September 1…..we left Commarin after touring the local chateau. The place where we ate last night(duck in a jar) was on the grounds of this chateau and we were served by the current owner. It’s been in his family for 600 years!! I didn’t take any pics, sorry. Then we drove to Norway. This is one of the most charming towns visually.

Quelques précisions : Henri Vincenot (1912-1985) est un écrivain, peinte et sculpteur français. Son œuvre est profondément marquée par une redécouverte des racines de la culture bourguignonne, dont il défend la part rurale, sans oublier toutefois des aspects plus urbains, y compris liés au train, ayant grandi dans une famille de cheminots. L'un de ses romans, Les Chevaliers du chaudron, est également adapté en une courte série télévisée, La Princesse du rail. Parallèlement, il consacre une grande partie de sa vie à la restauration d'un petit hameau du village de Commarin, où il a grandi. Il meurt des suites d'un cancer du poumon.
