Gonna start treating myself as a DND character for self care purposes
Class: Sorcerer: I was blessed with powers I have no ability to control (I’m a neurodivergent artist; I don’t get to control when the creative urge hits me)
Only so many spell slots to achieve things in one 24 hour period or I’m burnt out for the day and need a long rest
Also, take 2 short rests per day (thanks BG3)
Carry a components pouch (important stuff for daily survival)
Arcane focus but it’s a stim toy or jewellery
Spellbook but it’s a sketchbook

Thought it’d be funny to do a lunar magic sorcerer who is also a werewolf as a joke for a one shot but now I’m really invested. She’s part of a sect of werewolves that use magic fey tattoos to control their lycanthropy.
Details because I overdid this considering what it’s for:

I've always had a question abt YJDW. When Danny gets his hazmat suit replaced and updated with an actual superhero suit does it appear when he transforms or is it something that he has to put on afterward? I love your work btw
(Young Justice: Deathly Weapons)
Thank you! 💜
The idea I had with it was for Batman to have studied Phantom's OG suit (plus the Fentonworks research he brought along) and developed a material-variant that integrated with his ecto-signature.
Partially so that it would "stick" to Danny's ghost-form and transform with him, partially so that it would react to and not interfere with his powers, and partially so that the ecto-dampening component of the built-in stealth-tech would mask his signature and prevent tracking when activated.
I also did a rough concept sketch of the design a few years back.
Chapter 16 was one of those ones that went through a lot of drafts. The early versions had much longer sections about the functionality, performance requirements and design process that Batman and Robin went through in making the new suit, and how Danny had to hang out for several days in Phantom form just wearing it until synced to him properly.
But, as I went back through, a lot of that detail ended trimmed down to keep the opening from taking a needlessly technical exposition-dump at the expense of the pacing, characters and information that was actually important to the story.
In the final cut I think it ended up just being lightly alluded to in this line:
Even with non-stop wear it could take weeks before a uniform felt truly comfortable.
So yeah, the idea was that the new suit behaves effectively the same as the old one in most ways (minus any self-repairing features). It's meant to stay with his ghost form across transformations unless he actively takes it off, in which case it'll stay off (and he'll have to find alternative clothes in Phantom form) until he puts it back on again.

Me, too many projects? Nah
Anyways, before the new year I drew a concept for a utility belt I wanted to make out of an army coat, and today I've pinned together all the components. Already had the wallet looking thingie and the lighter fabric pouch with the thigh strap.

Pouches - Who's to blame (Not entirely serious)
Now, we remember that the king of the super pouches is Cable, and for good reason... Since his intro in 1990 he has tended to be more than slightly... pouch intensive
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This isn't even a spoof cover, it's an accurate representation of his costume at the time.
But did he START the trend?
I think not.
Leaving aside Batman from the 1966 series, who had hefty pouches in his belt...
Tumblr media
Though still not remotely large enough for some of the stuff he randomly produced from it, even if it DOES fold up... sort of.
Tumblr media
But I digress....
I did consider the Silver Age bat villain Cluemaster
Tumblr media
But those are specifically "plastic-glass pellets" containing assorted chemical weapons, like explosives, gas, acids and the like, so not sure they count.
It's been suggested that one of the first in the modern era to develop this was Longshot in 1986, when he did indeed have pouches on his belt, because artist Art Adams thought he needed practically-sized pouches to carry things in.
Tumblr media
But even then are there MANY pouches? His bandolier was to store his throwing knives for easy access, so weren't pouches per se.
So technically, the first X-Men character to really lay into the pouches side of things isn't Cable, not by a long shot... it's this guy, slightly later in 1986
Tumblr media
So Doug Ramsey was leading the field of poucher-y in the X-Verse side of things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just look at that vest and belt, LOADED and lined with pouches, and we never even find out what's in them... Though I think it would include pens, pencils, notepaper, some money, spare keys to the Xavier school, first-aid kit, lock picks (because he's always wanted to carry lockpicks), string (Everyone should carry string), breath mints and other things a relatively sensible teenager would want to be sure he was carrying if he had the room in his outfit and wasn't given to cargo shorts!
And yet, there are other contenders, so let's work backwards...
Also from 1986, Batman (again) from "The Dark Knight Returns" where even his BELT looks to be on a course of serious steroids!
Tumblr media
And in 1983 we got this stylish new costume retconned into the history of the Golden Age Tarantula in All-Star Squadron who, up until this point, wore a purple and yellow spandex outfit that was, oncufsingly, identical to the Golden Age Sandman's spandex costume outfit.
Tumblr media
Notice that he has rings of pouches on both boots, where he keeps things like spare cash in case he needs to hire a taxi and probably some spare ammo for his wirepoon gun.
But I think I've found patient zero as, from 1981's New Teen Titans #3. we have the inventor and technologist par excellence, the man who would be known (Eventually) as Mikron O'Geneus, though he would, perhaps thankfully, becomes better known by his codename:
GIZMO!
Tumblr media
Look, even his LOGO has pouches!
In fairness, given his speciality is creating techno-widgets and devices out of other technology, him carrying dozens of gadgets and components makes a lot of sense, to the extent that he even manages to carry MORE weapons than Robin's utility belt (Which is TARDIS like in and of itself)!
Tumblr media
So I think we have a winner!
Gizmo started the modern pouch trend!
If anyone can find earlier/other contenders, then please feel free to add them!

