Various Uses for Fossils in Magic from Wisht Waters by Gemma Gary
"Sea fossils, as well a guarding against drowning, had other protective uses. The fossils of sea urchins, or Echinoids, were employed for a variety of protections. Upon these fossils, one might find a star-like pattern, very reminiscent of the 'daisy-wheels', which one might find inscribed into the timbers and masonry of ancient buildings, most likely for apotropaic purposes. Their folk names include shepherd's crowns, thunder stones and fairy loaves. They protected against thunder, evil spirits and witches, prevented milk turning sour, and in common with other fossil amulets, they sweated in the presence of poison. As 'fairy loaves' they might be used to ward off supernatural interference from the baking process, and to ensure an abundance of bread."
pg. 104
"Belemnite fossils, from an extinct squid-like creature, were known as thunderbolts, and were thus kept as charms to protect against lightning. Once believed to be the tongues of ancient serpents, fossilised shark teeth were one of the fossil amulets against poison"
pg. 104
"Rings of stone, formed from the fossilised stems of the sea-lily were known as St Cuthbert's Beads, as were worn as amulets against evil influences."
pg. 105
"The 'Devil's Toenail' fossils were carried as charms against rheumatic pain, and they were powdered to be used in the treatment of soreness of the back in horses."
pg. 107
"Various accoutrements of the sea witch's divinatory work may be seen in the Museum of Witchcraft. Here we find that belemnites were employed by a Newlyn sea witch named Nancy. She would read the fall of her 'sea stones' to make predictions for fishermen. Perhaps their traditional association with lightning gave belemnites the virtue to make predictions regarding storms and changes in the weather?"
pg. 108
[...] There have been many ways to bless, consecrate and 'sain' water, thus rendering it more potent and useful within various rites and magical operations. This might be achieved by steeping or immersing charmed items within the water, or else allowing water to flow or be poured over such an item. These may include charm-stones, fossils, flints, or the metals gold and silver.
pgs. 115-116
"Ammonite fossils were also employed as charm stones to cure cattle in 17th century Scotland. They were known as 'cramp stones' because cattle afflicted with cramp would be treated by being bathed in water in which a 'cramp stone' had been steeped for a number of hours."

apologies if this question doesn't really make sense. i am wondering about the meaning of the words hallowed, blessed, and consecrated. my understanding of consecration is it involves purifying an item then imbuing it with a purpose, instructions, 'intent'. would this object hypothetically then be 'hallowed'? or do these words mean something different?
The question makes sense to me.
Historically and linguistically speaking, these words are all interrelated, and even treated as synonymous, so the answer to this question would likely be a little different depending on who you ask. As such, I can only speak to how I use these words in my own personal notes and writings (though I am not as picky about how I use them online.)
Your definition of a consecration is actually a pretty good overview, but it's that intent you mention that specifically makes it a consecration to me. When I consecrate something, that generally entails me devoting something to a particular purpose, entity, or force.
When I use the word "hallow," however, it speaks more to sanctifying something. When I hallow an object, I am taking something mundane and rendering it sacred through ritual and will.
When I use the word "bless," it generally encompasses the act of hallowing, but also includes the weaving of a small cantrip to promote propserity and/or protection.
A word you didn't mention here, but which I think is probably worth mentioning is "sain." When I use this word, it is usually to describe the act of ritual cleansing. Accordingly, if I am saining something, I am purifying it for ritual purposes—often for the sake of hallowing and/or consecration.

Often when we settle we fit our lives into an existing and already consecrated pattern, strive to inherit the order established by those who have come before us, and to honour the spirit of the place.

And just like that his wings turned into two doves and a promise in marriage to a holy wife in matrimony. ♥
In the tranquil expanse of the celestial realm, the Guardian Angel Frederick finds himself engaged in a profound conversation with himself, contemplating the purpose of his existence and his yearning for true love. With a deep breath, he begins to speak:
Frederick: “Why am I here? Is my sole purpose to watch over humanity and shield them from harm? Or is there a deeper calling, a destiny awaiting me?”
As he reflects on his celestial duties, Frederick’s thoughts turn to Sara, the woman who has captured his heart, the one whose presence fills him with a joy beyond compare. With a gleam of excitement in his eyes, he continues:
Frederick: “But then there’s Sara. Oh, Sara. In her, I find solace, a sanctuary away from the tumult of this world. She embodies all that is good – kindness, sincerity, and a love that knows no bounds. I yearn to stand by her side, to share in her laughter and bask in the warmth of her love.”
With each word, Frederick’s heart swells with affection and anticipation, envisioning a future brimming with shared dreams, whispered promises, and moments of pure contentment with Sara. He envisions a life far removed from the allure of fame and fortune, where their love can blossom in the simplicity of a small town, shielded from the prying eyes of the outside world.
Frederick: “Yes, that’s it. My purpose lies not in the pursuit of earthly acclaim, but in the pursuit of love – a love that transcends boundaries and endures through eternity. And with Sara, I have found my true calling, my raison d'être. Together, we will forge our own path, where our love will shine brighter than the brightest star.”
With newfound resolve, Frederick sets his sights on a future with Sara, his heart brimming with hope and anticipation for the love that awaits them. And in that moment, he knows that his journey has only just begun, guided by the boundless power of love and the unwavering desire to be with the one who holds his heart.

Hi there! Would you mind sharing how you would go about enchanting a mundane object to give it occult properties?
The ways I go about this vary depending on the item and context in question, so I unfortunately don't have a catch-all method.
However, virtually every act of hallowing I perform involves some form of Fumigation, Anointment, Prayer, and/or Blood-binding.
As an example, if I were trying to enchant a common mirror for use as a scrying glass, I would inscribe the face of the mirror with sigils of Revelation and Second-Sight using Mantic Oil, allowing the light of a Full Moon to reflect off the glass as I do so. I would then fumigate the mirror with a specialized Incense made from Dragon's Blood and several additives while invoking the Mantic Famulus I share a pact with and asking it to imbue the Mirror with its power. Finally, I would wash the looking glass clean with a mixture of Spring Water and Blood, and then leave it overnight beneath the Moonlight.

DREAM IT AND IT WILL COME
Habakkuk 2:2 - "And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it."
As we spend time in God's presence we come to a place when the Holy Spirit places a vision in our heart that He wants us to follow. Our problem is we don't know how to get fully unstuck from the routines and demands of the present. The cycle of life overtakes us where the Holy Spirit puts a vision in our heart. We wonder if maybe it's not the "right time" to move forward. Invariably we bury our vision AND STAY STUCK. We make our spiritual lives too mechanical. It isn't about pleading, negotiating, praying, and fasting. It's about being clear in your own heart about what dream or vision you want to see manifested.
Habakkuk 2:2 reminds us of the following three steps: Step #1 - Writhe The Vision Down. Don't let "reality" or "false wisdom" rob you of your dreams. There is nothing too out of the box, nothing you can't afford, nothing too unrealistic. When it comes to vision, if it doesn't make you a little apprehensive, it's not God.
Step #2 - Make It Clear Be specific. You need to stretch yourself to see as much detail as possible! When you do this, you create a sensory radar that picks up on cues and connections that correspond to your destiny.
Step #3 - Run With It Meditate on it. Bring it with you wherever you go during the day. As you feed it, the vision materializes.
There is nothing more important in your life for all time and eternity than fully answering the call of God.
What is the most recent vision/dream you've had that is calling out to you to take action this week?
