#contentment with godliness is great gain
Text
Tumblr media
Good Morning!☀️
But godliness with contentment is great gain. [7]For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. I Timothy 6:6-7
Many have been caught in the trap of measuring their success by their possessions. Add to this the tactic of advertisers of trying to keep you dissatisfied with what you have and you have the makings of an endless circle of accumulation. Mean while the stress of paying for all of these things makes it hard if not impossible for you to enjoy them.
Advertisers often use fear, especially fear of loss, in seeking to separate you from your money. The same salesman that sold you a car last year may come this year trying to stir up enough dissatisfaction in you to move you to get this year's model! Imagine how it changes things when you are walking in contentment instead of constantly accumulating more!
We did not come into the world with any of the things we now have, and had no desire for them. The desire was carefully cultivated in us by the world around us. When we leave this world we will leave them all behind. Far better than holding on to things that we lived without before, and will leave behind later, is being content in God, making him our delight and not things, living to please him and resting in his provision.
Godly living with contentment eliminates manipulation into purchases that are not to your benefit. It keeps your heart light and your spirit free. It enables you to smile in situations that cause others to frown. Godliness and contentment is great gain!

30 KEY BIBLE VERSES ON GODLINESS
1 Timothy 4:7-8 – “Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” 2 Peter 1:3-4 – “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called…

Content to be Godly
Content to be Godly
1 Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled. 2 Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things.…

Bad Guys Collab Interview
Ikemen Vampire Vlad x
Ikemen Villains Victor
Tumblr media
I do not own any of the Ikemen Series content being uploaded on this blog, everything belongs to CYBIRD. Please support them by downloading and playing their games.
read this before interacting with my posts
① What do you think of your own personality?
Vlad: Ahaha, that's an interesting question. Hmm... I think many people find my personality rather unlikeable. That's because once I've decided on something, nothing can change my mind.
Victor: I'm bright, lively, considerably charming! — Personaly, I think I have a great personality, but what is your impression of me?
② What is one bad deed you've committed recently?
Vlad: I think it was when Charles and I worked together to hide Faust's glasses. I actually enjoyed seeing that troubled look on his face more than I thought I would.
Victor: I made some scones with lots and lots of butter for Crown. That rich aroma, godly taste, and the weight gain it can lead to... I think that definitely counts as a bad deed.
③ If you could steal anything you want from someone, would you?
Vlad: I wonder what's something I want so badly that I'd steal it from someone? If there is such a thing— I won't hesitate.
Victor: — I'd steal. Shouldn't everyone be candid about their desires and strive to obtain what they want? I may look like this, but I'm actually really greedy.

Who is creating the wants? What do people want? Respect, love, recognition, honour, glory, happiness. Wants are endless, but no one is creating contentment accept to package it as a wants!
We have a world, a nation that is very discontented, we have a world that has so many wants the average person cannot define what needs makes them content.
Hence, we have a society addicted to wants 24/7 Black Friday shopping spry waking up empty with more discontentment longing for Christmas.
Discontentment is a disease there is no jab for, it enslaved nations to lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, the more its eats the more its wants selling our soul, spirit and heart for manufacturer lies.
Proverbs 19:23 The fear of Yahweh leads to life, then contentment; he rests and will not be touched by trouble.

Gratitude: The Proper Mindset for Fruitful Lives
Human beings were never programmed simply to sit around and do nothing. When God created us, He made us with an innate need to accomplish things in our lives. The problem we can encounter is finding the switch to activate that productivity. Contrary to what religion tells us, it’s not working hard, but maintaining a thankful heart.
When we get born again, we’re baby Christians who have a lot to learn. Some of us want to take off like a racehorse and jump out of the gate running; however, our Christian journey isn’t a sprint, but a lifelong marathon. A deep appreciation for everything God did for us lets Him work in our lives to make us increasingly more productive. Paul wrote to the Corinthians that God’s grace wasn’t bestowed on him in vain; although he worked harder than the other apostles, it wasn’t just him, but God’s grace that was working through him (1 Cor 15:10, NLT).
