"A bright flash of light blinded him as he landed on his feet, bending his knees to brace for the impact. The first thing he noticed was the sound of wailing and the wetness beneath his shoes. There were small, child sized shades reaching toward a group dressed in black robes, hoods obscuring their faces. The hooded figures whispered between themselves after he arrived, seeming delighted when they saw him. Their souls ballooning in anticipation and fervent joy. Distantly, he could tell the robed figures were asking something of him in excitement, but Polka was focused on the group of shades crowding around him. They latched onto his clothes, crying thick black tears. ‘Help us’, they asked, pawing at him, ‘Save us!’ Or, Polka and Corpse God are summoned into the DCU and give more than a few heroes headaches.

“So you’re kicking me out, just like that?”

I let a few tears slip as I watched the love of my life throw my clothes into a suitcase without a care in the world. He was mumbling something under his breath that I couldn’t quite catch, we had the same argument for the fourth night in a row and it’s clearly not getting us anywhere, fiddling with my fingers my mind wandered back to the fight we had 20 minutes ago, so the fight was pretty fresh.

“Corpse! All I’m saying is that you need to start taking more care of yourself!” I choked out but he didn’t pay any attention to me at first. “Please, I’m only caring for you because I love you and I can’t stand to see you like this” I spoke softly following him into the kitchen, his back towards me as he stood by the recently washed up cups to grab a drink.

“I can take care of myself” he raised his voice as big as I bit back a laugh but failed. He turned to look at me. If looks could kill. “Y/N when I asked you to move in with me I meant as my girlfriend not my fucking mother or a nurse or a maid!”

“Evidently not enough! Look at you, you’re a mess all you do is sit on your ass and play games all day and stream heck you even record music more than you ever see me it’s fucking ridiculous” I mentally kicked myself as his face dropped, he didn’t even look mad just disappointed and hurt.

“I want you to leave, I want you out of this house and I don’t want you to come back. I’m gonna pack my shit and you’re gonna get the fuck out of my life! You’re a joke.” He spat, I knew I deserved it but his words didn’t hurt me any less.

I was knocked out of my thoughts as a bag was thrown at my feet, I was struggling to breathe at this point, nothing mattered but the hateful glare in his eyes. “So you’re kicking me out just like that?” I choked out trying to swallow the lump growing in my throat.

“Just like that. Get out I have a stream.” He handed me my suitcase, I could only nod as I walked out leaving him to shut the bedroom door. Gathering the last piece of dignity I had left I picked up my coat from the hanger and opened the front door no knowing where to go.

Walking for awhile with no money I settled on a park bench. It was already pitch black out and there was barely any signal on my phone but I guess this will just have to do. After all, I deserve this if not more. I started dozing off when my phone suddenly went off with a Twitter notification.

“@Corpse_Husband: I’m such a fucking idiot! Y/n if you see this please come home or at least let me know you’re safe. I love you and I’m sorry☹️”
