god & consumption:
1. “ God announces itself as affliction, as a pain that is gruesome. God doesn’t eat, but wounds. You have to know this in order to live. “ - Fanny Howe, Saving History
2.  “As the Bacchae knew, we always tear our Gods to bits, and eat the bits we like.” - Adam Gopnik
3. “I am rivering I am watching / there is a hollowing-out / hunger inside me / I could eat god” - Alex Lemon, XX
4. “But when I lean over the chasm of myself — it seems my God is dark and like a web: a hundred roots silently drinking.” - Rainer Maria Rilke, I have many brothers in the South
5. “Our theory is that there is a god, and he is hungry.” - Carmen Maria Machado, Especially Heinous
6. “Love is choosing, the snake said. The kingdom of god is within you because you ate it.” - Margaret Atwood, Quattrocento
7. "What does the God of your childhood look like? A soft apparition pigeoned in the attic, a wound eating you one year at a time?" - Rachel McKibbens, Outhouse

What we consume is incredibly important and equally as much is actually the state we consume it in. Call your power back, open your heart space, set intentions that align with what you wish to feel. And, consume from that place.

“If machines produce everything we need, the outcome will depend on how things are distributed.”
“Everyone can enjoy a life of luxurious leisure if the machine-produced wealth is shared, or most people can end up miserably poor if the machine-owners successfully lobby against wealth redistribution.”
“So far, the trend seems to be toward the second option, with technology driving ever-increasing inequality.”

EARTH OVERSHOOT DAY
Today, July 30, is Earth Overshoot Day.
What is Earth Overshoot Day? This is the day each year where it’s calculated that global human consumption exceeds what the planet is able to regenerate for that year.
In other words, we have now used up our entire 2021 renewable earth resources budget with 5 months still to go.
The date for Earth Overshoot Day is progressively getting sooner.
If you visit: www.overshootday.org you can also see what the overshoot date would be if global consumption was the same as various countries. Eg. if everyone in the world consumed like Americans.
I doubt that Mother Nature will be a kind debt collector......

Some might argue that we accept the dominance of the market simply because of an innate desire constantly to work and consume more. But if that were so, the billions spent persuading us to buy would hardly be necessary.

And there God is waiting to eat him. Later he will go out again, but he will be changed, he will have become different, after being eaten and digested by God.

"Whenever we buy something new, the natural world suffers a little damage"
In Aberystwyth, donated household items will be repaired and sold at affordable prices to the community, with proceeds going to an initiative called Carbon Hungry Trees in Kenya. The aim is to stop items going to landfill, provide cheaper products for low-income families and plant trees that boost biodiversity and help farmers to grow produce.

“But what is appropriate to save humanity? ... The entire fossil-fuel economy has to be transformed in a very short amount of time. That’s going to cost trillions, an “appropriate” chunk of which is going to have to come from taxpayers. Whether that money comes from higher federal taxes on Americans, or taxes on private companies that pass down the costs to consumers, it doesn’t really matter. We will feel it, and it will hurt. There is no avoiding this pain—and we’re not just going to feel it in our pocketbooks, but in our personal lives.
“Along with transitioning to a renewable-energy economy, any truly meaningful climate plan is also going to drastically reduce industrial meat production, expand public transportation, end our reliance on cars, and change the way cities are planned and built. The way we eat, the way we get places, and the way we live are all going to change. It will be much more than just an annoying inconvenience.”

Consumption
The hardest part about being a woman is the consumption.
The constant Neverending consumption of eating and being eaten.
To consume beauty products, clothes, makeup, societal standards. Someone is always eating a part of you. Through consuming your time, your energy, emotional labor and physical labor.
Or you're fate is to always consume. to fill the space of expectations too wide and too large and to impossible to be filled by any woman.
But it won't stop us to die trying. And some of us actually do.
Consumption is constantly being eaten and always eating to satisfy the hunger that was put into you by someone else.
The hunger that was put inside you by society, culture tradition and history.
We inherit our mothers consumption. They try to feed themselves too on our bodies.
By finally becoming a mother you would have proved yourself worthy to exist. Being what is expected of your sex.
But even then, motherhood has to failed to fufill the bellies of hungry women.
The constant cycle to eat and be eaten.
Never being allowed to exist. Your body is there to be pleasing to the eye of another, to be consumed by the male gaze.
To be a woman feels like to be consumed. Or it is consuming. Always eating. Never full
Constantly. Someone always wanting a peice of you.
From childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
Childhood you are a doll for your mother.
Adolescence, a peice of meat for men old enough to be your father. But when has fatherhood even stopped men from consuming their own daughters?
Finally adulthood, a wife to your husband, mother to your children and caregiver for your parents.
Constantly being consumed and eaten and used.
I want to escape the consumption. I want to stop being hungry.
Someone always wanting a peice of you. Everyone wanting a peice of you.
Even with and without your consent.
I desire to be full and satisfied.
I am tired being eaten and eating for a hunger that was put inside me to satisfy others.