Faith in God’s grace is the key to winning this marathon. At the end of his life, Paul wrote that he had finished the race and remained faithful (2 Tim 4:7, NLT). When we’re faced with challenges, we can accomplish what we need to with thankfulness; this is God’s will for us. We don’t give thanks for the circumstances, but in spite of them.
Being genuinely productive involves being aware of—and grateful for—God’s undeserved favor toward us as expressed through Jesus and His finished works. Gratitude opens the door for Him to work through us to accomplish everything He wants us to do. Thankfulness brings contentment with it; godliness with contentment is great gain (1 Tim 6:6). Part of being content is having an ease of mind no matter what’s happening at the moment.
When we just can’t get started, gratitude gets us going. Knowing who we are in Christ motivates us to excel. The right attitude of thankfulness stops the struggle and moves us forward.

by Doug Eaton | Godliness with contentment is great gain, but we must not misinterpret what it is to such a degree that we turn this wonderful doctrine into something wretched. Godly contentment is not incompatible with feeling the pain of affliction, making our complaints known to God, or seeking lawful ways of escape…

WHAT ARE YOUR HEADCANONS ABOUT THE FIRST GODS
Here are a few my own person HC about them! It's mostly alot of Worldbuilding on my part buut...Hope you like them! Feel free to ask me about more things!
Tumblr media
1)
The old gods are very much a mystery but my interpretation of them is that of the Titans of greek Mythology. Unfathomably old, primordial beings that make up fundamental parts of the universe. Unlike the crown bearing bishops and lesser gods who rely on the worship of mortals for relevance and sustenance, the old gods were powerful in their own right and would rarely if ever engage with mortals.
11)
I doubt the old gods could be stratified into the concepts of good and evil, holy or demonic. Their purpose and duties were far too esoteric, and fundamental to the forces of nature to be simplified as such. Is the Sun 'evil' for being able to cause cancer? Is the moon 'good' for causing the changing tides?
111)
The old gods played a role in the creation of the COTL universe and it's life therein life. Some cared much for the diminutive beings that sprang from them, others did not even notice. More still saw the new creatures as food or little more than parasites. Not all of the old gods were kindly.
1v)
The old gods shed god tears because they knew what was to become of the world they created. The suffering that would be wrought the, pain these little beings would endure before succumbing to their short lifespans. Death was something unknown to the old gods, atleast during the golden age of the universe.
v)
Most of the old gods were content in not directly interfering with the things they created. But there was a small sect that wished for something more than to serve their purpose in obscurity. They yearned to receive some form of reward and praise for their eternal service to existance. And so decided to reveal themselves to the mortals. This was the beginning of the end, of the golden age and the old gods.
v1)
The old Gods, in all their power, were little more than children in regards to their restraint. When others saw what could be gained from mortal worship it sturred a frenzy of envy and jealousy within them. What could not be done themselves, they stole, what could not be stolen, they destroyed. This conflicts began the first Great War that would lead to the downfall of the First Gods.
v11)
In present time within COTL, some old gods still exist. They either went into hiding when the conflict began or were never involved in it at all. Like Ithaqua and Turua, who seem to be residing somewhere deep with the earth and ocean. Who is to say there aren't more hiding amongst the stars.
v111)
I believe the Crowns to made from blood of the old gods. Not just one god but many all condensed into a single form We know that the bodies of gods can be used for relics, and gods tears are the literal tears of the old gods. Their bones are turned into Godly weapons, the strongest weapons in the game. Why not their blood too. Its implied that the old gods fought constantly their blood had to have had magical properties aswell. Within COTL, the spilling of the blood of a god is seen as sacrilege, maybe this is because god blood can cause changes to whatever it makes contact with. Or it can give undeserving mortals the influence of a god...
