im so curious about your creative process- is there anything you can share about how u go about songwriting, finding your style, collaborating vs working independently? do u produce any of your own stuff? sorry too many questions ok ily bye

Hi thank you sm for listening 🥹

1. As far as songwriting goes, I can go a few ways. The thing that happens most often is phrases or lines or choruses, etc. come to me independently, randomly throughout the day. I write them down all in one place. Later on, this could be days after, or a year after, I take all of the phrases and lines that work well, with each other, thematically and string them all together into a song. Kind of like picking berries from a bunch of different plants, and then afterwards, putting all of the different berries in their own buckets. Does that make sense? Sometimes I can write a song in one day, sometimes it takes me two years to write a song. Regardless, whether not, I have actual lyrics or something, I tend to think of concepts for songs way before anything is on paper, when I’m developing an album, especially. Like, I know that X album is going to have a song about XY and Zand I keep that in mind when things come to me.

Finding my style has been predicated on years and years of obsessive listening. Music, particularly the kind of music I listen to, is my autism special interest. I tend to have two different kinds of influences, textural influences: Slowdive, my bloody valentine, Godspeed You black Emperor, grouper, duster. And then I also have a influences that “teach”me more about lyrics and general songwriting. Carissas’s Wierd, Giles, Corey, Lisa Germano, Songs Ohia/ Jason Molina, Low. Some of these artists can fit into both camps. It sounds really cliché, but I tend to think of the artists that help me develop my sound less as influencers and more as “teachers”,as much as listening to bands and artists I love is just a part of daily life, catharsis, and such, I am also learning, even if it doesn’t feel like it. As far as finding my style goes, Knowing what to do with everything I’ve learned, it’s been a lot of years of sitting up in my room and fucking around on my guitar. Knowing what sounds good, doing what doesn’t work well. I don’t consider myself a technically proficient guitarist, but I consider myself very emotionally proficient. When it comes to instrumentals, I’d much rather engender feelings of loss or heartbreak or nostalgia or devotion, rather than composing something “impressive”. Though the common denominator in all the music I’ve made is an ethereal type of sound, it continues to evolve. The self titled, and the violet EP were very classic shoegaze, the releases, before that, many of which I’ve taken off the Internet, are much more arcane, sometimes “folky” form of that. The material for Orbweaving, and the material for the solo LP I’m releasing this year still have moments of a heavy layers and lots of ambience— but there’s also some more sparse moments, more of a “slowcore” kind of deal. I really want to move towards having my vocals more so front and center, as I become more confident in both my singing, and my songwriting.  I was born into a family where everyone was naturally impressive singers, and it just so happened that I was the only one that wasn’t, so a lot of my older music was subconsciously, built around, hiding my voice. As I continue to develop it, it feels good that I can remove a veil of two if that makes sense.

Working with others, is relatively new to me, when I was in high school and college, I never really joined anyone else’s band (aside from an industrial band I was in for about a month) and though I had a live band playing for me much of the time, all of the compositions we’re done by me. I honestly used to tell people that Vyva was “a band” because it seems like people respected me a little bit more versus if I promoted it as a solo project. I was a band Kind of a control freak and that way, so working with Madeline opened up my mind a lot.  I’m much more in love with the idea of collaboration now. Since working with her in summer of 2021, i have done live guitars for a couple SRSQ tours, and have been working on some of the guitars for Ethel Cain’s records—so working on Orbweaving opened up a lot for me mentally. For me, collaboration is a lot about relinquishing, having faith in the other person or other people you’re working with. It can be really hard, but I’m glad I’ve started moving towards that because it feels wonderful.

Everything up until “Orbweaving” I produced at home, the only thing I needed someone else’s help with was mastering. Me and Madeline did a lot of mixing together when I was in New Mexico, but in the following year, she finalized all of the mixes on her own. The upcoming solo LP, l enlisted the help of a producer to record me in a studio and mix the record. Also to record drums (the instrument I feel the least confident with, used to do all of it digitally) and some of the bass. The process, pandemic obstacles included, took about two years. I’m only just getting it remastered, because I wasn’t happy with the first round. Some of the guitars I recorded on my own at home, and there are three features on the record (teehee) that for recorded by the vocalists at their respective houses and places of living. In general, though, very much my first foray into having someone else take the reins on my own record. For the next album, which, because the solo LP has taken so long, I have almost completely written, I want to do a mix of a studio work with a producer, but also try to get as much recording done at home as I can. I have a lot to relearn when it comes to mixing my own music.

