DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game

Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter. 

Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.

The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge. 

And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).

And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game. 

Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.

After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely). 

Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.

But it’s not like Danny wanted to fight so…he edited the ritual a TINY bit. Card games are good. Much less painful too. #Danny Tucker and Sam made the most complicated card game they could imagine. #It’s based on their strategies for fighting ghosts. Capturing them in thermoses. And MUCH based on a on field battle strategy. #It often requires spontaneous thinking on the spot. So Danny? In his ELEMNT. It doubles as practice for his actual ghost battles too. #They had SO much fun making this. #Sam added an entire series of plant cards that act as traps and healing ointments and duds that just take up the field. #Tucker added legitimate hyroglyphics combined with Latin as well as English and ghost speak. #Yes. You actually have to speak that language to play. With proper pronunciation. (Amity Parker’s think the three are talking gibberish.) #I headcanon Sam and Tucker are fluent in Ghost. #Constantine WILL figure this game out SO HELP HIM! #Some of the cards also have combinations related to constellations either in name or placement on the board. #By the way the board is based on a Hexagonal summoning circle with Rhunes along the edges #And the placement of the cards on the board and on what rhune MATTERS. #Also the cards move disintegrate and have certain abilities. Think of Harry Potter Wizard Chess. #But they are normal when Danny plays at school. This is just for ✨effect✨ Against invaders. #Danny faces multiple opponents. He also halts alien invasions. #While Danny COULD stop crime on earth he’s not sure how to fight a normal human and hold back so he sticks to ghosts. #The Justice league are going crazy trying to figure out who this entity is and after deep research are convinced this is some sort of #Ancient being who has protected earth for millenia. They have paintings on ruins and everything. #Danny is not aware they think this. #Raven starts praying to Danny as if he is a god and wrangles the other Teen Titans into doing so as well. Danny is still unaware of this. #Danny is not a King or an ancient. Just a very VERY strong ghost.

This is random but I absolutely hate how people assume that having something as a special interest (or hyperfixation) means that you have extensive in-depth knowledge about it. Especially since it’s mostly neurotypical people guilty of this (though I’ve seen plenty of nd do it as well.) We’ve been told an annoying amount of times that “you don’t actually have a special interest in x, you hardly know anything about it” by people who have a lot of background in the subject. Like no where in any description of a special interest does it say it makes you an expert in the subject. Some people only fixate on the idea or aesthetic of their special interest. Some only on a surface level knowledge of it. Some people just simply aren’t compelled to dig deeper. I’ve never had the urge to look much into learning more about most of my spins, and when I’ve forced myself to I end up bored and don’t pay attention to whatever I’m researching.

I just need people to understand that having a spin doesn’t require substantial knowledge in the area to be valid. We just want to casually talk about what we already know and maybe learn little tidbits from others without being told “educate yourself” or that we’re invalid.

Let’s play the constellation game!~

As night fell Jooheon had stepped away from Minho who was napping on their couch while they were watching a movie. Carrots was asleep, in her little bunny bed and the Soonie, Doongie and Dori were napping with their dad. Joo smiled pressing a quick kiss to Minho's forehead.

He carefully gets up and starts preparing a book bag and bag. The book bag was full of star books, sketchbooks and pencils along with rulers. The other bag held his newly acquired telescope. He was actually so happy to finally have his own and not having to go to the Astronomy tower whenever he wanted to look at the sky and analyze things. He shuffled around a bit more, setting out food for the babies along with leaving some extra food for the kids and making sure he left a note for them to take some if they're hungry, leaving Carrots' cage slightly open for when she woke up and lastly cleaning everything up so they didn't have to worry about it later.

He checked the time before deeming it a good time to start waking up Minho so they could get dressed and if Min wanted to shower. He shook him lightly, the cats waking up too and moving along as Minho started to get up with a hum. They exchanged a couple words before going their own ways to get ready. Once done Joo lead them to his car and by the tapping of his fingers along the wheel and the smile that graced his face Minho could tell how happy his fiance was. It made him melt internally his own smile gracing his face when Joo moved his hand to hold on to Min's while he drove with the other.

Jooheon was driving to the port area where he had taken Min to see the lanterns, this time staying on the grassy side of it. When they parked Joo jogged over to hold Min's door open and took out the bags he packed and smiled at Min. "Pick a spot." With that, the younger lead them to a spot Jooheon pulled out a blanket and set everything down setting up the telescope. "So, I'll explain the game I had in mind while I set this up." Jooheon mused out while Minho nodded going through the bag Joo had packed finding some of his favorite snacks in it along with the stationary he had packed. "I set up some constellations, you get 30 minutes to look at the constellation as best as you can while I have 20 minutes. You have to draw it from memory and tell me the name of the constellation. If you can tell me other little facts I will be thoroughly impressed and give you little kisses as extra little prizes." He teased lightly causing Minho to roll his eyes fondly at his partner. "You get 5 hints from the big star book.~ You get 10 minutes, I get 3 hints and 5 minutes." He explained as he cheered to himself when the telescope was fully set up and place in it's correct place.

"And what do I get if I win?" Min asked with a raised brow as he placed everything down waiting for Joo to hand him what was needed.

"There are 3 prizes!~ One is expesnive, one is cute and the other is sexy.~" They playfully wiggled their eyebrows towards the last one while Min couldn't help the laugh that escaped him at the older's antics.

"And how do you win each prize?" Min hummed as he leaned his head on their shoulder while Jooheon handed him a sketchbook and some pencils along with a ruler. He placed the big star book as Jooheon calls it in the middle and pulled out his phone to set a timer motioning Min to do the same with his phone.

"There will be three rounds! 3 constellations per round, each winner of that round gets the prize for that round. I'll reveal them as they go.~" He grinned as they both got ready for the little game, Minho unable to shake off the amounts of amusement he was feeling at the lengths his fiance went to make him happy.

He was really in love.

People are always talking about how characters can’t just be friends anymore. That every pair of characters that act amicable towards each other gets labeled as lovers by the fandom and has their friendship completely disregarded. And all of that’s true. But I just want to say that it also applies to enemies to lovers.

Nobody can just be enemies either it seems. Every dynamic involving characters fighting or having a rivalry or otherwise unfriendly relationship gets reduced to “spicy sexual tension” and “hiding their true feelings behind a different kind of passion.” Hate, anger, fear, disgust, distrust, etc. are such interesting human emotions on their own. They don’t need romance to make them interesting. People can just hate each other sometimes.

I’m so sick of romance culture and it’s need to insert itself into everything to make things better, more interesting, or more complex. Maybe if you just stop and shut up for a second, you’d see that it’s already all that and more. People need to learn to appreciate emotions that aren’t love and lust, and types of passion that aren’t motivated by love or lust, and character dynamics that don’t revolve and love and lust.

And people actually think that enemies to lovers is rare and underrated? “I’m so quirky and edgy! I like enemies to lovers and real relationships that aren’t all unicorns and rainbows!” Yeah and so do the rest of the 8 billion people on this planet, you’re not special. Like yeah, ship what you want or whatever, but I’m just sick of this shit.