1x)
The reason the mystic seller covets god tears is because it has never bartered with one. It has never met one. They have met many lesser beings who have become gods but never an old one 'born' a god.

Daily Devotionals for November 21, 2023 Proverbs: God's Wisdom for Daily Living
Devotional Scripture:
Proverbs 28:19-20 (KJV): 19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough. 20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:19-20 (AMP): 19 He who cultivates his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless people and pursuits will have poverty enough. 20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings, but he who makes haste to be rich (at any cost) shall not go unpunished.
Thought for the Day
Honest work will always be rewarded, while those who scheme to get wealth will not go unpunished. Gambling is one of the oldest addictions in the world. Like alcoholism and drug addiction, compulsive gambling drains national and personal economies. Families are the ones who suffer the most. Many people feel gambling is an enjoyable pastime, and even some Christians support lotteries, horse racing, and casinos. Video poker has become so popular it is referred to as "the crack cocaine" of gambling. However, Scripture is clear that it is a snare that can lead to poverty. It is the ultimate get-rich-quick scheme, and Christians should pay attention to the Biblical instruction regarding it.
Anyone attempting to gain money at someone else's certain loss is not practicing Christian principles. A casino preys on the weakness of people. Gambling is contrary to the principles of working, saving, and giving. Gamblers ignore discipline and accountability for their spending. To many, gambling is a scheme to escape work. Some do not realize the gravity of their sin, justifying it because their present income does not meet their needs. God desires these persons to look to Him to meet their needs. He will give a plan for becoming debt-free if they seek Him and search out His economic principles in the Bible. The Lord can bring deliverance to those caught in the web of compulsive gambling. He will break the bondage of all who call upon Him.
Doing an honest day's work is the way to earn a living. Faithfulness to a job brings its reward. God's blessing upon honest labor goes beyond any paycheck. No man can buy peace of mind, health, protection, or joy in the Holy Spirit.
"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and we can certainly carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness" (1 Timothy 6:6-11).
Prayer Devotional for the Day Dear heavenly Father, thank you for Your many blessings and help me to be content with Your daily provision in my life. Deliver me from all worry and anxiety. Lord, help those who have fallen into the snare of gambling. Deliver them and set them free so that they will be able to trust You for their needs. May we all be content with Your daily provisions. Thank You for Your wonderful gifts of love, joy, and peace, which cannot be purchased with any amount of money. I am most grateful. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen. From: Steven P. SETTING: A fantasy planet called Onidia torn apart, that a mysterius metal phenomenon holds together. STATUS: World-Building | Outlining. MASTERPOSTS: SNIPPET | CHARACTERS | WORLDBUILDING (more detailed)
SYNOPSIS
War of the Untouched – that’s how history books mention the event where humans and gods clashed in a terrible fight. Even though immortals were vanquished eventually, the after effect of this war reshaped the world in a way no-one could forsee. Mighty crystal corpses formed in the four corner of the planet and godly essence the incident released roamed in the air, changing everything it touched — animals, plants, and mortals alike. Magic and blood entangled and so: new races were created. Humans no longer graced the earth of Onidia. Or so legends declare. Thousands of years have passed after The War. The new folk of Onidia — the driadlin and the draar, however, still can’t shape peace into a less fragile thing than their ancestors. Constantly arguing over lands and power status, they are ready to let conflict overcome convention yet again. Although, this time, Onidia’s secrets might change the course of events. For better or worse.
