” she tells me between kisses. “Wanted you for so long.” I grin into the kiss, then pull away to dig through my bedside table for a condom. She watches with hooded, lust-filled eyes.
“This okay?” I ask, rolling the condom onto myself. I don’t think I’ve ever been this hard in my life. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted someone how I want her.
She nods enthusiastically. “Please, Sir, please fuck me.” My head lulls back at her words.
I line myself up with her pussy and push in just a little, watching her face contort. Inch by inch, I sink inside her wet heat, and once I’m fully inside her, I let out a low moan. I give her a moment to adjust before I pull out and slam back in.
I know I should be gentle, that I should warm her up to this, but I can’t. There will be time for gentleness, and now’s not that time. I set a brutal, deep pace, and she takes it like the good girl she is.
Her fingers scrape down my back as she urges me on, legs wrapping around me to keep me close. I knew she’d be able to take it. I knew she’d be good for me. I tell her over and over how perfect she feels, how good she’s taking me, and every word of praise makes her squeeze tighter around me.
“Oh my god, I’m so close,” she moans.
“Come for me, sweetheart. Come all over my dick.” I keep doing what I know she likes and watch as she falls apart beneath me. I’ve never seen anything more beautiful than this. Than her. Once she comes down from her high, I switch our position. I turn her over and hike her ass up, keeping her head low on the mattress. My mouth waters as I press into her again. Her jaw drops open, and her eyes squeeze shut, and I start fucking her again.
Each sound she makes goes straight to my cock. Every moan, every whimper, brings me closer to the edge. I grip her hips hard, but I don’t care if I’m leaving marks. I want her to see them, to run her fingers over them as she thinks about the way I made her come on my cock.
My hips start to stutter, my thrust getting sloppy as I get closer and closer to coming. I wish I could fill her up and see my cum drip out of her, but I know we’re not there yet. I haul her chest up, pressing her back to my front, and snake my hands around her. One of my hands cups her neck, not choking her but gripping it, and the other teases her breast. My fingers tweak her nipple, and she jolts in my hold.
“You like it when I fuck you like this?” I ask, punctuating my words with deeper thrusts. She moans but doesn’t answer. “Answer me, sweetheart,” I say, practically scolding her.
“Fuck, I love it so much, Sir.” Her voice is strung out with pleasure. The hand that has been playing with her breasts falls to her pussy, and I tease her clit, pulling another orgasm out of her. She’s so loud when she comes, and it pulls me over with her.
I come hard, my vision blacking out on the edges, and we collapse together on the bed.
We watch each other as we come down from our highs. She smiles sheepishly at me, and I kiss away any doubts that might be clouding her mind right now. “That was perfect,” I tell her, kissing her nose.
“Thank you, Sir,” she replies. I pull her close to me, wrapping her in my arms.
“You know you don’t have to call me that,” I remind her. She tilts her head up to keep eye contact, and I love the light that shines in her beautiful eyes.
“What should I call you then?”
“Bucky.” She smiles at the nickname my friend gave me when we were younger.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Bucky.” She giggles as I kiss her, and I lock that sound away, keeping it somewhere I’ll never lose it.
“Nice to meet you, sweetheart.”
