How’d you think the Lin Kuei boys show their affection to their partner?
It’s kinda short but irl I’m actually so bad at affection, it’s stupid. They all have around 300 words👍🏾
Bi-Han
Tumblr media
I feel like as the Grandmaster and having so many responsibilities, he'd appreciate someone who does things for him. So his way of showing affection is to do the same for them
Handling chores, leaving you bowls of fruit, cooking for when you return, stuff like that.
I don't think he's the type to say “I love you much” either. Words are cheap. Actions show you how much someone truly cares
If you're a fighter, he'd also show affection by tending to you if you're harmed and checking in from time to time
Also sparring. This may not seem like something affectionate but in his mind, him sparring with you shows he cares about you enough to try and sharpen your skills. It means he cares about your safety.
Affection to him can be somewhat uncomfortable, so don't expect him to do huge grand gestures. His version of love is more quiet and private. Honestly you wouldn't be wrong if you felt a bit neglected
Neglecting you wouldn't be on purpose though. He just feels that certain things are unnecessary. Constantly touching, being near each other, whispering sweet things, and all that other type of shit just isn't his vibe. It's unnecessary and it seems like it's more for showing other people you love your partner than actually loving them (his thoughts. I know y'all like to tussle)
You'd have to ask him to do those things if you're into it. Doesn't mean he'll be good at it though
Since he's such a combat heavy, “I don't want peace, I want PROBLEMS ALWAYS” type of guy I can see him also showing affection by giving you things to improve your combat
He'd give you weapons that he knows you specialize in. Like, if you're someone who uses a spear, he'd go out of his way to get you a new one.
His version of affection is subtle but it's definitely there.
Kuai Liang
Tumblr media
Kuai Liang is definitely more comfortable when it comes to affection
I can see him also giving you gifts for combat. Bi-Han gives you things you specialize in, but Kuai Liang is the type to give some of his weapons
Kuai Liang is gone a lot so I think he'd show affection by giving you things that belong to him so you'll have something to remember him, and you can give him something of yours
I can see him giving gifts in general to make up for his absence in your relationship. He wouldn't just throw gifts at you though. It'd be gifts he specifically knows you'd enjoy
Kuai Liang pays lots of attention to you so anything he gives you would be perfect. You wouldn't have to worry about having to fake being happy because he pays too much attention to give you smth shitty
Memorizes very small details about you too. Does this count as affection? Depends on who you ask.
He's also more comfortable with being physical so I can see him touching you a lot. No I don't mean sexually. I'd never write such a thing and y'all have no proof 🙄
In all seriousness, I think he enjoys casual physical touch. The type to randomly put a hand on your shoulder or place his hand on your thigh
Compliments you a lot also. Lots of skill based compliments
Compliments you on your fighting or hobbies you're improving in.
I feel like his version of affection is very stereotypical, ya know? The hand holding, the walking alone, the various compliments, shit people think of when they think of a relationship
I do however think he'd prefer some stuff to be in private. Everyone doesn't need to see you two do everything if that makes sense
You'd feel very loved with him though
He really gives me the vibes of a stereotypical loving husband. He's grown. Life is short. Why wouldn't he show you how much he cares?
Tomas Vrbada
Tumblr media
I think his version of affection would be lots and lots of quality time
He legit wants to do everything with you. Not in a toxic and obsessive way. He just enjoys your company
He'd probably worry he's being annoying but when he's reassured that it's ok, he's on your heels
I think he'd enjoy making things with you. Could be jewelry. Could be cooking. Could be baking. As long as it's something together and you can share it, he enjoys it
He's probably fine with public affection too as long as it's not extremely intense. Don't try to stick your tongue down his throat in public. Have some decorum.
I can also see him being so in love with someone that he talks about them often. So much so, word would end up getting back to you that he just won't shut the fuck up
I think he'd be ok with physical touch. I can see him being cool with hanging out and cuddling. It'd be such a change of pace compared to the usual hostile and combat filled life he lives
He really enjoys your presence and being around someone who's peaceful and doesn't have unnecessarily high expectations of him
Back to what I said earlier about cooking, I think that would be his favorite thing to do with you. Food can bring people together and inviting you to cook or bake with him brings you two closer. He'd probably let you pick what to make too.
I can see him doing corny shit too if you asked. Like if you said “hey can you write me a love letter even though we're sitting right next to each other?”, he'd probably say “umm, sure”.
I just think he'd really enjoy having a person that was just for him and it'd be very very clear
Similar mindset to Kuai Liang in terms of “why wouldn’t I show my partner affection when I can die at any point?”
I tried to use different gifs than usual but I probably did not😀

How did the idea for Brooklyn Bridge Park originated, and when was it established?
Brooklyn Bridge Park stands as a testament to urban revitalization and community-driven development, offering a picturesque oasis along the East River waterfront. The park's inception is rooted in a combination of civic activism, visionary planning, and the desire to transform a neglected industrial waterfront into a vibrant public space. In this article, we delve into the fascinating history of Brooklyn Bridge Park, exploring its origins and the journey that led to its establishment.
The Genesis of the Idea:
The idea for Brooklyn Bridge Park germinated in the 1980s, a time when the Brooklyn waterfront was marked by dilapidated piers and neglected industrial spaces. The seeds of change were sown when community activists, urban planners, and environmental advocates began envisioning a transformation of this underutilized waterfront into a dynamic green space for the public to enjoy.
One of the key catalysts for the park's creation was the collapse of the old Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE) that ran along the waterfront. This incident forced a reevaluation of the use of the space, sparking conversations about creating a park that could serve as a recreational haven and a connector between various Brooklyn neighborhoods.
Community Engagement and Planning:
The idea gained momentum through extensive community engagement and collaboration. Local residents, environmental groups, and civic organizations joined forces to advocate for the creation of a waterfront park that would preserve open space, provide recreational opportunities, and enhance the overall quality of life in Brooklyn.
In the early 2000s, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation (BBPDC) was established to oversee the planning and development of the park. An ambitious master plan was crafted, envisioning a park that seamlessly integrated natural landscapes, recreational facilities, and cultural spaces.
