Romeo and Juliet was basically on some gang shit. You could say she was a Queen Lord, and he was a GD. They went out on their own terms like some straight-up Gs.

"Son, one of the biggest lies ever told is that Black men don't feel emotions. Guess it's easier to not see us as human when you think we're heartless. Fact of the matter is we feel things. Hurt, pain, sadness, all of it. We got a right to show them feelings as much as anybody else."

NAH CAUSE ANGIE THOMAS IS SO UNDERAPPRECIATED AND IM SICK OF IT. IT COSTS YOU NOTHING TO GO TO YOUR NEARBY LIBRARY AND CHECK OUT “The Hate U Give”, unless you live in Texas.
Do better, y’all.

Angie Thomas is back at it again with a new book related to The Garden. Concrete Rose explores a black teen becoming comfortable in his manhood and imminent fatherhood.

Concrete rose by Angie Thomas
Angie Thomas never misses!
She has another masterpiece in this book. Beautifully written, soulful and heart wrenching story and amazingly written characters, everything I could ever wish for in a book.
It's a story about choices and redemption, about how to make the best of your situation in life. Its also a testimony to how few options you have when you live in poverty in a neighbourhood where the most successful people are drug dealers.
This is an amazing read, and I loved every second of it.

Et Lisa me rend mon baiser.