LANDS OF ONIDIA
ILLATHIA ― The nation of driadlin. The place of culture and modernism. Blooming fields, rich in mountains, plants and fully susitanable land where people can build homes without actual hardship. It contains seas, rivers and most of the the mysterious phenomenon, what illathian call Metalsea. It's capital is the grand city of Evalon where everything that matters happen. Or so the the King proclaim. pinterest ATARQ ― The great nation of the draar which capital is Bronnok, the place where you can get the best na'koro juice in the world. It's the land of difficulty with a lot of danger and unexplored corners. pinterest LAQUNIA ― A kind of mysterious place somewhere between the two big nations, where desert is all around, so the environment do not seem to be able to sustain life. There are still legends among the driadlin however. Lengeds about a third culture, what they call Shar-Dlin and which the draar insist upon existing. pinterest
PEOPLE OF ONIDIA
DRIADLIN — Their ancient lore says they were the most valuable Untouched before The War, experts in finesse and tactical fields, so their ansectors stayed the farthest from the direct battlefield and the gods. This resulted in lesser changes in features; pointy ears, slender, tall figures. However, the godly essence still gave them more. They've been gifted with eyes that's color can change based on what the driadlin focuses on the most and gain benefits that help them be expert on that field. They're also received the Wildness; a condition where their little bone spikes on their shoulders, elbows, wrist and heels grow out, their teeth, ears and nails get sharper and their whole appearance turn into a more savage one. A disturbed state of mind – be it positive or negative – brings out this condition, so it's one of the most humiliating event of someone who accidentally goes Wild in public and they're not a warrior going to war. DRAAR — The descendants of Untouched whom fought the closest to the gods. Magical energy were so direct their looks became a mix of every mythical avatar of the god they fought with. They're the people of combat and community. Thanks to their durable body, they can stay alive on the dangerous plains and plateaus of the great Atarq since their last war with the driadlin. SHAR-DLIN — Based on the myths and bed time tales, they’re a very isolated lot with an eccentric culture and a strange appearance. Their look (in theory) is a mix of a driadlin and a draar, but everyone's got their own variation. Someone has horns, someone has pointy ears, someone may got some scales.
MAGIC
Important note: Magic isn't used in the beginning. The new folk might have some magical aspect, but no-one knows how to use magic if they even have an ability for it. So the cultures were formed around a non-magic user world. There's gonna be at least two kind of magic. One is the ancient magic that's most similar to soul magic with some healing ability and an another aspect that I'm still working on. The other one is chargable crystal magic. Will extend this part later on!
RELIGIONS
under development, but already having something
FAITH OF VEILNIEVE — Supreme Goddess of vision and perception. The one and only deity the driadlin worship. They live by the idea of valuing things they can see, so they try to keep their vision clear by forging a society that is worth looking at. Devotee of Veilnieve are wearing veils before their eyes so they can keep their vision pure to see truth, and truth only. Priests and Priestess of Veilnieve can never take off their veils – in contrary with avarage citizens who must need to wear it only in religious gatherings –, except in the temple which also serves as their home from the moment they join the chruch. FAITH OF UD'RAQ — Supreme God of expression and speech. The one and only deity the draar worhip. The way they speak is the aspect which they value the most. The resonance, the tone, the rhythm of their words gives the true meaning of what they say. A change in resonance and the same sentence's meaning changing with it.
CHARACTERS
CRONYL ELDENWER — The exiled orphan boy, who grew up to be a secret rescuer of those in need. A somber young man with the determination of creating a place where the people can have freedom and control over their own lives without fearing attrocities and the royals. The only question is: can he achive this goal before his past and his thirst for revenge eats him up alive? pinterest | playlist AVELYN DIONE — The pristess apprentice, soon-to-be actual Pristess, who's curiosity and clumsiness leads her into a secret that can shake her entire culture and pherhaps the whole world even. pinterest | playlist SYONEHLIA DIONE — Avelyn's sister, the oldest of the Dione family, who's responsibility would be to make the family greater. However, she prefers freedom and the martial arts over the role of heiress, which heavily influences her choices and actions in the future. pinterest | playlist BRA'AKA — The draar prisoner of war, who's forced to fight in the colosseum of Evalon for entertainment. Missing his family and desiring to win back his honor, he does everything he can to break out and go home. pinterest | playlist DARMON STROTAGOR — The skilled mage on the dark, hidden side of Onidia. A man who lives by his ideals, so long as they’re right. But after a very long time, his ways to reach his goals are getting tested. pinterest | playlist IZOHR — The metalshaper, who’s sister’s sudden disappearance forces him to investigate after prophecies and vows long forgotten. pinterest | playlist
AUTHOR'S NOTE | TAGS
I need to organise my tags and everything, but it's finally done. I'll update and change some stuff in this post as I go since this story is still in the worldbuilding phase. This is also going to be a series, so the synopsis goes for the whole story. That’s why there's no character mentioned there. However, the other synopsis on my main intro post is the premise of the first book. I'm confusing, sorry lol! TAGS. snippets | worldbuilding | moodboards | character dynamics | magic systems | eye colours | technology | tunes | influence | Darnehlia ship | Cronlyn ship | picrews
Thank you so much for checking it out! ♡

UNDERSTANDING GOD'S DELAYS
The reasons for delay in your life are actually choices you have total control over?