Establishment and Development:
Brooklyn Bridge Park officially broke ground in 2008, marking the beginning of a transformative journey. The park was developed in phases, with each section carefully designed to cater to a diverse range of interests and activities. The conversion of old industrial piers into recreational and cultural hubs became a hallmark of the park's development.
The park's features include sports fields, playgrounds, waterfront promenades, and even a floating pool. Piers 1 through 6 were successively opened to the public, with each phase adding new dimensions to the park's offerings. The adaptive reuse of historic structures, like the Empire Stores and the Tobacco Warehouse, added cultural depth to the park, connecting visitors with the rich history of the Brooklyn waterfront.
Brooklyn Bridge Park Today:
Brooklyn Bridge Park has become a cherished destination for locals and tourists alike. Its success lies not only in its stunning design and diverse amenities but also in its ability to foster a sense of community and connection. The park continues to evolve, with plans for additional sections and improvements that promise to enhance the visitor experience further.
Conclusion:
Brooklyn Bridge Park stands as a testament to the power of community vision and collaborative urban planning. From its humble beginnings as a dream to transform a neglected waterfront into a thriving public space, the park has become a symbol of Brooklyn's resilience and creativity. As it continues to grow and adapt to the changing needs of its community, Brooklyn Bridge Park remains a shining example of how thoughtful development can transform urban landscapes and enhance the quality of life for generations to come.

The expectation of trans medical care being 100% safe and never having a negative outcome is not consistent with any other kind of medical care.
People have negative outcomes and regret in all other genres of healthcare. There is very often a risk/reward analysis that patients and doctors have to assess when considering various medications and treatments. And the risks come to fruition more than healthy people probably realize. The number of side effects I, myself, have experienced would probably shock some people. But under the circumstances, my doctor and I felt it was a risk worth taking if it would improve my quality of life.
Even elective cosmetic procedures have risks that have been accepted for decades. Breast implants often have to be redone or removed. They can have serious complications. People think it is such a benign procedure without much risk and it really is not. Yet I see no legislature trying to ban them for minors.
These lawmakers want to hold gender affirming care to an impossible standard despite a truly remarkable low regret rate.

Hi! This request was easier to search for, so I see you’ve recommended Hearts of Wulin and Ten Thousand Days for the Sword. Do you have any other wuxia or xianxia game recs?
Have a good day!
THEME: Wuxia Games.
Hello friend, I'm certainly not an expert, but after reaching out to some more knowledgeable folks, I think I have a few!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall, by Wet Ink Games.
This is a collaborative, storytelling RPG about a Chinese family making their living by running a restaurant in one of America’s Chinatowns, circa 1920. Despite societal backlash and anti-Chinese laws, they have turned a profit and their quality of life has recently improved.
Night, however, brings a new terror.
Players take on the roles of members of the Chinese family (mostly from Guangdong province), spanning three generations, who face threats of jiangshi (hopping vampires) at night and racism by day. It has players balancing the responsibility of maintaining their family business with protecting themselves and their community from the dreaded Jiangshi. This is primarily a game about storytelling. Combat is limited, but horror, drama and sometimes comedy are the primary vehicles for driving the game forward.
This game draws quite a bit from boardgaming elements, so I think this one is best played around a physical table, especially since it requires a custom deck of cards. You’ll use these cards to represent the demands of running a restaurant in the day, as well as fighting of a vampire at night. This game is probably on the borders of what I think is considered wuxia, but if you have a horror lover in your group, this might be worth checking out.
Exalted, by Onyx Path Games.
This is the tale of a forgotten age before the seas were bent, when the world was flat and floated atop a sea of chaos. This is the tale of a decadent empire raised up on the bones of the fallen Golden Age, whose splendor it faintly echoed but could not match. This is a tale of primal frontiers, of the restless dead, of jeweled cities ruled openly by spirits in defiance of Heaven’s law. This is a tale of glorious heroes blessed by the gods, and of their passions and the wars they waged in the final era of legends.
Exalted has a number of different sources, only one of which feels close to wuxia, but the stories are certainly expected to give you long, sweeping epics and larger-than-life characters. There are many different kinds of Exalted, including Solars, Lunars, and Dragon-Blooded. Since I’m not a wuxia connoisseur myself, I’m not entirely sure how close Exalted comes to hitting the mark - I’m mostly recommending it because it came up connected to some other wuxia fantasy games when I was doing some searching.
Jiang Hu, by wum1ng.
Jiang Hu is a role-playing game for the wuxia genre. Drawing inspiration from wuxia novels written by luminaries such as Jin Yong and Gu Long, the Feng Yun comics from Ma Rong Chen and the multitude of wuxia movies and television series, this game brings the world of dashing swordsmen, warrior monks, brawling beggars and high-flying stunts to your tabletop.
Players take on the role of Martial Artists fighting against various threats to the lands of Jiang Hu, ranging from evil sect leaders who have mastered forbidden secret martial arts techniques to megalomaniacs seeking to take over the Imperial Throne by force and the blood of countless innocents.
The Worlds Without Number series by Kevin Crawford has its praises sung by many people, especially folks in the OSR scene, and that is the bones that this game is built on. Your character is built from quite a list of skills, which are differentiated between Combat and Non-Combat. You also have a number of secondary attributes, for things such as Armour Class, Evasion, and Luck, as well as a dedicated space on your character sheet for weapons and martial arts. Expect combat to to take up a bulk of your time!
When you roll for your character background, you also get a significant life event that is expected to shape your character’s past, such as having a loved one murdered, or falling into serious debt. Out of all of the games listed here, I think this game is the closest to D&D, what with the “packages” of skills, items and abilities attached to each background.
The Oath, by brushmen.
"We seek not to be born on the same day, but hope to die on the same day." And with such an oath, Yong, Li, and Ming swore loyalty to each other.
When earthly desires tempt them, and devotions threaten to tear them apart, with or without a hand from uncaring fate…
will their oath endure?
The Oath is a collaborative storytelling game for one Game Moderator and three players.
