Good question, daaamn!

Uhh so yk as I was thinking what title to pick for my fic even before posting it, I immediately thought 'Metamorphosis' – since we all know that novel is featured and hinted at indirectly throughout the canon series.

But then I saw that there were at least 2 fics in the Strangers From Hell fandom on ao3 with that title, and a whopping 1229 fics on ao3 in total with that name, wow! Yeah, hell no am I joining that statistic lol

So I thought deeper into the idea of my own fic and into the Reader in it:

'Minus' simply and directly means 'lacking'. And what does 'elytra' mean?

"Elytra (singular: elytron) are the tough forewings of beetles."

The theme of beetles comes from Metamorphosis by Kafka, yeya. But how about a beetle with no wings, or no prospect of ever owning wings...? Such as our Reader who's paralysed, damaged, and can never "fly"?

So the implication (with me trying to not spoil the plot any more than I already have) is that she doesn't have wings or any possibility of them...