Feel like the most hyper specific pet peeve I have about out right disdain for the rules dnd comedy podcasts is the material components strawman that people who care about the rules would complain about a lack of them
When it's in the rules that with a focus or pouch (which every caster starts with) you don't need to track them and they aren't consumed, the only ones that matter are ones with prices that balance powerful things like revival
No one who cares about the rules is going to complain they aren't using the little flavour components but man does every single podcast in that genre go like 'take that crunchy people we aren't using them'

This is foolish. Essek took a deep breath in and out through his nose to calm his nerves, making sure to keep his face calm. Foolish, foolish, foolish.
A thunderous explosion shook the stone streets, and Essek's hand was at the components pouch at his waist, fast as light, as . . .
Another volley of fireworks lit up the Hupperdook sky and a jubilant roar went up among the townsfolk milling about in the street. Vendors selling silk flowers, colorful banners on sticks, firecrackers, street food, and beer shouted their wares as they moved through the crowd. A crowd that Essek, clad in a paper-thin illusion, stood largely head and shoulders above. A Kryn man walking through the heart of Dwendalian industry. Foolish.
Foolish... and a little thrilling, knowing, as he did, that the prize of a warm welcome and an evening with friends awaited him at the end of this foolish, foolish gauntlet.
At last, he located his destination and pulled open the door to be met with a rush of warmth and noise. It was, if possible, louder inside the tavern than outside. There were musicians playing a lively tune in the far back. It was a popular tune apparently, judging by the sheer number of patrons turning merrily in the center of the dance floor, and there in the middle of them, sticking out like two bright planets in a sky full of stars, was Caleb and Jester. They spun around each other maddeningly, dizzyingly, laughing all the while.
"There you are! We were beginning to wonder if you'd gotten lost."
Fjord was in front of him suddenly, clapping him on the shoulder. It was disconcerting to be recognized so quickly, even if he had told Jester the nature of his disguise ahead of time: a tiefling, with skin, hair, and freckles the same shade of blue as Jester's. His illusory horns looped back, following closely along the curve of his skull and back out again in the place where his real ears were. The face was modeled a bit on Kingsley, and his eyes he had left their usual lilac.
"Ah, well, there were some shifty individuals in Jrusar that I thought might be on my tail, but -- aaAAah!"
Fjord's arms were around him, pulling him into the swirling mass of bodies.
"Let's get them off your tail then, shall we?"
Essek fell into position with decades of courtly practice, as Fjord took the lead, glancing around for openings in the crowd and guiding them through. Essek glanced around as well, trying to get the gist of the dance.
"I-- I am afraid I do not know this one."
"And would the Shadowhand do a dance he did not know?!" Fjord asked, dipping his voice low, eyebrow raised, peering at him with great melodrama. "The spies are confused already!"
Essek ducked his head down as he suppressed a snort of laughter. When he looked back up, Fjord was peering over his shoulder intently, eyebrows and chin raising slightly, as if nodding assent to someone. Essek turned his head to see who he was looking at, but at that moment, Fjord turned them both quickly. Essek narrowed his eyes at him.
"What are you up to?"
Fjord grinned, mischievously. "Just returning a favor."
And with that, Essek found himself being spun away from Fjord, through the crowd, and into the arms of one, Caleb Widogast.
Caleb's face was at turns surprised, confused, and delighted, as his eyes took in Essek's strangely-familiar face and then met his very familiar eyes. He threw his head back as he laughed joyously, pulling Essek close, and Essek could hear Jester and Fjord cackling victoriously over the din in the distance. He relaxed into Caleb's closer-than-proper dance hold, feeling the nerves of the day fade away as they made a lazy loop around the dance floor.
"It is good to see you, Caleb Widogast," he murmured, when Caleb's Lucidian blue eyes met his again.
"You as well, my dear. I'm glad you could make it."
"As am I." He glanced over Caleb's shoulder and spied Jester and Fjord at the edge of the dance floor, grinning, murmuring to each other. Jester's gaze caught his, and she waggled her eyebrows at him. "Fjord mentioned something about 'returning a favor.' Do you know what that was about?" Caleb's eyebrows rose, and as they turned again, he peered over Essek's shoulder toward the edge of the dance floor as well.
"Ah, I will explain later," he said with a small smile, and then leaned in to whisper in Essek's ear. "I think they are talking about us." The feel of his breath against his ear sent a shiver down Essek's spine.
"Well, then, let us give them something to talk about."
The music crashed into a raucous finale as Essek took the lead, pulling Caleb closer still. There was an instant of surprise on Caleb's face before Essek spun them a final, sharp turn and dipped him backwards as he leaned down and kissed him.
A chorus of wolf whistles and cat calls erupted from a particularly rowdy table at the side of the dance floor, full of familiar voices. He could feel Caleb laughing against his mouth as a warm hand pressed gently against the back of his neck, and for a moment, all was right with the world.
Fjord's voice called out over the din.
"You're welcome!"

