"Not going well" aka the story of Marc's life, really.

Obviously the preview doesn't really give away much of anything, other than a promise that Marc's going to be spending time crawling around on the floor, very bloody. A+ decision, Mackay and team. Give the people what they want!

(I ended up on Cappuccio's Insta and I was reminded just how many commissions he's had to MK + bloody. MK fandom is evidently united in really wanting to see Marc (specifically, apparently) a little bit filthy.)

Other thoughts: I do like the fact that over the years of the comics, Marc has very much been established as someone that's either spot-on with judging someone's character, or really, really shitty at it. It ties in so very nicely with his ability to make the absolute worst of decisions.

Kind of curious that, if Plesko's calling Marc a bloody-minded, unkillable creature (oooh, I wonder how that's going to tie in with Vengeance of the Moon Knight 2.0!), what Plesko would have made of Bushman. Obviously the inference is that Plesko never met or worked with Bushman, but potentially Plesko also found Marc more interesting in comparison because he does have more humanity and compassion to him than Bushman ever has — the same softness that Bushman commented (derogatory) on would, potentially to someone like Plesko, be more interesting to unravel in relation to the ability to commit awful atrocities than Raoul's relatively simple desire to be feared.

Asking for Input

Okay, so I have a little creative dilemma. I read through “Mother’s Little Helper” (7x07) and found that it’s completely incompatible with the direction Those ‘70s Comics has taken the characters. The episode is almost all filler, wrought with sexism, and portrays Red and Kitty in total opposition to how they’re depicted in S1-S4 and Those ‘70s Comics.

So do I skip the episode and move onto “Angie’ (7x08) because nothing story- or character-wise would be lost. (This is the easier option for me and probably better for the comics’ overall storytelling.)

Or do I attempt to take some elements from “Mother’s Little Helper” and write a totally new episode from essentially scratch (that, of course, continues the comics’ character-and-story development)?

I’ll ultimately make my own decision, but I’m basically asking, would you care if I skip “Mother’s Little Helper” in the comics? Or do you want me try to incorporate it into the series?

Clark sat in silence in the batcave, Conner standing to his left, his eyes wide as he stared at you, possessing some features belonging to both he and Bruce, and other features that seemed to be entirely your own.

You stared back, that same stoic nature radiating off of you that radiates off the Batman, however, he noted the defensive look in your eyes, one so similar to the one he saw in Conner when he first met him. He eyed your suit, noting the familiar “S” symbol, only it was a burgundy color, a combination of the Batman and Superman emblems, and he was utterly confused.

He looked over at Bruce, still in his bat suit, his cowl pulled off, “Bruce, what the hell is going on?” 

“I had to call you here because Luthor decided to create another clone. I did the DNA test, Clark, she’s a combination of both our DNA” Bruce looked at him, Dick and Damian standing to his right. It was silent for a moment, you felt like a guinea pig, the way they all stared at you. It made you angry. 

Conner was the first to speak to you, stepping forward before opening his mouth, choosing his words carefully, “What’s your name?” 

You responded immediately, it felt automatic. “Experiment attempt number one. Code G6B24. I was made to be the future killer of the Batman and the Kryptonian.”

He's been shaking him this whole time. #LWJ has also been shaking. Like a nervous little dog. #What else is he to do when the love of his life collapses in front of him? #I also like to imagine that going through the nightmarish empathy showed on wwx's real body too. As in - he was thrashing about. #I am fond of my headcanon that wwx kicks and yells in his sleep and lwj is just getting a preview of it. #And oh my god. Am I ever a fan of accidental bonks (in fiction. I feel immense guilt for them in reality) #I'm really excited for several comics coming up. Just finished writing the comics for “Rip This Joint” (7x06). It has the most comics I’ve ever written for an episode: 106, and some of those are certain to be split into two comics as I get to the drawing phase. 

So that episode, which takes place around twenty-four hours on the show will take seven months to play out in the comics. 😂

(To be fair, though, I added another day to the episode. Still, forty-eight hours lasts seven months in Point Place because of Point Place Time™.)

Now onto writing comics for “Mother’s Little Helper” (7x07). I have no idea what’s going to happen here. *lmao*

(Oh, to be back in the days where I wrote and drew only one or two comics per episode ... which eventually became thirty when the comics changed from full-on satire to a series of graphic novels with satirical elements ... which eventually became sixty because I went deeper with the characters and stories... which is now a hundred-plus because I’ve lost control of my imagination I’m writing so much new, original material.)