I AGREE. I hated season 1 like if it weren't for @daisydaisygoose dragging me through season 1, I would not have finished it (I DNF'd the book, it was the only book in the whole series that I DNF'd too).

I think? the difference between QC and S2 for me was that Shonda had way more say in the plotline that she does in S1 and S2 (because they have the framework of the books to follow) so the plotline was way stronger and sorry to say, the characters were much more compelling. Corey and India had AMAZING chemistry from the very beginning and I think the wall scene is one of my favorite TV scene ever so yeah.

I haven't read the book yet, I'm a bit nervous too because I don't want Julia Quinn to piss me off with her wishy-washy plots and characters LMAO

so im a few episodes into the ice part and so far its actually not bad. tbh it feels much less filler! i do have a few concerns tho. first: i dont really understand why nya has the ability to control ice?? it seems weird because theres a whole other element for that?? i mean, you could argue that nya only controls pre-existing water/ice/snow, while zane creates ice/potentially snow out of nothing, but if thats the case, i dont understand why it wasnt cleared up. my second concern is the three(?) tailed wolf. i see what they were getting at, with the constant call backs to japanese culture and mythology, but isnt it a fox originally???? i just dont quite understand why they made it into a wolf. other than that im also slightly salty how much attention and care is given when nya cant use her powers vs how it is with kai. now, i understand that she deserves extra attention being one of the only active female characters, and dont get me wrong i love her, but i just wish they gave kai that care too :( (the most misogynistic thing the ninjago creators have actually done isnt even the lack of female characters and rep. its giving the exact same haircut to nya and pixal) COREY (is it ok if i call you that?) Theo doesn’t cry in movies unless it’s about a dog or something. Like in a dogs journey. Liam doesn’t really cry either, but is a lot more likely too than Theo. Like if any character he likes even a little dies? He’s either bawling or crying slightly.

He wasn’t always! Theo used to be a really light sleeper, but because he had Liam he began to trust himself to fall into deeper sleeps. He began to feel safer in his own home and because of that he found the ability to sleep so much better

Everything happens at a party

Warning: Knifes and guns

Summary: You and Stiles are dating and plans on going to a party, which Stiles is unsure about. But something unexpected happens when they are there.

"Hey Stiles! Are you ready for the party at Lydia's?" You said as you saw him in the doorway. "Well I was thinking of not going after everything that has happened at all the different parties." You grab his hands and dragged him in and up to your room. "Stiles, it’s a small party this time, only with friends you know. Plus nothing has happened in forever, so you don’t need to worry." You sit down next to each other at the bed. "Yeah you are probably right, so sure I will go to the party." Stiles said as he stood up. "And y/n?" You look up at his honey colored eyes, waiting for him to continue his sentence. "You are really red right now, it’s not that hot in here. Is it?" he says while smirking. You look down while kicking his ankle all flustered. "Ouch don’t kick, that's not very nice." he chuckled. "Stiles! Quit laughing at me! It’s not funny." "I’m only doing it because you are adorable." he said. "Agh! you gotta stop doing that!" you said has he dragged you up so you now were standing. "What?" he asked. He pulled you closer to him and you whispered "saying things making me want to kiss you.” “Well I don’t mind you kissing me.” He pressed a soft kiss on your forehead “I think we have to leave now if we are gonna go to that party you were talking about.” he said as he walked out of your room. With you still standing there not really ready for that party, but you walked down to him anyways.