College of Rebellion (a DND 5e Homebrewed Bard Subclass inspired by Dimension 20: Fantasy High)
Tumblr media
I Order You To Eat My Ass
Bards embody the spirit of chaos, but more specifically its creative aspect. By embracing the destructive nature of chaos, you gain the Chaos Bolt spell, which doesn't count against the number of bard spells you know.
Choke On Grapes, Bitch
At 3rd level, your force of personality overwhelms the magic of your enemies. When an enemy spellcaster within 60 ft. of you fails a spell attack, or an ally succeeds on a saving throw against one of their spells, you can use your reaction and spend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to send back some of that energy.
Each creature of your choice within 10 feet of the enemy spellcaster must succeed on a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or take 2d6 thunder damage. If a targeted creature is empowered by divine magic and fails the saving throw, they are also deafened.
The damage increases when you reach certain levels in this class, increasing to 3d6 at 5th level, 4d6 at 10th level, and 5d6 at 15th level.
My Authentic Impetus Is Destruction
At 3rd level, you can create your Instrument of Destruction by infusing an artistic tool of any kind with your rebellious spirit.
You can use your Instrument of Destruction as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells, and you can use your action to make a ranged spell attack with 20/60 range, dealing 1d6 + your Charisma modifier on a hit.
Additionally, your Instrument of Destruction can absorb the enchantment and the shape of another spellcasting focus. When you acquire an enchanted spellcasting focus that you can use, you can spend one hour to transfer the enchantment from the enchanted weapon into your mythic arm. For example, if you wield a dance ribbon as your Instrument of Destruction and acquire a +1 Arcane Grimoire, you can take one hour to transfer that enchantment to your mythic arm, after which it will be a +1 arcane focus.
If you do not meet the prerequisites to attune to the weapon, you cannot transfer its enchantment into your mythic arm. Once you have transferred an enchantment into the mythic arm, the original weapon loses its enchantment.
If you attempt to transfer the enchantment of another spellcasting focus while currently holding one in your instrument, the previous enchantment is destroyed and the new one replaces it.
If your instrument is lost or destroyed, you can do a 1 hour ceremony to make another artistic tool your Instrument of Destruction. Any enchantment on your previous instruments are permanently lost when you do so.
Burn Towns, Get Money
At 6th level, the fire raging within you alights your friends' spirits. As an action, you can spend a spell slot to start a Display of Disorder using your Instrument of Destruction.
When your Display of Disorder is active, roll a Bardic Inspiration die at the end of your turn. A number of creatures of your choice (up to your Charisma modifier, minimum of 1) within 30 ft. of you get a bonus to attack and damage rolls equal to half the result of your roll.
You can keep the song going for a number of rounds equal to the level of the spell slot expended. Keeping the song active counts as holding concentration on a spell for all intents and purposes.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you complete a short rest.
You've Been A Bad Kid For A While
At 14th level, the power of your art destroys the facades of those around you and reveals them for who they are. As an action, you use your Instrument of Destruction to release the spirit of anarchy.
Roll a Bardic Inspiration die. You can choose a number of objects in 30 ft. equal to the number rolled + half your Charisma modifier rounded up (minimum of 1). If an object is magical or contains spell components, it counts as 2 objects. The chosen objects become non-usable and/or stop granting their mechanical effect for one minute. If a component pouch or arcane focus is chosen, the caster which they're on cannot use material components at all for the duration.
On their turn, a creature wielding or wearing at least one affected object can use an action to attempt a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. On a success, all affected objects on their person become fonctional again. If the creature was barred from using material components, they regain their use of material components.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
(Not gonna lie, I'm only 50% sure any of this is understandable. If you got a question that needs clarified, I'll answer it in the replies)