Reason #1 – Pursuing the Promise Instead of God
If you have been in a pattern of delay for weeks, months or even years, ask yourself, "Have I been chasing something that is related to God's purpose for my life?"
For example, if you want something or need something, is it possible you don't believe you've already received it (Mark 11:24)? God promises in Philippians 4:19, "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
He is faithful and trustworthy. He says what He does and does what He says. God has promised you that He has ALREADY given you all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). Why not believe God at His Word?

Reason #2 – What You Magnify Will Manifest
The more you magnify anything, the more it continues to manifest. What you feed will grow. Instead of magnifying the delay, what you can do is choose to be content and thankful for what you already have.
Complaining about the delay can stop what we desire to happen in our lives. Be intentional from now on and choose to be content at all times.
1 Timothy 6:6 reveals a KEY to our breakthrough: "Now godliness with contentment is great gain." Just like complaining is a choice, being content is also a choice.

Reason #3 – Doing It Your Way Instead of God's Way
If you truly want to follow His lead, then take Jesus' advice in Mark 8:34: "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me."
To take up your cross (come to understand and implement your Christ Calling) requires self-denial because you are now living a fruit-bearing, Kingdom-advancing life dependent on the leading of the Holy Spirit.  This requires abandoning previous agendas and personal goals (self-denial) that cause problems with time and focus so you are now leading a life moving from glory to glory, living in God's favor, carrying out His will instead of your own.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (Part 7)
Currently continuing to clear out my Google Drive to make way for the new (catch me side-eyeing the Solarpunk and Isekai genres lol). with all these unused ideas just floating around, I'm keeping at posting them here.
Maybe just so I can reference back to them in time, but possibly so someone else can use them. Click here if you want more thoughts on the matter.
Story under the cut ~
Alright, part two of two for The Undertow, featuring some godly lore and a design guide for Undertow-style Mer.
It'll become pretty clear that I only got as far as fleshing out the sea-gods, as I don't have anything for the other pantheons except for names.
And yes, they are all acronyms.
Godly lore below:
Sea-Gods
Caeon - The Cradle Creation, Life, The Ocean, Mer
When the world was young, there was Caeon and Esa. While it was Esa that grew dissatisfied with the empty world, it was Caeon that changed it. He found the deepest crevice, and within it created a spring that spilled forth clean water, filling every canyon and cavern. When he was done, he found that in the eddies and currents new Gods had spawned. He watched as these young Gods brought forth animals, plants and created domains beyond his wildest imaginations. When all was said and done though, the Gods realized that something was missing, and pooled their power to create the Mer, a people who could follow in their footsteps. Caeon is ever proud of the Mer, he considers them his children and always acts in their best interests, and is more than willing to intervene should they be threatened. Caeon resides deep below the surface, watching his first creation, the Font of Life, which supposedly also functions as a portal to the afterlife. Caeon himself is a living ocean current that glows with divine power, within one can see an endless glowing reef under a sunlit sky, and the pieces of water that float off his form are said to be the souls of unborn Mer.