Time jump-At the party

Everyone was there Liam, Scott, Malia, Lydia, Mason. “Wait, where is Corey?” you asked looking around for him. Mason pointed to the corner and he appeared out of thin air. “Sorry, I just thought you were someone else.” He said while he walked to an empty chair and slowly sat down. “What’s up with him, he’s not really the paranoid one in this group.” Malia asked looking from Corey to Stiles to you. “I understand it. A lot has happened in the past years.” Stiles mumbled while putting his arm around your shoulder, in an attempt to make you feel safe. “Well I’m not so sure that’s the only reason. I think someone else is actually coming.” Lydia said staring out in the air. “Oh please tell me your just joking. I’m so tired of all this.” Malia walked over to Lydia waiting for her to tell her she is joking. “I just have a bad feeling. Its not like I have seen anything. I just has this cold feeling. Like if all the doors were open.” She looked over to Scott to indicate that he had to say something, since he is after all the alpha. “mh yeah. Well we cant really do anything now if there is anything at all, since we don’t know what would happen.” He stood up and found some soda and ships. “So we might as well have a good time”

There was some uncertainty hanging in the air, but after a while and some good music, this conversation was forgotten about. Except Lydia who had to find a blanket because she just couldn’t shake off the feeling of the cold air. The same air that was filled with chatter and laughing, people falling over each other in a game of twister, warm yet so cold.

A sound of broken glass hitting the ground made everyone quiet, and someone turned of the music to hear what was going on. The cold air from outside washed over you and made you shiver. “Cold.” You said looking over to Lydia who now was standing ready to see what broke the window. The door slammed open while 3 guys ran in and one woman jumped through the broken window. “EVERYONE DOWN!” this one guy with blond hair yelled pointing a gun at them. “ON YOUR KNEES!” another guy yelled, trying to push you down. “Hey! Hands off!” Stiles yelled to the blue haired guy that was trying to push you down. “GIVE ME YOUR MONEY! TELL ME WHERE IT IS!” You look over to Scott and says “After all the supernatural we have been through. Lydia predicts a robbery. I though she was the Harbinger of Death, not a psychic.” The woman that jumped through the window looked at you like you were crazy. “The harbinger of death?” She said. “Wtf is that supposed to mean? Does she like predict death?! Because im ready to get that fulfilled for you.” She had a small knife, but big enough to kill someone if you hit them the right place. She threw it with all her power and it hit Scott in the chest. “Agh! That wasn’t really nice!” He said as he pulled the small knife out of his chest. Stiles walked over to you and sat down beside you “Hey! y/n, you ok?” he looked at the blue haired guy with an evil stare before meeting your eyes again. “Yeah, I’m ok! He just made me sit on the ground. So, its nothing.” The guy that had been quiet all this time started yelling “IM NOT KIDING WITH YOU! TELL US WHERE YOUR MONEY IS!” you looked at him tired of all this. “Ok, I’m done with this yelling.” Malia said looking at Liam and Scott. “Ah, same.” Liam said. The woman then bent down to you and asked “Are they ok? First I throw a knife at one of them, and no one really reacts, and now they talk as if this happens on a daily basis.” Stiles shrugged “well not really daily, but you are not wrong. Its usually just a little different.” You say to the woman trying to rob you. Malia’s, Scott’s and Liam’s eyes start glowing while they are looking at the men. “Oh holy shit!” the blue haired guy said running out of the house followed by the two other men. “What’s up with them? Agh! I guess I have to do everything by myself then.” She then stood up and walked over to the rest of the group. “ok sit down like those two do and tell me where your money is. Is that so god damn hard?” you looked over to Scott signaling that you are tired of the woman. You heard his roar breaking the silence and the woman turned around in fear. His eyes were glowing red and claws instead of nails. He roared again. “Finally!” you said annoyed at how long it had taken. The woman who now were terrified said “Ok. Keep your money. I don’t want it anyways.” And she ran just like the men did. “Wow. I’m just surprised none of them shot any of us when we showed them our eyes.” Scott giggled. “Scott, she threw a knife at you!” Lydia reminded him. “Yeah… but I healed didn’t I.”

Stiles drove you back home and followed you to your door. “Well i think you are right.” You said before turning to him. “right about what?” he asked. “Everything happens at the parties. Maybe we should stop going to them.” You looked him in his beautiful eyes, and you could see him smile. “Yes, you are right. Everything does happen at parties. Like our first kiss, our first fight as a couple, and us making a lot of good memories. I don’t really want to stop making those memories. At least not memories like we made at your birthday party last year.” You felt a warm feeling in your cheeks by the thought of that day. “y/n I don’t want to stop making those memories with you. As you said, something always happens at parties."

