It's the penultimate weekend before our exhibition "Art for all Seasons" takes a short break over the holiday period. To give you a taste of what's on offer, this is "Sir Garnet - Winter" (collage based on line drawing) by @easterlyartists member @billhawardart Bill Haward. So what is "Sir Garnet"? On one hand, it's a one-time British army slang term meaning "all in order, everything's OK" in reference to Sir Garnet Wolseley, a 19th Century British general with a reputation for efficiency. More contemporarily, it's now the last surviving 19th Century pub facing the central market in Norwich - although, presumably in a fit of anti-establishmenterialism (if that's a word?), somewhere along the way it dropped the "Sir" and is now just plain "The". If you'd like to view Bill's work in more detail, it's on show this weekend at @ferini_art_gallery The Ferini Gallery in Pakefield. Ferini is at 27 All Saints Road NR33 0JL and is open Friday - Sunday, 11am - 4pm. Entry is free and all work is for sale. ‘JUST BE’ Not had time for making art because I’m painting the kitchen which is fine because it’s still paintbrush and paint and therefore a soothing thing to do. Hate, hate, hate sanding but that’s annother sob story altogether. In between the Cat being hysterical because I keep moving things and losing the masking tape I did find half an hour with my collage papers; go in the other room, put down your cup of tea, shut the door, peace and quiet, just be.
