hi i finished another corset belt. also the next one is in the works but it'll get a seperate post

i spent 3 days and 31 grams of yarn on this, which i'm pretty happy with

i made the pattern myself, it was pretty simple and i'm pretty happy with it except for i need to find a way to make the lacing holes not stretch like this. the "official" height of the holes is only 1 sc, and the row before it is dc, but it's looking the other way round

i may have found a way in the previous one i made, i sewed in boning channels, before realising that it went fine without boning actually, and those don't stretch out as much, so i think maybe the presence of woven fabric is the answer . will test on the next one. for now, this is Fine

Ya’ll I literally made this corset/dirndl belt! I DID! LOL! I was inspired from this girl I follow on IG and just kinda wanted to challenge myself in recreating this piece. Literally my impulsive self jumped onto this project and I hand sewed everything and just finished adding the grommets! Although it’s not as perfect as it would be with a sewing machine (I don’t have one obviously) I’m pretty proud of myself lol.

Obviously there needs to be some adjustments and some things I would definitely do differently but coming from someone who has never sewn anything in her life, just started the past few months or so, yeah I’m kinda proud haha! Also this is just a test run so I’m ready to make another one to actually wear out! (:

Like the board is just for vibes but I can’t stop thinking about how corsets were used as bras and how those corsets are basically useless. i said in my last post this one would get its own, so, here it is. another corset belt wip

this is from yarn i was gifted by @wibblywobblybowtie last year. together with another skein. i made these fingerless gloves from the first skein.

i saved the other hank, for a Worthy Project. and this past week, i decided i finally had it (i love corset thingies)

i gathered my courage, and overturned a small round table, and started working on rolling it! and it went! well! (in the previous post i linked you can read a little about my first experience with hanks)

and i'm using the same pattern! mostly! partially! i took the cabled looking repeat from the top half of the gloves, and i am just, doing that until i reach a large enough rectangle