Who wants to hear my dream about me, Otep and Talena filling in for a Slipknot concert

I was backstage to the concert, I see unmasked Corey Taylor and Otep and this is when they both looked the same with the same hair and style (shoulder length blonde hair, baggy t shirt and jeans, spiked and rubber bracelets, converse etc) and he's like "thanks for covering for me Otep, the song is Surfacing" and she's got headphones on. Then i see Talena Atfield with headphones on studying up. It's time to go on stage and i’m up there with a guitar. I have no idea with i’m doing but im doing it. Otep is going nuts singing the song (not actually Surfacing but my brain was sure it was). Talena's bass is gorgeous and the most prominent instrument, there was some other female metal musician i like on the guitar but i dont remember. I'm absolutely euphoric. There IS a crowd, I can hear them and I know they're there, but i dont really see them i mostly just see Corey in the front seat giving a thumbs up like "😁👍🏻." We finish and I’m sitting on the stage steps next to Otep and the conversation goes like, Me: "Omfg that was awesome🥰" Otep: "ugh. shut up leave me tf alone" Me: "...ok fuck you," *i leave* Otep: "No wait... I’m sorry.... you have beautiful eyes," Me: "You do too," it was like confusing aggressive dramatic dykery idk. Then the second half of the dream didn't really have anything to do w this so i won't go into it but it ended with me escaping somebodys pet cheetah and undiscernable carnivore-arctic-fox-wildcat.

No Way (aaaaaa this is where it got kinda hard to rank for the most part no way is a great song and I like it but it still not my fave I actually v happy it made it to to 10 so ya. it catchy and great cuz friendship w/ the trio and Malfoy and all four of them are amazingggggg joey bonnie Darren and Lauren slaaaayyyyy we stan)

9. The Coolest Girl (ok yes this is abnormally low im sryyyyyyyy I just rlly like a lot of songs better than this and I also rlly like the homecoming version w/ Meredith and bonnie more so oops. I tend to compare them in my mind a lot so oh well. but ya great song v uplifting bonnie is great we stan a queen I sad she no to starkid anymore but,,,,, I get why she stopped so ya)

8. Guys Like Potter (aaaaaaaaaaaaaa Tyler and joeeeeeee omfg this is amazing song they kill it and I actually like og version better than apocalyptour version cuz the tempo and tone is more tru to the lyrics. it such a sad song and Lucius is a bitch but aaa it so goooooood and the flash back scenes w/ brosenthal and Arielle are so amazing I love ethemmmmmm Tyler and Joe m voice sound so good together and the harmonies are everythinggggg)

7. Stutter (ok so I know I said I have problems w/ umbridge and I do but this song is way to much of a bop for me to ignore it the dancing and the lights and everything make this song amazing and being backed up by the dementors *chefs kiss* this is greattttttttt also context is hilarious like umbridge got pissed at Dumbledore and I cant it is great we love)

Those Voices (ok this song is underrated FIGHT ME this song is fucking amazing the harmonies and the feels and the mirror aaaaaaaaaaaaaa Darren and nick sound so good and it so emotional and I love this fucking song idk why others dont like this song slaps like go off Darren and nick I stan so harddddddddd)

To Have a Home (aaaaa DARRENNNNNN he popped off in this show like I cant emphasize that enough this song slaps and it so heartfelt and amazing omfg Darren’s voiiiicceeeeee aaaaaa it so emotional and the last note w/ GRYFFINDOR over it is so good and it aaaaaaa I cant this song is amazing and it so good especially in homecoming aa I love itttttt)

Hermione Can’t Draw (omfg this song is amazingggg so fucking funny and fun fact Darren said in one of the 10niversary livestreams that the chords are complete nonsense and dont even match what they saying and I love htattttt also when brolden comes in w/ Joe m and interrupts and then they change the songaaaaa it so fucking funny and then him getting offended is hilarious I love also Snape/ron bromanceeeeeeeee I fucking love them it amazing this song is great and im so happy it counts as actual song!!!)