This is meant to be a one-shot, which borrows the Entanglements system from Hearts of Wulin and the character Keys and Tags from Lady Blackbird. Since this game comes with characters already pre-written, it would probably be very good for groups who have very little time, or who want an easy on-ramp to games or the wuxia genre. I like the fact that the Keys give you prompts and directions for your character’s behaviour; it’s strong statement on how the author interprets the genre, but it still gives you, the player, a choice on what elements of your character will be emphasized, and what elements will take up the background.
brushmen also has another wuxia Lady Blackbird hack called The Escort, about recovering from a violent robbery, this one for four players and one GM.
Four Swords, by ehronlime.
This is a tabletop roleplaying game about being young heroes in a wuxia story, made for the #AsianMartialArtsJam.
You start with your First Sword, which you use to challenge other heroes and villains and strive for mastery.
You will then gain three more Swords: the Second a sword of great pride and regret, the Third a sword of mastery and expression, and the Fourth a sword which is no sword.
You will also struggle between the obligations put upon your by others and what you truly desire from the life of a wandering hero.
Four Swords really zeroes in on the combat mastery part of wuxia fantasy. Your characters will grow into mastery, and battle with rigid codes and rules that structure the world you live in. The game is very descriptive, leaving you with only 4 abilities that are meant to broadly encompass what you are able to do. The game encourages characters to interfere with each-other using a mechanic called Vows, and levelling up gives you access to different techniques, which reinforce the competence of your characters as well as the rigid guidelines by which they might improve.
This game was made for the Asian Martial Arts by Asian Creators Game Jam, so you might find some more wuxi-themed games there!
Blades of the Immortals, by Jagganoth.
Blades of the Immortals is a tabletop roleplaying game inspired by xiānxiá. It uses the Forged in the Dark rules engine developed by John Harper, as seen in games like Blades in the Dark and Beam Saber.
In Blades of the Immortals, you will take on the roles of cultivators, striving for your own ambitions, for the glory of your sect, and for the ultimate prize —  immortality. You'll viciously struggle for scarce resources, compete for the patronage of powerful and influential teachers, gather allies to your banner, and scheme against your enemies. Your cultivators will wield mystical treasures and supernatural spell-arts, mastering the very laws of the cosmos as their weapons, as they become entangled in centuries-long vendettas between deathless wizard-kings.
This game is solidly focused on supernatural abilities and grand increases in strength. You choose from one of 9 different playbooks, and collaboratively create a faction that binds you all together. The sources listed as inspirations for this game include (but are not limited to) Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, Forge of Destiny, Aspiring to the Immortal Path, and Journey to the West.
Compared to other Blades hacks, this game reduces the standard number of action ratings, ties character growth to a change in your character’s beliefs, and separates your gear from your playbook. Characters can also level up through Realms, which increases your effectiveness and upgrades your inventory.
Mist-Robed Gate, by Shreyas & Elizabeth Sampat.
There are some things that we value more than life.
There are things we're willing to scheme and cry and fight and die for.
That's what wuxia cinema is about— fighting and dying for the things we care about. That's what Mist-Robed Gate is about.
Mist-Robed Gate comes with a full list of movie recommendations, but includes Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and House of Flying Daggers as key influences. I really like the fact that a key mechanic of this game includes stabbing your character sheet with a knife.
Players create factions first, and then take turns creating characters that represent those factions, with elements that represent the hero’s distinctive personality and style. Players also create the different locations that will serve as the stage for your scenes. Play happens over a series of scenes, as their characters push and pull against each-other, sometimes even making terrible demands (which is where the Knife comes in). If you want a game that has a lot of politics in the terms of actions having large ramifications over big groups of people, and if you want a game that is extremely dramatic, you might want to check out Mist-Robed Gate.

The thing I like a lot about sidestep as a character concept is that in my eyes they feel like such a natural conclusion to the setting and the themes in fhr. Taking as examples for this post the body as a tool and the social performance to being human(don't know if i worded this right but bear with me).
Firstly, in the setting of fallen hero there seems to be a greater move towards the use of bodies as military tools, both through the hero drug and of course cybernetics. This is most reflected in steel and ortega. Where they both have had their bodies modded for of course their own well-being, but are also now contractually obligated to serve the military/government in exchange for these modifications. Especially with steel the knowledge that while the cybernetics improve his life and are of great benefit to him, he would probably not have received them or at least not of this quality if they did not also make him a great tool kinda looms over his character. However, with both ortega and steel there seems to be some pretense of care for or at least acknowledgement of the person that comes with this body. Which gives way to the natural progression of such setting, what if you can create a body just as a tool and not have to bother with the person behind it (and the accompying things such as bodily autonomy, personal rights, moral codes, identity, etc.). Which seems to me very much where the regenes come in. As far as sidestep knows (and as far as we as readers/players know) their body was created purely to serve as a tool, and any personality sidestep displays "a breach of protocol" ( I think the narrative explores how difficult/near impossible it is to just use a body as tool since to use a body means that there is always a person experiencing the world through that body and thus the body becomes something more than just a tool something something the puppet? but i'll probably only be able to be definitive on this after the series ends)
Second example is how fallen hero is, as mentioned by others, very concerned with, well, the social performance of being human. With how in order to be respected as a person and granted the privileges that come with being human one must adhere to social rules and codes in appearance, behaviour, and interaction with others (and if you're lacking in one category better make it up in others). This is i think very apparent in almost every major character in fallen hero. However their various hangups and struggles with how to present yourself to the world and others, and others expectations of them in turn are written realistically. In that they are born out of a lifetime, of having grown up and being taught the rules through experience and shame, and of course the implication that these rules are just what is naturally expected and never truly explicitly said outloud. The fun thing about sidestep and the cuckoo regenes is that this is all explicitly spelled out and taught, in order to be accepted and seen as human (and gain the privileges that come with being human) you need to behave and look like this. It is canon that Sidestep didn't have a childhood and i think heavily implied that the farm just gave the cuckoo regenes lessons on how to be a human being. It makes the implicit explicit.