Esa - The Glory/The Legacy Sea Storms, Greatness, Sharks, Legends
It was Esa that brought forth the idea of creation into Caeon’s head. It was Esa that spearheaded the creation of the Mer. And it is Esa who is never satisfied. While Caeon symbolized water life-giving aspects, Esa represents its roiling and capricious nature. Esa is immensely proud of each and every one of her children, but in her mind there is no worse fate than to become stagnant in mind and body, never reaching one’s full potential. It is because of that Esa sends her violent storms and dangerous creatures, so that the Mer may be tested and succeed. Unlike Caeon, who remains watching over the font of life, Esa is always moving. Many Mer have described a traveler arriving on their doorstep during a particularly bad storm, and many believe this to be Esa hiding in Mer form, eager to judge her children’s generosity. Esa is said to appear in many forms, when carrying out her secret tests, Esa often takes the form of a downtrodden Mer desperately asking for aid. When not hiding her true nature, Esa often swims in the form of a massive shark, with remoras that are said to be the souls of heroic mortals that won her favor.
Bahret - The Lifeblood Civilization, Intrigue, History, Materialism
Unlike the other Gods, who are content to guide or watch from afar, Bahret loves to be in the thick of Mer politics and intrigue, ruling over a kingdom of her own creation. One might think a kingdom ruled by a God would be unstoppable, but Bahret purposefully limits herself to learning and gaining wealth the hard way, along with starting over if a Mer can successfully harm her in any way that would kill a normal mortal ruler. However, this choice doesn’t come from an admiration for fairness, but rather a desire for a little bit of a challenge in her political game. Despite being quite materialistic and a little frivolous, she does have the best interests of the Mer and her subjects at heart, though she does look at them with a deal of contempt, believing that sometimes she knows what’s best for them better than they do. Bahret has ruled over the same kingdom since the beginning of complex civilization, over time turning it into a city with towers of gold and palace spires taller than many mountains, excluding the occasional dark age or two. Bahret’s kingdom has always been a hub of art and learning, as the one exception to her self-imposed restrictions is to preserve culturally significant artifacts. Bahret’s preferred form when ruling is that of a crimson Mer, wreathed in the wealth of her kingdom and always surrounded by her entourage, though when at festivals she often changes forms to those of extravagant and gaudy sea creatures.
Petrian - The Reef Artist/The Dead Desert God Art, Colour, Coral Reefs, Tropical Fish
Petrian would have never been a powerful God, although he had his alliances and rivalries, a camaraderie with Elos as lovers of colour and style, a contest with Ceilgar over who could create the greatest sculpture, he was never extraordinary, except for one thing. Of all the Gods, Petrian gave the Mer the greatest gift, Petrian created a series of patterns that would let them tap into a magic similar to the Gods, it is because of this gift, the Markings, that Renis directed her hatred towards him in particular. They say that when Renis ripped out his heart, she ripped out her own as well, so that she would never have to feel guilt for what she’d done, and hid the two in the center of her labyrinth, always under the watchful gaze of her darkened eyes. In life, Petrian preferred the form of a tropical fish, though which kind often changed based on his mood. He would often swim among schools of other fish, claiming that watching the patterns helped to focus his mind and hone his creative edge. Petrian had no permanent home, but didn’t travel constantly either, choosing to stay wherever brought him the most inspiration. His heartless corpse now lies in the middle of a barren desert, poisoning a once beautiful oasis with wretched, blackened water.