Kaveh entered the house later than usual, his shoulders were slumped as he placed the keys on the dish near the entrance. Mehrak seemed to be carrying a huge box alongside it as Kaveh walked in. He headed towards the living room, finding Al Haitham seated with a book, nothing out of the ordinary. He places a small pouch on the table in front of him and places a note beside it.
Components for your ear piece. They all still fit your standard design. If you need any help fitting them back in, let me know.
There was a small doodle of a desert fox on the corner of the note. With that placed, Kaveh heads to his room - @ask-kaveh-official
You work too much if you collapse the second you get back.

✨New item!✨ X-Ray Gum Wondrous item, uncommon
Inside of this small dispenser are 1d4+2 sticks of gray, horehound-flavored chewing gum.
As an action you can start to chew a stick of gum. While chewing the gum you can see into and through solid matter for up to 1 minute, at which point the gum loses its flavor. This vision has a radius of 30 feet. To you, solid objects within that radius appear transparent and don't prevent light from passing through them. The vision can penetrate 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, or up to 3 feet of wood or dirt. Thicker substances block the vision, as does a thin sheet of lead.
As an action before the flavor fades, you can blow a bubble and stick the bubble to a solid surface. The bubble allows creatures to see through a 6 inch diameter circle on the surface it is stuck to as if they are under the effect of this gum. The bubble lasts until the flavor fades and then it deflates and is destroyed.
Uriel stopped “Ah, there he is” and she pulled a wad of faintly glowing gray gum from her mouth, offering it to her companion. He stared at her offering in disgust “Absolutely not.” She rolled her eyes and shoved it back into her gob before blowing a large bubble, extracting it, and sticking it to the wall. The two of them could now see into the room, as if she had opened a one-way porthole. In the room were two men, one tied to a chair and the other gleefully poring over a desk bestrewn with vile torturing implements. “Quickly now!” she hissed. Her companion fumbled with a component pouch and whispered something that sounded like a bad joke into a crack in the wall. Suddenly the torturer doubled over and fell to the ground, cackling hysterically. With a resounding crack, audible over the torturer’s hideous laughter, Uriel kicked the door down and rushed into the room. Her husband was unconscious, so she lifted him chair and all, before spinning around and bellowing “Let’s get out of here!”