3. Days of Summer (amazing almost finale! days of summer is great and it def captures the feel of starkid and how much we love themmmmm also the dance break and Britneys lines are amazing go OFF James w/ that choreo it slaps this song is so good and amazing and catchy and we loveeeeee)

It was crazy to believe that this was their last party in that house. That all the sleepless nights and all the insane memories would cease after tonight. It was even crazier to believe that after this, the group that was so tightly united would now be walking their different paths. Even as you stood there on the makeshift dance floor, dancing with a bright smile on your face, melancholy took over, as you recognized you would never again pull up to that driveway and walk through the beautiful doors that marked your favorite place in the world. It was sad, but it didn’t mean you would lose your friends. The simple fact was, they were your closest friends. You constantly hung out with the guys, so little was bound to change. You laughed, swaying sensually to the rhythm of the music blasting from the stereos you had set up earlier. You thought of your friends. How much you loved Jake and his constantly goofy personality. You would be lying if you said you didn’t instantly brighten up when you saw him. You thought of Aaron and his Fortnite addiction and you had to keep from laughing. You thought of Corey and Devyn and Katrina and Sam and you smiled, stopping for a minute. You loved them all so much, but there was one person you could never get out of your head. You looked around the room, and searched for his beautiful blue eyes. You found them talking to a couple girls in the corner of the room farthest from you. Your smile faltered slightly. Your relationship was... complicated. It was a no strings attached situation. You both had slept together innumerable times, but outside of that, your relationship with him was no different then the rest of the group. Just like friends. Like family... He wasn’t paying attention to you, so you looked away, and focused back on your dancing. Someone tapped your shoulder. You turned around, your gaze connecting with a rather attractive individual.

“Hey beautiful, is there any chance I could get you to dance with me?” He spoke, his voice deep and raspy, bringing chills down your back.

“Y-Yes. Yes of course.” You responded, taking his hand as he led you to an emptier part of the floor. You smiled, completely unaware of the eyes staring at you from across the space.

“I’ve never been to any of these places before, wow! It must be interesting to go and explore your surroundings.” One of the girls next to Colby rambled on, trying her best to keep his attention. The other girl next to her nodded, adding her own two cents to the conversation, but it was futile. He was looking at her, dancing with another man. It irritated him, even though he was well aware that he wasn’t her boyfriend.

“Colby.” Sam spoke up, and for once he snapped out of it. The two girls looked at him, hushing up. Colby stopped staring at you and focused his attention on his best friend.

“Yeah?” Colby responded, his voice hinting at no emotion.

“I need your help.”

“With?”

“Laying out more cups.” There’s way more people than I actually thought there was gonna be.” Colby nodded, excusing himself from the chatty girls.

“I’ll be right back.” He stated, and followed after Sam for the kitchen. Sam and him worked on setting up the cups, seeing as more and more people were arriving. The party was massive, more than any of the guys anticipated.

“Yo, dude. Look at Y/N go.” Jake walked in, red solo cup in hand. Sam nodded, laughing.

“Looks like if anyone is having fun, it’s definitely her.”

“She can definitely beat Corey at his own game. The girls a natural. Look how she’s moving.”

“She looks beautiful.” Colby agreed, biting his lips as his eyes found her, her bright smile visible even from far away.

“She seems to also have an admirer.” Sam noted, looking from Colby to the floor, watching as their best friend was dancing with a mystery man, his hands squeezing her hips as they danced. Colby felt irritation push up in his stomach.

“Who even is he?” Colby asked, a slight edge to his tone. Both of them shrugged.

“Don’t know. I’ve never met him before.” Jake noted.

“Half of these people seem to be arriving from out of nowhere.” Sam nodded, and Colby put his last cup down.

“I’m going to go investigate. I’ll meet up with you guys in a little while.” Colby stated, and left the kitchen before they could respond. He made his way towards them, before he was interrupted by the same two girls he had been talking to previously.

“Hey Colby, I was hoping you wouldn’t mind taking a picture with us?”