There are a ton more themes in which sidestep as concept is just the implicit made explicit or like the natural conclusion to that theme (self-actualization probably being a big one). It makes the relationships (whatever form they may come) in fallen hero fun, because no matter what kind of person a specific sidestep is their concept as a character always kinda holds up a mirror to all the other characters in the story.

Cosmic Lovers 'Vishnu & Lakshmi' Talon Abraxas
The Symbolic Meaning of Lord Vishnu and Lakshmi
Lord Vishnu is Hindu Myth Hindu’s recognise Vishnu as the “protector.” He is the aspect of your personality that can dissolve the ego and uphold new Dharmas that enable you to develop peace of mind and bliss.
Ayurvedic teachings describe consciousness as being present. By taking control of emotions present in the five elements and the three gunas, you can take control of your life and master the energies of universal manifestation.
Vishnu is the higher consciousness that guides us and downloads messages that inform us what the right actions are to take. The problem most of us suffer is not knowing when we receive these messages because we are rooted in base consciousness.
Conscious comes to us as a thought, symbolised by Brahma in Hindu mythology. In the “Padma Purana”, Vishnu gives birth to Brahma who blossoms from the lotus flower that sprouts from Vishnu’s navel.
Brahma is said to be the creator of all things. He is the manifestation of ideas in the physical plane. The Lotus flower symbolises enlightenment, implying that consciousness passed to mortals is the Absolute Truth. The instructions to follow.
The Rig Veda states: “Vishnu is the most ancient of all, yet also the most recent. Nothing and no one creates Vishnu, yet Vishnu creates everyone and everything.”
In essence, the Supreme deity is a creative source but serves a greater purpose as the preserver. Escaping the bonds of the habitual mind is not easy and Vishnu has to keep a check that right actions are being followed.
It is said that Vishnu created the world with the right side of his body – that which is controlled by the left-side hemisphere of the brain. Although there are creative aspects in the right-side of the brain, it is widely accepted that most creative powers arise from the left side of the brain.
The right side of the brain is associated with collecting information and analysis. It’s the sensible part of the brain that talks us through what we should really do.
The Incarnations of Vishnu All matter is conscious which evolves. As Absolute conscious, Vishnu creates the world through Brahma, and Hindu mythology gives an account of the evolution of Earth in the incarnations of Vishnu.
According to legend, Vishnu has reincarnated nine times so far. They are:
Matsya, the fish Kurma, the Turtle (reptiles) Vahara, the pig (animal life) Narasimha, half man, half lion Vaman, the man-dwarf Parashuram the man with an axe Rama – moral man Krishna – philosophical man Buddha – enlightened man
As consciousness evolves in nature it consistently creates improved versions of itself. But Vishnu can only do this with the help of his wife Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity.
The Symbolic Meaning of Lakshmi Lakshmi emerged from the churning of the milky ocean on a lotus flower and subsequently incarnates amongst mankind in various forms. Described as ‘the mother of the world’ the goddess nurtures consciousness.
Lakshmi cleans Vishnu’s feet to show her nurturing nature. In chapter 8 of the Vishnu Purana says:
“Vishnu is meaning, she is speech; Hari is polity, she is prudence; Vishnu is understanding, she is intellect, he is righteousness, she is devotion.”
Lakshmi means ‘goals’ and as the goddess of wealth, beauty and love is said to reside in those that are prospering in life. In Hindu art she is always depicted sitting on a one hundred petal lotus indicated she is pure.
Together with Vishnu, Lakshmi is Absolute Consciousness, or The Truth.
Her four arms represent Dharma (doing the right thing), prosperity, perfection and freedom from mental and emotional bondages.
Other qualities of Lakshmi are portrayed through the elephants she is often pictured with. In Hindu esoteric symbolism, elephants represent strength, wisdom and patience, qualities needed to nurture.
The symbolic meaning of Hindu symbols In ancient myth and Hindu art, Vishnu carries symbolic objects in his four hands and lies on a bed of floating serpents. The serpents represent the wisdom and peace of a calm mind that is freed from anxious thought.
Vishnu’s other symbols are: Conch = vibrational frequencies and energetic forces that create and sustain all life in the universe. Scientifically speaking, Vishnu is the personification of the Conscious Universe.
Mace = the destructive nature of the god. It symbolizes the dissolution of ego and negative traits or even the destruction of the universe itself.
Bow or Lotus Flower = Both the lotus and the bow represent awakened consciousness that allows you to see beyond the veil of illusion.
Discus = The spinning discus symbolises Purity of mind and used by Vishnu to destroy demons.
The symbolic meaning of Vishnu and Lakshmi relates to the highest forms of human consciousness that we are aware of. Together they tell us what to do, and give us the ability to nurture Brahma into fruition.
Master Mind Content offers online symbolism courses. We have several in-depth guides that explain how symbolism relates to the body-mind-energy connection. Understanding symbolism can help you make important decisions, improve your quality of life and understand more about the world.

Hello! I have to confess to a sin - I caved in and made an account on a writing AI site to roleplay dialogues and stories with all sorts of characters. It's been very liberating to just bang out awful stories, and it inspired me to write a proper one by myself. I'm halfway through it now, and I haven't copied/pasted one word from that AI stuff (i couldn't even if i wanted to - the quality is that bad), but... it feels a little tainted, even though it's 100% mine. Do you think that's appropriate?
On Using AI for Brainstorming/Experimentation
I think I've mentioned before that I'm kind of an ostrich with my head in the sand when it comes to AI and its role in the world of writing and publishing. On the one hand, industry experts tend to look favorably upon AI as a tool to help writers in various ways. On the other hand, using AI to write any part of your story is unethical and comes with serious consequences if you're caught.
So, my feeling is that using AI to role play dialogue and create awful stories for fun probably falls into the realm of using AI as a tool to improve your writing--as long as you're not using any of that AI dialogue or AI writing in your story, which it sounds like you're not. Even if you use the AI generated dialogue as a guide for what characters might say, that's fine as long as you rewrite it in your own words. It's no different at that point than using dialogue from a TV show, movie, book, or real life as inspiration for character dialogue. But, just as you can't plagiarize the dialogue from a TV show, movie, or book, you can't use ethically use the exact dialogue generated by AI in your story.