Lotrivi - The Poisonous Watcher Poison, Pragmatism, Spies, Kelp
Lotrivi was the first of the Gods born of the shifting currents of the newly-created oceans, and looked upon the world with an analytical interest, and saw in it an inherent unfairness. The world was dominated by creatures that were the physically strongest, while the fragile and clever had to hide and cower. In order to balance the scales, Lotrivi gifted a power that would level the playing field, poison. With it, even the smallest snail could defeat the mightiest shark. Lotrivi has little to no contact with the Mer, believing that intervening would give the Mer an unfair advantage. They had their minds and their wit, if they were meant to thrive, they wouldn’t need his help to do so. Lotrivi prefered state of a colossal leafy seadragon, which suits him well, as he often wishes to be left to his own devices. Hidden amongst his frills are many spines connected to a poison that glows a bright toxic green. It’s said that one drop can fell even the mightiest whales, and yet also cure any illness. Lotrivi’s domain is a massive kelp forest spanning several miles. And the twisting cave networks underneath. Each night the kelp glows with magic light, particularly the pneumatocysts. Hiding between the blades of the seaweed are countless poisonous creatures, and while the various lionfish and sea urchins are not hostile, they still make traversal in the region difficult.
Elos - Thousand-Forms Cephalopods, Shapeshifting, Trickery, Wanderers
The God of tricksters, shapechangers, and their own Cephalopod variant of the Mer, Elos spend their time getting into trouble, and playing pranks that perhaps only they find funny. Although Elos is always up for an escapade, they never act maliciously, should things get out of hand, they’ll be the first to drop the act, a joke isn’t funny if someone gets hurt. There is only one circumstance in which Elos’ jovial nature fades away, and that is of the mention of anything to do with Renis. Of all the Gods, Elos was closest to Petrian, together they were the ones that painted the nascent world with colour and oddity, Elos will take any opportunity to foil Renis in any of her schemes. Like Esa, Elos travels far and wide, always on the lookout for young mischief makers to bless, and festivals to crash. One of the more down to earth Gods, Elos love to revel amongst mortals, while leaving behind a practical joke or two. Elos takes many forms, whichever is required for their tricks, but when speaking to Mer they often choose to mirror the form of whichever mortal they’re speaking to, prioritizing changing to a Elosian Mer if they’re speaking to a group.
Ceilgar - Bones Of The Ocean Ice, Isolation, Arctic Creatures, Sculpture
Before her exile, Renis was no hermit, she had her rivals and friends, and she was closer to none more than Ceilgar. Together the two Gods traveled across the oceans, marveling at their creation, and Renis cheering from the sidelines whenever Ceilgar challenged Petrian as to who was the greatest sculptor. Sadly this bond between Gods was ripped apart over the subject of the Mer. After their falling out, Ceilgar isolated herself in the glaciers of the northern oceans, even further so when Renis killed Petrian, as Ceilgar blames herself for not trying harder to change Renis’ mind and instead giving up on her lifelong friend. In the aftermath of her clash with Renis and the death of Petrian, Ceilgar turned her beautiful palace into an impenetrable citadel, inside of which she laments over what she could or should have done to save her friend. The few who have entered the frozen fortress claim that elements of its previous rendition remain in the form of beautiful statues carved from ice. On the occasion Ceilgar leaves her ice castle to survey her icy domain, she does so in the form of a massive polar bear, one of her most beloved creations. When speaking to Mortals, she often chooses to do so in the halls of her citadel, taking the form of a vaguely humanoid figure made of ice.
Vaal - The Sun Of The Sea Bravery, Eclipses, Sea Slugs, Heroism
Acts of daring and strength were Vaal’s expertise. Diving off the highest sea cliffs and outswimming orca pods just for fun. It was when Renis betrayed the rest of the Gods, and took out her frustrations on the Mer people, forcing them to hide in the deepest trenches to avoid her wrath, that Vaal devised his greatest feat. With Cosmirn running interference, Vaal stole shards of the sun, and brought them deep below the sea so that the Mer could have light and warmth so far from the ocean’s surface, inadvertently creating the eclipse. Although he was largely successful, Renis struck him down with a spear of dark magic before the final sunshard was set into place, causing it to explode and gravely injuring Vaal. While he did recover, rumors say that the combination of fire and darkness weakens his heart to this day, turning bravery to fear. Like Lotrivi, Vaal resides in a towering kelp forest, in fact, Vaal’s domain is quite close to Lotrivi’s and they speak often, supposedly. Unlike Lotrivi’s territory, Vaal’s contains fewer poisonous inhabitants, but does have a volcanic element to the south. While Vaal now spends his time in his domain, he once also traveled the seas, testing himself against mortal Mer. When interacting with Mer or showing off in contests and challenges, Vaal prefers a Mer form wreathed in fiery markings. When resting however, Vaal often chooses the form of a giant nudibranch coloured like a fiery sunset. Mer who’ve met him have reported a strange black scar over his heart, regardless of the form he picks.