“Yeah, sure, just give me a minute-“

“Ok! It’s been such an honor getting to talk to you, you’re really cool.” The girl droned on, and once he looked up again to the dance floor, you and your mystery beau where nowhere to be seen. Dread filled his head as he thought of what could be happening.

“Y-Yeah.” He replied, taking the picture as fast as humanly possible before darting to go find you. The girls were mildly disappointed that he wasn’t paying attention. But all he could think of was you. You and that beautiful red dress you wore that hugged you in all the right places, you and another guy... alone.

“Me? I don’t do YouTube. I’m studying at college. It’s fun to be around them when they film though.” You laughed, sitting at the top of the stairs. The guy (Matthew was his name. ) stood towering over you, his eyes glued to yours.

“They all seem like cool dudes. “

“Yeah. I’m really lucky to have them.” You beamed, proud of them and the careers they’ve built for themselves.” He grinned, looking down at your lips, kicking his.

“If anything, they are lucky to have a girl like you. You’re breathtaking.” He stated, and you blushed, noticing as he leaned down and closer to you. You weren’t sure what to do. Did you kiss him? Did you not? He was mere millimeters away from your lips as he was pulled away, and your eyes widened in shock.

“Beat it. She’s mine.” Colby demanded, his voice tense. Matthew protested, but Colby stayed put, his blue eyes staring coldly at him.

“See you later, Y/N...” He waved, and walked away. Grumbling as he made his way down the stairs. Your eyes followed him, your hands subconsciously playing with the hem of your dress, chewing on the inside of your cheek.

“Bye...” you mumbled, looking down.

“Can I talk to you?” Colby asked, his voice not losing his edge. You were so confused. You had done nothing wrong.

“Why?” You asked, your eyes not budging from their spot. His hand appeared on your wrist, squeezing gently.

“Please.” He said, his tone softening, his voice lowering. You obeyed, rising from your spot in the staircase. He led you up, into one of the rooms. His rooms. You bit your lip, all the memories from this room, coming back. “Who was he?” Colby asked, closing the door behind you.

“His name is Matthew. He’s a YouTuber too. Not as well known as you though.” You responded, not knowing wether to be scared that he could possibly be mad or to be embarrassed by all the thoughts running through your head.

“Do you like him?” He asked, getting closer to you, his eyes staring straight into your soul. You gulped.

“I-I just met him, Colbs, I-I don’t kn-“ you stopped as he put his hand on your waist, pulling you closer to where he was.

“You’re mine, Y/N. Only mine.” He responds, his hand sneaking down to your ass, squeezing it. You moaned a little, surprised as to what was happening, you looked up to him, your face red as his lips met yours. He kissed you and lingered, as he proceeded to trail his soft mouth down your neck. You pulled him back as far as possible, bumping against the wall. You whimpered slightly as he sucked on your skin, hitting your sensitive spot. Your hand snaked its way from his shirt to his hair, tugging on it gently, as he abused your neck. It was heaven for you. You closed your eyes, blushing as his mouth lowered and made more marks on you.

“Colby.” You called out to him, and he pulled away from your neck, looking down at it and smirking approvingly. You’re breathless, the heat of the situation stealing your breath away.

“You’re mine.” He stated again, and you nodded. But you didn’t know what he meant.

“What about ‘no strings attached. Like we discussed?”

“I don’t want that anymore. I want more.” He smiled, kissing your forehead. Your lashes fluttered, biting your lip.

“I want more too. With you.” You responded, and he kissed you, this time more gentle than before. You thanked Matthew in your head, though you felt bad for the way Colby treated him.

“Yo, Colby, why the fuck are you missing the part- Oh shit.” You heard Jake call out as he opened the door, and you couldn’t help but laugh. Colby couldn’t either.

“Yeah dude, I’ll be down in a minute.” He stated, pulling away. Jake looked to you, and then down to your neck. He smirked. You were definitely NEVER going to hear the end of it.

“Jesus, it’s like you’re a fucking vampire or something. Gross.” Jake pretended to be grossed out, gagging as he winked at you, causing you to giggle. “Later, dude.” He said goodbye, and closed the door. Colby finally pulling away from you.