As long as you didn't copy/paste, I don't think there's any reason to feel like it's tainted or inappropriate. :)

Hello lovely,
What are the pros and cons of pursuing a diagnosis?
I think I have autism (32 on the AQ, 139 on the CAT-Q, 157 on the RAADS-R, and 133 on the Aspie Quiz v5) but I'm a very high-masking gifted/honors/AP girl and I worry it will have more cons bc of poor societal acceptance then it will have pros : (
I mentioned my concerns to my primary care doctor and she really quickly dismissed them (I didn't mention the tests I did, just that I had a lot of traits/issues typical of autism) and I'm worried that trying to get help or anything will be a long hard uphill battle. Fortunately I am getting seen for sleep issues soon which are my worst problem but yeah
Thanks for your counsel
- 💙🌹
Hi there,
There are many pros and cons when it comes to getting an autism diagnosis. Here’s some from helpfulminds.co.uk
Advantages of Adult Autism Diagnosis:
1. Self-understanding and identity: Receiving an autism diagnosis as an adult can provide a profound sense of self-understanding. It validates personal experiences and challenges, helping individuals make sense of their differences. It offers a framework through which they can explore their unique strengths, interests, and areas of difficulty, leading to greater self-acceptance and personal growth.
2. Access to appropriate support and accommodations: An adult autism diagnosis opens doors to various resources and support services. It enables individuals to access specialised therapies, counselling, and tailored interventions. It may also qualify them for workplace accommodations, such as flexible schedules, task modifications, or a supportive work environment. These support systems can enhance well-being, foster independence, and improve overall quality of life.
3. Connection and community: Obtaining an autism diagnosis can provide a pathway to connecting with others who share similar experiences. Joining support groups, online communities or participating in autism advocacy networks can foster a sense of belonging and reduce feelings of isolation. These connections often offer invaluable emotional support, shared experiences, and practical advice.
4. Enhanced relationships and communication: Understanding one’s autistic traits can lead to improved personal and professional relationships. It helps individuals communicate their needs and preferences effectively, reducing misunderstandings and promoting better understanding among friends, family members, and colleagues. With increased self-awareness, individuals can build stronger connections and cultivate healthier interactions.
Disadvantages of Adult Autism Diagnosis:
1. Emotional impact: Receiving an autism diagnosis as an adult can trigger a range of emotions, including relief, validation, but also grief or regret. Some individuals may experience a sense of loss for the opportunities they feel they missed or the difficulties they faced due to a lack of understanding. The process can be emotionally challenging and require support to navigate.
2. Stigma and societal perceptions: Unfortunately, despite growing awareness, Autism is still surrounded by stigma and misconceptions. Disclosure of an adult autism diagnosis can lead to potential discrimination, prejudice, or social exclusion. Society’s limited understanding of Autism may hinder employment, education, or social integration opportunities. This lack of acceptance emphasises the need for broader awareness and education.
3. Limited diagnostic resources and accessibility: Obtaining an autism diagnosis as an adult can be challenging due to limited diagnostic resources and professionals specialising in adult assessments. Waiting times and financial constraints may present significant barriers for those seeking a diagnosis. This lack of accessibility may lead to delayed self-understanding and hinder access to vital support services.
Seeking an autism diagnosis as an adult has advantages and disadvantages. While the diagnosis can offer self-understanding, access to support, and a sense of community, it may also evoke complex emotions and expose individuals to societal stigma. It is important to weigh these factors and consider personal circumstances before pursuing a diagnosis. Regardless of whether one receives an official diagnosis, fostering acceptance and embracing neurodiversity can contribute to a more inclusive and understanding society.
The full article will be below. There are even more pros and cons, so those are just examples. I recommend researching for more to make up your mind.
I hope this helps. Thank you for the inbox. I hope you have a wonderful day/night. ♥️

A short interpretation of my solar return chart in 2023
Hi! It's my birthday today and the honor of that, I decided to make an interpretation of my solar return chart in 2023. Also, happy birthday to my birthday twins! 🥳
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Sun in the 7th house ⎯ My main focus this year will be relationships. Rather than putting the main focus on me, I should learn how to improve my skills in personal relationships. In this year I may form significant relationships that will be vital for my path.
The same may also go with my NN in the 11th house. I should put my focus on friendships, relationships or the various communities where I belong.
Sun sextile Jupiter ⎯ This year might be lucky one for me. I will be successful and it'll be seen by others (Jupiter in the 10th house). I might have success with my achievements (Jupiter in the 10th house) and/or in my relationships (Sun in the 7th house).
Moon conjunct Neptune ⎯ I might not recognize my feelings the same way as before or I become overly sensitive to my surroundings. My Moon is in Pisces (in solar return) + I have this aspect which may indicate having an urge to explore the unknown and the unconsious side of me.
Both they're in the 10th house. Also, I might not know my goals for the future. I may live in a dream world and don't feel aligned with my life purpose. Or with this aspect, I may be inspired by my goals and social status.
Jupiter + Neptune in 10th house ⎯ These success' during the year might make me kind of blind. I don't recognize my achievements or I end up magnifying them.
Stellium in the 10th house ⎯ My relationship with society might change during this year. The authority might play big role this year.
Ascendant in Leo & Descendant in Aquarius ⎯ This year I may come off as a confident, self-centred, humorous and more out-going. During the year, I will learn my importance and significance in this world. As a counterweight, I will attract people who are open-minded, curious, objective and unique in their own way.
My Sun is also descending and the people I will attract may have egoistic qualities to themselves.
Mercury and Pluto in the 6th house ⎯ This year might be stressful or I become stressed over the things more easily. This might become a problem and Pluto is here to make me realize that I need to give up my bad habits and routines which aren't serving me anymore.
I also have Pluto in the 6th house in my natal and it might be a serious thing to take a note of. I must work with Pluto during the year rather than working against its energy.