Cosmirn - Clarity Of Whispers Secrets, Camouflage, Jellyfish, Obscurity
Cosmirn is a secretive being, content simply collecting information and observing discreetly. Little is known of Cosmirn, but their most well-known legend takes place after Renis’ banishment. When Vaal stole the Sunshards from the sky, Cosmirn was the one who distracted Renis, making sure she couldn’t interfere with their transference to the deep sea. Because of this, Renis laid a curse upon them, that over time would cause them to wither away, thankfully, Cosmirn had a trick up their sleeve. Since the curse was keyed to their name and personality, they switched names with their closest ally, who at the time was Cosmirn, but is now known as Bahret. Still, in modern day, Cosmirn still keeps a low profile, hesitant of once again incurring the Sky Witch’s wrath. Cosmirn has several hideouts throughout the land, each relatively unassuming, nothing particularly eye-catching, but also enough to live in comfort. Many Mer trying to escape their pasts have traveled to these safe houses, leading each to have a small colony surrounding them, though many believe Cosmirn has yet more secret hiding places kept only to themself. Cosmirn prefers to take the form of obscure sea creatures, many of which were their own creation. They also prefer transparent creatures or ones with camouflage capabilities. When speaking to Mer however, they usually take the form of the more well-known jellyfish.
Renis - The Witch Of Sky And Song Pre-Exile, Magic, The Water’s Surface, Sunsets, Sea Birds Post-Exile, Betrayal, Murder, Manipulation, Cruel Magic
There are kind Gods who aid the Mer at every opportunity, and there are Gods who don’t care for the Mer, but respect them as their own beings. And then there is Renis. When the Gods came together to create the Mer, Renis refused, believing that the Mer had no right to exist in a world they did nothing to help create. When the Gods went ahead with their design regardless, Renis was enraged, and took out her anger on the God Petrian, ripping out his heart, and leaving his body in a desert, creating a pool of blackened and poisonous water. In retaliation the remaining Gods cursed the once-beautiful Renis, turning her into a winged monster who could not breathe the lifewater Esa and Caeon had created. In the aftermath of her banishment from all the world’s oceans, Renis took to a seemingly beautiful tropical island, but underground lies a labyrinth in which Renis traps and tortures her Mer victims using her still beautiful voice, alongside a cult of fanatics known as the Red Tide. Before her exile, Renis was beautiful in a way that only a God could be, but her most prominent trait, aside from her otherworldly beauty, was her wings, vibrant red like the evening sun. After her banishment she fell into disarray, her mix of avian and piscine features meeting in the most vile ways possible, and her eyes and mouth constantly leaking an oily black substance that chokes the water.

Warning of random ask here 😩 LOL
It upsets me sometimes that the world makes it seem like we should do all these “cool” things in order to have meaning but I think having a simple and peaceful life can be good too,no? I am on the autism spectrum so sometimes I think things that are out of the ordinary quite anxiety enduring … as Christian’s , as long as we are listening to God do you feel this way of life can be good too?
I totally understand. My fiancé is on the spectrum as well, so I know how you feel. There is safety in the familiar. Good news is that the bible mentions multiple times that living a slow, simple and gentle life is a good thing!!!!!
1 Thessalonians 4:11
“…make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,”
1 Timothy 6:6-7
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.”
You're not doing anything wrong at all!! I hope this helps love. Peaceful and simple is a good way to live and very Christ-like ♡ Don't worry♡