“Coming downstairs?” He asked, holding out his hand. You took it, a huge smile spreading over your features, and his heart couldn’t help but swell at how beautiful you were.

A/N: this was supposed to be just a little ficlet but i got carried away and tHIS HAPPENED!! also, IM BACK aaah. im sorry for taking so long to write this, i was traveling and i barely had any time alone to just stop and write. but, here it is finally! ++ i wrote this at like 1am so forgive me if there’s any mistakes?? enjoy and, as always, feedback is appreciated :)

It was game night for the basketball team of Hawkins High School, and what it looked like the whole teenage population of Indiana had shown up and thus had been crumpled up into their not-so-big gymnasium. Y/N would’ve stopped to think of the dangers of overcrowding the gymnasium with enthusiastic teens if it were not for the hot guy from the opposing team who kept eyeing her.

Y/N was not one to flirt with anyone who would give her their time of day, but this one guy was being very persistent with his staring and, honestly, what’s the harm with a little flirt? It’s not like she’s gonna marry the guy or something. So, she goes up to him.

“I have to say,” she says as a form of greeting, “I have never had someone look so intently at me for so long. I’m both flattered and creeped out.”

“Yeah, well,” the guy gives her a smirk, “it’s not like it’s easy to ignore the prettiest girl in the room.”

Y/N tilts her head, chuckling and giving him a smirk back.

“I’m Y/N,” she says.

“Corey,” he answers, raising one of his perfect eyebrows.

Y/N and Corey continue to shamelessly flirt with each other up until she had to go seat on the bleachers and he had to go play.

Throughout the game, Corey kept looking at Y/N, sending kisses and winking at her. Y/N wasn’t stupid, she knew what this looked like and she knew others were already gossiping amongst themselves. But the reaction she was most interested by was Steve Harrington’s.

Y/N and Steve have known each other since pre-school, and ever since the moment they met, they have had this confusing love-hate relationship. It all started when Steve lent her one of his crayons and then proceeded to spend the rest of the day making fun of her for coloring over the line. And then in middle school, when she had gotten a haircut and he pointed out to their whole class how weird it looked, but then put a note on her locker saying he thought she looked beautiful.

Anyway, Y/N had grown accustomed to the mean-ish kind of sweet and overall confusing Steve she knew. But what she was not expecting was the angry look on his face whenever Corey did something as simple as smile at her. Not only that but he seemed like he was targeting Corey on purpose during the game, focusing more on hurting him than actually winning the game. But that couldn’t be. Surely Y/N’s mind was playing tricks on her. Steve couldn’t be jealous.

When the game ends, Corey runs up to her.

“So,” he says as he comes to a stop in front of her, “what did you think?”

“Considering you lost,” Y/N shrugs, “you did pretty good.”

Before Corey could say anything else, Steve shows up out of nowhere and stands between Y/N and him, facing her and not looking one bit embarrassed or guilty for interrupting their conversation.

“Hi Y/N,” he says nonchalantly.

“Steve,” she smiles and places her hands on his shoulders, pushing him to her side so now they could both face Corey, “this is Corey. Corey, this is Steve.”

Corey gives him a little wave, whilst Steve just glares at him.

“It looked like you were trying to kill me out there, man,” Corey jokes.

“Yeah,” Steve answers slowly and turns to Y/N once again, “you never come to our games.”

“This seemed like an important one, I didn’t wanna miss it, I guess,” she says, furrowing her eyebrows, “Why? Do you mind me coming?”

“No,” he says quickly, “it’s just... Did come becau— I mean, where do you know him from?”

Steve glances quickly at Corey, to indicate who he was referring to, before looking at Y/N once again, waiting for her to answer.

“We just met here,” Y/N chuckles awkwardly, “why are you asking?”

Steve only gapes at her, as if he didn’t know the answer to that question either. Corey, on the other hand, lets out a loud laugh, causing Y/N and Steve to look at him in surprise.

“I think I know what’s going on here,” he says, still laughing and pointing his finger at them accusingly, “but you clearly don’t.”

“What?” both Y/N and Steve question at the same time. Corey runs his hands through his face in frustration.