Saturn in the 8th house ⎯ I might not want to let go of the past or grow up. Also, it is in a Water house, so some karmic themes, concerning death, rebirth, taboos, taxes and depts etc. might arise. The first thing which came into my mind is that I might have to pay my debt(s) from past lives. I have to go with the flow to be able to truly live.
Venus conjuct Saturn ⎯ Those karmic themes might concern about relationships and love.
Mars at 9° degree and Venus in the 9th house ⎯ My Mars were in the 11th house, so this combination may indicate a need to be more spontaneus in relationships.
Mercury trine North Node ⎯ To be able to move toward and grow out from the past (SN), I must bring out my own truth. Honest communication is the key. I should express my opinions bravely and not be afraid of possible judge of others.
Overall, the coming year looks promising ! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Ways to appreciate yourself as a woman —
Stop trying to be everything to everyone, be yourself to those that matter. We often want to help as many as possible. Yet, if someone doesn't appreciate you stop letting them take you for granted.
Appreciate the gifts from your ancestors. It's a common theme that we women want the opposite of what we have. If you have curly hair, you want it straightened etc. Yet, our features are not only gifts from the creator but also features of our ancestry — embrace to appreciate.
Cultivate a sisterhood, be selective in your choices. Who we surround ourselves with matters, especially those we go to for help and to spend our time with. Choose women who are uplifting, honest, and secure within themselves.
Appreciate yourself now. Often we think that once we achieve that certain thing then we'll be worthy. Yet, once we do we likely find something else to be insecure about. Appreciate who you are now, be proud of how far you've come while eager to keep growing.
Challenge your limiting beliefs. Our beliefs are simply thoughts we keep thinking, and in most cases many have an unconscious loop of belittling beliefs running through their minds daily. Become more aware of your beliefs via. journalling & mindfulness, challenge & reframe them.
Start learning about the menstrual cycle, it's phases and how they can impact you mentally, physically and emotionally. We are cyclical beings, living in alignment with our cycle helps us better know ourselves.
Build a strong sense of self, unlearn who you think you are to learn who you truly are. Reflect on what elements of your personality are truly yours or those given to you by others. Remove the unwanted, maximise the real you.
Minimise low vibrational energy, including negative gossip about others, projecting your insecurities, cultivating drama and anything that leaves you feeing icky or less than. Replace with energy that builds both yourself and other, compliment others, let others inspire you, etc.
Cultivate more beauty in your life, whether it's fresh flowers in your home, adorning yourself with quality materials and jewels, taking pride in your appearance, spending time in nature, how you decorate your environment or books you read. Cultivate beauty, nourish your soul.
Be in your body more. Spend time becoming acquainted with your body whether by dancing around the house, take part in mindful exercises and working with practitioners who can help you find alignment with root cause treatments.
Take pride in your appearance, not in the sense of being immensely vain but to genuinely appreciate and cultivate acceptance and self love. One who takes pride in their appearance inherently takes pride in themselves.
Cultivate your character, do not assume your appearance is the most important thing about you - it's not. Be an interesting person, have hobbies, ensure you can converse with various people, be comfortable in yourself.
Trust your intuition, especially in uneasy circumstances and with people you're not sure about. You have an intuition for a reason, it can deduce more than your logical mind. Listen to it, trust it.
Love yourself unconditionally to genuinely appreciate yourself but not in a shallow sense where you don't take responsibility for yourself. Loving yourself requires you to realise both your strengths and the areas you wish to improve, and acting accordingly.
Set the standard, and realise that as you appreciate yourself you also shine a light to show other women that they can do so too — especially younger women and those that may be looking up to you.

Mental health diagnoses are capitalist constructs
“Mental and physical diagnoses aren’t objective facts that exist in nature, even though we usually think of them this way. While the experiences and phenomena that fall under different diagnostic categories are, of course, real, the way that we choose to categorise them is often influenced by systems of power. The difference between ‘health’ and ‘illness’, ‘order’ and ‘disorder’ is shaped by which kinds of bodies and minds are conducive to capitalism and the state. For example, the difference between ‘ordinary distress’ and ‘mental illness’ is often defined by its impact on your ability to work. The recent edition of the DSM, psychiatry’s comprehensive manual of ‘mental disorders’, mentions work almost 400 times – work is the central metric for diagnosis.
“When we look across history, it becomes even more obvious that diagnosis is tied to capitalist metrics of productivity: certain categories of illness have come in and out of existence as the conditions of production have changed. In the 19th century, the physician Samuel A. Cartwright proposed the diagnosis of ‘drapetomania’, which would describe enslaved Black people who fled from plantations. While we might think of drapetomania as a historical outlier among ‘true’ and ‘objective’ diagnoses, it is underpinned by the same logic as other diagnoses: it describes mental or physical attributes that make us less exploitable and profitable. In the 1920s, medical and psychological researchers became interested in a pathology called ‘accident-proneness’, which was applied to workers who were repeatedly injured in the brutal and dangerous factory conditions of the industrial revolution. Dyslexia, a diagnosis I have been given, also didn’t emerge until the market began to shift from manual labour towards jobs that relied on reading and writing, when all children were expected to be literate. Despite having problems with reading, I understand that in a world where reading and writing weren’t so central to our daily life, there would be no need to name my dyslexia, no need to diagnose it.
“As a system of state power, many of us rely on diagnosis to get the material things that we need to survive in the world. When illness or disability interferes with our ability to work, we often need a diagnosis to justify our lack of productivity – and for some, diagnosis is the necessary pathway to getting state benefits. If we want to get access to medication, treatment or other healing practices provided by the state, diagnosis is also the token that we need to get there. This is made all the more complicated by the fact that doctors have the power to dispense and withhold diagnoses, regardless of our personal desires. When it comes to psychiatric diagnosis, most of us know someone who has had to fight or wait for years for a diagnosis that would improve their quality of life – particularly in the realm of autism, ADHD and eating disorders. The internalised racism, sexism, classism or ableism of doctors often gets in the way of our ability to access the diagnoses that we want and need. Then there are those of us that are given diagnoses that we reject, a process that we also have no say in ...
