i still can’t believe community basically completely forgot about britta in the last episode of the series. like i can’t even say i hated the ending they gave her because they didn’t even bother giving her one. they wrote in a random FBI internship for Annie and a job on a tv show for Abed in the literal last episode, you’re telling me they couldn’t have done the same for Britta? It could’ve been so easy for them to have the Dean say something like “oh by the way Britta, Professor Duncan wanted to see you about a potential job offer at Greendale”, who cares if it sounds unrealistic 😭 it would’ve also made Jeff’s ending seem a bit more optimistic while we’re at it. have jeff and britta celebrate the fact that they’re gonna be coworkers, throw in a “who would’ve thought?” from jeff, and boom now there’s a full circle moment for the show (started with jeff/britta, ended with jeff/britta) + a satisfying ending for the characters because it’s just bizarre that there was not a single genuine moment between those two in the last episode considering they were the last two study group members left

what are your least favorite episodes of community?

obviously most of s4 and s1 are on top of this list so these are just the ones i can think off offhand

pascal’s triangle revisited - sorry i CAN’T deal with the britta/jeff a-plot even though i understand it’s all about exaggerating heterosexuality to a satirical degree. i also find both annie and troy’s stories really sad; annie nearly goes full rebecca bunch and moves for vaughn and no one stops her and tells her she’s gay, while troy causes a fight with abed because he doesn’t think abed loves him back. it’s hard to watch!!! oh also the use of the t word to describe the dance is literally not even a joke or funny in any way which is incredibly annoying as the show is usually better than just shock value words for “‘humor”

conventions of space and time - this is definitely the worst episode of the show on paper because the s4 writers HATED abed and tried to write an episode about abed with disastrous results. they misunderstood abed’s motivations as well as where he and troy stand with regard to their roles in their relationship and it’s literally a different show altogether. meanwhile, annie’s plot is painfully regressive and makes me want to club someone with a bat. s4 writers die bitch

heroic origins - this is just way too far over the edge of what can be considered realistic and it is also not remotely in line with the purpose of the show. community is about a bunch of misfits who never should have met but they did and they love and depend on each other! why do we need to see them all coming together and suspend disbelief in order to do so? it’s bad. also costuming britta perry in purple hair with a nose ring is offensive to lesbians

alternative history of the german invasion - i think nick kroll declined to come back for this sequel episode because it was so incoherent and antisemitic. i made that up obviously but it’s probably true because i said so

history 101 - i left a family dinner in order to watch this episode live and could not have been more insulted by the content. the writers clearly decided to base their portrayal of abed on sheldon at some point in planning this season and they overcame having to do any research (because who would want to do that) by simply not giving him any lines and pretending that it is at all realistic for him to sit, catatonic, and not participate in anything. meanwhile, troy goes on a date and screams at britta that everything they do together has to be guided by abed’s sense of whimsy? is that a fucking joke? abed is not king of whimsy in their relationship - troy is - and troy would never leave abed while he was hurting. fuck you!!!

gi jeff - want to know a secret? i saw all of community in order like a normal person but skipped this episode entirely and only watched it, like, sometime in 2016. the art style is gross and i’m also an adult lesbian who doesn’t need to watch animated man pain in what may have been a backdoor pilot for rick and morty. thanks but no thanks! it was a bad episode and i usually prefer to forget it exists

basic intergluteal numismatics - if i ever have the chance to scream in dan harmon’s face it will be for a lot of reasons but this is the reason i will cite to him as i’m screaming. he had donald for five more episodes and he used this??? really???