“How do I say this?” he asks himself, and puts his hand down, looking at them intently, “are you two friends?”

“We are—“ Steve starts.

“Acquaintances,” Y/N mumbles quickly.

“Close acquaintances,” Steve corrects, glancing at her. Corey grins at them, looking remarkably amused.

“Whatever you are,” he tells them slowly and mockingly, as if he’s talking to small children, “there’s this really intense sexual tension going on between you two.”

Steve chokes on air and coughs, fixing his gaze at anything but the girl beside him. Y/N just turns beet red and lets out a small noise in denial, her eyes widening. Corey starts chuckling again.

“Oh, man, this is too good,” he clasps his hands together, “I’m serious. I’ve never seen two people so obliviously sexually attracted to each other. You need to fuck or else it’ll become unbearable for—“

“Ok,” Y/N exclaims loudly, “can you stop talking now, Corey? Please?”, she pleads desperately.

“Ok, ok,” Corey huffs and puts his hand up in surrender, “I’ll stop.”

Y/N lets out a breath she didn’t know she was holding, while Steve seems to finally gather his and starts to breathe normally again.

“Just don’t forget to invite me to the wedding,” Corey says as he backs away, giving them one last glance before turning away and leaving for good.

Y/N doesn’t know how long Steve stands still and quiet next to her, looking at the spot Corey was just standing, but suddenly he snickers and turns his head to look at her.

“Can you believe him?” he exclaims, flailing his arms around and shaking his head, “This guy— I mean, he just met us!”

Y/N decides that if Steve is just gonna act like a child and deny everything instead of dealing with it like a grown up, she will, too. Besides, there’s no way Corey could actually be right, what’s the point on even discussing it? So, Y/N just lets out a fake laugh and turns to Steve.

“Right, he’s insane!” she agrees, “How could he even say something like that? We would never, you know...”, she trails off, giving him an awkward chuckle and shoulder nudge.

“Yeah, I do know,” Steve says quietly. When she looks up at him, he’s giving her almost a sad smile, the corners of his lip upturned just a little bit and his eyes looking softly down at her. Nope, Y/N thinks, she’s not going to deal with Sweet Steve tonight, she just won’t.

“I’m gonna go now, I think,” she decides, giving him a curt nod.

“I should get going, too,” he answers, “good night, Y/N.”

Steve leans down and pecks her cheek. He lets his eyes linger on her as he turns around and walks away, leaving a confused Y/N with one thought in her mind: she will never be able to figure out Steve Harrington.

uhhhh..... short answer? yes

not short answer? YES i could go on for lengthy amount of time as to why i love this show.... heres a really good post about it!!

for me, personally? i’ve been such a sci fi hoe lately

and imo, this is PEAK sci fi tv to be watching 

its written really well, the special effects are incredible, the characters are very well done... however

i feel like i need to say this to anyone considering starting the show. as its an issue i encountered myself in the beginning, that being....

PLEASE make sure you get yourself to season 2 and watch some of season 2. as i felt s1, for a first time viewer... it can be quite confusing. i found it very disjointed and a bit hard to follow at times. or even figure out what the main plot was for quite sometime. its one of those shows like LOST or other shows where, the more you rewatch it, with the more information you have, the more you discover new things. and you appreciate it more then you did the first time around. s1 i really did enjoy first time but s2 has so many new great elements and fantastic new character additions. 

also look. i just found it very endearing before i even started, when i heard that after s3, it got cancelled... BUT. the fans managed to get it back and amazon picked it up. and whenever that happens to a show? you just know its gotta be worth it yaknow? 

the show is based on the successful sci fi novels, by James S.A. Corey (joint pen name of two dudes)

anyway, if you want me to yell more about it to you (which i can happily do) about how all of the individual friendships between the characters is so well done, and the main crew themselves is the ol found family situation... and so much more... i can happily do that!!! but osihdf hopefully this is enough to perhaps get you watching it finger guns

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR OK!!!! TREAT YOURSELF AND WATCH THE EXPANSE!!!! FIRST 2 SEASONS ARE ON NETFLIX!!!