“When we understand that psychiatric diagnoses are constructed, contested, and aren’t grounded in biological measures, the idea of ‘self-diagnosis’ starts to feel less dangerous or controversial. Self-diagnosis is grounded in the idea that, while the institution of medicine may hold useful technologies and expertise, we also hold valuable knowledge about our bodies and minds. I know many people who have found solace and respite in communities for various diagnoses, even if they don’t have an official diagnosis from a doctor. These spaces, which respect the wisdom offered by lived experience, can be valuable forums of knowledge-sharing and solidarity. Self-diagnosis also pushes against an oppressive diagnostic system that is so centred around notions of productivity.”

Undead Unluck as an allegory for disability
I can’t say for sure if it was intentional on Tozuka’s part, but much like Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot coincidentally being readable as a trans character, the lives of the various Negators have a lot of opportunities for parallels with disability
Of course we have the obvious ones where the characters are literally disabled; Billy is blind, Juiz loses a hand and uses a prosthetic, Rip has prosthetic legs, an arm, and a false eye, and as we recently learned, Phil has an entirely prosthetic body save for his brain. Phil’s case is definitely exaggerated as that’s not medically possible yet, but having an illness at age 3 that causes the body to cease functioning properly is definitely something that can unfortunately feasibly happen
Then there are the characters whose disabilities come from their Negator abilities: again, Phil’s Unfeel makes him unable to feel emotions or physical sensations; Tella’s Untell makes him mute; Tatiana literally lives in a bubble, preventing her from having contact with others as if she were immunocompromised; Ichico’s Unsleep is an exaggerated form of insomnia; Nico’s Unforgettable at first seems to be eidetic memory, but when you consider that it degrades his memories from prior to gaining Unforgettable, it starts to resemble Alzheimer’s; deactivating Unstoppable requires Top break a bone, resulting in him wearing a cast at all times, which indirectly makes him an allegory for osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease)
Fuuko herself refers to her Unluck as a disease in the beginning of the story; sure, she was lying to make the concept easier for normal people to understand, but the fact that she can’t make physical contact with others without killing them, necessitating that she isolate herself for however many years, certainly does bring to mind several diseases
Andy’s sense of pain is described as radio static, which is similar to how it’s described by people with chronic pain. Even Andy’s inability to die can be viewed as a disability in and of itself; his ability to die was literally disabled by God. In fact, Negator abilities, being powers defined by a lack or erasure of a target concept, are all semantically disabilities
Appropriate, then, that the Negator power system is not about overcoming or simply getting rid of the Negator abilities, but working with and navigating through them to improve one’s quality of life. Through their own mental fortitude and personal perspectives, every Negator found the will to live and the ability to turn their disabilities into strengths
It reminds me of the early responses to Yuki Yuna is a Hero, where fans were excited that the girl in the wheelchair wasn’t suddenly able to walk when she was in magical girl form, but instead her magical girl uniform had supports that allowed her to stay upright and moved for her. I’m not going to discuss the greater implications of disability in Yuki Yuna here, only that its power system heavily focuses on providing support for the cast’s disabilities. In a similar vain, Undead Unluck’s story does not in any way imply that the disabilities of the cast make them any lesser or incapable of living well, but instead demonstrates that there’s no shame in relying on others or using assistive devices
Of course the metaphor breaks down a little when you remember that the goal is to defeat the God that disabled the cast so that they will regain their able bodies, which I think reinforces the idea that this was likely unintentional, but I do think that a disabled reader could identify with and take inspiration from Undead Unluck in the same way that they could from something like FMA where a high proportion of the cast have prosthetics
In fact, aside from FMA, I can’t think of another manga that has such a high count of disabled characters. I’m sure there are plenty, but I really can’t think of any off the top of my head. Either way, I’m glad to see a Jump title that can potentially serve as representation for the disabled community, and this is just another reason that UU is absolutely worth checking out

Digital Monster: D-Project - Final Thoughts
Some quick stats:
This is my 13th Digimon game completed in less than 2 years, yay me!
This game took me 10 days to play. Love me a game that doesn't overstay its welcome.
This game was fantastic! It was probably most similar to the first Digimon World gameplay-wise, but waaay less convoluted and a lot cuter. Unlike in DW I had no problem getting the digivolutions I wanted and progressing through the game at a comfortable pace. There were a few "guide dang it!" moments here and there, but the game is mostly reasonable about hinting at what you're supposed to be doing. Full thoughts below.
Notes:
I loved the meta premise of this game. Basically when you boot it up, DemiDevimon comes along and "corrupts your game file." You then get sucked into the game world, "Swan World" (geddit, cuz Wonderswan?) The rest of the game is dedicated to restoring your corrupted surroundings and returning evil digimon to their nice forms. Very satisfying.
The v-pet aspect of the game was fun. The controls for calling/releasing your digimon were very intuitive. I liked how I could release them in various places like I was putting them out to pasture. The only really annoying thing was keeping the digimon fed because you had to input 4 digits to get one meat over and over and over again.
Of course I just used a guide to figure out the right codes, but the "enter a code and get a mystery digiegg" gimmick was cute. I really liked the animation of the egg slowly generating. It was a little weird because what digiegg you started with didn't matter much in the end, but oh well.
For some reason you have the ability to praise and scold your digimon? I understand praising because maybe it raises their happiness (I never actually checked), but there is no advantage to scolding in this game as far as I could tell.
Instead of the DW1 digivolution mechanic where you need a PHD in digivolving to get the right digimon, you just raise them in a certain environment to get the desired outcome. SO much easier. I liked that I could switch from line to line going from rookie to champion to make the game go quicker.
Except for the crazy last boss, it sort of felt like the difficulty level remained the same throughout the whole game. I brought a rookie into many battles, for example, and ended up being fine.
Omg the sprites in this game are so good!! Battling was so fun to watch (you can button mash to improve accuracy, but you don't really participate). Some kind soul uploaded all the sprites for download. I thought the Kyubimon victory animation was really funny:
Tumblr media
Once I discovered jogress/DNA evolution I was like HELL YEAH 🔥🔥🔥 cuz the animation was so badass and took up like half the screen (wish I got more screenshots). There was also a really satisfying "BOOM!" sound effect during digivolution.
