A list of reasons for your character to not murder someone rated against how compelling I find them - an incomplete list
1. "Murder is bad" OK but be consistent otherwise this is going to get annoying fast 5/10 for passing baseline ethics
2. "if I kill I'll be as bad as them" 0-5/10 with zero for people who are serial killers/mass murderers and 5 for idk someone who has killed in the past but it wasn't personal to the character. -100 for the murder actively preventing a lot more murder. -2000/10 for anyone trying to blow up the planet or kill the universe or otherwise cause an extinction event come on who are you kidding here
3. "I don't want to go to prison" 6/10 for needing a pragmatic argument instead of an ethical one
4. "if I kill I'll be crossing a moral event horizon and I don't want to do that to myself" 7/10 for self awareness
5. "I don't want to perpetuate the cycle of violence" 7.5/10 for self awareness plus pattern recognition and desire for active harm reduction
6. "I believe in due process/human rights for legal representation" 7.5/10, 8/10 if they're from an organisation that likes to shoot first and ask questions never, 9/10 if there has been evidence in story that corruption is rife
7. "I don't want to get their blood on these shoes" 8.5/10 ah a non violent psychopath that could go somewhere maybe
8. "I want them to live with what they've wrought" 9/10 coldest revenge served
9. "I want them to live to see me living my best life, and themselves becoming irrelevant" 10/10 best revenge is living well
10. "Who's that?" 13/10 perfection especially if they have declared themselves your nemesis

Just stopping by to tell you that I discovered the game Horizon through your blog
kisses
@stars-chan Aw, that's amazing! I'm so glad I got someone to play it and you like it!! 😊 It's such a fantastic game with so much creativity and devotion behind it. It's my favorite game (though it's tied with The World Ends With You... I literally can't pick between them lol) and I can't wait to get back to playing Horizon Forbidden West! Thanks for sharing this with me!! 🥰

I think I've realized why so many characters tend to be white. White can represent a blank slate a blank canvas, so to say it's easier to start painting on a canvas that isn't painted than one that is already painted. It's extremely difficult to master some people to the point that you can make a character of color.
If you make a character of color without mastering how to properly make a character, you can get an uncompelling character, tho it doesn't mean that you can't write an uncompelling white character as well ,I think this is why there are so many good compelling white characters In media and not so many character of color everyone had to start somewhere.

Why anyone would suggest Louie is boring is beyond me, yet I found someone like that recently. When I came to after blacking out from the strangeness of that notion, this 35-and-a-half minute monster of a video manifested in my projects folder. What a coincidence!
I mean. You don't have to LIKE Louie. (I love Louie and won't pretend I don't, but I understand why some people want to gnaw him.) But... uninteresting?? When there are so many little details that can spark intrigue into his character???
Man. Some people are wild.

About Antiphon: Fire and Stone
Antiphon: Fire and Stone is a fantasy novel I recently published. I’m quickly learning that writing the story was the fun part. Promoting it has been much less fun. Nevertheless, it’s a work that I’m proud of. Recently updated cover art for Antiphon: Fire and Stone featuring Kord Maratha It is set in the world of Irden, a world in a state of transition. While medieval fantasy is still…

(F): Memory Sovereign
A story of a town where memories vanish and a writer becomes key as love, mystery, and a world forgotten, waiting to be remembered through him.
The publisher called on Tuesday. They wanted me to come to their office to discuss something about the book. I said it was not necessary. But they insisted. I was busy the entire week. I said I could make it on Saturday. They asked me to make it on Sunday then. I asked Riya if she would come along. She was the last person to care (or know) about books or the publishing industry in general. But I…

really i think one of my favorite character dynamics is “i don’t actually like you but we’ve been through so much together that i’d trust you with my life and know that we will always back each others calls. but i still wouldn’t trust you with my car keys.” like “we aren’t really friends but we’ve been thrust into an intense situation where you are the only other person i know so now we’re besties.” and “if it weren’t for our years of history i would have literally nothing to talk to you about at this work dinner.” Enemies to lovers has NOTHING on general disinterest to begrudging acknowledgment to discovering that this person is now an inextricable part of your life

I love you mean girls in literature, I love you manipulative and scheming elder sisters of the protagonists, I love you ambitious women washing damned spots from bloody hands, I love you “she was always the perfect/favorite child,” I love you Emma Woodhouses and Caroline Bingleys, I love you mean girls with complex and morally questionable but ultimately understandable motivations, I love you mean girls they called evil and never bothered to explain at all, I love you mean girls who are not even girls, I love you queen bees, bullies, cheerleading captains, and heads of the school play in teen flicks, I love you weapons of war and calculating politicians and manipulators of royal court, I love you sirens and succubi and vampiresses, I love you changed by the end, I love you still the same bitch as before-
