Making tortell de reis, traditional dessert for the Three Wise Men holiday (January 6th).
These cakes have a figurine of a king and a bean hidden in them. When the cake is cut and given to the family members, whoever gets the king will wear the crown, and whoever gets the bean will pay for the cake next year.
Translation:
Shirai: There’s a seiyuu called “Enoki* Junya”, and today I shall cut Enoki in half.
[*Enoki = Enoki Junya / Enoki mushroom]
Shirai: You’ve been in too many anime recently. (chop, staff laughing) There we go.
Shirai: I’m doing this while thinking strongly of Enoki. (dark laugh) This [mushroom] is my cursed Enoki voodoo doll, and I’m gonna cut him in half again. (chop) Give me some of your anime roles.
Shirai: Now we need to tear him apart. (mutteringly darkly) He keeps getting the main character roles… That bastard… I WILL DESTROY ENOKI. (aggressive tearing)
Shirai: (drug-like deep inhale) I actually like enoki mushrooms a lot, it’s in my top two. Enoki mushrooms, Eryngii mushrooms– and what else…?
Shirai: Well I really love Enoki and Eryngii. They’re my first and second choice respectively maybe. I like the texture of them in my mouth.
First of all, this dude's eyes are very big and very...green? Blue green? I dunno, but wow.
Secondly, "By the power of the Midwest AUGH!" and "Whattypeof NeBRASKa voodoo is THIS!" made me laugh out loud. What is it that Cassie says? I think the phrase is it's sending me.
Thirdly, the look on his face when he took the bite and realized he liked it *cackles*
Oh yeah, you asked yay or nay. Ummm, I don't know, Anon. I'd have to make it myself and try it. I love cornbread, and I love ranch. And I love ranch Doritos. So I think I'll like it.
I'm gonna make it though. The recipe is pretty easy.