Lots of colorful, fun environments (especially compared to the last game which was blah). Another quality of life complaint is you have to go all the way to the start of the map every time you need food. There should have been more shortcuts to get from place to place.
I was actually kind of grateful that digimon die in this game. They have a pretty long lifespan, which is nice, but sometimes you need to clear up storage in your PC or you want the chance to raise a different type, so mons dying wasn't as soul crushing as in previous games.
If you can't read Japanese, I think I'd still recommend this game. The visuals and gameplay are enough to carry it and the controls/menus are pretty simple.
I give Digital Monster: D-Project an 8 out of 10

Note
hi there! im sure with the advent of a trigun rerelease upon us you've gotten a lot of asks about this over the past couple of days, but in the case you haven't been asked that: do you still plan to move forward with overhaul 2.0 even with the news of a reprint? i ask this with no disrespect or hopes that you do cease work on it, but im interested in hearing your thoughts and feelings about how to proceed.
as well, I'm curious to hear your take on this, do you believe dark horse will redo the translation? or simply edit it? i haven't read much dark horse manga so im not sure historically how they would handle a reprint for a manga that has been out of print for so long, especially since, imo, at this point they would have to meet or exceed your excellent translation. similar to how official video game rereleases at the bare minimum have to meet the current emulation standard- if that makes sense.
btw i just want to say thank you for your in depth and explanatory answers to the many questions you get regarding translation nuances and the work that goes into cleaning and typesetting from scratch and the logic behind your choices. i speak the language but still love hearing the thought process other translators go through when they make certain decisions. it's awesome how much passion you have for trigun and this project as well as helping people to understand choices in the original text and how you translated them for your text.
Hey there and thank you for your question!
We have not been asked specifically about this yet, so your question is very welcome.
We fully intend to continue with Overhaul 2.0, even in light of a Trigun Deluxe release, which the team is ecstatic about, by the way. The need for a digital version for people to read on their computers, phones and other devices remains, and the quality of life that comes with it. Larger pages, the ability to zoom in, very crisp black and white differences, all of these factors can be helpful for people who might find reading difficult due to various health or mental health conditions.
On top of that, it will be free for those who are not fortunate enough to be able to buy expensive Deluxe releases, or the very expensive regular releases, for that matter. We always encourage people to eventually find a way to support the original creator, which is why we suggest buying the digital version of the manga on Dark Horse Comic's own website and not buy second hand books. But until that is economically responsible for people to buy, we offer them a chance to read an accurate translation online in the meantime.
Personally, I doubt they will redo the translation, as the translation for the Berserk Deluxe release remained the same. I don't know if the translation was changed for the Deluxe Hellsing release, but given the trend with their first Deluxe release, I also doubt it.
Of course, they could have changed their procedures for these releases over time and decided some lines or words needed to be changed, however it remains to be seen. Were they to update the translation, we would be very interested in reading it to see the differences, and then determine if it has improved.
Not one wishing to question other industry professionals when it comes to translation, I must still say that Dark Horse comics has repeatedly proven to engage in assembly line translation. Each translation isn't deeply studied, engaged with or understood by the translators, and the work is passed to several individuals with no communication, as is evident by the changing translation of names and words. They do not have the time or means to study the text they are translating, and therefore will ultimately always release a somewhat clumsy but passable script.
None of the translators are incompetent, that is clear, they are instead bound by their workspace regulations to follow the set procedure within the company. You can draw comparisons between the translation industry and production industry; we have the perfect-every-time, cookie-cutter, assembly line product that will do its job but only that, and then the handmade, personalized and polished to the tiniest detail product. Of course, handmade products can come with imperfections caused by the work being done by hand, but that either adds character or can be corrected through recipient engagement.
Thank you so much for your kind words, though. We try our best to be as informative and transparent as we can about our project, while also spacing out information and avoiding to repeat ourselves too much. It is interesting to write about our process too, as it does put the work we do into perspective, even helping with reflection upon how we do it and how we might improve.
So everyone is free to ask about our team, our process or anything that might interest you, and I'll answer to the best of my abilities!

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers.
I was tagged by @chrysalizzm
hello i am not late to this. absolutely not. i would never.
in no particular order:
in the wild all lessons last (46,965 words). while this list isn't in order, i do recommend reading this first since many of my other fics are just a variation of this plotline. c!doomsdaytrio, post-prison healing arc for dream featuring a plotline specifically crafted to appeal to dream's sense of logic and convince him to stay in the arctic. techno assigns a dog named em to dream's side to watch him 24/7. major caretaker c!philza vibes. semi-realistic medical analysis.
the trees deny themselves nothing (24,236 words). this is one of them that's a remake of itwall. same timeline, but cdream lost a leg in prison and made a shitty wooden prosthetic for himself. in an attempt to improve his quality of life, c!philza elects the help of c!sam, local redstone expert. same cozy itwall vibes but with the addition of fucked up awesamdream dynamics.
immortal (series of drabbles). legitimately one of my favorite things i've ever written. a look at c!philza's various skills and the people in his past who he learned them from. as part of an ask game, i also wrote short drabbles expanding on each of the minor characters.
pandora's vault prisoner symptoms (11,556 words). it's just so ME, you know? a series of drabbles, each of them expounding on a "symptom" that techno and dream would realistically feel after spending months in the torture box. all take place while techno is in the prison. lots of sappy rivals moments, mutual care for each other as they go through the Horrors together.
parallels and repeats (series of drabbles). a messy collection of drabbles illustrating a keystone headcanon of mine for c!doomsdaytrio: phil is 10k is years old, techno is 500 years old, dream is never over 25. the tag also includes works from other people inspired by that headcanon. this comic by @justcallme-ange comes to mind, and this fic by @somanywips.
tagging @maybe0rdinary and anyone else who wants to join in, including the two i tagged above lol. i'm so late that i'm not sure who's done it already .....
